That was the latest I've ever gotten ready. I was fooling around like crazy this morning.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Holy shit. Holy shit-oly. Good morning! I haven't heard back from Greg this morning. I assume he'll be on. Why are we late? I was talking why are we late I was talking on the phone I was talking on the phone I was fooling around I was fooling around with
Starting point is 00:00:49 fooling around with the exerciser no I was I was fooling I was on the phone this morning I was fooling around with JR I guess I guess I don't need the instructions for this oh yeah I was fooling around on the phone. First, I was fooling around. I got up early too. Fired up in girl, fired up in girly. No, fired up in,
Starting point is 00:01:13 I don't know what word I was going to say. I guess I was fired up in girly this morning. And then I got out of the shower and I was running late and then I was just looking like while I was in the shower, all three of my boys came into my room and jumped into bed with their mom. I was just sitting there just staring at him
Starting point is 00:01:29 I can't even believe it two seven-year-olds and a ten-year-old and a grown-ass fucking hot Jew woman in bed together All knocked out sound asleep, but it's just it's a crazy morning wood this morning Crazy it's funny. You should bring that up Barry crazy would what happens is is the night the nights that I yeah anyway that's a different story would the trip would uh let me finish the story with my kids. It's just a trip because I've seen I've seen all three of them in bed. Like I have that picture in my brain burned in
Starting point is 00:02:13 I've probably taken that picture a hundred times if I had a little more time this morning I would have taken the picture again I stand on the bed and I use the wide angle on the iPhone and I take a picture and I have so many of Them of the four of them in bed together. It's so funny, but now they're big. They march in there. I get up at six. I start, I'm in the kitchen drinking coffee, looking for stuff for the show, looking over
Starting point is 00:02:36 my show notes. This morning, I normally don't talk on the phone before the show, but this morning I'd been playing phone tag with JR. JR's got such a busy life with his kids and his gym. And so this morning I got a chance to talk to him and I talked all the way until 6 50 and the show starts at 7. Actually I think when I think I saw it go to 6 51 and I was like fuck I haven't even showered yet JR. I gotta go. I was so bummed. It's hard to get his time. He's so busy. It's hard to get his time. He's so busy. So, but, so it was cool. It was cool talking to JR this morning.
Starting point is 00:03:11 That's why I'm late. And then, and then I stopped and was admiring my, my kids in bed with my wife. But as I'm on the phone with JR, I just see them march by through the house one by one. Two of them just go by me. They don't say shit one of them are e the one that comes on the show a lot He says hi to me What is this I heard that um What is this I'll have to look at this later. A lot of people have been talking to me about the old Sevon podcast lately. I guess people are going back and watching it.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Yeah, it seems like it's like coming up every single day now I Wonder what's going on It wasn't called the seven podcasters called the CrossFit podcast Eatin beaver good morning. Enjoy it. They're growing up fast Anyone know which vans Taylor was wore at crucible hmm hmm hmm um Clive McLaughlin said he's the whole American cross the community predominantly conservative or just your show fans am I right the general population are a lot more evenly split god I don't know I don't think it's um I don't know I don't think it's um, I don't know. I don't know but you know, there was some there were some
Starting point is 00:04:48 news articles going around you know a year or two ago and They were talking about how people who work out working out makes you more conservative and I don't I don't know how that could be I don't know. I don't know how that could not be true I don't know how that could not be true. The things that make someone conservative are the fact that they have values. It's not necessarily what they believe, but more and more as I see it, it's the fact that they have values and that they don't blame people. Those are like two of the, I don't know if they're correlates or side effects or somehow,
Starting point is 00:05:24 I don't know which comes first, the chicken or the egg, but there's some sort of synergy. Because the left really wants to blame everyone for everything, you know. And as you start becoming more capable yourself, you do way less blaming. It's not your go-to, right? And so, between being a small business owner and realizing that it falls on you and blaming isn't going to get you anywhere, so maybe those are the affiliates. And then just the fact that you work out and you become more capable.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It's a great question. Let's ask Greg. Yo. Good morning. Morning. Are you drinking a hot drink? No. Oh, I saw you. Oh, OK. Is it a hot drink cup? Yeah. Or is it hot and cold? Oh, OK. Yeah. Nice cup.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Yeah, or is it hot and cold? Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice cut. Hey, Clive just asked this great question. Well, at least I like it. I think there's a lot of meat on the bone. Let me see. Where is that? There it is. Oh. Is the whole American CrossFit community predominantly conservative or just your show and fans? Am I right? The general population are a lot more evenly split?
Starting point is 00:06:56 And I was just, as you become more and more capable as a human, you blame less and less. As you realize you're capable of more and more and that blaming is just it's not productive. And so just the fitness crowd in general, the accountability, personal responsibility crowd, the people who look into fitness, they see the corruption in those areas of health that they start leaning more and more conservative. Any thoughts on it? Is that just wishful thinking on my part? No, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:33 The hard part about calling this election is trying to figure out whether the percentage of the population is truly stupid is 47% or 53. Honestly, I don't know. The issues are kind of straightforward. Right. Has Greg been crying? No, he must've sneezed or something.
Starting point is 00:07:57 It's too early for you to cry. Yeah, I got some allergies going here today. Yeah, Greg lives in a forest. And when I mean a forest, I mean like every kind of plant and tree and he has a full-time gardener at this place. It's like a, it could be a botanical garden. His California home, it's wild.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Are plants seeding right now? Is it that time of year they're doing their thing? Yeah. Yeah. Right. When like summer's over kick out the seeds, leaves are starting to drop a little bit or turn brown. Paul and flying around. Yeah. You're here in Santa Cruz, I think. The other day I walked into your house. You were on the phone in the hallway and I was in your kitchen and the windows were open. I'm like, Greg, there's a swarm of bees outside your window. And I'm frantically closing the windows. Did you ever find out the origin of that swarm of bees?
Starting point is 00:08:55 Was it your hive splitting or something? Yeah, I do not know. Oh, that was wild. Yeah, that was wild. Or wreaking havoc on the bees. Yeah, that was like......reaking havoc on the bees. Bees swarming for something to scare the shit out of me. They're all flying all erratic and shit. They probably shouldn't. They're probably on their own mission. Didn't these rats swar on the road here when Jeff Ball and his bees appeared? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:25 They were I don't know if they were swarmed, but it was during a busy, busy they were going back and forth across the road and like they look like ants, but they were bees flying and you could see them everywhere. Someone called me on FaceTime Audio already. So what's going on here? Hold on, hold on, caller, hold on. You're jumping in early this morning. Hey, are you there?
Starting point is 00:09:49 I might not be able to do FaceTime audio. Yeah we can. Come on. Oh yeah, you're right. There you are. There it is. There it is. Calling as a liberal for Trump and I'm just wondering, as a liberal, is it okay for me not to support war,
Starting point is 00:10:07 not to want a liberal that wants to control our borders, that wants lower inflation, that doesn't like big pharma, that doesn't like far, I feel like I, it feels so strange that I don't like Trump, but of course, everything stands for I like. Is it okay for a liberal to vote for Trump? Are you a liberal, Savan?
Starting point is 00:10:33 Um, I, uh, I catch, I have, I have liberal tendencies cause I was raised that way for like, um, you know, for 40 years. And then I met Greg and I I started and I got immersed in the CrossFit community. When I was hired at CrossFit, it was just me, this dirty liberal hippie, and Greg and a bunch of seals running the company. And then all I and I in all my and you know, I hated the military and I hated the cops and I started to get to know these people and then I started working out. And then Greg gave me this book by David Boaz. And so a part of me wants to say I switched completely to becoming a libertarian. But then recently,
Starting point is 00:11:14 just yesterday, I heard Bill Clinton talking about the border. And it sounds he sounds exactly like Trump. We need to close the border. They're taking our jobs. I'm adding people to the border to close the border. They're taking our jobs. I'm adding people to the border to close the border. So I don't know. Sometimes I get confused. I don't know if I changed or if the parties flipped. But I was brought up to, you know, love the environment. And I think I was confused on what that meant.
Starting point is 00:11:43 And I think the things that being a liberal taught me were used to manipulate me rather than actually keep me focused on the cause Right growing up democrats didn't want war and now all my democratic friends are supporting the war and they have ucane flags It doesn't make sense to me and just real quick before I jump off What polls are accurate does greg know what poll I could go to to to to see if any are accurate? I'm just curious what he looks at for polling to see who's actually winning this race, if they're even accurate. Yeah, I go all the way that I would trust. And they've been off each of the last big election cycles. I really can't tell. I also, I don't know what the capacity is for dirty play either. I don't know how much of that can be, can be added. What about the Vegas? What about the Vegas odds?
Starting point is 00:12:35 Those seem like those would be, those guys aren't going to. What are they? They got Trump winning, I think. Yeah. 53 to 47 right now. Right. They got Trump winning, I think. Yeah. 53 to 47 right now. Right. Yeah. It's amazing how there seems to be a shortage of people that understand that you could vote for a man that you don't personally like whose company you wouldn't enjoy. A person that you think has kind of obvious character flaws,
Starting point is 00:13:11 maybe isn't the most virtuous of men, but you could still have a reason to vote for them and that you thought that was a better option for the country. Right. Well, so that's interesting. That takes us back to the values. One of the dumb things I used to say as a liberal, and I can't believe I'm going to say it on the show, I used to say, hey, if I were, if I wouldn't want my kids around Trump, I would much rather have them hang out at the Clinton's house. And it's funny how much there are with the Obamas.
Starting point is 00:13:46 And it's funny how much that's flipped. I wouldn't want my kids around the Clintons or the Obamas at all. And I bet you Donald Trump's an amazing grandfather. Just a world class, just the way I see him with his grandkids and how cool he is and how loving he is and the attention he gives them. It's funny how it flipped. I think that we have a couple of generations here that have been raised in unprecedented luxury and comfort, security and comfort, financial security, physical security, and this generation,
Starting point is 00:14:34 several of them are so removed from the way the world, the rest of the world lives and the way things are. And it seems to me that a society, again, several generations of comfort and unprecedented luxury and security, I think those people won't be comfortable with the people that have the means to protect them. have the means to protect them. Meaning like the world economic forum type of lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:15:16 They have the means to protect them, but it's small cities. You'll have nothing and you'll love it. No, no, no. My liberal friends are never going to be comfortable in the company of men that have the Intestinal fortitude gum strength to kill to protect them, right? Right, yeah, that's a problem Hey, that's the that's the the the maximum that works nice with the we want a society that has maximum tolerance and inside of that, of course, we're gonna have to accept people who have the maximum intolerance and they don't want, they don't want to know how they got, they don't, they don't have the tolerance to know how they got what they have or how to maintain it.
Starting point is 00:15:59 I think, I think, oh, I think the average liberal would find themselves, their entire sense of the world's order upended if they had to put on the badge and gun for a week. Yeah, yeah. Every day there'd be revelations that were just life altering. The dog eating thing was fascinating to me because I have been, I filmed in three famines and three different continents.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I've been in at least 60 of the absolutely poorest spots in the world. And when I mean poor I mean like You know like I see I would see kids and the next day I wouldn't know if they were gonna be alive and flies on their face And I didn't visit these places for an hour I stayed for weeks and I've traveled all over Africa India China all over Central and South America making documentaries on malnourished children I spent two years in my life just non-stop doing that and People will eat anything.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I saw people eating just absolutely anything. And all over Africa, I saw all over Africa, hundreds of times, I saw boys selling mice on a stick. And all sorts of animals that I had never seen before, snakes, lizards, people will eat anything in times. There was a famous photo, I don't know if you remember it greg but it was from uh ethiopia and it showed that in the famine they were drinking urine out of the back of cows when they would pee these emaciated cows and then they were collecting ants on a stick and the kids were eating the ants do you remember those photos yeah and then there
Starting point is 00:17:41 was that really famous photo of the volt that that the guy the photo journalists who took this photo actually ended Up killing himself because of this photo He said it was too much for him. He was at a famine and he took a photo of a child And there were vultures all around him waiting for him to take his last breath so they could eat him Do you remember that famous photo? They kind of do and it's and so when when we This goes to what you're saying about people not having any clue what's happening outside the United States like zero clue
Starting point is 00:18:11 And in the in the in the time I spent homeless in Santa Barbara I was eating like a champ out of dumpsters You know what? I mean, just the most amazing wrap food thrown away every single morning Just go behind a fancy restaurant or a fancy deli and there's just you know what I mean all the great food I had Amy West on the show. I think it was Amy West. No, maybe wasn't Amy West I can't remember who was but I had a physician on the show when I first started the show and she was in the Northeast and one of her patients was this homeless guy and he had type 2 diabetes and they said they were gonna have to amputate his foot and He's like what can I do? I don't want to lose my foot and they said they were going to have to amputate his foot. And he's like, what can I do?
Starting point is 00:18:45 I don't want to lose my foot. And she said, where do you eat? And he said, I eat out of this dumpster behind a Chinese food place. And she said, OK, all I want you to do is eat the green stuff and the meat. And in three months, he reversed his type 2 diabetes, eating out of a dumpster. Wild story, right? Yeah. But yeah, America doesn't want to... Americans are so protected, so oblivious to what's going
Starting point is 00:19:16 on in the outside and what the reality is for most of the world. This is a great clip. I love this clip. It's an oldie, but it's great. It fits perfect here. Equal, if the men are the ones that have to fight and die to defend the country, the men are the ones that build and maintain all the infrastructure, right? None of this stuff in the studio is built or maintained by women. Do you know that 90% of infrastructure jobs are still held by men and that if you look at the top 20 jobs held by women now in 2024 versus 1924 are almost the exact same. So women have had 100 years to do
Starting point is 00:19:53 whatever they want and they still do the same 20 jobs they did 100 years ago other than we switched out farm labor for HR work. But other than that we're secretaries, nurses, daycare ladies, early childhood education, administrative assistants, retail workers, all the same shit that we were a century ago. So if the men are the ones tasked with every time there's a natural disaster, they have to go out and rescue people from the fires and the floodwaters. And every time there's a war, the men have to go and fight it and defend the country. And anytime there's a criminal who needs to be violently arrested, it's going to be a man who goes and does that, not a woman.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Where does the equality come in? If we're doing the fluffy jobs, we're all singers. We have a lot of singers and musicians, which is cool. It's great. I love music too. But y'all ain't rescuing people and doing the heavy lifting or the dirty or the dangerous jobs. Who collects the trash? Men. Who does all the steel working and oil rig work and all of the sewer cleaning?
Starting point is 00:20:53 How are you equal if the m- And this should be offensive to no one. It's just the way it is. And no one wants to see their mom on an oil rig. Nobody. And women should not be allowed in HR. They got the HR jobs. They do. That's a slam right there. I remember the company was growing very fast and one of the bizarre things about CrossFit
Starting point is 00:21:31 Inc. is we didn't have an HR department. And I would hear, I would be in the conversations where you and Mulvaney would be talking about it and you guys would just be hating on HR and you're like, hey dude, the second we get a hall monitor, we're going to have dude, the second we get a hall monitor, we're going to have problems or the second that we have someone that people can go and tattle to, we're going to have problems. And if we don't have someone to tattle to, we're not going to have problems. And I was like, this is crazy. I can't believe Greg and Brian are talking like
Starting point is 00:21:59 this. Like if we're a company, of course we have to have an HR department. And you couldn't have been more right. All of a sudden, all these fucking bullshit problems started popping up. It was nuts. We get an HR gal and we put her in with the accountants, with the grownups, two of the senior most by age people in the company, both older than I am. We put it in a very sober and serious environment. The next thing you know, the two accountants that have known each other
Starting point is 00:22:38 forever are at each other's throats, and they're actually both bringing guns to work for fear that the other one's going to shoot them. are at each other's throats, and they're actually both bringing guns to work for fear that the other one's gonna shoot them. I remember that. So help me God, that's a true fucking story. That's what my HR guy does for me. Turns my peaceful accounting office into the little town of Prescott
Starting point is 00:22:59 into a potential scene of a work shooting. a potential scene of a work shooting. Man. Unbelievable. Utterly, completely fucking worthless. And I remember you saying, I remember you telling the HR lady we had, hey, what I really want you to focus on is just... Be the benefits lady.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Yeah, benefits lady. Just make sure people are getting paid on their six days and we have the best health insurance and the best 401k. I don't want you getting in tiffs on someone has their desk too close to their door, someone's too loud in their office or like it was crazy. Hey, and in our HR person really was like, it really just becomes the office for gossip. It's like where all the gossip is. So and so is on fucking psych meds.
Starting point is 00:24:03 So and so, you know, hug this person too long, so and so is not working and in the gym too long. It just became just a... I mean you nailed it. You fucking nailed it. You put someone in there for other people to tattle to and they're going to use the resource. I never went to HR once. I avoided HR like the plague. You know what, you know one of the things that they said, did we have files? Do you know if we had HR files
Starting point is 00:24:35 on us as employees? I have no idea but look, when a When a deliberate attempt to sabotage the business was underway by use of a New York Times, I asked the HR lady, call them, tell them who we are and how we operate here. Yeah. To complete truth. Everything you know, call. And she's I don't want to get in the middle of this. I'd never be able to get another job. Oh, that's right. That's right. Later. She's like, I think you hate me. And I'm like, Oh, I'll be can couldn't do it couldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:25:28 I guess it I don't know how it came out. I don't know if I had a file or they spoke to the HR person at CrossFit, but it got back to me that they that someone told Rosa I had stood this was in the couple months that I lasted after you sold the company that there was I had called the HR lady a cunt and That was one of the like that was like one of the there were like three reasons They had to get rid of me and that was one of them and someone's like did you call her a cunt? I'm like, I don't know. I mean I
Starting point is 00:26:01 Possible it's possible It's possible. It's possible. It is. I can't follow that. Right. Right. It's possible. Oh man. What is this? Can someone sponsor Kil Taylor from the UK? Maz, I would love it. CrossFit Spitfire. We need a sponsor for this week. Yes, please. Anyone can sponsor. You could sponsor from the moon, dude
Starting point is 00:26:28 You could sponsor from the moon Is all excess adipa adiposity adiposity Adiposity, what's that fat? Uh is all excess fat driving the replication of inferiority RNA DNA? Or is there some minimum required amount of fat needed to thrive?
Starting point is 00:26:53 Yeah, there's some minimum amount of fat needed to survive. Or to thrive. Yeah, I mean, any Sakamoto up the games to to lean for success a Decade or so ago. I was like, oh no, I remember that we were we were at the kind of that outdoor like farm facility where we had regionals right that Activity isn't the shit of a having an 18 pack. Yeah. 40 years ago, it was perfectly fine for a cholesterol of a 300. Now, has everyone got that? 300. What are you told today if you're 300? Last year in Maryland, I
Starting point is 00:27:41 was talking to a lady in her 70s who was a pathologist. She said, I used to do all the testing on blood cholesterol levels. We considered a cholesterol level of 350 perfectly fine. What are you told today? It can't go over 190, am I right? What do they want you down to? 150? Do you know the fattiest organ in the body is the brain? And cholesterol
Starting point is 00:28:05 is used to protect the brain against chemicals, heavy metals. We've been deceived. And the cholesterol-lowering medication, its side effect is dementia, muscle wasting, Alzheimer's, breast cancer, vitamin D deficiency because our sex hormones are made from cholesterol and if we don't have enough vitamin D we can't get the minerals into our bones to have strong bones so what do we got now osteoporosis it's all about precision balance we need that cholesterol. Framingham Heart Study has been going for 40 years set up to prove that cholesterol causes heart disease still hasn't 40 years later. But you know what it did show? People with high cholesterol levels don't get Alzheimer's. Now,
Starting point is 00:28:51 do you need a moment's silence to digest that one? 40. I guess you need some fat. Yeah, I just have to mention Ufi Ravenskov again. There's no need to have discussion on the subject past that, I feel. He came and spoke at the office, right? No, but we had him a conference called in at the CrossFit Health event at the Games. He was kind enough to join us via a video-like link. Did he pass? No. Okay. I mean, I should, saying that I should look, you know? Right.
Starting point is 00:29:40 But his book, Cholesterol Myths, is absolutely amazing. That used to be, you had stacks of that one around the office. It's such an important work. The race for the White House is nearing the finish line, with Election Day less than a month away, and both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have been vigorously campaigning across America. Since 35 of the 50 states have voted for the same political party from 2000 to 2020, the winner of the election is almost always decided by a handful of battleground states, and in
Starting point is 00:30:17 2024 it's not likely to be any different. This year's election is likely to hinge on seven swing states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, and North Carolina. Can either candidate sweep all of them this year? According to the bets made on the online betting platform PolyMarket, partly funded by early Trump backer Peter Thiel, Trump has a 26% chance of winning each of these swing states at the time this article was written. Harris was given a 14% chance of winning each of these swing states at the time this article was written. Harris was given a 14% chance of winning by wagers on the platform. However, this did not include North Carolina,
Starting point is 00:30:51 which was separately given a 63% chance of voting Republican overall. So I guess the betting odds are determined by who's making the bets. But according to aggregates by bookmakers review, betting odds have accurately predicted 77% of the expected candidates winning over the last 35 years. Odds makers predicted Obama's win in 2012
Starting point is 00:31:15 and George Bush in 2000, although in 2016, both pollsters and betting markets fail to anticipate Donald Trump's victory. Betting markets have evolved into a reasonably accurate predictors of election even more than some polls, but they're far from foolproof. Often we see wild and unreasonable swings in these markets based on small events that appear to reflect a shift in momentum but likely are just ways. So I basically Vegas has Vegas got Trump ahead. But I guess that's really just polling people who bet money betters right? That would be a way to say it. Sure. Just looking where the cash is. Right. So people who have a tendency to bet money in Vegas
Starting point is 00:32:05 think Trump's going to win. So. Harvest CrossFit, cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease and statins aren't the answer. Another great read. Yeah, we had stacks of that book, I think, around the office too that's the uh the book that became lipid lunacy in the next iteration
Starting point is 00:32:47 Andrew Hiller Trump already won oh all right well then I'll go to bed early on November 5th. Thank you, Andrew. You know, Mike, I've not, I've never been a fan of Donald Trump's, still not. But, uh, there's a part of me that, uh, takes a delight in, in how much he offends and bothers the left. I feel they deserve them. Go on. That's all. They deserve them in what way? Just like they've been naughty, so here take this.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Like it's like a punishment for them. When you come to learn that Hollywood's almost entirely for the Dems, what does that make you feel about Hollywood? I mean me personally, I mean, there's a lot I'm making a lot of presuppositions, but it makes me hate them. Makes me not want to support them at all. Yeah, that's how I feel. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Someone asked me, do you not listen to artists who support who go against your ideological beliefs? And yeah, like I'm so sad about Neil Young. I love Neil Young. I would listen to just Harvest Moon over and over and over but the stuff he said about people who didn't want to get the vaccine was so vicious and nasty that it just made it impossible for me to like him and to believe any of the words that came out of his mouth and music. I don't remember which band it was. Was it Rage Against the Machine or whoever those guys were that posed naked on their album cover? Those guys were just hating on
Starting point is 00:34:31 ... It's not that they were pro-vax, they were hating on people who could think for themselves and didn't want to take it and just undermined everything that I thought they stood for. Because I thought they actually stood for something. I didn't think that they, I thought that they were making their music to like get out their beliefs. I heard something really, you know, it's gonna show how immature I am in thought,
Starting point is 00:34:56 but this rapper, French Montana, was being interviewed the other day. And he said, the best thing about meeting Diddy and working with Diddy is he taught me how to be rich without having to make music and I just made the assumption that all these rappers were so passionate about music and rapping that they didn't care whether they were really rich or poor and they just wanted to make music and that wasn't it. They, he basically just said hey all I care about is money and not even, it's not even the art. And I was just like, how naive I am.
Starting point is 00:35:31 It seems like a really stupid way to try to get rich. Oh yeah, that's a hard way to do it. And then another thing that I kind of had my eyes open to recently is like, if you start, like I just thought the lyrics were all fun and games and rap songs and rock and roll songs, but more and more it's like, you know, when you're going to go write a script in Hollywood and you want to get into script writing people, you'll ask someone, hey, what should I write about? And they'll be like, hey, write about what you know. Just write about what you know, write about what you know. Stay in your lane and tell the story that you know, make a script out of it. And you listen to these lyrics and these songs and you're like, holy shit, this shit is their real life.
Starting point is 00:36:13 This is disgusting. Like it's not a joke to them that women are bitches and hoes and cum rags. Like that's their preferred woman. cum rags, like that's their preferred woman. And yeah, it's a, growing up is weird. Eric Brandt, coach, your thoughts on RFK and Trump on health crisis. Make America healthy again. Yeah. I'm Yeah, I'm an RFK fan.
Starting point is 00:36:49 He's, I like the guy. I've had interaction with him on a handful of occasions over the years and he's been kind and gracious to me. So me. So this gives me a little bit of a bias, but he's a kindred soul. His Fauci book is just absolutely amazing. It's, I can't believe that that didn't get more traction. that that didn't get more traction. He was speaking on so many issues that no one else was talking about. He's, I think, Israel's most able defender. He's got concerns about the deficit that no one else seems to express. We're actually watching him politically mature, which is pretty cool too. You don't see that hardly ever, right? 863 reviews
Starting point is 00:38:09 With all five stars colored in with a 4.8 star Rating I don't think I've ever seen that Over 1 million copies sold despite censorship the real Anthony Fauci. I just listened to this book recently Driving to Newport and back, and I cannot. It is- You said you could get through the whole thing? Yeah, I did. It's relentless. It's terrifying.
Starting point is 00:38:34 I only got about a third of the way through it. It's the same thing over, it's just more and more of that. Yeah, I didn't need to, like he wasn't, thought he was gonna get any cleaner or any dirtier by page 50, you know? Yeah, it is so, it is so unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:38:53 If it weren't true, it makes Fauci look like a war criminal. Yeah. You wouldn't be, if it weren't true, you wouldn't survive the litigation. Right. If it weren't true, you wouldn't survive the litigation. Right. And there's notes all over the book. I mean, the places he gets his information,
Starting point is 00:39:12 it's cited all over the book. I mean, it's... It read to me like a grand jury indictment. And I had to go back and kind of check out R.F.K. Jr.'s legal career to see. But indeed he had that training. Because he does. It reads just like a grand jury indictment.
Starting point is 00:39:34 The fact that there's people who work for the government who get payouts for the rest of their life and even after they die, their families get payouts based on the sale of the drugs is mind boggling to me. Huge payouts. I'm still tripping, man. I know people that are sorting through their corn flakes looking for the genetically modified flakes that stand in line to get their own RNA modernized. to get their own RNA modernized. Yeah. I just, I did just the, I mean, when I heard that Moderna stood for modernizing RNA, I was like, that's, that's like some creepy movie shit right there.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Who wants their, who wants their RNA modernized? Right. And by who? You gotta be fucking kidding me. Harvest CrossFit, that's how I felt about the games after the black box crew did their thing, was a huge fan, it's been a stretch getting back into it. I feel you. What was that? I don't get it. Just meaning I don't know what started this, but my takeaway from this is like, because I'm going through it now with the whole PFA thing. It's like, hey, you're you're you're part of the family.
Starting point is 00:40:56 You have this delusion that the cross the community is all when one big loving family and here, Greg post that thing Floyd 19 and a small cohort of fucking assholes fucking comes after you with a misinterpretation of it somehow claiming it was racist when if anything was only racist in nature that you were concerned about the black community getting duped the same way the whole population had been due by the pandemic. And they started saying, I'm out. When instead, they should have been like, fuck you to the world. We stand with CrossFit. We stand with what this thing has given us and how it's a great movement for all people.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Wasn't that wasn't that. Rob Wolf and I don't I don't. Oh, no, no, he did. Did no, that that was so he could write a book that was the original black box crew that was the that was the thing where Tony and Dave got into it with the OPT and I think Rob Wolf I think that was the original black box but I think I think what Harvest is talking about is when the games athletes started post saying I'm out that basically that if
Starting point is 00:42:04 you if you didn't step away from the company that they weren't going to Compete anymore and the response should have been like One their response should have been the opposite and to the everyone else should have been like good fuck you don't let the door hit you on the way out and He's saying that yeah, once you see these fucks aren't really part of the community, they're just fucking parasites on the community. It's hard to ever get back into it. That's my take on what they're saying. And I totally, I totally get it. was that we had a community of people that came over time to understand that the globally
Starting point is 00:42:51 accepted parameterization of health, the metrics that are used to define your health, are not independent variables that can be manipulated to create a healthy person. They're dependent variables of some lifestyle choices. And so the strength of that off the carbs, off the couch, the pot breadth of positive benefits to the approach was really exciting. And we've got all of that at Metfix. And not likely to see the... You won't have to suffer fools the same way, I believe. I mean, we're going to have instant problems with registered dietitians and that kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:43:54 That's already going on. But that's the battle we want. I think, you know, if registered dietitians were all to hang themselves tonight, the world would be healthier in a few years. Because of the bullshit they took us through with the low dietary fat nonsense, the cholesterol nonsense, the statin nonsense. And anyone who's spoken up about it has been punished. Zoe Harcom, Malcolm Kendrick, Gary Fetke, Tim Noakes. All pulled off of Wiki? Well, no, they tried to take their medical life.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Several folks, Fetke, Noakes. Forget the pediatrician's name from Sweden. Interesting too, these people all won their cases. But I had Russ Green explain to me and had another physician tell me that they learned everyone learned their lesson from the example made of the person even though they did win their case. That's what happened to the three guys who were there with show van. The three cops they saw what show van went through when they've been interviewed since now they're starting to get out of jail. They're like, they saw what Chauvin went through.
Starting point is 00:45:25 When they've been interviewed since now, they're starting to get out of jail. They're like, hey, why didn't you fight it? They're like, we couldn't go through what Chauvin went through. So we just took the three or four years in jail. Cop had been on the job one day. I think it was a black cop, been on the job one day day graduated highest in his class anyone had ever graduated in 40 years And he's like yeah, I just did the jail time. It was gonna be too crazy to fight that case So sad it's so fucking sad can you fucking believe they stabbed Chauvin 22 times in jail he fucking lived
Starting point is 00:46:03 van 22 times in jail and fucking lived. It's nuts. Hey, there's this guy who has this radio show in Los Angeles called The Breakfast Club, I think. And he's this he's this he calls himself Charlemagne, the god. And yeah, he kind of looks like he's going through transition. He's, it's weird. He's like slowly turning more and more feminine. And, um, he interviewed, uh, Kamala Harris yesterday and it was fucking nuts. The fucking lies she tells you, you remember, do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:46:42 Um, she was saying that he's going to get rid of the constitution his first day in office She said that he said that if he's not fucking elected there's going to be a bloodbath Do you know about the bloodbath line? Yeah, I did and how it was in reference to the car market. Yeah, automobile industry Yeah Yeah, she just takes that at context completely out of context completely out of context. It is, it is, and he doesn't call her on any of it. It was fucking nuts. It made me so fucking sad that there's people in this country who believe that shit.
Starting point is 00:47:13 The left wants to do away with the First Amendment to protect democracy. She said that January 6 was a legitimate attempt to overthrow the US government. Go ahead, believe it. Says the party that chased Joe Biden out of office. Right. Hey, do you think we'll ever know what they said to him? I think it's very plausible that they said something to him like, hey dude, if you, I think it's two-part. If you don't step down, we're gonna reveal that we're gonna bring up this case where you diddle this chick. And then also if you do step down, we'll make sure that Hunter gets a job somewhere that pays $300,000 a year.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Like I think it was literally a transaction like that. Do you believe that? You suspect something like that? No, my line was that they told him that the big donors weren't going to be there. He wasn't going to have the money to run a campaign. OK, so I have a feeling that they somehow... He was done financially. Okay. So they weren't going to get, it wasn't like they were going to give him a retire.
Starting point is 00:48:51 You don't think that there was some retirement clause in there? No, you're not going to, you're not going to win and you, and you're going to lose the ability to protect Hunter. I think he wants her to lose now. I do too. You do think you do agree with that. Yeah, that thing the other day was pretty funny. Where he went to did his first press conference in the press room ever as president at the same time she was going live.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Yeah. That was crazy. Yeah, his legacy needs, needs her to lose. Then they can then they'll be sorry they pulled him out. And he gets to be the only person that could have Jake Chapman, does Greg like deficit deadlifts? What's a deficit deadlift? You stand on something that's like an inch off the ground or two inches. So it's beyond your normal range. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I don't, I don't think, uh, what's the obligation to what is it? What's the bar sit off the ground on a 45 pound plate? What is that? That's
Starting point is 00:50:15 a good question. I don't know that. Nine inches. Oh, chase. That's a great question for Jeopardy. For your CrossFit Jeopardy show. That's a great question. How many is it? Someone will, someone will say, boy, I've never heard that question asked or answered anywhere. Teresa, it hurts my back every time I use lighter weight. 8.5 inches, Augustus Link. That was my guess.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Yeah. God, there's there's a whole series of trivia questions that would be fun to ask about that. Like the proper width of a, I don't know, a pull up bar between uprights or I don't know. I've twice been the jeopardy question or answer. Oh, you mean on real with the jeb with Alex drew back jeopardy. Wow. Serious. That's awesome. Yeah. That's my claim to thing. In this fast paced world, staying sharp and focused is a non-negotiable. Or any of them fun, like the CEO with the what CEO with the the largest penis or anything like that. And it's like, what is Greg? Who is Greg Glassman? Anything fun like that? Nothing like that. Nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Hey, why not? So you and I had talked about this. You know, I'm a huge proponent of it. Why not just start? Why not? Why not have Metfix just start the exact same blog that you started with CrossFit, yellow and white, picture of a Pukey, now it could be a DOG, and post a workout every single day and leave a column open for affiliates and a column open for seminars and just start rolling and see what happens. Like, you know what I mean? You just go every single day and move into the space. I mean, that's the question everyone's been wanting to ask you for two months.
Starting point is 00:54:55 Why not just do that and just let it grow organically? I mean, I know that you... I know the story of how CrossFit started is you're in the gym and the phone rings and you answer it and someone's like we do seminar and you're like no and then they're like well we're sending guys from fucking the DOJ or ATF or wherever they came from and you're like fuck they'll have a check and you came and fucking almost killed them in three days why not just do that you have nothing you have nothing to lose, right? Yeah, I've kind of moved on from the exercise side of the house. I think that work's been done and it stands intact with the affiliates. What I'd like to do, I think what Metfix is going to do is layer on that piece that CrossFit's in abdication of.
Starting point is 00:55:48 No one's going to, no one from CrossFit is going to make animated series explaining how sugar causes a glycation of the mitochondria that is a part of a metabolic degradation of the bioenergetics of the cell that leads to cancer, obesity. No one's going to do that at CrossFit. I agree, I agree, but your army enjoys moving every single day. And as well they should, but I think what you need to be talking to clientele about, I mean, the fitness part's easy. It's easy to do. People will come and work out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:39 You know, I remember every trainer has the experience of people who will do the exercise exercise but not cooperate with the diet. And then you learn to develop the skills and persuasive powers sufficient to get a larger group of people supporting their efforts with the dietary recommendations, right? Reducing the carb load. And so you know what happens when they will eat, right? You know what happens when they don't. But I had an interesting experience in the mid 90s hanging with Barry Sears and that we got to put people on a diet that weren't exercising.
Starting point is 00:57:24 And that was brand new to me 25 years a trainer, but I'd never had anyone that wasn't working out but was Eating better and the results were were Wildly similar much to my to my shock. I Was seeing increases in in in, lean body mass, strength increases from people that didn't exercise. I think it was just mind boggling. And still, the best improvements you could make, I think, in your gym would be for your clients would be doubling down on what we know to be true about metabolic derangement. I want to teach people about glycation, covalently bonding a sugar to a protein, amino acid,
Starting point is 00:58:21 or a fat, and the consequences of that. And that feels like God's work to me. It's a very limited group of people that got the balls to speak out about sugar. I hear you. I'm going back to the mundane part, the superficial part. You know that model works. You know it would attract people to that space. And some people need to be nurtured or brought along slowly. So why not bring them there with Cindy on Monday, and then on Tuesday, there's an article about what you would like to share with them that's that you found to be even more relevant.
Starting point is 00:59:10 And then on how I roll. What did you say? It's not how you roll. It is how I roll. I mean that's kind of what we did. I always had yeah. Yeah, right. And so so I mean dot-com was already like that, but it was but it had honey there the honey being the workouts In order to bring those people in I mean for me nutrition became more important because I was already moving I saw the relevance of it Anyway, I would love to see I would love to see you start that exact blog up again, a place for you to weigh in on all sorts of things. I don't see that there's any rush to put on affiliates or do seminars, but I just think
Starting point is 00:59:54 it's so vital for you to have a, I mean, because you send me articles every single day, every single day, on average, I get something from you. Some days it's three, some days I don't get something for two, but it's like like the Michael Crichton thing you sent me yesterday And all those things and links could all live in a place That just has a little you know a little workout and and and then so people know what you're thinking and then Bam all this and it does stuff deal with Twitter account, huh? Yeah all that. All of that. Matt Burns, Greg has 200 million reasons why he doesn't need to ease into them.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Here's the thing though. He's never going to retire. He's just going. If you go to Greg's house, one minute we're in the backyard shooting BB guns, and then he's handing you three pieces of paper stapled together while we're in his backyard shooting BB guns. And he's like, read this.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Look at this. Look what Popper said here. Look what Stove said here. It's just going. It's just like one minute we're shooting flies on his wall with a salt gun while we're all. He's also trying to explain to me some fallacy and in fucking there's no there's no break he's not i'm not retired for me um CrossFit was just a waypoint in this journey that i'm on now and it would
Starting point is 01:01:28 journey that I'm on now. And it led me to was a front row seat to see the shortcomings of academic science. And I'm in love with that space philosophically now. I love talking about the replication crisis. And I think it's more important than ever before to teach people what science is. And the most important facet of that is perhaps to learn what science isn't. And I think in two days I can make that happen in a prof, I think I can do it so that it's entertaining, accessible and profound.
Starting point is 01:02:02 That's the goal. And I think I'm there. I think I'm gonna. I think I'm going to be ready in January. But that seems like a huge public service to me. And I don't know how it's different than say like an L5. You know what the affiliates are a compensatory reality to the failings of public health. I remember someone from outside my magazine says, Greg just thinks for health people just need more CrossFit. And as I keep talking to him, I mean, that's what I'm trying to explain. That people need to get off the carbs and off the couch because it's killing them.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Sedenturism and excessive carbohydrate intake. Well, here's the other thing too, that I wonder how they would explain it now. They didn't, people don't realize that you are that musician who just wants to keep creating music and the byproduct of success or money or concerts came afterwards. Like here you are, you're still doing it and you're not monetizing it. And I guess that's what that's one, one you're not monetizing it, but two, you're also not drawing as many people to it as I think you could, putting a little honey on there, meaning the workouts or having a fun old blog or, you know, I mean, hearing your thoughts on other things too.
Starting point is 01:03:44 or having a fun old blog or you know what I mean hearing your thoughts on other things too you know what I mean yeah that's why I come on here I mean like the other day uh you told me I mean you have a very infectious way of your your thoughts are very infectious uh two weeks ago you told me about a dog called the Pyrenees doodle and my current dog is a bore bull and it's the greatest dog I've ever fucking had I can't even believe it's a real dog I can't believe the service it offers my family and when you took when you told me about it You're like, hey, dude This will provide this dog provides real service and you told me about the distinction between it and other dogs And and now you've got me focused for two weeks on I want to pure doodle so fucking bad
Starting point is 01:04:21 I look at the websites every day. They're cool Yeah, and I just think that um I just think you have that ability and uh, I I can't wait. I I don't think it's when You need a blog or a corner tell her Yeah I mean, I it should look I feel like it should look just like the old one. Oh look greg's back I feel like it should look just like the old one. Oh look Greg's back Just that yellow one what the fucking but you don't even have to put anything on it except the middle you can leave affiliates And seminars blank, but just leave it up. Just have it there
Starting point is 01:04:54 Greg is there any issue with a lower a1c? I Had a client whose doctor told him that if his a1c was too low, it was a problem? You know, I don't know. It's one of those things if you, if someone told me I'm not going to do any lab work at all. I'm just going to eat properly. In fact, we know we have a physician friend. She's done exactly that. She's not glycation. I don't believe there would be a problem, but someone else would have to weigh in. Seve, ask Greg about the sugar versus calories discussion
Starting point is 01:06:01 Hiller had with Nutrition Guy. I didn't follow that closely, that. So I can't ask him because I couldn't give him the footnotes on that. I interviewed and basically wind him up and let him go. It was the easiest interview ever. But we got lectured to by Scott Connolly of Metrex years ago in Orange County in a hotel room and I thought his handling of the of the calorie thing was brilliant and I would refer someone to go back to that. Is that video still on the internet somewhere? Isn't that interesting? Did the mothership take it down?
Starting point is 01:06:50 I think I was there for that. Tony was there too, right? Yes, exactly right. And Jimmy Ledgeford. Scott Connelly and Greg Glassman. Does it come up? Uh, what was the spell is? I put Scott Hanley, Scott.
Starting point is 01:07:10 What's his last name? Connelly C O N N O L Y something like that. Oh, Scott Connelly, Greg Glassman, uh, videos, insulin body weight and energy. Yeah. Part one. Yeah. Yep. I was here for this. Yeah, it's still on the, it's still up.
Starting point is 01:07:31 There's a wealth of information there. But I think he quite- Is obviously involved in this. This guy? Yeah. That dude's fucking sharp Insulin body weight in any energy production 14 years ago. No, oh eight years ago. No, this is that man. This was filmed way before eight years ago. Yes Yes
Starting point is 01:08:07 You don't have a date on it It says eight it says eight years ago April 4th 2010, but I have a feeling it was That's 14 years ago. Oh, okay. Oh, right. Okay. Sorry. It says originally published in CrossFit Journal April 4th, 2010 Okay, that sounds about right. Yeah So then it was republished in 2016. I highly recommend that. And it looks like there's a couple parts. Man, I just barely got him going. I think he missed out on the, you know, it would be nice to have him read cancer as a
Starting point is 01:08:53 metabolic disease and see what he had to say about that. Was he arrested for something? Did he get in trouble of some sort? I don't know. It's on TikTok and I don't do TikTok so I don't want to click the link. No I think it's a different Scott Connelly. Sorry Scott for dragging your name into that. Greg, do you have an opinion on Alulose?
Starting point is 01:09:33 The sugar. Yeah, this guy's brought a bunch of that over here and I can't get rid of it. The bars, I try to use as many as I can every time I'm at your house. And the tubs of stuff. Yeah. I try to use many as I can every time I'm in the tubs of stuff. Yeah
Starting point is 01:09:54 Hi Greg Susie tell I just recently was accepted into the Medical Society. I'm so pumped I have a call with Kahn today here to make a change as CrossFit trainer at a 16 year affiliate CrossFit Avalanche. Oh Wow Hi Susie and say hi to the Avalanche crew for me. We would run into them occasionally like we did at Family Cycling. Remember that, Sebi? Yeah, yep. What's the guy's name who owns that? I forget his name. He's cool as shit. I can't believe I forget his name. Actually, I can't believe it. Yeah, I forget too. Carlos, I went to the doctor yesterday to ask for an MRI for my shoulder.
Starting point is 01:10:34 Avi went to the doctor yesterday and got his toe x-rayed. That took six hours. I went to the doctor yesterday to ask for an MRI for my shoulder and he mentioned that in my last yearly checkup he saw something abnormal in my heart, scared the shit out of me. And the problem was that my resting heart rate is really low. He made me do more testing until he came to the conclusion I just have an athletic resting heart rate. Thanks to CrossFit and Greg. fitting Greg? The key thing there is what, no, where is it? Go back to that, to the means thing. This? Oh, Ethan Oler, I may be late to this, but what's Greg's opinion on what Dr. Casey means is sharing in regards to highly processed foods and pharma?
Starting point is 01:11:26 I like the question, and here's my concern. And this isn't to single out Dr. Means, but I've got a short window where you're going to mention something about sugar or glycation, fructose, uric acid production, unregulated production of AMP, something. I want to hear that you recognize the deleterious nature of sugar, its toxicity. And the more you go on about highly processed foods, microplastics, genetically modified organisms, pesticides, it's great. I'm still not hearing the problem. We don't know what those other things entail because everyone's blood sugar is so high. So you think it's a distraction? I do.
Starting point is 01:12:39 Yeah, I've said before on the show that Coke will pay you to talk about everything but sugar. Highly processed foods. So we're seeing from sugar. When we were in that 44th congressional district, what was it, 60% of the female population over 60 is diabetic? That was down in Carson? Yeah, that's what needs to be talked about not highly processed foods not cedars not microplastics There's a question for me fuck I'm tired Oh
Starting point is 01:13:43 Janelle it's because you have four kids and you're hot as fuck and your husband won't dismount you. So that's your problem. Okay. Lock the door to your bedroom and get some time away from all those kids and your husband before you end up with a fifth. Do you know her? I just know her from the show. I know she's hot from the picture. I know she has a bunch of kids. I think I mailed her something once and it cost a small fortune because she like lives out in the middle of Alabama or something. Like on a dirt road. I think that's like the road in front of her house.
Starting point is 01:14:18 See that cake. I don't know if you can see it, but see how it's like a gravel road. Yeah, it doesn't look like Alabama though. Oh, wherever. Dirt to a color. Oh, she'll tell us in a second. But I know she got a bunch of kids and I'm pretty sure she homeschools them. She'll say, oh, three kids, Alaska. Well, whatever.
Starting point is 01:14:35 I got the first. I got the first. But you're not fighting back about being hot, I noticed. Notice no pushback there Four kids Alabama and hot three kids Alaska. Yeah, whatever Alaska not Alabama Greg is smart. Oh Whitney Davis. Oh, yeah, maybe I mailed something to Whitney Whitney got a bunch of kids and it's hot too I got all my hot moms all fucking confused. I am hot. No, okay one out of three in bed What am I gonna do? Hey you want to go with me to the bike shop?
Starting point is 01:15:09 Yeah today. Yeah, what time you thinking? I don't know but I got to get those two bikes out of there. Oh They're ready. I thought they had some sort of computer issue. Yeah, they did and they fixed it and I've got to go back. Oh cool Let's go. we'll get breakfast. Okay. What are you gonna, what vehicle do you have to move them? The Hennessey?
Starting point is 01:15:31 I got to take that of them, yeah. I noticed you had both, what do you, this is totally off subject. What do you, are you moving all those vehicles somewhere? I mean, yeah. You got to get them to Scottsdale for the winter? We're doing that Santa Barbara and San Diego thing. The axle part left last night. It's in San Diego, I guess.
Starting point is 01:15:55 You're driving to... Santa Barbara and then to San Diego. Oh, I thought for some reason I thought you were flying. Then I'm going to drive one of those trucks, whichever one I take. I'm going to go to. Scottsdale, Scottsdale. And then I'm coming back up here on the first and the fourth to hang with the Portland kids.
Starting point is 01:16:16 Oh, that's awesome. God, that's I can't believe how fast time is flying. Oh, shit, you're going to be here the night before the election. You'll be here on the fourth. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, I mean, and then I might even have trouble getting out. I might leave after the election or something, but whatever.
Starting point is 01:16:41 You wanna watch it over here? Yeah, if you're there, I kinda wanna do a live watch with the group. That wasn't a cry for attention just to complain. Hey, listen, I also wasn't giving you a real solution. I just wanted to tell you how hot you were. So there, we're even. Lone Star CrossFit, do a deeper dive than just Coke.
Starting point is 01:17:06 Research the Fun Hool brothers regarding the sugar industry. I know of that. And Coke's pretty deep, man. Takes you right to the founding fathers of the CDC. You can do both. Yeah, and it's not just Coke. founding fathers of the CDC. You can do both. Yeah, and it's not just Coke. It's in fact, the monsters, the American Beverage Association, that's the teeth.
Starting point is 01:17:36 And the Coke Pepsi thing, it's kind of a cartel. They don't look to be in any true sense competitors. And we know this from suing Ohio State University and weighing in at other schools on what they call pouring rights. And Big Sugar has all of our major universities all carved up. Someone's got sports drinks,
Starting point is 01:17:59 someone's got vending machines, someone will have the cafeteria. But the amount of Coke and Pepsi at the big universities is really astounding. You still know the exact numbers. It's pretty cool. Do you remember when we went to that pouring rights thing in San Francisco? It was University of San Francisco, right?
Starting point is 01:18:24 Yeah. Hey, I know this wasn't the point of what you're saying, but we went to the University of San Francisco to talk to the chancellor about how bad fucking sugar was for the fucking students at the school or something like that. And obviously we know sugar disproportionately, fuck I hate that word, affects people of color more than fucking white people.
Starting point is 01:18:46 Not because, well one, because of genetic makeups, but two, about how it's LeBron James, their fucking hero, pushes them coke. So Greg's there to fucking talk to people there about that. To the fucking chancellor. And who would benefit the most from that? The fucking, the minority students who their culture, fucking 55% of their calories comes from sugar.
Starting point is 01:19:09 Well, the fucking meeting was hijacked by a bunch of fucking moron minority students who were protesting something like, they didn't like the color of their curtains in their dorm rooms and they weren't as nice as the fucking ones the white kids had. So Greg couldn't fucking talk to the fucking chancellor about something that was real and would impact them and their community because they were fucking concerned about fucking the color of their fucking curtains in their
Starting point is 01:19:30 dorm room. I remember thinking what a kids are so fucked up and they shouted down the whole entire fucking meeting. It was fucking nuts. And none of them will ever know what they did, that they fucked themselves. For real, true, true health benefits. We did manage to get in the way of that contract. They were signing a contract with Pepsi. University of San Francisco? Yeah. And it was tens of millions of dollars, but it included two,
Starting point is 01:20:07 they were gonna get to appoint some chairs as to what was as yet unnamed departments. Which is really, really interesting. So you get a lot for your money. Janelle Winston, my husband did bone me this morning though, so you're right on. Yeah, you get, you trust me. I know you get it a lot.
Starting point is 01:20:28 Unless your husband's gay. Frank Ubach, well, what's your opening on parents having kids and sending them to daycare school? As soon as possible, why have kids? I'm so, I'm so over the top with this. Having kids and sending them to live behind a chain link fence. So, I'm so over the top with this. Having kids and sending them to live behind a chain link fence, why did you even have kids? Like having kids is the greatest fucking gift you can ever have.
Starting point is 01:20:54 It's like someone, I can't remember who said it on the other day, but they love just watching their kids. You, like I sat in the fucking stands with Greg at the jujitsu tournament and we just watched our kids move for fucking eight hours. There's no fucking greater gift. So today, well, a shitload of kids are fucking taking their kids and dropping them off at school and putting them behind a chain link fence. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to get them and I'm going to go to the bike shop with Greg Glassman and they're going to watch Greg and
Starting point is 01:21:20 I fucking fawn over bikes and talk to adults and learn about fucking how the bike operates and technology. And that's what my kids are going to fucking learn today. And they're going to see how real adults interact, they're going to learn stuff about finance by how the business runs, they're going to learn some stuff about components. And it's all just going to happen organically and naturally. When I had Avi, I had him when I lived with Greg. And for the first two years of his life, we traveled every, we never stayed anywhere for more than five days And I just brought Avi with me every single place I can go and I know some of you can be like well Everyone can't do that. Okay fine I don't know what to tell you but you can a kid is like a dog train him good and bring him fucking everywhere
Starting point is 01:21:59 You had him just raise him and bring him along He needs two hours of fucking reading and fucking math every single day and the rest is shit he can learn just by fucking being your assistant. That's your job as a parent. Make, you know what I mean? You want the border colleague that can sit in the Jeep without a fucking leash while you run into the store. If you don't have that, you're not raising a good kid. That's my, that's my take on it. The obvious toe is broken and they said he can't move, he needs to stay perfectly still for eight weeks. You know what I'm gonna do? Soon as I'm done with the fucking show, I'm gonna go into the garage and I'm gonna tape his toes and he's gonna do a workout with air squats, pull-ups, and some sort of crunch.
Starting point is 01:22:38 And he's gonna- and I'm gonna fucking make him move for an hour. I'm not gonna listen to the fucking doctor that he can't fucking move for eight weeks. How about fuck you? So yeah, I think it's crazy to have kids and not raise them And worse off put them behind a chain-link fence where like I don't want anyone talking to my kid about gender I don't want to be talking to my kid about gender. It's fucking insanity There you go, do you have any thoughts on the subject, Greg? No. Are you glad you're homeschooling? Yeah, hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:19 Yeah, I would never never make kids in every one way. There's this uh conventional wisdom out there, I don't know if it's true or not, but this statistic out there that after your kid turns 13 years old, you will have all between being born and 13 years old is when you'll spend 80% of your time with your kids and that and after the from 13 to whenever you die is the is like 20% or less. And I don't know how this is going to affect it. But you know, my day looks like this. I'm at Greg's house at one and we're sitting on the counter just shooting the shit and talking about stuff. And we feel the temperature drops 20 degrees and Greg calls the kids just shooting the shit and talking about stuff and and we feel the temperature drops 20 degrees and Greg calls the kids in from the backyard and is like hey go start a fire
Starting point is 01:24:10 and the kids go out and fucking start moving wood and start a fire and like There's just a fucking thousand things like that. Hey kids break up the cardboard boxes and get them in the fucking trash cans They're just you just have your kids with you and they're just learning and doing stuff Good morning Hello Hello speak your mind you're free. This is the seven podcast. You're free Geez you sound like a serial killer. This is the Sevan Podcast show.
Starting point is 01:24:47 Hey, something's wrong with our connection. Hey, I'm speaking with Sevan. Okay, you got a callback. Hey, I'm speaking with Sevan. Oh man. You know who it sounded like? A serial killer? Sounded like Sid Martinez.
Starting point is 01:25:02 Oh, oh maybe it is. Let's see Let's see. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Don't get crazy. Okay, go ahead Barry white you're on Hello What's up, hey, what's up someone's wrong with our connection your voice turned into a robot Morning guys, how we doing? Awesome. Seve, we've talked about this a lot before.
Starting point is 01:25:35 Obviously your sentiment as far as taking kids out of school, we, I think all most listeners understand. Um, but here, here's my question for you. I put it in the chat. I don't know if you saw it, but, uh we get doctors? How do we get dentists, astronauts, some of those bigger jobs, some of those more important jobs if we all take our kids out of school and homeschool? I don't know. I'd have to look up and see how many doctors, how many homeschool kids become doctors or astronauts or, you know, where they fall in. But what I see now with my own eyes is the people that I see
Starting point is 01:26:14 who are in the entrepreneurial class are the ones who are fucking leading the way. And obviously we have these people who failed out of college like Einstein and Darwin and people who aren't going with the consensus who do some fucking amazing things. I'd be curious what Elon's education is. I don't know the answer to that. Greg, do you have any thoughts on that? Is the question, how does a doctor homeschool? No, no, how do you become a doctor
Starting point is 01:26:45 if you're just gonna homeschool your kids? Like, can they make the leap from being a 16 year old homeschool to getting into med school to becoming a physician? Yeah, my kids, by the time they're of college age, will have way more learning under their belts than college kids get. But I think he's making the assumption, and I'll make it for him, is that they won't have the skills to jump through.
Starting point is 01:27:16 Janelle has it right. The homeschool kids are going into college. Janelle says, they go to college and get a degree, homeschool doesn't preclude you from secondary education. That's what Janelle said, Jeremy. She's got a good point. I mean, I'd like to look that up. I mean if there is a way to even look that up as far as how many homeschoolers become doctors and you know dentists and all that but uh, and you know, it's not like it can't happen. I just you know in a perfect all that but uh and you know it's not like it can't happen I just you know in a perfect world we've talked about it
Starting point is 01:27:49 where let's say more people are able to take their kids out I mean I got three I'd love to take my kids out of school but I can't swing it I literally cannot swing it and it kills me because well well, for me, I told you, I found really good school district for my kids. They do the Pledge of Allegiance before school. It's like, it's really great place. And I know not everyone has that. So like in a perfect world, dude,
Starting point is 01:28:17 I love hanging out with my kids. That's all I wanna do. But some of us, I don't know, normal folk, we just can't afford to do it. Not that we don't want to, we just can't, you know? Fair enough, too. Fair enough. And hey, as harsh as I am, I'm not judging anybody. I'm not like, hey, you're a fucking... I'm not judging you, by the way. I know. I know. I know.
Starting point is 01:28:41 I know it's hard to make that distinction. I don't hate my parents for sending me to school. And a matter of fact, the thought of staying at home all day with my parents sounds horrific. Dude, same here. Oh my god. But for some reason, I'm making my kids do it. You ever ask them, like, hey, do you like... No, fuck no. kids do it. You ever ask them like hey do you like? No. They don't know any different. It's like they know the alternative is public school. When I do you know once a week I do drive by a school and the kids are on the playground and you can see them through a chain link fence
Starting point is 01:29:16 and we're somewhere and I ask my kids hey do you want to go there and they look at it they're like behind the fence I'm like yeah they're like no no thank you but it's like it's like crazy for them to see that kid kind of locked up yeah that being said Greg's kids have done Greg's kids have done both Greg's kids have been what are your kids do they miss school Greg no no no no I mean I guess if my dad was Greg Lassen and You know, I would probably not mind hanging out with him either. Hey Greg has two daughters who have purple belts and part of their education growing up was Good a jujitsu class
Starting point is 01:30:01 Twice a day five days a week. Yeah. And dude, being a purple belt at fucking 17 or 18 years old is crazy. I mean, it's a crazy accomplishment that no one's ever going to be able to take away from you. I mean, it is a fucking achievement. Oh, absolutely. I would argue that a lot of those types of things are better than what kids are getting in school anyways. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:22 It's just, again, how do you how do you how do I how do I swing homeschooling and still make money, you know, all that stuff. It's it's tough but God I want to trust me I want to. All right, brother. Thank you. All right. It was great talking to you guys. Have a good rest of your day. Bye. Bye. Greg, I'm in a debate. I'm in a conversation with some guys and I'm the only one who sits on my side of the fence. I'd like, do you mind looking at this workout real quick? Yeah. What do you got? squats, 21 deadlift at 225 for the women, and then 15 hand cleans at 155, and then 95 pound for the front squats. I think that the weight for the hang cleans is too much, and they're saying it's perfect.
Starting point is 01:31:23 And I think that they're completely out of their fucking mind. I don't think that there's men who can do that unbroken after those deadlifts. And I think it's three rounds. Is it three rounds? Let me see. Oh maybe it's not three rounds. Maybe, maybe I... Oh, it's only one round? No, that can't be right. Hold on a second. The deadlift should be completed in three sets or less. The hang power cleans in five sets. Yeah, I think that's crazy. The hang power, hang cleans in five sets. Oh, is this, is this just one round or is this three rounds? It's like one round. Oh well then it's even worse for that. That makes it even worse.
Starting point is 01:32:11 I think I don't like this workout but all my friends think it's fucking great. Do you have any thoughts on it? It says it's a sprint. It says it's a sprint. Does it say that? Today's workout is a heavy sprint effort. I want it to be three rounds and on a lower and on a lower the weight. A 185 for the hand clean for the men and 135 for the uh I never argue with these guys these guys are always talking about programming I never chime in but I couldn't tolerate this. Who is it? Who's programming? That's great I don't know who's doing the programming but it's on crossfit.com and my buddies were like dude
Starting point is 01:33:08 This is the first time crossfit's put up a good workout And you know since Greg sold the company and I'm like this workout sucks and that and we're fighting I'm open to losing these guys are all. These guys are trying to ass-pound me. Oh yes, Christine Young, 155 is very heavy for even the best in the world of the women. I want to see some, I keep asking, show me, I want to see a video of a woman do 21 unbroken deadlifts and then 15 unbroken hand cleans at 155. I just want to see it. Show me that. I've been asking. No one can show it to me. I just want to see one. I don't care. Let me see Tia Toomey do it. Show me someone.
Starting point is 01:34:02 Oh, this is Chase program this? I didn't even know this. Don't challenge a chase on programming. I didn't even know this was Chase's workout. Andrew Hiller, this workout sucks. Where's the 20 minutes of a salt bike? See, this guy. I wish I had a calculator here. All right, we can save it for the next show.
Starting point is 01:34:26 What's 135 over 95? You mean if you divide it? Yeah. Or 95 over 135. Calculator... One... What did you say? Divide 95 into 135? Yeah, I wonder what's the ratio of the 95 to 135.
Starting point is 01:34:51 And then do that for me at 155 and 225 and 225 and 315. I wish I knew how. Do you have a calculator? Yeah, somewhere. Mike McCasky says.7. All the way down? Oh, look it, look it. Oh, maybe Chase did program this.
Starting point is 01:35:18 He's saying 60% for the 225-155. And 70% for the 155-155 and 70 percent for the 155-95 I think. I didn't even realize Chase program this. Oh, look at Andrew says he's getting angry. He disagrees with me too. It's a lot of work. I just want to see someone do it. I don't think it's realistic. I don't think one person, I want to see just one person do that unbroken. I want to see a man do that unbroken. The last part was programmed as a cluster but they wrote it wrong.
Starting point is 01:36:38 A cluster meaning what you go straight from the 155 pound hand clean to just straight into doing the front squats. What's a cluster? I don't even know what a cluster is. Oh, clean, oh, clean to, oh. So it was a clean to thruster. So it was supposed to be nine clusters at 95 pounds. Anyway, okay. So you think you because you're thinking about so much. I'm thinking that you think it might be a little heavy. Yeah, I do think it's heavy. Yeah, all right. If you were to if you had to change it just off the top of your head, is it the hand clean that you would lower?
Starting point is 01:37:36 I asked for examples and someone sent me an example of Annie Thor's daughter hand cleaning 145, but she wasn't doing deadlifts first See cases 185 for duty if you just to look around in your gym I would think that the majority of people could do 135 pound front squat, nine reps. But that's, oh, you mean you're looking at the men's weight? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:12 Yeah. And, but how many people could do 15 to 225 hang power clean? None. A lot, much smaller number. Yeah. I'd say zero, especially after the deadlifts. Their grip's going gonna be destroyed. Yeah, the middle exercise feels a little bit non-commensurate.
Starting point is 01:38:32 Right, just a little bit, all right. But it's a... That feels like almost a games kind of workout, right? Yeah, I mean, it's definitely like crazy elite. There was a workout you wrote one time, I was trying to remember what it was. It was hand cleans and rope climbs. And I saw Jimmy Letchford and Dave Castro
Starting point is 01:39:01 and Dutch Lowy try it. It was legless rope climbs. I can't remember the workout. This is probably like in 2008 or nine. And I remember a mid workout, Dutch and Jimmy scaled it. They switched to using their legs. And Dave's time was twice as long as theirs, but he fought, he warred with it.
Starting point is 01:39:21 It was a dot com workout. I wish I could remember what it was. it. It was a dot com workout. I wish I could remember what it was. But it kind of reminded me. I remember seeing that. That was the first time, you know, I was like, oh man, if your grip goes out, you're fucked. Right for the best, scale for the rest. Yeah, I don't know. Graciano could do it 100% unbroken. The no fucking way. He cannot. He cannot.
Starting point is 01:39:56 Not that men's weight. Really? I would think so. Dude, after those 21 deadlifts at 315, I don't think he's gonna be able to hold on to 225 for 15 hand cleans. I think he's gonna peel out of his hand. Put money on it, he says. I'm not that passionate about it, baby. Yeah, I would think he could do it. Yeah. Uh, now they're, they're telling him, do it at two 75.
Starting point is 01:40:33 No, he cannot. He can't, he can't come on guys. Just let him try to do it at two 25. He's not, no one can. Remember the Inman mile. What was it? You had to carry your body weight for a mile? Yeah, on your shoulders.
Starting point is 01:40:49 Yeah, I filmed someone at Craig Howard's original gym try that. It was fucking crazy. I think my understanding is no one's done it. Oh, wow. Sevan arguing Graciano's limitations, how sad. You're right, you got me. Graciano, you can do it dude. Graciano, you can do it. Let me see you do it. Let me see. I believe in you. Greg believes in you. I strike it. Let me see you do it. I can't, I mean I want to be wrong so bad.
Starting point is 01:41:30 Sevan, think of this as 135, 115, and 95 for your weights. I'll actually try that. Let me see that. Let me write that down. I'll try that. 135, 115, 95. Okay, I'll try that. 135, 115, 95. Okay. I'll try it. All right. Let's go eat. All right. Thanks, Greg.
Starting point is 01:41:57 I'll talk to you soon. Bye everyone. Goodbye. Alrighty. Great show as always. Uh, sounds like a kill Taylor idea I'd like to see Taylor do it with the women's weights I'd like to see anyone do it with the women's weights when I'm gonna have a kill Taylor. We don't we don't We don't We don't have a sponsor.
Starting point is 01:42:26 No KillTaylor this week. Ooh, I gotta pee so bad. I wanna show you guys something, but I have to pee so bad. Seve getting ass pounded by the chat today. Maybe that's why I have to pee. All that cock is pushing against my bladder. Is this the Kill Taylor workout for this week? Maybe.
Starting point is 01:42:58 Dick Butter sponsoring the Kill Taylor. Wow. I will, I'll try the beginner option. What is it? 135 dead, 115 hang power. Why don't I do 95 hang clean? 95 hang clean is just stupid that it's written power too. That's just retarded. 135 dead lift, 95 hang clean, 65 front squat for me. 135, 95, 65. God, I don't think I can do that, I'm broken. Graciano, you know what would be just really just in my face is you just go straight from the deadlifts into the hang power cleans. I mean that would be, oh sorry, I should do 55, 45, 35.
Starting point is 01:43:55 Seriously that might not be a bad idea. I don't want to do 35 because then I got, I don't want to do 35 because then I got I don't want to do 35 maybe I should maybe I should just try to do it with The whole entire thing at 65 pounds just two tens on each side 21 deadlifts at 65 21 Hank 15 hand cleans at a 65 and 9 front squads at 65. I Don't like the women's bar. I can't stand the women's bar.
Starting point is 01:44:33 I don't even think women should do the women's bar. Anyway, welcome to the Facts Show. All you guys will talk that shit, but we'll never see it. And once again, I'll be right. Love you guys. See you soon. Bye-bye.
