Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne for 70 years and the celebration starts tomorrow. This is not your typical Walmart sheet cake workiversary. The four-day Platinum Jubilee celebration begins by celebrating the Queen's 96th birthday with a parade of 1,400 military

personnel, 400 musicians, 200 horses, and a flyby of more than 70 aircraft from Royal Air Force, Army, and Navy. There's good reason for the hoopla. The Queen has served longer than any British monarch, holding the country together through internal conflict, the Cold War, and family turmoil. The aging Queen has been scaling back public appearances, and rumors are swirling about her potential retirement. The palace has said her attendance at the Jubilee events will be confirmed the day of, and that Prince William and the Duchess Kate will lead the celebrations. Our goal is to keep the big things big and the small things small. It's not that the Platinum Jubilee isn't important, it's just not God of the Universe important. Stay focused on eternity,

it changes everything. Colossians 3, 2-3 says, set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. The EU has issued a sixth round of sanctions against Russia, and it's a doozy. The package includes a ban on most, almost about two-thirds of the EU's Russian oil imports. Pipeline oil was exempt from the embargo to appease Hungary, which is more reliant on Russian oil than other EU countries, and whose leader is a bit more chummier with Putin. Despite the exemption, Poland and Germany have promised to halt their pipeline imports of Russian oil this year, meaning 90% of Russian oil to Europe will soon be cut off. The EU is

hoping shopping elsewhere for oil will make it harder for Russia to fund its war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian band sold its Eurovision song competition trophy for $900,000 and donated the money to the Ukrainian military to buy drones. Here's a verse to consider when hearing about the same leaders and countries in the news all the time. 1 Timothy 2, 1-2 says, First of all, then, I urge the petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and for all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Funeral visitations for the 19 children and two teachers killed in Uvalde began yesterday in a

heart-wrenching start to summer break. While the community mourns and buries loved ones, the DOJ has opened an investigation into the heavily criticized police response, and politicians wrestle over how to prevent future mass shootings. Generally, Republicans are advocating for hardening school security and red-flag flag laws while Democrats are pushing to regulate gun ownership. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in the second camp. Trudeau introduced legislation that would permanently freeze private ownership of short-barreled firearms, ban all buying, selling, importing, or transferring handguns, and create a mandatory buy-back program on all semi-automatic weapons.

The PM believes sports shooting and hunting should be the only reason to own a gun in Canada. We are called to love everyone always, and yes, that includes people who disagree with you on gun regulation. Luke 6, verse 32 says, If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? The police report placed it at $2 million. The FDA is investigating a potential link between a hepatitis A outbreak and fresh organic strawberries. The strawberries were branded Fresh Campo and HEB, purchased between March 5th through April 25th, and are past their expiration. But if you froze them or have a fondness for really moldy strawberries, be sure to toss them. A man disguised as an elderly woman faked a disability to get close to the Mona Lisa and then proceeded to attack the famous painting's bulletproof display case with a pastry
