This is Emily, Henley, and Sammy, and you're listening to Too Scary, Didn't Watch.
Hi everyone! Welcome to Too Scary, Didn't Watch, September bonus episode number two.
Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Mm-mm.
Mm-mm.
Mm-mm. Mm-mm.
Tastes so good.
Here we are.
Tony Heads,
you've sent us in
a lot of spooky ghost stories.
So many.
I'm impressed.
I'm very impressed
and very scared.
Seems like we got
a lot of proof of ghosts here. A lot of proof.
A lot of cold, hard proof.
And we did put a poll
up on our Instagram
about how many, what percent,
to try to really get to the bottom of what percentage
of people believe
in ghosts. And I think it ended
at about 60-40, which is not
too far off of 2 out of 3,
which is the percentage
here in this recording
Zoom. Exactly. And what
Emily predicted. And
you know what? It's a little bit
different from 99%. Slightly
off. It's slightly off
from 99%. But if you're rounding
up...
Eli Roth loves to round up
that's just what he does
okay well you know I'm
ready to be convinced
of the ghosts
I'm excited to go through these
stories and hear everyone I haven't read them yet
but man you guys are thorough
you guys are thorough you're so
thorough in fact they did the homework
they did the homework thank They did the homework.
Thank you for doing your homework.
This is, we're going to make two episodes, ghost story bonus episodes, because we got a lot of proof of ghosts, a lot of cold, hard facts, and we got to give it all it's due.
So this is going to be part one.
Maybe just give yourself a little spook break.
Calm down. Spook break. So that you can be ready for part two. Yeah, you'll get a two little spook break calm down
spook break so that you can be ready
for part two yeah you'll get a two
week spook break two week spook break
it sounds a lot like poop
break
you can poop on a spook break
we don't we don't
frown upon
that at all in fact you definitely
should you should if it's a two week break they should be pooping We don't frown upon that at all. In fact, you definitely should.
You should.
If it's a two-week break, there should be pooping happening.
If you haven't pooped at the end of your two-week spook break, consult your doctor.
We're going to be pretty spooked.
We'll be spooked if you haven't pooped in your two-week spook break.
There it is.
All right.
I love what we do.
I love what we do.
I love what we do.
I love what we do.
And at the end of this episode, Emily and I will share our own ghost stories.
But before we get to that, let's I think we just freaking dive right into all of these.
Are you guys ready to be spooked?
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'll ever be.
All right.
I'm going to start with a story submitted from Xander Brown.
Xander says, when I was about 12 years old, I was watching TV on the sofa after school.
This was in around 2008 when the film One Missed Call was having ads on TV.
I haven't seen it, but the premise is you receive a phone call that goes to voicemail and the voicemail is the sound of you dying.
Then you die. That's pretty scary.
That is scary.
I lived in a Kansas suburb and the living room had all these really tall windows that you could see into from quite a good distance away.
Nobody would be at the top house besides me until around 8 p.m.
Well, after the sun had set.
Usually I would get up to turn some lights on.
But that night I just stayed on the couch completely absorbed in the TV.
I hate when I accidentally do that.
When it becomes all of a sudden nighttime.
Yes. And then you have to walk
through the dark to turn the lights on. This is what we don't
like, you guys. This is what we don't like.
I definitely had
the thought that I should get up and turn on
the lights, but I was already too scared and figured
my mom would be home soon. Also,
the poster is
extremely creepy anyways it was after the sun had fully set that the phone started to ring
when i looked at the caller id all it said was don't answer i started screaming and trying to
call my mom or anyone but nobody else would answer i started wondering if someone was watching me
from the windows and trying to shoot me or come into the house or something.
Eventually, my mom came home
and we listened to the voicemail together. It was just
a call from a bank and in retrospect,
it likely said don't answer because of some
spam filter.
Despite this, part of me
is still convinced that I died that night and
everything since then has been a dream.
Oh, we are part of
your dreams, Xander. Thank you so much. Oh my god, I'm honored, we're part of your dreams. And I thank you so much.
Oh, my God.
I'm honored to be a part of somebody else's dream afterlife.
Don't answer is such a funny thing for your phone to put up for spam.
Oh, especially in 2008, like pre iPhone, you know, where you could label something like that.
Like in 2008, what kind
of phones are saying, don't answer?
No, but we had iPhones, right?
In 2008? I think that they...
No, maybe not. I certainly didn't.
I think that they came out
in 2007 or 2008.
Yeah, I don't know what kind of phone is saying, don't answer.
But that's tough. That's tough.
That's tough.
Xander, I'm glad
you made it. Hope you're alive.
Because if you're not, none of us
are, I guess, in this moment, in this reality.
Yeah, that means we're all
living in your dream.
All living in your dream, Xander.
But hey, much like the simulation,
if we're living in Xander's dream, I'm having
a good time. I'm having a good time. I like living in Xander's
dream. Yeah, you've done a good job, Xander. Xander, take this sound'm having a good time. I'm having a good time. I like living in Xander's dream.
Yeah, you've done a good job, Xander.
Xander, take this sound bite and turn it into your new ringtone.
Oh, OK.
That's a great idea.
Should we do the next one?
We should.
Yeah, Henley, you want to do Janine?
Sure.
Janine Fitzgerald.
OK.
So Janine writes, oh my gosh, I've been waiting so long to tell this story.
How long, Janine?
We're so excited to get to tell it for you.
All right.
My best friend and I were enjoying our dream trip to Egypt right before COVID-19 blew up.
Very cool.
We ended up having to cut it a couple of days short due to the pandemic, but it was still amazing.
During our tour, the guide let us know they had opened up a step pyramid of Djoser for the first time
in many years and asked us if we wanted to
go inside. Of course, we were all
like, fuck yeah we do. We ended
up going into the pyramid on, I can't believe
I'm actually writing this, Friday
the 13th of March 2020.
I like how that is written out
all, yeah, very
clear. That was a big Friday the 13th, a big one.
Yeah, that was a real one.
This particular pyramid is not at the Pyramid Complex of Giza, but out in Memphis, and we
were basically the only people there.
If you've never been inside of a pyramid, well, let me tell you, it's dark, hot, and
claustrophobic.
Due to this reason, about half of our tour of 15 didn't want to go inside.
Keep in mind, Cairo had experienced record rainfall and flooding, so the power was out everywhere.
We basically only had our cell phones to use as flashlights.
Very spooky.
This is sounding too much like Spelungine to me.
Yeah.
I'm getting some as-above-so-below vibes, too.
Exactly.
While we're all in there and we're looking at cool stuff on the walls and taking in the creep factor,
and I feel like someone's looking over my shoulder.
And it also felt like there are people crowding all around me.
I look up and no one's around me.
No.
I wasn't scared necessarily, but I got a serious case of the nopes and had to get out of the pyramid.
I like serious case of the nopes.
That's great.
Not long after I left, my bestie came out, walked over to me and said, were there a lot of people in there?
I replied, yes, but not people.
Right.
She agreed and said she had been walking around while looking down at her phone and felt a hand that grabbed her elbow and steered her around a big stone column so that she didn't run into it.
She turned around to thank her tourmate, but no one was there.
We both sat and digested that tidbit of knowledge for a bit.
We decided that whatever spirits were down there were just super stimulated by the new recent activity.
Also, if you think about it, the ancient Egyptians were brilliant people,
and they probably wanted to know what the fuck we were looking at when we were using our glowing stone tablets cell phones they probably hadn't seen them before and we're really curious
about them i can see ancient egyptians wholly embracing cell phone culture we're still not sure
what it was but there's definitely something that pyramid but that something was super polite
curious and helpful oh wow what a like what a, like, empathetic,
kind reading of these...
I love this ghost story. These ghosts.
Yeah, this is great. I also,
that's the thing I fucking love about
ghost stories. There's stories like this where it's
like, you have a feeling, and you,
but you keep it to yourself, and then
somebody else has that same
feeling that they kept, like, coming together
being like, wait, you also experienced, like, that's the shit that they kept like coming together being like wait you also experience
like that's the shit that I'm like I don't
know man something they felt something
yeah both of them
both of them felt something
I gotta say
I don't I don't believe in ghosts
yet
yet but when I
was little there were a couple times in
my house where I really felt like someone like touched me and like on the shoulder or something.
And no one was there.
And I don't I think I you know, I think it's all in my head still.
But like I've had that feeling before, you know, where you like feel like someone's like there.
I have had that feeling.
I'd be surprised if anyone I have had that feeling. I'd be surprised if anyone
hadn't had that feeling.
Even if you're just like
creeped out from watching a scary movie
and then you're like looking over your shoulder.
I feel like everyone knows that
feeling, right?
Yeah, but I don't know. There's something different about feeling like
someone's present and feeling like someone like touches
you. Do you know what I mean?
Yeah, like a ghost. You interacted
with ghosts. I'm
still not convinced. Okay.
Okay. Well, Henley,
let's
see if we can convince you with
some of these
stories. This one is
from Sam.
