Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Tony and Ryan podcast. My name is Ryan. This is Dr. Author Tony Lodge. Hello. We are calling Ella in Ballarat. Ballarat. Under my armour, Ella, Ella, Ella. Hi! Ella! Tony and Ryan, how you doing?
Starting point is 00:00:17 How are you? Good. I'm sorry, I've just wrapped into work. How are we? That's all right. We never go to work, so you're ahead of us us already tell us all about it um what do you actually do for work alice because i reckon this is a pretty sick job a pretty sweet job uh i make gelato oh fuck a woman after my own heart that's amazing i get to eat it all day do you get some fucking legit milk as well for your coffee and shit? Look, milk's milk, but, yeah, absolutely we do. Like you get like dope milk to make gelato with and then you go fucking, yeah, pop something like me coffee.
Starting point is 00:00:53 There's a milk in gelato. Well, there's obviously milk in gelato, like milk and cream and, yeah. Gelato is like it's less milky than ice cream. What is gelato? We've got an expert on the phone. What is gelato? It's less milky than ice cream. What is gelato? We've got an expert on the phone. What is gelato? It's made with milk, not cream. It's made with milk, not cream.
Starting point is 00:01:13 So it's like Italian style gelato. Fucking Tony Lodge is so stoked with herself right now. It's a health food. That's what I'm hearing. Yes. It's a health food. Great to know. Whereas ice cream is more cream based. Yeah. Ice cream. It's not ice meal. Yeah. It's a health food. Great to know. But whereas like ice cream, yeah, is more cream based. Yeah, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Yes. Cream. It's not ice meal. Yeah, it's ice cream. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sorry. I'm so fucking up my own ass right now. Yeah, Sony is so full of herself.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Literally, I'm like Ouroboros that snake. About that meal. Yeah. You guys will have to pop in one time. I would love to. What a stupid thing to say. I'd love to. What a stupid thing to say. I'd love to. She's on her way already.
Starting point is 00:01:48 I'm on my way. I'm in the car. When you see an Audi pull up out the front, you just start with that. I'll just screech around and you throw it in the window and I'll come back to Melbourne. Yeah. Yeah. We're not a drive-thru, but we will be. You have to be.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Anything's a drive-thru if you have the right attitude. That's exactly right. That's what my boyfriend says. I've always said that. Ella, do you approve today's podcast? Yep. Yep, I do. Amazing, Ella.
Starting point is 00:02:12 See you later. G'day, it's Ella from Ballarat and I approve this podcast. all right we're back we're alive we did it and tony do you remember it would have been a few weeks ago now maybe you've put this out of your subconscious uh that Ash had that story about her family getting a big group smiling photo at a funeral. Yes. It may have led to us talking about you hooking up with or trying to hook up with someone at a mum's funeral. Trying to hook up with someone. Yep.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Thanks for bringing that up again. Yeah. Well, Ash has commented. Hi, Ash. She's like, I think she must have commented a while back. I had forgotten about my comment. Oh. Hearing you talk about it the other day is one of the best things
Starting point is 00:03:09 that's happened to me all year. Oh, Ash, dream a little bigger, I feel. So to sum up the death of my brother, downside, trauma, upside, ending up in my favourite podcast, possibly a net positive. Oh, you know what? Actually, beautiful. Yeah. Every cloud has a silver lining and that's it silver linings playbook that movie is actually hell depressing
Starting point is 00:03:32 though is it yeah is that the one with jennifer lawrence and bradley cooper yeah why are we talking no because i was just singing through my thoughts, which I often do. I do. Okay. At home. We, again, talked about Tony sending a you up text to a boy and he was busy. And then you you upped some athletes. So maybe it, you know, maybe it all balances out. The sum of all parts.
Starting point is 00:03:59 The sum of all ups. Yeah. Down. I'm getting shut down. Why do funerals make us horny? You know what? I think it's a combination of your emotions being right at the surface. You probably haven't been sleeping, depending on what the circumstances are.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I think it's the emotions. You're tired. You're worn out. You just want to, I think you just really want to be held that's a bit sad but I think that that is true I just wanted to fuck that's really
Starting point is 00:04:35 you just wanted to be held it sounds a little bit sad doesn't it and you just kind of want some like someone to be held inside you or just like it's the closeness isn't it that you're just like oh And you just kind of want someone to be held inside you. Or just like it's the closeness, isn't it? That you're just like, oh, you've lost someone for whatever the circumstances, whoever they are to you.
Starting point is 00:04:55 I'm sure that there might be a complicated history or you're just really sad. I think it might be that. Is that too sad to say? Let's read a few of these stories and we'll see how we feel. Okay. Caitlin. I'm horny already.
Starting point is 00:05:09 At my great-grandmother's funeral, the mortician was a bit of a right. So I asked him out on a date and he said yes. At the funeral? Yeah. Well, that's what I meant. They were chatting off. Oh, thanks for the service. Oh, bye.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Yeah. Oh, you did great on her makeup. Yeah. Well, that's great. Oh, yeah. It's a good job. Oh, yeah. What else are you up to. Yeah. Oh, you did great on her makeup. Yeah. Yeah, great. Oh, yeah. It's a good job. Oh, yeah. What else are you up to?
Starting point is 00:05:27 Yeah. Okay, great. Do you want to hang out sometime? I guess they do say you meet people at work. Yeah. Don't you? Yeah. I didn't think it was weird at the time.
Starting point is 00:05:35 I was 20, says Caitlin. But looking back many years later, super weird. It is a little bit weird. But again, not because of their job but literally just because the situation. Yeah. Do you think, you remember a couple of weeks ago, again, delving into the brains when we talked about whether someone is hot
Starting point is 00:05:58 or they just work hot? Yeah. Was this person just a bit of all right because you're at a funeral and everyone else you were related to? Were they just hot or were you just not related to them at a funeral? Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Like I think that's a good question.
Starting point is 00:06:13 I pose that back to Ash. Okay. Yeah. Caitlin. Caitlin. Yeah, I was going to say, all right, I'll let Ash know. I'll let Ash know. I think this is Minx.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Hi, Minx. MX. I don't know what their name is. Okay. I had it. I shouldn't laugh because their mum died. My mum died and my ex showed up at the funeral, you know, as a piece of board.
Starting point is 00:06:38 They obviously knew each other from when they were together. But then after like, oh, you know, hope you're all right, rub on the back, they actually like tried it on. Yeah, you 100 this is the other way around it was her mother she was one that had to be like no oh the ex tried it on with them with minx yeah i'm gonna rock up to my ex's mom's funeral and try and hook up with my ex again that's a bold move but do you think it's a bit of just like it's the emotion and they're just like, are you feeling this? And then Minx is like, well, no. Well, he's read the Tony Lodge playbook.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Literally, it's in my book. And he goes, oh, here's my chance. She'll be vulnerable. That's so creepy. Got shut down. Shame. But I think it's just the emotions in the air, the electricity. Yeah, this is fucked.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Can I just say good for Minx for shutting him down? Yeah. Would have been really easy to just go, yep, let's get it on. Yeah. I'm sad. You're sad. Let's do it. Now this is similar because it's an ex involved,
Starting point is 00:07:36 but it's not the same story. So just let me be clear on that. Yep. Elizabeth. My mother? Yeah, she's got a story. My ex's mum passed away. Hang on. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:46 So Elizabeth's ex? Yep. The ex's mum passed away. Yep. Yep. We were together for 10 years. Jeez. And I got along with his mother and his family really well.
Starting point is 00:07:57 So I went to the funeral to show my support and respect, which love it. 10 years. Like you would know the family so well. Yeah. You're definitely still friends on Facebook and stuff. My ex had a new girl. Oh. Who gave me a few glances at the funeral.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Like, oh, your ex is here, you know. I'm like, oh, who's this old bitch? Stepping on my turf. Stepping on my turf. Yeah. They go through the eulogy. Then there's this moment where they. Sorry, I'm laughing.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Yeah. They go through the eulogy. Then there's this moment where they- Sorry, I'm laughing. Yeah. They go through the eulogy. Then there's this moment when people are invited to speak about memories of the mother. So his new girlfriend gets up. No, no. Stephanie, sit down. Wanting to make everything about her.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Stephanie, sit down. Gets up on stage and says, whilst I only knew his mother for a short time, she'll rest easy knowing her son has ended up with me. And glances at the ex. Oh, I want to die right now. We'll be together forever, she announces. Oh, you won't. And I'd like to take this
Starting point is 00:09:05 opportunity to announce to our family and friends that we're engaged tony has passed away herself and i'll be announcing at her funeral that i was engaged to tony That. What a little mole. The new girlfriend. That is fucked up. Not the new girlfriend. The new fiance. Fiance.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Sorry. I don't speak French. That is shocking behavior. You dump her right after. You go, you know what? Don't worry about coming to the wake because that is not on i'm gonna take this opportunity it's actually not an opportunity it's actually the death of my mother today isn't all about you stephanie that is the most fucked thing i've ever heard
Starting point is 00:10:00 and we've heard some crook shit on this podcast that is the worst thing i think i've ever heard. And we've heard some crook shit on this podcast. That is the worst thing I think I've ever heard in my life. I cannot even fathom that occurring. Stephanie's not her real name, but I think this has only happened once in history, so if they see this video, it's probably about you. It's about you.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Yeah, you stupid fucking idiot. And fuck you! G'day, it's Ella from Ballarat and you're listening to Tony and Ryan. A massive shout out to a few of our champion tappers over at our Patreon. Thank you very much for being here with us. We couldn't do it without you. Chris Watson Shields. Good on you, Chris.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Mel Tamafelu. Tamo Folau. Not bad for me, guys. Amy Taylor. Good on you, Amy. Spencer Shields. Chris Shields and Spencer Shields. I wonder if they're related.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Rachel Worthington. Sam Worthington. Larissa Naidoo and Katie Kay. Thank you very much for being part of our Patreon. Absolutely love to see it. Love to fucking see it. Even though last weekend was pretty big. Yep. Next Monday, pretty big announcement.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Oh, moderate. No. Yeah. Pretty big announcement. Would you actually, would we go as far as to say it's a shareholders meeting shareholders will be impacted yeah no it's a shareholders meeting yeah next monday shareholders meeting on the podcast holding your shares you have to hold your shares you have to hold your shares um recently we've talked about and i think I want people to embrace this concept. I think it's the most fantastic concept.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Fuck me. What type of contraceptive do you use to avoid having children? I've got an IUD. Okay. Yeah. And it works for me. This is not medical advice. Dr. Tony Lodge, not medical advice.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Brave versus fearless. Fearless. Fearless people are just that. They're there's no fears none yeah no fear here brave is having fear but doing it anyway because you're being brave pushing through the fear yep yeah acknowledging it and going i'm scared of this but i'm'm doing it. Yeah. Yeah. Now, one of the things, one of the many things Tony Lodge may have, and tell me if I'm wrong at any moment, but one of the things Tony Lodge is fearful of is, you know, upsetting others, putting others out.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Being honest. Being honest. And so instead I'll just say what I think they want to hear, what they need to hear, whatever makes it easier. Or whatever's going to get me out of this situation. Yeah, whatever's going to cause less of a fuss, I'll do that. Whatever gets me less attention almost. Because if I just go.
Starting point is 00:12:54 It depends on the circumstances. No, no, no, but I'll just go like, oh, yep, that's fine, just so that I can like beeline out of there. Normal or not, if someone calls you by the wrong name, do you just allow yourself to be that name for the rest of the day? Yeah, probably. Like the waitress goes oh Stephanie and you go, yeah. Obviously not fucking Stephanie.
Starting point is 00:13:11 But if someone said, oh is that your reservation? I'd go, no, no, no, because I'd be so scared I was taking someone else's reservation. Now Tony, I believe you were faced recently with an opportunity where someone said is everything okay? And it was not okay.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And what are you going to do about it? Are you going to go, no, good, see you, thank you? Or are you going to be brave? Are you going to go, I do have fear, but I'm going to push through anyway because I am brave Tony Lodge. Well, I think everybody would be very familiar with the, like, notion online that, like, no matter matter what happens say if you go and get your nails done and the nail lady like gives you the wrong color or whatever and they go oh is
Starting point is 00:13:50 that okay and you go yeah yeah i wanted yellow thank you so much doesn't want a yellow nail there was this tweet that went viral a few years ago and it was like the nail lady could cut my finger off and i'd go yeah i love it love it. Honestly, 10 was too many. They were getting in the way. And then there was also this other tweet that went viral and it was like, when you say that you love your haircut so that you can just cry in the car. Yeah. I'll deal with this personally later.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Yeah. And I think we've actually all been there. Like I don't think there's been a single person in the world that hasn't gone, love it. And then you go to the car and you go, oh, you look in the rearview mirror and you go, oh, God, they've gone pink. That's interesting. Do you think last week when I got my hair cut, I did that? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:14:36 Do I think that you cried in the car? No, it looked really good. Yeah, it was a test. Yeah. What was the test? Imagine if you go, oh, obviously. And I'm like, what? I'm like, yeah, you must have been upset.
Starting point is 00:14:46 You're like, oh, no, I thought it looked great. What did you say, Ryan, when they did that? Yeah. God, how much did you cry? Yeah. Well, the other day I went to get my hair cut. Thank you so much for noticing. And my girlfriend, Raquel, who has been doing my hair for like five or six years,
Starting point is 00:15:02 even with her, who is now, she's now a good friend of mine, I probably wouldn't say anything. Or there's been times where like she's been running a bit behind and I'm like, I'll just go home with wet hair and I'll blow dry it myself. And she's like, well, obviously not. Like I'm not going to do that to you. The other day.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Sorry to interrupt. Yeah, no, no, no, please. Because you have become good friends. It's almost harder. Yeah, right, no, no, please. Because you have become good friends. It's almost harder. Yeah, right? Because I'm like, oh, you're- You're not just some blow-in hairdresser that I never have to see again. You're my friend.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Exactly. So when you say, oh, we're friends now, so it should be, I don't think, I think that's harder. And also because, like, I work a lot. She always gives me like a, like she'll keep the salon open, like, for me or she'll let me go in on a Sunday when they're closed and things like that. So I'm always like, oh, I'm paying you but you're doing me a favour. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Like you're seeing me at a time that works for me and this is your own free time that you shouldn't be working, you know. So I always feel like I owe her to not say anything. Yeah. Anyway, when I first went in there, I asked for a different fringe to my normal micro fringe. Yeah. I was like, yep, I think I want like in there, I asked for a different fringe to my normal micro fringe. I was like, yep, I think I want like a longer, flicky, like more curtain bangs kind of Taylor Swift-y fringe
Starting point is 00:16:12 is kind of what I was after. Did you take a picture of Taylor Swift and said, I'll have this please? I'd sent her probably like 10 photos of different people who I'd seen with her. Of different eras of Taylor Swift. Yeah, it was just Taylor Swift. No, no, no, it was like lots of different people that I've like seen on Pinterest
Starting point is 00:16:27 or whatever, but they all had the same kind of thing. And she was like, oh, my God, yeah, amazing. She cuts this fringe in. It's not good. And you can tell instantly and it's not like, oh, you could get used to that. Yeah, you'll grow into it. No, it's a, like, it's it. No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:16:47 And so she cuts that in and she goes, what do you reckon? And you know how they like flick it around and they're kind of showing you like the movement or whatever? And I went, I'm a no for this. Were you building up to that? Did you just in the moment drop that on yourself? I had to just rip the Band-Aid off. And instead of going, oh!
Starting point is 00:17:15 And like going home, just like cutting my fringe myself, I went, I'm a no for that. And she went, hmm, yeah, me too. Let's do your micro fringe. And it was simple as anything. Really easy, isn't it? She didn't give a fuck. I didn't give a fuck.
Starting point is 00:17:29 And then after that happened, she goes, yeah, let's do your micro fringe. It's so you. That's what we've got to do. And then like 20 seconds kind of passed and I went, how proud are you that I just said that? She was like, I can't believe it. And I don't think we should talk about it.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Yeah, no, don't jinx it. Why have you said said it on the podcast you've ruined everything she's like just don't say anything let's just move fast she's like babe i can't believe you just did that and i was like me either i don't think my brain's caught up yet and my heart started going really hard even now my legs feel tingly because I just got this huge burst of adrenaline from doing that. You should have left straight from the hairdresser and gone straight to the car repair place. I'm in form of being honest and I'm on a roll. Now, who's fixing my car?
Starting point is 00:18:20 Haven't had my car for about a month. Everyone's like, oh. It's all good. And we're all really fine about it. Actually, we've got to, oh. It's all good. And we're all really fine about it. Yeah, I actually got Branglin up, to be honest. And we're all actually fine. Do you think. Imagine if I went in there and they're like, oh, my God,
Starting point is 00:18:35 you had your hair done. I'm like, I could have had a baby in the time that my fucking car's been here. Like, oh, you look different. I'm like, yeah, it was three fucking years ago. Yeah, I've had four kids. Yeah. I've gained and lost 100 kilos. Like, they're like, wow, you look amazing.
Starting point is 00:18:50 I'm like, yeah. You've had my car for a decade. I've been catching the bus all this time. As you heard from Tony earlier. I've sold the loan car since you gave it to me. The loan car is in the shop for a service. me the loan car is in the shop for a service i've given the loan car to my 18 year old son who needs a car i'll upgrade myself thank you and as tony said earlier she's fine with it all good we're all fine with it we're not really
Starting point is 00:19:17 talking about it's all good do you think you said the line so quickly that you didn't have time to get anxious about it yeah is so and is there something in that i think there might be i just didn't give myself a chance to like talk yourself out of it yeah because i was just like oh fuck no and she cut it and it was wet at first yep and i went oh in my head i was like and then i was like you know what let's dry it let's see it it's crazy how different it is when it dries yeah totally and i was like already you know what, let's dry it. Let's see it. It's crazy how different it is when it dries, eh? Yeah, totally. And I was like, already a no.
Starting point is 00:19:47 And then she styled it and dried it up. And I was like, yeah, no, I'm a no. And she went, same, let's do the other thing. So do you feel like. I was like, oh, and then after we talked about it and I was like, oh, sorry. And she's like, no, bad black. I want you to look good. I'm here to do, I work for you.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Yeah. That's how this works. She's like, thank you for coming and trusting me she's like you know so what have you first of all i'm proud of you and that is brave thank you and i think everyone will be nodding being like look at this bitch grow yeah what have you learned from this what is the takeaway here how can you apply this in other parts of your life well i guess it's just that like people aren't going to be personally offended by something not being right like she'd done that for me and it wasn't not what i asked for you know it was she did what i said and then i was like yeah nah i'll cop that that's
Starting point is 00:20:38 a no like let's do the other thing i've heard similar with um so locky that with who works with zoe at greasy zoe yeah he used to work at a place and he's like a chef right yeah he's a chef and front of house at some fancier places yeah and i think he one of the baristas made a coffee that wasn't the best coffee they've ever made and he delivered it to the people and this guy like oh it's not the best coffee but kind of just like push through yeah. Yeah. And then there was a comment later and he was devo because he's like, I want you to leave here having a great experience. So if you'd told me, I could have fixed that up
Starting point is 00:21:13 and you would have been so happy. He's like, I'm so much more devastated that you didn't say anything. Yeah. Because if you had, he would have gone, oh, sorry, let me nail this next one. Yeah. Or, you know, when I was, oh, I thought it was a flat white with soy, but it was almond.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Yeah. Just some little thing that happens from time to time and he's like oh you would have got a better coffee i would have felt better because you would have left happy like everyone's a winner by just going oh sorry bro just a quick one and i think one of the best conversations that you and i had when we started working together slash started being friends because it all happened at the same time yeah was that i was like oh like is everything all good? And you were like, trust me, if something's wrong, if you've done something to piss me off or if we're, for whatever reason, not on the same page, you're like,
Starting point is 00:21:51 if something's wrong, I'll tell you. And that was the most freeing thing ever. Because the default is if I'm not telling you, then it is all good. I'm like, oh, there's obviously, yeah, but I was like, oh, maybe there's something wrong. And I'm like, oh, no, no, no. If there was something wrong, you would have told me. And vice versa now that I'm like, I will tell you if there's obviously, yeah, but I was like, oh, maybe there's something wrong. And I'm like, oh, no, no, no. If there was something wrong, you would have told me.
Starting point is 00:22:07 And vice versa now that I'm like, I will tell you if there's something wrong. And I think that if we're just all honest and then we don't have to make it weird. You know when sometimes you don't tell the truth and then you make it weird because you go, oh, that wasn't really, oh, I'm going to be weird. And it's way worse if you actually just like rip the bandaid off and say, yeah, I'm not really into that.
Starting point is 00:22:23 It's not weird and no one gets awkward. Yeah. Whereas if you sit there with your shit coffee for 20 minutes and then they go, oh, how was everything? You go, well, that coffee was strong. You go, oh, well, now you've made that weird. You've made that weird now. You've made that weird.
Starting point is 00:22:37 And imagine if Raquel cut my hair and I went, love the flicky fringe you've done. Then she watches the video show and she goes, well, she's gone home, cried in the car and done that at home in the bathroom. And she hasn't called me for five years since. Yeah, and she's never come back. What did I do wrong? She said she liked it. Yeah, she said she loved that.
Starting point is 00:22:55 That lying bitch. Yeah. So I reckon just be honest. It's actually fine. I love to see that. Yeah, me too. And that's not us getting out of your love to see it, by the way. Oh, no, it's not. I can see you going, great. No, no, no, no. I've to see that. Yeah, me too. And that's not us getting out of you love to see it by the way. Oh, no, it's not. I can
Starting point is 00:23:06 see you going, great. No, no, no, no, I've got a great one. I've got a great one. So is it too good to, is it going to trap mine? Cause mine's not that good. Oh, I don't know. I just thought this was really cute. It's very my area. Laura Miller posted this on our You Love To See It thread on Facebook. I've just texted
Starting point is 00:23:22 to you. And it says my French bulldog and her French fries. And it's a French bulldog wearing like a little McDonald's T-shirt. McNugget. Yeah, and then there's five little Frenchie puppies in French fry containers from Macca's, like a little large fries. And they're all sleeping because I've obviously just been born. And it is so fucking cute.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Little french fries. Isn't that adorable? Aren't puppies the greatest thing ever? Can't puppies fuck off? Yeah. How dare they? Have you watched Mustard Dogs on ABC, Ivy? No, no, I haven't.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Mustard Dogs? Yeah. Mustard? No, mustah. Oh! Mustard dog on a hot dog. Yeah, what did you think mustard dogs was? That's why I said mustard dogs?
Starting point is 00:24:12 So basically like a breed of like kelpies or like working dogs are born and each sibling gets delivered to a different farm and they all like train them up and they come back a year later and like compare notes and stuff. But when they're all first born, because you meet the mother and they're like feeding and the mum's like taking care of them. Is that hard for you that they've all met their mother? Well, they also got shipped off like me.
Starting point is 00:24:33 So it's like, that's why me and the master dogs have like a bond. Yeah. Sorry. I'm on a high from the honesty. Yeah. Yeah. A little too honest. Yeah. Sorry. I'm on a high from the honesty. Yeah. A little too honest. Yeah, sorry. A bit too honest.
Starting point is 00:24:50 So there's a line. That's good that we learned that. That sounds really cute. On Ibeview. Yeah. Ibeview. But you'd love it. And also.
Starting point is 00:24:58 That sounds so good. And this is actually getting into my love to see it. Oh, crossover. I'd hate to describe a Venn diagram, but. You know how like ages ago I talked about slow tv and i watched the gun oh yeah and there's like those um house making videos on like where they just like make bread and it's just a video of them making bread and no one talks and it's just beautiful yeah love that shit since we were a little bit tired earlier in the week and i was just relaxing at home, I've got into slow TV.
Starting point is 00:25:25 I love that you just said a little bit tired. The understatement of the fucking century. No one's resurfaced until now. Slow TV, but you can go and like, it's like someone with a GoPro attached to their chest and they're like, I'm going for a walk through the woods with my five dogs and that goes for five hours. And there's also one called Dog Beach
Starting point is 00:25:44 and a guy just sets up a camera on a dog beach and then just for three hours you can hear the water like crashing and there's just dogs walking up and down with their owners that is amazing bj loves it mabel fucking loves it because she loves dogs she's like that that that and then she also learned the dogs go woof so she's like that that woo woo and so obviously you're not supposed to have like, it's not overstimulating because it's just like a single shot. Yep. Really calm.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Yeah. And it's like walking pace because it's like, yeah. And then others are just like a locked off one shot for three hours. It's like the sun rises, you know, over the water. So it's on YouTube, just slow TV. Do you know what one I watched for a while was the live stream of the hawks in the West Pack building? Did you ever watch that one?
Starting point is 00:26:26 Yeah. And it was like the birds up in the bird's nest and they're like on a, and they, like the people in the West Pack building had set up a GoPro, but you can see all of Melbourne in the background, but you're literally just like watching these hawks and it's like, oh, when are they going to hatch? Yeah. There's like all these eggs in the thing. That one was so, I don't know if it's still going.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Cause obviously it's like new eggs because that was a couple of years ago, but that was like a good watch and you just find yourself like mesmerised by it. I was mesmerised by these dogs. And you're just like fucking watching this thing and it's like live. Imagine if you just went outside and looked at nature though. I guess it's like the. So my partner, Bridget, who I'm married to.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Yeah. Who is? Bridget, Bridget, who I'm married to, who is? Bridget. Bridget. Sydney Hubber Bridget. She said something pretty fucking hurtful to me. She looks at me. It's the honesty. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:27:16 And she looks at Bron and goes, you know you can take your own dog for a walk? Well, she knows where the dog is and she knows where outside is. She could do that herself. Sorry, I'm on your side. Thank you. I was like, isn't it just beautiful like walking through the bush with the dog? I'm like, we live five metres from the bush and you have a dog.
Starting point is 00:27:34 And the dog is on my lap right now. And wanting to go for a walk. It's just so nice and warm inside. You're like, oh, it's just so relaxing doing this. You're like, yeah, well, imagine. My steps are off the chart. Yeah. No, no judgment because I like it too.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Yeah, great. Okay, great. Thank you very much for listening. We'll be back tomorrow for Normal or Nah. Normal or Nah. Oh, hey, let me tell you what one of the Normal or Nahs is. Oh, we don't normally do a little, we don't normally do a preview for Normal or Nah, do we?
Starting point is 00:28:03 I'm so excited. It's my favourite day of the week. Normal or not? I thought you meant Wednesday when I hook the normal or not. Actually, no, fuck yeah. Oh, okay. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Honesty. See? Comes back around. Proud of you. Yeah, proud of you. Nice one. Beep, beep. We just touched fingers.
Starting point is 00:28:24 And we both beeped. Yeah. Yeah, we're like a button. That's what Mabel does when she touches Dad's one. Beep, beep. We just touched fingers. And we both beeped. Yeah. Yeah, we're like a button. That's what Mabel does when she touches Dad's nose. Beep. Yep. Love you.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Love you. Bye.
