Well, that was impressive. Let's start by talking about Wimbanyama.
38 points last night for the Spurs.
They beat the Suns back-to-back matchups.
I'll maybe spend a minute or two on the Suns at some point,
but we have to spend a lot of time on Wimbanyama's night.
So I was tracking different things this morning
after watching what happened
because I got really into the magic and jazz,
but this was like I don't know if it's the coming out party I guess it kind of is
you know in the NBA world like it's not like people have been paying attention
the excitement of actually watching him play the highs more highs than some of the lows
wondering what this could really be how good could the Spurs actually be and now it feels like it's
all kind of on the table after what he did
last night. There was a play
defensively where he actually got
turned around by Durant.
So his back was to Durant
as Durant drove left
to Wimbanyama's body.
And Wimbanyama still was able to
spin back around and deflect the ball.
The Suns broadcast thought it was a foul.
Maybe it was.
But it reminded me of something that I saw when he was playing in France
where he was off the ball.
He wasn't defending on the ball,
but there was an incredible cut behind him baseline
and it looked like he got burnt.
It looked like he actually lost track
of who he was defending,
started ball watching,
and then he somehow deflected the pass
as he went to recover. So he saw what was happening, even if it was too late, where every
other player gives up a bucket there or gives up a good look, or at least in last night's case,
Durant gets you completely turned around and he's by you, you're done. And in this case,
when Mignogna, because of his body and his
movement and his instincts, he was still able to deflect it. But that's not why you're here.
Not because of a deflection on defense. If he just runs in games, in transition,
picking up stuff, getting out ahead of everybody, he's going to get 20 a game.
That's just if he were to run the whole time. It was kind of what I thought Wiseman could do
with the Warriors. Like if you just keep running and he plays 30 minutes, he's going to get double digits.
That did not happen there.
Wimbanyama is obviously better than James Wiseman.
They went to him on the last possession of the half.
The shot clock was off.
They had Wimbanyama bring the ball up, and he pulls up and he hits a three.
So throughout the course of the night, it felt
like there were more and more examples of like, what if we just try this? Or what if we let him
do this? And it's not like they didn't know this. They've had him in training camp. They've had him
in preseason games. This is game five. But I guess collectively watching how his teammates played
with him, it was the first time of like, can we try this? Oh, wait, this might work too. Or let's do this again.
I want to run through some more of these plays.
At 95-75, he brought the ball up.
He pump fakes into a three on like the right break of the three-point line.
He passes it to Branham, who I like.
And it ends up being a switch because Phoenix is kind of confused on what's going to happen, their handoff or not.
So the pump fake and the switch gets Phoenix kind of lost.
It ends up with Grayson Allen on Wemba Nyama, who's now off the ball.
And he takes like two steps from the three-point line on a cut and gets the lob for a layup because at that point, Allen's toast.
But Allen's toast in a switch when Wemba Nyama doesn't have the ball 25 feet away from the hoop. And that's one of the things that I really love
from last night is it felt like they were doing more of it, or at least they were throwing the
ball to him a little bit more where they're like, let's try to figure out a way to get him in a
better advantage, not just an on-ball switch, get him some off-ball stuff. And I'm going to go over
a couple of those. At 97-77, they just threw it to him.
It was like a set in volleyball.
It wasn't even like a great seal.
He was just near the rim.
And the guard that threw him the pass from San Antonio
was just like, let me just throw it up there.
And of course he caught it,
because nobody else can go up and get it.
And it wasn't even that impressive,
other than it just looked unfair.
At 99-84, he gets an extended baseline, so he's not deep into the post.
His back is to the basket.
Eubanks has him.
Probably feels like he has the baseline sealed off, but in the NBA, they're more willing
to give you the baseline on the drive.
When you grow up and it's like, don't give up baseline, don't give up baseline.
The better the skill, the better level of basketball, they're more willing to let you drive baseline,
knowing that it's still going to be really hard for you to come back and try to find a way to
finish at the rim with all that size there. He goes baseline in a way that Eubanks doesn't even
think is possible. And then he still kind of recovers. And yet when Benyama finishes with
the reverse layup, the next basket that he scored, they ran an off-ball thing
where KD was on him.
Booker ends up with him.
So now he's got Booker deep.
They throw it up to him again
and Wimbanyama's back is to the rim.
The rim is completely behind him.
And he went up with one hand,
caught it,
and then just dropped it in.
And it happened so fast.
And the way that he caught the ball
and had control of it,
yet despite not facing the basket at all,
just turns around and drops it.
And you can see Booker being like,
I'm like, all right, I have to fight here.
Like you have to figure out a way to be ready
for all of this off-ball stuff that they're doing
that isn't super complicated.
It's just, hey, all right, whatever.
Because most of the time when you're playing in the league,
you're like, okay, they're trying to get us in some switch here. But if our
guy's playing good defense on the ball, maybe they cut off the entry pass and almost 95% of the league
can't throw a good entry pass anyway. You don't even have to throw good entry passes to him. Just
throw it up and he's going to catch it. Teams can't go small. They can't go small against him
because not only are you helpless in some of the switches and
that he's not just some big guy that doesn't have any of these movements. Normally you feel like,
okay, the disadvantage when you stay big and the other team goes small is they're going to pick on
our big guy and bring them out on switches and then just attack them off the dribble.
Good luck. Because I'd say since Kevin Garnett, Wimba Nyama has the best chance to hold up.
It's not like there isn't going to be a time when a really quick guard gets past him, but even if you get past him, he's still behind you with
that size and his anticipation where he's going to challenge a shot even when you think you have
a good shot at it. Garnett's the best I've ever seen, and Garnett wasn't this big, but Garnett
in his prime when he got out and switched on a point guard, he just swallowed you up. It was
actually something where it's like, hey, that 1-5 stuff we do against everybody else, let's not do it against Garnett, and you're not going to
want to do it against San Antonio. At 1-26, 1-16, they ran kind of a block-to-block screen where
Wemby Yama is on the right block, Collins is on the left block, and they're just trying to figure
out a way to maybe get a switch or an entry pass. But instead, Eubanks, who actually sees it coming, he knows what's about to happen, does a pretty good job
because he's thinking, okay, how do I get caught in this switch? Are we switching? Okay, if we are,
let me at least cut off some of his depth so it's not a catch right at the rim, but I also may have
to front him. And then when Banyama decides to do the thing
that he wasn't expecting to do is he flashes to the free throw line, gets the ball, catch right
into rhythm, up into a jump shot. And to Eubanks' credit, he actually got into position, but the
shot was so quick and so fluid off of it that Eubanks didn't even get a chance to contest it.
And the crazy thing of last night for the 38 points
is that I went back and looked at the outside shooting.
It wasn't like he even lit it up from outside.
He was 5 of 14 on jumpers based on Rosillo tracking data.
I know this week I talked about him looking awkward getting into his offense.
Yeah, because it did.
My awkward counter was only really two possessions last night.
So, yeah, I still think there's going to be these times
where it's like, can you really at your size 180 spin dribble in the lane with
everybody swiping at you probably not i don't know that he'll be able to do that but after last night
like this is kind of what everybody was waiting for and it got me thinking about something else
too that i really like i'm really happy that he's on this team. It's not about San
Antonio. It's not about pop, even though I think those are huge pluses. And trust me, there are
plenty of us that were like, San Antonio gets another one of these guys. But when I thought
about it just as a basketball fan for the other options that were out there, this is perfect for
him because it's a team, despite their pedigree and their history and what san
antonio the culture of it all right there weren't real aspirations for this team like a play-in game
with women yama now you know who knows i mean some people are going to start saying some ridiculous
stuff is there are they really threat in the west i don't i don't think i'm quite there yet but
there's a there's a sliver of me that's like i I don't know. Should you not doubt anything about this team?
Look, I just don't think the rest of the team would be good enough to compete with Denver
or maybe even...
I mean, look, there's a Phoenix conversation that could be had here too.
Booker just came back after the first game with the ankle injury.
Beal still hasn't played.
Phoenix is going to be an example of what I think will be a handful of teams where I've
been saying this for years and it's never been more true.
The regular season is not like the playoffs. They're two entirely different products.
And I think we may have a Phoenix type team that, you know, plugging guys in and out,
like Durant had been cooking and then Booker comes back and then Beal's still watching.
And you would have thought Phoenix after losing the San Antonio game as bad as they did earlier
in the week, that would have been more up for this but they were down immediately I mean they got down huge I know
they came back and made it close but there could be a month-long stretch where we start going hey
Phoenix isn't really a contender but we're not even seeing the version that we may even see in
the playoffs if they're actually healthy going into the playoffs so that's just a side piece on
Phoenix a little bit but when it comes to San Antonio and why Wimbledon and I'm so happy for
him being on this team,
is that if it were a really good team
that somehow lucked
into a high lottery pick
and end up taking him
number one overall,
I don't think we would get
to see him show off
the way he showed off last night.
His teammates last night's game
really felt like it was the first game.
And I know it's not new
that they just met the guy this week,
but it just like, wait,
maybe we can try this
or maybe we can do this
or let's just forget these post touches,
just throw it up to them at the rim,
especially against what would be
an unathletic front line against Phoenix.
You know, there may be some other teams
athletically you'd feel like can challenge
some of those passes a little bit better
than Phoenix could,
but that's a big part of it.
It's not like, well, look,
we're trying to serve two things at the same time
where actually Golden State
with some of those lottery picks, it's like, you know what? Even if you thought this would be easy because
there'd be all this space, we have a standard every possession that we're playing to, and we're
not letting you lottery guys screw this up for the dudes that are still chasing a ring. So it's not a
situation like that. As rare as that would be for a team with championship or let's say conference
championship appearance aspirations, that's not exactly San Antonio. The other thing is the rest of the guys around him.
He's not on some team with a lottery pick guard that's worried about his next extension,
who's going to go, yeah, this guy's nice, but I still got to get my 20 and I got to get some
all-star votes because I want to get a shoe deal and I want to be able to do all these other things.
Kellen Johnson already got his contract. Vassell already got his contract. Sohan's the next guy up,
but Sohan is a lot like Scotty Barnes. I love those players. Every team should want those guys, but
there's a ceiling on what they would be offensively, so they're not going to have their possessions
get in the way, even though there's been some times with Sohan where I'm like, whoa, man,
you're really trying that? It's not going to be so in the way that it's detrimental to the
opportunities for Wimbonyama. Or imagine a team like the Wizards. So even if Wimbonyama got a lot of looks,
he'd have Jordan Poole going,
nah, not today.
I'm not interested.
I'm not interested in being your teammate,
even though we have the same uniform.
If he had made his jumpers last night,
he'd have 50.
So I'm pumped for him.
I'm pumped that it was just,
like, it's not going to be like this.
You know, as I say it out loud,
I'm like, it's not going to be like this every night. I as I say it out loud, I'm like, it's not going to be like this every night.
I don't think he's going to average 38.
But there are going to be nights
where the other team looks helpless.
And that was certainly the case for Phoenix.

I like the Ravens minus five, minus five and a half,
depending on where you're finding it, against Seattle.
When you look at Seattle's wins, I think they're an okay team,
but not a great team, but flying across the country.
Their wins are Lions, Panthers, Arizona, Cleveland, PJ Walker.
So I like the Ravens laying the points there.
If you want a little action on a total,
how about an individual one? Chuba Hubbard, running back, Carolina, 46 and a half yards,
taking the over against the Colts. Colts played a fast pace. And when you're looking at Hubbard's numbers, he's getting the majority of the carries there. So the last couple of weeks, he's become
kind of the guy. So with more possessions, more offense needed,
all that kind of stuff, over 46 and a half yards.

Here we go. We got Danny Connell. It's kind of a little late in the season for us to do this.
We haven't had you on yet, have we? No, it's been a minute, man. I thought you were mad at me. I didn't know what I did wrong. What's that like?
Do you think you live a life where you're like, wait, is this person mad this week?
It could be. I mean,
I, you know, the way things go on, uh, social media, you never know if I said the wrong thing,
stepped in it. I do talk for like eight hours a day. So you never know if there's a misstep here or there that could set off the wrong person, you know? So it's a little,
so it's a rough existence. Yeah, man. Talking for a living, talking for a living and be like,
wait, why is that person mad? And you're like, Oh, last February you said, and like, Oh, man. Talking for a living, talking for a living and be like, wait, why is that person mad? And you're like, Oh, it last February you said, and like, Oh, okay. All right,
let's get to it. Um, I was, I was expecting more Danny Cannell angst after the committee rankings
came out this week. We haven't really even touched on it. So we were saving it for you.
You be here, buddy. Um, look, Ohio state's one, you were upset about it. So I'll just let you go. Why were you upset the Buckeyes were number one?
mad. The problem that I had was that it was kind of funny because as I'm watching the guys on the show and it's Herbie and it's Galloway and it's Greg McElroy and Reese, and they go around after
they reveal the rankings and they're all like, yeah. And when they were analyzing the rankings,
they're all like, yeah, Ohio State has the two biggest wins. They beat Notre Dame on the road.
They beat Penn State. And so they're all like justifying them. And then when they come back
around, they're like, well, who do you think is the best in the country? And it's like Georgia,
Oregon, you know, somebody else. And so no one said Ohio State. And I just kind of laughed. I
was like, well, this is kind of interesting because none of these guys who cover college
football for a living think Ohio State's the best team in the country. And yet we're all like, sure,
just leave them up there at number one. I get it's the system. So here was my issue with it.
So I think you'd go with the resume, right? If they clearly, if they have Ohio State over Georgia
and Michigan who have been more dominant, I think they both, the eye test, both Georgia and Michigan
have looked better than Ohio State, but they lack the wins. Totally okay. I've always been a resume
based guy. Like, hey, if Ohio State has a better resume, put them there. But then why wouldn't you have Florida State
number two? Because I think their resume is clearly better than Georgia's or Michigan's to
this point. And so there's a little bit of a dichotomy that's unfolding. It's like, well,
then all of a sudden you say Ohio State resume, and then you say, well, Georgia and Michigan have
the eye test.
And it's just kind of Florida State just kind of left aside.
And I get it.
It'll all unfold.
Florida State, you know, if they win, they're in.
But I do think, and we saw this in 2014,
the first college football playoff with four teams,
when Ohio State limped in, they were the defending national champion, and they had to travel out to Pasadena to the Rose Bowl,
and it was 90% Oregon fans. Seeding does matter. So yes, I think Florida State, if they get in,
they win their in, but where are they ranked? And they could have to travel across the country
again, which is an advantage for a lot of teams. Well, I agree with you. I don't think Ohio State's
the best team, but to have those two wins should mean something. And I know that that means
immediately I'm contradicting myself. I mean, this is impossible to do and have an opinion on
all these teams without breaking whatever rule you think that you're adhering to, right? So from an
eye test thing alone with Ohio State, it's just not offensively what you're expecting. Defense
is insane. It's incredible. But I mean, would you
pick Michigan or Ohio State today? Oh, Michigan all day long. I agree. All right. Would you pick
Georgia or Ohio State? Georgia all day long. So when I do mine, I have Georgia one, I had Florida
State two, I think I had Michigan three. And I give Georgia the one spot just because they're the champ.
Like, to be the best, you got to beat the best, and nobody's beat them.
I mean, this win streak is insane.
They're all of a sudden starting to look good.
Yeah.
I think that's the important thing, too.
Yes, absolutely.
I do think what'll be interesting is, you know, if they slipped up,
somehow got beat, or if they lost in the SEC championship game, do they have enough juice to get in with a loss?
Depends on who they lose to. But I think what George is doing is unbelievable. Carson Beck
is completely flying under the radar. He is having the best passing season in the history
of Georgia Bulldog football. And that includes Matthew Stafford, Aaron Murray, Stetson Bennett. I mean, the numbers that he's putting up rival Eric Zaire,
who was like one of the most prolific passers in history. Now he doesn't have the championships
that could come or could not, we don't know yet, but he is. And I thought he was flying under the
radar because Brock Bowers was getting so much attention, and deservedly so.
But without him, it's almost like people are starting to realize, oh, this kid's pretty good.
I mean, he's going to set a completion percentage record.
He's probably going to have a yardage record.
I don't know.
Maybe he gets the touch in a season.
But the Georgia standard will be, well, do you win the third championship in a row?
But he's been incredible, what he's doing. Yeah, totally under the radar. You just figured like, okay, I've made this mistake
before, big time program. Hey, the next guy's really good. He's a big recruit. He'll be fine.
I know he made that mistake with Florida, with Texas. I've done the history and all those dudes
that I'd be reading about being like, hey, this guy's going to be awesome. Remember Garrett Gilbert,
just by seeing him against Bam in the title game, you're like, Texas is good. And then it's like, wait, I guess this guy isn't that good. Beck has been incredible.
And they were in total control against Florida where granted Florida, you can, like, I still
don't think they're an easy team to beat. It's not to the standard that they had hoped to have
in Gainesville this year. But the reason I was doing that whole thing is I agree with you on
the first two because I am giving Michigan and Georgia the benefit of the doubt. But you're right. It feels
like all the rules are broken where Florida State's win against LSU is far better than anything
Georgia or Michigan has done. So then why are they not getting the same bump that Ohio State is? But
would you pick Florida State to beat Ohio State? Ohio State, potentially, yes, I would pick them. Against Michigan or
Georgia, I wouldn't. Because I think on a neutral field, I think Florida State is more balanced.
They have so much firepower on offense. And Keon Coleman, I can go toe-to-toe with Marvin
Harrison Jr. I think they're going to go wide receiver 1-2 in the draft. He is insane. I was
on the sideline in Orlando against the LSU game. It was
the first time I'd seen him in person. And you had heard like, you know, the coaches were telling me,
Hey, wait, do you see this guy? And you know, he was one of the bigger transfer portal moves,
even though it didn't feel like it, it was kind of an afterthought because he left so late
and it didn't really garner a lot of attention. But then I saw him warm up and the dude,
I mean, I remember Shannon sharp, the way he looked like in pads
and like when you roll up, you know when you go super
high and you roll up the knee pads and you can see like
the bottom of your quad and he just like
tries just popping
and then even though I was like
okay, this guy looks the part, but we've
seen those guys before that look like
Tarzan play like Jane and you're like
and then he delivered in that game
and they told me he catches everything in practice so So they've got him, they got Johnny Wilson.
They've got weapons that I think can rival Ohio state. I would give Ohio state's
defense the edge, but I give Jordan Travis the edge of quarterback. Cause Kyle McCord has been
good at times, but man, has he been erratic? And I think that's something that could potentially
hold back Ohio state. Okay. There's no question. It Travis over Cade McCord. I think Cade is all right. And Harrison,
I feel like saves him every week. And having Henderson back at running back was huge for
them against Wisconsin. Because I think if you're somebody who's just kind of paying attention to
your team and then not the rest of the stuff, you may be like, oh, whatever with Wisconsin.
I don't think Wisconsin necessarily had a chance at any point in that game but they kind of did so I look
at Wisconsin it's almost like the Florida thing we're like I get it you're not going to ever sit
there and say hey you know who's really good is Florida or Wisconsin but that wasn't an easy win
on the road against them and I thought the rushing attack that's been a problem for much of the
season get just a huge boost from Henderson who we remember what three years ago when he first came
out on the scene senior like who is this guy but if you look at the Florida State
part of it because it does feel like I'm agreeing with you I don't think it's because you played
there I feel like it's a little unfair because I'm going to that LSU wins a really nice win
is it you know what's the game is it the BC game being close to people not think they were supposed
to to take a care of Clemson at Clemson?
Maybe that's it, that Clemson isn't Clemson. But I remember watching that game going,
that wasn't an easy win to win one score at their place.
Their resume keeps deteriorating as the season goes on. Because Clemson's four and four. At the
end of the season, if you don't look at the brands, which I don't like people doing,
you got to hold it to the same standard.
It doesn't look as impressive.
And it took overtime, right?
I mean, that was a game that was down to the wire.
So Florida State didn't have much game control.
The Duke game, I think even though, I think even if Riley Leonard still played,
he clearly was not himself, the Duke quarterback.
He had come off that injury against Notre Dame.
He was not himself.
And I know that
Florida state was trailing. I just, I felt like Florida state was in a good spot. They felt the
Jordan Travis through this pick six, they handed him some points. It was just, it's kind of a
fluky game early. I felt like Florida state. And that's one thing I do think Jordan Travis brings
to the table is this veteran who's played a ton of football games. He's been through a lot of ups
and downs. Like I wasn't that worried about him. Even against LSU early in the game,
he had a couple of ill-advised passes.
It was like,
where is he throwing that?
But he settles down when it matters.
But I think the Duke game,
the perception of Duke,
that they're not very good,
even though they just won again,
you know,
last night with their third string quarterback against wake,
they're five and three.
Like they could be a seven,
eight win team
which just if you go by resumes at the end of the season it might look better but the perception of
them and then the boston college game you mentioned it boston college is also five and three like that
game looked awful but if you watched it like costellanos who nobody knew their quarterback
who he was he like all of a sudden he looks like like the next Michael Vick or something like he's out there making plays running throwing so like I get it I get why people aren't impressed but I still think
even if you just went by one win alone Florida State's win over LSU would be one of the best
wins in the country and we'll see I mean it might look we'll have a common opponent you know if it's
if Bama wins let's see what the score is Let's see if they control the game and dominate the way that Florida State did at the end.
And then if LSU wins, then I think it looks even better for Florida State, that win.
Yeah, the BC one is weird.
Castellanos was incredible.
You'd have to have watched that game.
And I know Travis got hurt, but that was towards the very end.
And then there's the mistake.
So, right, you just add up all the little things.
The Duke game, Riley Leonard's basically trying to figure out a way to walk on the sideline during that one, but they outscored
him 21, nothing like between Coleman and Wilson. It's just going to be hard for a lot of teams to
quiet those guys down. It's a lot like the Harrison thing. Although I think you were being,
it seemed like you don't have as much of a gap between Harrison jr. And can't Coleman is the
rest of the country does. I don't. And I think when the draft process plays out,
because Keon Coleman got such a late start to the conversation.
I'll be curious to see what McShay thinks, you know,
when you have this conversation with him.
Because like Marvin Harrison Jr., his name alone has garnered a lot of attention.
He comes in with a lot of hype.
He lives up to it.
I want to make sure I'm not trashing him,
because I think this is how much respect I have for Keon Coleman.
Like, I just think that gap is going to be pretty low and they're going to start being compared next to each other.
And people are really like what they're going to see.
You mentioned Florida State.
Do you think there's a, and trust me, it's FSU Twitter.
I get they can be sensitive just like a lot of fan bases.
But it does feel like people don't like Florida State.
Do you get that sense?
No, I don't.
I'm going to tell you what's going to happen to every team all the time, forever time.
Okay?
This is really simple.
Georgia's on an insane streak.
They're getting the benefit of the doubt.
Ohio State has been in it.
They're getting the benefit of the doubt.
Michigan played back-to-back playoff appearances. They're getting the benefit of the doubt. Michigan played back-to-back playoff
appearances. They're getting the benefit of the doubt. Florida State has just been down more
recently. I think the resume thing makes it sound like it's a contradiction, but to act like it's
personal against Tallahassee. By the way, the same way Florida State got the benefit of the doubt
after their championship, when they had all those weird games, we were like,
what's going on with them? How come they're not as good? And they'd end up being number one in
the rankings. It is not regional. It's not cultural. It's fucking nothing. It happens
every year and every fan base that feels like they're victim of it feels special enough to
think it's only them where I can basically go through every year of the rankings and go,
look who gets the benefit of the doubt and who doesn't.
We did it with Texas post McCoy.
We did it with Florida post Tebow.
Okay.
So I don't think it's, I know what you guys think because I read it all 10 years ago.
All right.
I remember the Rolling Stone article that I couldn't even believe was published.
believe was published that was just written by a dude who was like, when Cassidy Hubbard was mentioning the scores, she said that Clemson destroyed Duke 31-17 and that Florida State
escaped Louisville 31-17. This was the argument in this piece that was written in Rolling Stone.
It's like, have you ever talked to anybody? Somebody that's anchoring a TV show is just
saying different things all the time to say
the same thing over and over again.
So if you're mad about the semantics of it.
So look, Florida State benefited from the same thing that they're accusing these other
things of benefiting from after they won their title with Jameis.
Because I remember, I remember every week.
Remember that season?
Every week you're like, dude, they won, but they don't look nearly as good.
Guess who's atop the rankings because of the previous year. Wasn't that the year
they were four? Wasn't that the year after they won
the title? I think it did hurt them
because I think they were undefeated and they came in at four
when it did actually hurt them.
That was the year I was referencing early.
Right, but it became, I mean, I'm going to
have to go back and look at all this now, like on the
fly here, but I just remember it
became, they were three three and that's when they lost to Oregon.
So they were three.
Cause I remember the big thing was they were like, oh, they're not going to have, they're
like, they're not going to send Florida state out there.
And then they did.
Um, but hell, I just, I don't want to have to go through this whole thing again here
with you.
I just look, I was doing the shows every day back then.
And we kind of come in being like, hey.
I mean, it's the same thing as looking at the NFL with the Eagles or something.
They're like, hey, they're 7-1.
Yeah, but are they as good as they were last year?
Because there's some things that look a little different if Hertz isn't as good.
It's just once you're that good, you're held to the standard.
But they had the overtime game against Clemson. Wasn't there a weird Louisville game in there? They beat them
at their place. It was like fourth quarter comeback after fourth quarter comeback. It was
not a pretty season in the regular season. That's why I picked Oregon to beat Florida State.
Yeah. Did we all go out there? I was actually out there for that game.
Yeah. I think we were all out there. What do do with what do you do with michigan because i i i do think it is a story to pay attention to uh you know i do think
there was definitely cheating going on but what do you do with it but yeah no but i mean like because
i think it's funny this this dynamic that's unfolding is you have fox people accusing
efcn of saying oh, make them not be unable to
play. And then you've got some Fox analysts defending it being like, ah, we can't do
anything. We got to wait until it all plays out until after they win the title. There is something.
Do you think there should be something done before the season's over or before the playoffs?
I am very simple when it comes to punishment. I would want the same punishment for a stranger that I would want
for a loved one. Okay. So I think when there's weird stuff that happens in life, people are like,
I can't believe this is happening. It's like, okay, but would you want that to be
the process for you? Would you want that to be the process for somebody that you care about?
So look, I don't care about Michigan one way or the other, but something this serious,
I don't know how you would come to a conclusion where you would be banning them from postseason
play.
Like, how are you going to pull off that investigation this soon?
Of course, the other coaches are saying, hey, now it looks egregious.
Okay.
It looks egregious, like way over the top.
They've already been caught kind of contradicting themselves a few times being like, yeah, I
don't even know what's going on with this dude and then there's just all these videos popping
up the central michigan stuff i can't get enough of with the glasses that film things and the light
goes on and it's a goatee it's like did somebody in central michigan give them gear in the equipment
room and they're like head on out there so i think it might be really bad and it feels a little bit
more like the astros where there's cheating's a gray area right and then there's times where everybody's on the same page being like that's ridiculous what
the astros did it feels like that's what this is but guess what's going to happen i think the big
10 is going to punish them before they have a chance of getting a national championship for
that conference and then the ncaa i never really know like every now and then the ncaa be like well
they can't do anything it's like well then they do and then, the NCAA would be like, well, they can't do anything. It's like, well, then they do.
And then other times, you're like, the NCAA is going to come down so hard on this team.
And you're like, no, they're not.
So I don't know how you could feel like it was a fair investigation to be done this soon.
Maybe they could.
Maybe they could.
But I also know the motivations behind it.
They're not going to want to prevent one of their own from having a
chance of winning a national championship, especially with the run the SEC has been on.
Which I do think is the big difference in the SEC and Big Ten, because when the SEC
was coming and starting to dominate the recruiting rankings, and there was a lot of
payments under the table, there were a couple times when schools started to accuse others
publicly. And Mike Slive had a moment where he said, hey, we're going to keep all of our stuff out.
We're not going to we're not going to air out our dirty laundry.
So don't be you can tell it to me.
You can tell it behind closed doors.
But I don't think you would have seen those leaks because he understood it would be what's best for the conference.
I do think it's unique that we're seeing the other coaches complain and be more vocal about this. What was
your motto again? You would hope, what was your, that you live by with punishments?
I would want the same punishment for somebody I don't know or don't care about that I would want
for myself or a loved one. So, but also I also know some of these parents that like have their
kids and they love them. So they never want to discipline them either. Like you don't want to
have that situation. I'm not talking about like being
a shithead at recess i'm just talking about like there's there's a very look there's a very simple
thing that happens in our like we love when the especially if it's like a famous person or something
like that like we love when there's trouble okay and it's like oh famous person or something like that. Like we love when there's trouble.
Okay.
And it's like,
Oh,
you got to fire him.
Or,
Oh,
this person's the worst.
Or like,
how come this hasn't happened yet?
Or how come this guy's on the team?
And there's all these different things.
And I just always think like,
maybe that would be the right thing to do,
but it's not what you would want for anyone.
You know,
right.
I've tried to put myself in the position saying,
what if this was Florida state?
I would be defensive. You guys. I'll be honest with you. I would be, Hey, I would be defensive.
I would be upset. I would be embarrassed, but I would be saying the same things that Michigan
fans are saying right now, which is, Oh, you can't do anything. You know, we're not going
to have time for an investigation. Like, I'm very well aware of that.
And that's why I don't envy Tony Petitti, because it would be unprecedented.
Like, I cannot fathom a world that we would live in where he would say,
yep, we're just going to shut you guys down.
You're ineligible for postseason play.
I can't imagine that.
I don't think the NCAA works fast enough to get an investigation done.
So I can't envision them, you know, coming to the forefront
and saying, Hey, we're going to shut you guys down. And the college football selection committee
where ward manual, the athletic director for Michigan sits on the committee. I don't envision
a scenario where they come out and they're like, we're going to hold against them. So I think
what's going to happen is we're going to play out the season. Michigan probably is going to make it
at least to the playoffs. And I I've picked them preseason to win the title.
I think they're that good.
It could be just a part of college football's glorious history.
When we argue about whether it was a legit title or not, you know,
which I think sucks because I love this sport,
but I think there will be a blemish on it.
If we don't get some clear cut information, which again,
I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
The stuff in central Michigan, I thought it was a Halloween hoax because it came out on Halloween.
And I'm like, wait, this is somebody's costume, somebody's thing. And then I was like, oh,
it's got to be deepfake. There's all these deepfakes out there. And then I see Jim McElwain,
who has already been involved with a picture scandal when he was back in Florida. And I'm
thinking, what is happening? I'm with you, Danny. I don't know. I mean, I don't know if they'll have time or feel like it'd be a
fair investigation. I could also understand. It's like, well, why can't you just suspend
Harbaugh until further notice? I just don't know that's going to happen. The thing that really
suck is if they really get to the bottom of this, you know, for Michigan fans, like if they were to
win the whole thing, then I mean, this just becomes like, how much do you want to pay attention to all
the rest of the noise? Like You have a national championship and then
everybody's going to say that it didn't matter if the investigation says that they went so far
beyond breaking all these different rules. And then Harbaugh's in the NFL and then the punishments
for a bunch of kids that had nothing to do with it and moving forward. But it just reminds me of
Ohio State and Jim Trestle a little bit. Do you remember the timeline for that back in 2011?
Jim Trestle a little bit. Do you remember the timeline for that back in 2011? So he was going to be suspended for two games. This is all back in 2011 before the season started. And then they
were like, people were kind of like, I can't believe he's not getting fired. Right. And I
kind of loved it because Ohio state, and I remember doing this on the radio because Van Pelt and I
would go at it for a little bit where everybody was just of the same opinion it was like well
trestle has to be fired now and how states actually were pretty good and we really like
them so we're just not going to fire them and then it was a two-game suspension and then everybody
got mad and they were like i can't believe this so they're like all right it'll be a five-game
suspension but we're not firing like sorry everybody and it was just i started for it. I started rooting for the defiance because everybody else just wanted
him fired because he was good and made Ohio state better. And it made your big 10 season bad.
And then finally he resigned. I have to go over that. I could even do like a monologue on the
whole thing of, of just Ohio state being like, yeah, cool, whatever. Like we're not going to
do it because it's going to make us worse. And if this is left up to the big 10 in Michigan, my guess would be, it'll be motivated
to just let's, you know, we'll worry, we'll see how the season goes, see how the season goes and
worry about it later. And even though I think based on at least what I've seen, like this feels
like it, whatever that line is, that imaginary line of like of like dude you can't do that they were
doing but maybe you know look i'll have an open mind about it but i think i know how this story
ends because i've seen it before yeah i don't think they're going to face any punishment until
after the season i really i hope it kind of resolves itself when i say that i don't want
michigan to lose because i think they're really good i think that'd be the easiest exit for
everybody if ohio state beats them them, they get left out,
and then there's something that comes out after and whatever.
Who cares then?
But if they do win the national championship,
it will be something that's argued for 100 years
between Ohio State and Michigan fans.
You just know it will.
Leave me out of that one if it takes 100 years.
Okay, so that would mean, say Ohio State beats them,
and Ohio State's in, Georgia's in.
Maybe open the door for a close rematch of Oregon-Washington.
Two Pac-12 teams in.
Let's do it.
We've gotten into a lot of arguments about the SEC's dominance.
We don't need to rehash all of those.
We know our positions.
But this year, the Pac-12 has been, I feel like,
the better conference. But I feel like to have the belt, there's still some work to be done.
It could also be a blip. The best performing stock that quarter doesn't mean it's the best company,
but this has been the best performing concert, I should say conference, especially when you look
at that handful of teams at the top, you're like, man, that's just a lot of good teams. And even in Arizona, fighting back a little bit this year.
So where are you now with the conference hierarchy? So I think the Pac-12 has,
they're in the driver's seat right now, but what's coming back, it's like,
the conferences are more alike than they're not. And that's always been my issue.
And when the SEC was put on this pedestal because, you know, the Pac-12,
they got off to such a strong start because it was, oh,
they have eight teams in the top 25.
One of them was Washington State, who ever since they had the, you know,
the deal with McAfee and Jake Dickert's out there saying we should be a
power five conference.
They've lost four games in a row.
And that's just one example.
Like then you, then you like every other conference, you start playing each other and you start
banging on each other.
So I think like everybody else, they probably have two legit playoff contenders.
I think, and what I do hope, I do hope they get one in.
Cause I think there's a, they could end up doing like they've done every year for the
past six or seven years since the last time they had a team in is they could end up playing each they've done every year for the past six or seven years
since the last time they had a team in, is they could end up playing each other,
beating each other up, and then you have a two-loss champ,
and they're sitting on the sidelines.
I think Oregon is the team.
I mean, and I know that's kind of a popular opinion,
but, I mean, all you got to do is watch them play.
I thought after the Washington game, I was like, man, I was like,
can I get some title odds on them?
Because they were in Seattle. You had the 0 for 3 with the fourth down ones and I had no problem with
any of them right I mean yeah if I was coaching maybe I would have made a different decision but
I love the aggression and the aggressive mindset and you know Michael Penix drove him and you know
right there two plays and drove him back you had a chance to win you had a field goal to go to
overtime just didn't work.
I would take Oregon to win that game if they played again.
I think their defense,
because that's the biggest impact Dan Lanning has made,
is they're a physical team.
We saw that against Utah.
I think Oregon will get in.
I think Oregon will be a one-loss Pac-12 champ.
I would like them in a rematch.
And I think Washington's in a tricky spot this weekend
against USC. But I think Pac-12 is the best conference. But again, it's not like,
oh, they deserve two teams in. No, and I'm not quite sure that I'm there yet with it. But I mean,
you just brought up SC and it feels like everybody was just like, okay, well, again, one of the
losses against Notre Dame where they get hammered and then it finally happened to him against Utah
where I didn't think Utah's offense was going to be able to exploit SC's defense and it did
and then Caleb Williams you know I don't I know he was bad against Notre Dame but when you look
at some of the top ranked losses like look how many points his defense is giving up and I think
in a weird way I had this theory before I'll share with you like they're so used to him having the
cape that I think it maybe screws up the whole team where they're just like, well, the old line's
like, he'll figure it out. We're just like, let me just, he'll find a way to make a play to get us
this win. And that hasn't been the case, but they're still five and one. They have the second
best record behind Washington in the Pac-12. And that's the matchup this weekend. There's really
nothing momentum-wise
for SC that you'd feel good about unless
you've watched the Huskies the last month
where you're like, wait, what's up with that team since
the Oregon win? Totally agree.
The loss to Notre Dame is devastating
because it was ugly. It was on a national
stage. Notre Dame is a good brand and they're
a good team, but that wasn't even
close. I don't know if you can overcome
a blowout like that and be able to make it in. I'm not saying for the playoffs okay just after the pac-12 i think they're the team
that could screw up the pac-12 which would be kind of ironic since they're also one of the ones that
helped blow it up by leaving to the big 10 because yeah i could see them like this the line this
weekend is peculiar because you should if washington's as good as we think they are,
they should be at least a touchdown better. I mean, they should be able to win in the Coliseum pretty easily. And yet it's a field goal. That to me is a big red flag. Like USC might be the
side in this one because I don't think Washington's defense is that good. So the over the totals
insane. So I could see the shootout that people think you're going to get. And if it's a shootout type of game, you mentioned it.
USC's been in them all the time.
Like they are more than happy.
Like, sure.
You want to shoot out?
We'll go back and forth up and down the field because we've got our guy.
If we get the ball last, we have a really good chance.
We'll we feel like we're going to win, but see, that's where I don't like,
I that's where I think Washington falls short.
Their defense really struggles.
And that's why I do think they're going to struggle this.
The issues the last couple of weeks,
did you see about the flu that they had,
you know,
or Penix was puking this last game,
like before the game,
apparently like when he still had four touchdowns,
I mean,
that doesn't really excuse what happened at Arizona state.
I give him a little bit of pass in that one,
but that was dicey as it gets.
I mean,
the pick six and the fourth quarter saved
them and they were on the verge of losing. And then Stanford, they gave up 33 points.
Apparently there was a flu bug glowing around the team. Like I don't hold it that against them.
And that's the other thing. So like when we talked about Florida state, we talked about the BC game,
like what happened? I give teams, all of them sort of a pass for that type of situation.
When you lose a game like that, or you win a game ugly,
as long as you didn't lose,
but you get one of those a season.
That's where I'm at with you with Washington.
Real quick,
before I get one last thought from you here,
who would you pick Oregon or Georgia?
Probably Georgia.
You know,
like as much as I like Oregon,
it's just hard to go against the pedigree.
You know, I do think Oregon I like Oregon, it's just hard to go against the pedigree.
You know, I do think Oregon's built defensively in a way that could that could compete.
You know, that's why I like Texas a lot earlier in the year.
I was like, look, look at the front.
Like, this is a little different. Now, Texas is going to get through its own stuff with yours and the shoulder sprain.
All right.
Well, look, you know, I'm here for my it's my 13th bama lsu game in the
last 16 years there was one flight situation i think it's 14 to 16 or 13 to 16. kovid was one
year flight situation was another i i don't know what to make of this game at all and that's after
watching both teams play all season long the jade and daniel numbers are incredible look they're
number one in offense for lsu yards per play. The scoring stuff, Daniels is now, he's completing throws 15 air yards or more at like 64%. There's a really cool breakdown on the athletic and talking about that slot seam route that you can just see in your head, finding the guy inside and finding a way to get out and open one-on-one against a nickel or a safety.
way to get out and open one-on-one against a nickel or a safety. The vertical throws are a lot better. And yet I just kind of can't shake some of the throws from Jaden last year where
like he just didn't trust anything. But yet the numbers tell you he's a completely different guy
and that he should be built to go into Tuscaloosa and at least compete with Alabama. And then the
other side, you have Bama's defense is statistically a lot better than people probably realize because
you spend so much time talking about Milrow kind of week to week not really being the guy i have i really have no
read on it i i almost can see any outcome with this and i think it's unfair for me to feel that
way about jayden because there's just too much evidence that tells you like look what they worked
on look how much better these throws are like some of these vertical things that he wouldn't even do
last year the conversion rate for this stuff,
everything tells you he's built for this,
and I'm still not sure.
So I think one of two things is going to unfold.
I think LSU wins.
They go to Tuscaloosa.
They go back-to-back.
Or if Bama wins,
I think they win by two touchdowns.
I could see Bama taking control of this game early
and kind of sitting on it the second
half, kind of like they've done, you know, Ole Miss.
The Arkansas game, they got
up early and it almost, you know, kind of hurt them. They kind
of, you know, squandered around the second half.
But if it's a shootout, like if
it's a high scoring game and it's close,
that's where I like LSU a lot.
So I almost like want to live bet this game
to kind of see how it unfolds.
But this Bama team feels different.
And I know a lot of people are like,
well, Bama's back to being Bama.
They're not the same.
They're not dominating opponents
the way they were in the dynasty.
They are vulnerable.
And for both sides of the football,
I still think there's massive question marks
about Milrow.
I had an NBA three-pointer
theory with Bama's offense. It was like the NBA, the three-pointer changed the game, right? They
just started taking them because the percentage, they started looking at the analytics, even
though people always want to take the easy bucket. I think Milrow is like the deep ball guy.
Instead of trying to dink and dunk your way down the field
and you complete 70% of them, throw the ball down the field,
take the shots, and maybe you don't complete as many,
but you're still going to hit enough of them
where you're going to probably win most of your games.
Like that's where he's thrived.
He's found his connection with Jermaine Burton, which has been special.
He's completing 60% of his passes that go 20 more air yards down the field.
Like they're a big play offense.
The thing that it really concerns me,
because I do think,
I think Jayden Daniels will be able to put up some points.
Like I'll be surprised because as much as Bama's defense looks better,
like their best defensive game was against Ole Miss.
But like,
I don't know.
And I know Ole Miss is good team there,
but I don't think they have the weapons.
They don't have the quarterback that LSU does.
And the last time they faced a really good quarterback in a really good scheme,
they got beat.
And, you know, Texas put up 30-plus points.
So I don't know if Alabama's defense is fixed.
I just think the quarterbacks they played against the last few weeks
have been less than stellar.
And this will be a challenge for them.
But I'm kind of like you.
I don't feel great about either side i honestly don't i do worry like milrow i think
it's going to play a huge role in this game but where is bama's run game like they haven't been
able to run the football and they're 126 in the country in sacks their offensive line is bad but
lsu doesn't have wingo like like there's a lot of things I just don't feel great about. No, I can't figure out if LSU's
going to compete with its secondary, which at times, whether it was against you guys at Florida
State or I went to the Ole Miss game, I mean, that was just, I mean, they were, Ole Miss is down in
the fourth quarter at home. You're like, all right, this is kind of an ugly one, but LSU's going to
pull it out. It's like, they just couldn't get off the field at all. And at that point, Kiffin just
like knew, I mean, Kiffin was so greedy. He was upset they scored early.
That's how bad it was getting, despite Daniels having a great game on the other side.
And the D-tackle situation, other than Wingo, I don't think it's been great for LSU,
but you're right. I don't know what is going to be discovered here and if it's a mirage.
Does it mean that LSU defensively turns you know, turns things around and they compete?
But Milrow is going to beat him on a couple of deep shots.
Burton is that good.
Bond's been better.
But you're right.
That team's averaging Bama's offense 3.7 yards per carry right now.
And you're just surprised they haven't been able to get something going as Milrow is a threat as well.
And Chase is really good.
McClellan, I love that kid at running back and all the different things you could do with him.
But I'm glad you said it because it's the difference between kind of like,
oh, Bama's rolling again, whatever. No, it isn't. It isn't. But at the same time,
I don't look at LSU coming in here taking care of this vulnerable Bama team because one,
their defense. And I might be the last person saying it, and it feels entirely unfair about the Jane Daniels thing.
Like, I know what the numbers are.
I know what the throws are.
I know the development.
I looked at all the stuff.
I've seen it all.
But I guess I'm like, man, I'm third and seven with that place going crazy in the fourth quarter.
Is he a guy that can deliver that throw?
And look, that's a pretty short list of college quarterbacks that could do that anyway.
But at least we know what the receivers that Lsu has like they have a chance because look neighbors and thomas are are studs
and so they're going to get you out of jail a few times um because of that good but i just i don't
really have i don't have any certainty whatsoever and honestly that's kind of the history of this
game although there are some stretches there with lsu offensively we're like are they gonna cross midfield tonight you know right there was a few games even when they had letter cornet
right you'd be sitting there going what do you guys want to do later uh hey man this was great
where can all of us hear and see you so promote it now every morning sirius xm channel 84 uh with
dusty vortex 6 to 9 a.. Then he got cover three podcast,
which debuts everywhere podcasts are and on CBS sports HQ.
You got time for a quick story?
Yeah,
absolutely.
I'm wearing my hat rep in Grove 23.
So that's Michael Jordan's private golf course.
And I just got to play it like a month ago.
So he was in the group in front of us all day.
Like we saw him, he had like eight dudes out there with him,
like his buddies that goes back from high school.
And Dwight Farini apparently like is his best friend.
They play all the time.
So I didn't want to harass him.
So then we go in after and we're in the clubhouse
and I was nervous.
Like there aren't many people,
like you and I both met a lot of people,
like, but Michael Jordan is the goat, right?
It's like, you like, I don't know what to do.
So I wanted to approach him, but the club is really strict about pictures. They're like,
no pictures, no autographs. They're like, don't bother MJ. So I'm like totally respectful of that.
But I wanted to have a line. I wanted, cause like, and then you're like, what's an in,
like, do you know some common friend? Do you know something? And I was going to ask him,
I was going to go up and be like, Hey man,
the ceiling is the roof. Do you, how do you think that would have gone over with MJ? Because I was,
then I was going to be like, Hey, I was there when you guys had the big announcement that you
guys were doing Jordan brand with North Carolina football team. I don't know. Would that have been,
would that have been an opener or would it have been got me kicked out?
I would, I love it. Yeah, no, that's that's the other thing is yeah we were in attendance for that one the
ceiling is the roof and the the funniest part about him saying the ceiling is the roof is that
we're in like a carolina section for that game i mean granted it was a carolina game but like we
were in a hardcore like i guess the whole arenaas the Carolina section but you get the point so like these are not people that wanted to criticize Michael Jordan is the
point and Danny and I I remember just looking at like around at other people in the stands and
the fan like I met just a couple older men being like what what was that like what ceiling what
what is that and everybody's kind of like, yeah. It's a lot.
You know what it is?
It is like the biggest gap between risk reward.
Massive, massive risk reward.
Because he might have hated it.
He might have been like, hey, that's not funny.
Like, I've heard that a million times.
Or he'd be like, that's hilarious.
Because it was one of the weirdest quotes ever.
They made shirts, right?
I got to get one of those.
You and I should get those.
Remember, I made a hat.
You made a hat.
You custom.
Next time I go, I'll just wear the hat.
And then if I see him, I'll see if he says anything.
And if not, that's all I'll do.
So you're playing his course regularly now?
How's that work?
No, no, no, no.
I don't know.
I hope to get invited back.
It was the first time I'd ever played it, but I'm working on it because it was pretty spectacular. It's pretty cool.
All right. I love that story. Thanks, man.
I figured you would. See ya.
The Alliance strikes back. Big win. Everybody feeling good.
What's up? strides back big win everybody feeling good some people did crunch the numbers boys and it means
if you rolled with the alliance and the parlay payout you're actually on the plus side of things
despite let's go the tough streak so let's not let's not get arrogant about it let's not get
arrogant about it um don't let us get hot you know yeah don't look out so what was the order
last week to remember oh remember? Oh, man.
I think I went first.
I think Kyle did go first.
And I think you went last, Ryan.
Yeah, I think I went last.
All right, so let's go with that again.
I don't love that we didn't remember it, though, but it's tough.
We're doing a lot of these.
All right, Kyle, what do you got?
Well, it's fitting that I'm going first because I'm going back to the well,
and it feels great to say that.
We're looking at Florida State.
They're at Pittsburgh, and we're taking a minus 21.5, which
really works because they just got killed
by Notre Dame last week, and then the week before
that, they lost 21-17 to Wake Forest,
who, if you remember, that's what we won
with Florida State's
plus 20-something against
them. So this just seems like too easy.
I'm feeling great. Probably shouldn't, but we're
going to take Florida State minus 21.5
at Pittsburgh, and that's going to give Florida state minus 21 and a half at Pittsburgh.
And that's going to give you minus one Oh five.
Yeah.
That weight game.
You didn't even have to sweat it.
You didn't have any stress beers.
The fourth quarter.
You're like,
I'm good at this.
That was easy.
I was sweating a ton.
Cause I had what I had the,
uh,
Georgia,
Florida line over.
It screws me up every time.
Cause I want to say Florida,
Georgia,
but whatever.
It doesn't matter.
Um, and I'm sitting there. I saw you two hit your bats and i'm like i cannot be the i'm at i'm at my uh my daughter's first birthday party and i'm like i cannot be the only guy to not to ruin
this thing so i'm sitting there and i was like kind of sitting by myself and i was on the edge
for a little bit uh and then like i think around wait so you were the dad at the kids birthday
party steve's phone wow i was just looking at it. There was no TV.
There were no TVs.
I just kept looking at my phone.
And like, at first half, I felt great
because I think there was like 30-something points
in the first half.
And I'm like, oh, this will be easy.
And it was actually kind of a close game.
And then, like, it kind of slowed down.
That ended up going way over.
So we were good.
We were in a great mood at the first birthday party
for a lot of reasons, but one of which,
because I wasn't the only one who lost.
So I'm going to go completely away from
what I did last week. This is a weird
one, guys, but I'm going to take
the over three and a half touchdown passes
from Michael Panix Jr. against USC.
I
don't know what's going to happen in this game. A lot of
people are on USC. I don't know that I feel comfortable
with USC. Their defense is atrocious. The one
thing I do know is that USC's defense
is terrible. USC might win this
game. They might throw for a million yards. Maybe Cale
Williams throws five touchdown passes. I don't
know. But I do know Washington's going to
score. They're going to be able to score. They don't run the ball super
well. I think Panic, they've had a couple weird weeks,
but they're still scoring points other than the 14
points a couple weeks ago.
I think he throws at least four touchdown passes in this game.
I think it's going to be a shootout. And at the very
least, I think Washington at least puts up a bunch of points
and probably wins.
He's done it five times.
Minus 114, by the way.
Okay, he's done it five times.
So if you'd expect somebody, I mean, four is a lot that you're going to have to get
against SC and his track record.
I can't wait to watch that game because I feel like Washington's almost kind of
a do-over reminder game here, but would
that be against SC? And that number is so small that it makes you think like, okay, I can't
actually bet this game now. It was like the Denver, Minnesota NBA pick, but I had to give out
two NBA picks this week and I went, okay, so Denver's minus two and a half at Minnesota.
Like that's so ridiculous. Don't even bother. And they ended up getting crushed. So that
was almost like a win. It was like a two-in-one week
on NBA picks. Okay, I am going to go
with the game that I'm attending.
I don't have a read on it.
LSU, it opened up plus four and a half.
It maybe disappeared immediately.
It's three everywhere. So on FanDuel
Sportsbook right now, it's Bama minus
three. I'll take LSU and the
three points. We have to bet the
big games. I was looking at that Kansas State-Texas game there a little bit because Kansas State's a
team I had a lot of hope for. Then the Missouri loss is nearly as bad as you think it was the
beginning of the year. Missouri's been really good. We'll see what happens with Georgia.
We're going to pick the big games. I might as well. It's not like I'm not going to be rooting
for LSU anyway, but I'll take the three points in a game that i have uh i'm i'm ready for any outcome in that one so with that amount
of confidence on the third leg of this parlay uh because i was even though i said hey i don't like
the rule that i'm breaking with my utah owes me money i felt pretty good about that because i
just think morgan's really good and that was that wasn't easy. This one is not. Were there any other games
I was thinking about? I guess I'm
asking myself that right now.
I meant
us, the collective.
I'm usually good at the games that I don't actually
pick on the pod.
Some could say
I'm the best at that.
I like Notre Dame minus three
against Clemson. I almost picked that. I like Notre Dame minus three against Clemson.
I almost picked that.
I like Iowa State minus two and a half against probably a letdown spot for Kansas.
So a couple spots there, too.
I felt like Kansas owed me money.
So I really believed in them after they came out of that thing, almost got free.
Yeah, but that's the big thing.
A lot of times, Kyle, like a program like that, that kind of win,
then guys that actually know what they're doing will be like don't ever bet that team because they're just going to be so full
of themselves they rage on saturday night they take it through the week they're just so happy
with themselves they're gods on campus that coaching staffs hate that because then it's like
all right we gotta get these guys focused gear up for the next one um So, you know, just a little lesson. We're learning.
We're learning on the fly here. That's the Alliance. Again, check
the latest odds

You want details? Bye.
I drive a Ferrari.
355 Cabriolet.
What's up?
I have a ridiculous house in the South Fork.
I have every toy you could possibly imagine.
And best of all, kids,
I am liquid.
So, now you know what's possible.
Let me tell you what's required.
Life advice. The email address is
lifeadvicerr at gmail dot com.
It's Kyle. It's Steve. My name's Ryan.
So,
you know, the reason why we initially named it Friday Feedback for that to do once a month is we were going to do like feedback follow-ups that we thought were really valuable to the people.
We have a bunch of people reaching out to our lonely guy in Nashville, and I think we may just forward those emails to him and you guys can work it out amongst yourselves.
But people really liked you. A lot of dudes did, but it's not like I shared the picture with anybody.
like to. A lot of dudes did, but it's not like I shared the picture with anybody. So we had a lot of MMA people chiming in after the guy who decided that he wanted to fight. And I will tell you at
times MMA community can be a little tough. And I don't mean that the cool way, but these emails
have been incredible. So I did want to share one before we get to two questions, if you guys are cool with that. So far, most anyone that chimed in that we read or that I saw of the MMA follow-ups with the guy that wants to potentially get into a fight, an amateur fight, they were great. So we thank you for those.
I heard your advice to the 25-year-old guy looking to get an MMA.
I agree with most of your takes, but I had a couple points to make.
Background, 39 years old, 5'6", 195, fairly thick.
Yeah.
During COVID, could do 3 x 10, 315 pounds in squat.
Wrestled from 6th to 12th grade, was good, non-elite, less wrestler.
Won 75% of my matches senior year, went to nationals in Greco-Roman.
Graduated from Purdue with a degree in mechanical engineering. As he wrote that, I was like,
wait, this guy wrestled at Purdue? And his next sentence was, I was not going to make that
wrestling team. Coached wrestling throughout college. Was assistant coach at a local high
school for three years before grad school. First degree judo brown belt, blue belt in nogi
Brazilian jiu-jitsu. 1-0 amateur, MMA, very rudimentary boxing experience.
My one amateur bout was a classic striker versus wrestler matchup against another guy in his first
fight. It was probably pretty boring to watch as I took the guy down each round and pounded on him
from there. My friend's camera ran out of storage halfway through the fight, but here it is.
That's amazing that the guy ran out of storage. After the fight, I realized I didn't get hit at all and figured that probably wouldn't happen again.
And there was no upside versus an engineering career.
So that was it.
1-0.
Undefeated.
We love it.
That's the way to do it.
Yep, I won.
You fought once?
Yeah, yeah.
Won.
1-0.
Retired.
So point number one, when you say that a good coach will not put you in a bad position for a fight, but not all coaches are good.
Understood.
The gym I worked out at had three to five mixed amateur and pro shows a year.
Before you get into the ring cage, be sure to attend a couple events with multiple fighters from your gym.
If your coach is good, they'll generally have a winning average, but it won't be over 90%.
These events are usually moneymakers for the gym, so there's an incentive to fill out the card.
90%. These events are usually moneymakers for the gym, so there's an incentive to fill out the card.
If your coach's fighters aren't winning noticeably more than half the time, then either your coach's training and technique is not that good, or his matchmaking is poor, or both. Like you mentioned,
there's a wide range of skill at the amateur level, so there is room for true beginners.
Also, winning 100% of the matches is also a red flag. Also, you don't have to go full MMA. There
are plenty of Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments where the risk of injury is pretty low compared
to what guys in their 20s have been known to do on average. If you don't have to go full MMA. There are plenty of Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments where the risk of injury is pretty low compared to what guys in their 20s have been known to do on average.
If you don't have any martial arts experience, I would suggest training three times a week for at
least six months before any Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments and at least a year before anything
was striking. Point number two, a few months ago, you had the question about three guys in a bar
versus Conor McGregor. I could not believe your responses, but then I realized I was thinking of
me and my two friends from Brazilian jiu-Jitsu, not guys off the street.
There's a huge difference between guys with a decade plus of martial arts experience and someone who half-assed a couple of years of wrestling and has half a dozen boxing classes under his belt.
Three reasonably athletic and experienced martial artists would win unarmed combat.
Wait, three guys with experience in martial arts would win unarmed combat against a single guy.
Their size are smaller no matter how good he is.
Okay, so I guess he agreed that I thought three random guys would get worked by McGregor.
Yeah, I said, like, I'm talking about, like, I'm talking about, like, the shitheads who have
Zinn content on Instagram, like three of those guys fighting McGregor.
I'm not talking about, like, you and your two buddies to the emailer.
We're talking about the guys haggling about that. The Buffalo Wild Wings, if the beer is
whatever, you know, it's not cold enough for something. Talk about those guys.
Yeah. I'm just talking about like three regular guys where after the first guy got hit,
the second guy's like, I don't want to do this. And then he gets hit. And the third guy's like,
I have, I don't even know these guys. Like those are the, those are regular guys in my world,
not you who clearly you're into the combat stuff there so i
think we actually ended up agreeing which was was the original point so anyway look again if
anybody's thinking about or being into i thought that was some some pretty good stuff there and
want to do what i think is i think all of us should challenge ourselves all the time put ourselves in
spots where you're like i don't know know. I don't know if I feel
super comfortable. Maybe that's good every now and then. Okay. Let's get to a couple of emails
here. Quick. Mooching or friends doing me a solid. 6'4", 230, 26 years old, bench 225, 19 times last
year before I got injured. Shout out to you. My friends and I have always gone out to the bars
right outside of downtown Kansas City pretty much every weekend, maybe twice a weekend.
The four of them live a few blocks away from where we go out, and I live a block away from where we went out until a few months ago when my roommate moved in with his girlfriend, and I temporarily moved in with my dad around 20 minutes away in a suburb in Kansas.
I don't know if I retained any of that.
You guys, do you get it?
I think the good times all broke up, and he's living with his dad looking for something.
Right.
What I was expecting to be a month, good call, Kyle, or two back of my dad's has turned into three or four months and will likely be around nine months total.
The stay at my dad's has turned into me trying to save money for my new place by myself with getting ready for back surgery on a herniated disc that has kept me from walking, sitting and living normally for a long time.
Sorry about that.
That sucks. The four of my friends have been letting me stay over pretty much any night on
their couch unless I went home with a girl. That back doesn't hurt that much, brother.
Unless I went home with a girl that lived in my old apartment complex. Sometimes I would even go
back to their place early before them because my back hurt so bad. So you're going back to their place early before them because my back hurt so bad. So you were going back to their place before they were there.
Okay.
I'm extremely against drinking any beers and driving,
even if I feel fine as I got a DUI when I was 17.
After drinking three total beers, I weighed 150 pounds.
Some bad math right there.
Zero tolerance, man.
Yeah.
For those young guys.
I thought nothing of sleeping on their couch until a few jokes came about like
he needs to start paying rent i clean up trash try not to be a total dick and leave stuff a mess
before i leave i am curious what you guys think these are some of my best friends but am i a
moocher is this bothering them without them saying anything uh so i guess they're in their mid-20s.
It means they're going out a lot.
Did you guys see this as, like, it's not every night, right?
It's just when they go out.
Also, do they live together, too?
Are these separate guys?
No, they all live together.
Yeah.
All right.
So I think, yeah, all right.
Yeah, I thought I got to go out Friday, Saturday night,
maybe stays up a couple nights a week.
Yeah, look.
First of all, you could be on thin ice or you could be on the thickest of ices ever created.
I don't really know what I was saying there.
Dudes are going to tell other dudes.
Yeah, dudes are going to tell other dudes they should be paying rent, even if they like the arrangement. Okay. So I don't know which way this is going. I think it's cool. They're even sensitive to it. Um, but the idea of it versus the execution
are always usually two different things. You know, when you're like, yeah, man,
stay with me anytime. It doesn't really ever mean that. Okay. Um, I had a situation where the first place I lived, Somerville, where I was just kind
of renting a room, but I knew some of the guys, but I didn't know all the guys. And things were
not great. And I was kind of working construction during the week. And then I take the ferry over to
Mass. And then I drive up from Woods Hole to Boston. And then I get like a couple of days in,
and maybe I'd fill in on a shift somewhere. And then it was becoming like, hey, I can't be on Martha's Vineyard swinging a hammer if I get a call that day to be like, is there any way you can do tonight's shift? So I was like starting to actually get some of these fill-in shifts at this local radio station.
renting a room from these guys. And, you know, for the most part, I knew all of them, but there was one in the, in the mix that was, it was, it was pretty bad. Like, you know,
there was some drug use. There was a night where some guys came back to fight him over something
other than, I remember coming back like home that night and there was like just all our furnitures
broken and there was blood everywhere. And I was like, I'm just going to go to bed guys. Good night.
And so the reason I bring that up is that two younger dudes, shout out Phil Signoroni and Chris Rose, UVM soccer guys. They were younger
than me, but I had bartended with them when I was still up school. And they just were like,
straight up like, Hey, you can stay with us because you probably can't stay there if you're
trying to get this career thing started. And I didn't have a place to stay. I didn't have money. And I slept on their couch for a couple months. And these were like
younger dudes than me. And I think at that point, I was like 20. I was 27. And they were cool with
it. And yet there was always a moment where it was like, hey, just make sure when you make food,
it was like, hey, just make sure when you make food, you do this. And back then I wasn't as neat as I am now. But like, hey, if you have laundry, like put it over there. Because the
point is, is that even though they were doing me a solid and they were totally okay with it,
it was a huge, huge help to me because like career wise, I needed something like that to
just have a safe space and just kind of go in and out. But I still had to make sure I
was following every single one of their rules. And there was never a moment where I could be like,
actually, guys, let's have a house meeting. I don't like the way we do our garbage, you know,
because you don't fucking live there. And I was kicking in for utilities. I think at one point
they didn't charge me any rent. These guys did me an incredible, like lifelong type favor.
And yeah, I didn't love it because I felt like, like you should feel a
little guilty about it. If you're really comfortable and have no guilt whatsoever. And deep down,
you're like, this is sweet. I'm not paying for anything. Yeah, right. Then you're kind of the
problem. So Kyle, I don't, I don't really need to keep going on any of that other than then don't,
don't feel bad that they're giving you shit, but it may be worth you addressing it because at some point when you're staying there for free,
there's going to be a time where a guy looks at you being like,
dude, you're here again?
And it's just the way it is, and they may love you to death.
One of them, at least, in his safe space is like,
we got this fucking guy again.
The first thing I'd say is you probably don't clean up
as much garbage as you think, which is fine.
I just think he's like, you know, I pick up garbage when I can.
It's like,
that's what you say when,
you know,
you're grasping at straws a little bit for how much you bring to the table.
I wouldn't,
I don't know if I would bring it up,
be like,
Hey,
do you,
are you guys actually okay?
But maybe step up your guest game a little bit.
And it's like,
when you know you're,
you're driving to go meet up with the boys,
maybe you stop at the gas station.
You're like here,
I brought this 30 rack for later. Or if they're not 30 rack guys, maybe, you know, do whatever your at the gas station. You're like, here, I brought this 30 rack for
later. Or if they're not 30 rack guys, maybe, you know, do whatever your version of that is.
But like, maybe if you come bearing gifts, it takes the edge off a little bit. I think that's
easy. That's easy. But yeah, I think, I mean, this is all temporary anyway, right? As long as
you're really, you know, doing the right thing and you've got some cool shit planned for your future.
And maybe even bring up your future stuff when you actually are making moves on it or something.
You don't have to be like, hey, I'm going to be out of your hair soon.
But you're just like, normal, good for me shit.
You're like, oh, man, I'm really closing in on like 15 grand here.
I mean, this has been great.
I'm looking at places like, I don't know.
This isn't your favorite thing. I wouldn't start throwing numbers around maybe don't throw numbers
around i got all this money this is the best deal ever you stop me there i'm saving a ton of money
how about you guys no it's not that you're right it's not that but maybe but maybe you're like i'm
looking at places now or something like that you can just be like hey if you guys see any places
you know let me know i'm getting into that mode or something you could you could do something like that you're right definitely don't say how much if you guys see any places, let me know. I'm getting into that mode or something. You could do something like that. You're right. Definitely don't say how
much money you've saved by mooching off your dad and your friends. But I think if you're just like,
you be the gift guy and then you also be like, hey, I got shit moving here. So they're not just
like, is this guy having the best time of his life and doesn't want this to end? So I think
you're probably in your head a little bit, but you could probably be a better guest as well.
Yeah, it seems like they're comfortable enough to joke about it with you in front of them. I don't know that you could probably
judge how angsty that conversation is. If it's just them dicking around, then
yeah, it's probably just guys being guys. The most important thing here is that
you have, as constantly, there's some future plan here. It's not like
you're just mooching and that you don't have a plan you're getting the surgery you're trying to save up some
money like there's a clear like timeline of your life that's going to happen and this isn't a
permanent thing so it's not like they're gonna have to like worry about having to kick you out
or like ending the friendship um i think you know it's one of those pay it forward things too when
you do get the new place like make sure you have them over maybe throw a party or two pay for some
stuff um i think that's just all about like being a friend and being
and being a good dude so yeah like they might just like to make i mean we make we guys make
fun of their friends that's like the sign of endearment they like that so like them dicking
around with you about you know about you mooching on living off their couch like that's just kind of
i think that's like that's a friendly like hey you know we're just trying to bond i guess with
it with our with our other friends so i don't think it's that big of, I think that's like, that's a friendly, like, Hey, you know, we're just trying to bond, I guess with our, with our other friends. So I don't think it's that big
of a deal. I think, uh, you just got yourself aware enough to know that, you know, don't be,
don't be a dick pay for some stuff, but also, you know, you have a plan. So it's not the end
of the world. I don't like that. The default is usually always the same answer of like,
just make sure you guys all get on the same page and talk to him about it, whatever.
But it kind of is because guys just don't do it very well. So I think the end around of that where you're not sitting down
saying, hey, everyone, I want to let everybody know how much I appreciate this and let's have
a meeting. Do something for the guys. Buy four pizzas and bring them over and just go, hey,
or on the text thread, be like, hey, look, tonight's the night or whatever, but I'm getting dinner for everyone, all right?
Or like, I'm Sunday weirds.
I'm getting four milkshakes.
And we talk about girls from school.
Like, do something where maybe you don't feel like
you have to have like a talk with everything
or everything's out on the table,
but it's like a preemptive thing
where you're doing something that's unexpected,
that shows kindness and shows appreciation.
So if you're buying a meal from everybody and getting takeout, it's like, Hey,
I just want to make sure I do something for you guys so that you know how much this matters and
how much I appreciate it. And we all know like, you know, whatever, it's gone on a little longer
than I thought it would. Simple, simple things that are unexpected like that. Like you gain so
much equity with the group, especially with dudes at that age
because a lot of dudes at age don't do it you don't even think about it i didn't do that but
i'm older now to understand like hey that would have been a nice thing to do but you just were
like whatever we could spend money on these dicks but but do something like that. And I guarantee the vibe rewards will be off the
charts. Okay. Let's see here. There's something else that I really liked. Oh, this is incredible.
God, this is so good. We always have to find ones like these that are different. Okay. Are you ready for this one? It's so simple. Six foot, 185, 40 years old. I love when we get some of the guys in the, granted this guy's younger than I am, but every now and then there's a little spice to the 40 plus crowd email. Because you're just like, hey, this is what I am. Deal with it. All right. So 25 pushups when I wake up every morning, this guy starts the day off with a little Herschel Walker. I'm a Broncos fan and raised my kids to be Broncos fans. Needless to say, I was excited when my 18-year-old daughter started dating a guy who also likes the Broncos. My daughter, her boyfriend, and I watched the Chiefs Broncos game together. And the boyfriend continuously told me during the game he didn't want to talk about the game for fear of jinxing it.
continuously told me during the game he didn't want to talk about the game for fear of jinxing it. When the clock hit zeros, he finally said he couldn't believe, quote, we won. And he started to
cry. Not full-blown cry, just some tears of joy, the kind you get when your team wins the
championship. As a Broncos fan, I too was glad to end the 16-game losing streak in Kansas City,
I too was glad to end the 16 game losing streak in Kansas City, but crying about it, even crocodile tears seemed a bit much.
What are your thoughts about his response?
How should I respond to his tears?
Am I losing my sports fandom?
No, he's a fucking psychopath.
Okay, you are normal.
You think it's normal to cry if you're a Broncos fan in a week seven win against the Chiefs, Kyle?
Well, I've never been down that bad, though.
I'm a Patriots guy, so I've never been down that bad.
Have you ever cried at any of your team's wins ever?
I absolutely have.
That's what I'm saying.
I've never been down that bad where a week seven win would be, let's see, several Super Bowls.
I mean, the Seahawks one, come on.
That was like fucking storybook um i think probably the balling towards the fourth quarter of the atlanta
i can't picture kyle crying about anything this is this is wild to me well it was in the midst
of screaming and yelling but there was probably something streaking down my face i can see it
wow i cry at shows and stuff too i mean god i cry at movies like movies you know i'm not i'm
not afraid pretty much shooing for any extreme home makeover it's on dabble now if anybody's wondering it's uh it's
pretty much on all the time on dabble channel but uh towards the end there that's extreme home
makeover i mean i'm pretty much a shoo-in you cry at the end of extreme home makeover
yeah dude what are you talking about the it's probably the music but also it's like ah you
guys are good people fuck yeah you guys are good people just happy man finally got a ramp in there that's great
all right well now you're making me feel like a dick if there's no ramp alteration in there then
yeah okay so well i mean i'm gonna lay out i'm gonna lay out by the way i made a mistake i just
referencing week seven i guess to be technical here it was week eight i don't think that changes
anything okay so kyle doesn't change much for me you, you're an 18-year-old boyfriend.
You're over at the new gal spot.
Her dad's there.
You're bonding over this Broncos fandom.
And you think it'd be normal for you to cry a little bit,
breaking a streak.
I don't think it'd be normal,
but I think it would be acceptable.
You know, I'm trying to be the dad and not the kid here,
but I think it's a little weird
that he didn't like talk about the game at all.
So I think he's got like strange football habits, but he likes the thing you like,
which makes it okay. You know what I mean? If he was like a chiefs fan or something doing it,
like, I think you, like, you have a little bit less grace. I just think, I think you're an old
guy and younger people are getting weirder by the year, as older as you get. Right. That's just how
everybody thinks. So I'd say have a little bit of grace with it. And it's not normal, but I think it's acceptable.
If he cries after every win, that's, you know,
then there's like chemical imbalance, I think.
But this one, you know, it's a big one.
We don't know that, but yeah.
For the record, I'm not anti-sports crying.
Like, I'm not.
There was a video of this old guy who was sitting on his couch.
I think his son filmed him after the Rangers won the World Series.
It was the first World Series title he's seen.
He's a big Rangers fan his entire life.
I think the quote was like,
his wife was like,
you didn't cry at our wedding.
He's like, well, I've known the Rangers long
that I've known you,
which is incredible.
Good point.
Yeah.
So I totally, I get it, man.
Your team wins the title for the first time ever,
like crying, like college football,
whatever, any of that stuff.
I get it.
I just think, you know, regular season W season w your team sucks they've sucked for a
while and you're doing this in front of your your girlfriend's dad and her i just think there's he
probably wants that back be better yeah he probably wants that back i gotta be honest when the pats
beat the bills i walked out of frolic room like will smith in pursuit of happiness when he got
the job i'm not i'm not kidding i was I just walked out. I had like an outer body experience.
I think I was shot in the same location too, right?
I think I was just, I was out of my mind.
I don't think I cried, but I probably could have
if I really wanted to let it go.
But so that was a regular season win,
unexpected win versus the Bills.
So I don't know.
I could see it.
Man. Yeah, no, I don't think I've ever cried at a sporting event in my life uh but it's not again i'm not saying i'm some sap because
i'll cry i'll cry at movies all the time i'm not afraid give me a movie you need a movie cry
oh man dude up you ever seen up the pixar disney pixar movie every single time the first like 20
minutes that movie is like the most incredible it's incredible and it's how do you not cry if
you don't cry then you you don't have a pulse.
You know when the riders of Rohirrim come down and save everybody at the end of Lord of the Rings Two Towers?
Correct.
Yeah.
Get a little choked up.
Interstellar.
Cried during Interstellar when he's watching Murph grow older.
And what is it?
There's like seven years per hour on whatever planet they're on.
And he's looking back and then she says she doesn't want to talk to me that's an incredible scene i cried it's pretty
every time i see it cried for that one i mean mcconaughey's he's got tears you know running
down his face how could you not cry yeah mcconaughey really sells that he does a great job in that
scene up is uh i'm with you on up the beginning of up is like all right but this is broncos chiefs week eight so i think i think what we need to do here
is um it's cool that he cares about the things that you care about i think the fact that you
know that your daughter's new boyfriend's a passionate person um that you know there's a
lot of young dudes out there that don't care about anything right the parents listening right now
being like my kid has no interest there's nothing so it's
cool that he's very he's very into this i don't think you should have said anything but you
definitely should have emailed us and you should talk to your buddies being like my daughter's new
boyfriend started crying after the broncos win um but i think it's just something to monitor
you know which is kind of a default for a lot of things i think you're going to monitor it and
you know ultimately like they're 18,
so it's probably not going to be
calling your dad anytime soon.
I think it's weird, though. I put that under a beige flag.
I think that's about it. I'm not saying
there's a breakup
situation here, but I think you mark
that one down. If there's a couple other things,
then that's a red. Maybe as a dad, you do some recon
and you're like, hey, big cryer, you think?
Or did it just sneak up on him like that'd be great though i mean obviously
at 18 although 18 i think is old enough to be messed with by the dad a little even though totally
right imagine the next time they're watching a game again and like they convert a third down
i feel like high school is like hey you're gonna cry out a box of tissues
hey hey man yeah i feel like high school
is fair game for that if you're in high school and like you know my daughter is updating somebody
and she's you know they're fresh in high school i'm gonna mess with that kid for sure yeah it's
a little adversarial isn't it i'm not gonna be a dick but like yeah it's all right yeah but if he's
15 no no i think i think being a little bit of a dick is is to be expected uh at least you want
to be a little bit feared you guys are kind of on opposite teams right i mean even though you're both broncos fans yeah no that's another
point to this but i think 18 is is pretty much free game you would you would think but you also
don't want to be a jerk to the guy but i yeah i think it's weird i think it's all of us think
it's weird except for kyle is that fair i think he wants that back i think if he could if he could zoom out and be like damn wish i didn't wish i didn't do that week eight
but um i think it's i think it's one of those things it's i don't even wouldn't even call it
a low point i think you just i think it should be accepted not encouraged accepted not encouraged
okay but what if the guy's like that was awesome awesome. Remember when I cried? I was so happy. Good to see you.
So do we want to talk about the Easter weekend?
Well, if he sticks around, maybe it'll just be that one-time story.
Like, that would be cool.
If it's not like, you know, dad's friends are coming over the next week.
All right, so here's the thing about Todd.
He gets a little emotional.
Like, as long as it's not like part of your scouting report,
if it's just a one-time thing, that's cool.
Like, as long as it's not like part of your scouting report, if it's just a one-time thing,
that's cool.
I can't imagine being me and having my 18 year old daughter at my house watching a game.
And then this new guy on the scene starts crying.
I just can't. Yeah.
Cause I can't say nothing.
I can't say nothing, but I'd have to.
But I would definitely ask her.
I mean, again, this is where people get upset when we talk about, you know, things like
this with not having kids as if none of us can understand the concept of like going to
your daughter.
Hey, what's up with the crier?
Yeah, I would ask her and then I would totally make a cry joke the next time, you know, the
next time we're in a football situation, I would do that.
Make light of it.
There's a retirement ad,
Charles Schwab.
You look at him like you're holding it together.
I would totally plant some tissues for the next time,
just because it's going to be a great joke.
If you deliver it correctly,
I think that'd be great.
Teenagers don't cry about those ads.
Older 40 year old guys do.
All right.
That'll do it for us.
Thanks to Kyle.
Thanks to Steve.
Thanks to Wargon thanks to wargon
the war daddy helping out today and uh we'll be back on monday recapping the college football
weekend and we're a couple weeks into the nba so this is an awesome overlap time of the year
