Starting point is 00:01:30 Joining me this week under the stars in my backyard are Stu Stone. Yes. Andy Palalas. Affirmative. From Canacabana and a couple of very special guests. Canada Kev is here. Hey, hey. And Kareem is threatening to drop by later.
Starting point is 00:01:50 He heard there were free samples here. He's not going to miss that. But welcome to my backyard, gentlemen. It's my first backyard visit of the season. Oh, I thought you were making a joke. No, not ever. We've had some moments back here. Yeah, but this is the first one of the season.
Starting point is 00:02:03 This is only the third one anyone's had. This is my third time out here. But also, I want to point out that coming here not only to see Andy and the Canada Cabana discussion, but also if I'm ever going to top Cam Gordon's appearance record, I got to get in these types of appearances here. Well, on that note, Cam Gordon, get over here. Just kidding.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Cam was not invited here. Andy, this that note, Cam Gordon, get over here! Just kidding. Cam was not invited here. Andy, this is your second Toronto Mic appearance. We kicked out the cannabis jams last time you were here. What was the feedback like regarding that episode? Oh, man, it was a fun episode. Feedback from
Starting point is 00:02:39 both my mother and my wife. Whoa! That's a big two. Yeah, yeah, that's a big two. That's all you needed. No, it was great, man. I love that show. And I've got the variety pick now too, right? That was in the basement. This is outside the backyard. Next season on the roof.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Yeah, I would do that. Now, Canada Kev, you've been to TMLX events, including TMLX 8, which featured Liz versus Stu. But this is your first time at the TMDS studio. So kind of you're making your debut here. Yes, that's correct, Mike. I know. And you're in the rough spot, because for you to get on that mic
Starting point is 00:03:11 is you've got to curve your back pretty good there. But good to see you, and you brought gifts for my kids. Yeah, just a couple fun things for them. What was the gifts that he brought? He brought, well, you brought, you tell us. A little beanie baby that's a Grateful Dead dancing bear. Come on.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Called Shake Down the Street. I planned that better. Yeah, hey. And a little couple remote, what do you call them, drones. He brought drones. What? I know. Go sit around.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Invite the guy to come over, smoke some weed, hear some jams. Okay, well, drones. Stu, don't feel left out, buddy. Wait. Stu, I got something for you, buddy. Wait. Stu, I got something for you, too. Okay, Canada Cat.
Starting point is 00:03:46 How inexpensive is a drone that you're able to, like, how much can you get a drone for now? Because I thought drones were like a thousand bucks. About the cost of about an eighth.
Starting point is 00:03:54 This guy's got cash. He's got cash. It's a barter system, right? Yeah, I mean, just wow. For those? What I mean to say is I didn't realize that drones were
Starting point is 00:04:02 at a price point where you could just buy them for kids. That's amazing. Okay. So for those who are not watching on the live stream, Canada Cab just- Shame on you if you're not. Live.torontomic.com.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Canada Cab just handed Stu a bag. It's a nice bag. Pretty bag. Possibly like a hemp rope on there. What's going on? Okay. Open that up, Stu. I want to hear it.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Got some weight to it. This is just a little something to celebrate how we are related in one of our ways. Oh my goodness. Is this a DNA? It kind of. Yeah, I did 23andMe and it came up that you're my brother. It's Kev Eisenstein. Wouldn't be the first time. Kevin Eisenstein.
Starting point is 00:04:37 We are brothers in name. So I found this as I am a steward as well. Really? And my grandparents were both Stuarts. Wow, look at this. So one was a Stuart with a U. Well, what is a Stuart? And the other was a Stuart with the EW.
Starting point is 00:04:51 This is incredible. And so they had these, I have no idea where they came from. They came from Scotland. Wait a minute. From like decades ago. And I see them down in the basement. I go, okay, I got to figure out how to fix these letters. It's pretty janky looking or whatever.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Is that a coat of arms? Oh, yeah, there's a little bit of wood on it too of wood on it too sorry rolling on the back for a little while hey i got lots of tools in my tool me and every dvd case i've ever had exactly this is awesome so the ew stewart one is a little bit wrecked completely but that's the stewart tart this is really sweet right buddy so i'm my middle name stewart so i will hang this with pride. Thank you very much. That's so cool. That's very thoughtful. No problem, man.
Starting point is 00:05:29 I owe you a gift now. No, no. No, no. I keep score on these things. So I'll make sure that next time I see you, I won't be, I won't come empty handed. Don't worry about it. I just love finding things that I have that I know would bring somebody else joy. So this is really cool.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Thank you so much. You're welcome. You have a grandmother named Andy? No sorry great aunt great aunt auntie andy yeah yeah unbelievable uh i don't know what to say other than thank you and uh this is a beautiful for i'm going to describe it for people who aren't watching uh there's a wooden circle about the size of a giant cookie that you could buy at like a jewish bakery like a giant cookie right you could buy at like a Jewish bakery, like a giant cookie, right? And it's got one, two, three, four, five, six like nail heads in it, I guess.
Starting point is 00:06:13 I know it, yeah. Then it's got like a commemorative sort of like placard. It says something in Latin. It's got like- Nemo. Nemo mi impune la sese, which means I love you, Stuart. That's amazing, Kevin. And there's like a piece of like game-used Rowdy Roddy Piper kilt.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Stuart, you're going to be host for like five minutes, okay? You're a host now. Sure. So catch up. Find out what's new at Canada Cabana. I'll be right back. I'm going to see if I have a splitter in my basement. Okay, you look for a splitter.
Starting point is 00:06:42 It's in the splitter drawer. I guess this is a good chance since I wasn't on the last episode with you. Stu, I got to say, man, I've been hearing lots about you. Excited to be on the call with you here. I hear you're a lover of all things marijuana. Well, I mean, I'm a lover of all things, period. I'm just like a lover, not a
Starting point is 00:06:57 fighter. I see. One of those types. I appreciate that. But Cannon Cabana has popped up, obviously, everywhere in the last couple years. Yeah, you know, listen, we're aiming for your neighborhood if you're listening. How do you go from zero to a hundred that quickly? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:07:14 there's a song in there somewhere. But yeah, I mean, you know, we started in the cannabis industry really in 2009 as an accessory shop. So I don't know if you're, are you a Bond guy, Stu, or a joint guy? I'm a little bit of everything. A little bit of, you don't discriminate. I don't discriminate. You like it all, I get that. Sure. Yeah, that's cool. So I don't know if you're, are you a bong guy, Stu, or a joint guy? I've a little bit of everything. A little bit of, you don't discriminate. I don't discriminate. You like it all, I get that. Sure. Yeah, that's cool. So, I mean, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:30 we got our first head shop started in 2009 and we're in the, you know, cannabis accessory world for a long time. Bongs, pipes, vaporizers, stores in Bickelhat over here. I think a stores in Bickel vaporizer over here. Lots of, lots of those sold through our various stores. Great vaporizers too. Fantastic. Quality. So we did that really until 2018 when we converted a number of our stores into Canna Cabana and really got things rolling. So what did it used to be called? It was called Smoker's Corner. Smoker's Corner. A corner where you could go to procure smoking paraphernalia. And now it's Canna Cabana. Right. And I should clarify, in those times it was for tobacco. Well, how many head shops were there? You know, at our height, I think we were at around 18,
Starting point is 00:08:10 right? So certainly. Okay, so you're still from 18 to 100. Yeah, it's been a few. If my math is correct, that's a lot of stores. Yeah, it's true. You know, I mean, what can I say? Since 2018, we've got a relentlessly ambitious founder uh ambitious founder raj who started he founded the original head shop back in 2009 and grew this business organically can you imagine he started one head shop he has got a lot of energy now he's got an empire yep that's it and we uh you know we're all just we're all just keeping up with raj and and you know we keep opening stores and new locations and the feedback's been really positive people like the best weed at the best price is what I'm hearing. So, wait, 2018, was that the year that everything went legal?
Starting point is 00:08:49 Yeah, we went legal in 2018. So, we're 17th. Oh, you know the date. It's the day before my birthday. Nice. That makes it easier. 2018, though? Yeah, 18.
Starting point is 00:08:59 So, you guys were ready to go. We were ready to go, man. And, you know, I think even more importantly, like, we kind of got cannabis cannabis users, you know what I mean? Like a lot of people got into cannabis, only a few of them really knew and got cannabis users. And so that was kind of part of our, part of our, let's call it winning edge in the beginning. And, you know, there's been a lot of changes in cannabis, just like in any business over the last few years, but packaging. Sure. Yeah. Well, yeah, you need, you need, uh, you need a real doctorate to figure out how to open some of these packages getting better now it must be said but um but you know
Starting point is 00:09:29 maybe that's really been our secret for the last three years is keeping on focusing on cannabis so how many stores did you have in 18 18 oh we opened with i mean same as everyone man one at a time you know so literally you opened 81 stores? Sure. There's a couple of business transactions and acquired stores and stuff along the way. And are you in every province? We're not. No. So today we're here in Ontario, Stu.
Starting point is 00:09:54 You can probably find one. 100 locations just in Ontario? Okay. Sounds about right. Yeah. We're getting close to 40 in Ontario. Wow. Oh.
Starting point is 00:10:04 We're playing a thing. Don't let me interrupt. Keep talking. We're playing a thing. Don't let me interrupt. Keep talking. We're in Alberta, too. We've got lots of locations. That's where we started. Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Wow.
Starting point is 00:10:12 That's impressive. And Mike, just know that if you ever need to take some time off to go camping again, I could be Jay Leno and fill in for Carson and eventually just take over this fucking I think I just lost my gig. Yeah, because we just had a great opportunity. Toronto Stude. I'm not going to lie. Toronto Stude.
Starting point is 00:10:24 You've got big shoes to fill.. I'm not going to lie. Toronto Stude. You got big shoes to fill. Although I'm not a trash human. Well, let me update the FOTMs and what I've been up to. I found a splitter. So I'm patting myself on the back. I found an extension cord for the headphones. Kareem is now wired up. Kareem is now listening to the jams.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I decided let's do some Tom Petty. I thought Canada Kev might enjoy some. jams. I decided let's do some Tom Petty. I thought Canada Kev might enjoy some. Little starter jam here. We're going to kick out a whole bunch of jams. Stu sent me some. Kev sent me some. I've got some. Stu, you want to tease the jam we're going to
Starting point is 00:10:59 play later? Is that a new song by you? Sounds like you just buried the lead. Was that a surprise? I think I promoted it. Well, there you go. Tom Petty though. Yeah. Did you meet him? I saw him live, but I never met him. Oh, you did see him live? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:15 I bought two wonderful tickets for my wife and I to go see Tom Petty about seven years ago, and we mixed up the date. Totally slept through the concert. Oh my God. Damn, damn. That's not good. Was that with Steve Winwood? Just a Tom Petty concert here in Toronto. It was like $500 of tickets.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Just away we go. Yikes. You literally slept at home through it, though, not slept at the concert. No, no. Certainly not. No, no. We were ready to go. How old did they get?
Starting point is 00:11:39 We had an outfit. We had the whole thing ready to go, but no, we slept through it. Yeah, it was great. This is an interesting song, though, because that line, let's get to the point, let's roll another joint, that was like for a mainstream kind of song, you didn't hear, you know, you
Starting point is 00:11:54 heard rappers and people kind of talking about weed and stuff, and of course Bob Dylan and whatnot in the past, but this was like Tom Petty radio hit, and you had let's get to the point, let's smoke another joint or roll it, whatever he says. It was normalizing it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Yet at the same time, they call it Last Dance with Mary Jane, so they use the old kind of euphemistic. Different song, though. Oh, yeah, sorry, yes. But yes, he had that same era, yes. Tom Petty was very cannabis friendly. Yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah, man, I mean, I think a lot of great artists over the last 30, 40 years were probably. 30, 40, 100 years.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Yeah. a lot of great artists over the last 30, 40 years were. 30, 40, 100 years. Yeah. Hey, Kareem, if you have something you want to say, just tap Kev on the shoulder and he'll shift over. Or you can even grab the handle of that thing and just, you know. I want to hear how Kareem has this Storrs and Bickle hat. What's the story behind that, Kareem?
Starting point is 00:12:37 Okay, get on that mic and tell us here. Hold that mic and just get in front of that thing. Well. And don't pull the rug there. Everybody wants to see you. Sorry, that was an accident. About the hat, yes. Thank you for telling me
Starting point is 00:12:56 what it is. Yes. Oh, that's funny. Yes. I knew that it was cannabis related. Yes. Because it was given to me at a dispensary. I knew that it was cannabis-related. Yes. Because it was given to me at a dispensary.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I see. There you go. That was your first clue. And I was like, man, I'm going to find out who these guys are because I'm walking around town advertising them. But you knew it meant weed good. Yes. Nice.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Nice. That's a very honest story. I was passed down from my father and his father before him and they like to smoke weed there's definitely an influx in ontario of complimentary cannabis company caps they have tote bags 40 years of prohibition to make up for man exactly a lot of swag to get out there. Seriously. Whoever's in the swag business is probably doing pretty well. I got swag socks delivered to my house the other day. They say Cannacabed on them? No, they were from a licensed producer, someone who makes cannabis here in Canada.
Starting point is 00:13:55 But just the socks. I knew that was bold. Speaking of socks, cannabis stocks. Oh. What's up with those? Cannabis stocks. Oh. What's up with those?
Starting point is 00:14:11 You know, cannabis stocks, it's an interesting and volatile world in the world of the stock markets anywhere. You would think that it would just be like, shh. You know, results are all we can focus on as a public company, right? Like, all we can focus on is being our best business we possibly can. Wait, is Cannabina a public company? We are. Oh, I didn't even know that. I better buy that. I better buy some.
Starting point is 00:14:27 H-I-T-I, my friend. I better buy some. We focus on being the best company we possibly can. Obviously, the stock market is interesting everywhere you go in any industry right now. But, you know, I mean, again, we focus on our fundamentals. I like those green chip stocks. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Good shade of green. How's Aunt Sandy doing? That's a great segue. My aunt, just for context. Speaking of green chips. She's 95 years old. Oh. About to be 96, as one would.
Starting point is 00:14:55 And she's still very much, I would describe her as a Joe Pesci kind of older lady. Nice. She's got all the attitude. She's very, you know, she walks and she's with it and she still wants to go to the racetrack. Maybe I can convince her to try some can of cabana. Oh, man. You know what?
Starting point is 00:15:17 The amount of, like, grown, like, elderly people and grown people who have never consumed cannabis before that, you know, we've introduced to cannabis. It's been a pretty exciting and fun part of this role. That's got to be the best part of it. It's pretty good. I showed up at an Easter thing with a bunch of... So Tweed, a company here in Canada, a cannabis brand here in Canada.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Tweed makes these great little fizz beverages. And I showed up at an Easter event. Family Easter event. Straight-laced people all over the place. Everyone was trying these beverages. Like it's just, what did they like them? Yeah. You know, the flavor is good and, and, and it's a really gentle way to try THC. You know, part of the fun part of the fun part of cannabis right now is all of these new little innovations that are allowing people to try it out without it being intimidating, you know, smoking a joint and hitting a bong and a vaporizer, that stuff can be intimidating
Starting point is 00:16:07 to some people, right? Especially an older generation. But, I mean, you get a beverage in there, you get a little gummy, a little sweet little gummy. Yeah, people are digging on that. I mean, the thing that really impresses me the most is that there's still this sort of stigma for my age and above, right? People who are born in the 70s, early 80s, whatever, and above,
Starting point is 00:16:27 where there's still this stigma about weed that they have to, like, shake off. I agree with you. I mean, I grew up in a totally, like, liberal household, and it was smoke in front of me. Like, you know, I remember my mom having friends over. They'd be sitting there separating stems and seeds, listening to albums. That's different. And brings music into it, of course, and shit like that.
Starting point is 00:16:50 But I still, all my life, was the person looking over my shoulder and being concerned about getting into trouble for it. You shouldn't have to, even knowing all that stuff. I would say there's a lot more curiosity. Well, that's what I'm saying. This stigma also results in opening up this forbidden door now because now it's legal. It's the same as having a beer or a glass of wine.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Now you have people that were afraid of it for so long because of just saying no and all that stuff. And now they're trying cannabis for the first time in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s. And I would say probably most of them like it. The biggest myth we were told was it was a gateway drug. Right. This was the big thing.
Starting point is 00:17:30 You smoke some weed, you're going to be shooting heroin in your veins next week. Yeah, I mean, you know, there's been a lot of compelling evidence that cannabis can be a really useful thing to help fight some of the opioid crisis stuff that we're dealing with in this country and in North America. But, you know, what's funny is like the innocuous way that, that folks, my entire life, you know, growing up, we're like my father, whatever it is, uh, will approach me now and be like, so tell me a little bit about this, uh, you know, about the thing you do, the cannabis, you know, and nowadays it's like, yes. Okay. Let me get you a gummy. It's two milligrams. Try this,
Starting point is 00:17:59 have it before bed. You'll feel great. Um, and, uh, you know, it's, it's been a really fun time watching people kind of creep out of the woodwork and ask me about cannabis. And I love talking about it. So, yeah. Okay. Now's my chance to ask my good friend, my neighbor, Kareem. Kareem, when did you start smoking weed? About three o'clock this afternoon. Not 420? I smoked my first joint probably when I was 16.
Starting point is 00:18:22 That sounds about right. I broke my first joint probably when I was 16. That sounds about right. And what can I say? I fell in love. Love at first puff. Oh, that first feeling of walking on the moon. Like that, you never forget that.
Starting point is 00:18:40 And you've been chasing it ever since. All of my senses just opened up. And suddenly music, I was hearing instruments in the song that I'd never heard before. And that was it for me. I was like, I'm doing this forever. Wow. But I noticed you guys were talking about the stigma. And I got to tell you that that has brought a lot of personal pain to me.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Because of myself and somebody I'm very close to. Even though it's perfectly legal now, the stigma still gives them high anxiety if they feel somebody's going to see them smoking a joint. And I've had too many arguments to count over that particular subject because my feeling is if you're not embarrassed
Starting point is 00:19:19 to be seen with a beer in your hand, you shouldn't feel any way about being seen with a joint. Well, that's what I mean about that stigma. So it's like young people don't give a shit. It's people who are 40 and above that still would be like, oh, he's that dope? You know, like my mom still calls it dope.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Right. Right? My nephews probably, I don't know, it's normal. Put it that way. The whole generation that's growing up under us, they're going to grow up in a whole different world where weed is like birthday cake or fucking getting a... But Stu, if we can normalize people of a certain age to Facebook,
Starting point is 00:19:55 eventually, we're only three years in, man. I feel like very near term, people are becoming acclimated to this. It's in every town. It's in a lot know can't a lot of cannabis stores in canada and so it's just it's a matter of time before it's just as normalized as beer well also i thought like with the retail element you know when i was in high school i would never dream you know naz had that song imagine smoking weed in the street without cops harassing that was imagine it now it's official i was I was in New York City a few weeks ago,
Starting point is 00:20:27 and Times Square is like Weed Square. Like, everybody is smoking weed in New York City. The whole city smells like weed. You can't walk two feet without someone trying to sell you weed. They have ice cream trucks that are weed trucks. Everything is weed in New York now. It's insane how open it is. Whereas two years ago, you would have been arrested in New York now it's insane how open it is whereas two years ago you would have been arrested in New York thrown in jail for weed now I was a
Starting point is 00:20:51 couple of my friends we were outside of about to go into a concert and there was some police around and they were like oh we shouldn't do this I'm like I think it's legal and because we didn't know and then I went over to the police officer and I said excuse me what's the deal with marijuana? And they're like, go ahead, light up. And everybody does. And then the funny thing about the stigma, because I remember growing up, walking down the street, and if you passed somebody who was smoking a joint,
Starting point is 00:21:17 because it was illegal at the time, you associated them as like a bad character because they were, quote unquote, committing a crime, so they were a criminal. But as somebody who works in court services on a real note half of the cases that come in and out of the criminal court that i see are all alcohol related i haven't seen anything marijuana related right you know it's like that old saying that nobody smokes a joint and goes home and beats their wife. Is that an old saying? Well. Oh, that old adage.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Every time I say it, guys are like, oh, yeah, I've heard that. That might be what that means. But I'm just saying with alcohol, okay, let me quote a judge who said, in his experience, domestic violence and alcohol go hand in hand. Right? Impaired driving. Right. And this guy gets a front row, yeah, impaired driving, like you said. And the funny thing about impaired driving is that it can happen to anyone.
Starting point is 00:22:14 You might be sitting in a courtroom, and you see somebody in the body of the court dressed to the nines, and you assume that they're a lawyer. And when you find out they're actually a defendant, and you're like, oh my God, what did he do? He looks so clean. Nine times out of ten, it's an impaired operation. Yikes.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Right? But we're still celebrating alcohol. Like, you can't celebrate an event without champagne and, you know, and beer is just so tied to sports. Also, alcohol is, like, very addictive as well. And I'm sure there are people that claim to be addicted to cannabis, but there's not a real scientific fact that you can be addicted to it, is there? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:53 I mean, it's very, I can't, yeah. You can't speak on that. Scratch your face on the left side. I mean, listen, you know, the science is still out on a lot of those things. But speaking from my personal experience, I would say, you know, I have some similar experiences with extended family members in that vein with alcohol. And, you know, for me, it's not something I'm particularly fond of. I'd rather hang out with my pothead uncle than my drunk uncle.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Right. That being said, you know, I'll enjoy a beer or whatever the scenario might be. I think everything can be enjoyed, you be enjoyed in moderation under the right circumstances. And we're talking about two things. One is recreational enjoyment, and the other thing is the abuse of a substance, which in any case, you can abuse anything. Too much of anything will make you an addict. Yeah, this is nice and smooth.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Great jam here. Too much of anything is just enough. But my point is, I think that this stigma that we speak of is going to be gone for good within 10-15 years it won't even be in existence anymore I remember being in high school and dreaming oh maybe one day I'll go to
Starting point is 00:23:55 Amsterdam it's such a magical place and now I fucking live in Amsterdam it's like Toronto is Toronto is Toronto is Amsterdam now, Toronto... Oh, wow. Toronto is... I went there for that purpose. It's a stoner question of everyone. I'm saying Toronto is Amsterdam. Now, it's legal here. Hey, Kareem, this issue you're describing,
Starting point is 00:24:11 and very honest of you to open up about it, I appreciate that, man, but have you noticed anything changing lately, like since it became legal? Has the stigma with this loved one of yours... Your wife? ...lessened? I didn't want to say...
Starting point is 00:24:22 I didn't want to predict or guess who that might be. Is it an FOTM? I was going to say somebody very close to me. Someone who lives close to Mike? We can leave it at that. Try to angle it up a bit the mic there. I don't know. It's just funny to me because
Starting point is 00:24:37 like I said with the stigma people associate pot smokers as shady characters, but they're not seeing what cases are actually going through the system. They're not tied to marijuana, but
Starting point is 00:24:54 still, the pot smoker has to look like the bad guy all the time. I drink beer on occasion. I'm not trying to insult beer lovers. Because they associate alcohol with good times and celebration. Let's go for drinks.
Starting point is 00:25:13 To your point, though, I think that's part of what legalization is all about, is taking cannabis and giving it a face that's not necessarily exclusively whitewashed and corporate and all these other things, really. We want to make sure that we keep cannabis looking as authentic as it can be. But the reality is the ability to walk into a store and to go in without fear and to have a conversation with a person who's passionate about a product and to leave making a legal purchase and to share with your family that you did so. That in and of itself enacts change.
Starting point is 00:25:44 And so I'm really grateful for the opportunity for us to do that certainly um but i think in general it's going to go a long way towards making cannabis or removing that stigma of cannabis well also the media and i'm not just talking about the news the media in general entertainment is to blame as well if you as far back as you look, the representation of marijuana users in movies, in television, in cartoons, the stoner's always like, yeah, man, whoa, cool. Like, they're fucking idiots. Like Otto from The Simpsons. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:13 And I personally have never been with somebody who smoked a joint and all of a sudden was like, oh, dude. Like, that doesn't happen in real life. And if you see someone doing that, they probably just think that's what they're supposed to do because they've seen it in the movies and that's what's supposed to happen. Man, the caricature of, like, the cannabis user is so, like, mind-bendingly painful because, you know, explaining to, as you mentioned, you know, explaining to folks who are of a certain age that that's actually not what people who consume cannabis look like.
Starting point is 00:26:39 They think it's Sean Penn. Yeah, Spicoli. We've all seen the horror stories in movies, what happens when people drink too much, right? But still, you know, they have all the, it's a good side to balance out those horror stories. Yeah, I mean, you know, I think that creating more positivity around, and listen, again, not going back to,
Starting point is 00:27:01 going back to the conversation around enjoying it responsibly and in moderation and knowing yourself. Everybody has a breaking point with this kind of thing, and everybody can go in an irresponsible direction with certain things. But the nice part about having legal cannabis is that no longer is that information relegated to, you know, quiet whispers and having a conversation with the other people who enjoy cannabis. Nowadays, you can have conversations about what cannabis might be like and how it might impact you
Starting point is 00:27:29 publicly and without shame. And so I think that that, again, will go a long way towards supporting health and cannabis. Right. I would say that for the last seven years that since I've started making films, I've used my own voice, as little as that is, in my own kind of way to be an activist in my own way. I always have people in all of my movies are like smoking weed. But none of the characters are idiots that are smoking weed. None of them say, I'm so high, man. Like those are not how the characters in our movies operate. And I know that's such a little thing,
Starting point is 00:28:05 but if you had everybody kind of doing that, there would be a change. It will, and I think that's part of the slow change that you're talking about with the stigma going. It's because this has happened before with certain things. Even if you look in Toronto, I like the fact that we have now cannabis stores that just look like a store. They're not like some boarded up place with one black door that says, enter here, and there's a security guard and people feel weird going in. It's just like a store. They're not like some boarded up place with one black door that says enter here
Starting point is 00:28:25 and there's a security guard and people feel weird going in. It's just like another store. When I pulled up in front of Canada Cabana tonight I saw two older people standing there in the little shopping plaza and they were looking at the sign and I saw Canada Cabana and I said open
Starting point is 00:28:40 and they were looking really puzzled and they said closed on a Tuesday and I said what? It's closed. It says open. And they were looking really puzzled, and they said, closed on a Tuesday? And I said, what? Closed? It says open. And they were like, oh, no, no, the Vietnamese restaurant next door. I was like, phew, because I wanted to go in and check this place out. So anyway.
Starting point is 00:28:55 How was your experience? It was excellent. I walked in. I was the only person there. The bud tender who served me was fantastic. She was super friendly. She was knowledgeable. They usually are. You know, and I said, like, I had partly ordered online the other night, I was the only person there. The bud tender who served me was fantastic. She was super friendly. She was knowledgeable.
Starting point is 00:29:05 They usually are. You know, and I said, like, I had partly ordered online the other night, and I just didn't finish it. And I kind of remember a couple of things I had, and through some weird recall situation, she figured out what I wanted. Nice. And got it for me, and I was over there and here in time for the show. So it worked out great. The evolution of the retail, I got to commend Canna Cabana
Starting point is 00:29:25 and whoever else is doing it right. But when it first started, people who were cannabis users, they weren't going to buy retail price cannabis when they can still
Starting point is 00:29:36 go to the Johnny on the Corner who like delivers them like, you know. But now, it seems like retail has learned its lesson because now I don't have, I don't think I've called a pot dealer in four years. But now, it seems like retail has learned its lesson.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Because now, I don't think I've called a pot dealer in four years. The customer is winning so big right now, man. Prices are so good. Especially the pre-roll. The packs are so cheap. The quality on this stuff is amazing. I'll be the first person to tell you, in 2018, the quality and the price of cannabis and the legal channel had some opportunities. It was not good, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Today, it has come so far. There's so many great brands out there, great products. There's new innovation coming down all the time. And the prices, I mean, did you join our membership program, the Cabana Club? Oh, of course. Of course you did. You want the discount, so you join. You want the price. And it's the best weed at the best price and truly is fantastic weed.
Starting point is 00:30:25 And you know, you can, whether you're someone who enjoys vaping, whether you're someone who enjoys rolling or smoking dried flour, there's now so many concentrates, you can pick up gummies and edibles. You know, all of these things are, they're exciting for me and they're exciting for our customers. The one thing that, I mean, is the only drawback I've found so far within the retail side of it. And I understand because of the packaging, you can't do it, is that there's no samples for the buyer to come in to go, okay, because so much of the knowledge of flowers is about the smell. Oh, totally.
Starting point is 00:30:55 I mean, some of the things that frustrate me are, yeah, man, I mean, when I buy cannabis, the first thing I want to do is smell it and see it and touch it and, you know, all of those things are, unfortunately, you've got to wait until, the first thing I want to do is smell it and see it and touch it. And, you know, all of those things are, unfortunately, you've got to wait until after the purchase to make that happen. We try, man, we have tried like these little sniff jars. Okay. There's these little acrylic things. Remember we opened up our first shop and we bought like 50 of these things and put them in the store and you put cannabis in a, like, you know, a, a clear container with a little sniff hole in it. First of all, people
Starting point is 00:31:26 are putting their nose on that thing all day. That's just not very cool. I'm not into that. Secondarily, it degrades in like two days. So we came back in, like we opened it beginning of the week, everything's fluffed up, looking beautiful. Alright, high fives, let's leave the store. We came back on Saturday, all the weed is like shaking up and sad
Starting point is 00:31:42 and yellow and degrading because the sunlight's been hitting it directly. So we put that to that one to bed pretty quickly. Um, but some of the things you can sample are like, um, uh, well, nothing. Yeah. I really wish there was better news. Well, no, at this point I know, like you were saying, like the quality and of the licensed producers and what they're providing is, is a lot better than it was at the start so like it's not like i've in recent times ever had a complaint with something i purchased right but i know at the beginning when i had a couple neighbors order some stuff and they were opening up and saying hey does this look okay and i'm like no no don't don't smoke that like it you know covered a mold or it was just like just really really bad but now
Starting point is 00:32:23 it's completely different i'm so happy to hear that, man. I mean, I've had the same experience and all the way along, I've been obviously actively personally buying these products. And so I can tell you in 2018, 2019, it was pretty touch and go. There's a couple good folks back then, but it was, it was pretty touch and go these days. You know, you've got incredible products like back forties wedding pie. I would check that one out. It is delicious and juicy and really reasonably priced. Wonderful product. Powdered Donuts by Tweed, another really great flower. I've really been enjoying that one quite a lot. Pink Kush by Pearson Farms. That one's doing pretty well. Mandarin Cookies by Figures. So we just have all these like amazing products
Starting point is 00:33:02 that continue to come into our ecosystem that we can get excited about literally every day it's it's a pretty magical thing because i know originally i think of the few lps that i dealt with when i was ordering it through the medicinal purposes um the best one i found was broken coast oh dude check this out so i've got he's still gonna fuck this is this is this is serious this is my this is my broken coast medical card from 2017 i got one of those still still going strong in my wallet this is the second time is my Broken Coast medical card from 2017. Yep, I got one of those. Still going strong in my wallet.
Starting point is 00:33:27 This is the second time I've pulled this out today, oddly enough. Because you used to have to go to like a Nick Riviera type to get like a medical thing before. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:35 You'd be like, oh, does your head hurt? I'm an anxious person, Steve. And that's where part of the stigma's gone for me because after a number of years or whatever, I just said,
Starting point is 00:33:42 screw it with my own doctor. And I told him, I said, I realize that I've been self-medicating myself for many many years you know helping me out with certain things and they'd give me prescriptions for a couple of things and I said I don't want these anymore I don't need these right like I've got something else that does that you know and yet I sit there and my insurance for at work doesn't cover it you know I tell him hey I don't want to take those pills anymore this does the job just fine.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Oh, you can't, we won't pay for that. Imagine that, your work paying for your weed. I got, I know people who do, who have. Mike?
Starting point is 00:34:15 If it's medicinal. There's an FOTM I know who had this company pay it. It should be paid for. It should be. Yeah, I agree. But it doesn't have a drug identification number,
Starting point is 00:34:22 a DIN. Oh, interesting. And yet, it's a drug that's prescribed by doctors, yet it doesn't have a drug identification number, a DIN. Oh, interesting. And yet it's a drug that's prescribed by doctors, yet it doesn't have a drug identification number. Wait, you can get a prescription for weed and go to like Shoppers Drug Mart? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:32 And they have weed at Shoppers Drug Mart? He's on the phone already with his doctor. Oh, is that for real? Oh, yeah. I mean, the medical program in Canada is very significant. Wait, you're telling me like Rexall has weed? No, it's more mail order. Shoppers has a
Starting point is 00:34:45 cannabis program. I mean, you can walk into a Shoppers Drug Mart right now and have questions about cannabis. It's a big thing for them, and they're making big deals right now with licensed producers to supply them with cannabis. I've never purchased cannabis through Shoppers Drug Mart, so I don't know if it's on site or not,
Starting point is 00:35:01 but they are selling weed, my friend, and they're selling the same weed that we're selling. That's crazy. At a more expensive price. Yeah, I mean, so the medical program, because it's medical, has some price element baked in there. And then the other thing is they rename most of the products. Many of the products are renamed for a more, let's call it, medicinally friendly kind of name.
Starting point is 00:35:25 None of the funky names. It's not. It's so boring. Yeah, it's like Twilight and Super Boreal Aurora as opposed to like, you know, Sticky Buns or something. Hey, let's briefly catch up on some of the jams that we've been hearing in the background. So tell me, Candidate K, if you chose Star of Sirius, what can you tell me about Star of Sirius? You chose Star of Sirius. What can you tell me about Star of Sirius?
Starting point is 00:35:49 It goes back to that band that had an original lead singer who left, and then another guy stepped in. Oh, the one that got Camel upset. Yeah. So, big, huge, old Genesis fan myself. And before Steve Hackett, one of the guitarists in Genesis, left the band after Peter Gabriel. Before he left, he recorded this album, Voyage of the Acolyte. And many of the songs included Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks and Phil Collins on them.
Starting point is 00:36:19 And that one there had Phil Collins' vocal on it as well. And that was one of the things that got him basically the lead singing job after Gabriel left, was working on that album. But it's just a wicked album. And at that two-minute mark, there's just something about the instrumentation
Starting point is 00:36:34 that it's so ethereal and kind of up in the sky kind of stuff. And then it just kicks in and it's just a fantastic song to float to. Okay, what about this jam? Let me turn it up for a moment here. Is this a weed jam? Just because it's Bob Marley?
Starting point is 00:36:48 No, it's good to listen to when you're high. That's the rule. It was songs that are sloner jams, but also ones that are good when you're slim. Yeah, jams. I asked Kev, what jams do you listen to when you're high? And he gave me the lengthiest list you can imagine.
Starting point is 00:37:03 I need to know. What's the number one, Stu, for you? Well, it's hard, man, because like previously. You can't say Dark Side of the Moon. It has all, it heightens the senses. So music is so important for that. And I mean, I always go back as soon as Mike mentioned Stoner James. The first thing I think of often is the early 70s
Starting point is 00:37:25 or late 60s classic rock like the Floyds and all that because I love that you know but at the same time it's just because
Starting point is 00:37:31 that took an attention span there's not many two minute stoner jams right it's true most stoners like to get involved in something and have it
Starting point is 00:37:40 take them somewhere so for me that's why so much of them were like like album sides. Dude, does Toto have a stoner jam? I'm sure they were stoned when they were jamming.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Toto sounds great high. I Got Five On It by The Loonies. Kareem is requesting off mic. That's a great tune. Anything for Kareem here. You're off mic though, just so you know. See, there's something about that song i got five on it that was a stoner classic but now that song because of the legalization of cannabis that
Starting point is 00:38:12 song is completely ridiculous because back when weed was illegal and the price was higher five dollars you were basically chipping in there was one blunt going around and you were putting five dollars just to get a couple hits of that blunt, which is ridiculous now because of the prices. I'm going to dispensaries, and I'm getting dollar joints. And even the idea of sharing a joint. Well, that's what I was going to say. I think that the number, one of the things that contributed to the boom of cannabis is the COVID lockdown
Starting point is 00:38:43 because it was deemed essential. It didn't shut down. People were smoking more weed, and nobody's passing joints anymore. Exactly. So everybody's consuming more joints because they're not passing joints. I was at a gathering a little while ago, and where normally we would pass around the joint, everybody has their own pack. They're pulling it out.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Only one guy rolled. Everybody else is pre-rolls, pulling them out. Pre-rolls all day now. Everyone's got their own thing going on. You don't have to touch it anymore. Nah. The last TMLX I came with, I think it was like 25 joints. Yeah, TMLX 9.
Starting point is 00:39:15 That's right. That's right. I still like to roll my, like for me, Sunday morning, grind up like whatever eighth I just picked up or quarter, and I just like to roll. All Sunday morning. I just sit there and roll. Do you write your strain on the filter do you do anything on the filter I always do my little I I go I get the filter paper I do a couple little folds roll yeah
Starting point is 00:39:33 hold that toss in the end of the hold in the end of the paper put the product in back forth roll with the filter already there and then look I've got my own little methodology I like to crease the paper before I put the product in and then I I roll all the way up, roll all the way down, and it makes it. But I like pinners. You should have done like a roll-off. I wanted to try what you had mentioned on the podcast when you were on last, which was the crumpled paper technique. I wanted to try that just for fun. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Because I like that idea. It helps kind of with, like, especially if you're new to rolling, which you are clearly not. If you're new to rolling, it can help with the structure of the paper. But, yeah, I mean, rolling for me, there's just something like spiritual about it, man. And you know, to be honest, pre-rolls are great, but you're never going to get- They're just convenient. Super convenient. Completely agree.
Starting point is 00:40:13 And they're booming right now. It's not the same, but it's still good. The quality of the product that you're going to put in your own joint is always going to be superior to what you're getting out of a pre-roll. It's like freshly ground coffee, brewed, versus a Keurig. It can still be great. I do like Keurigs, though. Well, and that's why we need a weed Keurig.
Starting point is 00:40:33 So, to be fair, we sell a weed coffee in a Keurig pot. I kid you not. That thing is banging right now. But there's something to the craftsmanship as well. Oh, certainly. Oh, yeah. With cannabis? No, when you roll your
Starting point is 00:40:45 joint, right, and you go through that ritual and you get that perfect roll, there's that feeling. Plus, everybody had that one friend in high school that was the good roller. Sure. I labored for like a solid year to become that friend in my adult life.
Starting point is 00:41:01 I only learned to roll because I moved to Taiwan, and getting weed was much more difficult. Can't you get electrocuted for smoking weed in Taiwan? You could get the death penalty for trafficking. Needless to say, that jacked up the price. So a half quarter, normally where I was paying $35, $40 a year, That should lower the price. cost me about $120 over there.
Starting point is 00:41:26 And getting rolling papers was really difficult. So I didn't have that, my buddy with me who always rolled the joints. And I learned something that, I had to roll the joints with a lot of cigarette because, like I said, the weed was hard to get. I learned to sprinkle just enough weed to make me feel good that I didn't have to roll an entire joint. I learned to be happy with just being a little bit
Starting point is 00:41:50 high instead of always being as high as I could. Yeah, and that's where I started my rolling. I like a straight cannabis joint. For me, spliffs, especially over in Amsterdam specifically, spliffs all over the
Starting point is 00:42:05 place i can't no disrespect to people who like spliffs i can't do it i like pure i like pure pure cannabis and even blunts for me are difficult like tobacco-based blunts they i just there's something about consuming tobacco with cannabis it doesn't really agree with me again i know a lot of people love it but there's all these really great new blunt alternatives. So they've got these palm leaf wraps. They've got hemp-based wraps. Oh, look at this. What do we got? Oh, let's see what you picked up.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Have you got your whole pickup here? Mike, are you going to smoke a joint, Mike? Is that what we're going to do here? Oh, yeah. We don't know where this evening is going, Stu. It could go anywhere. We're going to do it. You've got to do it now so that we can see what happens to you.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I'm so open to anything right now. So Canada Kev picked up the Cake Pops Blunt by Black Market here. Nice, nice pick. Nice pick. So this one right here, this is First Class Funk by Ghost Drops. Ghost Drops was our number five brand this month, and they're only in Ontario. Wow. We sold so much of this.
Starting point is 00:43:04 This is a good pickup, man. It's a solid one. And then over here we got Lobo and this is I've not had a Lobo, but this is solid value, I think, this one here. This one's a solid value. That's like the glass tip. This is like antique road show for weed. He shows them what he's
Starting point is 00:43:20 got and he tells them what it is. I need to shout out some of the people who are asking questions. Shout out to Brad Urquhart. On the live stream, the Pirate live stream, live.torontomic.com, a bunch of people. I'm going to shout them out, and then I'm going to read the questions. But Cambrio is there. Cybercafe is there. YYZgord. I like what YYZgord, he writes, looks like Mike is out of his element.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Glad he's brought in the big guns. I brought in the biggest guns I've got. So Jokeroo. Jokeroo. Jokeroo says I'm in quiet awe. And then he's hoping we blaze. He's like, let's blaze, boys. What are we waiting for?
Starting point is 00:43:58 But I want to read the question. Hold on. Cyber Cafe. By the way, Jokeroo says Kareem is spitting knowledge. So you got a fan there, Kareem. All right, here's a question for Andy. When the Cannabis Act came in back in 2018, why do you think Ontario didn't opt for strictly an LCBO-ish model
Starting point is 00:44:22 for in-person retail? Can I try to guess? I mean, sure. Because we have like a conservative government that wants less government and more capitalism. Right, because Wynn was going to bring that in, and then they lost that election. Is capitalism Wynn's in the end?
Starting point is 00:44:35 I believe at that time the tagline was open for business. That was open for cannabis business specifically. I'm very glad, of course, that we have privatized retail and it's not LCBO model. I saw some of those early LCBO model sketches because we, as I mentioned, make a ton of accessories and we were selling some to the interior cannabis store. Yeah, I mean, you know, who's to say if it would work or not? Well, it just seemed like they were going to open up like 10 stores for the whole city or something like that. It just wasn't going to happen. Boy, yeah, I remember that actually. The plan for the number of stores was kind of city or something like that. It just wasn't going to happen. Boy, yeah, I remember that, actually.
Starting point is 00:45:06 The plan for the number of stores was kind of like, uh-huh, so East Toronto gets this store, and West, yeah, I don't think that would have been very good. They would have had to build a lot of stores, put it that way. All right, now the jam we just played, okay, is that your, actually, that was my jam. What were you going to say, Kareem?
Starting point is 00:45:25 Can I just mention that that story I told about Taiwan and the weed was in 2001 that I... The statute of limitations? Stop mixing tobacco and marijuana for 10 years at least. Oh, that was the... And I would not recommend that anyone do that now. I thought you were worried they'd come after you now because they're a bit like, he did that on our soil. Where is this guy living right now? Like thought you were worried they'd come after you now because they're like, he did that on our soil. Where is this guy living right now?
Starting point is 00:45:47 Like, are you worried at all? I don't think there's an extra... Listen, if you are a weed smoker, the first thing you do when you land in any city is try to figure out how you're going to get weed. Even Taiwan. Okay. All I'm saying is there's a little something called scarcity, right? When it's scarce, you try to stretch it as far as possible. Big question.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Kareem, are you a wrestling fan? I was. You were. Yeah, me too. Okay, let's go to Stu for this question. This is from Cambrio. What's your favorite wrestling theme to hear when you're high? Is that for Andy?
Starting point is 00:46:18 Well, if it's for you, and then we'll find out if Andy's even a wrestling fan. He's sweating over it. They're all the same. They're great. They're all the same. They're great. They're all the fucking same, okay? Ric Flair will do that. Andy, you fan? But I will say that hip-hop music specifically
Starting point is 00:46:33 also very good for the cannabis culture because you had, well, this right here, Cypress Hill, that's one of the first groups I heard that was like, all the songs were about weed. Right. But you had Dr. Dre, The Chronic. You had, you know, we heard How High, Redman and Methaman. These were anthems, man. And Biggie rapping about blunts and shit. As a kid growing up in the most impressionable years of my youth as a
Starting point is 00:47:04 teenager, Snoop Dogg's album. You know, these were, we just sounded so cool. And there's something very social still to this day. Even though everybody's rolling their own joints now, you'd find, you know, me and you could have nothing in common. But then as soon as we spark a joint, as soon as we spark a joint, now we love each other. Yeah, that's it buddy
Starting point is 00:47:25 we're friends you know i had so many of those experiences traveling and you know to legal and illegal places um and you know there's always people who love cannabis anywhere you go but even here in toronto the first place i ever smoked a joint with other people was um it was called roacharama you know it was on kensington there And, you know, we had, I don't know, 10 late teens people standing around together, passing around a joint. It's one of my most vivid memories of, like, community and meeting people I had never met before
Starting point is 00:47:54 and having a great experience with them. So I really think that there's something about those cannabis experiences that bring people together, especially those that don't know each other, that's uniquely special. Tobias Vaughn on the live stream says, make new friends with weed. Can't make friends with salad,
Starting point is 00:48:08 but you can with cannabis. A friend with weed is a friend indeed. Right, that's a placebo. Is that... I don't know. Yeah. I just know that saying. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
Starting point is 00:48:18 A friend with weed is better. Remember this jam, right, Stu? Yeah, of course. Placebo. Okay, who's going to be the first to spark one up out here? Let's see, Kareem versus Kev. I think it needs to be Mike.
Starting point is 00:48:30 I think. We've got to pop this guy's cherry. He says he doesn't even know how to inhale. He's Bill Clinton-ing us. I didn't inhale. Oh, wow. I know that Andy's got some product. So I've got these nifty little live terpene sticks.
Starting point is 00:48:44 So these are infused pre-rolls, which are a little pungent. So, yeah, probably not for a first date. Well, maybe one of my esteemed guests here. Would anybody like one of these fancy little terpene sticks? A terpene stick? So it's cannabis. It's just flour that's been processed in a way where it's closer to hash. And then give it a smell.
Starting point is 00:49:09 This is black cherry. Like a little bullet. It's like a little. Wow, look at that thing. Decently, they burn beautifully too. I mean, it's a really premium little fella there. I got your jam for that one. Give it a shot.
Starting point is 00:49:24 Give it a shot, Karim. I'd love to hear. Perfect timing. Now he's got to light up. It's a dog walker. All right, folks, for those who are listening, Kareem, Mike's neighbor, has a little tiny bullet about the size of Cam Gordon's ego.
Starting point is 00:49:38 I must admit, I do like the whole idea of a podcast dedicated to cannabis because I'm always introduced to new strains. And I want to hear guys' opinions, whose opinions I value, to point me in the right direction. This might be a future podcast. There you go. If it goes well. New strains and new tunes.
Starting point is 00:49:58 They go together. It could be called strained. Strained. That's a pretty good one. You know, there's a couple good cannabis podcasts out there. Shout out to the Adam Dunn Show. That guy's been hosting a cannabis podcast for, like, my God, like 15 years or something like that. And it's beautiful, man.
Starting point is 00:50:18 He gets a bunch of guys in his garage, cannabis industry people, whatever, and they just smoke and dab. I'm coming for you, Andrew. What's his name? Andrew smoke and dab. I'm coming for you, Andrew. What's his name? Adam Dunn. Andrew Adam Dunn. I'm coming for you, buddy. Toronto Mike's on the way. Toronto Mike's on the way.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Yeah, they're out of color. I think I'm going to get high just from the second hand smoking. Why don't we give Mike the value, bud? Look, he's got a blunt going. This is great. Yeah, but real talk, okay? I actually. Did you just light up the cake pop blunt
Starting point is 00:50:45 Is that what that is Yeah get on the mic And tell us what you're smoking there Kev Oh This is I don't have my glasses on But isn't this Isn't this fucking great
Starting point is 00:50:57 It's black market The cake pop blunt I know we didn't know where we'd go But this is wonderful It's a nice King size Long tapered cone. Nice even pack. Nice odor.
Starting point is 00:51:09 I like the review. Black Market does a nice job. These guys are out of Richmond, BC, I think. Beauty, right? What's that flavor like, Kev? Stu's working that hard.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Kind of. Oh, you got the readies.'s all good. Stu's working that hard. Kind of. Hard. Oh, you got the readies. Oh, yeah. Give him a ready. Mike, you can handle this. This is a ready. Those are... Okay, so remember, I wanted this to be a podcast for those who smoke on the daily, like my
Starting point is 00:51:38 friends, Kevin. Catch this, Kevin. Hold on. And... And... Hold on. Don't let that fall between the cracks. And guys like me who aren't currently smokers, right?
Starting point is 00:51:49 So straight up, I'm open to anything, but I legit don't even know where to start. All right, all right. So let me lay this on you. First and foremost, let's see. On the bottom of the pack is usually where they stamp the strain here. Oh, they've not done that. It's like WAPA or something. This WAPA?
Starting point is 00:52:02 Yeah. Yeah, so that's Redican Reddies are a really popular product because they're shaped like those little cigarettes and they're very... There's only 0.35 grams of cannabis in there. So it's just a nice little personal joint. I think I'm getting more off the second hand. It's like a couple of swigs of wine.
Starting point is 00:52:18 Yeah. It's like... That's the one blood light of cannabis. I'm going nowhere but to bed after this. I'm going to post this. I'm going to bed. I'm not operating heavy machinery. You know?
Starting point is 00:52:28 So there's no... No, we know that about you. I've already mowed the lawn. Kareem, by the way, that's a man who spends a lot of time on his lawn. Kudos to you. You're out there all the time, buddy. A lawnmower is not heavy machinery. It's totally cool.
Starting point is 00:52:43 Have you ever tried to lift to be high? Are you mansplaining heavy machinery to me, Kevin? Oh, this is going to be big. Mike is going to smoke a joint. It's happening. It's Stu's dream. It might happen. Yeah, it might happen.
Starting point is 00:52:57 What do you mean might? It might happen, brother. I'm open to anything, buddy. I'm thoroughly enjoying this. So that ready has been like our number one pre-roll for, my god, two years almost. You could smoke a pack of those in one day. That is,
Starting point is 00:53:13 yeah. This is to Canna Cabana as the Canuck Pale Ale is to Great Lakes Brewery. That's the staple. By the way, if you wanted beer as well, they were cold when I put them out here. You know, I hope they're still cold. I don't mind GLB when it's cold.
Starting point is 00:53:29 So I got to plug one of your sponsors here, Mike. I got to tell you. Talk to me, Andy. So last time I was here, Mike hooked me up with this. I don't know. Where's the camera? Camera, camera, camera, camera. So, oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:53:42 Not in space. Understood. Palmo Pasta hooked me up with one of these lasagnas and i got meat or vegetables uh it was a meat it was a meat lasagna and um i got an italian grandmother god rest her soul and so i don't eat bad lasagna that just it's not an option for me this was such a good lasagna such a good lasagna that um i'm I'm I'm humbly begging you Mike if I can please Take another one home today
Starting point is 00:54:06 You got it Andy You're bringing home Another pump So thank you to Palma Pasta I'll take a lasagna I can vouch for the Veggie lasagna too
Starting point is 00:54:13 The veggie lasagna Is fantastic from them Real talk I got three lasagnas In the freezer Kareem you're next door I'll get you I don't need one
Starting point is 00:54:21 I'll get you Because I can deliver it No I can get you one I'll do it next time. You sure? Palma Pasta, if you're listening to this show, thank you for changing my pre-made lasagna life because it was fire.
Starting point is 00:54:33 It's not your grandma's stouffers. If your grandmother was still alive, would you actually show up with that to her? Excuse me, can you repeat that? If she was still alive, would that be good enough? I would have grandma over for Sunday afternoon after church. We'd have a little vino in one of these. Sit back and chat, yep.
Starting point is 00:54:51 What did you crack open there, Kev? One of my favorites, which is the octopus wants to fight. You know what, I had that last time. Spilled it all over Stu's soundboard. Bummer. It was delicious, though. Make no mistake. Whose soundboard?
Starting point is 00:55:05 I'm opening a burst here. Are the beers on the table just for display? No, you can drink that. Yeah, I can. I meant Mike's. I have more in the fridge, too, right? I put out like four, but I can't. And there's a can of, I mean, I know.
Starting point is 00:55:17 You can have this one. Because you can use the ginger ale as your stop here. Great Lakes Lager. Well, we'll crack that one, sure. Oh, did you hear that one, sure. Did you hear that sound, Mike? Did you hear the crack from all the way over there? Isn't that crazy? So thank you, StickerU.com.
Starting point is 00:55:33 That's where you want to get Canada Cabana stickers. You're going to StickerU.com. I'm going to say something about that. I think that you need to get Palma Pasta together with StickerU. I don't know if they've changed it, but if you notice, when you put their frozen lasagna in the oven, the sticker get palma pasta together with sticker you. I don't know if they've changed it, but if you notice, when you put their frozen lasagna in the oven, the sticker that is on with the
Starting point is 00:55:50 instructions goes black as soon as it goes in the oven, and you can't read it anymore. I think you're supposed to take that off. No, no, no. There's something I can't remember. It was the last time I did one a while ago. Okay, because the sticker should be on the plastic, which does not go in the oven. There was something that happened. Okay, because I do make it on the reg, and I don't think that's, I think the sticker's on the cellophane, the plastic. But I'm
Starting point is 00:56:10 going to look into that. But yeah, we've got to marry these sponsors up. I do want to thank Dewar Pants, the most comfortable pants and shorts. If anyone listening wants to save 15%, you can do it online at Dewar.ca, D-U-E-R dot C-A. Or, they have a new retail store in Toronto on Queen Street.
Starting point is 00:56:27 And you can, I'm just reading these comments coming in, watching Mike smoke. Yeah, I will say this. Like, peer pressure used to be a big thing when it came to cannabis. Not that I'm advocating for that. But wait, people who are watching right now. Light this up and bring it over and let's see. If they want Mike to spark that J, press 1 in the chat.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Well, you spark it. No, no, you spark it. You are a big boy. Only if they vote. Press 1 in the chat if you want to see Mike spark his first J possibly ever. Oh, YYZ Gord couldn't hit that 1 fast enough. You see, that's lightning speed. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Come on, Joker. Seems unanimous. Okay, well. And it's Kanakabana approved. This is a product you can go in to Kanakabana and purchase. I'm open to this idea. They're number one seller. Didn't you say that?
Starting point is 00:57:09 Or now have it delivered. Yeah. Thank you very much. I appreciate that, Kev. Yes, you can now have it delivered as well as enjoy the best weed at the best price. Get this guy a lighter. Come on, Kareem. What are we doing here?
Starting point is 00:57:20 Here, Kareem. You light this up and you pass it. Why? You don't know how to light? No. Well, let's teach you. This is educational. Instead of barking from across the freaking table, Stu. Here, Kareem. You light this up and you pass it. Why? You don't know how to light? No. Well, let's teach you. This is educational. Instead of barking from across the freaking table, Stu. Here's what you do.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Hold my hand and help me here. These two are so understanding. Pass him the lighter. We'll help him. We'll talk you through this. We'll talk you through this. You know how to light a lighter, right? See, this is what you're doing. Thank you, Kareem. No, no. I've never smoked anything. Yeah, so we're going to teach you.
Starting point is 00:57:46 Okay, thank you. Calmly teach me because remember, we're live here. I don't want to look like an idiot. What you're going to want to do, and I'm sure you've been told this before, put it in your mouth. Just put it right between those luscious lips of yours. And when you light the lighter, just take a little inhale of the thing and then blow out. You know, just like a little and then blow out and then it'll be lit. Mike, you know you're taking a look.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Okay, now, there you go. Look how easy that was. You're smoking weed. You just took the red pill. You don't even have training wheels on, man. You're good. That's all. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:58:16 How? Look at him. You're going. And what's this one called again, Andy? Well, I think you'd have to ask Stu. That's WAPA. WAPA? WAPA.
Starting point is 00:58:25 Oh, like Judge WAPA from the People's Court. All right, but how do I smoke and man all the equipment? You don't have to hold it like, you know, you can hold it however you want. You can do like two. So, Stu, here's a little piece of information I typically do for new smokers. So, let's go down this path. Generally speaking, if you're a brand new smoker, my favorite way for you to smoke for your first time is to just have a tiny little bit. You're pretty much almost there right now. There's only 0.35 in there. You can smoke the whole
Starting point is 00:58:53 thing. But what does that mean, 0.35? There's nothing in there. Like a banana for scale. It's like a quarter glass of wine. Just to maximize the chances that your first opportunity to consume cannabis is the best one, just have a little bit. Just a tiny little bit and see how you cruise. You can always relight it. That's true. Let it go out. I need a jam here.
Starting point is 00:59:10 You can let it go out and then start it up again. Let it go out. You can pick it up again. It's no problem, right? It's not all at once. He actually looks quite handsome with that. That's a nice accessory for you. It looks good on you, man.
Starting point is 00:59:20 I won't lie. It does look pretty good on you. It doesn't look good on him. Who's going to take the picture? Oh, someone's got to take a picture. I won't lie It does look pretty good on you Doesn't it look good on him? He looks like a professional Oh someone's got to take a picture Can I promote something That's happening Friday Which is kind of excited
Starting point is 00:59:30 And completely related to this Wow he's already hot Does Dewar have smoking jackets? They should Here look over here Oh that's a beautiful So Andy This will be very interesting to you
Starting point is 00:59:41 I'm actually moderating A panel discussion At the O'Cannabis conference on Friday. Oh, that's amazing. Well, now you can tell them you smoked weed. Yes, this will definitely come up. I am also smoking weed. So, yeah, it's a discussion on how to get employment in the cannabis industry.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Oh, interesting. And I'm the moderator. And you tell them to call Andy. That's so cool. I'm on a panel at O'Cannabis tomorrow. Unfortunately, I won't be there on Friday. Oh, you won't be there on Friday. Oh, you won't be there on Friday. But I'm interested to hear how it goes.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Mike, please follow up. For sure, for sure. A little David Bowie in the background. Okay. You know, and I think this is just to kind of bring it back to the conversation we're having here, right? There's so many people. I'm sure, Kev, you've probably heard this one before, too, being a lifelong pot smoker. You two's, too.
Starting point is 01:00:24 Guys who will not consume cannabis because it makes them anxious, because it gives them anxiety. It's the number one thing I hear all the time, right? Oh, no, I tried pot, makes me anxious. That's usually the byline. And the thing is, is like a lot of times when folks try cannabis for the first time, it's not in an opportune situation. They're already had a few too many drinks. They're at a party. They, you know, hit a joint and they're
Starting point is 01:00:46 joking around and having too much. And you know what? Sometimes if you mix those substances, you're not in the right environment. You take too much. It can be a negative experience, truthfully. So when it's your first time, you just go light on it, man. You can always have more. You can't ever have less. So, you know, give it a shot.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Stu's like, go hard or go deep. Go big or go home, right, Stu? And you can never completely OD You know what, Stu? There's no pump in your stomach I'm only laying this down Because I want to smoke weed with Mike again You will
Starting point is 01:01:13 I can see it if it suits him I can already see I can see the Cannabis Podcast Sponsored by Canada Cabana With Stu Stone, Canada Kev Kareem And of course our main man, Andy Palalis. It's a regular deal.
Starting point is 01:01:27 I mean, man, I'll be here any time you care, especially if it's in this backyard. It's a beautiful spot, man. Why do you think we're in the backyard? In case if anyone wanted to spark one up. I know Monica's got a very smart no smoking rule in the house and that we're in the backyard. It's all good.
Starting point is 01:01:40 That's beauty. Feels a little magical. Feels a little magical. Feels a little magical. I can't believe it. You know, Mike Boone, Toronto Mike, is smoking weed. It's pretty beautiful. Yeah, I love it. Now, if I can do this, anyone can do it.
Starting point is 01:01:54 But Andy, amazing. So, Stu, I wanted to ask you about your horror movie that got nominated for an award. Okay. Can you tell me? Which one? I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. So, listen, I haven't seen the movie.
Starting point is 01:02:05 No one has. Well, I want to hear about'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. So listen, I haven't seen the movie. No one has. Well, I want to hear about it, man. That's not true. Lots of people have. Lots of people. We've all seen it, right? Karan's a big fan. Is it set in Toronto?
Starting point is 01:02:14 Which one for real? Which one? Well, wait. Are you talking about Faking a Murderer? No. There's another one. That's the newest one. House on Kirby Road.
Starting point is 01:02:21 House on Kirby Road. Shout out to you know who. That did take place. Joe Louis. North of the city. North of the city where? I think there's Kirby Road. House on Kirby Road. Shout out to you know who. That did take place. Joe Louis. North of the city. North of the city where? I think there's Kirby Road. It's like in like Maven or Concord.
Starting point is 01:02:30 We just have to ask Joe Louis where it is. There's not enough horror or like fiction set in Canada. Oh yeah, all of ours are set in Canada. I love that, man. I found a book in a bookstore, like a used bookstore one time called The Hell Maws of Budli. And I live like 20 minutes away from this little fishing village named Budley. And that just floored me.
Starting point is 01:02:49 I'm so fascinated by people who take an environment they live in and write fiction about it. So were you on Kirby Road? Oh, was I in the movie? No, no. I just mean, how did you come up with that? Oh, yeah. Because there's this house legit on Kirby Road that people in high school used to go to this house and smoke weed and go in the house and see what happens.
Starting point is 01:03:06 So we wrote this horror movie where they all go to smoke weed at a house and it goes horribly wrong. Then coincidentally my second film was called Scarecrows and that plot line is like kids that go on to trespass onto a farmer's cornfield to smoke weed and it goes horribly
Starting point is 01:03:22 wrong. How have I not seen these movies? I don't know, but the new one... Where are they streaming? They're streaming on Rogers and Amazon and Hollywood Suite, et cetera, et cetera.
Starting point is 01:03:32 On my Prime, I can watch this? Yeah. And the newest... I have another film coming out this year called Vandits, but that's later on in the year.
Starting point is 01:03:40 But Faking a Murderer, which you should come, there's a big opportunity for us because on June the 22nd, I'm screening the movie at the Review Cinema. It's our first time screening the movie in Canada. You should come down there and we should give out some Canada Cabana. Dude, I will be there. We should have a whole after party thing.
Starting point is 01:03:56 There's a screening? I'm going to be there. That sounds amazing. Thank you for the invite. And I want to give away tickets to the listeners as well of your show, Mike. And I know Kareem wants a ticket and Kev listeners as well of your show, Mike. I know Kareem wants a ticket and Kev's got a ticket. Okay, so. By the way, those papers that you gave away as a promo with yours were fantastic.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Yes, we have rolling papers. Maybe I've got to get you some. They're really good brand. I bring people together. One of the plots of the movie is that we have a rolling, there's a rolling paper plot to the movie. I don't want to spoil it for you. Did we just become best friends?
Starting point is 01:04:24 I think we did. This is amazing. This is amazing. This is amazing. Horror weed movies. Yes. I'm appalled that I haven't seen them and excited to see them. They're really good. And I know, Kareem, you've seen them all, right, buddy?
Starting point is 01:04:33 There's a series of four or five films. It's coming on. He wants to talk about Stu. He took it out of Kim's hand. What was that? Oh, yeah. Okay. I'm the boss.
Starting point is 01:04:41 I say Kareem gets the mic right now. It's like the conch. Kareem, how are you feeling after smoking that terp station? Oh, tell us about the live terp stick, man. How did that go? Oh, the terp stick. It's gone. It went well.
Starting point is 01:04:54 You guys got me into a zone of weed and horror movies. At first I was like, wow, those two things, do they go together? And I had a flashback that I had watched Night of the Living Dead. They did a remake in 3D, and I rented it. And, like, the movie was horrible, right? But there was just this one scene where they made use of the 3D effect where a guy lights up a joint, and he says, Do you want some?
Starting point is 01:05:19 His arm comes out of the TV with that joint, like, right in front of you, dude. I'm telling you, it's like you could almost smell it, and it was the best thing about the movie. Well, that's interesting because that goes back to my earlier point. You know, in movies, when people smoke weed, they see things and they hallucinate. That doesn't happen in real life either. Like, when you see Harold and Kumar riding on an intergalactic cheetah through a tunnel of trippy colors. That doesn't happen in real life either. Like when you see Harold and Kumar riding on an intergalactic cheetah through a tunnel of trippy colors. That doesn't happen. Isn't that acid?
Starting point is 01:05:51 You have not consumed marijuana, my friend. They make weed seem like this crazy fucking thing. Like, oh, you're going to smoke weed and you're going to be riding a unicorn. Yeah, the funny thing, even Chappelle did that in Half Baked. And he is a weed smoker. Yeah. Because that's the kind of content that people were making at that point. If you want to make a stoner movie, that's how it's got to be.
Starting point is 01:06:10 I think Pineapple Express in Superbad and these types of movies, they kind of normalized it a little bit more maybe. I mean, Pineapple Express is a little extreme. But these guys weren't smoking weed and going on rainbow slides. I agree. Because when weed is in the movies, it guys weren't smoking weed and, like, going on rainbow slides. I agree. Because when weed is in the movies, it's always about the weed. The weed always steals scenes, steals the entire plot. Alcohol can just be there and not be there.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Right. Right? Two people can just be having a drink, and it's not about the drink. You know, man, but we're— Every time the weed comes out, it's all about the weed. And we're so getting there now. You know, we're so getting there. Like, at the end of the day, Kareem, at this moment in time,
Starting point is 01:06:48 I can go to parties and gatherings and have a joint or have a cannabis beverage, and people are just more curious than anything. Oh, man, is that cannabis? You know, and those questions are always really exciting to me because I have an opportunity to bring someone into the conversation in a positive way, right? So, you know, I think it will not be long before we see cannabis being consumed very normally in film, and it doesn't have to be the film, the movie, you know?
Starting point is 01:07:13 How are you feeling, Mike? Dude, I'm always feeling good. You know this. I feel good. As good as you always have? I don't know if you guys have talked about, like, I know you brought up earlier that some people have mentioned about weed it makes them anxious or it makes them paranoid i'm one of those people who've had many experiences like that over the years and the legalization of
Starting point is 01:07:37 cannabis has allowed me to find the strains that don't do that to me and stick with those. Right. You know, so when I came into the cannabis industry in 2016, you know, it had been a few years since I had smoked, and I came back in, and I was like, man, you know, I want to try again. I had a bit of a rough experience with some Durban Poison, right? It's Durban Poison, beautiful landrace, or close to landrace sativa. It's a strain. It's called poison? It's called Durban poison. Yeah. Really popular, upbeat, euphoric
Starting point is 01:08:10 sativa strain. And, you know, so I had a bit of a rough experience, over-consumed a little bit and just, you know, wanted to... Greened out? Yeah. Pretty close. Had some anxiety. And I was like, you know, I just never want to feel this again. I never want to feel this way again. And so at that moment in time, I discovered what I call micro dosing. And so it's smoking a tiny bit of cannabis. It's usually like, you know, no more than 0.1 or 0.2 of a gram of a specific strain to understand exactly how that strain impacts me. And then if I like it, I'll go deeper and like, you know, get more into it. Now, as time has gone on and my tolerance has gone up a lot, then obviously that's less material.
Starting point is 01:08:43 As time has gone on and my tolerance has gone up a lot, then obviously that's less material. But for new users specifically, that's why I always recommend having just a little bit because you have an opportunity to see how it interacts with you. And if you're vibing on it and you're enjoying it, you can double down. And if it's not for you, then you can just walk away and try something else. But the good news is that you cannot overdose on green. Oh, no, you cannot. So the worst thing that's going to happen to you is you're going to have a good sleep. Yeah, and I don't know if it was for you, but the few times that's going to happen to you is you're going to have a good sleep. Yeah. And I don't know if you guys, like if it was for you, but like the few times that I've
Starting point is 01:09:07 greened out, which is a good term for it, you know, kind of horrible as it happened, you know, wigging out like that. But then right afterwards, it was like three or four hours of just pure bliss. Sure. It was really nice afterwards, but it would never be something that I could ever imagine striving towards or going, that's what you've got to go through to get that feeling. No, I'm not looking for that. And it's just like, that's ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:09:26 That's why I like these WAPA, these types of things, because it's not strong. You can smoke like a hundred of them. And that's the thing. And I'm passionate about the topic because I come up to so many individuals who are like, man, stuff makes me paranoid. And I just so badly want to get through to that person. And listen, if cannabis isn't for you, that's fine. Cannabis isn't for you.
Starting point is 01:09:46 But I'd love to give you your best chance to be set up for not having that experience and for experiencing the great part about cannabis. You're a good friend, man. You know? I know. That's what it's like for my wife. I know for her, it's like, it's always been a paranoia thing for her. You know, no matter how little she takes it, just everything affects her more dramatically
Starting point is 01:10:00 and stuff like that. And she, you know, tries once in a while and it's okay with little bits here and there. But, you know, she just has to take that next step if it was to And she, you know, tries once in a while and it's okay with little bits here and there. But, you know, she just has to take that next step if it was to find out, you know, what out there is going to be working for her. And she's like, she's not there yet. She's fine where she is and that's okay. Man, you know, and it's amazing
Starting point is 01:10:16 when you start getting into the world of cannabis, you know, like Kareem was saying, there's so many new things to try. That's what really drives this whole thing is it's variety. Like, Stu, I don't know if, you know, I imagine you've been smoking for a good long while, but is it like Kareem said for you?
Starting point is 01:10:31 Like, are you trying new things all the time or are you just kind of, you know, smoking readies? No, I'm down. Well, I'll tell you, I prefer Indica's, but just because, you know, I'm a boy. I don't even know what that means. What?
Starting point is 01:10:50 I don't even know what that means. He's so high. He's a good old boy. I haven't even hit anything, but I will say that I prefer Indica's because it's real weed. Yeah. But, you know, lots of people like Sativa.
Starting point is 01:11:00 Tell the newbies what the hell the difference is. Sativa is like giggle weed and creative, but it's all this. And Indica is more of a... Sativa is tequila to me. I get where you're coming from right now, Stu, and it's challenging because the reality is most cannabis is just hybridized at this moment in time.
Starting point is 01:11:20 So there's no true Indica, Sativa. So conventional wisdom is that Indicas will give you a relaxed kind of lock you to your couch feeling where you're just chilling out and Sativas are going to get you pepped up. So you want to clean the house or something. And I can tell you, I have smoked strains labeled Indica that made me euphoric and strains labeled Sativa that put me to sleep. It's just that, you know, it's so much more about the individual product and that's why you kind of excuse me, as Kareem said, you
Starting point is 01:11:49 kind of try different things and see what works well for you and when you find something you like, you can ride that wave. But I'll go into a store and I'll be like, oh, what Indica pre-rolls do you have? And they'll just lie to me and tell me, this one, this one, this one, this one. And I'll just be like, okay, I'll take all i'll take you haven't been to a can of cabana i was gonna say
Starting point is 01:12:07 you're going to the wrong store but i'll just be like okay i'll take them all oh okay well they come to can of cabana for sure yeah and i just i just please come you know i leave with like everything there was a time where there was a bunch of places like that where i literally i think they just took the same stuff and just packaged it differently i gotta tell you buddy different but stew we're open until 11. What are you doing after this podcast? There's probably one within walking distance. I'm going to take you right down to the store.
Starting point is 01:12:31 We can open up that wallet. Hey, I know I might have missed this, so I don't want to bury the lead here, but did I hear that we're going to have some kind of a collaboration with Toronto Mike and Andy Palalas at the movie premiere in Toronto for Staking a Murderer. I hope so. Man, I'll be there. Honestly, I'll get the FOCams to come out.
Starting point is 01:12:49 June 22nd. Let's take a look. We could do an after party, not even at a park. That's on a Wednesday night. We're going to have an after party. That's such a very Toronto thing to do, have an after party on a Wednesday. Let's do it, Stu.
Starting point is 01:12:59 Okay, so this is a commitment. I'm recording, Stu. I'm down. I just saw it say Jarvis has a soccer match. I'll get Monica. I'm going to miss one game. That's fine. The movie's not until 9. Oh, I can do both. Okay, so this is a commitment. I'm recording, Stu. I'm down. Because I just saw it say Jarvis has a soccer match. I'll get Monica. I'm going to miss one game. That's fine. The movie's not until 9.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Oh, I can do both. Okay, amazing. Yeah. I didn't know it was not until 9. Holy smokes. Okay, well, that means Liebe Fumke can't be there. That's fine. Because she goes to bed at 8.
Starting point is 01:13:16 That's fine. Stu, I got to tell you, I'm really excited for this. I hope so. I'm going to be there. Because you're really going to enjoy it. When's our next toast? We have a toast before then, right? Okay, we'll make sure the FOTMs come out.
Starting point is 01:13:26 Sure. Can you be there at Canada Kev? For sure. Kareem, would you come to this? You're a big Stewstone fan. He says yes. I hope Kareem doesn't go, then I'm canceling the whole thing. It's canceled.
Starting point is 01:13:35 Okay. This is happening. This is the most excited I've ever been. Is that the weed or is that just the environment? No, that's the weed. Stew. Stew. Stew.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Is this movie scary? I don't think it is. I think it's funny. There's great. No. It's the weed. Stew. Stew, is this movie scary? I don't think it is. I think it's funny. Oh, there's great, no. It's very funny. There's Great Lakes beer cans in this movie. All right, that's fine. What you're going to see is an opportunity for future projects to, like, incorporate Canna Cabana stuff.
Starting point is 01:13:56 Beautiful. I love that. Because I'm the guy that will do that. Heck yeah, man. And Bandits is coming down the pipe. I break the rules. This is amazing. This is fun.
Starting point is 01:14:03 This is a fun time. Is this a Sativa outing or an indica outing? Both. Both? The movie's good both? Both. Okay. Equal opportunity.
Starting point is 01:14:11 So, big Donnie Darko fan. Okay. Is it scarier than Donnie Darko? Donnie Darko's not scary. I know, but I found it scary. I'm giving you my level of tolerance here. It's scarier than Donnie Darko. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:24 Cool. Cool. Cool. The rabbit. Andy, you'll love it. Honestly, I've seen it. I saw giving you my level of tolerance here. Yeah, it's not scarier than Donnie Darko. Okay, cool, cool, cool. The rabbit left me pretty scared. Andy, you'll love it. Honestly, I've seen it. I saw it on Hollywood Suite. And speaking of Donnie Darko, two of the biggest stoners that I've ever come in contact
Starting point is 01:14:35 with, both in that film. Really? Who's that? Well, Seth Rogen. Okay, yep. And Patrick Swayze, the late Patrick Swayze. Big pot Swayze Big pothead Yeah nice He was smoking like this I told you on our first interview
Starting point is 01:14:48 Yeah yeah yeah He had like Them fucking Juicy Like weed I'd never seen before Have you ever gotten high And looked at a spinning
Starting point is 01:14:56 Pottery wheel And then played with it Swayze has Exactly God rest his soul But man That guy had the best butt. Shout out to Ridley Fiora.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Stu, I got a question for you. What about Woody Harrelson? Isn't he like legendary pot? I heard he's toned down, but he's a weed guy for sure. Did he tone down or did he say he stopped smoking weed? I don't know if that's true. There was like a five-minute period there where everybody said they stopped smoking weed. I think even Miley Cyrus dogpiled on that thing.
Starting point is 01:15:27 I bet you they're all smoking weed again. Of course. Even Snoop tried to stop for a time. No, no, no. No, he didn't. Oh, so Kareem. It was very brief. It was very brief.
Starting point is 01:15:37 Okay, but Kareem, I should tell you, Andy has a connection to Snoop Dogg. You want to remind us? Yeah, we used to make all of the Snoop Dogg bongs, the Snoop Dogg pounds products. And so that was really how we got started. And yeah, I mean, you know,
Starting point is 01:15:51 I've met Snoop a few times, I've been to a lot of his shows, and I've never seen him without cannabis. And his weed is the fucking strongest, man. I'm telling you, I shot something with Snoop.
Starting point is 01:16:01 He passed a joint. What's his number? He passed a joint. What do you mean? His phone number? You didn't know? So apparently he supposedly smokes like 40 plus He passed a joint. What's his number? He passed a joint. What do you mean? His phone number? You didn't know? So apparently he supposedly smokes like 40 plus blunts a day.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Okay, but Stu, you gave me a joint and you said it was like 3.6. You gave me a number. Nah, Snoop's another level. Yeah, but I want to know what his number is. Like 20. So Mike, you know, Snoop will often smoke like blunts that are as long as my arm.
Starting point is 01:16:25 He'll just smoke those. As long as his... Oh, like that sandwich Homer Simpson had that he kept eating even though it went green or whatever. It's novelty size. But Snoop told a story that he had a... On the advice of, I think it was Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, that he tried going without pot for a little while. So he gave it a try.
Starting point is 01:16:47 I can't remember how long it took, but it didn't take very long. Well, you know, a lot of rappers that rap about weed don't actually smoke weed. Like 50 Cent, Dr. Dre. These guys don't smoke weed. Right. But they rap about it all the fucking time.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Jay-Z, too. Yeah. Probably others. Because they know that the all the fucking time. Jay-Z too. Yeah. Probably others. Because they know that the potheads are listening. So you're kind of like shouting them out by claiming to smoke. Right. Mike, I'm trying to gesture that this is a lamp. Like, is there a light?
Starting point is 01:17:16 No, no, we don't want a light. Oh, we don't want a light. Then once it gets darker. The stream looks pretty weird now. Once the stream gets really dark, things are going to get lit around here. I feel like it's pretty. I can get a light. I have a light. In fact, we used to have it are going to get lit around here. I can get a light. I have a light.
Starting point is 01:17:27 In fact, we used to have it for Pandemic Fridays. Right now, I got to do a WKRP moment and a Ridley Funeral Home shout out because right now you're working over the board just like Mr. Ferryman sitting in the studio there when he's doing his weird freaking head dance and the light's coming up. Shout out to Ridley Funeral Home. My next
Starting point is 01:17:44 guest is Mark Weisblot who's going to come over and we're going to have shout out to Ridley Funeral Home my next guest is Mark Weisblot who's going to come over and we're going to have quite a lengthy Ridley Funeral Home Memorial segment and we're going to give some proper respect to FOTM Andrew Crystal so shout out to Ridley Funeral Home
Starting point is 01:17:59 hey all these jams man I'm going to get another one going here but actually you know before I kick out this obvious jam do you guys know this song here let me make. I'm going to get another one going here. Actually, before I kick out this obvious jam, do you guys know this song? Here, let me make sure I'm playing the right one here. Are we smoking on the WAPA here, Stu? Yeah. Nice.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Tell me if you guys, let's listen for a moment and tell me if you know this song. One toke over the line. One toke over the line, sweet Jesus. One toke over the line. Do you know this jam? Sounds familiar. on time Sitting downtown in a railway station, one toke over the line. Stu, you know this jam? Sounds familiar. I don't think the toke they're singing about is the toke we're thinking about, right, Kev? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:18:56 No, probably not, but otherwise they're greening out at the train station. If it isn't. But I heard it and I'm like, what is this? It sounds like the people Who do Love in the afternoon No
Starting point is 01:19:08 Afternoon Delight Afternoon Delight The best part Scene I love the rest of development I'm a big fan And then that whole like The father's daughter
Starting point is 01:19:17 Singing the afternoon Delight together You know who is like The most legendary Pop culture Weed smoker ever? Ralph Ben-Murgy. No. Even bigger than Snoop.
Starting point is 01:19:33 Oh, Willie Nelson. Willie Nelson. Yeah. Number one. Is he number one? Number one. And he's still with us, so that tells you it doesn't kill you. If you talk to anybody in the business.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Yeah, I've heard this. Anybody who has a Snoop in the business. Yeah, I've heard this. Anybody who has a Snoop Dogg story gets outdone by a Willie Nelson story. Willie Trump Snoop. Willie is number one. And those stories of Willie go for decades. Willie's number one for sure. He might just be a cool guy.
Starting point is 01:20:01 I mean, he freaking smoked a joint on top of the White House. What? Willie's the number one part smoker ever. President, yeah. Jimmy Carter Rock, he brought the Allman Brothers out. He loved the Allman Brothers. Wow.
Starting point is 01:20:11 What a hero. Yeah, Willie's number one. Because I like this crew here, like I like the vibe of tonight, I'm going to ask you a question because I'm naturally curious.
Starting point is 01:20:19 Like, can you guys maybe go around the circle and tell me what are you guys like digging these days in terms of like television shows on the streaming services, etc.? Like, what are you guys watching these days? Mike's high.
Starting point is 01:20:34 I'm just kidding. No, I was going to ask that. I'm kidding. I'm not. I'm joking. I'm joking. I feel good, though. That's good.
Starting point is 01:20:38 I felt good before I smoked that joint, but now I feel really good. Nice. Who do we start with here? How about you, Stu? Like, what are you watching, man? I'm like the worst person to ask. Okay. Because like I just. Then we'll skip good. Nice. Who do we start with here? How about you, Stu? What are you watching, man? I'm like the worst person to ask. Okay. We'll skip you.
Starting point is 01:20:49 Yeah. Watch sports. You just watch sports. I may also be the worst person to ask. Andy, so you're not going home and watching Severance or anything? Actually, I watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with my mother. That's something. Okay.
Starting point is 01:21:00 Trudy's not watching this live now, is she? She might be. She doesn't smoke weed. Let her know Toast is not on Thursday this month. She knows, yeah. It's Tuesday. But Mrs. Maisel she loves. And I like it.
Starting point is 01:21:11 It's like not something I thought I would like. I liked it for a bit and then I got kind of tired of it. It's got like a Neil Simon kind of vibe to it. Not Paul Simon. Neil Simon, the playwright. It's very like... Lost in Yonkers, Neil Simon. The banter is very Neil Simon-y.
Starting point is 01:21:23 Right. Which in a good way. But, you know, we watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, obviously. Sure. Good shows.
Starting point is 01:21:29 There's a great show. It's a couple years old now, but it was called The Night Of. I loved it. Incredible show. Yeah, an HBO... John Turturro plays a lawyer.
Starting point is 01:21:36 And he's in Severance, by the way. What happened to that? It was the best show. It was just a... The foot problem, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, dude,
Starting point is 01:21:41 it was just like a six-episode arc. But it was so good. No, but at one point, I thought I heard that that was going to be continued. Oh. That it was hanging. It's excellent. That actor.
Starting point is 01:21:49 What's the name of that actor? Does anyone know? Yeah, he was good. He was excellent. And he's the same guy. That movie I saw, Sound of Metal. Do you ever see this movie? I never saw that.
Starting point is 01:21:56 The deaf guy? The drummer who goes deaf? Oh, right. Yeah, yeah. I haven't seen it. He's phenomenal in that thing. But that's a great show as far as scripted shows go. I know that there's probably, there's shows I've
Starting point is 01:22:05 see, I have never, I never watched a lot of classic shows that people love. Like Mad Men. Mad Men, Breaking Bad. Cam and I love Mad Men. I've never seen any of these shows. And I feel like an asshole. The Wire? The Wire. Greatest show I ever saw. A lot of them seem like a big commitment now, like if you want to jump into
Starting point is 01:22:22 them, right? It's not even that. It's like in my mind, it's almost like exercising, right? Like I feel like I'm going to do it in the future. Go for the shorter form comedy ones. Like go for Louis Anderson, Baskets. If my team. Baskets is mind-blowing. God rest his soul.
Starting point is 01:22:38 Oh, it's so good. And it's bizarre. If I'm going to watch TV, though, it's usually like sports. Yeah. Barry. Barry is another one. Oh, that's a good show. Who do you think is going to watch TV, though, it's usually like sports. Barry. Barry's another one. That's a good show. Who do you think's going to win the battle? We got Edmonton versus Colorado.
Starting point is 01:22:50 Who's going to win this series? I'm hoping that it's going to be Edmonton. It'll be nice to see a Canadian team in there. Kadri or Hyman? I got to go with Hyman because he's one of my members of my tribe. Yes, that's true. I got to go with probably the only Jewish player in the league. That might be true.
Starting point is 01:23:07 Does either team have a first string goalie starting? I don't think so. I like Mike Smith because he's in his 40s like me. That guy's wild, man. Saw him explaining that goal for me. What about the NBA championship? Golden State's taking on Boston. I mean, if anybody likes Boston, then they're obviously not a real Torontonian.
Starting point is 01:23:24 We got a route against Boston no matter what sport it is. Steph Curry, also a Toronto native. Yeah, for a period of time. Just like Miley Cyrus, by the way. As recently as last summer, he was living here. Really? Oh, because he married a girl from here. Yeah, his girlfriend or his wife is from Toronto,
Starting point is 01:23:40 and I know he had a place by Earl Bales Park. People used to see him walking in the park all the time. That's wild. and I know we had a place by Earl Bales Park. People used to see him walking in the park all the time. That's wild. I could see, you know, if Golden State didn't make the championship this year, there could have been like a possibility that we'd see a Steph Curry, Raptors, something. But now, I don't think he'll ever not be a Golden State warrior. Like, he's got to play the whole way.
Starting point is 01:24:02 And now we're shifting into a Hebsey on sports thing here. Hebsey on sports. Are you a sports guy? Sort of. He's a baseball guy. I'm a music guy. I likeon sports thing here. Hebzeon sports. Are you a sports guy? Sort of. He's a baseball guy. I'm a music guy. I like baseball. I love music and I love sports. You like sports.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Yeah, I mean, so I love live sports, man. But, you know, to be honest with you. I have to watch sports. Nighttime for me is dedicated almost entirely to weed and sleep. If I'm being honest, you know, it's been a pretty wild ride in the last three years of cannabis. So my TV watching has gone down a bit. But I'm ambitious that it's going to come back. What about you, Kev?
Starting point is 01:24:29 What are you watching these days? You've got the top secret FOTM pirate server. Oh, is that? That's you that has that? Yes. Oh, this whole time I did not figure that out. He's coming handy. You've got to show me how to get all that.
Starting point is 01:24:42 I'll help you. I'll help you. He's amazing. Yeah, I've got a few things on the go, man. Like, I've got a Finnish severance. I was really show me How to get all that I'll help you I'll help you He's amazing I got a few things On the go man Like I've got to Finish Severance I was really liking that
Starting point is 01:24:48 I enjoyed it I watched it I enjoyed it The finale's amazing Yep Hacks Hacks season 2 started I just started
Starting point is 01:24:55 Because my mom My mom doesn't have Craves So she She wants us to watch it She visits on Sundays For a couple hours And we have to watch it then So I'm glad
Starting point is 01:25:02 Yeah So I've only seen Yeah I've only seen the first two episodes on that. Thanks to HBO and Netflix later on, television has, much like the cannabis products have, television has
Starting point is 01:25:15 evolved into this beautiful thing now. TV shows are not bullshit anymore. They're like movies. Every episode is a fucking movie. It's very well acted. Movie stars are in TV shows now. What regular network TV shows do you watch? Zero.
Starting point is 01:25:32 At least a decade. The last one I watched was season 3 of Arrested Development, which was on Fox. I never watched it. That's how far back I gotta go. Didn't that stream though? Now it is, But Netflix bought it Schitt's Creek is the last
Starting point is 01:25:46 I tried twice I love it I did see Arrested Development And I do very often get Get mistaken for Oh my god Job? No
Starting point is 01:25:57 Levy's son Dan Levy Oh that's Schitt's Creek Who just said That's Schitt's Creek Oh my god Do people think you're Dan Levy? I gotta tell you
Starting point is 01:26:04 It's in the double digits now. Let me see your eyebrows. Oh, no, no. If you're wearing a bar or something like that from a distance. It happens everywhere, especially in the U.S. I go to the U.S., everybody immediately assumes I'm Dan Levy. But you name it. Grocery store in my local town.
Starting point is 01:26:19 You know, folks in random airports. It's getting a little disconcerting. Hey, moment to just take a moment to tell you, though. I'm hearing this fucking Led Zeppelin in the airports. It's getting a little disconcerting. Hey, moment to just take a moment to tell you, though. I'm hearing this fucking Led Zeppelin in the headphones, and we're having this chat about what we're watching on TV, and I'm feeling good, and I just want to say this is a fucking great night. I'm so glad you guys came out for this.
Starting point is 01:26:36 I love you, man. Hey, and kudos to you, buddy, man. You're freaking running all this shit right now. Heck yeah. Oh, I'm not recording. Am I supposed to record this? Oh, no. I will say that we should talk about
Starting point is 01:26:47 what's your favorite kind of stoner shows and movies. What are the top ten? Oh, that's a good one. What's your shows do? You took over when I went to find the splitter. Can I jump in here?
Starting point is 01:26:55 Sure. Could it be a movie or a TV show? Number one's got to be Planet Earth, right? Someone's got to be with me on that one. You've got to see Planet Earth. Nature Docs. If you haven't seen Planet Earth. 4K. But is that a weed show? Oh Nature Docs. If you haven't seen Planet Earth, see Planet Earth. 4K.
Starting point is 01:27:05 But is that a weed show? Oh yeah. 100% it is. Planet Earth, Stu, if you haven't gotten stoned and watched... It's a documentary series that just shows you crazy shit about the planet. If you've not watched crazy shit about the planet while stoned, it's really good. I'll check it out. I'll check it out. Or like there's a documentary way back,
Starting point is 01:27:21 there's a bunch of them from a Japanese one, Koyaan Takashi or whatever. And I don't know. There's a series of like three of them. And it's all just images done in the modern world. It's just like it gets really heavy and then it gets really light. That's amazing. Yeah, he wants you to dumb it down a shade. You guys are talking about stuff that's not cool to watch when you smoke.
Starting point is 01:27:37 I'm talking about stuff that's like about smoking. You know, like weed. Okay, I have one. High Maintenance is an HBO show that I loved. And I wasn't smoking when I watched it. I love this show, High Maintenance. It's HBO. I would say that Dazed and Confused was a pretty good movie
Starting point is 01:27:53 to introduce a whole generation to how it was in the 70s. Soundtrack was incredible in the movie. A lot of iconic Weedish lines like, Be a lot cooler if you did. That goes back now Is that what 95 It's gotta be 92 That soundtrack Costs more than
Starting point is 01:28:09 The rest of that movie I heard something Like the budget Most of the budget Went to the soundtrack See and that's the opposite Of how my life works I can't wait to have
Starting point is 01:28:16 A music budget But for now We're having fun baby Oh by the way Teaser We will be hearing Some Stu Stone Before I wrap
Starting point is 01:28:23 This up tonight Yes We will Can I give a little credit to the movie Friday? Sure. That's classic. Absolute classic. Because we were talking about earlier what weed trips are not like.
Starting point is 01:28:36 Right? When we're talking about, oh, in the movies where you're floating on cotton candy, riding a rainbow, whatever, that's not marijuana. The scene in friday that really captured what being high really was to me was that scene when ice cube was on the couch with me along and she looked at his eyes and she said craig you look high so ice cube proceeds to brush off his shirt and his pants and then he looks at her again and he says, do I still look high?
Starting point is 01:29:07 That is marijuana. That's funny. That is marijuana. That's funny. Oh, that's so good. That's so good. I love that. I love that. And that.
Starting point is 01:29:15 That's funny shit. So you got to shout out Cheech and Chong's up in smoke. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Obviously. I mean, sorry. Dave ain't here, man. And Tommy Chong, you know, he's not only in the movies, but he's been in jail for his activism and his various contributions to the bong. He went selling bongs.
Starting point is 01:29:34 Operation Pipedream. So I'm buddies with the guy Jason Harris. You know that name? Jason. Jerome Baker was their company. Yeah, Jerome Baker. Big 90s class pieces. They all went to jail on the same day.
Starting point is 01:29:46 Operation Pipe Dream. They kicked in the door of all the... You know how they got them? It was illegal to ship bongs in Pennsylvania. So they set up a sting called Operation Pipe Dream where they contacted all of the bong companies and they ordered a bunch of shit to Pennsylvania and see who ships it
Starting point is 01:30:06 and whoever ships it finished. And it was really close, wasn't it? Like that they almost didn't or something? Yeah. Because there was a documentary
Starting point is 01:30:12 and it was incredibly expensive. Yeah, the Jason Harris guys, they went to New Jersey to try to get him to drive it over and the guy wouldn't do it. It was actually Chong's son, I believe,
Starting point is 01:30:20 had the company and, but, you know, Chong ended up, I think Chong and his son both went to jail Chong and Longer
Starting point is 01:30:28 I can't remember his name was on the but I'm sorry you know now that you say Jason Harris from again Jerome Baker
Starting point is 01:30:33 like we carry a lot of their product number one back in the 90s they invented the fucking oh man they're cool people
Starting point is 01:30:39 every time you see them at like a trade show or whatever they're just like drop my name next time they've got this giant you know hand blown 20 footer it's insane it's they didn't assemble like a trade show or whatever. They're just like... Drop my name next time. They've got this giant, you know, hand-blown bong.
Starting point is 01:30:46 20-footer. It's insane. Bongzilla. They didn't assemble it either. I think they just blew it. It was insane. Unbelievable. Yeah, so I got into that world,
Starting point is 01:30:56 like the Champs trade show and all that stuff. Oh, nice. So I would go and do live broadcasts from the convention. This is when streaming was like, people were like, what are you doing? This is in 2009 or 10.
Starting point is 01:31:08 Oh, my God. My first chance was in 2016. Wow, that's great. So for a few years I was going and hosting. They had flame-offs and all this stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I brought my mom once, and she was interviewing this guy, Bob Snodgrass. I mean, these names might not mean stuff to you,
Starting point is 01:31:23 but to people who know bongs, Bob Snodgrass. I mean, these names might not mean stuff to you, but to people who know bongs, Bob Snodgrass is God. And so my mom's like talking to him and it was so fun. And the Glass Games is still going strong and it's actually so much fun to watch. You know, it's like, so just to give you guys an idea, basically it's this trade show and you know, there's companies there that are, you know, make hundreds of millions of dollars a year and like, you know, all these, all these big distributors and all sorts of stuff. And then in the very heart of this show, it's just artisans,
Starting point is 01:31:48 just like 50, 60, 70 glass blowers all lined up, and all weekend long they're just blowing these amazing pieces. And at the end, despite the fact that everybody's doing all this big business now, everyone goes down to the glass games and sees who blew the coolest pieces, and it's just a really amazing moment. It's mesmerizing to watch. It's really cool to see how they do it. So cool.
Starting point is 01:32:08 I mean, glass blowing is genuinely an art. And it's become a collectible piece of like store value now. Like there's bongs that are selling for $20,000, $30,000. Oh, sure. It's like owning a piece of art. And it's made out of glass. So it's like, it's fragile. It can break.
Starting point is 01:32:23 Yeah. Crazy. It's pretty cool. It can break. Yeah. Crazy. It's pretty cool. It's crazy. First thing I always think when I see any kind of glass smoking object or whatever is, oh my God, how do you clean it? So funny that- I have an A-
Starting point is 01:32:33 Speaking of your birthday in October, so I have a German Rohrbong that's got a Canada flag on the front and in the back it's stamped with the day of legalization. Oh, cool. And that to me is like one of my prized possessions. That's like R-O-R-H or R-O-H? R-O-O-R. So Rohr. You know Rohr.
Starting point is 01:32:52 Yeah, Rohr is like the most knocked off bong of all time. It's like if there was like a Chanel bag of like knocked off bongs, it would be a... It's like your standard like glass, you know, it's like the Coke bottle. But, you know, they're obviously really well made. And specifically, like Rohr made in Germany because it's from Germany is incredible glass. And so we own a website called grasscity.com. And, you know, chances are good if you were in university in like the early 2000s, you probably bought a bong from grasscity.com.
Starting point is 01:33:23 And, you know, still it's the largest online head shop in the world and they're based out of Amsterdam and so all of these really great European brands still make their way over to us from there and so I've seen some very cool glass from Rohr specifically. That's awesome. The crazy thing is that the people who got into making glass bongs
Starting point is 01:33:39 provide a product for some of the clumsiest people and it's like, here's something that will break. That's part of the charm of it, though, man. You almost have like a moment with the bong. It's a real great metaphor for life. You can't hold on to everything forever, right? You have a great time with it, and then away it goes.
Starting point is 01:33:57 Fucked up on a bong. It's a funny thing that you say that, because a lot of people think that bongs are used to just get you completely messed up. They think that that's the purpose of a bong. But actually, a bong is to provide the ultimate filtration. Bongs are like thousands and thousands of years old. But the hits just feel bigger.
Starting point is 01:34:15 It's true. But what's cool about a bong is you've got a bowl. So you can literally put in the exact amount of cannabis you want to smoke and away you go. If you don't pack it to the brim, you want to put in 0.1, 0.2, whatever it is, and you can have a consistent dose every time. Actually, easier to kind of manage yourself than a joint. You're right. You make sense. You're the pro, but at the same time,
Starting point is 01:34:34 it just psychologically feels different because there's like this tube of smoke going in and you see like this hole. Visually, it's a different I said what I said, but most people are still smoking bongs to the absolute brim and getting tuned up. And just coughing for like an hour. And the dabs don't even get me started.
Starting point is 01:34:52 It's like... That shit is so fucked. If you don't know what a dab is, basically you take a glass bong which has a little attachment on it. It looks like a little bucket. And here's the hard part. And you've got to take out a blowtorch. Now, there's lots of new technology and stuff, so you don't have to do this anymore. But you've got to take out a blowtorch and light this bong up and then drop your cannabis
Starting point is 01:35:11 extract in it. I've got to tell you, it's not a very flattering look. And the first time someone pulled out a blowtorch in my presence, I ducked for cover. It's a crazy feeling, though. It's much different than smoking a joint. It's just an intense amount. It's an intense, it's concentrated. Very, very short moment, and that's it, right?
Starting point is 01:35:29 But it's like, whoa. Yeah, heat the nail. Heat the nail. Actually, I really love concentrates because I find they give me a bit more of a body experience. Everybody loves them. And they're very flavorful because you have all these concentrated terpenes, which are the elements that give cannabis its flavors. And so when you have a really nice concentrate,'s almost in my mind at least nothing that tastes better oh i agree i fully agree and that's for me the thing like i i still
Starting point is 01:35:54 smoke joints regularly just because of the convenience for them they're transportable when i walk the dogs whatever it might be but there's nothing better than than either for taste than vaping or using concentrates. Totally. And vaping concentrates. You get so much of the flavor. Totally. Because so many people, I think, combust it and they go,
Starting point is 01:36:10 I don't taste blueberry. Why did they call this blueberry? And it's just like, okay, here, vape it or take a concentrate. Now you'll know the taste. And you can also make custom ones, right? Like you can infuse your own terpene profiles, correct? You can do all sorts of things with concentrates. People do, you know, they have, for example, terpene extracts.
Starting point is 01:36:26 They'll add them to dabs. They'll do dabs with those. So there's lots of cool stuff you can do with them. But, yeah, I mean, you know, what's nice about concentrates is that if they've been produced really well, it's a really clean experience. It's a really clean flavor, and it's like weed 2.0. You know what I mean? That being said, I'll always be a joint guy.
Starting point is 01:36:43 The big thing for me was the concentrates. Don't leave me hanging. It's dark out, but I got my hand up for you. Come on, man. I had to really struggle to find my hand. It's dark out here, people. The sun has set here. Hey, Canada Kev, this is your favorite song
Starting point is 01:37:00 to listen to when you're high. I know. There's no one favorite because like I say. All music. When I asked that question, this was your answer. When I had to narrow down that list, it was hard. I'm terrible because
Starting point is 01:37:10 I don't listen to actual stoner jams when I consume cannabis. My favorite smoking album is Day for Night by Tragically. Oh my gosh. I had the producer
Starting point is 01:37:19 of that album is an FOTM. Mark Howard. So Mike, now the thing for you is like you now you now get to experience, if you so choose, to go forward and, you know, partake in some of the cannabis, and then listen to Day for Night with the cans on, or in front of some nice speakers with nobody interrupting you.
Starting point is 01:37:37 Dude, I'm so into this idea. And you are now going to, it's going to be a whole new experience. And you will feel and see and hear things that you didn't before. So you can now take that time and go, this is going to be special. And once you do it once, you're going to be hooked. Because then, not hooked on the weed, but hooked on being able to do that. Hooked on phonics. Yeah, just have your little toot and then go and listen to tunes.
Starting point is 01:38:02 It's like high-fidelity music. I can't believe that this is a new listen to tunes. It's like high fidelity music. I can't believe that this is like a new door for you. That's so insane. I can't believe it. Yeah, that's bizarre. And now we're all excited for you because you're like our little child now. Remember, Mark Wiseblood said he's going to become a pothead. Well, he was supposed to be here.
Starting point is 01:38:19 I know. Why didn't he come? Because he's scared? It's not good for his brand to show up at too many things. Is that what he said? No, that's my analysis. Is his brand like Stay Away? But Canada Kev, what is this song I'm listening to right now?
Starting point is 01:38:34 Sounds like something you'd hear at the check-in at the W Hotel. You know what? It's really weird. This is Most Infectious Fricking Groove, and this is by a band called Thievery Corporation. Oh, I guess my buddy Scott Peter was into that
Starting point is 01:38:48 yeah There are a couple DJs out of Washington D.C. or something and I don't know they brought in these world elements to their sound I guess
Starting point is 01:38:56 and I came across this song through a co-worker at one point and I was just like oh this is freaking amazing I like it and it's called
Starting point is 01:39:02 Lebanese Blonde and it's called Lebanese Blonde and Lebanese Blonde. And it's called Lebanese Blonde. And Lebanese Blonde is a kind of hash, right? Yeah, it's a kind of hash from Lebanon. Some people just exclusively smoke hash, too. I've noticed that. Oh, you see, that's where my wife goes.
Starting point is 01:39:14 Hash is very big right now. All of a sudden, you know, somebody had a hash joint rolling, then she'd come over and she goes, hey, here's your hash. It's so weird because hash smokers are totally like that, right? It's got to be the old school hash. Yeah, some of the hash now isn't like the old like that. But it's got to be the old school hash. Yeah, that's some of the hash now. We don't like the old school hash. Dude, we got lots of good old school hash.
Starting point is 01:39:28 So let me hit you with a couple names here. But you can buy hash at the Iconic Cabana? Oh, yeah, you can, my friend. We got Tromblon hash. Beautiful little temple. Wow. Amazing. So get some Tromblon hash.
Starting point is 01:39:39 I'm off to Quebec's a giveaway. Quebec's a giveaway there. That's a good one. We've also got Vortex, which is very, very good. It's like a true black hash. Gorgeous stuff. So check it out. Tr've also got Vortex, which is very, very good. It's like a true black hash. Gorgeous stuff. So check it out. Trombone, Vortex, two really good hashes right now.
Starting point is 01:39:49 Great. But I just wanted to also say that this song specifically was like the perfect jamming in the back of my mind song. That can go forever. Totally. Just let it go. When Stu said it's like the entrance of the W Hotel hotel it's both hilarious and also true factual but then if you hear it with you all your focus on it it just it just floats and you float away with it it was and the lyrics are all about smoking hash essentially it's like too high what is it uh too low to know the way too high to care kind of thing and just you know somebody kind of
Starting point is 01:40:22 going through a high kind of thing and it's like when you look at that with you thing. And it's just, you know, somebody kind of going through a high kind of thing. And it's like, when you look at it that way, you realize, oh, it's even more of a pod song. But, you know, yeah, it's just a love that groove. It was, it's, and like, you know what, you almost, when we were sitting here chatting, you almost didn't even notice it was on. It was so groovy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:37 Now here's a song I think we'll notice it's on, but I want to turn the mic, pass the mic to Stu Stone. Well, we're already at that point? Well, I didn't know. I actually don't know what your timelines are like. I think I threatened to make this a 90-minute episode, and we passed that a little while ago. Oh, did we?
Starting point is 01:40:52 Because I feel like we're just getting going. Okay. You realize with cannabis, it's very easy to get into wise blot territory. Just to be transparent, we're at about an hour 40. Yeah, I mean, this is just for us now just to talk. You can report it or not. Then please continue. We're back Weisblatt territory. Just to be transparent, we're at about an hour 40. Yeah, I mean, this is just for us now just to talk. You can record it or not. Then please continue. I mean, we're sitting back here talking.
Starting point is 01:41:09 Did we ever finish the TV shows? We were about to talk about Bible stories. Okay. Weisblatt smoked. Cain and Abel. The show would be six hours. I swear. And it would be good.
Starting point is 01:41:18 You know, the Derringer story broke since the last time Weisblatt was here. So there's a lot to talk about. That's Thursday, though. The thing is. By the way, and there's a lot to talk about. That's Thursday, though. The thing is... By the way, there's a great Blair Packham episode. Blair Packham is the lead singer of the Jitters. Does he do a Wise Blot? He does a fantastic Wise Blot.
Starting point is 01:41:35 You have to hear this. This was last Friday. And I've had some great calls with Blair Packham since then because he had this wild Andrew Crystal story, which I cannot repeat on this live microphone. Well, there you go. There's a segue if I've ever heard one. There's a teaser for the feature.
Starting point is 01:41:52 Kareem, did you have a good time? Kareem, yeah. Kareem, this is like the most mic time. You've been to a TMLX event or two, but this is the most mic time you've had. You are going to be a regular on our new sub-series, Talkin' Weed with Andy-series, Talkin' Weed with Andy Palalas. Talkin' Pot. We couldn't have done it without Kareem, let's be honest.
Starting point is 01:42:11 Kareem, you're amazing, buddy. I gotta tell you, every time I walk into a dispensary, I am so envious of the people who work there. Well, you should only be walking into Canada Cabana locations. That's right. Because you're my neighbor I would be disappointed
Starting point is 01:42:25 As long as I can get that shirt I wanted to ask It is such a The shirt makes It gives me a Canna Cabana vibe What shirt? Oh the shirt from the Bud Tenders?
Starting point is 01:42:41 What are we talking about? No no no I'm just talking about Oh Andy's shirt Oh yeah I've been staring at a shirt all night. It's fucking up my brain here. Wow. There's something about Canna Cabana that makes me... Is that the weed or is that Andy's shirt?
Starting point is 01:42:55 I don't know. The shirt, the name, it reminds me of being in Jamaica smoking weed. The most weed-friendly place I've ever been to. Wow. Even more than this backyard? Sorry?
Starting point is 01:43:09 Even more so than this backyard? It's pretty friendly back here. And let me just say, you know, because my parents are Jamaican. Are they listening right now? In real Jamaica, they don't embrace marijuana as much as tourists Jamaica. Okay, because we think of Bob Marley. Yeah, but when I did Jamaica as tourist Jamaica. Right? When I did Jamaica as a tourist, when we were first getting going... Australians don't really put a shrimp on the barbie.
Starting point is 01:43:32 That's true. Shout out to Paul Hogan. When we were first getting going, our brand manager who I brought on was Jamaican. I got to tell you, he was probably one of my favorite people of all time. Even to this day, I have a little hat sitting in my office on my shelf behind me from Jamaica that he brought back for me. Because, like, honestly, the amount of, like, early days warmth and vibes and love that that guy brought to our brand was, like, part of the reason I'm convinced that we had, you know, such an explosive and great early start.
Starting point is 01:43:58 And, you know, I got to say, like, Trey, if you're out there, love you, buddy. Trey, if you're out there, love you, buddy. Trey. And also, if, if he's any, any indication or representation of Jamaican people as a whole, my favorite people of all time, because he's, he was just, just sunshine. And I just want to say also. Yeah. If, if you haven't gone to Jamaica. Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 01:44:18 I was going to give it to you. If you're worried about trying marijuana, just go to Jamaica. I'm not telling you to go there to smoke. If you just go there trying marijuana, just go to Jamaica. I'm not telling you to go there to smoke. If you just go there, that energy that you feel and that vibe that everybody falls in love with, that's marijuana. Even without smoking it. Yeah, it's more of the attitude, but the actual weed. Better weed at Canna Cabana than you get in Jamaica. Okay, Canna Cabana.
Starting point is 01:44:41 Remember Snoop Dogg, who was a big-time pothead, right? He was Snoop Dogg before he went to Jamaica. He went to Jamaica, he came back Snoop Lion. Snoop Lion. That's that feeling that marijuana gives you. Eddie Murphy was doing it all day, too. Canada Cab, we're going down the line here, and we're going to end with Stu,
Starting point is 01:44:59 because he's going to introduce this song. Hold on, just about Jamaica for one second. If anybody has committed to listening to this for an hour 50, they deserve to get something good out of this. If you are going to Jamaica as a tourist, which most people are unless you're going to visit family and you're from Jamaica, but if you're listening to this and you're not from Jamaica
Starting point is 01:45:16 and you're going there as a tourist and you're planning on going and staying at one of these sort of resort type places, might I let you know that if you're not staying in Montego Bay, you are going on an adventure to get to your resort. I'm talking like a one-lane, two-hour, on a road that's the size of this table. Your bus could fall off a cliff in any second. Wow. It is.
Starting point is 01:45:42 That's the junction. That's the junction. It's insane. The junction. Like you are risking your. It is insane. That's the junction. That's the junction. It's insane. The junction. Like you are risking your life to get to go lay on the beach. Kingston over. Kingston over. Wow.
Starting point is 01:45:51 It's crazy. It's the junction through the mountains. Okay. And I went there and with my dad we drove around the coast. And then we drove through the junction to come to a business meeting. It's crazy. It was insane. It was.
Starting point is 01:46:01 Total cliff and then like a mountain. Like you make one slight wrong turn and there's goats and people everywhere like waving and then they're waving that's like you know hitch a ride kind of thing
Starting point is 01:46:09 it was like it was pretty wild it had to be high to get through it Kareem it's a pleasure having you as a neighbor I also consider you a friend oh wow
Starting point is 01:46:18 that's big that's an upgrade and you've been a character on these Pandemic Fridays right Stu well before Toast debuted you've been somebody we'd these Pandemic Fridays, right, Stu? Well before Toast debuted. You've been somebody we'd reference with great admiration.
Starting point is 01:46:28 And great odor. Odorific emanations come from the other side of the fence. I'm so glad you could join us here tonight. So thank you, Kareem. Can I just take some time to say something? As much time as you want, pal. To Stu. Yes, to me. I would love to witness this.
Starting point is 01:46:43 When I first moved here and I would listen to the show and I would listen to Stu, I was like, oh, my God. This guy knows everything about everything cool. About Toto. There's no way. I can't even. I'm shy to get into conversations with this guy because he knows everything. You're intimidated by him. About everything that's cool.
Starting point is 01:47:01 Yeah, I'm the same way. And then today he said that he didn't watch The Wire. I know. And he didn't watch Breaking Bad. No, I disappointed you. It's almost like Superman telling you, look, honestly, I can't actually fly. But I make up for it, though. I have a little jet pack under my cape here.
Starting point is 01:47:16 I make up for it in other ways. In other ways, my friend. Stu, I'll lend you my DVD collection of The Wire, okay? We'll fix that. Okay, so Kareem, thank you so much. Canada Kev, who came here, waltzed into the backyard. My kids were here. My six-year-old and my eight-year-old were here.
Starting point is 01:47:30 And he gives them drones for fuck's sake. That's crazy. Did you win them in a raffle? No, they were some online deal like two or three years ago. Extra drones? Wow. Also, though, wait, don't bury the lead. He gave them the big,
Starting point is 01:47:45 you know, Duff, right? The beer in The Simpsons. A huge plush Duff. Oh, you weren't joking about the Duff beer. Yeah, and I know Morgan's excited about like... Canada Kev, Uncle Kev.
Starting point is 01:47:55 Some kind of little bear you gave him from The Grateful Dead? Yeah, a little Grateful Dead baby bear. He's like the uncle they never had. That's his Uncle Kev.
Starting point is 01:48:03 By the way, that Beanie Baby Grateful Dead bear What's it worth? It's worth like $300 or $400 Wow It's the Shakedown Street one Born on April 16, 1978
Starting point is 01:48:14 Red Rock Show She better not drool on that thing Canada Kev, you are a valued FOTM And it was an absolute pleasure having you on the microphone A real mensch You're one of the good ones. He gave me a family placard. Yeah, like the Stuart. That's not a placard.
Starting point is 01:48:30 We have to get a photo. It's my brother. We have to all get a photo after this. So Kareem, don't go home yet because we're going to take our selfie. That's not called a placard. It's a plaque. It's a plaque. Yeah, it's a shield. A placard is like a rash. It's like I'm pretty aware of the AVN show. It's the tartan, right? It's the tartan that the Scots have. You're Scottish, right, Scott?
Starting point is 01:48:45 Scott. Scott. Right, Stu? I can be. I can play one if you need. They can take our lives, but they can never take our freedom. Andy Palalas. Canada Kev did pretty good, I got to say.
Starting point is 01:48:59 He did good, kid. He brought some treats for everybody. He expressed himself eloquently. He brought some jams. Thank you, kid. He brought some treats for everybody. He expressed himself eloquently. He brought some jams. Thank you, sir. He kept up with the program big time. He also brought in a can of Cabana Halls. I feel good about that one. Thanks, Kev.
Starting point is 01:49:15 VIP. You're going to be the third inductee into the FOTM Hall of Fame. I got a picture of me in front of a can of Cabana with my product today. Which I will post. He's also wearing some wonderful pants right now. I could give it to my son. He has two and a half million followers. By the way, I didn't finish that thought.
Starting point is 01:49:31 Please do that. You guys, seriously, guys, guys. He's cutting deals with Liquid Blue right now. Oh my God. Guys, I didn't finish the thought. Sticker you. When you got two and a half million followers. I'm going to be wearing,
Starting point is 01:49:47 my Dewar pants are so rugged and stretchy, I can bike in them and I can waltz right into the boardroom. I look fly as fuck. No matter how many Palma pastas you can continue to put them on. Hold on. Oh, I'm packing in the Palma pasta. Can we just discuss something? Well, we're closing with Stu. What boardroom are you waltzing into?
Starting point is 01:50:02 I have clients. TMDS. Do you waltz into there? Do you like go into like a waltz in those into? I have clients. TMDS. Do you waltz into there? Do you go into a waltz in the space? I have financial services clients. That's so great. Andy Palalas. What a guy.
Starting point is 01:50:12 Yes. What a triumphant return to Toronto, Mike. Best Andy I've ever met. Oh, Stu. And there's been many Andys before. Lots of them. There's lots of Andys. Too many to be honest.
Starting point is 01:50:20 He's pre-K and post-K. Let me ask a question. Have you met Sandberg? Pre-1000 and post-1000. Let me ask a question. Have you met Sandberg? Pre-1000 and post-1000. So I'm better than Andy Sandberg? You could almost do an Andy Frost. Let's be real. Why don't we name him Andy?
Starting point is 01:50:33 I'll tell you honestly. If we can name a couple people named Andy that we know, starting with Andy Sandberg, I'll tell you whether right now I like them more than I like you. Andy owned the toys in Toy Story. Andy, the kid from Toy Story, I like you better. That kid's a selfish fuck. Andy, honestly, thank you so much for being a part of this.
Starting point is 01:50:53 Honestly, you've been a great supporter of the program. You know, this is episode 1058, and I'm so glad to be part of it. Oh, is it? Maybe you're right because I did one earlier today. That's how hard I work. That's how hard I work. 1,059. That's how hard I work for my sponsors. 105.9.
Starting point is 01:51:09 You should have done some deep dive on that station. No. Nobody cares about that. But Andy, people care about Andy. They care about Canada Cabana. This was fantastic. Thanks so much for dropping by tonight. What a blast, man.
Starting point is 01:51:20 Thanks for opening up your backyard under the stars, so to speak. Well, now we are under the stars. We are. When you first said it, I was like, man, those are clouds up there. But now they're stars. Thank you. I'm trying to your backyard under the stars, so to speak. And, uh, well now we are under this. We are. When you first said it, I was like, man, those are clouds up there, but now they're stars. Thank you. I'm trying to get back on the chat. Stars, by the way, the name of the band, I had Torquill Campbell on the program yesterday, lead singer and founder of the band stars. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 01:51:38 Stewstone. Yes. I need two things from you. I want you to set up this jam cause we're going to listen. Sure. And then we got to like, just get people so fucking excited about the next episode of Toast. Yes. And this event that we're going to, that Canada Cabana is going to be a part of where we get to see. I'm excited about that. That's for sure. So the microphone is yours.
Starting point is 01:51:57 Well, first off, thanks for inviting me, Mike. I didn't know what to expect. I thought this was going to be like that, the debacle that happened when you invited me on with Barb Paluskiewicz. You didn't show for that. I didn't show up for that one. But Andy had a much more compelling sort of backstory. He works for Kanaka Band and not internal technology or whatever she did. You need a Barb Paluskiewicz on your side.
Starting point is 01:52:18 I do. Not anymore, though. So I was a little bit cautious about coming here and thinking, oh, I'm going to be sitting here with some stiff talking about who the fuck knows. And it turns out that Andy and I have so much in common. I knew we would. Oh. And his store, I got to go check it out. But it sounds like I don't have to go very far.
Starting point is 01:52:38 They're everywhere. Oh, Stu, you're making me blush, buddy. Thank you. Even when I was in Niagara Falls. I've had fun, too. And he's got a good voice for radio. We went up Clifton Road, Clifton Hill. Clifton Hill.
Starting point is 01:52:47 It's good you said voice, not face. There it is. Canada Cabana, right there. Right there. He's got that radio voice. Oh, he's got a better voice than all of us combined. Come on, now. Come on, girls.
Starting point is 01:52:57 I'm a professional voiceover artiste telling you that, so that's kind of big. Yeah, he was in Magic School Bus. I was going to say Ralphie. It's a big case of voiceovers. Ralphie. You're sitting beside Ralphie. Do you realize that? kind of big. Yeah, he was in Magic School Bus. I was going to say Ralphie. It's a big kiss. Voiceovers. Ralphie. You're sitting beside Ralphie. Do you realize that? Huge.
Starting point is 01:53:08 My heart is full today. You know, Niagara Falls Comic Con this weekend. Is that right? Yeah. You can promote that. People will listen to this. If you want to come down to Niagara Falls, I will be allegedly signing autographs, Donnie Darko posters, Magic School Bus books and DVDs, whatever you need. Wow. Donnie Darko posters. Nice. Magic school bus, books and DVDs, whatever you need.
Starting point is 01:53:28 Wow. Okay, but set up now, please. Tell me what this jam is. A song was released recently, but I kind of put some of my songs in our movies, right? So this song is going to be in Vandits, but it's called Acapulco Gold, and it's a rap song, and it tells the story, and it's based on sort of a true story because when I was 16,
Starting point is 01:53:52 I went on spring break to Acapulco, and you can imagine what that was like, and I looked like I was like 12 when I was 16, right? So I was like, all my friends were like, I looked like I was 12. That was the year of all the spring break movies. Yes, so I went to spring break and so when we're on the beach, the guy on the beach is like, oh
Starting point is 01:54:12 Acapulco Gold, Acapulco Gold, like that's what they called the weed there, right? So it was so bad. It had like seeds and sticks, but we loved it because it was like when you're 16 and you're on vacation and you buy weed on the beach, it's amazing. And we had the best time.
Starting point is 01:54:28 So this is sort of a shout out to that strain, which there is actually Acapulco Gold is probably good, but just not the shit that this guy was selling. Yeah, Acapulco Gold is no joke. It's good stuff. But this guy gave us like bullshit. He literally put like- He saw some tourists. Yeah, he saw us coming a mile away. He pulled that one out of the ditch.
Starting point is 01:54:44 So this is kind of like a Slick Ricky kind of storytelling sort of rap song. You know, I do Moonlight occasionally and make some rap songs. This is one of them. And it's pretty short, so I'm actually going to let this play through, and then we'll pick it up on the other side. Here we go. Why you're saying? Hey, baby.
Starting point is 01:55:02 Get those passport stamps. Sound the trumpets. Ring the alarm. We all in now, baby. Sound the trumpets. Ring the alarm. We all in now, baby. Bet the whole farm. A true story, man. This ain't a joke. A man can go loco.
Starting point is 01:55:13 Looking for that smoko. This ain't a game, man. We hopping on a plane, man. So tell the story. We don't have to sit here and listen to this. Okay, I was going to listen to it. That's too embarrassing. That's too embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:55:24 Okay, so. But it's out there's too embarrassing That's too embarrassing Okay, so But it's out there People can check it out Acapulco Gold I just, you know I teased it all fucking night Sorry I thought I could play
Starting point is 01:55:31 More than 12 seconds of it No, you can play it Mike, Mike, put it up Put it up, buddy It's still Spanish Kareem's bobbing his head He likes it. Put your brain in a chokehold. Smoke road.
Starting point is 01:55:47 Acapulco gold. So that's the Acapulco gold. Is decisive, does he have anything to do with this jam? Okay. No. So whose beats are these? This is a guy called Wirefang. I dig it.
Starting point is 01:56:00 That's popping. It almost makes up for not watching The Wire. I'm making my own wire. That says a lot. Stu, listen. I just watched the new show on HBO. I have one episode to go. No, from the guy who made The Wire, okay, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Starting point is 01:56:14 But I'm watching this thing, and I like it. What is it? It's called This Is Our City. It's called what? No, We Own This City. Okay. It's called We Own This City. And I quite like it.
Starting point is 01:56:24 It's about corruption with the Baltimore Police Department. Okay. It's a very smart No, We Own This City. Okay. It's called We Own This City. And I quite like it. It's about corruption with the Baltimore Police Department. Okay. It's a very smart show, very good show. But I'm watching it, and there's some actors I know from The Wire, and the whole time I'm thinking, holy fuck, The Wire was a good show. Yeah, I got to watch it. I mean, I've obviously been told this for like 100 years already. There's 60 episodes, five seasons.
Starting point is 01:56:41 Yeah. I mean, I know the references and shit. Yeah. I'm aware of it. I'm not a fucking complete idiot. Like, I never really watched Seinfeld mean, I know the references and shit. I'm aware of it. I'm not a fucking complete idiot. Like, I never really watched Seinfeld, but I know Seinfeld. Oh, my God. You've never watched Seinfeld?

Starting point is 01:57:03 I'm just saying, like, when it was on in 1990, whatever, I wasn't watching it Thursdays at 8. 89 to 97. To be honest with you, I was busy fucking running around. The last complete TV series that I watched was Seinfeld. Well, it's a classic. I mean, it came out during the middle of the pandemic. When I say I didn't watch Seinfeld, I mean, like, when it was on. Sure.
Starting point is 01:57:20 Well, I was, yeah. You know, I wasn't. I think you got, like, eight or nine years on me, Stu. So I was definitely, you know, catching it up on the tail end.
