Oh, Jesus, what is it? What are you doing? What's wrong with you? We're trying to do a what are you doing? Oh my god, Ben
Starting point is 00:00:47 Don't do this. No, Ben, no, no, Ben, Ben, what are you doing? I need it. After this week, I need to cigarette. Go ahead. For the audio listener, I need to cigarette. Ben, this is crazy oh why do you tell me my pants are in the I thought you knew maybe you are pathetic aren't you it's pathetic you know what you know what man I get a close up of this. Okay? I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Ugh. I don't need it. Alright? I don't... I don't need it. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha We're going to all this. We're going to 100,000. Ah, sorry about that. We were right in the middle of the first, we were doing a TM trillionaire mindset trans and dental meditation. You know I tried trans and dental meditation with you. And what, you couldn't get David,
Starting point is 00:02:47 David Lynch's voice out of your head? No, I got queasy and I had to leave. That sounds very bencon. There were showing pictures of the brain and I was like, I got one of those. This is too weird. That's like, are we supposed to get queasy when we meditate?
Starting point is 00:03:03 Yeah. That was a really funny, cold open. I don't know if we're gonna be able to use that. I was trying to underscore how I feel like a boy, hope that doesn't make me sick, swallowing a couple leaves of tobacco. I was gonna say I can't imagine it would, but I just remembered that seeing pictures of the brain made you sick. swallowing a couple leaves of tobacco. I was going to say I can't imagine it would, but no,
Starting point is 00:03:26 I just remembered that seeing pictures of the brain made you sick. Yeah. Well, I'm a bit of a weirdo, but, uh, no, we'll get into it. But I, I, I made a lot of money this week, but I couldn't make a lot more. And I'm very upset about it. No, complain some more about how you made a lot of money this week. No, but I didn't make a lot. But you did, you said I made a lot of money. Yeah, but I could have, I should have made so much more.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And that's the, it's the trader lifestyle. As you, it's the only profession where not doing something means not making money. Did you see those pictures of the Beagle on the way here? The Beagle. $3,500, we find that lost Beagle, baby. I didn't know what you're talking about. I was too busy watching the road.
Starting point is 00:04:14 You were too busy looking. You were going, oh, that's a little, oh, I can't think of a little baby. Looking around. Yeah, yeah. We didn't drive together, folks, it was great. You know what I thought about doing?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Got a little piece in quiet. Yeah, me too. didn't drive together folks is great. You know what I thought about doing got a little piece in quiet. Yeah me too I I still got text from yeah, yeah, you you sure did I was trying to make you laugh I'm in a rental car and I was right in front of him because I have to something to do after the show I opened the Sunroof and I like stuck my head out and I turned around and I was going, eh? Eh?
Starting point is 00:04:47 But he didn't even notice. He didn't even see me, folks. Other cars didn't, probably were like, what's the matter with this fucking idiot? I sound the road, baby. Yeah. Hey Steve Sleut, you big Sleut, just you, the one- No, but someone lost their beagle. Take the disclaimer in the box. They're off from $300 bucks. Damn, man. That beagle got stolen that beagles long gone like my car
Starting point is 00:05:12 Maybe your beagles slow the car man shut up. I know you I knew you would say that Hey, guess what shit heads we got What? I just thought that would be funny. Nobody's a shithead, but me. We got a new merch thing. We got a post one's gonna be fun. This, I'm excited. Postard drop, baby.
Starting point is 00:05:31 This, our first posters. Yeah, our first posters. We got one. And they're marking a momentous occasion. Yeah, the big kiss. Which one's me? Which one's me? I don't know which one's me.
Starting point is 00:05:43 I think I'm the one with the big guns, because I got huge arms. Yeah, that's me? Which one's me? I don't know which one's me. I think I'm the one with the big guns, because I got huge arms. Yeah, it's me on the right. Or that's me on the right that's a meal on the left. And as you can see, this is, so hey, I think, hey, you're wearing what I'm wearing today. Oh yeah, it's not weird. Yeah, but anyway, there's gonna be a second version too.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Yeah. There's the flyer for the, to, to, to, you know, they smell good too. Oh yeah, that's card stock, baby. To promote the big kiss, that one's gonna be on sale too. But those, the ones we just showed, those are limited, those are limited to dish. And if you buy one of those,
Starting point is 00:06:18 they're gonna be signed by me and Ben. That's right. I think I accidentally just fucked that one up on the edge, fuck. I hope we have extras. Do we I accidentally just fucked that one up on the edge. Fuck. I hope we have extras. Do we have extras? Yeah, we got plenty of extras.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Yeah. Actually, unless you want that one. You're not that extra, it's because it's limited edition. No, no, but yeah, but no. But yeah, we have like five extras. Just in case one of us fucks up how to spell our own name. I think this one. Someone's getting a fucked up poster.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Yeah, well, no, it's just I mean me because I'm so limited to take it. I can't even detect it, but I just dropped it on the floor and it looks like just a very slight little like Damage to the to the edge. It'll be alright. Anyway, who gives a shit? So there's that we got that coming and you'll be able to Buy one if you want. Today? I don't know. Today, just tomorrow for us, today for you.

It's do you want it or not no skin off my day. Yeah, no skin off my penis well Actually, yeah, because but not regarding yeah, yeah, no regarding this and Anyway, also I did quit cigarettes a week ago. I'm not even thinking about them. That whole thing just now in the intro was just a bit.
Starting point is 00:08:28 It's common. Oh, that was a bit. Yeah, it was a bit. Whoa. I didn't actually, I wasn't actually stuck in traffic. That was a lie. Do you not feel, no, I feel nothing looking at this box of trash cigarettes.
Starting point is 00:08:41 You don't, you don't, you don't want them at all? Nope. Interesting. Yeah, No, no desire Yeah, none whatsoever. I've been trying to quit sugar. Yeah, can't do it. It's easy. It's not you simply stop Yeah, I do that, but I I want to climb the walls. What do you what kind of sugar you crave in brown granulated pastries man? You know, oh yeah, all time pastries friends and family the place on Hollywood Bullerder also eater just was talking about the best chocolate quesant and calls on
Starting point is 00:09:12 Where is it you know I'm gonna tell you tell me where it is It's in Pasadena somewhere. Oh fuck that shit. That's too far for the best chocolate quesant man It's too far maybe from already out there It's too far. For the best chocolate croissant, man, it's too far. Maybe from already out there. It's, I guarantee it's not that great. Eater's just, you know, oh, look at it. It looks like a weird little pug.
Starting point is 00:09:33 We're looking at a picture of a qualsonth, folks. Yeah. How do I get it so flaky? What do they do? What's the secret there? Ancient Chinese secret. Ancient Chinese secret, huh? I don't know about that. This is LA's ultimate chocolate.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Man, I can just see the crumbs on my shirt? I don't know about that. This is LA's ultimate chocolate man. I can just see the crumbs on my shirt from taking a big bite of that. It's just, you know, it just goes right on your shirt. We should go out there and get one. Pestini is not that far. I'll get one. Yeah, okay, will you grab me one?
Starting point is 00:09:58 Wait, no. I did well. What the fuck man, you're already going out there. Also, you gotta get fresh. We wouldn you gotta drive it all the way up there fresh We wouldn't make it today. You know what they say if it's not fresh No You don't want to eat croissants after 11 a.m That is what they say that is what they say you can't contend with that and hey guys listen
Starting point is 00:10:21 I don't know what's going on where everybody thought that I hated TNN as a segment, but everybody, yeah, you guys seem to hate it. That's why it's been canceled. Yeah, we're not, no, we decided not to do it every week. We're gonna do it maybe once a month as a standalone. And also you guys might be thinking like, wait, but I look at the comments, I didn't see that many, it's not the comments, it's the DMs we get. It's death threats
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, stop doing TN or else. Yeah people were calling me the K word It's the Jew one Punxie Tony Phil Yeah, what what did he see a shadow? Yeah, yeah, they should just kill that badger. They should just kill him build a blasio Did one time killed him? He drops one of punk's tawny fills and it died. Oh, man Damn, wow, I guess that means like permanent fucking winter or whatever the fuck Just just stop it already with the beaver badger. What is it a beaver fun thing? Let him do his thing Yeah, I guess I don't know it seems cruel to me and also
Starting point is 00:11:23 Every single time the little shit sees it shadow and we get more winter wins the last time I don't know it seems cruel to me and also every single time the little shit sees it Shadow and we get more winter wins the last time we didn't get it You know why we live in LA because it pops up and it goes what the fuck are all these cameras and people doing here I'm going back inside my house and then yeah, they're like he saw a shadow. He's scared It's more winter shut the fuck up. You top hat wearing a piece. That's how it goes at all That's how it goes. He sees his shadow and then Bill Murray gets stuck in a time mark. No, no, no, see you're no You never grew up on these cusses. It's a big deal You go how long is this winter gonna be? I gotta know what punks Tony fills up to it's fucking stupid. I
Starting point is 00:12:02 Think it's actually pretty cute I'm all over the place. You know, maybe. Not today always. Ah! So why was I upset, you ask this morning? Well, because Jerome... I didn't ask. All right, why were you upset this morning?
Starting point is 00:12:13 Jerome Powell, the Butthole-Mouth King extraordinaire, came and he fucked up my shit in a kind of good way. Yeah, how do you fuck up your shit? Because he just came out and you said exactly the right thing that the market just fucking creamed it shorts over. Yeah, but can I say one thing? What? The funny thing is, he literally said, don't cream your shorts over this. Yeah, but the market doesn't care. The market's looking for, the market's going, so what you're saying is there's a chance.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Yeah, that's basically in a nutshell. That's all they needed. Yes, because he finally acknowledged that inflation is coming down, and they got rid of some of their like crisis language in their press release. They took out the part about Russia, maybe tanking the global economy, and it was just the perfect storm for everybody to kind of collectively go,
Starting point is 00:13:09 woo! Hell yeah, baby, I'm gonna live forever, and the market fucking rallied. And what did I do? I rode the wave, but jumped off my board before I got fucking baroldy, bro. That's a surfer term. So you got pitted I didn't get paid I got I started to get covered up But I thought all the waves gonna fucking wall out on me close out and I might as well bail and take what I got But then it was just like 20 seconds again checked that I Could have gotten and then a set came after that and I just have to watch everybody else get great waves. And you're trying to have a look at how they're going.
Starting point is 00:13:47 What the fuck man, oh you shit, I'm pissing my wetsuit. So like, for example, by the way, the Trader Treehouse scored people in the treehouse made money. So that's fucking good and I'm happy for them and I'm glad, but Jesus, H, so like I I bought a bunch of I bought a fuck ton of carvana Cuz it like 70 or 80% of the float was short and I thought oh you know This thing's setting up and things are ripping. I had a fuck ton of it at like seven bucks a share. You know what it's that today? It's like 17 damn. I sold it all yeah, I sold it all at like, oh, 18, excuse me.
Starting point is 00:14:27 I sold it all at like 11 or 12 and then I bought back at $9 something and then I flipped it again for another buck and then it just fuckin' ripped on me. And just that alone I should have made an extra fuckin', I don't know, $20,000. And then there was Silvergate, ticker symbol SI. Wait, is that the crypto bank?
Starting point is 00:14:50 Yes, that is. And they are heavily shorted also and because everything that has been absolutely murked has been ripping back. So I bought a couple thousand shares and I sold it. And then I bought a couple thousand more and I sold it. And then I bought a couple thousand more and I sold it this morning at like 20 bucks. And then again, it like 18 and change. And now it's a $21 and something since. And that's just another, you know, $8,000
Starting point is 00:15:18 that come in. If I didn't. Wait, but what the fuck? They're up 62% of it. Yeah. Because it was a short, it's a short squeeze, man.% of it was a short it's a short squeeze man. God damn it's all the bad news that that I mean just as my blanket and some of their whole world still has to be bad news. Well, based on what little I know because I'm not really getting into the weeds on these things. I'm just trading them. But their FTX shit is behind them.
Starting point is 00:15:47 I think they are. Maybe. Like they wrote off their, yeah, they just, and BlackRock, that was, sorry, that was a big thing. BlackRock disclosed a stake in them. But you know, that doesn't necessarily mean that troubles gone for them. Because I think BlackRock also bought a stake in Something that ended up tanking anyway shit. What was it was a carvana might have been carvana actually or bed bath and beyond One of those something something But before we get ahead of ourselves so drone that drone pal came out and they're they're now raising 25 basis points the
Starting point is 00:16:26 As expected the smallest raise since they started. Yeah, since they started raising rates, signalling that, you know, maybe the soft landing is actually possible. But as I was saying, his whole message was, don't celebrate. Yeah, but the mark, it's like, so you're saying there's jeans. Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Yeah. And part of the reason for the rally was probably a structural thing with all the, it has to do with volatility and shit where dealers, aka the, the, the entities that are selling puts are then, you know, they're buying back all these positions and it just creates this big fucking influx of buying Pressure and it just pushed everything up and it just sucks because I'm sitting there when spy was it like 403 And I thought you know I should buy some 405 strike calls and they went from a buck to like 10 bucks And just it's like a
Starting point is 00:17:25 god why didn't I just buy five grand worth of those and make 50 grand in a single day? Why didn't I do that? I'll tell you why, Emil. The way you're, it makes you okay, it was making it look scary. Oh really? I actually don't have an answer why. Probably because I had too many positions on it. I was just focused on like, okay, what's going on? What's gonna happen next? Because those fed days are really hard to trade. It literally goes like up, down, up, down, up, down
Starting point is 00:17:55 before it finally picks a direction. And then the direction that it chose was up. And at that point, I had already sold so many positions, but oh, he caused his little iPad. It's like being with a baby at a restaurant. Gotta get his iPad. Anyway, so yeah, it was just this perfect confluence of things. And what's funny is,
Starting point is 00:18:24 what would that be yesterday? No, two days ago for us, three days ago for you guys on Tuesday, Michael Burry, the big short guy, tweeted just the word sell. Sell? Yeah. And then he did what he famously does, deactivated a disorder account after yesterday's
Starting point is 00:18:44 two days ago for you guys is rally. Why does he do that? I don't know because he's dramatic. I don't know. It is weird. He doesn't explain it. He just does it. He's like a bit, I'm not being funny. He's like a bit neurodivergent, right? Yeah, I think, yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the thing about him, right?
Starting point is 00:19:07 And yeah, yeah, he tweeted a cell and then, yeah, deleted his account. He has me blocked, by the way. I know we've talked about this before, but he's got me blocked on Twitter, which I wear as a badge of honor, kind of. So does Sven Henrik, whatever his name, Permabair Sven Henrik has me blocked.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I should try to get him, get him, interview him and ask him why. I know why it's because I made fun of him. Just mute people. Yeah, just mute. That'll be so dramatic. Muting is a lot more powerful than blocking. But this does feel more optimistic than we've seen it in a year. You know, everyone has been calling for a recession is now pumping the brakes and going, oh, maybe not. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:19:51 it's seriously. I'm F is no longer forecasting it except for in the UK. Yeah. Good look out there. I shouldn't say that. No, no, no, that's yeah, that like a record number of construction companies are filing for bankruptcy in the UK. Yeah, I saw like 4,000 How many how are there that you're on a time you're on a fucking island? How much is there to build you guys built it out already you've been there for thousands of years? I don't have the answer to that question I'm sure there's plenty of building to be done. I mean, think about the island of Manhattan. It's completely built up, right?
Starting point is 00:20:26 Yeah. But every time you're there, you're like, when are they gonna finish? You're just constantly walking under scaffolding. Yeah, it's true. And you will come across the wayward plot of land that's like sandwiched between two buildings going, how the fuck is this still untouched?
Starting point is 00:20:42 Probably some old lady who owns it. Or got demolished and they're gonna put something there. Yeah, that's true. So yeah, it's like suddenly, I mean, maybe different for you guys, but in the daily reports and shit that I get, recession calls are, it's like suddenly just evaporated. It's, people aren't clamoring and thinking
Starting point is 00:21:03 that a recession is imminent. Elon Musk still, it's kind of mixed, right? Because Elon Musk still thinks that there's going to be one. But I mean, take that with a grain of salt. But then you had like GDP came in strong last week, 2.9%. But then, oh wait, what else was there? The key Fed inflation measure, yeah, eased in December, consumer spending also declined.
Starting point is 00:21:28 But... What just happened? I just burped. Oh, did you hear that? I thought you were getting sick. No, no, no. Yeah, so one of the biggest... One of the biggest... of the biggest,
Starting point is 00:21:45 I'm gonna let me, you good? Ships. I'm gonna have to. Yeah. I have also that the clip of John Cena speaking Chinese, eating ice cream stuck in my head. What are you trying to say? I was trying to say the guy who was perhaps the most accurate
Starting point is 00:22:04 in his predictions of the market the last few years, Mike Wilson from Morgan Stanley, is still saying that like even despite the rallies that we've been seeing, that the market is still going to be, he's doubling down saying that this is all just one big bear market trap. Or yeah, bear market rally. So we're not out of the woods. I mean, that's what he says, but it's it depends. It also feels I write it also feels very dependent on on the Fed, right? If they are extremely committed to getting down to 2%, they might have to keep hiking until everyone gets thrown out of work and will they? Because at this point, I mean, they've even acknowledged like the labor market is still
Starting point is 00:22:48 strong and wage growth is like slowing down, which is exactly what they want. It's kind of coming to the point where the market has kind of what's it called where you buttress? Yeah, buttressed itself and has anticipated, it's already priced in. It feels like, that's why it feels like, okay, we're in the clear. And you know what I read? There's like $1.75 trillion in money market funds,
Starting point is 00:23:22 just sitting there, like retail money, just sitting there. That's so much fucking money, because they're collecting interest on the higher interest. What happens when all that money, you know, starts to chase. It could just be, could just be one of those fucking things where it just, well, market keeps going higher and everybody thinks, well, surely it's got to pull back
Starting point is 00:23:44 and then it just fucking doesn't and it keeps going higher and everybody thinks, well, surely it's got to pull back and then it just fucking doesn't and it keeps going and any, any news thereafter, good or bad is good. But part of the reason why Mike Wilson was saying this and what some people are starting to say is all over Twitter, it's like, well, this feels like 2020 again because you're getting the garbage stocks flying. Usually, usually that can be the sign that the rally is imminently going to end. You got Carvon and Rally. I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Yeah, it's like they make the rounds to all the different things and you got people chasing AI stocks, which we'll get to in a bit. Yeah, Buzzfeed, Rallyed to 200% or whatever it was. Facebook's back. Facebook posted a huge quarter. It's got a suck to have gotten laid off by them. Oh, and watch them do what it was. 40 billion dollars. 40 billion dollars. Share buy back.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Someone was running the numbers and how much, what percentage the layoff will cover that buy back? You know what I mean? How much money they saved, but what did they fire? 18,000 people. 18,000 people. And they were like, even if they were paying all of those people 300K, it covers about. Yeah. And I'm not trying to like, side with them or Facebook or anything. But they hired all these people in anticipation of a climate that didn't pan out. So it's like,
Starting point is 00:25:03 yeah, they got to cut trim the fat, I guess. What do you mean, dude? Losing 13 billion on your big metaverse bet? Oh, yeah. It's just, yeah. It's all just right around the bend, baby. Yeah. Well, that was, it's all I was saying,
Starting point is 00:25:16 Zuckerberg's trying to just consolidate power. So if anyone tries to push him out and turn the company in a new direction, he can still be like, no, no, no, we are doing our metaverse thing. Jesus Christ. We are committed. So anyway, Mike Wilson also on Monday said that he noted or rather reiterated the point that cost growth is rising faster than sales growth for roughly 80% of S&P 500 industry groups. And as a result, margin pressure is worsening. But maybe that's going to take a while to show up because currently we're in the midst of earning season. And it's like all the bad news is baked in. And everybody's
Starting point is 00:25:58 expecting forecasts for the next quarter to be bad. But they're so far guidance isn't as bad as people thought. So it's like, okay, what do you want here? I have to say, I get very confused by what gets baked in and what doesn't, right? And it's all a crap shoot. Everyone knew this 25 basis points was coming. Right, but that's all it took for me. But it's the press conference after
Starting point is 00:26:23 where they're actually asking Jerome Powell questions that really starts to move the market because yeah, they he acknowledged. Yeah, you know, we can't the inflation is coming down. But he's always fucking changing, right? He's this necorial motherfucker who's just like. And then and then in a couple weeks, he's going to have a different tune and then and then two weeks later, he's going to just like, and then, and then in a couple of weeks, he's gonna have a different tune, and then, and then two weeks later, he's gonna be like, I don't know, actually, I don't feel that anymore. He did, I believe he acknowledged that the market has decided that inflation is coming down,
Starting point is 00:26:58 and I don't know if he said that that's good or bad, I don't think that that's his place necessarily, but in its true, the market has kind of acknowledged that, okay, shit, it's working. Inflation is coming down really fast. Some people were, there was one guy, I can't remember what bank, city bank, or something like that, predicted that we'll be at 2% by the end of the year,
Starting point is 00:27:20 2% inflation. Wow. You know what that number comes from? No. It's just some arbitrary thing. I think it was in New Zealand in maybe the 90s. They had out of control inflation and so they had to set a target. And so they set a target of 2%.
Starting point is 00:27:39 And then people just started to kind of follow that. Interesting. I mean, it does work, right? It does sound good. 2%, that's a nice low number. 0% sounds better. Yeah, how about negative? How about fucking E-plation?
Starting point is 00:27:51 How about things get cheaper? Yeah. God damn. Yeah, Jerome Powell, how about you shoot for that? And then like you said, the IMF also raised, it's, they raised their 2023 global outlook, citing easing inflation, China reopening reopening and resilient demand in the West. And speaking of resilient demand in the West,
Starting point is 00:28:10 last week, VISA posted their quarter one, and they beat, and they beat across the board, and they said that resilient consumer spending was to blame in a positive way. Visa and the master card. I'm blaming you in a positive way. Both the Visa and MasterCard CEOs
Starting point is 00:28:33 on their conference calls said like, they don't see any signs of a recession. Spending, baby. People do be spending. Yeah, take a look at my Visa and MasterCard. Yeah, mine too, man. Oh, boy, my AMX too. I think American Express also Yeah mine too man. Oh boy great my am x2 I think American Express also posted a oh wait. Yeah, not master card. I don't use that one
Starting point is 00:28:50 Yeah, I don't think I have a master card anymore just visa and American Express Anyway, but yeah Elon still thinks that there's gonna be a serious recession and he's planning for Tesla to cut costs across the board to brace for it And they also drop their prices. I think their goal is to increase sales volume and temporarily take a hit in the margin, in the margin column to account for that. It's a worthwhile risk, I think. Sure. Get more people to hop on board with those Teslas.
Starting point is 00:29:23 Not me, though, baby. I ain't buying one of these. I think people who bought Teslas hop on board with those Teslas. Not me though, baby, I ain't buying one of these. I think people who bought Teslas recently are a little pissed, but yeah, the people in China were pounding down the door at the Tesla dealership. Were they really? Yeah, they were super pissed off when they announced, and that's those Chinese man, they worked together.
Starting point is 00:29:41 They banded together and they went out there and they raised a fuss. Have you ever seen the videos of the Chinese kids that they do the... Oh yeah, synchronized. Well, have you seen the video, yeah, dribbling the basketballs? Yeah. And they're like kindergarteners. That's what I'm gonna do with my kids when I have a bunch.
Starting point is 00:29:58 You just make them all synchronized basketball? Yeah, it's pretty impressive. Have you seen the video of John Cena eating ice cream and speaking in Chinese? No, but I knew you would you would not so great. Yes, I have seen it. Yeah Buddy, mine texted me and goes, hey, do you know what being chilling is? And I was like, no, what's being chilling? And I Google it and that's like that's the phrase that you use when you want to search for it because he's like, oh, Shota Bing chilling. Da da sha Bing chilling. I think that's how you say ice cream in Mandarin. when you want to search for it, because he says like, oh, shawt, ah, Bingchilling, dah dah shawt, Bingchilling. I think that's how you say ice cream in Mandarin.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Bingchilling. I can't argue with you, but I wouldn't know. Ah, all right. So I don't know, he was speaking Mandarin and I can't use. You know, I don't have an answer. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:43 I just defaulted to Mandarin. What other ones are there? Mandarin, Cantonese. I don't have an answer. I don't know. I just defaulted to Mandarin. What other ones are there? Is Mandarin Cantonese? I don't know all there. So yeah, we're in the midst of earning season, baby. I think Google reports today, yesterday for you guys, but today, after hours for us, AMD, the chip maker, beat, but they forecasted a 10%
Starting point is 00:31:05 year over year sales decline, a made lower consumer demand and supply chain issues. And guess what, the stock was up. Who would have thought? Who the fuck would have thought? That's like you said, it's like what's baked in and what's not, how can you even fucking tell? You know who did do well?
Starting point is 00:31:21 Excellent. Well, no, the one before that. I'm trying to remember what the fuck. I just pantomime eating. Makinis baby, Makinis. Yeah, they're fucking, and it makes sense, right? Why? Because people want to cheap meal. Yeah, people want to have a french fries.
Starting point is 00:31:44 In the Big Mac. Quarter pounder with cheese. I don't know if it does make sense, right? Everyone's talking about, oh, spending is all the same. But now people are worried about, now people are worried about cheaper food and everything. Yeah, but if you're still, you're hungry and you're feeling the wallet a little tighter here,
Starting point is 00:32:01 then you go there for a hamburger instead. I want to know when the prices at Trader Joe's are going to come back down. My God. Still cheap there, isn't it? I think I pay about double what I was paying, but no shit. All this started happening. What are you buying there that's so expensive?
Starting point is 00:32:15 Eggs. No, but eggs have, the eggs haven't like shot up there. Eggs have always been kind of expensive there. I don't know. It just all kind of adds up, but I go, how the fuck? Cause I used to spend about 50, 60 bucks a week. Damn.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Now I'm at like 90 to 100. Wow. Damn. Yeah. Doesn't make sense, I'm not buying anything. I don't even buy meat. Yeah. Just all veggies and shit.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Oh, there's another stock speaking of, beyond meat. There's another garbage one that just shot up over the last few weeks. Did I make money on it? Yeah, I did. Shut up. Coinbase, shot up. I think it doubled.
Starting point is 00:32:57 I bought fucking Coinbase at like $40 a share. I sold it in the, I don't know, in the high 40s. And now it's at like fucking 72 dollars today So much fucking money man Pissing me off see those kind of make sense. I think you know crypto was taking a big hit when When these interest rates starts started getting jacked up and now that people are seeing they're cooling off I can see Crypto companies getting their jimmy's all rustled over that. Yeah, I can see crypto companies getting their jimmies all rustled over that.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Yeah. I did a nice trade on micro strategy. I bought some 270 calls and it shot up to $330 in the money those calls went. How much do you make off that? I don't know, like eight grand or something. Jesus. It could have been more.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Yeah, it could have been more. It could have been more. That's the. Yeah, it could have been more. It could have been more. That's the thing, man. It could always be more, but who gives a fuck? This is why Ben will never be happy. I'll be happy. I'm happy right now, Emil.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Uh, yeah, but Exxon, of course. Hey, you know what? Fuck you, Exxon, and Shell, and BP, and all you got in oil companies. I hope you all choke. They posted record profits of $59 billion. It's pretty good. I think the last one was they hit like 40 something in 2000. Oh, no, here it is. Exxon results far exceeded the then record 45.2 billion dollars net profit at report in 2008 Was not only smashed smashed the record yeah not only for themselves but for an oil company for the oil industry
Starting point is 00:34:35 Exxon's thing last year Record profits 6.7 million dollars per hour profit Wait, would say that again 6.7 million dollars per hour. Wait, would you say that again? $6.7 million per hour. It's a pretty good hourly rate. Yeah, that's pretty fantastical. That's what we got to start charging.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Yeah, and the Biden administration, guess what they're going to do about it. Nothing? That's right, nothing. Ask him some questions. No, why? To tweet. You know why? Why? Because they can't, because this is the system we got. Not. No, why? Tweet. You know why? Why? Because they can't because this is the system we got
Starting point is 00:35:06 Not necessarily true, right? So X on So they made all these profits while incurring a 1.3 billion dollar hit to its fourth quarter earnings from the EU windfall tax Well, that that just took place in the final quarter So we've been talking about when Fall attacks is here, the EU is instituting these things. I think Exxon is suing them and saying they don't have the authority to do it.
Starting point is 00:35:32 We'll see how it goes. What? It's not going to happen here. Probably not. They didn't do anything nefarious necessarily. There's like, what are you going to prove, US government? They are a company. They were doing, they were following the law law and consumers need their oil and gas.
Starting point is 00:35:49 No, no, this is not, it's not an aferious tax. It's not like you did crime. No, I know. But like, that's the thing is this is America. This is the system that we've got. You can't just, the government can't just say, Hey, you made so much money. Yeah, they can. And we've done it before.
Starting point is 00:36:04 We've had windfall taxes in this country. On who? Google windfall taxes. It's happened many times. Really? Yeah. Well, I sit corrected. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Yeah, you do. I humbled myself before you humbled me. Windfall tax in the US. Oh, on the oil of the President Jimmy Carter, the federal government enacted a windfall profit tax on the American oil industry and in response to skyrocketing gas prices in recent irregularities. Yeah, see, we've done it before. I don't know why you think that we can't do it.
Starting point is 00:36:36 That's not the only example. It's happened, it's happened a bunch. It's a, I mean, that's the fucking problem in this country. There are a lot of things that we've done that, like many times in the past that people just can't fathom. I mean, huge corporate tax rates. I mean, the corporate tax rate has not always been this low. People act like, oh, we couldn't do that.
Starting point is 00:36:56 And then, you know, anytime there's even a inkling that the corporate tax rate may raise, they send lobbyists down, everyone, they go on full defense, they go, you'll ruin the economy, you'll tank the economy, you'll all be out of work if that happens. Yeah. It's gonna have an opposite effect that you think it will.
Starting point is 00:37:14 The surviving Koch brother will not see this injustice stand. Sure. He's got billions of dollars to protect from the liberal agenda. Yeah, socialist communist agenda. But it's, yeah, I don't know. It's important that people know that these things are possible, have been done before. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Well, I did not know that. I thought that it was entirely impossible and just something that has been talked about and thrown around and bandied about. It's only impossible when you have feckless cowards in office with no real political yeah, that is true. This George Santos guy, he's going to save us. Yeah, I don't, I don't know what's going on with him. I don't you know what's going on with him.
Starting point is 00:37:58 He's gotten getting caught in a bunch of lies. Yeah, yeah. He just stepped down from his, uh, his advisory positions, because he said, I don't want to, his committee positions. I don't want to, I don't want this media circus to affect my work. Blow me. Blow me, sir. Hey, George Santos, fucking blow me, sir. Who's that? I don't know Jack. Nichols. Yeah. Jack Nichols. Hey, exon. Hey, exon. Mova, why don't you fuck off with those fucking profits? Also, speaking of
Starting point is 00:38:34 things, why don't you give me a little break at the gas pump? Speaking of things that can be done and not that crazy. Uh-huh. Like, you know, stock buybacks, they used to be illegal. I did not know that. I did not know that they used to be illegal. And if you just had to guess, when they became legal, I bet you could, I bet- It's a thousand eight.
Starting point is 00:38:57 No, way earlier. Yeah, but it, don't get- Nine eleven. No. You can always trace it back to Reagan. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, when he let the bull loose. 1982. Yeah. Is that when he said the SEC started allowing buybacks?
Starting point is 00:39:16 Yeah. But what did he say? He specifically said like, I'm turning the bull. Let's turn the bull loose. Gorbachev, turn this bull loose. Turn this bull, eh, well, loose. But yeah, they were illegal because it was, looked at his blatant market manipulation.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Sure. Right. I mean, all these things, I don't, everyone acts like these things have just been in place for... AHHHHH! It's just the way it's always been done. Yeah. No, no, no, no. They got to figure out a way to pump it ever higher. I can't wait to see what they come up with next so that I can sit in disbelief
Starting point is 00:39:51 and watch as it unfolds before my very skeptical eyes. Also, can you check that 1982? I don't want to just throw that data from wrong, but yeah, let's see. It's I know you're wrong. You got to smoke a cigarette. For those reasons, buybacks were illegal until 1982. The Securities and Exchange Commission lifted that prohibition after reasoning that companies needed to repurchase shares for legitimate reasons.
Starting point is 00:40:14 For legitimate reasons. I mean, yeah, Mr. President, we've got very legitimate reasons for wanting to buy these back. Sometimes that's, uh, that's all the companies got. They allow corporations more leverage in the market by holding on to equity and creating artificial demand for their shares. Yeah, it was a favorite tool among companies
Starting point is 00:40:37 to juice their share prices over the last decade. It was like every quarter. Hey, we're doing a share buy back too. I mean, depending on how you talk to you, that's a legitimate reason, right? Yeah, one of my favorite companies that I'm invested in is just authorized a humble $50 million share rebuyback program.
Starting point is 00:40:55 That I'm like, yeah, okay, good, that's good. Because they've done everything that they've hired, plenty of people, their problem a few quarters ago was they could not find enough people to hire. And then they finally, they rounded it out and they're like, okay, we believe that we are undervalued. We're going to put our money where our mouth is. Buy back some of our own shares because we think this shit's undervalued.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And I'm like, oh yeah, you do, dude. Get out there. There you go. Make those farm ag equipment chassis. That's what they make. Interesting. Riveting stuff. Yeah, I like that you're at home like,
Starting point is 00:41:31 God, this chassis man, they're so undervalued. I can check. They are undervalued. Look at the curves on that chassis. Look at that thing. John Dearing got shit on this sexy baby. Oh man, should we just jump? So, oh yeah, let's talk
Starting point is 00:41:45 about these CEO's getting pay cuts. Well, that is one of the things you were talking about was was the wage growth, right? There's starting to see it come down. Well, while you pull it up, I'll just, we'll just highlight some of these. Goldman Sach CEO David Solomon is getting a 29% pay cut to $25 million after a tough year. Morgan Stanley CEO is getting his payard paid drop by 10% to 31 and a half million. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, Tim Apple, he requested and received a 40% pay cut after a shareholder vote. I mean, for Apple, that's a fucking drop in the bucket.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Sundar Pishai, the Google CEO is taking less money this year. Also, Jamie Diamond, also is going to be making less money. Yeah, so that's some of the good news, right? With all with this environment, there's been a lot of, a lot of CEOs taking haircuts. Also, some of the other really good news is, uh, I believe this is from the Wall Street Journal. The really good news is a story at the bottom of the job market. The bottom 10th of workers' other pay increase by just under 10% and inflation adjusted raise of almost 3%. Weakly pay for young workers between 16 and 24 years of age
Starting point is 00:43:09 also increased by about 10% and the median wage increased for African-American workers employed full-time was over 11%. These gains in the worst off segments of the workforce are one of the benefits of the tight labor market with the Fed. So, but that's kind of the problem, right? If the Fed. Yeah. So, but that's kind of the problem, right? If the Fed keeps going. What's the, isn't there, is it just in California, or is it nationwide the fast food getting the wage raised to 22 an hour? And like Chipotle and McDonald's and shit are lobbying to put a stop to that.
Starting point is 00:43:43 I think it might be just California. I know that some, I know there was a big push to get the minimum wage in California in my tire. Yeah, but I don't think it was just fast food workers, but I'm sure fast food companies were lobbying against that. Yeah, talking about how they'd destroy the economy. Oh yeah, I mean, do you really want to pay more money for Burrito? She probably sucks.
Starting point is 00:44:06 The meat looks good, but then you taste it, and it's just flavorless. I don't remember last time I had Chipotle. It sucks, dude. Don't, just don't, don't. Don't? Yeah, you don't need it. Isn't it owned by a weird company now?
Starting point is 00:44:21 No, there's still, I don't know. But I mean, it's still its own stock, ticker symbol CMG. Give me a stock, I'll tell you the ticker symbol. I'm that good. Uh, well I gotta think of an obscure one. Oh yeah, come on baby. Times of ticking.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Boy, he's really good at this. IBM. I'm very, very good. Alright, so the other big thing this, let's shift gears. The other big thing this week and has ongoing his AI, man. This AI shit. I'll tell you what. What? Tell me what. I am tell you what? What? Tell me what.
Starting point is 00:45:06 I am surprised at how quickly this is ramping up. Yeah. Yeah. I thought it was gonna be a fun story for about five years. What? A fun story for about, I thought you were gonna say five minutes. No, no, no, like, yeah, every couple of months there's gonna be like, look, we made them do a yeah but
Starting point is 00:45:27 The speed at which these things are happening. Yeah Well, you know that it's it's catching on when you get a bunch of Trader junkies chasing every last fucking stock that either mentions AI or has AI in their fucking name. So Buzzfeed, I'm sure you guys saw the headline. It was a double whammy. So Buzzfeed or Triple Whammy, Buzzfeed's stock was in the shitter and then they announced
Starting point is 00:45:58 that meta is gonna be paying them millions of dollars to create content. And then also Buzzfeed said that they're to start utilizing chat GPT to make content. Yeah. And listicles. Quizzes. It doesn't even matter how that might affect the bottom line because all people see right now is AI and the headline, Meta's scooping into to give them millions of dollars and
Starting point is 00:46:24 boom, that was enough to cause it to jump from Jesus. It kind of makes sense, right? They've been struggling forever. They haven't actually. They've been like, not consistently growing, but they've been growing. It's just that they're not, the ship has sailed for them to be, I think, worse what they once were, which was like $1.2 billion.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Well, I mean, if you're not our age, it's probably hard to remember, but they were the internet for a while. It was just, BuzzFeed was everything. Yeah. It was kind of a weird internet hub, where everything kind of started, means, and... Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:00 And then they got into journalism, and they were doing stories. It was, and they just had a huge workforce. I mean, on Twitter, you could click on anyone that it would just say, a bus feed writer, Balala. Everyone fucking worked at bus feed. I did. You worked at bus feed.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Yeah, that's true. It's a cool job. It's a good place to work. But I don't think it's just everything is so much more segmented now. They're never going to become that again. No. Sure, they're chasing that. And it's funny. They're partnering with Facebook who was, you know, before that was the internet as well. I mean, everything started there. Yeah. I'm curious to see if the removing the human element from some of this shit because honestly,
Starting point is 00:47:40 like not to make a dig. I mean, I'm digging at what I kind of used to do, but like Like not to make a dig, I mean I'm digging at what I kind of used to do but like Some of the stuff you could just make on autopilot. You're just making this shit and the quizzes is a Yeah, it's yeah, who's also are people taking those I have no fucking clue. I thought it was kind of a fun thing in 2010 yeah, who which sex in the city lady are you all and, and then they started getting weirdly obscure. Like, which fucking, which New York pizza place that this is supposed to village are you? It was community. I got raised.
Starting point is 00:48:12 It was community driven too. So like anybody could create an account and make one, but it didn't mean that it was gonna be at the top of the building. But they very quickly ran through to highlight characters. Yes. New girl character.
Starting point is 00:48:25 It's the princess. Which friends guy are you? I'm like, could I you be any more, Ross? I know what you did there. I get it. You probably pissed off some people in there out there, but just losing their minds. Does he not realize? I think that, yeah, them using AI will work.
Starting point is 00:48:44 It's just because they've probably already been doing it in behind the scenes. Yeah, actually, if you could pull it up real quick, I know Katie and the topless was talking about it. Oh yeah, Katie and the topless who is a she works the bus. Yeah, she's worked there for a long time. And while we're pulling that up, she has a tweet about it, I just want to know what she's at. Fun fact, Disney offered to buy Buzzfeedeed at their height for like $750 million or something like that. And John Peretti said no.
Starting point is 00:49:09 God. And John Steinberg, who was the president of the company at the time, was like, please just fucking do it. Cause he would have made $100 million. So pissed. I think so mad that he ended up leaving the company and then started cheddar that like millennial news media company
Starting point is 00:49:28 and then sold that to, I don't know who, but he ended up. I don't even remember that. Yeah, it was a thing and he made tens of millions of dollars. Good for him. He ended up getting his bag. Yeah, where is this tweet? I think at the risk of sounding like a sim for my employer gross Ick the cringe of over explaining the nuances of Buzzfeed quizzes
Starting point is 00:49:49 I feel compelled to tweet about some misunderstanding about Buzzfeed using chat gpt the main thing is The idea isn't to replace human writers The idea isn't to use a on on AI on familiar quiz formats like a personality quiz, what cheese are you? Only humans can write successfully make these and they already do for free as explained here in my opinion, everyone quoted as a genius. Rather, there's new formats that can only work if AI powered. You can write prompts for infinite unique responses. Essentially, humans can write quizzes that have AI-generated results.
Starting point is 00:50:26 There are a lot of fun possibilities. Keep in mind, most of the quizzes are already written by teenager community members. For fun, for free, this isn't some genius cost-cutting measure. No one tell Wall Street this, don't wanna fuck up the stock bump. Interesting. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:40 So, like we said, it remains to be seen. But what did that do? AI stocks absolutely fucking ripped, including, and especially the ticker, AI. C3 AI ripped from, like, I think it more than doubled. And then, UI path, whose ticker symbol is path, I was in on that one. That one ripped quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:51:11 And then you had a bunch of Nvidia, I believe, said that they're going to be a huge beneficiary of AI because, I mean, you got to have computing power and that comes from chips. I think I was reading that a city bank analyst expected that chat GPT growth alone could add three to $11 billion in sales in just a year for Nvidia. Christ. Yeah, this AI shit man. And then you wanted to show me, what is this? Okay, so they're not only coming for, you know, they're coming for all your jobs, okay?
Starting point is 00:51:40 We're not gonna need musicians anymore. So Google, they have a new AI that they can take. So let's say Google researchers have made an AI that can generate minutes long musical pieces from text prompts and can even transform a whistled or hum's melody into other instruments. But it's not, they've only got it internally. So yeah, we can't play with it.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Fuck, but the model's called music LM. They've got different kind of like, yeah, that one might work. Yeah, so they've got They've been releasing songs wouldn't be funny if the AI wasn't actually making it was just some shitty Some engineer man like if people like this, I'm gonna reveal that it was me or like if people like this I'm gonna reveal that it was me and I'm huge. Or they're just pissed that no one's talking about their eyes so they're like come on, wow release some fucking music. It couldn't release it in a higher fucking bitrate quality, Jesus. So that's the vocals. So they said it can simulate human vocals but it's not
Starting point is 00:52:44 That's the vocal so they said it can simulate how yeah human vocals, but it's not It's not quite there There's another one I put it That's what that's what you sound like Google AI computer voice Let's play. I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop. What the fuck? As soon as crypto starts ripping again, because of these fucking music coins, because of J-Powell, Miami is gonna be full,
Starting point is 00:53:34 and the club is gonna be playing Google AI generated. I'll wait one more time. Gag, gag, gag, gag. And then just picture a club full of crypto bros. Dad, back, stop, no, we don't mind each other. Yeah, cuz if I'm not so new, but I'm not so new, I'm not so new, And then just picture a club full of crypto bros Sound like a Vici Or no, that's the dead one who's the guy who said shout out to George Floyd. Oh, Tiesto. Tiesto. Yeah. Sounds like, I bet they put in, make a club rager from Tiesto in the style Tiesto. Yeah, but they've got all kinds.
Starting point is 00:54:12 That's the thing. They were doing, you know, make a, there's a lot of reggae. Maybe because it's very just, blink, blink. Yeah. The up. You don't want to confuse the AI AI yeah the machine the new AI man But yeah, that one sounded like a a Euro trash club thing that I just imagine a guy with like a tan and short blonde here Some German guy hitting on your girlfriend and then
Starting point is 00:54:41 Making you feel like a clown and then eventually... You get mad. Yeah, and then calling your girlfriend a bitch. Wow, you seem like a bitch. Wow, this is very specific. No, it's not that specific. Does something happen here? No. When you were in Spain. I did when I was in Spain when I was a teenager.
Starting point is 00:54:56 I did have a guy headbutt me one time. And I did not know what to do, so I left. Damn, just wait till he fucking gets his Brazilian Giu-Gitsu. Yeah, well that was when I weighed like 160 pounds. Damn, 6'3, 160. Yeah, man, I was a skinny boy. And I'm 40 pounds heavier. I wish that guy would come headbutt me again.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Just fucking try. I swear to God, ask me for a lighter again and then take it. Yeah, and then... Well, I'm trying to enjoy the AI generated beats. Rats are suffocating! Yeah, I'm not. Not pal. Not well, pal not well. Tell us how it is on Don't even ah Man, I just love the aggression in that AI voice
Starting point is 00:55:35 Flash it up. Can we play it one more time? Wait, wait, let me Try I can't possibly talk it up because it's just immediately Yeah, go for it. I do like it. Yeah. It's pretty good. But they're only going to get better. Yeah, give them a chance.
Starting point is 00:56:03 And they're going to remember we made fun of them. Yeah. And we're gonna be waiting in line in Berlin to get in to see the computer. And some AI bodyguards can be like, no, no, no, no, no. You can't come in. You trash the AI. You can't, I have it in my records.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Yeah, dust, funky beats. You know who did the, this kind of music the best? Craft work. I mean, they are like, they invented techno music. Yeah, yeah. Fuck man, love craft work. You know what, we're gonna listen to some craft work to kick off after hours.
Starting point is 00:56:36 You know what else we're gonna be talking about in after hours. The final 747. And other things. Oh, man, we did get to fucking Mr. Beast. Should we do it? Yeah, we got time. We got time.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Hey, Mr. Beast, you're giving everybody the he be G. B's dude. And I think I know why it's because you don't know how to smile. No, I don't think that. Yeah, I think that that's it. He said he's going to run for president. Well, he asked he put out a poll. Would you over me if I ran for president? Yes or no? And he's got 70% of the why? What sparked all this?
Starting point is 00:57:12 People got people got annoyed. Not annoyed. I would say the reactions weirded out were a bit unfair. Yeah. People were very mad at seeing his recent video where he cures people's blindness. I mean, I mean, what do you want? It's it. So I think the problem is, I mean, this is what I was talking about, right? When we were talking about him going public with his company a few weeks ago, I was saying, I don't love this genre, you know, I hate, I don't like game shows where they give you the whole story about, and then they make this like poor family compete so they can pay their rent or whatever. I don't love that. And it kind of falls into that where he's like, I'm changing people's lives by making him stay in circles or doing a literal squid games
Starting point is 00:58:06 Uh And so Yeah, it is weird. I mean We were talking about just the thumbnail alone thumbnail is so fucking you know, he's got let's pull it up He's got a kid going literally doing YouTube face. Yes with like weird fake tears coming under the assumption that he had just been cured with blinded. And Mr. Beast has his arm around him like some sort of creep. Fucking he looks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:35 Look at how he smiles, man. He looks like a a bar mitzvah boy taking his bar mitzvah pictures and he doesn't know how to. He hasn't fully. He hasn't grown up yet. He's just like he's smiling. He doesn't oh God. Right. And so Jesus Christ. I do think the hostility is a little misdirected right? Sure. He's you know, a thousand people can now see that couldn't before. I think the I think people are just pissed that he doesn't quite focus. There's not much of a focus on the fact that he's able to do this because of an
Starting point is 00:59:13 inexploitative system. Yeah, I think where because the reason people are so easily to be able to, it's like a 10 minute surgery, right? And... And Lacy? No, I don't know what they're doing. I think it's cataract surgery. And so it's a pretty simple surgery. And I guess he even has the doctor on who... He's a big advocate for getting people to surgery because it can change people's lives with a very simple procedure. But there's not a big focus on...
Starting point is 00:59:46 Why we're in this situation. It's the focus always seems to be on Mr. Beast doing a good thing. Yeah, which, hey, great, do good things. I don't know. I don't know where to start with Mr. Beast. Is it his haircut? Is it his beard? Is it the way he talks? Is it his smile? Here's our all very surface. Is it his name? Mr. Beast? It just doesn't fit, man. The rock should be called, that should be a nickname for the rock, Mr. Beast. This guy looks like his name, Jimmy. Go by Jimmy, Mr. Jimmy.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Yeah, but how about the stuff? Oh, yeah, sure, that stuff. Whatever. No, no, go. Yeah, it's, are you saying that there's, we're not paying enough attention to why so many people are susceptible to cataracts? No, I'm saying, I think that's people's problem
Starting point is 01:00:37 with the video, is that he, yeah, do I, I don't know, is that he's exploiting these? Yeah, it feels, I think, because people, people, people were quote to me and going, this is very gross. It's very, it's hard to, it's hard to, it does feel weird because it's a symptom of the system that we're in and it's, it's him. I don't have a problem with it necessarily because it's like people have pointed out. Right, Mr. Beast did not create this problem.
Starting point is 01:01:05 And also he is objectively doing something good. And it's like a, it's a cycle. He needs views to generate money to make videos like this to help people out to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I get that and I have no problem with that. It's just the, the Iq factor for me is that fucking thumbnail and him making. Did you watch the video? No, of course not. I never watched a full Mr. Beast video. I watched it just because I was curious.
Starting point is 01:01:31 And there is, I think it's eight minutes long and there is not. That's it? Yeah, wow. There's not a big... I got a time for that. The focus is on, you know, the people seeing Mr. Beast and saying, you know, thank you for doing this and him, and then he gives some people $10,000 and he gives one guy $50,000.
Starting point is 01:01:47 I think he gives one kid a Tesla because he couldn't drive before. Yeah. Gotta get it off that island though. Didn't they go to Barbados or something? Where'd they go? Well, he did some in America and then, right, there's even less availability of this procedure in other countries. It is weird, but it's...
Starting point is 01:02:07 I'm a bad person to judge, because I don't know if you remember, there was a very, I think it was short-lived. There was a game show where they would... You would compete to have your student loans paid off. Was this recent? It was within the past decade, I think. Okay. And someone suggested me for it, I guess.
Starting point is 01:02:32 I don't, I think he knew one of the producers or whatever. Yeah. And they called me and I did a little intake thing. Yeah. And I couldn't help myself. I was like, I don't know, this all feels very gross. And it's, you know, you guys are profiting off of this system just as much. And-
Starting point is 01:02:48 Hey, no, I'll just paint off. And, uh, oh yeah, that sucks me. I told them I didn't want to do it. I was like, this is gross. I don't want to take part in your- Yeah, in your weird little game show where I have to fucking- Also, and then I watched it. It's not even that hard.
Starting point is 01:03:03 I was like, damn, I could have, I'm'm an idiot I could have paid off a lot of my loans You probably got to pay taxes on the money that they give you to pay off your student loan Sure, the states are already trying to Tax people for whatever Joe Biden is going to be nice don't like cross man But still probably should have just done it right Yeah, oh true TV, but it feels shitty. You're like I don't want to be I don't want to be a little prop for this Horrible system we've built. What do you think mr. Beast is gonna do next because it feels like we're at peak mr. Beast
Starting point is 01:03:47 Truly like if he was gonna go public he should do it now and not wait because I think he's very quickly gonna run into everybody loves you and then suddenly everybody's over it. I don't think he's, I think there's a lot of people making it, but if you click on his tweets and stuff, you know, all the top things are people going, you know, don't listen to the haters, you're fucking like, and it's just everyone going like we love you we love what you're doing he I think it's a small I don't think there's that many people out there okay outside of Twitter of all the minority oh for sure I think most people I mean I'm surprised to even comments on it that's what's funny too he so his reaction I think the first thing he tweeted was basically oh yeah I guess this one but there was one where he tweeted about
Starting point is 01:04:37 You know the government should be doing this. He doesn't know why oh yeah, I don't understand why curable blindness is a thing Why don't government step in and help even if you're thinking purely from a financial standpoint? It's hard to see how they don't ROI on tax. Yeah, ROI on taxes from people being able to work again. But like the video doesn't really focus on that. And so it's kind of after the fact. But and then he was like, you know what, fuck it, do you guys want me to be president? I think. God, that'd be fun.
Starting point is 01:04:58 That'd be fun. I think that pissed me off more than anything. The, because I think we're all tired of celebrity politicians. Oh yeah. Oh, I got a, I got a Trump video for you in the, uh, after hours. I think the last thing I want to see is people being like, I would vote for Jimmy. I would vote for Jimmy Beast. A vote for Jimmy is a vote for every kid getting cataracts. That's his only thing though.
Starting point is 01:05:22 The only platform he's really going to be like I'm gonna I guess that's the big problem of blindness. We need more people to work They got to be able to see to do their taxes. This is going pay for I'm a single issue candidate. All right. We got to fix these cataracts. Yeah, and everyone's like now what sir I guess Everybody gets a free mr. Beastburger And you're like, ah, snow. God, I just can't imagine him fucking.
Starting point is 01:05:50 I tweeted it the other day, because you can't do it. You can't imagine him having sex. I'll say this, I feel like you say this about a lot of people. Sure. But I can't imagine most, like, I can't imagine you having sex.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Come on, dude. Of course you can. I can't. Yeah, you can't I can't look at me Yeah, you can like whenever you're around like a married couple. Mm-hmm try to go. Oh, I thought you meant whenever I'm specifically around a married couple Whenever bangs around a married couple. I'm like nah, he can't fuck. Yeah, okay, whenever I'm around a married couple. Like your friends, go try it, you can't picture them fuck. Yeah, you're right. I'm like, you guys are too polite to suck you each other off. Right, sex is the grossest thing in the world.
Starting point is 01:06:36 No vomiting is. Not the way I'm doing this. And a baby like pissing in your mouth when it changes a little diaper and it pisses in your mouth. Oh, okay, coming up next time after. We're gonna think about people having sex. We're gonna debate who's the,
Starting point is 01:06:55 who is having sex. We're gonna debate who's the easiest to picture having sex. Yeah, it's gonna, definitely me at number one. All right, oh. Try to picture yourself having sex. Yeah, it's good. It's definitely me at number one. All right. Oh, try picture yourself having sex. Yeah, it's awesome. Yeah. Nice. Hi, five of myself.
Starting point is 01:07:14 I guess that's a stupid one, but. Yeah, that's pretty stupid. Picture, picture anyone having sex that you know. Okay. All right, good job. Really? Who were you picturing? You, dude. Thank you. All right, good job. Really? Who were you picturing? You, dude.
Starting point is 01:07:27 Thank you. All right, was it cool? Yeah, I was picturing you fucking a guy and I was like, damn good for him. Was I doing the Patrick Bateman? No, the other guy was. Damn it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:39 Was I doing it? And you were going, wow. Was I doing it? Don't you stare at it, Sabrina? Eat it. Yes. Great, yeah. Wow, what was I doing? Don't just stare at it Sabrina eat it Yes, great. Yeah, um, okay. Well that about does it for this episode of Trillian your mindset Love you very much I
Starting point is 01:08:01 Like you a lot But I think this might be too. I do like you a lot. I think you're a great person. This is how he does it. What, when I get nervous? No, no, when you break up with someone. Oh, look, I just feel like... I gotta go.
Starting point is 01:08:19 I don't know. I like you. Let's not make it weird than it has to be. You're making it weird. No, that's okay. You're right All right, well, I had fun while it lasted. I Also enjoyed some aspects of this What did you say? Nothing I gotta go. No, I'm not even upset
Starting point is 01:08:39 And don't text me. I don't want to okay. I don't want to drag it out.
