I'm Mike from torontomike.com, and this is the long-awaited volume 14 of FOTMT-J. The cat calls through the night
And two chicks in the parking lot
Crack wives on the price of fame
They stood to gain
The phone books, they ripped off
And two shapes in the dark
Across the way
No, the price of flight
It's weight and size
If you've got something
That sheds some light
Use it tonight
Tonight Heads down, thumbs up
Two sips from the cup of human kindness
And I'm shit-faced
Just laid to waste
So wait here, wait up
Stock tips from credit checks
Come next in the logics line
And all on my dime
If you've got will and a little time
Use it tonight Tonight
You had to send a wrecking crew after me
I can't walk right
You had to send a wrecking crew after me
I can't walk right
Hey Mike, it's Neil from Toronto to kick out another jam.
Sticking to a Canadian theme from my earlier selections,
I discovered this band on the soundtrack to the somewhat regrettable Paul Gross movie, Men With Brooms. I was really drawn by the harmonies from this band.
It's a cut from their 2005 album, Twin Cinema.
These are the new pornographers with Use It. Choose it tonight, tonight
You had to send your wrecking crew after me
I can't walk right
You had to send your wrecking crew after me
I can't walk right, I can't walk right
Use it tonight

Thumb rings once
Thumb rings twice
Thumb rings three times Hey Mike, Hey, Mike.
I already submitted one entry that you played back on the FOTM KOTJ Volume 3,
and I'd thought about submitting another, but forgot to.
I've been really enjoying your pandemic podcasts,
Bro Jake and, of course, the boys on Pandemic Fridays,
and really enjoyed this week's Brother Bill episode,
which inspired me to submit another selection. You and I are about the same vintage, Mike. I grew up a huge hip fan, but that waned as I moved into my early 30s and I didn't really appreciate the
second half of the catalog as much as I should have. After Gord's death, like a lot of people,
I rediscovered the hip and I began to appreciate their newer material. In fact, I really enjoy the Bob Rock albums. The Fully Completely Podcast with Greg and Jamie has
opened my mind and allowed me to hear songs differently. Songs I didn't hear before. So I
should have sent this selection a few weeks ago. Greg and Jamie came to the conclusion that Gord
wrote this song as a tribute to his mom and I absolutely love this song so as a belated happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there this is in
view thanks Mike I do
I do
I do
I do
Day of race is dark of night An excited state's gone in plain sight

You are in everything I do guitar solo
She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stay too long
I'll probably break down and cry
Oh, sweet child of mine
Oh, sweet love of mine.
Hi Mike, Kevin in Alberta here.
Just heard the plea from you and Brother Bill to submit more FOTM requests, so here I am.
This song here is taking me back to my high school days.
I actually used the lyrics in this song as a calligraphy project in my grade 9 art class. I actually took the grade 9 art class in grade
11 because in order to graduate Ontario High School I needed to have at least one art or
music credit and not being musically inclined or even artistic I had to try something so
I used lyrics from this song and by the, it also has one of the most recognizable opening riffs of any song that I can think of.
So please enjoy this one.
Guns N' Roses, Sweet love of mine Oh, yeah

From the corner.
I caught your name in a conversation.
Playing hard to get.
I can't understand.
When I look at you, I see the story in your eyes.
When we're dancing, the night begins to shine.
The night begins to shine.
The night begins to shine.

Субтитры сделал DimaTorzok Hey, it's Jason from Sudbury, and I chose to do something a little bit different for you guys.
So, the band is called The Who.
Obviously, not as in classic rock band The Who, which I'm sure you guys have figured this out by now.
But rather, Mongolian heavy metal band, The Who.
These guys spell it H-U.
And I don't know if it's an acronym for something,
because if you look it up online,
they actually spell it all in caps.
H-U is all in caps.
So anyway, they've been around for a couple years now.
I only discovered these guys recently.
Actually, the song that I chose for you guys,
I believe it's pronounced U-V-U-V-U, or is it U or is it Uwe Uwe U? I'm not 100% sure on that one.
But I first heard this on Octane a couple of weeks ago on Sirius.
Now the version you'll hear on Octane is the second version,
so the band decided to release another version of this with some English parts.
They brought in Danny Case, who's in a band called From Ashes to New, and he contributed
the English vocals on this.
Now, I chose the original, and even though I can't understand the language, nonetheless,
I think it's a really cool and catchy tune, and I dig the instruments.
There's some really cool instruments on this, and the Mongolian throat singing is pretty
cool as well Субтитры создавал DimaTorzok We won't give up. We won't give up. That touch my heart It's not the way you kiss
That tears me apart
Many, many, many nights go by
I sit alone at home and cry over you
What can I do?
Don't want nobody, nobody
Cause baby, it's you
Baby, it's you
Baby, it's you Is it true what they say
All about you
They say you'll never, ever, never
Be true They say you'll never, ever, never be true It doesn't matter what they say
I know I'm gonna love you any old way
What can I do without you?
Don't want nobody, nobody
Baby, it's you
Baby, it's you
Baby
Hi Mike, my name is Craig and the title of my song is Baby It's You
and it's by a California group called Smith
and the only reason I'm requesting this song
is due to the outstanding performance
from the lead singer, the late Gail McCormick
Enjoy
I know I'm gonna look in the open
What can I do
Without you
Don't want nobody, nobody
Baby, it's you
Baby, it's you Baby, it's you
Don't leave me alone
Come on home
Baby, it's you
Baby, it's you Baby, it's you
You know I need your loving
You know I love your heart
Baby, it's you guitar solo Did you check us out Down at your local show Were you wearing denim
Wearing leather
Did you run down to the front
Did you go for your tickets
Through the ice and snow
Denim and leather
Brought us all together
Through the show
That's at the Spirit Parade Thank you. Yeah, yeah of those bands I'm still fans of. Iron Maiden came over at that time, Def Leppard. One of the bands that still to this day is one of my favorites, they're still
going strong, making new music, is a band called Saxon.
A lot of their songs have historical significance, mythological references, etc.
But one of the songs that really still epitomizes
what we as 15, 16 year olds at the time were thinking
was a song called Denim and Leather.
Here it is. Crank it up. Yeah, yeah, yeah
Do you crave a freeing guitar?
Or smashing out the drums?
Maybe you can learn to play the bass
You can always be a singer
Like me, let's break the band
We're on the stage street We wait at your command
Damn love
But it's all together
It was you that set this very place
Damn love
But it's all together
In the shell, it's a sadness driven dream guitar solo It was you, you, you, you
That set those spirits afire
It was you, you, you, you
That put us here today
It was you, you, you, you
That filled the cousin hall
It was you, you, you, you
That set the spirit free
And ever and ever
But it's all together
If you wish you, let's set this thing free
Denim and leather, but it's all together
If you wish you, let's set this thing free
Denim and leather, but it's all together Thank you. It was you that set the spirit free It was you that set the spirit free Thank you. Well, I've been up to Paris
And I slept in a park
Went down to Barcelona
Someone broke in my car
And I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, I'll search the world over
For a Euro trash girl
Took the train down to Athens
And I slept in a fountain
Some Swiss junkie in a turret
Ripped me off on my couch
Rip me off of my couch Yeah, search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, search the world over
For a Euro trash girl
The CRS on the metro
Shook me down for a bribe
On my knees for the sergeant
On my knees for the sergeant When my passport arrived
Yeah, search the world over
For my angel in black
Yeah, search the world
over
for a Euro trash
girl
Euro trash girl
Euro trash girl
Euro trash girl You're a trash girl
You're a trash girl
Called my mom from a payphone
I said I'm down to my last
She said I sent you to college
Now go call your dad
And the waitress that he married
Well, she hung up the phone You know she never did like me
But I can stand on my own
Sold my plasma in Amsterdam
Spent it all in a night
Buying drinks at the milk bed
For a soldier in drag
And I'll search the world over for my angel in black.
Yeah, I'll search the world over for a Euro trash girl.
For a Eurotrash Girl Eurotrash Girl
Eurotrash Girl
Eurotrash Girl
My Eurot Trash Girl
Hey, it's Ron. I'm Mike.
Chris and East York here.
In 1993, I saw Cracker open for Soul Asylum.
Girlfriend at the time wanted to go see Runaway Train.
Not the greatest decision, but
listening to Cracker,
the next day I went and bought Kerosene Hat.
Sort of the CD that taught me about secret tracks,
with that or never mind it anyway.
Maybe it's because I knew the relationship
was never going to work with someone,
the complete opposite of an angel in black,
and maybe it's because my parents were divorced
and I didn't like my dad's wife.
Maybe I appreciated the romance of selling
your plasma and Amsterdam,
whatever it was when that track 69,
which is the hidden track number, came out of nowhere, and I heard You're a Trash Girl for the first time, and
for me, it was love at first listen. Be well. Got a tattoo in Berlin
And a case of the crabs
A rose and a dagger
On the palm of my hand
And I'll search the world over
For my angel in black
For my angel in black Yeah, I searched the world over
For a Euro trash girl
Euro trash girl
Euro trash girl You're a trash girl
You're a trash girl
You're a trash girl
You're a sexual devil
You're a sexual devil
For my age to live black
Yes, it's the world I've owned
For a year of trash talk guitar solo guitar solo
Wake me when the day breaks
Show me how the sun shines
Tell me about your heartache
Who could be so unkind
Do you dream to touch me
And smile down deep inside
Or could you just kill me
It's hard to make up your mind sometimes
My angels, my devils
Are falling in my pride
My angels, my devils
Are falling in my pride guitar solo
Are you wanting inspiration?
You spill your secrets on me
Then you tell me with a whisper
Of things that'll never be
Do you hear me breathing?
Does it make you wanna scream?
Did you ever like a bad dream?
Yeah, sometimes life is obscene
My angels, my devils
Are thorn in my pride
My angels, my devils, baby
Are thorn in my pride
My angels, my devils, for them I'm proud My angels, my devils, for them I'm proud
My angels, my devils, for them I'm proud
Mother, cover me with your sleep
Cover me with your sleep.
Let your love light shine, let it shine.
Love, cover me with a good dream.
Oh, let your love light, oh, let your love light shine. Hey, Mike.
Al Grego here, a.k.a.
Alderall Payne.
I hope you're keeping well during this pandemic, and I hope all the fellow FOTMs are doing
the same.
You haven't put out an FOTM kick out the jams in a while, so I'm wondering if maybe you're
waiting on an entry or two.
So I thought I'd submit another one of my entries.
This one goes back to 1992 I was a senior in high school big time into southern rock into
the Jayhawks and Izzy Stradlin and of course the Black Crows were leading the way Shake Your
Moneymaker was huge my high school band played so many tracks off of that album. But when this album came out, Southern Harmony and Musical Companion,
such a solid album from beginning to end.
So many great tracks on it.
Sting Me, Remedy, Sometimes Salvation.
So many great tracks.
But my favorite track off that album is Thorn in My Pride.
I can't get enough of it, even today.
So I'm going to kick out this jam, Thorn in My Pride,
by the Black Crows. Enjoy. Love, oh, love, I feel this I'm taking in
Let your love light shine, let it shine
Love, oh, love, I feel this I'm sleeping
Ooh, let your love, my body shine, let it shine.
Angels, my devils, and the thorns in my body.
Angels, me, devils, me, thorns in my body.
Angels, my devils, my throne and my pride
Angels and devils and my throne and my pride
Throne and my pride guitar solo Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio oio o Something filled up my heart
With nothing
Someone told me not to cry
Now that I'm older
My heart's colder
And I can't see that it's alive It's funny, but when I first put out the call for FOTMs to kick out the jams, I asked you to record yourself for, I don't know,
30 to 60 seconds talking about a song you loved.
And then I asked you to email that clip to me at mike at torontomike.com.
And for the first, you know, seven or eight weeks of the pandemic,
I was getting approximately 20 jams a week,
which is kind of amazing when I look back.
That means that very quickly I got to volume 13.
That's, you know, 130 jams submitted by FOTMs.
Sure, a few FOTMs submitted more than one,
but still quite the amazing response.
And I thoroughly enjoyed putting together
not one but two episodes of FOTM KOTJ a week.
I think I was dropping one every Saturday morning
and every Wednesday morning for a while.
And then suddenly it all dried up.
It was all at once.
And part of that is I think I stopped hustling.
I stopped reaching out and begging for jams.
And also maybe it just sort of played itself out.
But I've had, you know, seven or eight jam kickings
just sitting around waiting for an issue
and I wanted to drain the swamp.
So my boy, my boy Jarvis, stepped up.
He kicked out another jam, and then I thought I'd finish it off and get us to 10.
So here's a song that every time I hear it,
it just brings me joy, brings me hope.
I just love it.
It's epic.
It's an epic jam, and it's by a great Canadian band, Arcade Fire.
And this is Wake Up. Thank you. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, With my lightning bolts a-glowin' I can see where I am goin'
With my blinding bones of gold
I can see where I am
Go, go where I am
