It's time for a reality check.
An all-inclusive beach break with Sunwing Vacations can actually be cheaper than a staycation.
Let's be real.

Say no to inferior,
more expensive vacays

That is the perfect boat.
I'm going to try
to be the best here.
Bam, we're live.
Good to see you.
Thank you for doing this.
Oh, thank you for the opportunity.
Where are you right now?
In Brasilia.
Still in Brazil.
I'm going to travel on Thursday to Orlando.
I'm going to spend two days there and later I'm going to Madison.
And why did you choose that route?
Do you have family in Orlando?
No, because my coach did this choice for I don't lose any day of work.
So we did this travel.
It was better for me.
this car van travel was better for me and it's uh what's how long is the flight from uh brazil to uh orlando yeah eight hours oh okay eight hours okay so it's a long haul yes
and then you get two days rest there and you'll train there a little bit in the heat
Yes.
And then you'll get two days rest there and you'll train there a little bit in the heat?
Yes, yes.
I'm going to work there two days and later I travel on a rest day on Sunday.
And then registration Monday?
Yes, exactly.
Hey, congratulations making it to the Games. What a monumental task, huh?
Yes, exactly.
It was a big thing for me this year.
Last year, I had an injury in my back,
so it was nice to work very well this year.
And how long have you been doing CrossFit, Kaique?
I think that I had six, eight years doing CrossFit.
And how old are you?
25.
Okay, so you've been doing it since 18, 19.
Yes, yes, exactly.
And what was your discipline before then?
What was your sports discipline before then?
Oh, I did every kind of sports before CrossFit, but I loved gym.
I loved get muscles and work with weights and something like that, you know.
So CrossFit was a kind of adventure for me because I have every day different things to do.
And this was, I think, that I really love it.
Am I saying your name right?
Kaike?
Yes, Kaike Servini.
Kaike Servini.
Yes, exactly.
Kaike Servini.
Kaike, did you ever think CrossFit was silly when you first saw it?
Were you like, oh, this isn't bodybuilding.
This isn't really working out.
They do kipping pull-ups.
Did you ever have any of that?
Yes.
Yes. And who tricked have any of that? Yes. Yes.
And who tricked you into doing it?
I don't know.
Man, I really love this sport.
Really love.
I think that I don't like to do every day the same thing as bodybuilders do, you know?
The same training and things like that.
CrossFit has my passion because I can do every different thing and I can see evolution every single day.
How are the semifinals?
I know you guys don't get a lot of places, and Guy is there,
and I'm guessing that everyone kind of – you guys get two, right?
Two spots, yes, two spots.
Yes, and I'm guessing that when people get there, they're kind of like,
okay, Guy is going to take one place, so that only leaves one spot.
Is it a pretty intense semifinals?
spot is it a pretty intense semi-finals i don't like to to think about it because crossfit can help can happen everything you know just finish when finished so uh i know he and he's a big
athlete and i considered considering that he could have this spot. But I worked a lot.
So I just put my job on the floor.
I just wanted to put everything that I work with my coach on the box on the floor.
So I didn't have any pressure about it.
I don't like to think about that one spot is of some athlete.
Did you compete in the semifinals last year, Kaique?
Just the first workout because I had an injury in my back.
So I just tried to compete, but I wasn't able to do that.
So I decided to stop because I could get worse on my back.
I mean, what a crazy finish.
You took first place.
Yes.
660 points.
Amazing.
Yeah.
And the thing is, though, too, that you know that those guys,
Souza and Malheros, are so good that you kind of have to keep your foot on the gas pedal the whole week, right?
Even workout seven, you still have to go hard.
Yes, exactly.
It was a nice workout.
So, I don't know.
I really loved every workout that we had on the semifinals.
It's just it.
I really love it.
I think that me and my coach,
we worked with everything.
So I'm very prepared for this season.
So I didn't have anything that I saw
that I could have problem.
No, I just worked everything.
How tall are you?
One, it's
86.
So I wonder if, what is that
like six feet tall, 1.86 meters?
I don't know. I don't know.
One meter, 86
centimeters.
And how much do you weigh?
96 kilos. Wow, okay. centimeters. And how much do you weigh? 96
kilos. Wow, okay.
Did you, when you found
CrossFit, Kaikei, did you want to
go to the CrossFit Games? Did you see
it as a sport?
The first thing that I
thought
is that it's something very impossible
because I didn't have a performance, a good performance and something like that.
So first, I just wanted to go to the Brazilian Championship here.
And this is my first target.
So I think that CrossFit Games would be a consequence of every time of work.
But I think that I had a big time to work from that.
So in the beginning, you didn't quite see the mountaintop.
But at some point, you realized, oh i i can do this yes yes i think that
last year i was very prepared for go to the games i'm felt very prepared i did every kind of
exercise and this is something that i for one moment of my career, I think that was a trouble. But now I'm very prepared for everything.
So I'm really capable to compete on the games.
Yeah, you're big, man.
You are a big...
Just a little bit.
Yeah, you are a tall, big, giant crossfitter.
Yes. a you are a big you are tall big uh giant crossfitter yes
hey where did you um what did you compete in before crossfit what was your what were some
of the things you competed in uh just on soccer soccer yeah soccer but was just when i was was was young, very young. Professional, just CrossFit.
Like a professional.
Sevan's dog
is saying you're 6'2", 215
pounds. Wow, you're huge. What's
the least you've weighed,
Kaique, in your...
When you were a soccer player, were you 50 pounds less?
Were you a skinny soccer player?
No, I was a little bit fat, you know, when I was young.
Yes, I have this photo on my Instagram, but I think that is very, very old post.
But I was a little bit fat.
So with the time, I just would like to work on my body.
And the love of sports starts on the gym so i just want to to get better and better and work it yeah and and your parents are where your oh
look at here yeah look at you as a little boy you don't look fat but here you are as a young man much younger than you are now here let me see this yeah yes yes yes so not fat but but not muscular
you hadn't started yes yes this time was when i started to get bigger when i was 15 or 16
something like oh my goodness yes Yes, this thought, yes.
Now you can see that I was a little bit fat, you know? Yeah, yeah,
yeah. You were eating
licorice, candy.
I think that this time was
when I played soccer
and I was good.
You were good? Yes, yes.
Wow, crazy.
What a development.
Is this your dad here?
Yes, my father.
And he's tall too.
Yes, exactly.
My mother too.
Is that Brazil?
Yes, it is.
I don't know.
I didn't remember the name of it.
Morro de São Paulo.
Oh, God. The name of Morro de São Paulo oh god
yes it's very nice
it looks beautiful
Kaique so
were you always competitive
were you very aggressive and competitive
yes I love it
I really love with everything
with my sisters
started with my sisters
and I just
brought with for the sports and everything like that
how many sisters do you have two sisters are you the youngest the middle the middle yeah
what does your dad think about you uh this crossfit thing you coming to the united states to compete in the crossfit games oh when i started crossfit he's a doctor so yeah he he had a thought about it that is very crazy
because crossfit can uh you can have some injury or something like that but now they my father and my mother, they really love to see me competing.
And they see my discipline, my routine, and really believe that it's an amazing thing.
And they will be there on Madison.
Wow.
Yes, my father and my mother will be there.
They are expecting a big thing to happen there.
Do you know Juliana Lima?
Yes.
Of course.
She's my family.
Yeah, she says tell him his cousin is listening.
Yeah, my cousin.
I started CrossFit with her.
Oh, wow. Okay.
Yes.
Did she get you into it or did you get her into it?
Oh, the same. Yes. Did she get you into it or did you get her into it? Oh, the same.
Yeah.
Tell me, when you qualify for the games,
is that emotional when you're down there on the field?
Yes, a lot.
Just because last year I couldn't put everything on the floor because my injury. So this year was very amazing I can't have
words to describe that
and
Kaique what would you say
your level of confidence
was going
into the semifinals were you very confident
yes
like I told you I worked
a lot with my coach
we did everything, every exercise.
So, yes, my confidence was very nice.
I entered on the arena very light, you know.
So I think that is what is still about confidence.
You need to enter very light.
No pressure, nothing like that hey, is that your
natural hair color right there
in your beard?
yes, but
no, it's blonde
and why is that?
when I think of Brazilians I think of them
as black hair and brown eyes
yeah, because my family my old family is from Austria.
So I think that I got this thing of that.
Are there a lot of people like that in Brazil?
All sorts of different looks for Brazilians?
I think the Brazilians are very different.
Every kind of people here, you know.
Yeah.
Your parents came, or the ones that came from Austria, were they escaping?
Was that during World War II?
They were somehow escaping from over there?
Yes, yes.
I think it was my father's grandfather.
Grandmother, sorry.
Was she Jewish?
No.
No.
Interesting. No. Interesting.
Yeah.
Do you ever see,
but you don't see very many blue-eyed,
blonde-haired Brazilians, do you?
Yes, yes.
You do?
Yes, yes.
I have some people here.
Yeah.
Omar Canejo is saying Canelo,
but Canelo is Mexican,
but he has blue eyes and red hair.
Yeah, I don't know Canelo. Who is? It's from box?
Yeah, boxing.
Yeah, he's like the greatest boxer.
Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
You know who else is Austrian?
Oh.
They want you to say it.
Could you, Kaike, could you say
get to the chopper?
Sorry? Could you say the line?
They're making a joke that Arnold Schwarzenegger is from Austria.
And in one of the movies, he says, Get to the Chopper.
In this movie, Predator he's in.
I really don't know this movie.
You don't know that movie, Get to the Chopper?
No, no.
Do you know Predator?
Yes.
Oh, of course, yes. Yes. Oh, of course. Yes.
Yes.
Oh, the first place.
This is a great thing, right?
Yeah. So they want you to say, could you say that?
Because since you're from Austria too, could you say get to the chopper?
Get to the chopper.
It's similar, right?
Get to the chopper.
Is this your first time out of the country, out of Brazil?
No, no. I had competed on the Guadalupalooza, Miami twice.
This year and last year.
I was in Paris for a competition in 2018.
It was the European Showdown.
I think that these three competitions out of Brazil.
Hey, is the goal to win the CrossFit Games?
Sure.
I'm not going to just be there and get the clothes.
Yeah.
I really want to put my best on the floor.
And I can't say that I'm expecting something because we never know what will happen.
But, of course, I'm going to win.
I'm going to win.
And also by that, I mean, whatever happens this year,
do you immediately come home and start training for next year?
Like, is this your life?
You've made it once and now you're going to be a CrossFit Games athlete?
Yes. When I started CrossFit, I really started for being an athlete.
So I love this life.
I love this routine.
And I love work every single day and see my performance getting better.
So, of course, this will happen.
And next year, I will see everything that I did and want to improve more and more.
How old are you again? 25. Oh man,
you're young. Yes, I have time. Yeah. Tell me some of the areas you improved in this year,
in the last year. What are some of the areas that you're like, wow, I got better?
So for me, I had something that could be some problem for me that is handstand
push-up and we work very well on that and some kind of workouts some explosion workouts
i think i i did very well we we working on that and i I can say that is something that I have a problem.
But that you got better on in the last year.
You got significantly better on.
Sure. Of course. Of course.
And how about your strength?
How about your strength numbers, the clean and jerk, the deadlift, the snatch, the back squat?
Is everything still going up?
Yes. Yes. We changed how we work with weight
this year um i don't like to work with a lot of volume with this kind of thing so we reduce it and
i get better on that but i think that the most of my the the most area that I got some gains was in endurance.
Because when I had my injury, I just could work on that.
I just run, bike, and swim.
So we worked a lot on that.
We had too much time.
So I think that I improve with that and I'm
guessing your your soccer background also helped you a lot with your
metabolic ability no I don't know I think that was so we we didn't work so on things like, how can I
say that? We didn't
have a big prepare on this
sport when I was young.
We just played and I
played good, but I think
that it's not a
good background that
I could have something from
CrossFit.
Bob says,
Kaikei is a good dude.
Super chill and likable.
Oh, nice.
Jake Chapman,
Kaikei has one of those faces that works upside down.
Wow.
He's saying, if we turned your...
Wow.
Very, very bizarre observation.
Yes, yes. A little observation. Yes, yes.
A little bit.
Next, next.
Inga.
I like him.
Humble and confident.
Nice.
Yes.
What is the – are there some things that are just straight up in your wheelhouse?
Sleds, yoke carries.
Is there anything that you're just chomping at the bit to
to get your hands on at the games uh no no there's nothing in particular where you're like
oh i really like that i want to do that no um um i i work very well with strength things like
sandbags yoke or sled some. I like these kind of workouts.
I think that we need to have a very strategy to do these things,
but I can handle it.
Do you have a girlfriend?
No, still not.
You're single?
Yes.
And is that on purpose?
You're trying to stay single?
No, no, I like people.
You know, I like people close to me.
I don't see problem.
I have some athletes that think that having a girlfriend is a problem
because maybe he can get focused on other things.
But I have a big discipline, so this is just something that could be better for me, you know?
Have a person side of me and something like that.
Any of these other guys who competed in semifinals, do you train with any of them?
Yes, JP, João Pedro Barcelos. He's my partner here. He had moved to Brasilia to work with me and Andrea Pinheiro.
Where did they place? Did they make it to the same finals 10th
10th place
Pedro Barcelos
he's getting big
he worked very hard with me
he's very
strong man
and how did you find him
through your coach
yes he's the same
coach of me so when he started
the open he was just he was just want to to do the workouts here so i told him just to to come
to my house and stay here for all season and was very nice, stayed, stayed, and we are living together now.
Oh, look, look, already.
Inga, I would snuggle with him.
Well, that's very nice of her.
She would snuggle with you if you needed snuggling.
When you see what's going on in the States, I guess, or I guess elsewhere too outside the States, but you see sort of these camps of these athletes congregating together.
Does any part of you consider trying that?
Like maybe next year coming up and training for a month with a large group of athletes?
No, no problem.
Do you want to do it or do you not want to do it?
Oh, I think I don't want to do it or do you not want to do it? Oh, I think I don't want to do it.
You don't want to do it.
You like your group in Brazil.
Yes, exactly.
Exactly.
I prefer to be here.
I have everything that I need here.
Everything.
I have my coach, family, friends.
I have the all-extrater here.
And I don't think this is...
I need to do that, you know, to perform
better.
It's...
Exactly.
Yeah, you have everything you need there. What about
an agent? Do you have an agent?
Yes, I have my
manager, Murilo. I think that he is watching right now
and we're working a lot for everything he do everything for me and we'll be there
in the medicine for help me with some things

Do you think that this year is maybe like a more big guy year than any year? I'm thinking like it's you, Fikowski, Yella, Hostie, Jake Douglas.
I mean, these are a lot of big men over six feet tall.
Like you said, you're 186 centimeters you think that the sport maybe is
going that way because normally it's been smaller men right uh yes uh i saw some things some comments
about this last semifinal that can could be better for some athletes, some tall and bigger guys.
But for a day, I need to change my mind because I always have thoughts about I need to be smaller
for competing better.
And I need to change it for stop to have some, how can I say, to have some, forget this word.
You've been doing great.
It's not even a big deal.
Yeah, so I need to change it.
So I don't think that it's something that's defined this part going up, you know.
I think that we have space for every kind of people.
And every kind of people need to work on the different exercise that could be a problem, you know.
We need to be very, how can I say that?
We need to be balanced, you know?
Yeah.
Did you just look up a word to use?
Sorry?
Did you just look up a word to use?
Yes, I tried to.
When I forgot something.
Wow, that was fast.
Yes.
You're good.
Yes, of course.
I'm prepared here.
I told you my English is not perfect.
Dude, it's so good.
And that was crazy fast.
This is something that you can see on the games.
I'm very fast, man.
Yeah.
Mike Poolboy, every time I think I'm, when I look at Cervini it reminds me
that I'm gay
oh he says
everyone
do you get a lot of attention from girls
if you're walking through the airport
do you feel like there's a lot of
females who stare at you
oh my god this question
no I don't see that
that things
you don't see those things No, I don't see that, that things.
You don't see those things?
Oh, no, I don't think.
No, you don't.
All right.
I don't see those things when I walk through the airport either.
Oh, my God.
I'm still not famous, you know?
But it's not even like that.
You're 6'2", and you're exuding just so much manhood. You know, I need to ask one of your friends because I have friends.
And when I walk places with them, I just see people's girls staring at them.
And I'm sure it's like that if I ask someone.
Maybe sometimes it happens, but not always.
Wow.
Wow.
They're getting crazy.
Jake Chapman says, this guy has a giant hog.
Wow.
It's not as safe. I don't know if that translates. I don't know if you know what has a giant hog. Wow. It's not as safe.
I don't know if that translates.
I don't know if you know what hog is in Brazil.
Yeah, I don't know.
You could guess.
My goodness.
Okay, so you do the games.
You'll give it your all.
Your mom and dad will be here.
How exciting.
That says a lot that your family supports you.
And then what will you do when the games are over?
Do you rush home or do you chill in the States maybe a little?
Oh, I'm going to spend some days on USA.
But I don't know how many times I'm going to have to rest
because I'm expecting going to the Rogue Invitational.
Oh.
Yeah, so
I don't know. I just will spend
some days on USA and
later come back for home.
So you think you might even stay until
the Rogue Invitational?
Yes, of course. I want that.
I want to have
this season like a perfect season, you know?
I'm expecting
a lot of great things to
happen and will you
will Orlando be your
your home base while you're in
the States
could be a good thing
but
no
where will if you stay
when is Rogue Invitational?
In October.
So I have two months.
Wow.
So you think you'll stay in the United States?
I'm back again to USA.
Oh, okay.
You won't stay in the United States.
You'll go home.
No, no.
Oh, okay.
I'm back to home, yes.
I just will spend maybe 10 days on USA after the games.
Back to home and still work
and later I'm back to USA
to compete again
what are you going to do in your 10 days here?
what's the plan?
I want to rest a lot
really, this season
was a big season
I worked a lot and I just want to
rest
I like beach
I like something like that
to waste my time
don't come to California
oh
why not
why not
yeah
the water won't be as good as the water in Brazil
and the states
falling apart.
Go to Florida.
Okay.
Yes.
Go to Florida.
Yeah.
Good weather and good police.
Yeah, it's good.
You don't want to come to – I mean, unless you want to do drugs,
unless you're into drugs and robbing liquor stores, then I don't know.
Yes.
I got it.
I got it. You can come to California. I got it. I got it.
And you could come to California.
I got it.
I got it.
Oh, God.
When you – so your coach is coming and are you your coach's first –
tell me your coach's name again.
Bernardo Camargo.
Bernardo.
Is this Bernardo's first time going to the games with an athlete?
No, he was Guy's coach.
Oh.
Yes.
He had a long time going to the games.
Last year.
He was Guy's coach?
Yes, was.
Was.
Was, yes.
Did you used to train with Guy? Was, yes. And did you used to train with Guy?
No, no.
When Guy went to Mayhem, I started to work with Bernardo.
Hey, is a little bit of that like it's exciting that you won
because the old student is gone and then you're with the new coach
and you're like, okay, I beat your old student?
I mean, that's got to be a little satisfying.
Yes, it's a complicated thing uh i don't know i just think that bernardo worked very well with me yeah yeah yeah that's awesome he must be and he must be so proud of you yes
i think i think that um your your uh coach does your coach know your, your, uh,
coach,
does your coach know your family,
your coach,
know your dad and your mom and your sisters.
Exactly.
I see him more than I see my,
my family.
So I think he's,
he's do everything like that for me.
Um,
I am,
uh, I'm excited to meet you in person
I really appreciate you coming on
I know it makes you
it's vulnerable to come on somewhere
and speak a second language
to the entire CrossFit community
and I really appreciate you doing that
thank you, it's nice
I always try to
do everything
better than I can.
Look, I think this is BSB CrossFit.
Bernardo, I'm very proud of you.
Yes.
Awesome, brother.
Well, hey, I look forward to meeting both of you in Madison,
and it's going to be great seeing you compete.
I know that the CrossFit community is going to embrace you
and love on you and cheer on you.
And they can't wait to see you there.
Thank you.
Very nice.
I can't wait for it.
All right, brother.
I will talk to you soon.
Thank you for coming on.
Thank you, Sivan.
See you.
See you in Madison.
Ciao.
Yes.
He's a chill dude.
Good luck to him.
Yeah, I like him dude it takes balls coming on here
not speaking english like in doing what he did i can't wait to see this guy
yeah uh ash uh ash v yeah me neither what a stud only 30 minutes uh you know why
uh i'm tired and there was no way
I'll probably have him on again
and really dig into his life but I'm tired
I'm sleepy
I got up too early I stayed up too late
I almost missed this podcast
I was on the phone with Andrew Hiller
fucking around with camera gear we were looking at our cameras
and like going through the menus
and stuff with the cameras together and talking about
our cards and just
you want to hear two dorks and like going through the menus and stuff with the cameras together and talking about our cards and just –
you want to hear two dorks.
I don't think the FN button should be placed there.
Which card do you have?
