In the name of equity, the DOE has also eliminated geographic-based high school admissions and tamped down on academic screening. In other words, let's take them for everybody. Everybody deserves it. Tamped down on academic screening. You can get in with an 11 average. Parents are left clueless on what makes sense for their kids.
