Today, we're talking about a shooting at Michigan State, the White House's newest interagency team, lingering concerns after a train derailed in Ohio, and other top news for Wednesday, February 15th. Stay informed while remaining focused on Christ with The Pour Over. Here's the quote of the day. Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it. Leo Tolstoy.
wrong because the majority share in it. Leo Tolstoy. A shooting at Michigan State University Monday night left three students dead and another five critically injured. Students were told to run,
hide, fight during a three-hour manhunt for the shooter, who took his own life when confronted
by police. Why he came to the campus is unknown. Authorities say the shooter was neither a student
nor an employee at MSU. A note in the shooter's pocket threatened public schools in Ewing,
New Jersey, where he has had childhood ties. The New Jersey school district canceled classes
yesterday. Michigan State has canceled classes for the remainder of the week. In another tragedy,
a man drove a U-Haul through crowds in Brooklyn, killing one and injuring eight.
The driver was arrested, and though they do not believe it was terrorism, officials say the motive is still unclear.
The promise of heaven does not remove the pains of this world.
Join us in praying for hope, strength, and peace for the families and first responders of these attacks.
Psalm 23, verse 4 says, Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no evil, for you are with me,
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
The White House is forming an interagency group to investigate all these UFOs.
The U.S. military shot down four objects in eight days, a suspected Chinese
surveillance balloon, and three other unidentified aerial objects, UAO, UFO, potato, potato.
A Pentagon memo described one as appearing to be a small metallic balloon with a tethered payload,
but said little else. The White House promised E.T. is safe, saying there's no indication of aliens, a day
after an Air Force general said he wouldn't rule anything out. After receiving a classified
briefing, senators from both sides agreed the objects do not pose a threat but called on Biden
to release more info publicly. Meanwhile, China has since asserted that 10 U.S. balloons have
entered their airspace since 2022, which the U.S. flatly denied.
Whether we ever discover other lifeforms in this vast universe or not, we can be confident that
God is our shepherd. He knows us individually, and he loves each of us. Luke 12, verse 6-7 says,
Aren't five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight.
sparrows sold for two pennies, yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. Indeed,
the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows.
Despite having the all clear to return to their homes, some residents surrounding East Palestine,
Ohio aren't thrilled by the idea. Evacuations were issued following the February 3rd derailment of a 150-car Norfolk Southern train carrying hazardous
materials. On February 6th, Norfolk Southern announced a controlled release and burn of five
cars' contents. Two days later, residents were allowed back after air tests showed tolerable
levels of fumes, but a letter from the EPA revealed
that more chemicals than originally noted were involved, at least two of which are considered
carcinogens. Residents remain concerned about their drinking water and soil conditions.
While no human injuries or deaths have been officially reported, there are reports of dead
livestock, and Ohio estimates that 3,500 fish have died. At least five lawsuits have been filed.
We live in a world marred by sin.
Even while we work to promote accountability and redemption here on Earth,
we can rest in the knowledge that a day is coming where train derailments and toxins will be no more.
Job 12 verse 10 says,
The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all humanity.

In other brews, here's a rapid round of updates.
January was New Zealand's wettest month in 170 years, and February brought Cyclone Gabriel.
The combo has forced the country to declare its third-ever state of emergency.
A third of the country's population was affected by the cyclone, which left 250,000 without power, washed away roadways, and had some swimming through bedroom windows for safety. A 2021 CDC survey has revealed that nearly three
in five teenage girls and almost a third of teenage boys reported persistent feelings of
sadness or hopelessness, and 30% of teenage girls and 14% of teen boys reported seriously
considering suicide. Experts say the increase in depression and prevalence of social media
is no coincidence. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency call or text 988
former southern carolina governor and un ambassador nikki haley announced she's running
for president becoming the first major republican to challenge former president trump's comeback bid
she'd previously said she wouldn't

prospective contenders significantly trailing Trump and DeSantis. The State Department has a
message to any U.S. citizens still in Russia. Leave immediately. The U.S. Embassy in Moscow
announced Russian security services have arrested U.S. citizens on spurious charges,
denied them fair and transparent treatment,
and convicted them in secret trials or without presenting credible evidence.
Turns out a lot of people watched the Super Bowl.
113 million people tuned in, making it the third most-watched TV program in U.S. history,
behind two other
Super Bowls. Super Bowl LIV tailed behind the highest number of digital viewers ever,
and Rihanna drew even more viewers than the game itself for the halftime show.
