Starting point is 00:00:00 Taylor Swift is overrated. Ooh! She's got to be one of the most famous singers right now. Engagement rings are scam. Yes. I know you're gonna say that. Dropping a lot of the money in your mechanical ring, stupid. Going into debt.
Starting point is 00:00:12 You know what? Actually sexy, financial stability. The drinking age should be 18. If you can serve... That is actually true. If you can serve in the military, you should be able to drink. Women should get paid time off for their periods. Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:22 You take that one. I love it when my husband reminds me, my intense emotions might be hormonal. Oh! Oh! This episode is sponsored by Rocket Money. What's up dudes! And welcome back to the Oh Planned Podcast!
Starting point is 00:00:36 Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Today we're talking about hot takes. Hot takes. Do you have any hot takes right off the top of your head? I don't like bangs. I think anybody that gets bangs. Oh, why was my head automatically going to the energy drink?
Starting point is 00:00:48 No, no. I think you do like them. I'm talking about the haircut. Unless it's like a little girl, I think it's super cute. But I feel like anybody that looks good with bangs looks better without them. Yeah, that is Matt's hot take. I feel like as soon as, if I were to come home with bangs, what would your reaction be?
Starting point is 00:01:06 I mean look if you if you really wanted to get bangs, it's your hair You do it every want, but I don't know. I just I just don't think what it's kind of like this is the other thing guys with long hair If a guy looks good with long hair, they look better with short hair Like even isn't it Liam Pemphorth who played like Thor in the in the Marvel movies? He is a very attractive man. He ended up looking even more attractive when he cut his hair. And I feel like it's the same thing with bangs and women, you know?
Starting point is 00:01:34 If they just, if they did it, they did the bangs. But what do you think about curtain bangs, like the new trend, do you know what curtain bangs are? You show me a picture. Yeah, I'll show you a picture. Okay. Also, I feel the strong urge right now to give a disclaimer because I do not want to upset anybody. I know. Disclaimer. This is all just for fun. This is for fun. And honestly, why do you even... You shouldn't
Starting point is 00:01:53 care what our opinion is on these things. We're nobody. And guess what? If you disagree with us, we can still be friends. You can have a completely different hot take than us and we would so want to be your friend. Matt's friends are the lot of people that have things. I think it's really fun to be friends of people that have completely different thoughts and opinions and viewpoints to yourself. No, Matt, that's actually a hot take of mine. What?
Starting point is 00:02:11 I think that we should all disagree a little bit more and learn to be okay with it. Yes, I love that. Yeah. I think it's toxic when everybody has to fall into the same thing. This group think mentality, I think it's really dangerous. And if it's like, oh, you have to be a part of,
Starting point is 00:02:28 there's like, there's a right way and there's a wrong way, I think that's a really dangerous mentality to have. Well, it's also just dangerous to hate people just because you disagree on something. Ooh, that's good. Like I think it's really powerful. Like we have people in our lives. It's like, we have pretty opposing opinions
Starting point is 00:02:44 on hot topics. And it does not make me dislike them anymore. It actually makes me really happy to be friends with them and be close with them because I'm like, we can have healthy discord where we're not just like gassing up each other's viewpoints. And it's really healthy because it makes you question, okay, why do I think the way I think?
Starting point is 00:03:02 And then it also makes us find a common ground on people that we would think would be totally opposite as us. And I think that's what we need so much more in the world. It's getting uglier and uglier I feel like, where it's like, you just think people that think differently than you are evil. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:17 And that's just really not a good ecosystem. I really appreciate it too when somebody who has an opposing viewpoint to me on any topic whatsoever, when they have some sort of reasoning to back it up Because if you're just gonna have a strong opinion on whatever the thing is and not have any sort of reason It's like why it's it's clear that you're just following a group think mentality unless you can back up what you believe or What you think with valid, you know logic and reasoning reasoning. So that's my take. So we asked you guys on the podcast Instagram to send in your hot takes.
Starting point is 00:03:49 And we're gonna give our two cents on them. This one is starting off very strong. This person says Taylor Swift is overrated. Ooh, okay. What are your thoughts on that? See, I'm afraid to even get close to the Swiftie cult. Is what I wanna say about you. I don't know the fandom.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Okay. Because I feel like I missed the train. Like everyone got on the Taylor Swift train several years back. She's been around for so long. And it's like I've never been the fan girl type for literally anybody. I don't know why. I just never, I kind of wanted to be a fan girl. I think I told you like growing up, I was like,
Starting point is 00:04:26 man, when everyone was picking a Jonas brother, that was like their favorite. I remember being like, I just, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, no offense to the Jonas brothers. I just was never a fan girl type. Like I wanted to love Troy Bolton, like as much as my friends did.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I wanted to love Jesse Muir. Just not a fan girl, but I will say the Swiftie fandom seems to be a very inclusive. Like everyone has been like, no, you can come be a Swiftie now. to be a very inclusive like everyone has been like no you can come be as Swiftie now really yeah, maybe that's just Bella. That's awesome. Yeah, maybe that was a star friend Bella But they all give out friendship bracelets at the concert But that's actually so cute. I love that. I know it's like I want to be as wifty But I just miss the train. I kind of want to go it's been hyped up so much
Starting point is 00:05:01 I kind of want to go experience the concert myself. I know now. Can we fly to like Germany or wherever it's going to go? Like I think they've extended the tour now. We've, everyone was going to the concert and their first stop was in Phoenix where we live. Yeah. And we were like, wait, how did you guys all know there was a concert here? Like, how do people know when concerts are coming? Like I feel like they just come to your town and I'm just like, oh man, you're here and gone so fast. I don't know. I feel like the marketing behind her tour and her brand, like all that has been so good.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I think she's just a really smart woman. I think she really knows what she's doing and she's really put in the work over the years. So I think there's reason that she has such a dedicated fan base because she's been, you know, she's been grindin' making this music and touring and perfecting her rap. She works so hard.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Oh yeah. So I don't think she's overrated. I think she works extremely hard and she has created a whole I will say this though Bear with me for a second in the finance terminology, but like if you invest money early Over time with compound interest it like grows and grows and like eventually it doubles and then that money doubles and that money And so like you have this like snowball effect with investing. I feel like Careers have that same effect so I think since Taylor Swift has been at it for so long,
Starting point is 00:06:07 and she's gotten so freaking good at what she does, and she's just gained more of a falling as she's gone further and further into her career, I think she's had this snowball effect to where, maybe she is a little overhyped because she has so much attention on her, but I think it's all deserved. She's got to be one of the most famous singers right now.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Yeah, oh my gosh, her concert. She's more than a singer though, I feel like she's like, and look, everyone's talking about it, like we're talking about her right now, right? This one says engagement rings are scam. Yes, I know you're gonna say that. Okay, do you wanna talk on this one or me? I mean, we can both chat about it,
Starting point is 00:06:45 but my ring is not a real diamond. It's fake. And I feel like nowadays, though, people are moving away to different types of gemstones, but especially for our parents age, I feel like that was when the diamond is forever campaign was the biggest. Your engagement ring is just a symbolism.
Starting point is 00:07:03 It's nothing like, I don't know, I think people put too much into it where it's like, this is a man proving that he can provide for you. So he needs to like get an expensive fat ring. It's like, no. Like, you know what's actually sexy? It's financial stability.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Who ya? I mean, I thought like going into a debt for a ring, stupid. Dropping a lot of the money in your bank account on a ring, stupid. Taking the money that you would have spent on a ring and putting it into a house or putting it into an investment or making some other financially worth maybe using a torture education, you know?
Starting point is 00:07:34 There's a lot of good stuff. But what about even just a really fun honeymoon? There you go. There you go. There you go. And you're not just wearing it on your finger because you could lose it like I did. I've read somewhere that engagement rings actually drop down in value faster than anything.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Like you buy that thing and then the value immediately, it just goes away, because nobody wants to buy an engagement ring from someone that like their marriage didn't work out, or they're engaged in the world. No, because it kind of feels cursed. Exactly. And that's why I actually thought about buying your ring,
Starting point is 00:08:01 initially at a pawn shop, and then I was like, you know what, maybe we should just get a fake ring, like a fake diamond and it'll be ours and it'll be new. It won't have that weird feeling of like, oh, this is somebody else. Yeah, that does. I see, even I do kind of feel like I wouldn't want a pawn shop ring just because I'd be like a little bit stitious. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:19 But it's just not a good investment. And so you want to put your money in something that's a better investment for you and your family. But I also do think there's something to say for just like doing something not logical just for the sake of romance, if that's what you wanna do. But I do think engagement rings are a scam. I wanna show your ring to everybody.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Wow, it's like stuck on your finger right now. Don't make me panic. Okay. Is it still a little? Is this gonna come off or like what's going on? My whole finger might, oh my gosh. Okay, sorry, sorry. It looks beautiful.
Starting point is 00:08:45 So fun fact. Remember, wait, we remember when I got size at the jewelry and they said, oh, you're pretty nuckily. I didn't know they said that. Like my, I guess I have big knuckles. Okay, Moisonite is actually sparklier than a diamond fun fact.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And so that's all so far the reason why we got this one here. You talk while I show the ring. Just so you guys know, this ring was the very first ring that I tried on when Matt and I went to go look for rings. Matt, you have to put your hand behind it. There you go. Yeah, it was the first one I tried on, and I always make the joke that the first ring I tried on
Starting point is 00:09:15 was the perfect one, and the first boyfriend I tried on was the perfect one. Yeah. And I'm a girl who knows what she wants. Let's just say that. Next hot take. This one is Starbucks isn't that good Ooh again very impressive Starbucks they have capitalized on coffee more than any other business in the history of time
Starting point is 00:09:34 They're so the stars program. I don't know how they're so good at it people go there now to buy lemonade It's like no, you know what I got for Griffin at Starbucks? What? This is a special drink that's only 65 cents. And it makes kids think it's so special. What is it? It's a cup, it's ice water, but add strawberries. They're those little freeze-dried strawberries. And the whole drink is pink then. And it has like floating strawberries in it.
Starting point is 00:09:58 And it's literally just, there's not like sugar in it. It's just water. And it's a special little drink for him. See, look at us. we're talking about Starbucks, loving their drinks. They're, they're small here. Mom and dad hack. Okay, I would have said Starbucks was overrated,
Starting point is 00:10:11 which first of all, I would always rather go to like a locally owned mom and pop coffee shop. I would always prefer that. And usually the coffee is always better. Yeah. But if Starbucks is what's available, say you're at an airport, say you're just driving through somewhere really quick Whatever the case may be also Starbucks hours are a lot more flexible than other coffee shops
Starting point is 00:10:31 Their coffee actually is better because we did that pumpkin spice video where we tried every single latte or every single pumpkin spice Lot day Starbucks was by far the best. I don't think good coffee is that hard to make though I think if we wanted to open up a coffee shop, we could easily make a good cup of coffee. And coffee historically was really cheap. Like people would spend just a couple years ago, it was like two bucks on a coffee, you know. And now because of Starbucks, everyone's spending five, ten dollars. That's not your drinking black coffee anymore.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Exactly. And I think they've made, they've really changed the marketing behind coffee and made it really exciting. And they have all these fun flavors and drinks. Almost like crumble has like different flavors all the time with their cookies. Starbucks have the same thing, but with the seasons and all that.
Starting point is 00:11:14 They're smart. They're good at that. I love a good special drink. So I would actually disagree with this hot take. I do think Starbucks is good. They're doing something right. I think they're very good at what they do. This one says low- rise jeans and bell bottoms
Starting point is 00:11:27 should not come back in style. What does that even mean? Low rise jeans. Oh, it doesn't go high up on your belly. Yeah. Interesting. See, pre-baby body, I would have been like, I do like low rise jeans as a petite person
Starting point is 00:11:38 because sometimes I feel like high-waisted jeans cut me off and make you look like SpongeBob Squarepants. Yeah. No, I don't think you look like SpongeBob Squarepants. Yeah. No, I don't think you look like one. I think I love checking you out in jeans and when we went shopping at Hollisery the other day, I was just like blown away with how good you look and all your outfits. I think so. That's actually really fun for me.
Starting point is 00:11:56 I know that's something that you like to do that I don't think most husbands or boyfriends would like you. I just like to watch you try on clothes. I think you look so good. That was a fun little date. It was. We just went to them all and tried on clothes. I got to talk, hang out. We didn't bring any kids with us.
Starting point is 00:12:08 It was like mom and dad time. It was really nice. But I think it's funny how quickly the style changed because I got, I feel like I got made fun of for wearing cargo shorts. Yeah, that was shocked by all the cargo going on. And now we got cargo shorts galore coming back. And pants.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Cargo pants especially are like cool. And I feel like that definitely wasn't cool a couple years ago. Do you like the trend or do you have a hot take about cargo pants? I mean look I can't choose the trends I can't you know force them but I can see how it's how it's cool all the cool. And functional. You go to L.A. We were just in L.A. for our podcast and like I saw people wearing cargo pants everywhere. I'm telling you personally low-rise jeans are no for me I agree with this one. And also bell bottoms, no.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I think being a short girl, bell bottoms also cut me off. I think they're kind of cute though, bell bottoms. I feel like that's kind of like a- I never worn. Is that like a mom pant? Like I feel like you kind of look like a cute mom and you bell bottoms. You think I should get a pair of bell bottoms?
Starting point is 00:12:59 Yeah, maybe. I don't know. Here's the trend that I'm not fully understanding is like the skinny jeans going out because I kind of like skating. They've been out for a while. Really? They've been out for like several years. That's really sad. That's disappointing. I used to love to wear, I actually still have my skinny jeans in my closet. I think I have two pairs. The ones I have a hole in the butt? Yeah, the hole in the butt one. I don't know though because we used them for that photo shoot the other
Starting point is 00:13:22 the other month and the other month. That was like month that was like literally March. Yeah. Time is flying. Do you have your skinny jeans or did you donate those? I do not have a single pair of skinny jeans and maybe one pair. I was getting I don't think I have any skinny jeans. Well we dated which was seven years ago. You wore skinny jeans all the time. Yeah because they were in that. That's probably they were already probably on the way out at that point, honestly. Really? No, I have no idea. I'm not really good with trends. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I'm a big fan of timeless pieces. Nice. This one says, schools are more about passing than learning. I would 100% agree with that. That's why I fell in high school. As a student, I would cram the night before, say, I'm really late in cram study and I'd get an A on the test and I like really didn't retain that information, but I'd pass and I would, I would do well.
Starting point is 00:14:06 So, is this saying like the school system has set it up for that or is it just like how students treat it? Or is the way school systems are set up leading students to treat it that way? It's really hard because I think you need some way of measuring intelligence and measuring all that. And so to measure intelligence, you need to way of measuring intelligence and measuring all that. And so to measure intelligence, you need to have standardized tests and you have the ACT, SAT, all that.
Starting point is 00:14:30 But then it just comes down to really how good of a test taker are you? And not really how intelligent are you? I don't know what a great solution is to that because we talked about that a lot. I was an elementary education major in college and they, like there's qualitative ways to analyze student knowledge of a certain topic like you know projects, speech it you know things like
Starting point is 00:14:54 that, more creative outlets, talks and then there's quantitative which is things that you can reduce down to a number or like a letter grade like an A, B, C. And you really kind of have to have quantitative data to like measure, it's hard. I think so the most. I do kind of agree with that, but it's unfortunate. I think there's a lot of teachers out there that are passionate about getting their students to learn, but it's hard when you're like within the confines of a larger system.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I think the best learning comes with doing. I've never learned more than when I'm actually like trying to accomplish something. And, and, and, and, and, yes, experiential learning, you're correct. I used to do group projects in middle school. I went to like a private middle school
Starting point is 00:15:36 and then a public high school. And I feel like those group projects really taught me a lot about how to see something from start to finish and work as a team and be creative and make a presentation or create some sort of product that you're doing for whatever class you're in. There's so much more that takes place there than actually happens in standardized testing environment. Get this. A cool project I did in high school in my human anatomy and physiology class was
Starting point is 00:16:01 we literally had to build a prosthetic with the correct type of joint, whether it was a ball and socket or hands or whatever. And then we had to present it to a board of local doctors. Wow. It was very stressful for me because I was like, I just want to be an actress, so I'm not sure that I know a little enough. I still, you got to pursue acting, dude. You're such a good actress.
Starting point is 00:16:25 I would recently, now that I'm kind of about getting out of the fog of like new baby, I'm trying to be like, that actually really fun. We interviewed an actress on an upcoming podcast. I know she inspired me. Does she inspire you? She's like still going to be a mom and being an actress on a stage.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Yes, when she was like, I can have it all. Like I was like really inspired by that. Yeah, it's cool. I think I get inspired by people that go against the grain and it's like, yeah, maybe. They make a way for them. You're like, oh, you're a parent. Now, the only thing you can do is be your parent.
Starting point is 00:16:53 And it's like, actually, no, you can be a parent and you can be a business owner or you can be a parent. It can be a good parent. Yeah, exactly. You know. 100%. I feel like it always think you have to give and take
Starting point is 00:17:02 or trade one thing for the other. Totally. Oh, this one is, it's not that have to give and take or I don't trade one thing for the other. Totally. Oh, this one is, it's not that hard to be on time to places. Er, not true. That is not true. It is not true. It is not true. It is not true. It is not true.
Starting point is 00:17:13 It is not true. We very much disagree with that, Taked. Yes. Probably the hardest thing that you can do is be on time. I really hate that we are late people because I want to be so respectful of other people's time, but I just want to say it goes both ways. Like, if people are late for us, we literally do not care at all.
Starting point is 00:17:28 That's right. You're on your own time right now. I think ever since we lived in Hawaii, we got on Hawaii time. And now we're always just, that's how we are. I feel like we actually, since we were like so late and so lenient with time schedules, now we've gotten a little bit more punctual actually
Starting point is 00:17:43 since having kids. Having kids has helped. Because we're like crap, we gotta get back for now. Yeah, it has've gotten a little bit more punctual actually since having kids. Having kids has helped. Because we're like crap we gotta get back for now. Yeah it has helped us a little bit. Because if we need to get our kid down like we've learned like okay you know what we're actually not gonna be on time so let's like give us 15 minutes of margin. Yeah. And then having kids has kind of whipped us into shape. I also have another hot take about kids. What? I think having kids has made us more productive. Uh, really?
Starting point is 00:18:08 Can't be lazy. You think so? You cannot be lazy with kids. I would say it gives life more purpose. Like I feel like- For sure. I feel so happy to be a dad. And I'm just excited to watch these kids grow up
Starting point is 00:18:19 and get to experience their first baseball game and their first day of school and like all these fun memories with them. But I don't, I don't, you think it makes us more productive? I have a million more things in the day now because I literally can't, there's two little people completely fully rely on me.
Starting point is 00:18:35 And my day starts whenever they wake up, usually like 6.30, and then it's a whirlwind till 10.45. It's literally a whirlwind. I cannot even at this point in my life imagine laying down and watching a TV show. I mean, we did do that last night though. For five minutes while I nursed the baby. It was funny.
Starting point is 00:18:54 I like you were nursing and then I like laid in our bed and I was looking at the time on the TV for the show. Yeah, we ended up literally four minutes probably. No, it was either three or four minutes that I got to watch. It's like, finally we like watch our show. We're watching Hercules on Disney+. Our show is like actually Hercules.
Starting point is 00:19:09 We're watching Hercules. And then three minutes later you're like, Matt, can you go watch this, like pump part or something? And I was like, I just got like a solid like three and a half minutes of relaxation watching show. I think that's the thing with kids when you say productive. Maybe you feel more productive, but for me, I think I definitely have less time
Starting point is 00:19:29 to myself for sure. And so if you wanna have time to yourself for like time alone with your partner, you need to plan it. So that will, I will say, it's made me more intentional with my time. For sure. I have limited time in the day.
Starting point is 00:19:42 I need to wake up early, because our kids wake up early. I have to put things on the because our kids wake up early. I have to, you know, put things on the calendar so that they actually happen. And then I- Yes, I was just complimenting you to your mom and grandma about you putting things on the calendar. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I love the calendar now, because I'm just like making sure I prioritize the things that I want to get done and the time I want to have with you and our kids because you need to have it on the calendar. It's not gonna happen. There's just not enough time in the day. This episode is sponsored by Rocket Money.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Hey Matt, did you know that over 80% of people have subscriptions that they don't even know about? Yes, I am. Like me with peacock and do a lingo. But you know what I got to make sure that we don't have subscriptions we don't need? I think I have a good clue. You know what it is?
Starting point is 00:20:21 Who is a Rocket Money? Yes, Abby. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. We got Rocket Money. We got Rocket Money for a while now. We have a good clue. Do you know what it is? Is it rocket money? Yes, savvy. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. We got rocket money. We put a rocket money for a while now. We have, we have. And remember that phone call that we got the other day? It was our security system asking about
Starting point is 00:20:33 like this new price that we could pay for our monthly rate. And we were really confused. I ended up figuring out that rocket money negotiated our monthly rate down by a third. They just did that? We were paying $45 a month for our home security system, and then they dropped it to 30. Because RocketMoney-
Starting point is 00:20:47 How do they even do that? They negotiate it for you. That's so cool. So they can negotiate your phone bill, they can negotiate your internet bill, they can negotiate all that for you. It's been a few months, since I checked up on all of our personal finance stuff,
Starting point is 00:20:58 I need to go back into RocketMoney, because it's good. It lets you know all the subscriptions that you forget about, and then you can cancel them. Yeah, and you can cancel them without having to call and talk to customer service, go to a whole hassle. You just push cancel and then they take care of it for you and cancel it and then that's more money in your pocket, like a rocket. Like a rocket? That was pretty creative
Starting point is 00:21:16 though, you just came up with that. I don't know, but rocket money is a personal finance app that finds and cancels your unwanted subscriptions and monitors your spending and helps lower your bills all in one place. And so they can even make budgets for you. They can suggest budgets. And they'll send you notifications if you've created a budget and you've going over your spending limits.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Stop wasting your money on things you don't use. Cancel your unwanted subscriptions and manage your money the easy way by going to rocketmoney.com slash unplanned. That's rocketmoney.com slash unplanned. Rocketmoney.com slash unplanned. That's rocket money.com slash unplanned. Rocket money.com slash unplanned. Back to the episode. This one right here is very much a hot take.
Starting point is 00:21:51 It says, I love it when my husband reminds me gently that my intense emotions might be hormonal. I don't know. You take that one. I don't know what to say on that one. Hmm. My knee jerk reaction is no. I don't wanna be told that I'm hormonal. But I do think that the approach, say it was like, hey honey, like I can tell that you might be feeling some big emotions right now. And realistically,
Starting point is 00:22:19 I'm thinking that tomorrow, this situation's not gonna make you feel so strongly. Do you think your hormones could be in food? I don't know, I think there's a gentle way that you could kind of maybe nudge that that might be what's causing it. I feel like if I ever would have done that, you would have like slapped me in the face. No, it's because like if the word crazy is ever used, that's gonna be a no. That's gonna be a really big. It's like, oh, you're coming crazy. You wanna see crazy?
Starting point is 00:22:45 I'll show you crazy. But hormonal maybe could be, that could be all right. Because sometimes I'll even tell you, I'm like, I'm dealing with a lot of hormones right now. Like, I'll tell you that. That's true. I guess if you bring it up, then it's okay to talk about that since you're the one that brought it up.
Starting point is 00:22:59 But if that wasn't the case then- I could like it actually. Now, I think this one's on something. If it was gently like, you know, I know that right now is a tough time hormonal for you. I think that could work. That is a hot take though. I bet there's a lot of women who wouldn't like that.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I think you should just be, know your partner. Yeah. And also you can tell your partner's heart behind it when they say it. If they're just using hormonal to be like, put you down, you can tell. Or if they're just like trying to help you work through your experiences you can tell. This one says, Crocs are so overrated. Unless they're on a baby. That's a different story. That's what this person said.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Okay, yeah. On kids so cute. I would agree with this hot take. I do think Crocs are overrated and less they're on babies, then they're underrated. Because if you have a baby with chubby feet, let me tell you, Crocs are the only way to go. I could see my sub wearing some Crocs. You don't think that'd be cool. Dude, if you had Crocs, they would be like boats on your feet.
Starting point is 00:23:57 That is true, they're very wide. They're very chunky shoes. And you have size 12 feet. But we have a chunky kid, so it works out for our kids. Works great for him, but not maybe for you. I do think crocs for adults are overrated I think they look kind of funny on adults and I think that makes it cool But my question is who is hyping up crocs?
Starting point is 00:24:13 They don't really hear a lot of crock hype for adults our friend Kelly likes crocs That's happy Kelly the dancer, but then do they wear them to be ironic or comfort? She probably just makes it speak to the speakers. If they're for comfort then nothing's overrated. Do what you got to do. Did you see Chris on TikTok with the Croc heels? He was like wearing Croc heels the other day. Oh, those are cool.
Starting point is 00:24:33 You think those are cool? They look uncomfortable. Yeah. This one is very vatuhotake. Women should get paid time off for their periods. Wow. I think if they did that for women, I feel like guys would need time off to make equal, right?
Starting point is 00:24:48 Like some sort of like, to be like. Well, they don't have a period. But then like, get it, I understand that. But then if you're working the same job and one person's working more hours than the other person, same work, same pay, like that's what it should be, right? Mm. Hot takes.
Starting point is 00:25:04 This might get tricky though, into like, equality issues. See for me, my periods were never anything intense where I would need time off. Oh, okay. So, I don't know. I do feel terribly for the women that have off periods though, because, like, think about having to deal with that every single month. That would really suck.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Just to be a woman. That would really suck. Oh, yeah, I do think that that one could be a logistical nightmare. This hot take, I know, is gonna get you fired up. I just read it. No shoes in the house. Yes, I completely agree with that. Matt has been telling people in our house to take their shoes off.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Because, okay, I'm sick of our floors being so dirty that when I walk around barefoot, my feet turn black. It is so gross, I'm over it, and then I get in bed at night with black feet. I don't wanna have to wash. It's so much loose dirt in Phoenix, because it's just so dry. No, it's because everyone's wearing shoes in our house.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Nobody doesn't wear shoes. So I have like in fort, now I see people in our house with shoes and might take your shoes off. I like wearing my shoes in our house. What I think is funny is our sister-in-law was told growing up to wear shoes in the house. Like her parents would like yell at her to wear them
Starting point is 00:26:04 because they thought it was like Safer for her toes or something So they would like stuff their toe her dad would say why were you not wearing shoes like what's wrong with you? I was so for her she's always wearing shoes in her house And now she's bringing over slippers Yeah, that was very thoughtful of her. Yeah, she listened to the podcast so she did that. Oh she did that's where she Talk about this on the podcast apparently. Oh my gosh, I forget about half the stuff we said before. Exactly, I say this.
Starting point is 00:26:27 It's dangerous. I know, I'm like, wait, how do you know that about me? And they're like, oh, well, you posted it on the internet. I'm like, oh. When we posted TikTok, I usually watch them a couple times to make sure it's perfect instead. I don't re-watch this ever. I do.
Starting point is 00:26:41 I watch this. It makes me cringe. I watch this back at least once. I can see where people are like oh Abby's voice is so annoying. No, you're right. Okay. Hey, I don't want to listen to a bad is ridiculous Your voice is so sweet. I love you. I want to know something today We went through the panera drive through the lady as soon as I got to the door like okay Wait, so she took my order she was super nice and she's like pull around front darling She called me darling. It was really cute. Oh my gosh
Starting point is 00:27:04 Then I go to get my order. She's like I thought it was super nice. And she was like, pull her around front, Darlin, she called me Darlin, it was really cute. Oh my gosh. Then I go to get my order, and she's like, I thought it was you. And she recognized me by my voice. Your voice? She recognized your voice. She was like, I watched your TikTok. That's so. I wondered if I would see you,
Starting point is 00:27:15 because she just moved from Tennessee. And so she was like, I'm moving to Arizona, I was wondering if I'd run into you. That's so sweet. She recognized me for my voice. I love that. Yeah, my voice does kind of sound like a preschool teacher's, is what I'm told.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I hear it all the time, so I don't think about it. I think it's precious, I love your voice. That was something that I actually really liked about you when we first started dating. I was like, you have the cutest voice. Thanks. And the cutest, nice. Do you think it's something that people think of right
Starting point is 00:27:38 when they hear me talk or it's something that like, overtime, you're like, oh yeah, it is kind of different. It's definitely unique. Wow, weird. Does that make you sad? If you ever see a comment about your voice? That's kind of a low blow of that person. It's really low.
Starting point is 00:27:48 I can't change it. So I feel like if it's something I can't change, then it's pretty, it's a reflection of them if they were going to make that comment. So no, it doesn't make me sad. I'm so sorry. That's so bad. But I will say social media has a way of bringing out things about yourself that you never even gave a second thought to.
Starting point is 00:28:03 And now I think about all the time. Like, my voice is something I think about all the time now, ever since we've done social media, whereas I never thought twice about my voice beforehand. Yeah. I've gotten my first slew of hate comments on my singing videos, on my personal TikTok, where people are like, that's so cringe, or like, is this a joke, or just like, yeah, do you know what they say? You got to have thick skin.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Exactly. You got to gotta have thick skin. Exactly. You gotta have really thick skin. And I think like when I post the videos, like, it's definitely uncomfortable for me because I'm a perfectionist. And as I like continue to make music and continue to get back into this like singing thing that I used to do and I wanna get back into it now,
Starting point is 00:28:38 I know that I'm like, not perfect and I'm gonna get better as I work towards it. But like, seeing comments that are like, man, like, he's not good or like, this is cringe. I this is cringe like it does get under your skin. Well you know who I bet would never ever make that comment. Who? Taylor Swift. Why? Any person that's had any success in an area is never gonna look down on someone that's on the first step of that journey. Yeah. Like Taylor Swift's top pop star of all time is never gonna say something negative about someone that's just uploading their first seeing video.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Because they've been there. They see that this is a journey and this is like so brave of that person for taking that first step and starting that. Actually, I completely agree. We had, when we started the podcast, we got like a bunch of messages or a bunch of comments like on our posts
Starting point is 00:29:24 promoting the podcasting. This is so dumb, like why are you guys making a podcast? You should be making a podcast. Oh my gosh, another podcast. And it actually worked out that the podcast actually has like been a really great thing and we've had a lot of fun doing it. And so I just think about that.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Like people, I don't know what it is, but people like to crap on people when they're starting something new. People that aren't doing anything for themselves. Yeah. Like if they're not putting themselves out there in any way, it's really easy to be a loud mouth. Yeah, so if you're...
Starting point is 00:29:53 And you're not gonna put yourself out there. Yeah, so if you're somebody that's trying to start something whether it's a business or a new career or maybe it's some sort of artistic pursuit and acting or who knows what it is. Just do it. And maybe you'll fail. Maybe you'll get made fun of. But like, who the heck cares? Because there's a chance that maybe you hit it big, maybe you succeed, and then people are going to look at you and be like, wow, I wish I would have had the guts to do what they just did.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Also, no offense, but take a look at the people that have something negative to say about you, and then ask yourself Should I be giving that person's opinion of me so much weight because chances are they're not worth it That's really good. This one says game of Thrones is better than breaking bad Yep, it is yeah, actually They're very good such a good show such a good show. I would agree with that hot take. We like violence We like violent to you. I Like action though. Oh, this is a hot take.
Starting point is 00:30:49 You don't have to shower every day. That's actually true. Actually, scientifically, you probably shouldn't shower every day. It like dries you out. Especially your hair. No, you need to shower every day. I do shower every day and I wash my hair every day. What about your private parts?
Starting point is 00:31:00 I was gonna get fresh and dope. No, you don't need to clean those. They clean themselves. Especially like women, some women think they need to like clean down there. No you dope. No, you don't need to clean those, they clean themselves. Especially, some women think they need to clean down there, you don't need to. No, you do. You know your body cleans for you. If you're putting stuff up there, it's not healthy.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Not up there. Oh my gosh, not up there. I'm just saying like your body's self cleans. Okay, I get that, but don't you need to just suds it up every once in a while. I don't think you do, I feel like that's not good for you. No, I feel like I've got to have a shower today. I've read articles about cleaning your,
Starting point is 00:31:26 like you're just general hygiene and people, what are your armpits? Even your armpit, like think about people in the 1800s, like they didn't shower today. They were probably so smelly, man. They probably could have shower more. They were dried herbs and flowers around them to like mask the smell of their body odor.
Starting point is 00:31:42 I never want to smell with that smell, like. That'd be awful. Yeah, I do think you should shower everyday, but maybe, maybe scientifically or medically, you don't need to, but for me personally, I need to shower everyday. People's noses must have been really accustomed to horrible smelling stuff,
Starting point is 00:31:54 because there used to be poop in the streets all the time. Like in New York City, people would just like leave poop in the streets, horsey would just crap in the street and they would shovel it all to the side. Yeah. And also they had refrigerators, so food probably was spoiling like crazy. I'm sure they were all sorts of crazy smells back in the street and they would shovel it all to the side. Yeah. And also they have refrigerators, so food probably was spoiling like crazy. I'm sure they were all sorts of crazy smells back in the day. This one says Disney is for all ages.
Starting point is 00:32:11 That includes Disney World, Disney movies, etc. Aw, I agree. I agree. And I think that's why. Matt, just say it on the podcast. You're a Disney adult too. We're both Disney adults. Or Disney give me a high five.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Give me a high five. We're going to Disney in like a month. I'm so excited. We are. I'm excited. But what's sad is I think Disney was some recent movies that I've seen. Like I watched part of Turning Red. I watched all of Elemental.
Starting point is 00:32:34 And I just wasn't super impressed by the movies. That is another hot take. They weren't to the same level as like Monster's Inc. And Inside Out. And up. Like Monster's Inc. And Inside Out. And Up are amazing movies. Such complex story lines, it's entertaining for adults and kids.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Whoever made those movies did an incredible job to make a product that cannot only be consumed by a little kid and someone who's 80 and people are age. Like it's just, it's amazing that it's that good of a story and reaches so many for audiences. I love it and I just think some of the it's that good of a story and reach is so many for audiences. I love it. And I just think some of the newer stuff that I've seen, I have been as impressed by. No, that is so true. I totally agree as much as I hate to say it, Disney movies are not
Starting point is 00:33:15 up to the same level as they were before. Recently, I, hot take, I thought the movie Lightyear was really good. I really did like the movie Lightyear. Yeah, I also liked it. That one didn't get good reviews, but I thought it was great. It was good. I would love a sequel. Whoa, hot take.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Married people are people in a relationship, can have friends of the opposite sex that are single. Yes, but like not best friends. So what does that mean? So like we have friends that are couples, but like you're not catching me hanging out with like me and Bella don't like just hang out one on one. No, this is that are single. Oh, single. Again, like yes, but it would just be weird if I was hanging out with some single woman all don't like just hang out one on one. No, this is that are single. Oh, single? Again, yes, but it would just be weird
Starting point is 00:33:46 if I was hanging out with some single woman all the time. That would be weird. If you were hanging out with you and some single dial time, that would be weird. So what boundaries would you have? Like, can you... I don't know, if it's in a group setting, I don't think it says weird.
Starting point is 00:33:57 So you can't hang out one on one? Probably. I'm thinking, that would be... We haven't run into this. We're like, why this is one and do that? Actually, this is really interesting. We're pretty, I mean, we trust each other a lot. Neither one of us has done anything
Starting point is 00:34:11 to even slightly question that trust, but recently you had a call with someone that was also married, but it was more, you were more gonna be talking to the wife. And so you had me be on the call. Yeah. I thought it was very, very respectful of you. Well, thank you. I just felt weird about having a one-on-one call.
Starting point is 00:34:28 With her, so I was just like, let's have a call with all of us. So it was me and you and her and her husband. That was very respectful of you. And it was very, it was good. I didn't see. I personally didn't think it was necessary, but I think that was really nice of you to think of that. Or were you trying to make her husband more comfortable?
Starting point is 00:34:42 Or me? Both. Yeah, I think it was both. Very nice of that. Or were you trying to make her husband more comfortable? Or me? Both. Yeah, I think it was both. Very nice of you. Yeah, I don't, I actually disagree with this hot take. I do think that married people or people in a relationship should pretty much avoid having. No, okay, friends is such a broad term. Like, I don't think I should be texting a single guy that's like my age all the time.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Like I could shoot him a text to work out some details. But I'm not gonna just do a single guy text. It's like, hey, what's up? Hope you're doing well. Like, I don't think that's appropriate. Yeah, I'll take. Especially hanging out one-on-one, no. Yeah, there's no, you don't catch me
Starting point is 00:35:16 like texting women one-on-one. Like I'll text. I'm mostly just don't want to. I'll text my boys one-on-one, you know? On the homies, you know, we do that. Sometimes, sometimes. Mostly, I just don't have the desire. I don't really like guys that much. Do you, who are your homies that you like to text Abby?
Starting point is 00:35:30 I got some homies. You got some homies? Yeah. My mom is my mom. You talk to your mom every day. And she lives with us. Well, she does live with us now. I don't call her every day.
Starting point is 00:35:41 She lives at the house. But you used to. Probably a lot. Yeah. This one we can get down with, having your dogs out is not a crime. Figure socks off right now. Everybody, please stop.
Starting point is 00:35:52 And you're- Stop commenting about our feet on the podcast. We're proud of them. Maybe we need a trimmer toenails. Wait, did they say that? No, I didn't see a trim socks off. Oh gosh. I actually put socks on today because I noticed
Starting point is 00:36:03 that I probably should trim my toenails. So then I, I wouldn't recover that. Oh gosh, not give me my sock back. Now I'm thinking I shouldn't see how it comes out. Oh gosh. I actually put socks on today because I noticed that I probably should turn my toenails so then I, I wouldn't recover that. Oh gosh, not give me my sock back now. I'm thinking I shouldn't. I think your toenails are cute. I can see they're like half painted. You got them, you got some pink going on there. Yeah, the last time painted them, I was still
Starting point is 00:36:15 like not even close to having a sock. After a wedding, you didn't like take off the toenail polish, the nail polish on your toenails for like six months and it just like slowly faded away I take you don't need to change your toenail polish until less than 50% of your nails are covered Catch up is acceptable to eat on state absolutely not that's a good steak No, it shouldn't need it ketchup on a steak. I can see a one. I put a one on a steak I don't like a one don't put ketchup on a steak come on
Starting point is 00:36:43 What if it's like a really dry steak? I'm not even a steak you should I don't like A1. Don't put ketchup on a steak. Come on. What if it's like a really dry steak? I'm not even a steak. You should just don't even need to steak you chicken. That's true. Yeah. I think you shouldn't be putting ketchup on steak. OK. I'm trying to do this again.
Starting point is 00:36:54 You're so not like steak. I know. I have some hot takes that I just thought of on my own. A couple of these are really going to ruffle some feathers. And I'm just going to say, I have friends that have these, and I think they're beautiful people, but I still have my opinions on this. I think that anyone that has eyelash extensions
Starting point is 00:37:14 would look better without eyelash extensions. Dang, you just offended half of our viewers. I sure hope not. We can have different opinions. I just don't think that. You're saying that as a woman who has incredible eyelashes that are natural and very long, so I feel like you're coming at that from have different opinions. I just don't think that. You're saying that as a woman who has incredible eyelashes that are natural and very long. So I feel like you're coming at that
Starting point is 00:37:28 from a different perspective. Well, thank you. You do have really, the fact that your eyelashes are completely real and that long and luscious and beautiful is incredible. Thank you. But I'm even talking about people that might have like short or thinner lashes
Starting point is 00:37:41 or straight lashes. I just think that they get too bulky on people's eyes and then you can't fully see their eyes like the beauty of their natural eyes. I could see how like the really big eyelashes, you know the ones I'm talking about where it's just like, yeah, but they're all so thick. I haven't seen one where I'm like,
Starting point is 00:37:59 oh that looks extremely natural. Really, maybe we're just more into the natural look. Maybe. But makeup isn't natural and women wear that. Exactly. I like mascara. I guess makeup's gotten so widely used and accepted. We just accepted as natural these days. This hot take says breakfast foods should not be a thing. Only lunch and dinner foods. Heck no! Heck no. We love our brunch. I wake up hungry. We've had some really great times and memories made over brunch.
Starting point is 00:38:26 And when Abby and I get brunch, we like to split a sweet and a savory option. And at a local place in Arizona called snooze, they have this pancake order called the flight. Honey, it's not local, is they have a chain? It's a chain. And they have it locally here in Arizona. And we'll get the flight.
Starting point is 00:38:43 And you get three different styles of pancakes and they're delicious. We'll get like a cinnamon roll one. We'll get a French toast one. It's actually not even a pancake. It's just French toast. The OMG French toast. And then what do we get for the third one? We get like a... It's a wild card. Might get the seasonal one. Might get... Yeah, and then we get a breakfast burrito to go with it. So then like the fact that you would want to get rid of that just breaks my heart, honestly. Well here's Matt, what's the what's the interesting thing about me related to breakfast foods? Um, I don't know. I don't know what you what are you trying to say?
Starting point is 00:39:13 Matt, you know me. Interesting thing about you. Yes. You like you like to drink coffee in the mornings? I don't know. No, that's not interesting. We always eat the same amount. No, we do. That's awesome. We do. Okay, man. I'm really impressed with that by the way that you can eat as much food as Mm. No. We do. That's awesome. We do. Okay, man.
Starting point is 00:39:25 I'm really impressed with that by the way, that you can eat as much food as me. Thank you. I've always been known for eating a ton of food, and you get as much food as I do, so that's really impressive. Thank you. And you look amazing.
Starting point is 00:39:34 I'm flattered. Can you give me a hint? I have really no idea. It's related to breakfast foods, even if it's late in the day. Even if it's late in the day. Oh, the first meal of the day for Abbey Howard has to be breakfast.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I cannot, like even if it's like one o'clock and we are like gonna eat for the first time that day for whatever reason, it has to be a breakfast item. Could you, okay, could you eat like an egg and then be like, okay, that's my breakfast and then immediately eat lunch? Yeah, yeah, yeah. If it breaks the seal.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Abbey, that's weird. That's really weird, I'm sorry. If it breaks the seal. That's weird. That's really weird. I'm sorry. Mentally, I just need to have breakfast. Okay, hot take, which pop tart is the best pop tart? I don't, hot take pop tart is disgusting. Er, wrong. The brown sugar cinnamon are by far the best pop tart.
Starting point is 00:40:16 The only one I can get behind is the hot fudge sundae. No, no, no, smore, hot fudge sundae. And hot fudge sundae. And how should we beat it up? No, especially the sprinkles ones. Like, if you get the strawberry pop tart, just tell that in the trash. Nobody wants that.
Starting point is 00:40:28 And go for a hot fudge sundae pop tart actually, right now. Nobody wants that. No, brown sugar cinnamon. Wait, is brown sugar cinnamon different than the, they might have like a maple one or something. Dude, do you know what I ate for lunch, like every day in junior high?
Starting point is 00:40:40 That was the first time we could get all a cart off. Or why did you get? I'd get a hot fudge sundae pop tart, a soft pretzel with cheese, and like a cookie. And look how amazing your body looks. Seriously, you look so good. Body built by hot-fudge sundae pop tart. I haven't eaten one of those in a long time. We should do that.
Starting point is 00:41:01 We should eat nostalgic foods. I just wanted to say thank you to you guys for streaming my song on Spotify I just hit 230,000 streams on falling in love That's amazing. So thank you. Thank you to Abby for like being my biggest cheerleader I don't know. I just I just feel very grateful and very thankful so you guys please do it for me Listen to Matt's music for me because my ultimate dream is to be his groupie I want to be your groupie too. Whatever you decide to do, whatever passion project you decide to pursue,
Starting point is 00:41:29 I want to root for you, whether that's a book or whether that's getting back and acting again, I want to do, I want to be that for you too. So I really appreciate that. And I feel like that is not the mark of a true friend when someone just like roots for you and shares for you and wants you to succeed at everything you do. They've all ride with you, Tilly and I will physically fight people for you. But you were like my best friend through and through and so I feel it just feels good to have that.
Starting point is 00:41:51 Yeah, so do it for my homey guys. Listen to music. It's also really good and it's gonna make you feel all cozy inside. It's like you just had your first sip of a lot to have the morning. I'm really sad. We have more music coming too. A week from today, I'm really sad. We have more music coming to a week from today I'm actually recording a new song
Starting point is 00:42:08 From yeah the time by the time they're hearing this I will already have recorded the song And I don't even know anything about this song. It's a surprise to me. So we'll be surprised together guys Yeah, thank you to everybody that's following on Spotify and stream the song and I guess actually you can listen to song literally anywhere Like even Apple music and stuff. Yeah, but it'll be like here. I think it's on Pandora. If your grandma still listens on Pandora, you can tell her to go listen to Falling in Love
Starting point is 00:42:33 by Matt Howard on Pandora. That's awesome. Okay, thank you guys. You're awesome. Now back to the episode. Isn't that interesting how kids can eat like crap and like look so good? Cause I think it really catches up with you more as an adult.
Starting point is 00:42:44 But then again, I think the adults that work out more, hot take tend to just look better. Cause like you work out a ton. Like you could like Abby, you can eat whatever you want cause you work out so much. You burn like 500 calories. There's every time you work out, it's crazy. I like to work out and I like to eat so.
Starting point is 00:43:02 But the thing about me is when I work out, I just feel good about myself, and then I'm like, man, I wanna take good care of my body. So I end up eating healthier when I work out. That's a double positive. And that's a normal one. It's a double positive. Cause I'm not gonna start eating brown sugar,
Starting point is 00:43:14 cinnamon, pop tart, when I just went to the gym for an hour. I wanna eat broccoli and eat like cinnamon. This is my hot take. Every food can fit into a healthy diet in moderation. Amen. And that's why when you see right here today, you're gonna see me cookies,
Starting point is 00:43:31 you're gonna see me have full fat milk and cheese and things like that because I just think that you don't need to cut out whole purfours of food. And bread, why are people trying to get rid of bread? It's like, oh, it's a carb, get rid of it. Oh, avocado has fat in it, get rid of avocado. Avocado's freaking great for you. That's such a healthy thing to eat.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You're so right. And like, oh, fruit, like if you have a smoothie with real fruit and it's sugar, it's fruit. Yeah, it's totally agree, could not agree more. I just think that cutting out whole categories of food is just, unless there's a medical need, like that's a totally different scenario, then it's just not necessary.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Like have a well-rounded diet, that includes broccoli, and that includes, I don't know. And look, I totally respect people that have decided to go vegan and go vegetarian for. I guess that's different, yeah. For personal beliefs, I totally respect that. I do think that we need to treat animals better on our planet, and I do think that we probably consume
Starting point is 00:44:23 too much. I think we should eat less meat. And we could probably eat less meat, probably better for us, better on our planet. And I do think that we probably consume too much. I think we should eat less meat. And we could probably eat less meat, probably better for us, better for our planet. But at the same time, I find it so fascinating how we're seeing trends in the carnivore diet. And then we're seeing on the opposite end, the vegan diet, it's like, why can't we just have
Starting point is 00:44:38 a balanced plate? Or why can't you just eat everything in moderation and just maybe only eat meat for one meal a day? And have a vegetarian breakfast in lunch. Like maybe steps. Yeah, because typically I have a vegetarian breakfast. You know, I'm not eating any meat for breakfast. No, yeah, we don't eat meat for breakfast.
Starting point is 00:44:57 I could be better about having a vegetarian lunch, but like maybe I could do tofu. You know, we should be having a lunch. You can really fire tofu bowls, and I miss those. With like peanut sauce. It's been a while, yeah, I could do tofu. You know, you have to make really fire tofu bowls, and I miss those. With like peanut sauce. Oh, it's been a while, yeah, I should make those. So good. We should be having the gin for Aniston salad for lunch.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Yes. I have the ingredients to make it. What if we go vegetarian for breakfast and lunch, and then we can eat meat for dinner? And it would be better. There's another thing, I'm very happy. I like that. I think that should be the goal,
Starting point is 00:45:20 but I'm always very hesitant to be like, okay, I'm not doing this. This is my rules for my diet. Just because I feel like you miss out on so much life when you make hard rules around food for yourself. True. Like when we're traveling and we had for breakfast, Taco Bell, like totally fine.
Starting point is 00:45:35 That's okay. Actually, hot take the Taco Bell California Brito ad steak is the best breakfast for the breakfast. It's like California Brito. It's the crunch wrap. But yeah, the count, it's called like the California crunch wrap. It was incredible. And that did have meat in it.
Starting point is 00:45:49 So, maybe I should encourage that if we're going to eat that vegetarian food. That's what I'm saying. Hard and fast rules like that. But then a good goal of it is like to consume less meat. Then that is a good goal. I don't know. I think that you can get in an unhealthy space in your head, in your relationship with
Starting point is 00:46:04 food if you start making hard and fast rules like that. Yeah. So that's my take on diets. Hot take, I think you're a very intelligent woman. You do? I think you're really smart. Thank you. I didn't realize that when I was first like attracted to you
Starting point is 00:46:16 and then I guess I got to know you. I was like, wow, this woman is like so smart and like I wanna have a wife who raises my children and she's like very intelligent and then like we're gonna have some our kids, you know what I'm saying? Hot take, brains are better than looks when it comes to finding a partner
Starting point is 00:46:33 and spend the rest of your life with. You would have somebody that looks good though. I feel like you want somebody that you can look at every day. Okay, I'm saying that as someone that has an extremely attractive husband, so it's not. But we've been talking about this. You you would get bored of looks so fast. I don't know. I mean, like what there's some statistic
Starting point is 00:46:49 about like intimacy and marriage and how it like makes up like one percent of your time, and the other 99% of your time is. We're not talking about intimacy, which I'm not looks. I know, but like intimacy plays into looks. Like people, the reason people are into looks is because they want to sleep with that person.
Starting point is 00:47:01 Well, that's just because you're really visual. Like I feel like women tend to, or at least for myself, I'm more into emotional connection. Yeah. Guys are very visual. I don't know why. That's just, yeah, guys are definitely more... In general.
Starting point is 00:47:14 I feel like a dude could pick up. There's some ugly dudes out there that have a very attractive wife because of crazy confidence. I told you. Women are so attracted to confidence in guys. So true. Yeah. Should I tell my hot take, but I don't attracted to confidence in guys. So true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Should I tell my hot take, but I don't want to or what is that guys feeling? What is it? That 99% of guys like better with a shirt off. I don't think you actually mean that. No, I do. I feel like you mean like 75% of guys. No, I mean 99.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Because I can see how like, look, like I'm with the whole dad thing, like maybe I should wear a shirt a little bit more. No, you're saying what I'm trying. I don't look as good as I used to with my shirt off. And I'm trying to go back to the gym, you know, get back in the grind. You look great, and I appreciate that. Any guy should wear what they feel most comfortable in? I'm just saying looks wise.
Starting point is 00:47:57 You feel like 99% of men should just put a shirt on. I don't wanna get myself to be comfortable. You're gonna walk yourself in the middle of the day. I'm really, I'm gonna be careful in just an air, but I think you look great shirtless. And we think you're pretty good. Oh, here's my hot take. I don't think it should be illegal
Starting point is 00:48:11 for women to be topless in public. I think that is, I think that's silly. Okay, I'm gonna go outside right now and take my shirt off. And we talk about this. That would, I selfishly wouldn't want you to do that, but at the same time, I don't think that should be illegal. I don't think you should be criminalized for just showing like just your body.
Starting point is 00:48:29 But do you think nowadays people are really getting like tickets for that? Probably, I'm sure it's happened. Wow, pretty hard. Other hot take, the drinking age should be 18. Okay, that is actually true. If you can serve in the military, you should be able to drink.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Totally. And vote, you can serve and vote. I just think that still, I feel like almost oh my god. And everyone's drinking anyway, right? Everyone's already drinking anyway. And maybe there's like a, there's a better way to go about it.
Starting point is 00:48:51 People get this crazy excitement about, oh my gosh, I'm breaking the law. I'm 20 years old going to this college party and drinking it's like, if it wasn't illegal, I don't think it would be as cool. I really don't. I feel like the fact that it's so widely done and it is illegal makes kids want to do it more. Because like this is crazy.
Starting point is 00:49:08 This is exciting. Like we're breaking the law. So I feel like if we actually changed the law, I really do believe that drinking would go down or been drinking. Maybe drinking wouldn't go down, but been drinking, which I think can lead to a lot of problems.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Really? And drunk driving. Or maybe like alcohol addiction. Yeah, drunk driving incidents. I just think there's a reason why in other countries where the drinking age is 18, like in Europe, they seem to have a better approach when it comes to alcohol. I want to see the statistics on that. The party scene isn't as big there, I would say.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Really? What is interesting though about Europe, though, is when we went to like, in the, all the young people smoke and that was so sad,'m like why are young people smoking here? Secrets are big in Italy, when we were in Italy we saw so many young people smoking. My hot take is that alcohol in general is so overrated. I don't give a rip about alcohol. That's true.
Starting point is 00:49:55 I will say though, it's a slip really slope to fall now because I think like sometimes if I'm feeling anxious or just I'm stressed out or I have a bad headache from a long day, especially now with two kids. Like it's like, man, I can really use a beer right now. Or I mean, I can really go for a glass of wine right now. And I think it- It doesn't make me feel better.
Starting point is 00:50:10 But I think it's- A bath makes me feel better. Yeah, I think there's other ways, I think there's other ways to cope with the challenges of life that aren't alcohol related, but I think alcohol gives you an immediate release for a lot of people, and that's why it's such an easy- That's sad.
Starting point is 00:50:24 An easy substance to go to. Yeah, I just think alcohol in general, overrated. I always rather have a lot to. Yeah, I feel like it is helpful for young people. Like for us, like we didn't buy alcohol in college because it was expensive and we wanted to save our money. And so I think- So we never develop that habit.
Starting point is 00:50:41 So we don't really develop that habit. I think it's still possible for us to develop that habit. You we don't really develop that habit. I think it's still possible for us to develop a habit. You cannot undermine how your community influences your own habit. We're not friends with people that drink much. Totally. But if we were, we'd probably be more inclined to drink a lot. That's just good lesson for everyone. When we moved to Hawaii, we became friends with a lot of people that were LDS and they don't drink in that religion and so that really influenced us. Even if I wanted to have a beer, I'm not going to like drink a beer and be the only dude
Starting point is 00:51:12 drinking a beer at a hangout. Interesting. Yeah. My mom always said, choose your friends wisely for soon you will see who you are with as who you will be. That is good. That's how true. That's good, right?
Starting point is 00:51:23 I love that. And that's why I mean, I don't know, I just try to gravitate towards people that I find to be really awesome people, whether that's intelligence or just giving back or creative, creative, like if you just find peace around yourself with the right people, I feel like that definitely influences you. Yeah, and while we're on the topic, if you want to be our friend, yes, we're looking for friends. I've meant to do a story post on my Instagram story to be like, hey, are there any dads
Starting point is 00:51:49 and errors or any dads and phoenix that like to skateboard? Because I love to have a community of dads like to skate. It's so hard to find community when you have little babies. And when you move somewhere new. And when you move somewhere new. When you leave your community and go somewhere that you don't know anybody, it's tough. So if you also have little babies or you are in a new place, tell us how you find community because we're looking for that too. I've heard like Facebook groups are even good,
Starting point is 00:52:15 but I've never, I don't really use Facebook. Yeah, we could maybe, isn't there an app for like finding friends? I think it doesn't bumble have that. I feel like I'm doing it. We don't know, I think bumble. Yeah, I've heard they have that. I wish I could have bumble.
Starting point is 00:52:26 I feel like even in our neighborhood though, I feel like we could be better. I feel like they do need to happen organically. Like, and I'm not gonna just be like, but I think using an app. But I think you have to be intentional as an adult. For sure. Like in college.
Starting point is 00:52:36 That's why it's hard. It's so easy when you're in the dorms or like in a house with people that you decided to live with. Like it's easy just to have people to hang out with all the time, but you have to be really intentional about your relationships and your older. And schedule it. Like we scheduled last night, we hung out with our new friends, Steven Meagan, and we had
Starting point is 00:52:52 to put it on the calendar two weeks in advance. Yeah. So I think like when you're married, you have kids, you're working, you need to have things on the calendar to make sure that they actually happen. And I think you shouldn't to add to your point. I think that you shouldn't be feeling like you can't be the person to take that initiative to plan something, say, hey, we should hang out.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Or, hey, can I give you my number? Maybe we can get together sometime. Because sometimes I would just be sad. I'd be like, man, no one wants to hang out with me. I'm so bummed out. And I'm like, wait, I didn't ask anybody to hang out with me. Why am I just sitting here feeling sad and expecting everyone to come here and just
Starting point is 00:53:28 like come to me? Honestly, honey, I think that's because you're so likable and I think you're so funny and just a fun personality that I think your whole life people have reached out to you and wanted to hang out with you because you are just a very likable person. And I think now is an adult, even though you still are that way, it's just more challenging to make those hangouts happen. So now you're learning that you do have to reach out and play in those and schedule those.
Starting point is 00:53:50 No, I love it. We gotta work on that. Hey, we can have friends, we're gonna do this. Yeah, we can have friends. We can have friends. We can be best friends and we can have other friends. That's right, I like that. That's healthy.
Starting point is 00:54:00 Yeah. I love that. That was some good hot takes, babe. Yeah, I'm nervous about this one. I'm actually sweating and so hot in here. Hopefully you guys were offended by any of those. And hey, if you have any new hot takes in the comments, let us know. Anyway, until next time.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Three, two, one. Peace out, dudes.
