Man, pull on the desk out, let's turn this on, man.
Yeah, we're here.
You're moving around timid in the cell.
Chill out, chill out, chill out.
The people have voiced their concerns.
They never want to hear from you ever again.
Savon, the Don.
No, some people like Savon.
Yeah, they do.
Some people like Savon.
A lot of people really hate him.
But I like that.
I like when people hate somebody.
Listen, anytime you put a new character on the sitcom, people are going to dislike it at first.
You're feeding narratives.
Stop new characters on the sitcom.
You get people nervous talking like that.
Ice, they want you to clear your throat.
They said your tone.
The tone of your voice.
You on your JDK shit?
It's really.
Raspy?
Said it's not the most pleasurable of tones.
Oh.
And my voice sounds just as luxurious as it always does.
That's just mine.

But you gotta look inside each song.
That's where I proved it was really inside all along.
Bid all, so the privacy gone.
Grab the pen, sit down, and write these wrongs.

What episode is this?
425.
Welcome to episode 425 of the Joe Budden Podcast.
I'm your humble, gracious, grateful, and highly favored host here with a few people that are
cool, showed up to get the job done.
We'll be that.
Showed up when they've gotten a frantic call.
Now, slow down now.
The people have casted their votes.
You cleared your throat.
Pause.
Not so many of your takes.
That's not a Joe thing. The people decided
it. How did they do it? Yes.
The people decided it. You can keep the good
takes, just not the bad takes. Yeah, it was too much, so
we're going to regain some order here.
Get this thing back to where it needs to be. I'm
in Rory's seat where I've always wanted
to be. Yeah. This does
feel better. I'm not going to lie. The public, I said
that. I know. And we're tinkering. We're tink feel better. I'm not going to lie. The public, I said that. I know.
We're tinkering.
We're tinkering today.
No, we are a multi-million dollar establishment.
Enough of this.
Enough tinkering. We're figuring it out.
No, this is up.
And it's stuck.
But yeah, I like the seat.
I like the seat. When Rory returns, he will have to return to this seat.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
And I hope that Maul and myself don't fight over it.
Wait, we got to put something there.
Put something over there.
Let's memorialize the seats.
Listen, man.
I don't have anything as cool as what Maul wears.
I'm here for, and I don't dress as fly as him either.
But neither does anyone here.
But we're here.
We're here.

Now,
with that said,
real talk time.
Let's get right into it.
Let's have some fun.
Let's do it.
Well, first,
how's everyone?
I'm great, personally.
Everyone's great?
Amazing.
Amazing.
I stood off the internet
for a little bit.
They scared you away?
But I'm good.
Bro, listen. I'm good. Listen. They was on your ass. No, I stood off the internet for a little bit. Yeah. They scared you away? But I'm good. Bro, listen.
But I'm good.
Listen.
They was on your ass.
No, I got locked out because I was like going back at certain people.
It wasn't my choice.
You reacted?
A little bit.
You reacted all weekend, Ice.
That's not reacting.
You're clapping back.
You can't tag me and tag the Joe Budden pod page to complain because it goes to me.
So it's like, the fuck are you doing here?
Say, Vaughn, you're not supposed to reply to anything that you have emotions about.
I don't have emotions about it.
I thought it was funny.
That's trolling, Joe.
See?
Yeah, that's part of the new age problem that exists.
It's not trolling.
You niggas are soft and sensitive.
Because you tagged me twice.
They think they're talking to you.
See, trolling is just like one of the words.
They know what I mean.
They don't know what trolling means. watching i'm watching the deadline it's got
law and order that's not me that you're cursing out and if it was i wouldn't say nothing i wouldn't
say nothing i don't care like don't let these people don't let them live rent free don't let
them live rent free listen man i don't know what happened i don't know what happened in the world
of hip-hop i don't know what's going on don't know what happened in the world of hip-hop.
I don't know what's going on. I know Ray and Ghost went back and forth.
I saw a little bit of that.
That was awesome.
We'll get into it.
The White Boys got right back to shooting.
We'll get into it.
Yes, that happened.
Yeah, they did.
Rest in peace to anybody who lost their lives in this.
This is a mess, and we'll get into all of that.
But we have some business that we need to
address first and foremost
because the streets are in a frenzy.
The streets talk.
Did you know they would be in a frenzy
this way? Of course I knew. Absolutely.
I think it was actually a little tamer than
I expected. Way worse than
what I saw. But the streets are
in a frenzy.
Yeah.
I take things, maybe certain things for granted.
Certainly not this platform and this audience.
And how just rabid they are with certain things.
I get that.
But, you know, last week was a tough, it was a tough pod.
Well, the week before that, we've been working through things.
Yeah.
Right?
We've been working through things with right we've been working through things and what i'm here to do today in the absence of my guys is
lean into transparency because that's just the only way i know how to do things
so maybe some of the conversations that we've avoided having uh maybe we can have some of them today in a nice, respectful manner, of course.
Right?
So for me, this starts, it was rough, rough, rough, cool,
and you look for an escape from work.
And on the weekends, you know, my dad makes breakfast.
Me and my cousins go over there.
Saturday morning, I head right over to my dad's, have some grits and eggs.
It's a good breakfast.
Yeah, some bacon, ham, some wild country shit. It was some good shit going on. That'sits and eggs. It's a good breakfast. It's some bacon, ham, it was some
wild country shit. It was some good shit going on.
That's a good breakfast.
And they were lined up in the living room
and the kitchen
in all ears
waiting to hear about what happened to the
podcast.
Damn, Streets talked even at home.
Streets got cold talking.
He almost burnt the grits. Talk about not chill. I need to hear this. damn streets talked even he almost he almost birthed the grit
talking about not chill
I need to hear this
I need to hear what's going on
I don't know my family
to be that invested
in podcast business
so of course sometimes
it starts with
yo man
I don't even be checking
for the pod like that
but my one man
who listens faithfully
that's how it goes
that's exactly how it goes.
Always that one. He said
and he got the scoop.
Yeah. It's coming
to its end. He's got theories.
Everyone's got theories. There's a lot of theories.
But the one man that listens faithfully,
he got the theories.
But alright, so I didn't know that my whole
family would be up in arms about this
podcast stuff, but cool. I have an uncomfortable breakfast.
And I leave.
And as soon as I leave, the next spot I get to, I go to my homegirl.
I'll sit in the balcony, chill out, catch a vibe, just trying to keep it positive because there's a lot going on out there.
And she says, yo, man, what the hell is going on with the pod?
The fellas weren't there.
Is it over?
That's a lot of that.
Did her man say something to her too?
No, this is all her.
And then I guess she had some friends too that inquired.
And then that was the course of my day and my weekend.
And everywhere I went, my phone was ringing and people had questions about the pod.
So I did what any normal, respectable human being would do.
I went home and I locked myself in my closet.
As to avoid having to answer some of these things.
The last pod we came in here and I thought I was doing a solid by saying, yo, the guy's on vacation. Oh, come on.
That brought nothing but
more conspiracy. That don't work.
They said we're doing a rollout.
Yo, everything is a rollout.
Everything's a rollout. That would
make sense. Yeah. But maybe we should
roll with it. Let's roll something out.
There you go. Wait, what did they say?
They said it's a rollout.
It's a rollout.
Roll something out.
But y'all got something coming down the pipeline.
Yeah.
I have an issue with so many of these things.
I don't even know where to begin with all of this.
Okay.
So this is where we begin.
I'll eliminate some of the suspense because I either love or hate when a show or doc does that.
Rory and Maul are not here, but this is Rory's seat.
This is not Ice's seat.
Correct.
And that is Maul's seat.
And whenever they feel like returning to their seats,
then they'll return to their seats.
Then I can go back to work.
And then what will happen is the same thing that happens
when your star players come back ice will
go back to his job savon will go back to being voiceless in the corner just taking the time
stamps and then everything is cool but i also really enjoyed uh us getting killed i enjoyed
savon getting killed ice getting killed me getting killed because all i did was show up to work right
all you did was show up when work right or you did was show
up when i asked you to do me a favor yo do me a side i need you to call out for a minute i didn't
even know what i was doing savon ain't ready for prime time like this like he's ready what you mean
prime time no no no that's not true that's not true you should maybe be the opening act
not ready for prime time you thrust into this position with this huge audience.
10 o'clock slot, maybe.
This huge audience that's accustomed to certain personalities, takes, delivers a certain way.
It's not right.
It's not fair.
But, hey.
Hey, sink or swim, buddy.
No, I understand.
I get it.
It's a show.
It's a sitcom to me.
Yeah, so these are these guys' seats.
And I'll be honest with you guys.
I love when podcasts go through this type of turmoil.
I do.
But I'm weird.
No objections.
No.
I love when podcasts go through this because it shapes things.
It shapes character.
Even two weeks ago, or how many weeks ago, I was saying to Rory here, yo, sometimes I love when a situation just presents itself so you can see your girl get in, see what she'll do in that moment.
And he said to me, well, what do you mean?
Give me an example.
And I said, I can't think of one right now, but I'll get back to you.
Ta-da!
This is exactly what I'm talking about.
If you're asking me, and this is transparent talk here,
I would have never envisioned anything like this happening.
Oh, my God!
What?
Happens to the best of them, buddy.
Yeah.
Rory and Moe are not here?
They're talking?
Are they the streets?
Who knows?
I don't know who the streets is.
I'm just saying some of this stuff you can't plan for,
you can't envision.
All you can do is let the universe play out
and see the side of the fence that everyone stands on.
So I start there.
I start with I love when podcasts go through this
because it builds character.
One.
Start with I love Rory and Maul
as brothers.
Samesies.
Savon and Ice
is not trying to replace
Rory and Maul either.
Thank you.
Like,
that's the other thing.
People kind of got it twisted.
I guess it was such a sudden change
and they just saw the visual
of,
hey,
he's in the stool
and he's in Rory's chair.
Like,
that's not what it is either.
Yeah,
no,
I'm,
listen,
I ain't want to be here.
I'm going to keep it a buck. Like, no. Listen, I ain't want to be here. I'm going to keep it a buck.
They all know.
I don't do podcasts.
That's not my thing.
You're a pretty good podcaster.
And there's a reason why Joe did not tell me what he needed me for until we were in the car on the way here.
I believe that, too.
No, I know for a fact now.
Now it makes sense.
Because he know if he'd have hit me and said, yo, I need you to do the podcast.
I'm like, eh.
Listen, bro.
Listen, sometimes you can't tell your friends
what you need them for.
I'm here to have honest friend talk today.
Let's do it.
Hey, sometimes you going to get your friends
to take them back to the block
because you got an issue with dude.
You might not tell them all about dude resume.
He just ill.
Just come.
Yeah.
We got to deal with the problem it's there yeah that's it so
yeah no i appreciate that dang i forgot where i was at within this whole pod story oh y'all
are not trying to replace small no at all not even a little bit
what's the interesting thing about me and situations like this,
especially when friendship is involved and I'm here for the friendship and
business talk,
a truthful,
honest one,
by the way,
sometimes in that everybody has to stay,
take a step back and go to their respective corners.
Everybody has to take a step back and go to their respective corners.
And sometimes everyone's perspective on how to perspective and position.
On how to go about that and how it should be executed.
Is extremely different.
Two things that's true in the world. Everyone has a different perspective, one.
And two, everybody has to be responsible for where they get it from.
It all comes from different places, right?
With me, I am a Swiss Army knife because I pull my information from many different places that the average person just going about the daily course of life maybe would not.
If you want to have a talk about escort rates, I can.
Look where you start.
Carry on.
I'm sorry.
It's important.
I know.
See, I'm laughed at, but it's something i take pride in
like i take pride in understanding that i've been in music on a major i've had video games i didn't
get paid for i've been part of a production company uh i've had a hit single i've had a label
expect me to keep the lights on in the future. I've had people press me for a second album
when I was running around spending all my money
from the first album.
I've had business accountants that have robbed me.
I've had business accountants that have tried to rob me.
I've been independent.
I've been in TV.
I've been, you name it.
Radio.
I've been in radio.
I've experienced that.
I've been in a group i've been by myself
i've tried to be a youtube star at one point like my information comes from
just a plethora of places right so when joe talks
i don't really expect too many people to understand where i'm pulling shit from
it don't make sense yesterday I went to try
to buy some uh try to buy some furniture I was looking for some chairs and shit for this yeah I
mean you know yeah and I was getting in the car with Ian and Keeb gave gave soda day off right
Keeb's getting in the driver's seat they both say where do you want to go? Where do you want to sit? I say, I'll take the back.
Don't worry, I don't have a gun on me.
They did what you just did.
They both laughed.
And I laughed too.
I'm just laughing because we just had that conversation.
I just asked them when we got in the car.
I laughed too.
For totally different reasons.
They laughed because that's laughable.
Of course you don't have a gun in the car,e i laughed because i've been in that very situation where i was in a contract right with
someone who said where do you want to sit you sit in the front don't worry i don't have a gun on me
and it was somebody that might have had a gun on him that's why I laughed, our perspectives come just from different places, man, just from different
places, let me address some of the fans' concerns, and let me speak for myself, right, because what
I'm learning as I go about this podcast network business is, as I continue to ascend and as we continue to ascend as savon has expressed
to me on different occasions it's harder for people to talk to me could be no it's not could
be stop with this stop with this trolling could be no i deal in certainty and facts
it's not could be people are having a difficult time speaking to joe about
things that's my reality no one else's and that doesn't mean anything until it does
until you start hearing whispers in the street
until you start hearing rumors from places that shouldn't have any rumors
and even that don't mean nothing if you don't put any stock into that those type of things because i
don't but that don't mean that other people are not we all got eyes and ears
well just that fast you've thrust me into a unique situation which i sit because i have to understand
everyone's perspective but damn it's hard being the boss huh that sounds crazy that sounds crazy
what i'm not that's not this didn't start with visions of boss and y'all know me so i don't run
around saying things like that i meant being such a
i don't take this platform for granted the audience for granted the fact that the audience
travels with us for granted like i appreciate all of those things that's why i appreciate the fact
that this is with friends or what we assume to be friends. I have experience going out there and trying to get true value for something
or going to work with some people that I didn't necessarily enjoy
or going to work and have to kick and knock down doors to get information
and then taking that to confirm it or disprove it to see what's real and what's not.
It's a constant PTSD that people have to deal with.
So that's not my position.
My position is the opposite.
My position is
because I'm a creator,
I always understand the position.
But you're the boss now.
Things have changed for you.
I'm sorry.
And that's evolution, Joe.
Yeah.
That's a good thing.
It's something that you're going to
learn to deal with both internally and externally
okay that's great but that's still not joe's position joe's position is boy i know how shit
feels i know how it feels from every corner of the club. I know how it feels, and I'm not speaking about Maul and Rory specifically.
Now we're just kind of talking.
But I know how it feels to not be searching for something
and find something that you maybe didn't know existed
and how to respond to that.
People always call Joe a lunatic because I come on here
and I look like a lunatic because there's a lot of behind the scenes things that occur.
And then I look fucking nuts.
But I mean, when you get into the crux of it, when I screamed on Complex in here, I had a baby on the way.
I had a kid coming.
My thoughts were not just related to what was happening at work.
It was, oh, shit.
I might have to piece this together.
How am I piecing this together?
How am I paying these bills?
How am I buying diapers?
How am I X, Y, Z?
Like the way that I got to deduce might be different.
It ain't just a work thing, right?
So when you feeling things for me, you know, what's the courtesy, you know, what would be nice for my employer to care or my not my employer, my place of work to care.
When I had all of my issues with complex. I was looking for them to care because I thought it was valuable.
That's a courtesy that wasn't extended. said hey you having a baby thank you for your time
joe's out of here i was home surprised that was a courtesy that just wasn't extended cool
spotify you come in here you beef with them they got what they people put a little press clip out
that said hey man we
offered them something significant it didn't work out man wish you the best thanks for your time
because it's just business to them that's how it goes so that's my reaction when i see the fans
attempt to split up something that was built so carefully over the years. Right?
There's a Park's hive.
There's a Rory hive.
There's a Maul hive.
There might be a tiny, say, Vaughn hive. I think there's an Alex hive, too.
I got a little something.
There's hives around, and you don't want to cause confusion
and division amongst the hives even with shit so i mean so i mean the best thing you
could do is what i wished would have been uh uh granted for me when i was going through it
is to just give time time give everybody time to chill get back to their respective corners figure out what they want to do how they want to
go about doing it but truth be told and i said this in many of joe verses none of us are slaves
to the audience none of us owe anybody else anything no one owes anybody anything like everybody has a choice in different matters
and some of us have to be responsible for that back to my unique position let me tell you a
little bit about my guys who i love and i miss a little bit uh and i felt safe saying this about
maul before i spoke to maul, and I did speak to Maul.
Maul doesn't give a fuck about podcasting.
Like, is that a shock to anybody?
Maul's not a podcaster.
He doesn't care about podcasting.
He doesn't care about any of this shit that comes along with podcasting.
Maul is a man of principle.
Yeah, that part's fair.
I don't know if I would say he doesn't care about podcasts.
I think he cares about this podcast.
For sure.
Well, he devoted his time to it.
Yeah, maybe not podcasting as a whole.
The landscape of the business.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But he cares about this podcast. He cares about this podcast, for sure.
And what comes with it.
Let me tell you something.
That much is for sure.
Now let's get back into uncomfortable conversations.
Okay.
People thought I was nuts when I wanted to leave Slaughterhouse.
It's not that I didn't care about Slaughterhouse.
Or I didn't care about rap or I didn't care about the group.
I didn't care enough to stay around and continue to deal with some of the stuff that was going on.
So that's what I mean when I say more don't care about podcasting.
It's more moral compass.
It isn't the toughest to digest. It's, hey,
is it fly or is it not?
Simple as
that. Y'all been listening
to Maul enough over the years
to know that that is his position,
I would assume, especially to Maul High.
So
if Maul bump into something on this podcast
that he think ain't fly guess what hey you can have that
I can't speak for Rory's position
I don't know
even though I have spoke to Rory
you gotta say this
they be ready to attack
I can't speak for that
but
as someone that's been on the other side
of all this
I feel him I feel him.
I feel him.
When shit got to get right, it got to get right.
When I was 35 years old, not story time, but I was trying to picture how shit would look in my 40s.
And when I did a gut check, a reflection check, what I learned was my credit was bad.
My license was suspended. my credit was bad my license was suspended my name was bad my my reputation was bad and just so many things were bad and if i didn't if i didn't
want things to continue this way i would have to make some serious changes
and then that's what happened you you make the necessary changes that you see fit.
But even in friendship, back to friendship and business,
in those relationships,
you still got to do a check every few years
to make sure you're getting what you need from the relationship.
Yeah, that's with everything.
Personal relationships, business relationships,
friendships, family relationships. Yeah, man. Friendships, family relationships.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, sometimes you outgrow things.
You outgrow people.
Hey, maybe some of the things that I wanted and that was suitable for me a few years ago are no longer suitable.
But whose job is it to share that?
Yours.
And everyone is entitled to that.
I don't joke when I come on here at the end of the pod
and say your life is a series of moments and moments past.
I'm not in here just saying things.
No, that's real.
This has been a beautiful moment.
If anything, we've made,
if the run is over, we made podcast history.
Absolutely.
Two times over. Two times over.
Two times over.
Yeah.
For sure.
That's something to celebrate if the run is over.
If you're asking me, I don't think the run is over.
I don't think so either.
I think everybody's going to get right.
Yes.
In the friendship, in the business.
And then I think we all reconvene and come back here with some of the same information.
These brothers are not here so I can only speak for myself.
What's been happening for me is I've been sitting here growing a resentment toward my friends.
I've been taking some of the, yo,
it's a tremendous weight that comes with running the business and it's bills and you're fighting companies and corporations and DSPs and-
Talent.
It's talent, personality management with this network shit.
It's a lot.
It's a lot going on.
Yeah.
And when you look to your friends for help, they can only really help you if they know what's going on
and it becomes difficult if a lot of your friends are
in the pool
one pool or another, talent or
business or whatever
it gets complicated
because they have
to protect their business self
and be a good friend at the
same time.
How do you do that?
I'll quote Rory on this,
even though I don't necessarily take the same approach through lawyers and
management and,
and,
or third party in some,
some manner,
like mediation type of thing,
some type of mediation.
I've been doing business with you, Joe Budden,
for a very long time, whether it's podcasting,
whether it's music, whether it's touring,
which to me is a separate business.
I don't come to you with business shit
because we have to keep doing things.
We have to do things.
And you have professionals in place.
I handle my own business, so I don't have a manager to handle that stuff, but I'm okay with that.
I'm not saying that's the best option for everybody.
For me, it has worked pretty well in my career.
But other people should probably have someone else talk to you or someone else, your professionals.
But I want to broaden this.
That's in any field.
That's not here.
Yeah.
In any field, you should have your people that you trust,
that protect you, that are invested in you.
Y'all should think tank.
Yeah.
Y'all should plan.
Y'all should figure out different ways to strategize
and execute things right that's not
just specific to uh it's more specific to entertainment business it's tougher in podcasting
parks i would believe because podcasting is such a new thing that too it's such a new business
it's such a new phenomenon and we're still at the precipice of it i think there's probably still professionals lawyers managers or whatever that say what you get paid to sit around and talk like i don't
really understand this well yeah that's the thing is it intellectual property is it what is it well
and that's back to my my unique position today listen i told dudes in 2021, I was going hard because I'm taking out everything 2020 did to us.
I'm taking it out on 2021.
So I'm going all the way hard, right?
In that, one, I can no longer assume that everything is known amongst everyone.
One, I can no longer assume that everything is known amongst everyone.
And two, I keep finding myself in a position that I'm educating people on things that they may not be educated about.
And they're using those things against me at some point in the future.
Not saying Rory and Maul, please don't speculate.
Those are my guys.
We've opened this up.
But period. those are my guys we've opened this up yeah but period so now when you make the republican joe jokes well yeah it's kind of funny and it's appropriate because i mean now i gotta understand
the other side of the coin yeah but i bumped into that that was a mistake i'm being clear with y'all
because my dad always told me you could play the hand upside down. It's going to play the same way.
You can see the cards.
My plan is the same.
You try to stop it now.
And that's my problem.
I kind of have somewhat of an understanding of the corporation's position when Joe starts acting like a lunatic.
And that's got to be hard.
That's got to be hard.
As someone who has been against the machine
the whole time
to now be the machine
right
it ain't
it's so much easier
because I've been
on the other side
yo
these seat
that's Maul's seat
and that's Rory's seat
whenever it pass
that's still they seat
whenever it work out
yeah
whenever the feelings
cause they're fickle
go by
and you kick it
feelings are fickle they're not fickle no feelings are fickle yeah by and you kick it feelings are fickle
they're not fickle
no feelings are fickle
yeah I just wanted to clarify
feelings are fickle
so when they go by
these seats are beer
yeah
it's not for me to go
call Star
and put him there
and call Wano
and put him there
and fucking call anybody else
and put him there
it's shit that's going on
I get it
you're extending
like you said
when you were going through the issues with it you're extending like you said when you were
going through your issues with complex how they were like all right fuck it joe out of here you're
not saying that i would never say that no i know you wouldn't i'm talking about for the listeners
no you can never say that you're saying that listen whatever's happening is happening but
when this blows over these seats are right here. They ain't going nowhere. Yeah, you got to say that.
But I mean, does it come with some caution because you've been that guy?
Like, you know all that's at risk and all that's at stake when these things occur?
Yeah, but it's your job to balance it.
I called you.
Now it is.
I called you.
I called Tavon.
I called Rory.
I called Maul.
I called everybody I think I needed to call.
But, I mean, it's a real simple fight.
Listen, I don't even want to scare the audience.
It's a real simple fight.
There's nothing going on.
It's not even a fight.
Not really.
I spoke to both of these guys
it's not a money thing
it's a miscommunication
it can't be a money thing
it's too much money to go around
correct
miscommunication
it's too much money to go around
it'll never be a money thing
it won't never be that with me
right
it's a pure
miscommunication
misunderstanding
lack of information
to gain a proper understanding
and it's PTSD and paranoia as it relates to, you know,
we've all heard the horror stories of fucking business from your mouth
directly, if nowhere else.
So people have fears that there's shit happening maybe,
or unclear if there's shit happening.
I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I turned into that guy.
I know. And I would hope that I have
people around me that
if for some strange reason I
started turning into that guy,
they would check me.
For anybody that's confused, that's why
Corey's with me.
I don't talk to him.
We don't
speak. He managed me, we
didn't speak. We lived together, we didn't speak he managed me we didn't speak we lived together we didn't speak
today we speak a lot more but that's uncomfortable for him
hey but he's with me because he has a day one perspective when i came to him and music wasn't
really turning out right and i'm like yo dog i, dawg, I'm going to talk to Marissa.
I'm going to start a pod.
We're going to get to talking.
You go call FanDuel or somebody.
I don't fucking know.
When no money was coming in at episode 90,
I came to Corey and I said, yo, dawgs,
I don't know what the fuck you got planned,
but I am not going to continue doing this
for no money
what an idiot right
but when you listen to that
continue to do it for no money for another two years
and it worked
oh my god it hit the fucking air horn
right there we found an issue
I know everybody's laughing and joking.
We just unlocked a bevy of issues.
Whoa.
Some work that maybe we didn't know would work.
And now we got to figure out how it works.
Well, that's probably another big part of it is, again, podcasting is a new space.
We're all kind of figuring this shit out.
What's it worth?
What does it cost? That too. What's it worth and what does it cost that's who yeah see now back to where you get your perspective from again i've been the guy
listen cory booked a whole tour one time right hated cory tory booked the cory booked a whole
tour one time and i asked him to only show me the
final number of what we would make after the 13 shows 14 shows and he showed me the number
and it looked low to me still now i didn't do the gut check at the time that my profile may
have been lower than ever and my labels participation may have been lower than ever but this is the number and this is the
tour you know what i did i went behind this nigga's back and called every manager i know
blue williams kevin louse you name it yo dog Is he supposed to take his 20-whatever percent from my number or the total number?
They all laugh me out the fucking off the phone.
See, dog, this is the problem that managers bump into.
You just get a little money, and now you don't want to pay nobody.
Yes, Joe.
That happens.
This is how managers get paid.
Even for that?
Not all for what you make.
That happens for everybody.
All for the total of what it costs.
Hey, guess what?
As somebody that has done business
with managers that didn't work,
managers that were trying to make it work,
and looking for a manager
that could make it work, right?
Ta-da!
That's the job.
That's the pot.
Shit, it's tough.
Yeah.
But when you bump into it,
when you meet the guy
who can funnel it in,
any manager will tell you
20% of something
that's bringing something in
is a lot more
than 40% of something
that's bringing in zero.
Correct.
Correct.
I had to learn that is what I'm saying.
Yeah.
So now, when I bump into capable people.
What is value?
I don't mind paying them.
What is value?
Because if you can create the value, you should get some of it.
Right.
That's what Rory does.
That's what Maul does.
That's what I do.
That's what you do. That's what Ianul does that's what i do that's what
you do that's what ian does savon that's what we all we all create the value the problem that
creators run into along the way is we never get our fair share of the pie so what we start doing
is trying to cut out the pie yeah where we can. The problem when everything works is what?
You guessed it.
Ain't but so much cutting of the pie you can do.
It's working now.
You can see it.
People visibly see it.
Remember I came on here, I was mad that Erickson had to get a raise?
Be clear, it wasn't the biggest raise in the world.
But it had to happen, right?
He sold 10 more raises
for anybody else to get paid that's a fact i can't keep assuming everybody knows that
fucking alex you get a raise y'all make me go look at shit now i'm looking at what alex make
that's what joe always say yeah because i've been on the other side you have experience
playing with numbers seeing what
i ain't going to work for that i don't think it'll fuck what you're talking about
i went hey good luck with that song buddy but yeah that's the position you find yourself in
and all right let's real talk real quick it's maybe 15 of podcasters that get paid 10 i'm being generous
maybe 10 i'm being generous at 15 very very yeah very generous give them the perspective of how
many podcasts there are out there well we can google it's probably 3 000 born a day now like
the number continues to increase but that's why the percentage is so low because the podcast
that make it make it in the podcast that don't don't and believe me to the
trained eye you can tell what podcasts are making money and which podcasts are not yeah right
absolutely look at this there are currently 850,000 active podcasts and over 30 million
podcast episodes more than half of all u.s consumers above the age of 12 listen to podcast okay that's all you need
to know that's crazy got it granted hey let's step even further than that because there's people
running around putting mud on my name not rory and maul don't y'all think that i would never
use the platform that they helped to build to say a negative utterance about them. It's not who Joe
is.
In friendship, you might get lost.
You might lose sight of who people
are. Especially when
friendship and business meet.
At this level. Yeah.
Torn with your friends.
Here's a fun fact
that Joe knows that
I assume other people know,
but I will no longer assume.
This podcast, we've won awards.
We've been ranked number one.
We've been ranked number two.
We've been ranked 11.
We're currently ranked 31, whatever the ranking is.
Who cares?
I know what rankings mean.
It's like a Grammy.
who cares I know what rankings mean it's like a Grammy this podcast
holds four
expensive seats
no think about it just chill out
chill out let the room breathe
let the room breathe
get some air pour a drink
do with that what you want
I can't be responsible for how everyone
disseminates that
processes that
information
are you kidding me
a show that only four people to take up
NBC would never
they wouldn't
the talk the view the real
the this the that the third
shit got the bag for one person The talk, the view, the real, the this, the that, the third.
Shit.
Got the bag for one person, one person only.
That's a lot of shit.
Yeah.
For four people.
I like it like that.
I can't lessen anybody's contribution.
That's four people to make the job or should make the job that much easier. now we gotta add erickson now we gotta add savon now we gotta add alex now we gotta add
digital media people digital marketing gotta add lawyers you gotta add accountants gotta add the
touring people insurance gotta add the insurance the server costs because our sound is so pristine because you refuse to compress the shit so that we pay less money.
Like, those things.
Those simple questions like, oh, why does shit sound so good?
Joe know.
It costs.
You know what it costs.
Joe knows exactly why that sounds so good.
And I know why they're not doing it.
I have spent a lot of money out there.
Who the fuck would want to carry that
cost? I would never.
But
that's where creators always need help.
We create things out of
nothing, but we always need somebody
that will come and help us build a business out of it.
Johnny and I had that discussion
years ago, right, when he came up
with this new way to package dog
food it was brilliant and genius and something that i thought should have been handled long ago
just in thought right couldn't get he couldn't get it off the ground yeah it was the best idea
in the world he couldn't get off the ground and then he came to me and said well who's more
valuable the person that creates the idea the person that can get it off the ground and i said oh that's yeah hey now you gotta talk buddy
i'm right i read an article about uh influencers uh getting underpaid um based on on race for the
most part um oh it's bad it's bad it's bad you know, the men and women that are creating the dance are often people of color.
And then the people that are disseminating the dance and making it pop are white people that are getting paid a billion times more, which is completely fucked up and unfair.
I was talking to somebody about two weeks ago about the MLC, MLC.com.
Not hip.
Yeah, I'm not sure about that one.
MLC.com, right? And I'm not sure about that one MLC dot com
right
and I'm
freestyling here
what the hell
is this
it ain't that
it ain't that
I'll find out
what it is
so don't quote me
but whatever
this is
I'm talking about
is
a company
that focuses
on
all of the streaming revenue that does not count towards
artists contracts yeah no exactly it's um i think i think it is mechanical licensing yeah yeah yeah
the second one mechanical licensing collective yep so to the contracts that streaming had nothing to do with that have been collecting royalties
and payments on streaming and for all of the artists worldwide who have never audited
that money is too much and it's just sitting somewhere yeah and it's too much to even be
accounted for so now there's this where you can start to get into some of those things and they divvy it up if
you're owed a check somewhere they get it to you i could probably make a phone call right now
mechanical licensing is one of the there's i can't remember the other example there's only a few
examples of jobs that are actually like uh in the fucking uh it's it's by law you have to get paid
mechanical licenses is one of them and it's a guaranteed payment have to get paid mechanical licenses
is one of them
and it's a guaranteed payment
regardless of what
the record sells
you gotta give me
my.9%
off of what though
like off of what number
would it be
do some research
because I'm not gonna
remember anything
I don't want to disseminate
that information
it don't matter
the long and short of it
is all of the money
that should be allocated
somewhere that artists are not claiming is sitting in a fund somewhere, just growing and collecting interest and not being paid out to anybody.
That's what's happening, right?
Joe's belief is that the industry probably has a class action lawsuit headed their way in the next 10 years.
They should.
People like me and Parks are going to get together and say, wait a minute, I put out 30 albums.
I never got no goddamn royalties on shit.
I didn't collect on a lot of it.
That stuff is still out there.
See, that's what I'm saying.
If you could read the tea leaves, then you could read the tea leaves.
And if you can't, then you can't. But if you can't, I'm saying if you could read the tea leaves then you could read the tea leaves and if you can't then you can't but if you can't I'm done explaining it to people if you don't understand how valuable ownership is and why it's valuable I can't explain it to you if you don't
see all the different avenues in which you can collect if you don't see all the different ways
that the economy is changing before our eyes i can't continue to
explain it to you but just know that the current spirit of deals is what's going to continue to
exist and evolve that swiss deal with timberland where they sold some shit and then gave everybody
rights right gave everybody equity that's the spirit of a deal that's the reincarnation of
what hove tried to do with title
uh over there when they did that really bad announcement that went out
but that was the spirit of what he was trying to do in 2021 i'm clearing energy
i need people around that get it this is not tomorrow we're in more i don't know just in general i need people
yeah in general and somebody that's building the network right because building a network
is what the tea leaves led me to i wasn't making an album with a rap saying let me build a network
right they hate when you get on this by the way but i want to dispel some of that is
uh he's got a couple youtube shows and that's a network i mean that's how you started network you know it's 2021 a funny thing about network is the reason i started my
podcast that i hated joe called me and said yo listen i want to build a podcast network i want
you to start one name somebody else you to start one you to start one if y'all can pull in these
amount of views a week we're gonna come together and it's gonna be under a network like so he had the network idea
years ago yeah and the idea of my network is we're not gonna take it right no we ain't gonna
take it done differently and when it's the whole premise of yo we're gonna get a bunch of people
that understand get it and won't take no for an answer everybody will build their individual asset
in a few years we'll all come together and see what those numbers are worth collectively i see
what our numbers are worth as one individual podcast and no they haven't been enough to
garner us what we want because they're still trying to include all of our rights.
I think that story looks different if you have five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten podcasts that are performing well.
I play this hand upside down.
You can see the play.
That's Joe's play.
And also performing well is relative, by the way, to the naysayers.
Profitable.
Yes.
Profitable.
Hey, you make it. You own a percentage of it. You profit all the way to the to the naysayers profitable yes profitable hey you make it you own a percentage of it you profit all the way that's it the contract is legible readable
understandable there's no tricks everybody get together do what they got to do and let's fight
the system the correct way but if one person even one person don't get that or understand it or see the plan,
then it don't work.
And for me, podcasting is a long game.
It is.
It's not a short game.
So is music for what it's worth.
No, I disagree with that.
You can hit a short lick in music and be gone and be done.
You cannot want nothing else to do with it.
I got my lick publishing forever.
That's it.
Certain styles of music is a long game.
Let me rephrase that but the problem in the music business today is the barrier for entry
is really low you don't have to love it you don't have to be good at it you don't have to anything
you just have to be profitable and in podcasting it's the same but it's a little different they're
snatching all these celebrities trying to make them podcasters.
They're not podcasters.
Yeah, correct.
They're celebrities.
Correct.
The celebrities are coming in and they're skewing the market.
They're taking lower
because it's probably less work.
Who knows?
But they're fucking it up
for the everyday Joe out there.
I used to say that and sound nuts.
It was a joke on this podcast,
me clowning Will Smith for like seven months.
But I was just angry at Will Smith.
You're too big of a superstar to come over here finagling around.
I'm trying to get a hundred million out here.
You have several of those.
I know.
That's the same thing that happens with DJing and music in general,
when a TV show celebrity or something gets into djing
and they're not doing anything they have a playlist already set up maybe even with transitions and
scratches that someone else did and there's hit and play anyway i digress don't digress i love
this hey even deeper than that this would this was joe's problem hey when i speak in third person
but this was my problem when not problem, but a problem
that I saw coming when all of the fine girls started taking the shorts to do hostings.
Mm hmm.
Joe was on the edge of his seat in a panic.
My little $3,035 hosting paid the bills for a month.
If you could go get the fine girl to come do it for fucking five grand, three grand, whatever.
Oh, it's skewing the whole market.
And hey, I got to go do something.
It's the OnlyFans fight with Bella Thorne.
It's Spotify and everybody else's fight with Apple.
Hey, man, why you get to take
30%
of our shit
I know what 30% is
I need that
Apple's like
fam we're the community
we're
we're
we are
we are the economy
we created this
this is the price
and they pay it
get on the lay down and they pay it. Get on the lay down.
And they pay it.
Listen, man, I don't want to be on an hour long rant.
We're at an hour now.
I miss the guys.
I love the guys.
And hopefully the fans will allow time
for whatever is happening to actually happen.
Like we're friends at the end of the day.
And that's where the issue lie.
Oh, that's what I was doing. I was trying to give the fans
some of the issue because I'm leaning into transparency.
Let me give them a little bit. Let me give them a little dose.
Let me give them a little. Y'all nervous. They don't know
where I'm at. They nervous
out. They don't know where this is headed.
You wore all black. I knew what time it was.
I've been wearing all black. Don't do that.
I've been wearing all black. I've seen the
energy. Listen, man.
I can't speak for nobody else.
When we record a pod, I go home and I listen to it.
And I watch at least 90 minutes of it.
Of every pod.
Now, I learned long ago, you can't crucify people for not being built like you if i didn't know
that push your t-set right here not right here push your t-set it when we interviewed him
yo man i can't expect everybody to be built like me we come from different
different um places i am a lunatic with this stuff i obsess over it i stare at numbers i get a calculator i'm a dropout
this is where i get to play with numbers i almost laugh at old joe who said hey i don't care about
numbers well nigga you better numbers man right here hey by the time i was saying i don't care
about numbers the artists were using advanced analytics to figure out the cities they should tour in.
Yeah.
Based off the numbers.
Know what I was doing?
Yo, they fuck with me in Connecticut.
Yo, in Boston, they give it up.
They give it up when I hit the Middle East.
Virginia should come out.
Ooh, Virginia Beach. These new niggas run around with math and science. Hit the Middle East. Virginia should come out. Ooh.
Virginia Beach.
These new niggas run around with math and science.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee was just waiting for us.
Oh, come on, Pittsburgh.
Never showing up.
Yo.
I don't remember what I was saying. But at some point, analytics and numbers and all this shit.
You were getting the transparency of why Rory and Will haven't been with us
Oh yeah yeah yeah so listen man I'm watching
every episode I'm listening to every episode
for the past
six weeks
I gotta be honest
it's been rough
hey and it may have been rough
even before that but this is only my brain
they're not here so i'm just it's been hard there's been tension
you speak to it what the fuck i keep talking you've been here visible and audible tension
that some we we play around a lot we we joke on each other we you know we clown you you know
being depressed music and all that kind of shit.
But behind that may have been some serious shit.
I got to make a face because I love documentation.
Two years ago when I said a joke ain't a joke if we never get serious,
that's the fuck I was talking about.
That.
Words have meaning and power.
Sure.
Energy.
Yeah, it travels.
If we're going to do that in here.
It transfers.
Hey, guys.
This outfit has grown way bigger than sit here and joke on Joe.
Well, we still got to cut some jokes on you.
Sorry, man.
You have to.
You earned that.
You earned that. You earned that.
You earned that.
But you got jokes on us, man.
You're missing it.
You're missing it.
I know what you're saying.
Let's keep it all the way 100, though.
At some point, you saying six weeks ago or two, three months ago, the fans started to
notice.
They did.
Come on, man.
The fans started to notice.
Come on.
Yeah.
And we coming in here with LARP
I learned that word on some
that phrase on some doc I watch
we coming in here with live
action role play
was it the QAnon doc?
yes
I learned that one too
it was the QAnon doc
you didn't watch the QAnon doc? no I didn't watch the QAnon, dawg. Fucking nerds. Fucking nerds. You didn't watch the QAnon,
dawg?
No,
I didn't watch the QAnon.
Those racist fucks,
they hate us.
I don't even know
who the fuck QAnon is.
They're going to kill you.
They're going to eradicate us.
But I'm watching that
and I heard that term.
Live action role play
and I said,
ding.
That's your bag.
That's what,
no,
it's not my bag.
You move that mic away from me
for the last however long i feel like that's what we've been coming in here doing which is live
action role play by now people know who maul is or assume to know who he is they assume to know
who i am they assume to know who rory is and we come in here and we act under the guise of
friendship but for us to be friends you got to continue to do things to maintain the friendship
I agree so at some point if we stop talking if we don't talk at all because me and Maul maybe
don't talk but well that's not true we talk but when the business talks start to outweigh the
friendship talks there's a problem and that's where we've been for the last,
because it's successful.
Everyone's busy.
Everyone's busy.
You go about your life.
You're doing shit.
You get into your interests and your passions.
And you want to get away from work, you know?
Yeah, but when your friends become work.
No doubt.
No.
I mean, I can't speak for y'all,
but I wouldn't see this as work.
A lot of people don't.
But it is.
Again, I don't sit in this seat often.
But it is.
Yeah.
But it is.
I looked Rory in the eye and I said, yo, and this has nothing to do with podcasting.
I said, yo, I have no idea what's going on with you and your house, your relationship status.
I don't know anything that's going on in your life.
And he said, well, why do you have to? your relationship status. I don't know anything that's going on in your life.
And he said,
well, why do you have to?
I come up, I show up,
I do my job,
I perform,
and I go.
I understand that.
I get that if we're coworkers.
But no.
I understand that if we're coworkers. But no.
But no. It's a fine line that we tried to hear. But no. I understand that if we coworkers. But no. But no.
It's a fine line that we tried to hear.
But no.
Yeah.
I need to know what the fuck is going on with Parks so I know how to handle Parks.
So I know how to treat Parks.
So I know how to view him.
And so I know how to covet and protect him as a friend.
not to put me in a position where i'm coming in here and i gotta tiptoe around parks who may or might may or may not be a ticking fucking time bomb three years ago we all sat
and gave our assessment on who was a serial killer in the profile and who was not and y'all heard me
i said rory's a serial killer i said in my assessment in my profile I have Rory as the one
who will shoot any of us in the head
if his day gets a little bit too disgruntled
you gotta handle your friends with care
you gotta have some type of profile
on your people so you know
what's going on with them
that can't get lost in the fact that we come here and show up and talk twice a week
it can't I'm sorry
at some point we to get to the friendship
because that's where the business spawned from.
And it can't ever get reversed.
It can't ever get to we're friends
because there's business.
And speaking from my perspective only,
and like I told them all, I've made some mistakes.
I'm not perfect.
But when I see that
happening I intervene I can't allow it I got to get on top of that so when six weeks in a row
happened of Rory challenging me to a fight and his hands and me not being so comfortable in that
because I don't necessarily play like that and I I'm listening back. And to me, I'm being expressive saying, yo, man, I don't play like that with my friends.
And on the playback, I hear him say, yeah, but what if we're not friends?
Whoa, I got to take a look at that.
That's for Joe to pause.
That ain't for me to think that we in podcast showy, chuckyucky kaki kaka game time what if we not friends
excuse me just gotta lean back just gotta lean back when that happens for however many weeks
at some point you gotta intervene and say all right maybe something is deeper maybe something
deeper is going on maybe there's a reason that he feel we're not friends or maybe there's a reason that he wants
to fight or maybe there's a, and this is just on a surface level here, right? But when you notice
that and you attempt to address it, things could get crazy. I attempt to do address it, man. I
hit Rory and say, yo dog, do me a favor take a couple pods off chill out
sit on the side get yourself together gather your thoughts confer with confer with your people
just chill i'm hearing rumblings people might be tired burnt out don't get the vision don't
understand i don't know i don't know i don't know but whatever it is sit down for a little
bit get yourself together,
reconvene,
see if this is what you want to do.
I thought that that was a good thing to do
for a multitude of reasons.
And I think Rory felt like that was a good idea too.
I'm not speaking for him,
he's not here,
but I think he liked that idea.
I feel like he expressed,
he maybe didn't know why,
he expressed being okay with it. All the reasons it was happening, but I think he watched, sorry R feel like he expressed he maybe didn't know why okay with it all the reasons it was happening but i think he watched you know i'm
speaking you are bad rory but i think rory watched it and he was a little perturbed with some things
he saw too but that's not the end of the problem when you're in the business of managing personalities
because now when i see ma, a man of principle, a man of honor,
Maul's question is
an honorable one. Yo, dog,
what makes you think
that you can tell Rory
to not come in the
fucking pod for a little bit?
Why are you the person
that can tell Rory
to sit home?
That's the talk me and Maul had.
And I got to be honest, it didn't go to grace.
It did not.
It did not.
It did not.
Didn't go to grace.
Yeah, I could have told you.
You have a really good tendency of seeing an open wound and-
Don't do that.
Throwing an entire can of salt on it.
Out of defense.
No, that's Joe.
That's Joe.
I don't know if that happened.
It did.
It did.
I was there.
I was there.
I was there.
Joe has a tendency.
I think it's a defense mechanism mechanism but that's just what you do
you don't mince words
you say what you feel
and it might not be the best thing to say
at that particular time
when you're dealing with
when you're dealing with people that you have
relationships with
what do you agree with
what's your take on this what's your stance on this well I know I have a fucked up viewpoint you have relationships with. I disagree. Well, what do you agree with?
What's your take on this?
What's your stance on this?
Well, I know I have a fucked up viewpoint.
It's true.
So you should shut the fuck up.
But I want to hear it.
I have a fucked up viewpoint.
And Marla's somebody that I've been knowing for a very long time. We all have here.
And obviously, we know how Joe communicates.
So I don't take any of it. Me either. Personal. I don't take any of it.
Me either.
Personal.
I don't take any of it.
But you can't tell someone else to not.
But what I do know is that
if we have over a decade long relationship,
business, friendship,
listen, me and Joe have had crazy conversations.
I'm sure.
So have me and Joe.
On air sometimes.
Right. We have not had a crazy conversations. I'm sure. So have me and Joe. Right. On air sometimes. Right.
We have not had a crazy conversation.
No, we had a
editing conversation on air that...
Yeah.
Right.
We did?
Yeah, we did.
It was on Patreon.
Patreon.
I don't remember that.
It was on the Patreon.
Yeah.
When he was fighting for a raise.
Yeah.
I wasn't fighting for a raise.
Park was fighting for a raise?
No.
You was like,
hey, I'm fighting a raise
for a raise for Parks.
I need a raise for Parks? That was the conversation. You can go back and listen. But I always need a raise for Parks?
That was the conversation.
You can go back and listen.
But I always need a raise for Parks.
Y'all, I don't think y'all understand.
I need a raise for everybody.
I need a raise for everybody that comes in here
and that has contributed
and that's here for the long haul
and helped to build this thing into what it is.
And to be clear, again, for those that are listening,
Rory and Maul's stance has not been
financial.
In their beef. At least outwardly.
Maybe there's some hints of that in
what their beef is. Who knows what their beef is?
It ain't a beef. Nobody's communicated a beef.
What they have communicated is
something is wrong.
Whether that be in our friendship,
how we're handling each other,
how we're caring for each other,
speaking to each other,
the respect level.
Yo,
fam,
I've been in relationships where I felt like the response,
once the respect level is gone,
kaput.
Yeah.
Once your view of that person or the situation is not the same,
it's done.
I've been in relationships where, yo, I'm the fucking boss and I'm the man everywhere I go in my life except for when I get back home.
It's only you that views me as this trash piece of shit scum.
That doesn't feel good.
I've been in relationships where I was getting my feel-good sources from outside of the relationship.
Sure.
Like, all of this shit is like relationship management.
It is.
And again, you're men.
You're men.
You're not talking all the time.
Yeah.
Men are bad communicators.
Men are fucking terrible.
We're idiots, man.
Terrible.
We're terrible.
We're idiots.
And then we just go all the time.
Yeah, we go.
We haven't really had a moment to do anything, to really talk on that aspect, because the
turnaround is so quick.
That's true, too.
You know, we came off the tour, then we got hit with a pandemic, and now we're scrambling
on how to give the best content from home.
While everybody else is down, we still going.
Yeah.
And then we come back, Parks moves.
It's been a whole moving train that has not stopped.
Yeah, bro, it gets COVID,
I get COVID, man,
it gets COVID.
The network, Spotify.
Spotify leaves.
It's a lot going on.
No watches.
That is a deal.
What's my right to this?
Still don't have a watch.
What's happening?
Yeah.
A lot of room and holes
for miscommunication
for just not being
on the same page collectively.
Well, this is why Joe's number one thing to start a podcast is friendship,
chemistry, camaraderie.
For sure.
Because you're going to go through some things that if you're not cool with
somebody, fuck you.
Fuck you, nigga.
That's my position on it.
Right.
Well, that's not true, man.
Listen, I called Maul before this podcast
cause I wanna hear from Maul
and Rory on the pod I called up Maul
I said listen Duke
if you never do this podcast again we gotta
talk
hey let me get out
of my stubborn shit
cause we both men of principle if this podcast
shoot to shit fuck these fans
nigga not fuck y'all.
We love y'all.
But it ain't about them.
We are friends.
We got to talk.
He totally agreed.
As I assume a man of principle would.
Wall's a reasonable man.
As is Rory.
Rory and I spoke.
Listen, allow time, Grace.
Let everybody go get together and figure this shit out.
But I just felt the fans were owed an explanation.
Listen, Rory and Maul, they may have felt a way about something,
so they upped and made a move.
I've been there before.
I'm the guy to champion that.
I'm never going to be against that, even if it's against me.
Right.
Like, I pulled that move too many times to not understand it.
I get it.
And grace should be allowed.
One.
Two.
While I'm having transparent conversation, I'm certain that male ego is a conversation piece in here somewhere.
Oh, yeah, of course.
It's a room full of testosterone.
Yeah.
I want to hear you talk about some shit.
I want to hear.
I'm done.
Yeah, I'm done talking.
You're another day one.
Yeah, yeah.
You're here.
It's ego.
There's some of that involved for sure.
I can speak to the ego part.
Listen.
From Joe's perspective, only talking about ego
not saying that ego is a problem but I think that
men should be able to it sucks that I have to
preface everything I say
but male ego should be spoken
about let's deal with the
dynamic that exists
I'm a retired
rapper these niggas almost
forced me to a verse
whom Maul, ory you sin shade room say von
like i have my shots i have my shots that i want to. It's some shit that you can't say in words that you can say in a rap that makes things okay.
Yeah, that's true.
And Joe has always ever just used rap to live and be expressive.
Right.
If I wrote a rap right now, I almost called you Saturday.
But I know the power that that wields.
What's the word?
Wields.
Wields.
You can't just get to talking and talking until you can. You can't do that, man. wields. What's the word? Wields.
You can't just get to talking and talking until you can. You can't
do that, man. This shit's important.
But back to male ego.
Everyone has an ego. I come from a place
where
I am confident.
We're all confident.
But why?
We're good at what we do.
Well, that's where you get into it. That's where you get into it. I'm good at what we do well that's where you get into it that's where you're gonna do it
and the shit's work i'm good at what i do that's what i say you are let me tell you something i
think i was one of the best rappers to ever grace a microphone ever i think you would have a hard
time finding 100 rappers number three they'll fuck you up they you i think you would find you would be hard-pressed to find a hundred
rappers that rap better than joe that's my own opinion right but that don't mean nothing because
we all mean nothing i'm not entitled to anything if somebody wanted to make an argument against
that they could they could you didn't sell records you ain't got awards you ain't bad whatever you say
i would understand it yeah but they they did a divide awards after i won it it's fucked up so
i understand it right however my some of my confidence comes from i have successfully successfully built like nine shows hey if i'm over exaggerating let's say six
when i walk in certain places it's not because i was the best rapper
it's because i built a show at revolt and it changed the spirit of business at revolt as a
whole as a company i built everyday struggle with complex and it changed the spirit of business at Revolt as a whole, as a company.
I built Everyday Struggle with Complex, and it changed the spirit of business.
I think these gentlemen think the same way.
The company.
I think these gentlemen think the same way. Well, that's what I'm getting into.
Yeah.
And that's why you have to talk through ego.
Mm-hmm.
That's where a lot of Joe ego come from.
My ego come from, yo, I build shit and it goes
and it changes business
for companies, right?
So when I walk in,
you will respect me as such
or I will leave.
Some people take it as ego.
Take it how you want.
Cool.
It's knowing your worth.
I won't speak for Maul
because he's not here.
But I can guess
that Maul probably feels like, hey,
I hear you, dogs.
Shit wasn't like this before I got here.
Yo, that shit fly, whatever you
saying.
But this shit wasn't so
fly before I was here. I remember
what was going on before I got here.
He was here. He has a right to
voice that opinion. And he's not wrong in that. He's right. Yeah before I got here. He was there. Yep. He has a right to voice that opinion.
And he's not wrong in that.
He's right.
Yeah.
I get that.
Yeah.
I watched Rory and his little friends
make all y'all niggas
drink at one o'clock
in the afternoon.
Good times.
What a talent.
What a talent.
Hey,
I don't care.
The Barclays was the end of the run, but the fun times were in the beginning.
Yeah.
If y'all don't get it.
The Barclays.
Hey, who?
I don't even care if the business don't work there.
The business might not work.
When you start doing numbers, it might not be the most profitable thing.
I don't know.
I wasn't involved, but I know that helps create an ego sure absolutely right let's leave all those three things there
i'll pull from my experience when you have a right to ego some people have ego and it's not warranted
when you have a right to ego, you'll fuck girls.
Okay.
All right, all right.
I'm trying to... Y'all don't hear me.
Y'all don't hear me.
Y'all don't hear me.
Listen to what I'm saying.
Y'all don't really hear me, though.
Bring it home.
Girls like ego, yeah.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Women like ego, maybe.
Women like stability. Women like ego, maybe. Women like stability.
Women like comfort.
Women like protection.
Women like having their worries alleviated so they can get into whatever their women duties are,
whether that be their passions, hobbies, domesticated shit.
Women like when a man can provide and protect and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
So women normally like due to have a reason to have some ego.
Sure.
Okay.
They don't realize that adds to the ego.
You fine as hell.
What?
Helps.
I assume assuming
everyone is fucking bad bitches now
I know what it comes with
I know how I feel when I walk in the strip club
and my bitch badder than the bitches there
talk to him Joe
don't talk to me
no you talk to him
my bitch too bad for me to talk to him Joe don't talk to me no you talk to him my bitch too bad
for me to talk to him
what comes with that
when the girl is bad
and the business is right enough
for your ego to be in a place
comes talking and whispers
comes admirers
competitors and enemies
coming to you saying oh no trying to get
like you
I'm trying to be
like you I know you got them
doors to different rooms start
opening Rory proposed at the
Roc Nation brunch
I didn't I proposed at the Beacon Theater somewhere, but even that is some kind of fly.
I proposed at the Beacon Theater in Times Square.
That's cute.
I proposed at a Colombian restaurant in Elmhurst or something.
Hey.
But that was fly to me.
It was fly to her, most importantly.
I proposed when I didn't think it would work, when we had a season finale to film.
I proposed when I thought it would work,
and maybe it wouldn't have worked at all
if I was really looking at things.
Where do you get your perspective from?
I've gone to court for child support.
I've gone to court for allegations.
I've gone to court as a defendant.
I've gone to court as a prosecutor. I've gone to court as a prosecutor.
I've gone to court for a civil suit.
I've gone to court.
Seeking civil remedies.
I'm just saying.
We're on both sides.
Where do you pull your shit from?
I understand, man.
I understand.
Is there anything that I'm missing in any of this ego stuff?
You get money.
You get girls.
You get arrogant.
Certain shit is beneath you.
It's unacceptable now.
Things change.
Friends change.
Groups change.
Clubs change.
Sceneries change.
Everything changes.
Access changes.
Everything changes.
Listen, if I'm just freestyling off the top of the head,
I don't know that Mo and Rory don't know that fucking I'm not funding
my whole network based off their blood, sweat, and tears.
That's not something to get angry at.
That's something to look at.
That's something to assess.
That's something to say, whoa, that's valid.
that's something to assess that's something to say whoa that's valid i'm saying that as the guy who worked places and had to kick in doors to get some information about what was going on
oh shit that's what's happening over there yeah man if i felt like somebody somewhere was funding
a network off of my back and i'm not getting paid from the network guess what buddy i'm coming in
with an issue right Hey, they keep seeing
Corey pop up. How do I know that they don't
know that Corey ain't on the payroll? I don't know.
They might think Corey's getting paid.
I did. Huh? I said I did.
I thought so for sure when I saw Corey. Why?
Just because it changed.
He's always been there.
Even if he ain't there, he's there.
Dill ain't here right now. He's still there.
It's people around. But that's where you start getting into the smack it's the the smack in the face of some things
like i know what's going on in the state of the country i know what everyday americans are going
through trying to feed their families i know the work that has to be put in to receive certain
benefits and accolades
shit i know what these companies are asking for when they offer all these millions they're asking
for rights and joe's always just fighting for rights so i mean i have a clear understanding
of what's going on everybody in whatever their situation is has to have a clear understanding of what's going on to lend their participation
right correct period the end nothing more to be said about it and that's where we land
i gave you 90 minutes of what's going on some of the more intricate details hopefully i didn't
offend or disrespect anybody they say that's the thing with me. I don't know. It didn't come across that way.
I think you did pretty good.
Hopefully not. Listen, man.
All Joe is ever saying is,
listen, I want to compete, number one.
And I want to
compete with my friends.
I don't want to compete with people
that's just willing to come in here because this is
a multi-million dollar business.
I've never been interested in doing music or anything otherwise with people that I'm not,
I don't fuck with.
It's not fun.
Why am I doing it?
I don't do that for that.
You celebrate.
I don't do music because of anything.
I do it because of the personal interaction with me and the people I work with.
And the same with podcasting.
Well, you celebrate with the people that were there when you never imagined things would be like this.
Right.
And you celebrate with people that you have a like minded goal in mind with because, you know, all it takes to get to whatever that goal is.
And this shit takes a lot, man.
Like I told you all these last few weeks, I'm no longer coming in here trying to be number one.
I'm trying to get it.
Make sure everybody's OK.
coming in here trying to be number one i'm trying to get it make sure everybody's okay i'm trying to make sure everybody's profitable valuable and everybody has enough to feel good
about what they're doing coming in here on a day-to-day and so you understand it understand
it don't just look at joe and say he's a lunatic like know what we up against know what we fighting
know what they charging listen i've been home all weekend, man, do y'all think that I come in here and scream at the DSPs and YouTube and everybody else and that stuff don't come with a cost?
It comes at a price.
Maybe a price that others are not willing to bear.
Or they're not aware of.
Or they're not aware of.
But it comes at a price it's a price
that i willingly pay for like i'm cool with that i had to come out of my pocket to pay spotify when
we went on tour think about it for a minute we went on. I've been a little bit aware of that. We went on a million dollar tour.
If you add dates, a multi-million dollar tour.
And because of whatever agreement existed, I had to pay a portion of it to Spotify.
Because they thought that they played a part in why we were able to sell out tours.
Even though you were selling out tours prior to Spotify.
Yeah.
That don't matter.
Guess what?
That's cold.
That's the game.
That's the game.
The business game is wild.
Listen, I've done love and hip hop when my profile was all the way low and the business
was bad.
I've done love and hip hop when my profile was all the way up and the business was great.
In both instances, I went through some shit
when the business was bad
and we wasn't getting paid
I couldn't believe
that I was doing
Burlington Coat Factory commercials
I didn't even know
I could do that
love and hip hop said
we have the rights to everything
and we put you where we want
we own this
we'll repurpose it
hey when they started
showing reunions every year like embarrassing footage i was ashamed of i was like
hey man stop that and they said no they said look at the contract yeah we own all this we have the
right to this we're putting it out every year like clockwork people watch this shit
hey when my business was right and my profile was right
loving hip-hop called back like they've been calling back hey we want you and your partner
i went to my partner i said yo loving hip-hop want us for this number i think it's pennies and i think
we could do it ourselves and make money go get a deal we tv TV anywhere. My partner said, eh, that's not so appealing to me.
I don't want to do anything myself.
That system exists.
We could be inserted there and be paid immediately.
Well, yeah, we could.
But you're giving up a lot.
Boy, does it come at a cost.
I can't be in a predicament where I'm explaining that to anybody.
Yeah.
Not my significant other, not my son's mothers, not my parents.
Not the fans.
Not the fans, not my co-hosts, not my coworkers, not managers, not companies.
If you go ask around, Joe, draw a hard line out there.
Hey, everybody want the podcast joe say
no do your googles the word is out on how joe give it up it's a lot it's a lot because i know
what it takes for everybody involved to become millionaires two times three times over it's
expensive hey it's like that shit that Russ
and a few other rappers, Brent Fires,
a few people put out,
what a million dollars looks like
when you're a rapper.
It's the very same thing.
Do the math.
A million dollars, you take away X,
you take away X, you take away X,
you take away X, it turns into 400 grand.
Now you got to get a car and some jewelry
and a better crib and now you're left with 50 grand and now go Instagram
make it look good
well we done in that we not in that business
we not in that business of
making things
look good for the people that don't mean
anything to anything
I come in here same
watch hey
at the time that I fought for this watch and saved to buy this watch and had to get a proposal turned down to take the ring money and go get this watch.
This was the watch I wanted.
This was the watch that I might have been wearing the fake of.
This is the watch that cost $50,000.
And how on earth would I ever get $50,000 to pay for a watch?
Today I can go buy any watch, but guess what?
My brain is so different today.
If anybody's looking to see where Joe's money is out there, it's in the streets.
If you're searching and you're confused, if you think I'm broke, if you think I'm rich,
what's he doing?
What's going on?
What's the plan every dime of mine drug game y'all is back in the street it's back in potting the shit is
expensive mandy bridget fucking karen fucking stock over here roy said whoever the fuck we
talking to potting is expensive no need for me to come in here with a bunch of jewelry
on the science
behind it is same as drugs
same as drugs let's put me back in the hood
back in the hood
and I got the best drugs on the block
flip it off nobody
in this whole hood
has better drugs
than Joe.
Well, what do you do
when you get to the top
of the food chain?
Like, if I have the best drugs
on the block
and this is all the money
that it's bringing to me,
then what the fuck good
does this do?
I have to find a way to expand.
That's right.
You reinvest in yourself
to expand.
That's why people
get to stepping on drugs.
Joe always look at, hey, when people at the top of the food chain, what's happening?
Just the way I'm sure podcasters are looking at us.
They're at the top of the food chain.
What's going on with them?
When I spoke to him, we was on Slaughterhouse.
I was miserable talking to him.
He was at the top of the food chain.
Let me get some information.
And talking to him, that shit sounded miserable.
I tell that story all the time.
You sell all the records in the world you're a hostage in your house you can't go nowhere it costs 10 million dollars to travel you don't know who to trust you don't have people you don't
have bitches you have nobody you can just rhyme words i ain't working so hard to get to the top
and that happened no no that's not going like that. So listen, man, allow grace, allow space for our brothers who are not here, who will be here.
Joe says maybe in a matter of a month.
I think it'll take about a month for things to get right where they need to be.
Joe looks for the blessing and the optimism and things i think that when my brothers return
this thing will be better than it's ever been then i'm back to talking my shit back to saying
you podcasters have a problem i'm back to all of that but for right now it's about preserving friendships not preserving business not preserving podcasts not preserving audience
it's making sure the people that you built this thing with are okay and that they have
enough information and understanding enough and enough respect from you
to get some things to decide if they want to continue.
It's what women always say.
Yo, man, if you want to cheat, if you want to fuck girls,
go ahead and fuck them, but come give me the option.
And we always say, well, what sense does that make?
Why the hell would we do that?
Right.
But that's where we land man
did I do a good job
did I overshare
no you did great
I think you did
are people feeling
Rory Ball we love you
you know
we love you guys
man
we're holding it
y'all still my guys
I am not trying to
replace nobody
we're holding it down
until you get back
until you get right
I'm just
the show must go on
is there for a reason
that's it
we're gonna still deliver
yeah
because then if you don't
put something out
yeah
right
imagine why y'all
trying to figure this
whole situation out
and then your stock drops
and it's just dark
right
now y'all might get
killed even more
or you might lose
the audience regardless
but when you do this
at least like you said
you give them the option
well I had a few people saying saying and tweeting yo dawg Well, you might lose the audience regardless. Exactly. But when you do this, at least, like you said, you give them the option.
Well, I had a few people saying and tweeting, yo, dog, if the fellas take off, do yourself a favor and take off too.
Just give us a break.
No.
You definitely can't do that.
It don't work like that.
That's not my position.
That's not where I stand.
That's not what I want to do.
It has to continue
now has to it will continue differently and it will never be the same as when the guys were here
but that's what makes it magic or are here you know yeah but that's what makes it magic they'll
be back yeah yeah uh but that's what makes it magic when a certain collective of people
can put something out
that's just a little different
that's just a little different
so listen
as fans of the pod
some of y'all are day ones
y'all only have to bear
with it being different
until we allow our guys
the time, grace, and space
to get right
get their headspace right
so they can come back in here
and do what they do
but until then stop hitting me asking me where the fuck Mo here and do what they do. But until then, stop hitting me,
asking me where the fuck Moe and Rory is.
They chilling.
It's none of your business.
Go ask them where they at.
They'll tell you, yo, we chilling.
Everything is cool.
Let us get it together.
The end.
What'd you think?
You're going to be in business with somebody
for six, seven years and not go through this?
That's it.
Yeah, man.
Everybody chill out, man.
Got the squad nervous.
Y'all nervous.
The girls nervous.
My dad is nervous.
There's going to be a point
where y'all looking back on this
and yo, remember we had the bullshit?
He's going to laugh over it.
We're going to laugh. So this too going past. Fans, y'all looking back on this and, yo, remember we had the bullshit? He's going to laugh over it. Yeah. We're going to laugh.
So this too going past.
Fans, y'all will be cool.
Everybody's going to be straight, man.
Just get a fellow some time.
That's it.
That's it.
Now, Raekwon Ghostface.
Hey, man, give me some verbal discourse.
We back.
We back.
Right into the verses.
Right into the verses.
All right. what we got?
Ray Kwon, what was this? Saturday, right?
Saturday night.
Saturday night on Triller.
First one on Triller.
Yo, check it out.
I accidentally saw this on Instagram.
I didn't even know what was happening.
Man, I don't need a DJ. I'm sorry, Del.
Y'all ask what I'm playing in, man. I got parts get his shit up, alright? This is culture.
To me.
I know, I know.
This is you.
I thought about, I saw this, like I said, I didn't even know what was happening.
I accidentally, I'm on Instagram.
I said, Versus is live? I clicked and I seen these two. I said, oh didn't even know it was happening. I accidentally, I'm on Instagram, I said, Versus is live?
I clicked and I seen these two.
I said, oh, okay.
Parks.
And be clear, I don't give a fuck about the playlist.
Really, I mean, I do because I love all these songs for the most part.
I don't give a fuck about the battle aspect.
Right.
I could sit and listen to Ghost and Ray talk shit over soul samples for like six hours straight and not have no problem.
It'd be good.
Everything sounded like the interludes off purple tape.
They were like
holding two different conversations
at the same time
and it wasn't weird.
That shit was incredible.
Record for record
because it is a versus.
It is a versus.
So I want to ask you,
who would you say won?
I'm going to say this is my favorite rapper, but it was close, man. It was close. It was a lot. I didn't, you, who would you say won?
Ghostface is my favorite rapper, but it was close, man.
It was close.
I didn't give Ray enough credit, man.
I did not give Ray Kwan enough credit.
I thought Ghost was just going to
smoke his boobs.
Woo Fan, this is your shit, but you thought
seeing the two of them that...
Ghostface has a way bigger solo discography.
Way bigger and way more commercial success.
Way more fucking different...
He did R&B records.
He did grungy hip-hop records.
He did rock live band records.
Yeah, I'm not saying they never rock.
Wasn't he with a rock group?
They did some rock shit.
Damn, I can't remember the name of the group right now.
I don't mean to...
No disrespect to them.
But he did a whole band record.
So I was like,
Ghostface got to win this. Raekwon has a couple solo albums maybe three or four maybe five i don't want
disrespect ray's solo catalog but ghost has like 10 and he had major labels behind him the whole
time everything he's got neo records kanye records everything right right so i thought ghost is gonna
just run away but it was it was pretty close for the most part, man, from a battle perspective.
But like I said, that was not even the point.
The point was just seeing them sit there and kick it and kick all that fly shit that they kicked together.
You was in heaven.
Oh, man.
But it wasn't even just me.
My girl was 26 years old she don't know
shit about wu-tang and she was sitting there like i like these guys man she was sitting there like
she was like i like these guys they're fun because like even at the end when they started
doing like they're just playing classic uh soul records you know whatever the old rappers are fun
man they're fun like when they get past all of the,
whatever we viewed them as the older rappers are fun.
It was good to see Ray and ghost at this age for me.
Yeah.
One thing about Ray and ghost is they always maintain their,
their cool.
Like,
like even now,
you know,
they,
they,
they don't have sucker moments where they looked crazy and yo,
these things look like they bugging. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no moments where they look crazy and, yo, these things look like they's bugging.
They always look cool.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
No?
No.
And I meant to say this last week, but I didn't because it was more pertinent things to get to.
But they so cool, right, that when they try to create the moment, to me, it looks corny.
I don't think they tried to do that at all.
Yeah, I don't know.
When did they try to do that
last week
no no no
last week
oh the lead up
yeah okay
then that's fine
I'm not dissing
that was versus
telling them to do some shit
for me I know
but I'm an old dude
so it's hilarious
I know that that's versus
that told y'all to do that
y'all are friends
but what it comes off is
as
what it comes off is
is what it came off as
which was Ghost saying yo you know I'm bringing my sharpest knife for you is as what it comes off is, is what it came off as,
which was Ghost saying,
yo, you know,
I'm bringing my sharpest knife for you.
And then Ghost said,
you know, I mean,
Ray said I got something deadly for you when you do that.
Like it was,
y'all love each other.
No, no, no, you can't do that.
No, because listen,
you were in,
you were in,
I liked it.
You were in Slaughterhouse.
I was there in those conversations.
I'm going to take your head off on this shit.
Like y'all did that shit.
So when they were describing that part of the verses,
they're like,
yo,
we had nine MCs with us plus other people.
No,
no,
no.
We were competitive the whole time.
You're absolutely right.
But back to your Slaughterhouse example.
Yeah.
If,
if 30 years went by and then me and Royce got on the phone and did that, I would expect the new kids to laugh at us a little bit.
Nah.
Nah.
Look at this guy.
Nah, I got to disagree with that.
Nah, I'm still coming to take your head off.
I don't care that we fucking brothers.
Yeah, we can.
They love each other.
Yeah.
Right.
You never thought they were coming to take each other's heads off.
But they were.
No, they weren't.
Yes, they were.
Oh, please. Yes, they were. Oh, please.
Yes, they were.
They're competitive.
They're competitive.
No, it wasn't.
I wasn't even scoring this versus.
Me either.
What are you talking about?
They're not.
Oh, shut up.
They were not competitive.
They love each other.
Nah, they were trying to take each other's heads off.
You can't be competitive with your brother?
Look, bring up that line up again.
Bring up that line up.
That'll show you the competitiveness. You can bring up competitive with your brother. Bring up that lineup again. Bring up that lineup. That'll show you the competitiveness.
You can bring up whatever you want.
When Ray said, before Ray played Incarcerated.
You played Special Delivery.
He comes right back with Skewing on the Barbie.
I'm trying to come right back at you.
That's not, I'm going to give you this one because Special Delivery is a classic.
Before Ray played Incarcerated, Scarface is.
He says some shit like, all right, now I got to destroy you with this one.
He played Mighty Healthy,
which is a fucking banger.
Kanye sampled,
mad people have sampled
that record.
Fucking Action Bronson
got his whole style
and the way he ad-libs
from that record.
And then Ray came back
with Incarcerated Scarfaces.
It's like,
this is a win for Ghostface.
No question.
So I got to come back
with my strongest record.
It's like, fuck.
I am trying to compete.
Yes, I'm trying to compete. I'm trying to compete.
You're trying to take your head off.
Or else I go play some bullshit.
Do you know what
incarcerated scar faces is?
Right.
That's my point.
I never saw Parks like this.
It's a good point.
This is my shit.
This is my era.
This is my shit.
I'm not gonna lie.
What?
I've seen Parks
in a lot of different bags.
I have not seen Parks like this.
This is my shit.
I'm happy to just see Parks before.
Damn,
all right.
Parks won the versus,
all right?
It was for me.
You really didn't
know this was for me.
When incarcerated
Scarfaces came on,
Ghostface said,
you got that,
walked back to his chair
with his head soaked down.
Yeah,
what can you do?
That's incarcerated Scarface.
Stop, stop, stop.
Stop, stop, stop.
No, no, no, no.
That's incarcerated Scar scar faces done by my
friend if that's not his friend and incarcerated scar faces come on we good we as viewers get to
watch him have to deal with that like like in the gucci jeezy battle yeah y'all not friends
nothing to do you got to deal with this song not violence not street stuff you have to
deal with this song i personally never got that from this incarcerated scar faces how do you take
that i take it the same way ghost told me he would take it in the preliminary which is ghost said
yo when that come on i gotta grab a casket like you get a body for that when that come on
they know what
each other did
that's better
but it was fun to watch
it was fun to watch
what Parks
I'll ask you
cause you championing this thing
what did you think of
the viewership
I don't give a fuck
and I don't know
what the numbers are
because
I don't know that people
are running
I saw people saying
yo it's only 100,000 people in here
I don't know how many people run to the Instagram to watch that shit where you actually see the number and I don't know that people are running. I saw people saying, yo, it's only 100,000 people in here. I don't know how many people run to the Instagram to watch that shit where you actually see the number.
And I don't know what the number on Triller is.
Yeah.
And I will say that Triller needs to step up their app game a little bit.
Because I tried to watch it on TV.
I couldn't get it on TV.
I had to watch it on the phone and stream it to the TV.
So there's no TV app?
There's no.
There is a Triller TV app, but I couldn't find the battle on the app.
Oh, okay.
And I wanted to
this is actually the first versus. I'm going to watch
this again. I will watch this again. I was trying
to watch it again. The battle
again. I'm going to watch that
weekly, I think.
That shit was crazy.
In other words, this is my shit.
I get it, bro. I understand.
And I couldn't find it on the Triller app, and it should be there.
I think it's on the Instagram, but I don't want to watch
some shit. Triller owns versus. They doniller app, and it should be there. I think it's on the Instagram, but I don't want to watch some shit.
Triller owns Versus.
They don't care what you think should be there.
Whatever.
I want to watch that shit again.
I'm glad it was at least on Instagram, too, because I'm not.
Shake that body.
I missed the Apple Music shit, but whatever.
These two dudes got slaps.
Yeah, a lot of them.
They got slaps together, man.
And they got a lot of slaps together, yeah.
Did they?
Because, again, me not watching it, so I'm going to ask you.
Did they do their Together records together yeah okay yeah they did the jodeci record you know i'm saying they went acapella with it like ray kwan played it
and played his verse and then goes like nah they were singing the record they were singing jodeci's
parts acapella together they had a lot of fun with this yeah yeah yeah yeah then that's dope
this is another
one that then it wasn't for the who won ghost yeah no no no no no got it this wasn't that
at no point when i was watching this did i try to consider a winner even though i had ghostface
maybe winning yeah but when i came on it was like oh y'all are brothers y'all are on every song
together y'all age ghostface even said yo my knees is bad fam i can't get up and jam to this right now
like i like that type of shit they did an outfit change i love ghosts coming out in this fur with
the fur and they had a leather underneath it yeah i stared at ghost wall-e's for 20 minutes like
yeah man talk about branding word like i don't smart the big check smart even if he don't yeah
we own this shit he branded wall-e's with him you don't have the big check smart even if he don't yeah we own this shit he branded
wally's with him you don't have to have a deal in fact to to that's fact yeah he does i know
he does his own little custom joints and shit like that body i had very low expectations for
the show honestly and i have like i was like why are they even doing this shit this shit was the greatest verses i've ever seen in my entire life they sung jodeci in front of us
yeah like and do you feel the same of what greatest verses that you've seen no
no i don't feel like this is the greatest verse of the episode.
I don't think this is the top five verses that I have seen.
No, because I know we all like different shit, so that we're going to think different.
I don't think you've seen it front to back.
I think you owe yourself to watch that front to back, and especially even watch the end
when they were just playing.
At the end, they were like, oh, we're done.
We're done.
They said we're done 15 times, and the DJs just kept playing old classic
fucking party records
so you can watch this
over though
cause the other ones
you couldn't watch over
I think it's on the
Instagram
Prem told me it was
on the Instagram
so I'm assuming
it's on the Instagram
I'm seeing this video
here is 2 hours
and 40 minutes long
whatever you're
watching right here
I don't know if they
put the whole thing
that's on the official
channel
I like that
now Versus put out
like a schedule
correct and the challengers were blotted out so you couldn't tell who they were we can guess That's on our official channel. They're saying now that- I like that. Now, Versus put out a schedule. Correct.
And the challengers were blotted out, so you couldn't tell who they were.
We can guess.
But they have a Hal Hyde, Redman, and Method Man on 420.
That makes sense, right?
No.
Why not?
I mean, it makes sense.
Redman, Method Man on 420, yes.
I think Redman versus Method Man does not make sense.
Why?
I said the same thing about Ray Ghost.
Ice is also 29, by the way.
Nah, I'm 30.
Nah, I just don't think they match up.
Why?
I think Method Man blows this away.
Really?
Yes.
Oh, shit.
I don't think it's...
I got Redman winning this.
I feel the same way as I do.
I got Method Man, and I don't think...
And I'm from Jersey.
I love Redman to death.
I don't think in a versus
hit for hit record for record
that matches up I'm not factoring in the fact
that Mef can play mad Wu-Tang joints
exactly
cause solo career
Redman's got wait a second
I'm listening
so Redman's got a lot of solo
slaps like a lot bigger than
Mef
not when you include the Wu-Tang slaps. Like, a lot. Bigger than Meth?
Not when you include the Wu-Tang slaps.
That's all I was kind of saying.
Like, I just don't see matching up. I think Redman has features that he could play that are not being counted enough.
I don't want to hear Dirty.
Huh?
Yeah, I do not want to hear that.
You better not play that damn Christina record.
That's the first one I thought about when you said features. I don't want to hear that. I was thinking more Headbanger. Yeah, no do not want to hear that. You better not play that damn Christina record. That's the first one I thought about when you said features.
I don't want to hear that.
I was thinking more Headbanger.
Yeah, no doubt.
Okay.
I'm with that.
My memory's fuzzy.
I don't know if Red is on down with the Kings.
Beast from the East.
Crazy.
Like, Redman comes from EPMD.
Yeah, that's true.
All that.
So, he has features he could play.
Now, granted, say Vaughn's age group wouldn't care,
and they might not be familiar.
And yeah, Meth has Wu-Tang acclaim,
and some big, really sold solo records,
and some big features.
Right, that's kind of what I'm saying.
But I don't think people give Redman the credit
that he should get.
He's got two, if not three, classic albums.
I say three.
I say three.
He's definitely got it.
I might have four, personally.
But I like Redman.
Redman was probably one of my favorite rappers.
Know what?
I'm saying four.
I don't really have any classic solo albums.
I'm saying four, because personally, I'm putting Doc's the Name in there, too. Doc's the Name is my shit. All right, but let's keep it going. So I'm going to say four. We say Redman has three or four classic albums. I'm saying four because personally, I'm putting Doc's the name in there too.
Doc's the name is my shit.
All right, but let's keep it going.
So I'm going to say four.
We say Redman has three or four classic albums.
Cool.
Whoever you have winning, it will be entertaining to watch.
That's the one thing.
Pull up the challenges again, please.
That's the one thing about Redman.
I've seen him live, and it might be like the top.
John, regardless, one of the top shows I've ever been to and it might be like the top John regardless
one of the top shows I've ever been to in my entire life.
He knows how to fucking put on a show.
He can put on a show. 100.
Him and Mef together.
That alone is going to be worth
watching. I'm just talking
record versus record.
I didn't see it happen. Let's finish running this
down. Mother's Day special. We don't know who
that could be but I'd love to see
Anita Baker or somebody there
it looks like
it's a solo
yeah it's a solo
cause it doesn't have the V song
oh yeah
got it got it got it got it
got it got it
I see what they did
the rematch
I'm assuming this is
Teddy Riley vs. Babyface again
because Teddy Riley
made some sort of
reference to it
I don't think so
I didn't see it
yeah he tweeted this
he highlighted the rematch part
and he put out a little oh okay I didn't see it. Yeah, he tweeted this. He highlighted the rematch part, and he put out a little.
Okay, I didn't see it.
Why?
There's already been a rematch.
And that's still babyface, so maybe lose again.
I don't know.
But I'll watch it.
Teddy Riley's that dude.
Babyface's that dude.
So we'll see.
Then we have it to be announced.
We have a ladies' night versus another one to be announced.
And it says we're just getting started. I understand that looking on what i'm seeing there i don't i do i think i
know who one of them to be announced is and i'm hoping i'm right because i got my own list of
verses that i would love to see which which one you which one are you seeing uh the one underneath
memorial day okay i'm thinking that last name is bobby brown shut up who's who's battling bobby brown
nobody that's a one that's one word on top of that correct yeah r kelly chris brown usher i
have usher really that's one of the battles that i said that's one of the battles i would i want
usher versus chris brown why you don't want a battle of the browns bobby brown that's the one
i really wanted i have my list of verses that I would
do anything to see and that's at the top of the list.
Chris Brown got to wait for Drake or
well, Drake's waiting for Kanye.
Kanye's waiting for Hov. It's all types
of verses. Yeah, it's all kind of
little shit. They want who they want.
Usher vs. Bobby Brown don't make a lot of sense
to me though just because of age.
The difference in...
None of y'all are beating Bobby Brown if R. Kelly's in jail
Bobby Brown wins it
I said that
Bobby Brown is
Bobby Brown get to pull
from too much shit
Bobby Brown's unbeatable
new addition
new addition to the load
his shit
Ja Rule
hey hey
we not gonna talk about
Thug Lovin'
I like that song
I like that song
I'm making sure
you like the song
I like that song
I was in the building when they was making that song I that song. I'm making sure you like the song. I like that song. All right, we good? Not to mention all the people at Sample.
I was in the building when they was making that song.
Do that.
Hey, I'm making sure.
Because we not.
Thug Lovin' get disrespected.
Not on my watch.
That song is hard.
That song is hard.
We good.
We have the Isley Brothers verse, Earth, Wind, and Fire.
When I told my dad about that, he was real excited and wanted to know how he could access
verses.
My mom told me to buy out.
He doesn't like the matchup.
I don't either.
He doesn't like the matchup. Isley Brothers don't either. He doesn't like the matchup.
Isaac Brothers has been around
since like the late 50s, I think.
Putting out records.
Pop said he thought that
Earth, Wind & Fire
should probably go against
the original Kool & The Gang.
Or the Commodores, maybe.
Yeah, not Earth, Wind & Fire.
That's what he said.
I don't know who would win that,
but I'm watching it.
I'm definitely watching that.
And I'm jamming.
Hell yeah.
Not just watching that. I am jamming. I'm two- that. And I'm jamming. Hell yeah. Not just watching that.
I am jamming. I'm two-stepping all through
that. That kind of shit about it. I'm curious what the Memorial
Day weekend, because that sounds like Memorial Day weekend
to me. I need
some more current shit. Memorial Day weekend
is Teddy Riley versus
Babyface. Nah, it's going to be
Memorial Day to me.
You can have Memorial Day with New Jack
Swing. Of course I can.
Of course I can.
But it's not the same as Earth, Wind & Fire on Memorial Day.
What if it's a rematch of The Dream and Sean Garrett?
They want that too.
They got enough records to do a rematch.
I wouldn't laugh.
No, I'm saying that would be the way to do it.
Yeah, no, I wouldn't laugh at that.
But either way, I look forward to that.
Ladies Night.
That's a real short name. That's got to be Eve. That's got to be Eve. But either way, I look forward to that. Ladies Night. That's a real short name right there.
That's got to be Eve.
That's got to be Eve.
Versus who, though?
Eve versus...
Eve's going to be a hard out for 10 songs.
Yeah.
I don't know if she can get to 20.
That's got to be Eve.
That's my other versus issue.
I talked about that with you earlier.
What's that?
Versus 20 records.
Yeah.
Everybody can't do 20 records.
That's a fact.
Once you get around 12, 13-ish, it start getting a little...
Money.
Yeah, it gets money.
Yeah.
For a lot of people.
For a lot of people.
I do think they should offer...
I wish they would do opening acts or something like that where you can do it.
Well, that's the DJ.
Someone would...
Nah.
Oh, you mean opening verses?
Yeah.
10 on 10 or 5 on 5. I've seen some verses we had that should not have been 20 records
oh yeah and i was just like all right here's our reminder that this is not for everybody yeah yeah
april 4th is around the corner these months are going by in the spring quickly that's a fact
like it's almost april right now. Which means summer's around the corner.
Shit about to go crazy.
Big Vax me.
Yo, summer's coming.
That's it.
It's going to be different out here.
I went and got a COVID test because I was trying to go to the Knick game this weekend.
New York versus Philly.
And they were saying that you can't attend the game if you don't have a COVID test from the last 48 hours, 72 hours.
Yeah, 72-hour PCR test.
I get there.
Of course, I see people faking the COVID test.
Nah.
They faking the COVID test?
Would you believe it?
Would you believe it?
Of course, they're faking the COVID test to watch Julius Randle perform.
Why wouldn't you?
That's when I would call him all and say what he thinks about that,
but I won't.
Yeah, so they faking the COVID test.
Did you go to the game?
I went to the game.
I took a COVID test.
Easiest picture?
This was my first time taking the COVID test where they put it all the way
in your nose.
That's the good one.
Yeah, he was doing the fake job.
The rapid test.
Yeah, yeah.
I really liked that all the way in the nose test.
That's the spot, all the spots i wish
i could get to with my pinky like it felt really good i didn't mind after a little itch but i'm
crying um the garden the garden to make you sign some type of uh paper so that they're not liable
for if you come in there and kill everybody and it was a really good time it was a good time in
there yeah how many in new york it just feels like people gearing up to get back out
whether it be to the secret strip club to a game nix nets to dinner just the energy seems to be
changing a little bit uh venue capacity what did it look like yeah there was a lot of people in
there okay uh i think they they changed rules. They upped the capacity.
So it looked like maybe 40%, 30%, 33%, whatever that was.
But it spread out amongst the whole garden.
I'm sure the players were happy that people were in there cheering.
Down at the end of the row were some real New York fans that were screaming MVP for Julius.
And when Tobias Harris went to the line, they screamed, you're not an all-star.
Did you sit courtside?
I didn't sit courtside.
I didn't sit in celebrity row.
I sat.
You sat in Lexus row.
I sat along.
That was hilarious, bro.
That picture was great.
I don't like that.
Because that picture of the Lexus wasn't there when I purchased the tickets.
That was funny
i got a good i was gonna hit you i got a good laugh at that because i can imagine you coming
in there like you gotta be kidding me yeah i purchased the baseline the baseline seats four
of them right thinking we get a good seat we go there i'm right behind the basket and there's a
big ass lexus right there blocking our view and they move the seats back so you're not right there and i was really angry about that and the price of admission until i
looked across the court and saw that it was like a suv slash caravan on the other side so you could
have been behind that fam i'm gonna kick somebody's ass if they put me behind the caravan uh but the
game there you go there you go yeah. That's fucked up.
Y'all would be pissed.
That's fucked up.
And don't tell me I got baseline seats when I got Lexus line seats.
Word.
Like, don't do that.
I got front view of the fucking car.
Right, right.
That I'm not going to buy.
Yeah, yeah, don't do that.
That's fucked up.
Well, listen, back to just how my brain understands things.
I see that Lexus is in some type of deal with the garden.
They've got their car.
They've got their cars everywhere.
I mean, I don't think they care about me.
I look up and I see the Chase Hall of Fame.
It's Chase Gate CD.
I'm like, okay, they have business with Chase.
Safe to assume that.
Oh, yeah, they got the garden.
If you have a Chase car,
they got an old private lounge upstairs.
I was like, this is lit.
They got all types of business with Chase. None of them know who Patrick Ewing is, but there's some Chase card. They got an old private lounge upstairs. I was like, this is lit. They got all types of business with Chase.
None of them know who Patrick Ewing is,
but there's some Chase business.
There's some Chase business
to be had. That's crazy.
Mitch Robinson was back. That was cool. I won't talk
about sports too long because Maul's not here
for me to laugh at his sports takes, but
this was cool. The Knicks lost. It was a good time
in New York. It's the only reason I brought it up.
We spoke briefly about Quavo This was cool. The Knicks lost. It was a good time in New York. It's the only reason I brought it up. Yeah.
We spoke briefly about Quavo and Sweetie because we were recording when the news broke.
Right.
A lot of backlash from that after we were finished recording.
One of the rumors that surfaced was that Quavo repoed his Bentley back that he gifted Sweetie.
And I'm cool with that.
Yeah, I want to shop it off of that. I didn't really care about that.
But I'm here to ask you, gentlemen,
if you were in the middle
of a public bad breakup
and you gifted
your significant other a Bentley,
would you indeed take it back?
I'm going to need that Bentley.
I'm going to need that.
Run that.
Yeah.
I'm going to need that back.
It depends. It depends.
It depends.
For me, it depends.
Because I don't want you to look at me like I need it.
It's like, all right, fam.
I gave you that.
Go do that.
You can have that.
I'll keep it pushing.
Can I add a little bit to that?
Mm-hmm.
I'm hearing.
I don't know for sure.
I didn't see the contract details.
Now, let's say this is a leased vehicle that is in your name
and y'all had that bad breakup.
You still keep that status?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Give me that back.
Give me that back.
Okay.
You can't kiki with your ex
and then it's my name on it.
Well, no.
Even if you don't kiki with your ex,
if the car is in someone else's name
and you have it,
that's trouble on the horizon.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
She could say,
all right, I'm not making the payments. Like, paying the money or whatever. Ruined your credit. Ruined your credit, yeah. Ru could say, all right, I'm not making the payments.
Like,
paying the money,
you know,
whatever.
Ruined your credit.
Ruined your credit,
yeah.
Ruined your standing.
No,
I'm good.
That's not something you really.
Run that.
Run that.
That need my standing good
at the Bentley store.
The car custom.
It got icy snowflakes in it
and say icy in the headrest.
So,
it's your car.
I mean,
you can easily go back there
and put that in your name
and go get your Bentley.
I'm cool with that.
I don't need it.
She's making a couple dollars. Yeah. I don't need it. She's making a couple dollars.
Yeah.
I don't need it.
She can swing the Bentley, I'm sure.
But you're not going to.
It's not staying in my name and we're not together.
I support Quavo in this instance because I understand what you go through
when you have a very public relationship and things are not going right
and you'd rather keep things private,
but you're dealing with the hurt party who wants to divulge things,
who wants to expose things,
who wants to expose your participation in all the matters.
And it'd be like, yo, fam, what are you doing, man?
We was tight.
It didn't work.
I creeped out.
You wasn't sucking my dick for nine months.
Like, sorry, I'm going to go and get my dick sucked.
My problem with that, with what you just said, Joe, is y'all cool with putting out all the happy shit, though.
So it's like, that come with it.
If you want to be private, be all the way private.
Y'all want to constantly throw the good times in everybody's face.
Let me respond to that.
Playing devil's advocate.
Yes.
A lot of times when men are participating in that act, it's against our will.
Our girl is the person that wants to show the good times to the internet and to the public.
And hey, take this picture.
Jump in.
Hey, this is a vibe the men
normally we typically are not trying to share in that but our girl wants to so we do it we don't
want to take the picture now when things go awry when things go bad it's our girl that's hurt so
it's our girl that acts first and unfollowing you and eliminating the pictures from the timeline and giving the bloggers anything to feed off of.
Most times men don't want the bloggers in their business.
Correct.
You know, one of the things I love most about this pandemic and quarantine and COVID is that the bloggers didn't have so much of niggas real life business to feed off of.
Y'all had to get into like things that could really help the
society i loved that as soon as those things stopped happening guess what happened the bloggers
uh when outside opened back up the bloggers said that carl towns was indeed cheating on jordan
woods the whole time carl towns as a man did what he had to do to protect his relationship from it. He was like, yo, dog, that's fake.
That's fake. It's not real.
Don't exist.
The bloggers was like, yo, dog.
No, it happened.
We got your side
chick. We got the airplane
tickets. We got the hotel
reservations. We have everything.
That's your girl. But
niggas be trying to hold down the sanctity of a relationship,
keep things a certain way.
Because you don't want her looking crazy.
Exactly.
That's what it is.
You don't want her looking crazy.
And that's a part of it.
But here we are, Quavo, sweetie.
Shit is nuts.
Y'all both superstars.
Y'all both young.
Y'all both have time invested.
What?
They both what?
Young.
Superstars.
All right, go ahead.
How old are you?
I'm 30.
That's why.
That's why.
See, I'm 40.
So when I sit home.
I'm not 30, but go ahead.
It don't matter.
But it don't matter.
When I sit home at 40 years old and I surf the net, what I see is money bags, yo, baby
mom did this.
Alexa Sky did this.
Such and such did this.
Correct, correct.
I'm not interested in any of it,
but guess what?
That don't matter.
The 24-year-olds.
That's all they care about.
That demographic,
they only care about this.
So that makes her a superstar?
That's the definition of a superstar?
I mean,
depending on the... She's popular.
She's popular.
No, no.
But wait.
Popular is today.
I'm not working under the rules and guidelines that we came up off of.
Today, if you're young and you have 5 million followers on Instagram,
you can produce something to get a superstar effect,
at least amongst your peer group.
No, Sweetie and Quavo are not superstars in comparison to the superstars,
Rihanna, Beyoncece jay-z anybody
musically that we deem to be that way no but to their demo sweetie's the one sweetie is beyonce
to the 22 year old quavo quavo regardless of what we feel about him has ushered in a generation. Absolutely. He's a grandfather.
He's a veteran.
Yeah.
He's a brand ambassador.
Correct.
Correct.
That's just what he is.
Yes.
Maybe not to me because I came up on Nas.
Sorry to hear that.
We're not going to do that.
Nah.
It's a joke.
It's a joke.
It's a joke.
Jokes ain't jokes if we never get serious that's been
a joke of yours that's been a joke of yours for the last 10 15 years and we're and i just watched
ghostface on the woo shit introduce naz and say yo when this kid came out we all thought that was
the one ghostface is in my top 15 rappers all time.
Mine too.
If you think that about Nas when he came out,
I know what that's like, hearing that for the first time.
That's hard.
Hey, yo, it ain't hard to tell.
I excel, then prevail.
Rappers weren't putting the word excel in their verses back then.
It ain't hard to tell that was a radio single.
Wasn't really radio singles going on like that back then.
So I understand it is all.
I'm not mad at this.
Young people could kill Nas.
Hey, Freddie Gibbs texted me.
Freddie Gibbs texted me over some shit I said in the pod.
He was like, what the fuck you mean I can't be mad that I didn't win the Grammy?
I doubled down.
Nigga, it's Nas.
Word.
What he said?
Yeah, if you lose to Nas.
You lost to Nas
who hasn't been
now he lose
who didn't win in 20 years
I can't even say what I was about to say
but it don't matter
I can say it
Nas didn't win it
I know what you're about to say
you know what I was about to say
okay
what he was going to say
if he loses to DeSmoke
he can be mad
yeah
Freddie Gibbs can't be mad
if he loses to Nas
who hasn't won
he can't be mad losing to Nas
in 20 years
that's like
cannot be mad losing to Nas period. That's like cannot be mad
losing to Nas.
But that's like
anybody being mad
at Susan Lucci
when she won
the fucking Emmy
or whatever that was
that she won
after being nominated
25 times.
That's our equivalent
of Nicki Minaj.
Every year
the white people say
Susan Lucci lost again.
Fan, did y'all see
All My Children?
Or nah.
I used to watch
All My Children.
Right.
She's a white legend.
She didn't win it.
Sorry.
Or like when Leo.
Sorry, Freddie Gibbs.
You know what I mean?
I get it.
I get it.
Hey, you and Alchemist could get together next year and put together the same thing
and put it out.
Exactly.
And that'd be cool.
But you can't say I rap.
I rap better when I'm angry when Nas won.
Well, you can.
But don't text me about it.
It's okay.
You just got to take that.
If you text me, I'm going to tell your dog, you bugging.
Yeah, you got to take that.
You have to take that.
It's not an L when you take an L to a legend.
At all.
There's only a handful of legends that like
if you lose to them
you should actually be honored
to even be mentioned
in the category with them.
Facts.
It was Nas.
Yeah.
Like outside of me
everybody else considers Nas
if not the one
of the absolute greatest.
He is one of the absolute greatest.
You consider him
one of the absolute greatest
but don't do that.
I said I was right.
But you do.
It was written as one of your favorite albums.
It is.
You do.
But then there's a lot of albums.
I have heard too much music and knows too many artists to not consider Nas one of the greatest ever.
You don't have to be one of your personal favorites.
But you know what he did.
Of course.
That's it.
I know what he did.
Yes.
I'm giving Nas his props.
Hey, and he did that with a large percentage of people saying he picked bad did. Of course. That's it. I know what he, yes, I'm giving Nas his props. Hey, and he did that
with a large percentage
of people saying
he picked bad beats.
You lose.
He did that
over bad beats.
Yeah.
Y'all know my bad beats.
And I hate that argument
with Nas.
Nas went and got
with Dre for the firm
and put it out
and all of us said
those beats are bad.
I just,
I like that album.
He just hits a bad rap
with,
hey,
you owe me came out and we said, what are you doing? I said, I loved it. I don't think that beat are bad. He just hits a bad rap with, hey, you owe me came out.
We said, what are you doing?
I said, I loved it.
I don't think that beat is bad.
Going back, a lot of the Nas has bad beats, takes.
Or bad takes.
Don't hold up.
Yeah.
There's a lot of, like, even Nostradamus, which I hated as a fucking backpacker Nas fan.
I go back to him like, oh, there's a lot of good songs in there.
That's where my current fight lives.
If we want to attack something about Nas, I'm going to the hooks before the beats.
Fair.
Fair.
The beats were fine.
Undying love.
Even if the Nostradamus beat came on the day.
Like, it's not an encore, y'all.
You should welcome me back.
The beat by itself, rappers would pick it.
Right.
But some of these hooks, that's what, you know what, you're right.
Nasta, Nasta, Nasta, Nasta, Nasta, Nasta, Nasta.
That's what made that argument.
No.
That's what he did over the beat.
If I ruled the world.
That's what it was.
That's what it was.
Fucking, I can name a million Nas hooks that if we get into it, it's like, all right, fam.
Yeah, I agree with that.
But I come from everywhere.
I know that the lyricists couldn't make hooks.
I know McGruff couldn't make a hook.
Dog, I read a- I know the Locks didn't make the best hook we need they need a puff i know i ain't make the best hooks lord i like the lyricists couldn't make hooks okay
couldn't make hooks oh ho couldn't make hooks it's true it's the truth i've heard the joke
in the producer community if you want to get a whole placement, have a hook on it. Right. I don't argue it.
It's true.
And if you listen to the songs with that new ear, when I listen to my favorite hold songs, that comes up.
Like Allure is one of my favorite songs.
And the hook comes on and it's Pharrell.
I don't know why.
As somebody that knows what it took to get a Pharrell hook, I didn't have that luxury.
I mean, I couldn't put it Pharrell.
I couldn't make a hook and I couldn't get somebody
that could make a hook
to be on my songs.
Guess what?
I got to sing it.
Hov is not in that position.
You get Pharrell,
Pham, I can make this happen.
If I can get Pharrell
for a beating hook,
I can make this happen.
Sorry, Noriega.
He made it happen.
That's my point.
It's not to discredit
what he did
because his catalog is crazy.
But if I can get Pharrell for a beating hook, the work is done. I can make it happen a little bit. happen that's my point yeah it's not to discredit what he did because his catalog is crazy but if i
can get pharrell for beating the hook yeah the work is done i can make it happen a little bit
if i can get kanye for a beat some of the hook it's cool man after watching this uh wu-tang
verses i went back to the stories that were circulating about ghostface turning down the
girls girls girls beat by a hoe.
If you hear that, you would think,
well, what the fuck is wrong?
Ghostface turning down that beat.
But I mean, you know how that happens.
It was coming off Supreme Clientele.
That was a super classic.
The only problem was... He wasn't worried about finding no beats?
The problem with me hearing that is
the Girls Girls Girls beat sounds like a Ghostface beat.
Well, I think I've heard both Kanye and Just Blaze
go on record to say that they made beats
at that time for Ghostface.
Because coming off Spring Clientel,
let's do that soul sample shit.
I thought I heard one of them say Ice Cream
was the inspiration behind Girls Girls Girls.
Ice Cream, by the way, has the best quotables of all time
in it.
Quotables? Quotables.
I love you like I love my dick size.
That's the one that comes into play.
His dick big.
We good?
We good, bro?
I thought that was Rory that did that.
I'm just saying, to put that in a song, all right, move it right along.
To the Dean Howard sleep.
Moving right along.
That bitch been on my mind all week.
She was on a lot of people's minds at that time, too.
Yeah, she did.
That album covered the whole nine.
Yeah.
There's so many good lines in that song.
But back to you, queen.
Like, you can't fucking cherish this bitch and then say, but back to you, queen.
He called her queen.
He called her queen.
It's all right.
Yeah.
Yeah, I get it.
Adina Howard is one of those untold
doc stories
that we need
by the way
like there's
some of these
R&B untold
stories that we need
because the R&B
people had so much
hip hop shit
going on
Idina Howard
was fucking
these niggas
didn't stand a chance
these niggas
didn't stand a chance
what else is important out there?
We covered versus
Did we cover the mass shootings?
No, we didn't
Let's talk about it a little bit
Before we get out of here
I don't think that we need
A three hour podcast today
I think we give right
To the meat and potatoes
And things and keep it pushing
White terrorism
Back again
Again Colorado The need for gun control
yeah colorado again suspect is a resident of arvada colorado and has lived most of his life
in the united states boulder county district attorney michael doherty said he sustained a
through and through gunshot wound to his leg and was taken into custody
at 3.28 p.m. Monday.
He was sent to a hospital in stable
condition and was being treated
there Tuesday.
The officers exchanged gunfire
with the suspect. It wasn't immediately
clear whether the shot that injured
him came from police.
So he's alive?
Yeah.
Okay.
And well.
Got it.
It's sad.
You know what's crazy
about this is they're
getting younger and
younger and younger.
Like, this kid's 21.
Yeah.
You're just able to
purchase alcohol, man.
Yeah.
But you...
You could have been
purchased a gun, though.
That's my problem.
Yeah.
That's my problem.
Yeah.
You can get a gun
whenever you want to.
In some of these states.
I talked to my mans who lived in PA, and he's like, yo, come through.
Because every time I'm out there, we go to the gun range.
This whole group of us.
He goes, yo, come through.
I just bought an AR-15.
And I'm like, why?
Why did you buy an AR-15?
You know what his response was?
And he was dead serious.
Because I can.
And I shut up.
I was just like,
shit.
What do you say to that?
I bought this assault rifle
simply because I can.
I have no need for it.
But because I am able
to go into the store
and buy an AR-15,
I went and bought it.
Might as well.
I had an extra 300.
You know what I'm saying?
You get what I'm saying? That's the
problem, man. That's the problem. They're not going to change
this shit. 21-year-old suspect in Monday's
massacre at the King's Super Supermarket
in the Colorado city of Boulder
faces 10 counts
of murder in the first degree.
10?
21 years old, bro.
White. You killed bro. White terrorists.
You killed 10 people
and you got a leg wound.
But what makes people, as soon as the world opens
back up, get to... Get right back to
mass killing. Hey, man, some people have to
die. Well, Dave Chappelle said it.
He said that was one of the greatest things about COVID.
That you get to avoid
these kind of
situations
massacres
this is the seventh one
in seven days
in the US
mass shooting
bro I saw the US numbers
and it was
we were at like
over
it's like 102
103
in
2021
and I had to double check.
I thought I was bugging.
Like, yo, this is March.
We didn't even finish March.
So it's been more mass shootings
than it's been days this year.
That's crazy.
And I think, I believe the definition of mass
is over four people killed
in one single shooting.
That's like the technical term.
Right.
So just to put it in perspective.
The mass shooting in Boulder
is the 102nd
US mass shooting
of 2021.
What's wrong with us, man?
And no one
sees a problem with this.
Word.
Buy whatever gun you want.
Yeah.
Buy more.
Because
you may be somewhere
where the shooting starts.
So,
you should have a gun too.
And then,
one of the most fucked up things about it is,
is where this is happening.
It's like you're at a supermarket.
Word.
Right.
Think about who's at a supermarket.
It's not like at the clubs.
It's not like where there's some tension or aggression in that kind of environment.
Yo fam,
I'm going to buy apples,
pears and peaches.
Right.
And I'm scared for a 21 yearyear-old to roll up on me.
Not the 45-year-old
who may be disgruntled
or whatever,
got all this,
this psychological,
whatever the case is.
This ain't the ward vet
that's fucked up in your head.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is just a young kid
who had,
whatever his reason is,
10 people dead.
A 65-year-old,
a 49-year-old,
51,
a 25-year-old.
He killed over
three decades
of people in one instance.
Dude.
He cleared out.
The first officer, and I read this earlier, the first officer that I guess arrived on
the scene or, you know, to assess the situation, left behind seven kids.
Damn.
Just for doing, I'm going, I'm doing my job at a supermarket.
And now there's seven kids without a father, bro.
Like, this is nuts.
This is nuts.
You can't make this make sense to you.
There's so many different things to speak to.
Because then you think about all the unarmed black people.
It's so many different other things to speak to.
Because there's unarmed black people. Killed many different other things to speak to because there's unarmed black
people kill for traffic infractions or nothing so i'd like to allow you to floor off of this topic
to tell me how you are okay with bieber harmonizing nigger with this white terrorism going on uh it's
not that i was okay because that is what some of our some of our correlation is
to that uh and i'll segue that into beaver catching backlash for opening his album or
having martin luther king shots in his album credits yep it's not that we bash him for
harmonizing nigger it's that we bash some of the evil whites not saying
him but some of the evil whites because that is your position calling us niggers when you love us
like calling us niggers when you uh are trying to be like us calling us niggers when you share
in the talent and the uh economy that our niggerism has provided.
So we joked around a little last week and you caught some heat.
I caught some heat for allowing you to say it.
But off of this serious topic right now, like, how do you deal with the correlation?
Well, for me, it wasn't that harmonizing nigger.
It's not funny.
You know, like in the moment we were joking around it.
That's important to be said.
Yeah, like in the moment we were joking around it, you know, we brushed was joking around it you know we we brushed past it cool for me what it is it's just progression like if you see
the video and it's a nasty video like because even the words after it he uh references the kkk and
all this other horrible shit but for me what it was is like all right progression when are we
gonna give people the room to grow how long are you gonna hold this
against somebody if you see the video he looks at least the the youngest i'll say 12 the oldest
maybe 15 16 and his career is documented so here's my question for you because i don't want to get
into too much empathy for justin bieber my it's not him no joe that's what i'm trying to say but
let's just hear me out and you can carry on.
When we see things like this that we can perceive as pandering,
from the guy who calls us nigger,
but then has Martin Luther King in his album credits,
how should the rest of us feel?
Not you, who assesses differently.
How should everybody else feel? If you've ever had a nigger video out
there where you harmonized it and then you opened your album with martin luther king pictures in
your credits should we feel like you have changed and you've matured or do we feel like you're
fronting and pandering he probably saw that as a way to smooth it over or something i mean but
it's over a decade ago somebody black needs to get involved and say, hey, you could be changed.
You could love us.
But Martin Luther King in your album notes is not a good idea.
That's all.
I'm not.
I can't speak for where his heart lies.
I've never met the gentleman.
Yeah.
He's got some slaps.
I will say that people, particularly social media, they don't allow for growth and change.
Of course not.
And that's my issue.
Of course not.
And I think that's what Saban's trying to say.
That's the only thing I'm speaking to.
My personal opinion on that is, fucking apology.
I don't want your apology.
To me, the best apology is change behavior and making sure you don't repeat the same mistake.
Mm-hmm.
So, I'm not defending Bieber.
repeat the same mistake. So I'm not defending Bieber, but if he changed his behavior, learned from that mistake that he made when he was a child, if he learned from that, made sure to
never repeat that mistake and is trying to do the right thing by the people that he offended with
that mistake, allow him that room. And then there's two things for me the the first thing is we know his
demographic we know who's rushing to listen to the beaver we know correct where the streams come from
right correct they go to his album when else are they gonna hear mlk anything like it's just an
attempt and i'm not saying it's right maybe it is pandering but on this on the surface on the
landscape it's like fam little white boys little white girls young teenager whoever it is pandering, but on the surface, on the landscape, it's like, fam, little white boys,
little white girls, young teenagers, whoever
it is that's listening, they're never going to go
out of their way to hear it. Well, that's the one
person that they actually teach white kids
in public school, as a white kid that
went to public school, is Martin Luther King.
So they've actually probably heard the speech.
It's not the most in-depth that you could go. You could find
some Malcolm, at least.
You know what I'm saying?
So he took the easy way out.
That's an easy way.
I don't want us to live here
because we touched on this
last week.
I just wanted to allow
Savon the space.
It's just progression.
Like I said,
it wasn't so much
Justin Bieber.
It wasn't so much,
oh, the notes was fire.
Like, fuck out of here.
You can't even hear the notes
in most of the videos
that you find.
For me, it's just like,
all right,
when are we going to allow people to to progress that's what i'm
saying it doesn't happen i can get in my brother all right i told i told i ain't think you did
dog i ain't think you did well i didn't get with the way it was worded yeah it came off a little
but i understand your position your position is we need each other. That's it. We should allow room for growth.
I think it's interesting that's coming from you because your generation, for me, y'all are the ones that invented the you don't have room to grow.
Yeah.
Y'all cancel culture guys are the ones that said, yo, man, you did what in the 70s?
Hey, that was wrong.
I don't care about the time.
Even if in the 70s. That was happening. wrong. Right. I don't care about the time. Even if in the 70s.
That was happening.
Right.
Even if in the 70s.
That's important.
That shouldn't have happened.
Hey, we do that in 2010.
Yo, y'all was tweeting what back then?
Yo, y'all, that was messed up.
You're hurting people's feelings.
So it's like.
That is your generation.
So I think that's interesting that your position is this when it's your generation that came to attempt to rectify every generation before it.
Is there anything else that I'm missing that we need to get to?
Rest in peace, Elgin Baylor.
Oh, 1,000%.
Absolutely.
1,000%.
Rest in peace, Elgin Baylor.
Prayers and condolences to his family, friends, fans, and loved ones.
Somebody else passed away.
Bobby Brown Jr.
Yeah.
Bobby Brown Jr. been passed.
I think they just got the autopsy or something.
Yeah, the autopsy report.
The toxicology is back now, and it says that he lost his life from the mixture of drugs.
History of alcohol, drug abuse, fentanyl, something going on there.
My mind is so fucked up.
I don't even know how to take it when they tell me that such and such died from a history of drug abuse.
Yeah, we have a history of drug abuse i got that but i mean i ain't gonna go as far as to say that's why somebody died even if
that's what the toxicology says like there were events that led up to people taking drugs to deal
with certain things like we're here to self-medicate uh that's like they can't uh now we're here too
but some people are here and they self-medicate to deal with things.
That's just like we stopped saying because it was a courtesy issue.
We stopped saying suicide was, there's a term that we used for taking your own life or something that was inconsiderate deemed by the mental health community.
Because if you don't understand what mental health is and that people are suicidal who
are you to say that hey they had mental health and no you can't say that got it like so all of
that stuff this is the ballpark that we're in uh rest in peace to bobby brown jr of course yeah
i couldn't imagine being bobby brown and having to live with so much success and pain. My wife, my kids, my wife, kids.
It's a mess.
It's a mess.
So keep Bobby Brown
in your prayers out there.
Did anybody else pass?
I don't think so.
That we know of?
No.
Right?
Is there anything else
that's going on
that we need to touch?
Snowfall review?
There hasn't been an episode
that aired since.
But they did renew
They did renew the series
For another season
Oh yeah
Yeah they got another
Fifth season
You better believe that
Jack
That one was coming
Better not
Better not cancel that now
Big Pun got a
A street named after him
A portion of East Fordham Road
In the Bronx
So
Rest in peace to Snoot
To the legend Big Pun Okay One thousand to see Absolutely Yeah That's good Fordham Road in the Bronx. So, rest in peace to Snoop, to the legend, Big Pun.
Okay.
1,000 to see.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
That's good.
Fordham?
All right.
Yeah.
What is it?
Big Pun?
Or is it Christopher?
Big Pun Plaza, I believe.
Okay.
Yeah.
I like that.
Yeah.
Yeah, I like that.
I like that a lot.
I mean, I don't know if y'all care, the whole NBA young boy situation.
No.
Yeah.
I missed it. I care know if y'all care, the whole NBA young boy situation. No. I missed it.
I care.
You care?
I care about any time that somebody's arrested, feds, regular.
Yeah, apparently they were looking for him.
They were looking for him.
Do we know why they were looking for him?
Said it was a federal warrant.
So we don't know why.
Yeah, they didn't go into details about anything else.
They pulled him over.
He ran.
They called the canines out, which
I know it's going to sound crazy, but
I'm going to salute him for that.
If I know you're looking for me, I'm not going to make it easy.
Oh, sure.
Yeah, yeah. No, I'm sorry.
I didn't expect him to be
a young boy to make it easy for the authorities.
Everything about this story
read exactly like the only part that was for the authorities. Everything about this story is read
exactly like
the only part
that was funny
about this story.
I'll give you guys
the sentence.
Our law enforcement
sources tell us
the cops set up
a perimeter
and brought in a canine
to help find young boy.
But by the way,
we're told the police dog
didn't bite him.
It just sniffed him out.
He knew he was there but
he knew he pulled up on
follow the loud
follow the loud
yo if you can understand
find that loud pack
if you can read
the tea leaves
know the police
are not gonna tell us
that that dog
tore NBA
young boy's ass up
but that's how
they caught him
yeah yeah
the dog just stopped
like yo yo
he's right there
no the dog
took a bite
out of crime
oh come on
see this is where
Maul and Rory
told me to shut up
and I'm corny
oh that was funny
I thought it was funny.
Yeah, nah, I'm with you.
You get it?
Crime?
He's crime.
I get it.
All right, never mind.
He's crime.
Scruff McGruff.
Scruff McGruff.
I get it.
He's crime.
He's not crime.
I get it.
I ain't mad at him.
All right, so yeah, NBA Youngboy is in jail on some federal shit.
It's 14 counts of some shit.
Gervonta got charged with like 14 counts of hit and run on some shit.
Crime is happening.
The weather's getting nice.
The country's opening back up.
You're going to read this. It's going to be a hectic summer.
Have y'all been paying attention to Miami?
Yeah, Miami got crazy.
Miami is fucking nuts. They shut that shit down.
They had to call a state of emergency and shut it down.
Spring break, it was fights.
Nah, you know what?
Let me respond to that.
They didn't have to call a state of emergency
and shut it down
yes they did
did you see the videos
did you see what it looked like
I saw black people
no no no no
no
no not this
this is not right
these are the videos
you watch white people
I said I saw black people
did you see what they were doing
in those videos
blacking
these whites look like
they're blackened too no no the whites
black people were popping pussy on car hoods partying
they were centralizing you didn't see the video where they said literally everyone's
dining dashing they got cooks chasing people out on the street.
You're not going to fucking crucify me for being black.
That's not being black.
Yes, it is.
That's being a nigga.
Okay, let's try this a different way.
Ice, it's your turn, dog.
Ice.
Look, that's not being black.
Look at this.
Yes, it is.
That's being black. That's black people. That's black people Look, that's not being black. Look at this. Yes, it is. That's being black.
That's black people.
That's black people.
So that's my issue with what you're saying.
As black people.
Joe, but you can't.
Get that out.
Joe can't say that.
Wait, wait, wait.
I want to hear this.
Pardon me.
You shut the fuck up.
Joe, you can't say that.
You shut the fuck up.
Because you do it about black people all the time.
Talking about the progression of black people.
And then you see a video like this and say that's black people.
There's nothing wrong with that.
I'm not mad at that.
Sayvon, Sayvon, how old are you again, Sayvon?
It don't matter how old I am, bro.
I hear what you're saying.
Can you answer my question of how old are you again, please?
27.
Yeah, you can't speak.
You can't speak.
So listen to this.
I can't speak because I'm 27.
No, no, of course you can speak.
Let me reply to you.
Not on that secret.
Let me reply to you.
Sayvon, this is Joe's belief and my belief only.
Uh-huh.
As a black person, i can look at black people
and say what i'm saying okay i'm saying that when i see footage of what's going on in miami i'm not
seeing the footage of all the whites i'm seeing the footage of all the blacks doing shit that
black people do we run out on the check we party when the music is up when we get drunk we get loud we dance on the cars
we cause a scene we're doing black shit what hey you've heard my theory of how racism was born
they seen us blacking out and they didn't like it having too much fun yeah we was killing shit
break dancing jumping over shit come on stegosaurus where creating We are breakdancing around the dinosaurs.
Hey, a nigga was dunking over the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
White people seeing what blacks was doing and they had a black.
Look, this footage I seen, a homeboy running around in check, Prime 112, wherever that was.
I did that.
I did that before.
So my issue with you, let me talk to you now, comes from fuck whatever you see in the picture.
So my issue with you, let me talk to you now, comes from fuck whatever you see in the picture.
Florida, for the last 15 years, has been responsible for debacle after debacle after debacle.
That's true.
That is political, criminal.
Call it how you want.
Only against black people.
Only against blacks.
See, we keep thinking Miami is Miami.
No, nigga, it's Florida still.
Correct.
Geographically, what do you think goes on in Florida?
So don't tell me how to feel when I see videos of black people in Florida
being handled and treated a certain way.
You niggas wasn't calling for a...
Hey, I've been in Miami for...
Hey, once every other month for the last year.
It's my getaway.
I didn't hear nobody calling for a curfew.
It wasn't spring break, Joe. So what? It wasn't blacks. It wasn my getaway. I didn't hear nobody calling for a curfew. It wasn't spring break, Joe.
So what? It wasn't blacks.
It wasn't spring break, Joe.
Don't use the code words.
I'm not trying to use a code word, Joe.
Spring break is blacks.
No, spring break is college kids.
Spring break is college kids.
Yes, it is. No, it's not.
Spring break is college kids. That's not true.
Now, I'm going to tell you what's happening. I'm telling you that's not true.'s not. Spring break is college kids. That's not true. Now, I'm going to tell you what's happening.
I'm telling you that's not true.
It's not spring break is college kids.
So you said spring break means black?
Miami is white, period.
College kids, not college kids.
All year round, you might bump into some white people.
Spring break, the blacks across the globe say, we going to Miami.
We going to Tulum.
We going to Vegas.
That's where the economy is headed.
So when they put out a curfew for only that time,
when they send the special forces out to deal with COVID laws for only that time,
when you go to the places that only the black people frequent for only that time,
and then you make a spectacle of it in mass media,
I know the history of mass media.
I'm with you.
I know the role that mass media has played'm with you i know the role that mass
media has played in this so yeah y'all are right black people should not be dancing on the hood
and running out on checks but guess what black people are black people and if that's happening
there's another way to deal with that than shooting people then to enact a curfew then to say hey don't
come here and that's what i have known to happen from Florida. So what do you do when this is happening
and if you're an official in Florida, bro?
Like, you see, you lost control of the fucking city.
This shit looks wild right here.
You ready?
I'm listening.
You ready?
Are you ready?
Are you ready?
Yes.
Are you ready?
You fucking pay for it.
So you just let them fuck it up?
You go.
I'm not saying you let them fuck it up because that's the problem.
That's the problem.
No, you wild.
You let Bieber harmonize, nigga.
You shut up.
It's not a wild conversation.
You did that.
You got to own that.
You have to own that.
Ice, you let them fuck it up.
That's what you do.
You manage it.
Okay.
So you manage the damage control and what's done.
But when black people are angry, we're going to fuck something up.
And when white people fuck shit up, they just fix it and it gets paid for and covered up.
You go home.
Hey, bodies are dropping.
Blood is pouring all over the streets. But everybody's political interest and financial interest is protected when you're white
it's only black people when we break into windows oh now we go to jail for 75 years
no we're angry over the state of things back to the looting argument so we're looting we're
kicking in windows of course it's fucked up i'm a human you ain't gotta come tell me it ain't
fucked up but it all is fucked up.
And it all has been fucked up.
I say, me, my own opinion, I wouldn't live in Florida.
I wouldn't live in Florida.
I think Miami, for the record, is a majority Latino.
For what it's worth.
I don't care.
You said that Miami is mostly white.
All right, stop.
Let me correct myself.
I'm not talking about who occupies it.
I'm talking about who runs it.
I'm talking about who controls.
I don't know about the politics of Miami.
Oh, please.
Don't do that.
You've been with me in Miami on tour for Rage and seen it.
Not Miami.
In Florida.
And seen the trucks running around with the Confederate flags.
You've seen the elections lost over Miami.
You've seen the bodies drop in Miami where cops didn't get charged.
Or Florida, not Miami specifically.
Florida, I'm sorry.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's a mistake.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I don't mean Miami.
I mean Florida.
That's all.
We have a great understanding of what goes on in Florida.
So when I cut the TV on ice and see, hey, there's a curfew now and now only.
And now it's spring break.
Okay.
there's a curfew now and now only.
And now it's spring break.
Okay.
I know now it's spring break because my girl who got fucking kids
won't talk to me.
She's busy with her kids.
Hey, my kids is out of school.
I don't have to teach them.
I don't have to do homework.
I'm up for the night.
And if they little asses is up too,
we all up. That's spring break homework I'm up for the night and if they little asses is up too we all up
that's spring break
I'm in Jersey like
big fuck these kids
the rapists
don't do some homework
I'm trying to get my shit on
Joe what I'm saying is
that you like when black people
are hosed down in white states
nah nah that's not what I'm saying at all
that's not what I'm saying
I get that you and Saban's position
is that
well you said that last week
and I won't let you say it again.
Y'all want to see black people hosed down when white people feel like they're destroying the white streets.
Nobody said that.
What I am saying is we got to hold our people accountable too, though, bro.
Like, this shit, we have to be like, all right, you sitting here saying, yo, it's all right, fuck it up.
All right, cool.
That's not cool, bro.
Just that fast, you brought me back to cool to the
pretend beef between this podcast and the conversation that we're talking about now
ice you're right we do have to hold each other accountable you're wrong because us holding each
other accountable looks different than this i'm with you on that it looks like hey my brothers
are going through something over there.
I understand that because I come from it.
Right.
So I'm allotting you grace to go through it and let's figure it out.
That's very different from a white person looking at the situation and saying,
eh, deal with it, broke nigger.
Deal with it.
That's the way to land.
This is our shit.
We'll hire some inclusive black person to act like we like black people what the fuck
did Prince Charles
Harry
Prince Charles do
hey
Meg did that interview
and the royal people
they went and hired
a diversity trainer
yeah yeah I saw that
Clubhouse was going
through whatever
they was going through
I got in the phone
with the owners
it's not nuts
if you understand it
I got in the phone
with the owners
in these apps
and said yo man
if you care about
black people
last year when we was dropping dead yo you'll hire somebody that in the phone with the owners and he's absent said, yo, man, if you care about black people last year when we was dropping dead.
Yo, you're hiring somebody that will help communicate with the black people to understand the black people know what they all say.
Hey, that says to me that you don't care or you're not interested in what it takes to care.
That ain't for me to sit around and try to persuade you on.
I'm here to deal with who knows what.
And whoever don't know it, you deal with that on your own.
I'm not going to Miami during spring break, but that's not because I'm 40 years old.
I'm not going to Miami spring break.
I don't have time to party with these kids.
Yeah, that's not happening.
I've seen it for the last 10 years when it looks like that.
My little cousin just came back last week, and I'm like, dude, you went down.
First off, you went last year during spring break and caught COVID.
Who you went down, like, first off, you went last year during spring break and caught COVID. I watched Luda Wayne
come out of jail
or whatever happened.
He put out a song
and he told the listening public,
live on Sundays,
King of Diamonds Monday.
Right.
That was the song.
And I watched people
from all over the country
rush to Miami
to experience
Live on Sunday
King of Diamonds Monday
I was hitting people like
yo you're not coming home
on Monday
King of Diamonds
beautiful city
I'm just saying

To the fans.
Stop all the hate.

Not Asian hate, black hate.
Stop hate.
That's minimizing, though.
Let love wait.
That's minimizing.
I don't want to.
I know.
True.
You're right.
Stop Asian hate.
Yeah, that's all lives, man.
I just want to say to the fans, again.
It's not the time for that.
I know.
I apologize.
It's cool.
Let you understand that me and Savon
were not trying
to displace

for just picking up

he's not a podcaster

he's thrusting in his position be nice
to the guy he's 27 years old he doubled back to a denver club twice for some pussy he didn't get
and he's got a great podcast with alex savon's ass out of here yeah like if y'all i think that's
a courtesy that we had a podcaster on reserve able to step in just in case something went wrong
that's a protection it It's a luxury.
It's something that you don't take for granted.
But be clear. I'm not trying
to say that Saban is a
replacement for Maul
or Rory. And the funnest
of this, I know Maul and Rory ain't home
thinking that.
Right.
I've spoke to them.
They ain't thinking that.
They feel pretty secure in their jobs right now, right? I've spoke to them They ain't thinking that They good They good They gonna trust me

There's too much good shit going on.
There's too much great things happening for everybody,
even if we get in our own paranoia and our own jadedness and our own insecurities, our own mental.
We get caught up with ourselves sometimes,
and we need our friends to check us.

And you know what?
When you feel loved.
You know what?
I got to get that to you because, you know, I got to salute you on that because a lot of people don't take that.
You know, it's usually some people get into a certain position. And then anybody that says something that's kind of against what they think they're trying to do in a sense of trying to check them they're like oh nah
you gotta go there's a lot of people that when they succeed they don't listen to anybody else
they only listen to themselves so i i gotta you know salute to you that we can talk to you and
tell you like bro you wilding on this so I want people to be able to talk to me.
I'm just saying.
I got to give you props, son.
I know some people out there that if you say something that goes against what they're trying to do,
even if you got their best interests in mind, they will clip you.
Yeah, you're right.
Like, yo, nah, I don't want to hear that.
It's either this way or you out of here.
And you ain't been that person, So I got to, you know,
salute you for that.

One and only life
Ending up just another lost and lonely wife
You count up the years
And they will be filled with tears
Love only breaks up
To start over again
You won't get the baby
But you won't have your man
While he's busy loving
Every woman that he can
Say I'm gonna leave
A hundred times a day
It's easier said than done, but you just can't break away
Oh, young hearts, run free
They'll never be hung up, hung up like my man and me
My man and me
Ooh, your heart, to yourself be true
Don't be no fool when love really don't love you
Don't love you
It's high time now, just one crack at life
Who wants to live it in trouble and strife?
My mind must be free to learn all I can about me
I'm gonna love me for the rest of my days
Encourage the babies every time they sing
Self-preservation is what's really going on today
Say I'm gonna turn loose a thousand times a day
But how can I turn loose When I just can't break free
When I just can't break free
Oh, young hearts
Run free
They'll never be hung up
Hung up like my man and me
You and me
Oh, young hearts To yourself be true You and me Ooh, your heart
To yourself be true
Don't be no fool
When love really don't love you
Don't love you Your heart, can't wait
They'll never be hung up
Hung up like my man and me
My man and me Oh, your heart
To yourself and you
Don't be no fool when love really don't love you
Don't love you
Oh, your heart
Run free There'll never be how love Ooh, your heart's gone free
There'll never be hunger
Come up like my man and me
My man and me
Ooh, your heart's gone free
There'll never be hunger
Come up like my man and me
My man and me Ooh. Your heart's grown free.

20% of me loves rapping.
10% of me likes bad bitches who hate rap but love when I'm rapping.
20% of me does drugs.
And 20% of me eats fruit.
1% of me eats veggies.
And my other 9% will eat you.
Raised inside a warm home.
Boy, I miss my old room Before I had my own phone
When I first came out the cold womb What was on a slow dome?
Ate my stuff with no spoon Blank for days, I just gaze
At grandma, play charades, I frown and throw prunes
I can feel the money in my chest smoke Just dove in a dead pool, taking death strokes
Don't think that my head's screwed, be my guest, folks
I swear I got meds glued to my bedposts And a syrup or a pill for them
And they still strong, learned I could take this one, I don't even feel warm And a syrup or a pill for em and they still strong Learned I could take this one I don't even
feel warm Be a bitch or a lady?
I don't feel for em, kill a shit since a baby
I was still born Then I peeled out like a real sprout
Wailed out, motherfucker, this ain't no Barney or Milhouse
Spoke up, remember I was a joke, but Turned up and now they stuck with they cloak cut
Eeny, meeny, miny, milly, meeny, meeny, with your key to pick a heater
Kick your feet up and dope them other niggas, just hit the leader

Smoke about it if you get it, nigga, cheetah
And simply none other than something completely different
I am simply none other than something completely different

feet cause she won't dance for me, I'm a far cry from humanity, I'm par tied from my sanity,
and a par tired in the fucking canopy, but the dark side put a fucking tan in me And it slanted me, and it damaged me
But I brushed it off and on canvas me Disadvantaged me, but I managed me
Bring a band to me, but they abandoned me So randomly, I was left stranded me
But I'm so hot, it's like no fan to me I can't live right, life left handed me
Can it be? Young and with no plan to leave
Succeeds just so candidly He stood longer than others who tried to stand with he
It's over, said, will you stand with me? Now prepare to be backburned on the same backburner
That you motherfuckers prepared for me
