You're going to die.
Eventually, I mean, we all are.
I put out a call for your funeral or celebration of life jams, and here's what you'd like
played at yours.
Appropriately enough, we begin with Brad Jones from Ridley Funeral Home.
Brad knows a thing or two about funerals. Hey, it's Brad Jones from Ridley Funeral Home and Life's Undertaking.
And you know, I'm just going to give you my favorite funeral song, which would be from
Monty Python and it's The Brighter Side of Life.
It's the best funeral song and it's going to be played at my funeral in another 30 years,
hopefully.
Hopefully not before that. But you know if you really want to dive deep into
funeral songs with a funeral expert you can listen to Life's Undertakings and
there's three episodes about the most popular funeral songs. You know we
recorded those back in March and April of this year so give it a listen and
enjoy the rest of Mike's show. a whistle and this'll help things turn out for the best.
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy y've life seems jolly rotten there there's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps, don't be silly chumps,
Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing.
Hey!
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a vow
Forget about your sin, give the audience a grin
Enjoy it, it's your last chance at it all
Some will always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit when you look at it Life's a laugh, and death's a joke, it's true
You'll see it's all a show, keep on laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you And always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Come on Brian, cheer up!
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Well there's things that we see, you know
Always look on the bright side of life
What you gotta lose, you know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing
What you lost? Nothing!
Nothing will come from nothing, you know what I say?
Cheer up you old bugger!
Come on, give us a grin.
There you are.
See? It's the end of the film.
Incidentally this record's available in the foyer.
Someone's gotta live as well, you know.
Alright, that's a lot.
Let's get this place locked down.
He changed his mind in three weeks.
Big place for this bub.
He never made the money back, you know?
I told him.
I said to him, birding I said, they'll never make that money back.
I told him. I said to him. Burning, I said. I'll never make that money, right?
Hi Mike, it's Paula here.
Perhaps I'm obsessed with death, but I've had my song chosen for several years now.
And hopefully I'm not close to death.
But one never knows, and one must be prepared. The song that I chose years ago is
Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding.
It seems like a good thing to do when you're dead.
Just relax and listen to those waves. The ships roll in, and then I watch them roll away again, yeah
I'm sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the tide roll away
Ooh, I'm just sitting on the dock of the bay, wasting time Wasting time
I left my home in Georgia
Heading for the Frisco Bay
Cause I've had nothing to live for
It look like nothing's gonna come my way
So I'm just gonna sit on a dock of a bay
Watching the tide roll away
I'm sitting on a dock of a bay
Wasting time
Look like nothing's gonna change Everything still remains the same I can't do what ten people tell me to do So I guess I'll remain the same, yes Sitting here, resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
Listen, two thousand miles I roam
Just to make this dark my home
Now I'm just gonna sit at the dark of the bay
Watching the tide roll away Ooh, sitting on the dock of a bay
Wasting time Hey Toronto, Mike FOTM Garnet Barnes-Dill here.
My funeral gem would absolutely have to be the Buffalo Bills shout song.
I am a die-hard Bills fan, way more than any other sports team in existence at this point.
You know, a lot of my life has been spent going to and from Bills games, both at home and
away and just spending time consuming content about the team.
I just love everything about the Bills except for the fact that they
haven't won a Super Bowl. So hopefully by that time they'll have won one by the time I'm being put in the ground
and we can play this song and celebrate. And the other thing is I've told my family
they need to bury me in my Josh Allen jersey or I'm gonna come back to hunt them. The bills make me wanna shout!
Kick your heels up and shout!
Throw your hands up and shout!
Throw your head back and shout!
Come on now, the bills are making it happen now.
Stand up now, come on and shout!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Say you will!
Shout it right now, baby!
Say you will!
Come on, come on! Say you will! Come on and shout baby Say you will Come on, come on Say you will
Come on and shout
Say you will
Yeah, yeah
Jump!
Buffalo's happening now
Jump!
We're on the moon now
Jump!
The pills are happening now
Jump!
They're making it happen now
Jump!
We've got the spirit
Jump!
A lot of spirit, yeah
Jump!
We've got the spirit
Jump!
Just watch it happen now
Hey, hey, hey Get in now. Going Home by Corey Hart because it goes a little bit like this it says they can
never take what's in your soul and they can never break what keeps you whole
when the rain comes down something like that and I want the people to know that
Cory Hart he inspired my book called You Matter Change the Face of Mental Illness I wrote it I
dedicated it to Cory and uh yeah everyone knows that and when I die and I'm going home
I'll be grateful to thank Cory for his life on earth. Peace! Yeah, yeah, yeah
And they may criticize the way you are
And they patronize the dreams you keep so far aside
I will go to where I feel the light
I'm going home
I'm going home now
I'm going home
I cry
I'm going home now Can you count the days that have left you dry? You found the way, so ask yourself why you carry on
And you can justify all you do But when you look around and find you're alone
Tell me, where can you turn to?
I will go to where I feel the light
I'm going home, I'm going home now
Yeah, I said I'm going home, I cried
I'm going home now, home now
For the memories will keep me strong
Cause you can never forget who well you still belong
For the times I lost when I look around
I know I'll always be heading northward bound, yeah
I'm going home
I see
I'm going home now, oh no
Here we go Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na I'm going home, going home

I can never take what's in my soul
Crime can never break what keeps you whole
Oh no, I want to go home Hello Toronto Mike, Brian from Western New York.
When my story is over, the song will be heard.
The Sundays. Here's where the story ends. The places I go make me feel time-tired
I can see how people look down where I'm not inside
Here's where the story ends
And the story ends
People are saying, weary of me
Sharing my good side
I can see how people look down
I'm on the outside
Here, where the story ends I hate when the story ends
It's that little souvenir of a terrible year which makes my eyes feel sore
Oh, I never said it's sad, the notes that you read are all I love you for
It's that little souvenir of a terrible year which makes me wonder why
The list of memories is shined, that make me turn red
So far, so far, so far
Lazy I know, places I go, make me feel so tired
I can see how, people look down, I'm on the outside
It's where the story ends
Where the story ends
Oh, here's
Where the story ends
It's that little souvenir Of a terrible year
Which makes my eyes feel sore
And whoever would've thought
You'd know she was
All I ever thought
Oh, the devil in me sat
Go down to the shed
I knew we were all living long
But the only thing I ever really wanted to say was wrong, was wrong, was wrong
It's that little souvenir of a colorful year
Which makes me smile inside
So I cynically, cynically say A cynical insight The world is that way Surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise
Here's where the story ends
The story ends
In two years
You let the story end
Yo, T.M.Dot
It's Pete It was nice to meet you this past Sunday
At Christie Pitts Even though the Leafs lost,
but they did win last night against the Berry Bay Cats.
It was a good game.
This is my funeral jam I'd like to have played at my celebration of life.
Not only does it work as a funeral jam, it's also the perfect song to crack a cold GLB and enjoy the lake whether
you're up north at the cottage or enjoying one of the many spots here
along Lake Ontario in the city. This is just one of my favorite songs in general.
Enjoy! The End I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie I'm not gonna lie The End I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not alone I'm not alone
I'm not alone
I'm sorry. It's been such a long time I think I should be going, yeah Yeah, the time doesn't wait for me
It keeps on rolling
So long, on a distant highway
Yeah, I've got to keep on chasing a dream
I've gotta be your power
Please tell me something I can say
Well I'm taking my time
I'm just moving on
You'll forget about me after I've been gone
And I'll take what I find
I don't want no more
It's just outside of your front door
Oh yeah
It's been such a long time
It's been such a long time It's been such a long time
Well, I get so lonely
When I am without you
But in my mind, deep in my mind, I can't forget about you
Good times, it places everybody Some places that remind me, yeah
I'm trying to forget your name And leave it all behind me
You're coming back to find me
Well, I'm taking my time, I'm just moving on Don't forget about me after I've been gone And I take what I find
I don't mind no more, it's just outside of your front door Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
It's been such a long time
It's been such a long time I'm gonna be a man, I'm gonna be a man Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, It's been such a long time I think I should be going, yeah
But time doesn't wait for me The gates are rolling It keeps on burning
There's a long road I've got to stay in time with me
I've got to keep on chasing that dream
Though I may never find it
I'm always just standing here
Well I'm taking my time
I'm just moving on
Taking my time
I'm just moving on
Taking my time
I'm just taking my time Taking my time Hello, Tronco Mike.
One year ago in September, singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett sailed on from this planet.
His final album included a song, Bubbles Up, that really sounds to me like his farewell
message.
And it is inspiring, it's eloquent and I would
choose it to play at my memorial so I'll let the song speak for itself. The song
is Bubbles Up by Jimmy Buffett. We're just treading water each day
There's a way to feel better
Be well set to weather
The storms till the sun shines again
When your compass is spinning
And you're lost on the way
Like a leaf in the wind friend hear me when I say
bubbles up they will point you towards home, the plot and the purpose
So when the journey gets long
Just know that you are loved
There is light up above
And the joy is always enough, bubbles up
To my friends who are jealous when melancholy knocks, sometimes they let her in
To sit and share stories of flops and of glories
It ain't half as bad as the bins
Sometimes living's a struggle, multiply, double
But they love it too much for the party to end
Bubbles up, they will point you towards home. No matter how deep or how far you roam, they will show you the
surface, the plot and the purpose. So when the journey gets long, just know that you are loved
There's light up above
And joy, there's always enough
Bubbles up
Let's pop a cork
To the rough and the wright
To the bright blazing days and the sweet starry nights The bubbles up, they will point us towards home No matter how deep or how far we roam
They will show you the surface, the flood and the purpose
So when the journey gets long
Just know that you are loved, you are loved
There is light up above
And joy, there's always enough
Bubbles up
Bubbles up Hi TMU, this is JJ.
This is my submission for which song do you want played at your funeral.
I actually have a few pieces of my funeral already planned out.
And music, since I love music, is a big part of it.
And I had a tough time choosing, but I'm going with one of my all-time favorite funeral picks for me which is Night Shift by the
Commodores and I guess I won't be there but I'd also like them to play the video
at the same time because it's hilariously eaters but I just always I
love the lyrics and the idea that it presents and I just thought it even
though historically now
the the people they're singing about you know then they weren't in my
generation but I just I really love the song so yeah my submission is the Mother, he was a friend of mine And we could sing a song
His heart in every line
He opened up our minds And I still can hear him say So you can see what's going on Say you will sing your song forevermore
Gonna be some sweet time, some hunger
On the night shift
I bet you're singing cry
Oh, I bet you're full of cry
Gonna be a long night, it's gonna be alright
On the night shift
You found another home
I know you're not alone
On the night shift
You found another home
I know you're not alone
On the night shift
Jackie, Jackie, hey what you doing now? When we were working out
Jackie, whoa
You set the world on fire
You came and gifted us
Your love had lifted us
Higher and higher Keep it up and we'll be there at your side
Say you will sing your song forevermore, evermore, evermore
Gonna be some sweet sounds coming down on the night ship
I bet you'd sing it right, ooh I bet you would cry
Gonna be a long night on your ride on the night ship
You found another home, I know you're not alone on the night ship
Gonna be some sweet time coming down on the night ship I bet you're singing proud, I bet you're full of pride
Gonna be a long night, gonna be alright On the night shift On the night shift
You found another home
I know you're not alone
On the night shift
On this your sweet home
That's so full of noise
On the night shift
On the night shift The night shift
I'll remember you
Ooh, your songs are coming through
At the end of a long day
It's gonna be okay
On the night shift
The night shift
You found another world I know you're not alone Hey Mike, it's Mike from Subway Calling.
I want to add my song to the kick of the jam for the funeral or celebration of life.
Long time occasional listener, first time caller.
The one I would add would be one from my Spotify list that I've asked my kids to play during
the gathering. It's got all my favorite tunes in it plus a few oddballs just to
generate discussion. The one I think would be the weirdest would be circular
impression by the extras. Thanks Mike. One of the little, whatchamacallits I'm saving it for that special day
When the right girl comes my way It leaves a circular impression
From all those years of compression I've had it since I turned thirteen
I got an inovate machine
I can't wait to install it No, I can't wait
It's in a little tinfoil packet
Sometimes I'm tempted to unwrap it
It's got a reinforced border
I hope it's still in working order
Be prepared, they said in Boy Scouts
I'm waiting for a chance to try it out
I want to try this contraceptive
But all the girls are unreceptive
Cirque, Cirque, Circular Impression
Leading to a state of depression
In my Walla Walla Walla Walla Wallet I can't wait to install it No, I can't wait
I've got a French safe in my pocket It'll be the nose cone on my rocket
It comes direct from Paris, France Can't wait to take it from my pants. Cirque,
Cirque, Circular Impression. Leading to the state of
depression. In my wallow, wallow, wallow, wallow wallet. I
can't wait to install it. No, I can't wait. F-O-T-. Rob Del Mundo here.
What song would I want played at my funeral?
You know what, I'll go with Lightning Crashes by Live.
That signature song off the Throwing Copper album, 94 I think it was.
Just such an incredible song with the theme of the circle of life.
A new mother cries, an old mother dies, off really low-key then builds to this amazing crescendo gotta
be in my top five songs from the 90s for sure oh and it's really easier to play
on guitar any amateur aspiring guitarists if you know basic chords E B
and F sharp play that over and, you now know the song Lightning Crashes. You're welcome. hopeless center falls to the floor
the angel opens her eyes
the confusion sets in
before the dark looking of men closed the door
lightning crash and old mother dies Her intentions fall to the floor The angel closes her eyes
The confusion that I'm seeing
Belongs now
Take the baby down the hall
Open up feeling
Coming back again
Like a rolling thunder
Chasing the wind, forces pulling from
The center of the Earth I get, I can feel it
The name crashes, oh mother Christ This moment she's been waiting for The angel opens her eyes Pale blue colored eyes I can feel it I can feel it I can feel it I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it I can feel it girl All right
I can feel it coming back again
Like a ruling thunder chasing away
Two forces pouring from center to the other again
I can feel it
I can feel it coming back again
Like a rule
Love and better chasing the wind
Or spooling from the center of the earth again
I can feel it I can feel it I can feel it
I can feel it
Coming back again
Coming back again
Like a rebel to a redundant
Chasing the weak
The forces pulling from
The center of the dark
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it I can feel it.
I can feel it.
I can feel it.
Hi Mike, it's Leslie Billion here. I first have to say that this was probably
the most difficult topic to submit a song for.
Maybe it's my age and knowing that my friends, family,
and I are all in the last few decades of our lives,
or that we know people who are currently
battling life-threatening illnesses.
So it kind of hits close to home.
So having to consider my own funeral
was a very emotional task.
I wasn't sure if I could get through this without crying.
To this day, I still get teary when I hear Ave Maria, which our neighbor
sang at my dad's funeral almost 47 years ago.
OK, enough of the heavy stuff for now.
This topic makes me think of one of my favorite movies, Love Actually,
where Liam Neeson's wife chose Bye Bye Baby by the Bay City Rollers.
It's her funeral song, which caused a few smiles, a bit of laughter actually, where Liam Neeson's wife chose Bye Bye Baby by the Bay City Rollers as
her funeral song, which caused a few smiles, a bit of laughter, and a few like
curious confused faces. But that made me think like do I want to pick a song that
will make the attendees smile, laugh, cry? Do I want to provide comfort, something
for them to remember me by? It's like also like such a heavy heavy choice to make
Anyway, so with all of that said I decided to choose a song by an artist that most people in my life will know
Was one of my favorites and who sang a song of hope when things go wrong
So with that I give give you Never Surrender by Corey Hart. You're lost and all
Just a little uncertainty can bring it down
Nobody wants to know you now
Nobody wants to show you how So if you're lost and on your own
You can never surrender
And if your path won't lead you home
You can never surrender
And when the night is cold and dark You can see, you can get things done
The shadowblind adherence that has conquered some
And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how soft your love's been torn You're all you can ever surrender
And if your path won't lead you home
You can never surrender And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
Cause no one can take away
Your right to fight and
To never surrender
To never surrender To never surrender And when the night is cold and dark You can see, you can't see, you can't see light
And no one can take away your right to fight
To never surrender, to never surrender
Your dying soul will rest're asking for So never surrender
You can never surrender
The time is all you're asking for
Who's found your ground Never surrender
I said you never surrender Hi Mike, the song I want played at my celebration of life is When I Go Away by Levon Helm.
I love the upbeat tone of the song with lines like I don't want no crying only tears of
joy and I'm gonna see my mother, gonna see my father.
And the sun's gonna shine through the shadows when I go away.
It's just generally a great song with a catchy, uplifting vibe.
And I love the background gospel style chorus.
Also love your podcast.
Cheers. When the church bells toll The choir's gonna sing and the hearse will roll
Down to the graveyard where it's cold and gray
And then the sun's gonna shine through the shadows when I go away
Don't want no sorrow for this old orphan boy
I don't want no crying, only tears of joy I'm gonna see my father
I'm gonna see my father
And I'll be bound for glory in the morning
When I go away
I'll be lifted up through the clouds
On the wings of an angel
There's only fishing bones in the ground where my troubles will stay
See that storm over yonder, it's gonna rain all day
But then the sun's gonna shine through the shadows when I go away
I'm going home, no more trouble
I'm going home, no more crying
I'm going home, no more trying
I'm going home to leave my worries in the graveyard
I'm going home, no more troubles
I'm going home, no more crying
I'm going home, no more trials
I'm going home to leave my worries in the graveyard
Home to leave my worries in the graveyard Home to leave my troubles in the graveyard
Home to leave my trials And I'll be down for glory in the morning
When I go away
All my kin who love me All my kin who love me, all my friends who care
Look beyond the dark clouds, we're gonna meet up there
When they lay me in the cold ground bow your heads and pray
And I'll be bound with glory in the morning when I go away
And then the sun's gonna shine through the shadows when I go away
I'm going home, no more trouble, no more crying
No more trial, I'm going home to leave my worries
I'm going home, no more crying, no more triumph
Home to leave my worries in the graveyard, home to leave my troubles in the graveyard, home to leave my trials
And I'll be bound for glory in the morning when I go away And the sun's gonna shine through the shadows when I go away
When I go away
When I go away
When I go away
When I go away
When I go away When I go away When I go away
When I go away
Hey, John and Mike and fellow FOTM, Byways Ecord here.
Seems a little early in life to be thinking of funeral jams,
but one never knows, and that's part of the inspiration behind
my choice of One Day in Your Life by 5440. I've certainly
tried to live every day of my life to its fullest and making the most of it because
one never knows when it's your last. Here's 5440 and One Day in your life shouldn't be a problem One day in your life should cause you pain
Because it's one day that you might never be around here
And I'll never ever see you again
One day in your life you don't have to worry
One day in your life you don't have to cry
Because it's one day that you might never be around here
And I'll never ever see you alive
One day
One day I'm here
One day in your life you feel something in you
One day in your life your heart will free of your fear
Because it's one day that you might never be around here
And I'll never ever see you alive
One day
One day
Go back, there's nothing that can help about that.
Go back, the only one talking talks back.
Goes back inside, inside, inside. Oh I'm late, I'm late
I'm late, I'm late Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, Toronto Mike, it's Andrew Ward here.
My best funeral jam is one that allows for a moment of reflection after you hear it.
When Gabriel Fore wrote his Requiem, he said that it was dominated from beginning to end
by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.
Here is the Requiem's fourth movement, the Pia Jesu, which in a word, is sublime.
Enjoy. the Lord. Thanks be to God. I'm going to be a good boy. I'm going to be a good boy. I'm going to be a good boy.
I'm going to be a good boy.
I'm going to be a good boy.
I'm going to be a good boy.
I'm going to be a good boy.

Hello Toronto Miked, it's your second favorite handsome bearded man Beats. Yep, I'm back.
I'm here to let you know the song I would want played at my celebration of life and it's from my all time favorite band in the whole world.
It's ACDC, Highway to Hell.
["Highway to Hell"]
Season take a long way right Asking nothing, leave me be
Take your everyday in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I'd rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too
I'm on the highway to hell
On the highway to hell
Highway to hell
On the highway to hell I'm a highway to hell
No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me around
Hey station
Hey my Jews
Hey I'm at a rocking band
Hey mama
Look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land
I'm on the highway to hell
Highway to hell
I'm on the highway to hell
Highway to hell
Don't stop me
I'm going highway to hell On the highway to hell
I'm on the highway to hell
On the highway to hell
On the highway to hell
On the highway to hell I'm going down, down the way
I'm going down, down the way
I'm going down, down the way
I'm going down, down the way
And I'm going down The song I want played at my funeral is Outro by M83. Over a highway ahead
The song I want played at my funeral is Outro by M83.
The minimal lyrics reflect the ideal of how I would have liked to have lived and how I hope to leave. I am in control of how I deal with my own tempest of dust, how one can face their fears, dance with them, become their king.
The song is mostly instrumental, though,
and what isn't said with words is what leaves the biggest impression. The slow enigmatic
build, the soaring crescendo that sends chills down my spine, and then the quiet, delicate
exit. In the end, it's over far too soon. And of course the title is perfectly apt,
so there's that too. I'm the king of my own world
I'm the king of my homeland The facing tempest and dust I'll find it till the end
Creatures of my dreams raise up and dance with me
Now and forever I will care So I'm gonna be the one to make you feel better I'm gonna be the one to make you feel better
I'm gonna be the one to make you feel better
I'm gonna be the one to make you feel better
I'm gonna be there Hey Mike, my name is Sean Martins and I'm just responding to your short cast on August
6th, Saturday Morning Die, talking about what our third funeral jam would be.
And I don't know if you can hear what I have in the background. It would be Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. And that just goes back to an old friend of
mine's father who passed away pretty young and he introduced me to Pink Floyd and even
his funeral song was comfortably numb as they lowered the casket. And just going back to their lyrics and the message they were putting across,
I can just remember him playing this music for me.
So I'd like to be remembered in a positive way as well.
And just thinking, wish you were here, I think of my father who's passed as well and anyone else that had a special bond with
or just these memories. So really, Wishing You Were Here literally states what I'd like
people to think of and remember me by. So thanks Mike. So, so you think you can tell Heaven from hell Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to train? You're heroes for ghosts
Heartaches for trees
Hot airs and a cool breeze
Cold comfort for change
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the walk
For a lego in a cage? I'm gonna be a man, I'm gonna be a man
I'm gonna be a man, I'm gonna be a man
I'm gonna be a man, I'm gonna be a man
How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl Fish phone year after year Running over the same old ground
And have we found the same old fears
Wish you were here So
Do I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, Ricky A here, The Elevator Man.
And for my song, it's a song that was produced by Alan Parsons and it did not chart in Canada as
far as I know. When I think about this song, Mel's Rock Pile from SCTV comes to mind
when they did MacArthur Park because the song goes from slow to fast, slow to fast, so it makes me
laugh. And the lead singer in this song, if you ever watch the video,
he transitions from piano to guitar and back to piano.
It's pretty impressive.
And when I think back about music in my life and the passion that people have with music,
I think about concerts I've been to, I think about albums I've bought,
there's so many good memories I have attributed to, I think about albums I've bought. There's so many good memories I have attributed
to music. So for my funeral song, it was a no brainer, it's John Mills and music. And it will be my last
Music of the future
And music of the past
To live without my music
Would be impossible to do
In this world of troubles
my music brings me through I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna be a star
I'm gonna be a star, I'm gonna little bit of a I'm a little bit of a I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a
I'm a little bit of a I'm a little bit of a The Music was my first love and it will be my last
Music of the future, the music of the past
The music of the past
The music of the past I'm sorry. The End The I'm going to try to get a little bit of a better angle. The Music was my first love And it will be my last
Music of the future
Music of the past
Deliver the fair music My music will be a fast world to move
As all this world and troubles
My music pulls me through Mike, I've given this a lot of thought, a lot of serious thought.
When my time comes, and I'm being lowered into the ground,
there's only one song that should be played on my behalf.
And that song is, Lick It Up by Kiss.
Thank you, Mike. Don't wanna wait till you know it better
Let's just be good for the time together
Stop such a dream anytime you taste it
There ain't no reason or love to waste it Where you stand
There ain't no reason or hope to waste it It ain't a crime to be guilty of sin
Lift it up, lift it up
It's all alright now
Lift it up, lift it up
Right now! Lift it up!
Lift it up!

I wanna die with the Radio On, cause when you're gone, the music goes on. That's it.
Lee Aaron, Radio On. Because when you're gone, the gotta feed the fire inside of your soul
Times on low and sad matters, we'll enjoy the ride cause one fine day we all gotta go
If you gotta go baby don't go alone, I wanna die with the radio on Bye bye so long, send me off with a song
I wanna dive with the radio
Dive with the radio on
Don't know what we started, but man we got it started
Now I'm sticking it out old school with you
But when I'm headed home, all they like are rolling stone
Cause baby, we're just all passing through
You gotta dance, you gotta sing
You gotta find the joy inside everything
Crank it up in the car
Be exactly who you are
Cause everyone's a rock and roll star
If you gotta go baby don't go alone
I wanna die with the radio on
Bye bye so long send me off with a song
I wanna die with the radio on
If you gotta go, baby, go on strong
I wanna die with the radio on
Cause when you're gone, gone, the music lives on
I wanna die with the radio
Die with the radio, die with the radio on
All you and me were climbing to the top of that mountain Top of that mountain
Take me up so high, high, high, high
I wanna die with the radio, die with the radio on
You gotta dance, you gotta sing, you gotta find the joy inside everything
Crank it up in the car, be exactly who you are, cause everyone's a rock and roll star.
If you gotta go baby, don't go alone. I wanna die with the radio on.
Bye bye so long, send me off with a song. I wanna die with the radio on If you gotta go, baby, go out strong
I wanna die with the radio on
Cause when you're gone, all the music lives on
I wanna die with the radio, die with the radio on there. I like the Waking Ned Divine soundtrack version by Sean Davy and I
would choose that or I am choosing that simply because it is gonna say everything
I need to say I think. So So So So I'm going to be a good boy. I spent it in good company And all the harm I had
The money that Eire had I spent it in good company And all the harm I've ever done Alas, it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass, good night and joy be to you all Music Fill to me the parting glass, and drink and help for there he falls.
Then gently rise and softly fall, good night and joy be to you all. Of all the comrades that ere I had, they're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that ere I had, they'd wish me one more day to stay Since it fell into my lot, that I should ride and you should not.
I gently ride and you should not.
I gently rise and softly fall, Good night and joy be to you all. So fill to me the parting glass, And drink our health, whatever befalls,
Then gently rise and softly howl, Good night and joy be to you all. Lord
