Starting point is 00:00:00 Alan, kick it. Two weeks ago when we did the film Beetlejuice, you said that it was your favorite movie with Calypso music. You said that it was your favorite movie with Calypso music. You want to take a look at that again? You want to come back around on that? The island theme in this movie makes me think of a level of crash bandicoot if you remember that game. I do, but I never really played it.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Bum. Bum. Bum. Bum. And that's all it is for 20 minutes. Yeah, so I just wanted to check in with you and see where you were with your horror movies with Calypso. It's true. It's true. Oh, it's gonna be a tight squeeze to see if this one squeaks out. Beetlejuice or not.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Yeah, well, we'll find out at the end of the episode. What are we talking about, if I may, zombie two, San Aguilla, the Island of the Living Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters, zombie, zombie, the dead walk among us, glee, ultimo zombie, zombie, the dead among us, and nightmare island. Why? Why? Why? Because you can't contain this amount of genius with one movie name. Oh man. All right, this is some weird Italian shit. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
Starting point is 00:01:25 Why, This is some weird Italian shit. It's called Zambi too, because Day of the Dead was recut and released in Italy by Dario Argento as zombie. It was? It was? It was. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Romero wrote Day of the Dead in, or sorry, Don of the Dead, wrote Don of the Dead, wrote Don of the Dead in Italy. That doesn't make them have the rights to it. Well, Argento like brought him over and put him up because he was like king of the world then. Yeah. And so then he did his own cut. Oh my god. I own that as well, if you ever want to experience that. I have a box set that has like three or four cuts of just Don of the Dead on it. My God. Yeah. In Italy, there's no like copyright to names or there wasn't at the time.
Starting point is 00:02:14 So like the fact that it came out of zombie, this other production company was just like, well, I want to cash it on that. So this is a zombie too. That is a fucking but-hole banana. A movie that had been written a few years before zombie came out. Really? And there has nothing to do with that movie. Except that they have zombies. Yeah. That aren't even like of the same zombie family. They're of a oatmealy-faced something. I mean they look great. Yeah. they look as phenomenal. So the guy who did the special effects on this movie is...
Starting point is 00:02:50 Gignettie de Rossi did the special effects on this movie. You showed great restraint with that name. I feel like that's more of your... Denny the Rossi. He also did the special effects in a movie that you loved as much as I did. Living Dead of the Manchester Morg, aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie. Did I like that movie? I don't think so. I think we were both pretty ambivalent about it. They were oatmealy though, weren't they? A little bit, yeah, yeah. And he also did the special effects of the movie High Tension.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Holteson. Which I will never see is what I've been told. The longer we do this, the more I'm like, maybe we could do that. Marters is like, I feel like it's permanently off the table, but I feel like high tension maybe. It's just super gory. Yeah. Well, that's still, I've seen this movie a hundred times and still gross me out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of cool skin grabbing in this movie, which I like a lot. That like skin, like, just showing flappy skin? I like that a lot because, do you remember when you were a kid and you'd fall. think, th'd like brace yourself to look at it to see if the skin was flapping? Oh yeah, yeah. And your stomach would like turn over when it was? That's how I feel about this. That's how I feel about this.
Starting point is 00:04:12 It's like that. It's like that a lot. And then I got to that age where I just cut the flapped the fap the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the fappy the flapping the flapping the flapping the flapping to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the to the the the the to to the the to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the tho the thi thi thi thi thi thi.. thi. tooooa. to. to. to. to. tha. tha. too. too. too. too. to, dummy. I didn't mean to call you a dummy. I just called you a dummy at the end of the last episode, too. I don't think you're a dummy. I know you don't. That's why it's I laughed at it. But that's a dumb move, though. Oh sure.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Why don't you just put a bandit on it. So I just cut it off. Oh, fucking Christ. Yeah. I'm, I'm an idiot sometimes. We're all idiots sometimes. Like when you said this was a movie. Just kidding. Just kidding. As I was saying in the in-between space between recording the last episode and this one, I could have been wearing my zombie t-shirt, got my DVDs, my CD soundtrack to it.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Like, I love this movie. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was your former email address not Dr. Menard at Yahoo.com? It's still my Facebook, if anybody wants to find me. My blog that I had for years was, tell the crew, the boat can leave now, which is the opening line to this movie. Which doesn't make any sense when it happens. Did you say that to the dead man? Why do they show, why is that the cold open of this film, do you think? Oh man, there's a lot of questions you could be asking. Yes. I think it's supposed to set it up that like, when the boat arrives in Manhattan Harbor,
Starting point is 00:05:42 whatever the fuck that is. Do you feel weird seeing the Twin Towers on movies? I do. I think I watch enough like 70s movies that it doesn't bother me too much. Makes me feel weird. Yeah, I mean, it's every time it's a bummer. But like, not a bummer. I just feel like, oh, I'm what's going to happen to you, like, you know?
Starting point is 00:06:05 Yeah. Yeah. Like looking at a young Michael Jackson. Oh, I love Jackson 5 and I have a hard time listening to them because I'm just like, I know what's going to fucking happen to you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yeah. That said the baseline. And I want you back as the greatest thing ever written, so whatever. I'm sorry, so yes, Manhattan Harbor. Speaking of baselines, at the opening of this movie, after he sells tell the crew the boat can leave now, and then, mom, I fucking get so pumped when that like, base riff starts. So yeah, I think that's just to set up to like,
Starting point is 00:06:42 I think if the cold open were boat in the harbor, it would be weird. I'm sure it's not called Manhattan Harbor. I'm sure it's got some other name. It's where the Statue of Liberty is. You guys know, where Jason goes in that one movie? You know where Jason goes on, no one Friday or terrible fucking movie.
Starting point is 00:07:07 From Vancouver, New Jersey. The mountains are gorgeous. So I think if we just started off on that boat, everyone, you'd be like, what? Clean up your boat, Slabo, that's what you'd say. What are these policemen from Italy doing? Oh, fantastic New York accents. So it was reading on IMDB that someone was saying that the cops were off-duty New York police officer.
Starting point is 00:07:28 So I was like, fuck you. They are not. They are not. Skip out of the crap must be a real turkey. And his mouth says, man, man, ma'am. I mean, why do they need to fix the sale? Why does the one cop need a bullhorn to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the the the to talk the to talk the the the the the the the the the the the to talk. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their.oomf.oomf. the their. their. their. tool. tool. tool. tool. tool. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. te. too. t. t. the. the sale? Why does the one cop need a bullhorn to talk to the guy who's right below him? Because it's far away, dude. When he starts talking to the bullhorn and it's the words are coming out long before his
Starting point is 00:07:54 mouth starts moving. When we see Fulchie later on and he's the editor of the newspaper. Oh, that was Fulchie That's Fulch. Oh, geez. Keep the British out of your pros. Fucking dick. But when he's saying that, he's just going, gna, gna. Yeah. He looks like a shitty nutcracker trying to talk to you. It's just a jawdown job situation.
Starting point is 00:08:20 No other movement. And I should say early on, like, I love Fulchee movies. I have this like weird thing where I just fucking love Fulchene movies. I adore them. He was a bad dude. Oh yeah. And every time I've been to like some horror convention where one of the women that were on set, he was just shitty to them.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Yeah. Just like, I don't think he liked people. Okay. And then I don't know that he thought women were people. Aye. So it's like this doubling down. I think, I think Tissa Faro has some like shit about him being real shitty to her too. And like, yeah, there's just, because I saw a panel for this movie at Cinema Wasteland a few years ago, where I was in the same room with Richard Johnson who plays Dr. Menard. I was very excited. Did you tell him about your email address?
Starting point is 00:09:08 I did not. I was going to go up and talk to him, and then I do what I do every time I see a famous person I don't want to bother. He's not really don't need to be reminded what was the other Fulchie movie that we did we also did the beyond which one was that said the house in New Orleans okay just making sure why he always doing Americans just make it an Italy sir because there was there was such a market for Italian movies in America. Why? They're all so bad.
Starting point is 00:09:50 But I, uh, what? Here, you don't remember this guy. No. That's Richard Johnson. I don't. I mean, I recognize him as Dr. Maynard. Yeah, he played the Liam Neeson character from the haunting. Okay. Liam Neeson? Yeah, they remitted the haunting. Wait, the one with Joe Lies when he couldn't. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Wasn't Owen Wilson in that too? Yeah, he gets killed on the giant fireplice. I don't remember Liam Neeson being in that movie. Holy shit.
Starting point is 00:10:29 How many Liam Neeson movies have we fucking done? At least two. Yeah, Catherine Zeta Jones? Yeah, I remember. I don't remember him. I'm not going to check, but I'm 98% sure was leaving some of that movie. Better than with this as strongly as you're insisting that it was. My God. See, I just wanted to get out of the way.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Fulcie, not a good dude, especially to women. Okay. But that's it. I just don't fucking love his movies. That's fair. You have to separate the person from the art sometimes. I think acknowledging the garbage. Yeah. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tha. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. th. It's. th. It's. th. It and discussing it analyzing. So, this fucking movie. Okay, so this boat just floats into the harbor. Why is that so funny to you?
Starting point is 00:11:15 He's like, you're giggling. You're just giggling. This movie makes me so happy. Okay, I can see that. You're giddy right now. I saw this movie in a theater full of people in New Jersey, and when a scene that's going to come on later, like people stood up and applauded like someone did a good sex solo at New Badge for a man who'd been dead for years at this point. Wow. Yeah, so the boat comes into the harbor. The cops go on board because it's derelict. And then this big tour-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-a-o-a-c-s, thu-s. th-a-a-a-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-s, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th-a-a-s, th. th-s, th-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s. thininuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. th-s-a-s'-s'-a-s'-s'-s'-a-s'-a-a-s. thin comes into the harbor. The cops go on board because it's derelict. And then this big Tor Johnson looking mothfucker zombie comes out and eats their goddamn necks. Yeah, he's great. Terrifying. Where does he go?
Starting point is 00:11:55 Oh, so. Is that the end of the movie? Is that how he got there? Yeah, so the thing is that he went and infected people in New York City and that's why all of allthe shit's gone bonkers. Okay. There is a promotional poster for this movie of him walking out of the water. So there was a scene that was cut of him coming out of the water. Too bad they should have left that in but I guess it's supposed to be a surprise at the end. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Literally like every bit of the plot is just a zombie movie. It's just telegraph from the get-go. Yeah, that wasn't what he then what he was trying to do here. He was trying to have a lot of blood. Yeah and a scuba diver and a g-strive. Somebody. Somebody and a an. Somebody and a an. Somebody and a th and a th and a th. Somebody and a thine. Somebody and a thine. Somebody and a scuba and a scuba and a scuba and a scuba and a thia. Somebody and a scuba and a s-a. Somebody and a scuba and a scuba and a scu-s. Somebody and a scuba d-s. Yeah. Somebody and a scu, somebody and a scu, so. Yeah, so. Yeah, yeah, and a th. Yeah, and a to. Yeah, and a to. Yeah, and a to. Yeah, and a th. Yeah, and a th. Yeah, and a th. Yeah, and a th. Yeah, and a th. Yeah, and a th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And a scu, and a scu, and a scu, and a scu, and a scu, and a scu. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And a sco. And a sco. And a sco. And a sco. And a g-string. Somebody should have packed that woman a bathing suit like she was blind Keomey. It was real hot underneath the water. Yeah, well. So it turns out that this is Anne Bowles father. It's his ship. His boat, yeah. And so she
Starting point is 00:13:00 wants to know what happened to him. And wait, it floated into New York from... From the Antilles? I don't think that can happen. Sure, you can get the jet stream. The currents aren't going to do that, though. I mean, I just don't, okay, that's fine. I don't know. I don't know anything. I'm not a sailor. Maybe they say.
Starting point is 00:13:28 I thought that was, I've got soul. But, ah, so, um. But as we learn, her father is who's being shot at the beginning of the movie. Right. We find that out so much later that I was like, oh, that guy. Yeah. He has a very flappy eye thing that happens to him. Sure. Yeah, that's all. Oh, she's played by Tissa Farrow, who is me a fero's sister. Ah, the lesser pharaoh. Yes. Who was an actor for 10 years and then became a nurse? That's great. And has been a nurse for years. It's a great, it's a good living. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very. It's a very very very very. It's a very very very. It's a very. that's a very. that's a very. that's a very that. that. that's a very. that's a very. then became a nurse. That's great. Yeah. And has been a nurse for years. It's a great, it's a good living.
Starting point is 00:14:07 It's a hard living. I think so. It's a very valuable and underappreciated job. I like how the people in the harbor who were like rubbernecking, trying to see what was going on, were all like tall, beautiful dark-haired women in, that's what New York City was full of Vecke then. Certainly. And then the cops are treating, what is her name, to Sephir? Anne? Anne? They're treating Anne like she's a suspect for some reason? She's like, oh my god, it's my father's boat. He's missing what's happening, what's going on? And they're like, well what do you know about it? Like why? you th you th you to you to you to you to you to you to you to you to you to you to you to you to you to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to know to know to know to know to know to know to know to know to know to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the? their the? their tho? to to to to to to Is that a commentary on how the police feel about women?
Starting point is 00:14:46 Or how faulty feels about women? Fair. Or both. And so then the coroner is doing an autopsy on someone, someone who's dead on someone, who's dead, the cop. Yeah, yeah. And he says, well, let's get it over with, which I genuinely hope someone says over my dead body. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:05 And who was his assistant who did everything wrong? The African American gentleman. No, like, is he in training or? No, I thought you were just saying that Fulchie's an asshole and made this guy look, that's also a possibility. Very bumbling. He also like sometimes doesn't have words he just shakes his head no like my like my toddler just sadly shaking his head no. And then we see the hand of the man on the autopsy table move. Right and then jump cut to. I forgot
Starting point is 00:15:35 about that until you just said it so that's good. Jump cut to the the the newsroom where Fultie's sending Ian McCullough, aka Peter West. AKA one of the only people whose mouth is doing what it's supposed to be doing in this movie. Oh man. He's like go get on this boat beat and see what's going on. Yeah, well he's the boat beat reporter and he hears about this and suddenly they can afford like to send him to the Antilles and he hears about this and suddenly they can afford to send him to the Antilles to find out what's going on. But seemingly only to the Antilles and that once there he's going to figure out. There's no way he's getting back.
Starting point is 00:16:12 No, no. And he's like sniffing Anne's hair and like being super unreasonable. He's like, immediately. And so kind of is she? Yeah, it was the 70s. It was a freer time back. So, so they get caught on the boat by a cop who's guarding it. On the morning lady too. Is that what it was called? Lame. Who, also do you think that that's a joke about this being zombie too?
Starting point is 00:16:38 Because who the boat to like get down and dirty. To neck. It is a crime scene. You would think this cop would detain them. Get their prints to make sure that like, I mean like they're going to do some investigating of this crime scene, right? He's like, nah, get out of here. Like, no, no. Earlier, this boat was literally filled with maggots. Yeah. And fulchie worms that go.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Haa, blah, blah. I'm not sure he's seen a worm. We have to do city of the living dead at some point. No, we don't have to do anything. It takes place in, it's supposed to be, is it Dunwich? I don't know, it's shot in North Carolina and there's one scene where like they're outside and there's monkeys howling. It's just like you don't get outside at all, dog.
Starting point is 00:17:35 This is great. No, no, oh my god. What an amazing dummy. Oh God, I love him so much. But now, but now, speaking of love, they're really like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, their they're like, their they're like, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they're, their, their, their, tho, thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi, thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi. the. thea, thea, ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta, ta, ta, tha, t him so much. But now, but now, speaking of love, they're really in love, the two of them. Oh yeah, they're just like, they're like, we're the only people speaking English here. Let's just love. Yeah, let's go find Richard Johnson to be a third. So they get to...
Starting point is 00:17:58 They go to the Antilles and that's where we get the sweet Crash Bandicoot theme. Can you sing it again? Oh, ma'am, mo, da, da, ta, ta, ta, tah, tah, tah, tah, I love Fabrio Frizzi's soundtracks are so great. Is that the only song in this movie? No, it's just, Oh, right. Oh, and there's like one or two other themes. I mean I have the soundtrack and it's like four tracks long. I was gonna say. And then there's all these remixes. No, it's so bad. Oh man. I do
Starting point is 00:18:30 have a note that says the score sounds like the Monkey Island soundtrack but bad. It's like a it's like goblin if you didn't have the rest of the goblins with you. Right if you were just a solo goblin. So okay, so we meet Dr. Menard and his wife, his lady wife. Can I tell you some fun facts about Mrs. Menard? Sure. She's played by Olga Carlatos. Uh-huh. What movie was she also in? My big fat Greek wedding. Purple rain. No. She played Prince's mother. Wow. Wow. Yeah Timing of that seems wrong. When it was Purple Rain? 85? Okay, later than I thought. Yeah. Sometime around then. All right. And she also later on in life in 2010 got her law degree. Wow. And I was like, oh, this woman just became my legit hero.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Yeah. She's in this movie. She this woman just became my legit hero. Yeah. She's in this movie. She's in Purple Rain. And she's a lawyer. You love lawyers. A huge fan of the law. Your Honor. I'm just lying. I'm just lying. But I was like reading. I like whenever you think about the law. you seem to think about my cousin Vinny. Is there any other law movie? No. John Grisham's like, hey, I made a bunch. I thought you haven't seen the client.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Scott Brad Renfro. Who? He's dead, doesn't matter. Are there any yutes in it though? It's got Susan Sarandon. Is anybody's biological clock ticket like this? I really love my cousin Minnie. Everybody does, right? Yeah, I mean it's peak Fesci. Yeah, it's peak Marissa Tomey. Not peak. Not peak Machio though, he's already peaked. He was like 43 when he did this crowded kid movies. Anyway, so yes we meet Mrs. Menard and they're they have a great relationship. Oh they're so loving. He definitely slaps her across the face for talking to him. I'm unclear but he also says like the radio. He also says like the radio isn't working we're totally cut off from the outside world. I'm going to the hospital.
Starting point is 00:20:45 And I was like, how does the hospital not have a radio? Does that seem weird to you? Well, he was at the hospital on the radio. That's when he delivers one of my favorite lines from this movie. Wait. When he says, come in, Guadalupe. to like why the fuck didn't anybody get anything right in this movie okay so he there was another radio there was the one radio that he's trying to radio out and no one's picking up because that's not the same one that's in his house it's broken wasn't there one in his house no I don't know is that where they
Starting point is 00:21:19 were having and filming this opening scene with the opening scene our introduction to them yes yeah that's at the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the house the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. the one one one one one one one one one one one one one the the the the the the the the the the the the the opening scene that are our introduction to them. Yes, yeah, that's at the house. And he's saying the radio is broken, but I thought that was it just I thought it was at the hospital. Who fucking cares? My next note says a syringe full of tomato juice so like it doesn't fucking matter. Then I say that's some noisy blood. that's some noisy blood. the microscope at some stuff. I don't know what it is. And then he's like, let me put my blood on top this slide that I'm looking at. It's got two slides already. That's how you voodoo, Alan, that's how you voodoo. And the blood goes, bleu.
Starting point is 00:21:55 And there's already so much blood on the slide. It's squeezing out. It's terracing. It's, I. the. the. the. to. the. the. the. the. It's. the. It's. It's so. the the the the they. they. they. thi. thi. thi. thiol. tooom. tooom. tooom. tooom. thi. tooom. too. too. that's so. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's so. that's so. that's so. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. tooe. that's that's too. that's that's. too. It's squeezing out. It's tear. I don't understand any of it. Is he a science? I don't get it. Be scientific, a douchebag. Okay, so then we meet some other Americans. Susan and Brian, I think. Yeah. Susan is definitely an American. Her dubbing is the worst.
Starting point is 00:22:22 She's the worst at making mouths in this movie. Yeah, Al Cliver is pretty bad too though. Oh, Al Cliver? Is that the... That's Brian. Why? He looked like he should know how to speak? Yeah, at least some... Pretty sure he's Italian. Oh boy.
Starting point is 00:22:35 And Al Cliver is not a particularly ethnic name. Ah, it's probably not really his name. Anyway, she does some scuba diving in a literal G-string. But she puts a fucking like backpack tank on. Yeah, yeah, she's going to the waters and a bathing gap. What? Well, she is very curly hair. She does. She does. That shark smells boobs. It's like chum to that shark.
Starting point is 00:22:59 It's like chum to that shark. So apparently they fed that shark right before they filmed the scene. Yeah. And hit it up with tranquilizers? Yeah it looks dazed. I mean it's moving pretty slowly. But that's a legit tiger shark that will kill human beings. I mean I was watching this especially the scene where the zombie appears underwater and I was like, how the fuck did they do this? I mean it's clearly a shark and it's clearly real and it's clearly happening. Yeah. I wouldn't I can't imagine a situation in which I would agree to do that. So there was an actor that was like on the docket to play that zombie. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:23:37 yeah. The day he was supposed to shoot it, he didn't feel well. And I'm like I'm sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure I'm sure sure sure I'm sure sure sure I'm sure I'm sure sure I'm sure sure sure I'm sure he he was sure he was sure I'm sure he was sure he was just he he was just sure he was just he was just he he was just he was just he was just he was he he he he he he he was just he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he was just he was just he was just he was just he was just he was just he was just he was just he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he was sure he he he he he was sure he he he was sure sure sure sure he he was sure sure sure sure sure sure he was sure sure sure sure he was sure sure sure he was sure sure he was sure sure sure he was just sure sure he was just sure. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I'm sure he was just. I was just. I'm sure he was just. He was just. He was like I'm sure who was just like, yeah, no, never mind. He had definitely agreed to do that while drunk or on some sort of drugs and then the next day was like, oh, yeah. Like, no fucking way. So that's a shark trainer with a man in this. Yeah, that's in the costume. No one trains a shark, sirs. They're like cats. There's a reason you're not at SeaWorld watching the sharks jump out of the water. You know what I mean? Or cats? Or cats?
Starting point is 00:24:10 They don't breathe good underwater. No, they're not so good at it. You got to get a gilly cat? Oh my god, if cats could swim, they would probably take over. It's the only thing we only only only only only only only thing we th. thing we thing we thing we thing we thing we thing we thing we have only only only only thing we have only thing we have only thing we have only thing we have only thing we have only thing we have only thing we have only thing we have wea th. th. thi weat. th. that's that. that's only only only that's that's that's that's that's that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that that. that. that. that. the only that. the only that the only that the only that that the only that that that that the only that that that that that to admit that this is one of the greatest things you've ever seen your life. I mean it's a really beautiful scene of a shark dancing with a zombie man and I think the zombie might bite him. He does he? He does he? He takes a chunk out and starts eating it. Which is bananas? How many times does? How many times that zombie? Oh does he? Yeah it gets bit off? the the same? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah, it gets bit off and then he's punching the shark with it and then it gets bit off again. Fair. I mean you have to. No it's the same arm. Okay, fact. I mean we've you know faulty. What had done. Later when if it's like
Starting point is 00:24:59 two scenes later because we go to the hospital and then we go back to the house, Dr. Menard's house, and there's like somebody scratching at the window like while his wife is showering and I just thought, what if this was a shark and said it was a zombie scratching at the window? Like what if the movie just turned and the sharks came to land, you know? It's like the genesis of Shark Nato. Did you like when Mrs. Menard was taking the shower and someone had set mirrors up all around the bathroom so no matter where she was standing you could see her ass? Yes I do. I like that quite a bit. I'm sure Mrs. Maynard did too. Oh my god, the 70s are so weird. And then she's all wet and she puts on this like terrible caftan.
Starting point is 00:25:38 It's like, fuck me if I murder and something so unflattering, you know. I want to die in nice clothes. Here's something I want to throw out there. I've been thinking about fucking with caftans. I just, it's not for me. It just looks so comfortable. I don't find like very loose fitting clothing to be all that comfortable. I like to be held in. I like to be snug. I like a good pair of sweatpants with a good waist pants. I always think of sweatpants as being flowy. No, what? No, they, like, what you get elastic? Oh, at the waist, they're cinched up. Yeah, I don't want things that are just free flowing. You don't want to be able to put your arms out and the fabric is completely off of your
Starting point is 00:26:16 clothing. Yeah, I'd have to like change my personality a lot to start wearing captains. I think that might, I think that that might be very difficult for people around you to accept for you to go from black t-shirt jeans to. Caff tans. Black caftans. That's like a weird morning, I feel. Imagine the Robert Smith prints that I could get on a caftan. I mean, now it's just depressing.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Now it says I've given up on myself. And you have to. And you have to. You haven't interfered. All right, so it's my job to keep you out of caftans? I think everyone says. Okay. So we skipped over thethe hospital scene which I think had some exposition in it. Which one? I think it's where we learn about voodoo maybe I
Starting point is 00:27:12 don't know I zoned out every single hospital scene because I like just I was bored. Well the debtor coming back and he's trying to figure out why. But isn't he also didn't he do something to cause it? That was the impression I got from his argument with his wife. She's like, yeah, research. I thought it was just that he was trying to, he was just trying to stop it. It's the, that constant drumming that's happening on the island. Yeah, the voodoo that's making the dead come back. Why was she so mad at him th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. he's, he's, thi. thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thithe cause of it? Because he wouldn't take her off the island? Oh that's reasonable, yeah for sure. She should have it
Starting point is 00:27:46 has left. Yeah, why does, how are they gonna get off the island though? they didn't have a boat? Ah, it's the ocean. They're silly with boats out there. That's true. They do just float up in harbors. Well the boat the boat the boat the boat the boat the boat the boat the boat, the boat, the boat, the boat, the boat, the boat, the boat, the boat, th, th, th, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, they're they're tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho. thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. tho. tho, tho. th. th. drive shaft goes out of it? Both got a drive shalt. I've got sale. So that's why they stuck on the island. In that scene where she's being attacked by the zombie, she does not scream. She just like quietly fights the zombie. That seems unreasonable. She does this.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Yeah. Uh-uh. Let's get into this scene. So she puts a dresser in front of a door, in front of a door, and not to be that guy on IMDB, but she does it twice. Okay, good. Well, twice is better than once if you're keeping out zombies. It's a louvered door.
Starting point is 00:28:40 So the zombies just punched through the louvers. Yeah, I mean, it's interesting because movies have led me to believe that wood over windows or doors will keep zombies out, but not these zombies, they get right through them. Thin little balsa wood, yeah. But that fingers in the door scene is like exquisitely gross. Yeah. It's very good. It's super narsty. Yeah. So... at least close your eye, my God. This is the scene that got the standing, oh, when I saw it in the theater. I mean, because the zombie grabs her by the head and then slowly draws her in. What's the zombie doing here?
Starting point is 00:29:16 Slowly draws her in. She's resisting so much. And it's such a good fucking scene because you keep waiting for the camera to cut away and it doesn't. And then the piece of wood just goes into this fake ass eye. Yeah. And it's so good. It's really, I mean, my notes say, at least close your eye. My God.
Starting point is 00:29:35 My God, oh my God. Because then you see her face with the like the gnarled eye now. I mean, it's, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects, the effects. the effects. the effects. the effects. the effects. the effects. the effects. the effects. the the the the the the. the. thi. thi. thi. thia, thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th is. th is. th is. th is. th is. th is. th. th. th. th. to. th. th. to. th. th. th. th. the the. the the the the. the the the. the. the the. the the the to. the the the the the the the the the the the the thea thea thea thea. face with the like the gnarled eye now. I mean it's the effects are really good. Yeah. Yeah. Compared to how dukey some of the zombies are. Yeah. Well some of them are good and some of them are terrible. Yeah. Which is like, come on.
Starting point is 00:29:57 They all deserve it. They all deserve that extra little bit. Just a nice touch. I wonder if they were were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just they were just like they were just like they were just like they were just like. they were just like. they were just like. th. they were just like. th. their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they were just. their. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. th. to. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. that extra little bit. Just a nice toucest. I wonder if they were just like, Ricky, can you go do those? Ricky, come on, look, well, you don't have time to redo them. That zombie just looks like the preacher man from Beetlejuice with a smaller head. I do like to go back to the shark underwater scene. I do like to go back to the shark underwater scene, real quick, when the zombie grabs Susan while she's swimming, to get away from him, she grabs some coral
Starting point is 00:30:28 and waggles in his face. I like that. Corals? Raw. It's gonna be real scratchy, but the zombie isn't gonna give a shit. No, it hurts him. He's like, oh no. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Oh, my skin. Imagine being the like the dive, the professional diver for that scene too where they're like, okay, you've been, you're diving in this movie and they're like, here's your costume. It's a fucking white G stirring. He'd be like, word? Also, their boobs don't even look alike. It's just not a reasonable bathing suit. No, it is not a... And like the Americans kind of look at each other like, what?
Starting point is 00:31:09 Oh, I've always interpreted that look as Ian McCullough is ogling her. Yeah. And to Saffarra looks over like, come on, dog, to which I have the note, why? Who gives a shit? I don't know. You have no relationship. No, they're in love. They're like holding hands and shit. Ugh. Oh, man. I love later on in the movie where his comb over just completely shits the bed. Oh, he looks terrible. Because there's a lot of deep side parts in this movie. Him and Brian are both, they have the same fucking haircut. But Bryant's is like much thicker and at one point it covers his eyes like there's no way you could see anything that's
Starting point is 00:31:47 going on. Nope. Nope. Sorry I'm laughing so much I just love this movie. No, it's fine you should experience your joy. So I don't know we like see that there's a mass grave. the dead bodies are bleeding when they get shot which I liked. I thought that was a nice touch. I thought the masquerade was a nice touch. I love the wrapped up, like, you know, wrapped up in a sheet and then tied off zombies that like slowly just start to lean up and they shoot him in the head every time. Yeah, it's disconcerting a wrapped sheet person sitting up. I also love that everybody's squibs are usually like a metal plate with an explosive on it. And you can tell when it has like kickback sometimes and the zombies are like, oh fuck. They're just like legit response to they get like, oh fuck.
Starting point is 00:32:33 It happens multiple times. It's a great movie, so. You know what we do see in this movie though? Huh? A land crab. We do? We do. I love that shot. thah. that shot. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tha. tha. tha. tho. tha. tha. tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. tha. tha. th do, we do. We do. I love that shot so much. Yeah, it's pretty nice. Do you want to describe it? It's for anyone who didn't watch this movie, which I have to assume is at least 50% of our audience.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Come on, y'all. There's a shot of the town and there's just a zombie sh and attack of the crab monsters so I'm glad that we could just see them in action. I want to put in a plug for attack of the crab monsters. That movie episode does not have as many downloads I'd like so go back and listen to that. Oh really? Yeah, I appreciate it. Dave is very funny.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Very funny. Very funny. I would go out on a limit and say you don't need to see. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I want. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. movie and I didn't it doesn't matter to me so. That's one thing I wanted to mention like there is a lot of ineptitude in a Fulchee movie. Oh that is the understatement of this episode. But then there are these moments when Mrs. Menard is getting her eye punctured. Yeah. There's this tension that's built by her like trying to the to the to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the, thin. the the, th. the the, thin. thin. thin. the the the the the the that's. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their is a thine. their is a thine. thine. thine. thine. thine. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. te. te. te. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. I. the. to. the. I. I.'s built by her like trying to hold the door shut as the zombies pushing open. And the way we see that is just a light on the wall that's ever increasing. Yes, yeah, it's beautiful. And that's a really well-shop thing. Yeah, the thing about this movie is that there's a lot of attention to very strange details. Yes. And then none ton. the their their their their their their their their their their their their none, their none, their none, their none, th. th. th. th. th. th. thin. th. th. th. the. then, the. thin, the. the. the. that that that that that that that that that that's that's that is that is that is that is that is that is that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that thi. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thin. thin. thin. thin. thin. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. that's one thing that makes like that really sells Fulchie movies for me is that like in the beyond
Starting point is 00:34:07 There's that whole scene where the guy's getting attacked by tarantulas and like yeah You can laugh at the tarantulas that are obviously fake tranchal is on a stick that are going back and forth, but then like The whole thing of like them biting out his nose and eyes and like just like? That's why I always th., th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the they. the the the the whole. the whole. the whole. the whole. the whole. the whole. the whole. the whole. the they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the the they. the the they. the the the they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the on of that and just like that's why I always think like you can't set out to make a shitty movie. It just happens and it just happens and sometimes when it happens like when it's fulchie or Ray Dennis Steckler or like these directors that make these movies that are just like to monstrably not good but super enjoyable at the same time like yeah, yeah, sorry. No, it's okay. It's okay. No, that makes that. That th. That that. That th. That that. That th. That th. That that. That th. That th. th. th. that. th. th. th. that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Like, yeah, sorry. No, it's okay. I think that, no, that makes perfect sense. But I was just watching that, I was like,
Starting point is 00:34:49 that is such an elegant way to show this scene. You can tell what was important to him. Yeah. And you can tell what wasn't. Like why that 400-year-old plus helmet was just that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that had been for that long. What? What? Brian, how do you know, first of all? He doesn't, he calls them conquistadors.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Quistadores. More than once. Oh, I haven't noticed. Oh, her hot dogs are on the outside right before that, but I don't remember who got hot dogs right before that. So they go, Dr. Mardard fixed them up and then he's like, I gotta go back to the hospital because he's always got to go back to the hospital. I don't understand that, but okay, because they're just fucking dying. So like, let they. Just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to, to, to, to, to, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr. Dr, Dr, Dr. Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr, Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr on my wife? She's just seven or eight miles down this one road.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Yeah. Word talk? Yeah. They have a vehicle though. It's true. It's true. Because I wrote that down. I was like seven or eight miles up the trail.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Like what are they going to fucking? And the house is beautiful. Oh yeah, which it doesn't seem like it should be in this town. So, fulchie. So when they get up to, they go inside the house and they find Mrs. Bernard on the floor getting consumed by zombies. Oh, right. It's her hot dogs that are on the outside. Her wrist hot dogs are on the outside. Yeah, her knee hot dogs are definitely on the outside. And the their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, knee hot dogs are definitely on the outside. And there's just there's great scenes of stretchy skin snapping, biting, and like pulling just pig intestines out of her
Starting point is 00:36:30 guts and that's so narly. And those zombies don't at first notice our heroes. No. Our heroes. And they like are able to sneak out for a second. And then they see them. It's fine. It's fine. I guess. So one thing they were trying to make the zombies more true to like the sort of like Haitian voodoo idea of zombies. That's why they're always with their arms straight at the sides and closed eyes looking down. Okay. I appreciate that. Yeah, but it's also like, it makes it much less threatening. They're not like, they're just kind of like, when they're breaking down the door of the hospital and the final epic battle scene, they're just a little bumpy mosh pit that goes through the door. They're not, they're literally just shambling. Like they're not even, they have no intentions, it seems. They just want to get in there and eat some people's. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're not they're they're not. They're not. They're they're just they're not even they're just they're just they're just they're just they're just. They're just. They're just they're just. They're just. They're not. They're not. They're just. They're they're they're. They're they're. They're. They're they're. They're they're. They're they're they're they're. They're. They're they're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're just. they're just they're just. they're just they're just they're just. they're just they're they're just. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're in there and eat some peoples. Can I ask a question? Please.
Starting point is 00:37:25 What did the conquistadores have to do with any of this? It's there, Gregor? Why does that matter? They were there earlier, Antilles, they named the whole area. No, I know, but why does that matter to this film? It doesn't. It was just so that helmet, he just digs it up with his little fingers and says, this is 400 years old at least, Brian. You don't know that, Brian. He's a Superman fan though.
Starting point is 00:37:53 He's got the Daily Planet T-shirt on. I liked that. Yeah, it was cute. He also seems like he can't fake sadness at Susan's eventual death. By the, like, the wormy zombie., th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, that, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th-he, th-in, thi, thi, th-in, th-in, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin., the, like, did she get killed by the wormy guy? Like the wormy zombie? Yeah. Okay. The one that obviously has worms glued into his eye-sock.
Starting point is 00:38:11 I imagined being like, Giovanni. Put the worms eye in the mask. Come on, Giovanni. And that's like the super iconic one. Like if you get a zombie poster poster that guy's on it The zombie t-shirt I have has that guy on it. Yeah, I felt like I'd seen it before. Yeah What with the tagline of this movie is like we're going to eat you and it's just like so like it's so It's obviously got to get a rise out of like normies who are like bugged out this kind of stuff. I guess so And one of the 2000 two th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's thi. I've thi. I've thi. thi's thi's thi. And this is also where we've got the ankle biting of, or the ankle ripping, it's not a
Starting point is 00:38:52 biting because he doesn't get infected of Ian McCullough's character, of Peter West, and therefore he's all jacked up and can't run anywhere. And then like Brian has to do all of the helping him places and I was like, Brian. They're in th th th th th th th th th th they're in they're in love in love in love in love in love in love in love in love in love in love in love they're in love th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho tho tho tho thu. And thi. And thi. And thi. And th. And then like Brian doesn't help him at all and Anne has to do all of the helping him places and I was like, Brian. They're in love though. Yeah, but like you guys will move faster if you bet with help. Yeah. That's how movies work. Also? I just want to say one more thing. I really loved Susan's throat.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Oh yeah. It was like for, I mean, it was beautifully done. But it was also like you've seen every th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. It was beautiful th. I th. I th. It was beautifully th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the. I tho tho thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. I'm sure do you see a lot of her inchwise, square inchwise. I mean there's the sea where she's like snapping the harness on for her scuba tank through her like you put them through your crotch. And like like, the crotch snapping, the camera's just like, I was gonna hang out here for a little. Let's see what's going on. This is my job, I'm the crotch cam. Of this like crocheted fucking thong she's got. It is incredibly unreasonable.
Starting point is 00:39:54 It's also just like how Dr. Menard's, the other, his assistant there is just like I'm straight not wearing a bra. Like you're, oh really? Why would you not be wearing a bra right now? I know it's probably hot there but like sure. You're like working on your feet. It's fine. You know what I did like, which was a shot that I really liked was the zombie POV with the dirt getting wiped, like wiping the truth off the eyes? I really like that a when the conquistador days are coming up out out of of of of of of of of of of the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I the th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the th. th. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like. Yeah. the the the the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. I. I.. I................................................. the.. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the a lot. When the conquistadoras are coming up out of the ground. Oh, is that who that was? Yeah. Okay, were they the ones who had heads full of raised crispy treats? And more, yeah. Fred, rice crispy treats? When the one is attacking Brian and.
Starting point is 00:40:36 And maybe his head was full of rice crispy treats. And Peter West runs up with the cross and like knocks the top of the head off the one's on. Yeah, that's what it is. Yeah. Yeah, and it's just like, yeah, it's like gummies and rice crispy treats and red. Yeah. It's red. Oh boy, oh boy. Oh man.
Starting point is 00:40:54 So, so we get to the final fight scene in the hospital where coming through the door, and I would say the zombies are like 20 feet away And they're throwing those bottles like 12 feet It's they're throw so badly they throw so badly like they have a bunch of them and they throw them so badly Also, how long can you leave those lit for before you throw them 10 15 minutes? Yeah, she's like a little bunch Yeah, fucking Ann it works out. I guess. 10? th. Yeah, th. Yeah, I I I? Yeah, I? Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they's like, they're like, they're like, the, they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're like, they's, they's, they's like, they's, they's like, they's like, they's like, they's like, they's like, they's like, they're like, th. th. Yeah, th. thi? They're like, thi? They're like, theeat, theat, theat, theat, theat, throw theeeat throw theeat, theat, theat, they're like, they're like, little bunch. And, yay! Fucking Anne. It works out, I guess. I mean... Well, Menard goes down. The assistant gets killed.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Menard's buddy who tells him all the expedition about what's going on on the island gets killed. That was Fritz. I couldn't understand a fucking word Fritz was saying. And there was no subtitles on Shutter. So I just had to guess, which I guess that he that he that he that he that he that he that he that he that he that he that he that he that he said that he said that he said that he said that he said that he said that he said that he said that he said that he said just had to guess yeah I guess that he said meatballs and eggplant Parmesan. This is a sweet little piece of racism where Menard's like yeah he's my friend he's the only other white man on the island oh yeah that was I was I mean I understand that Dr. Menard is your email address and I don't understand why because he's pretty much the worst he
Starting point is 00:42:07 He also drops the n-word at one point does he? Yes. Oh, I didn't even note I'd never noticed that I have it. I'll tell you when it happened. Oh, wow. It is between his month his mother his mother between his wife getting killed and the next note I says is someone should have packed this woman a bathing suit like blind Kiomi so I don't know. Huh. Yeah, I thought he said it. I think maybe I'm not a word inward. Oh no, I've never know. I think maybe it says Negro or something but something's still terrible. The sound is so garbled. I think I latched on to Dr. Menard when he is on the radio. I's the radio. I's. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like. I. I. I. I's like. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I latched on to Dr. Menard when he is on the radio and he's like, come in Guadalupah, it's Dr. Manard.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Guadalupa. Like, that's such an easy fix. Come in, Guadalupa. Guadalupa. Oh yeah, I've never noticed him dropping in the Nimbum. Oh yeah, I've never noticed him dropped him. I've never not. I would I would 100% guarantee that I've watched this movie at like 3 o'clock in the morning so many times. Yeah, well I was eating cereal. So the one guy's got worms glued onto his lips. Yeah, that's gross. So yeah, they're throwing them all tough cocktails. They's they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. their. Yeah. their. their. their. they. Yeah. their. they. they. they. they. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. their. their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. their. their. their. their. their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the movie. the entire church hospital. Susan pops up again it's like high season by Brian because he she just ends up eating him.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Yeah. Yeah. Well there's that scene where they're just staring at each other. Why you staring at the zombie? Yeah. She doesn't even look good anymore. And then he kind of like leans into her to let her bite him. Does it? Oh is this like oh is this like suicide by zombie. Is that? th. Oh. Is the. Is the the the the the the the the the the same. Is the same? Is the same. Is the the. Is the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I'm. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the.? I think I would not do that. I love my husband a lot. I'm like, nah, you're dead. If you're undead, like, I'm not going to be like, I want to be with you. I'm going to be like, I want to go to Arby's. So I'll see you later. You know? I do. Yeah. But then they, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they'll. they'll. th. th. th. th. th. th. they. they. they. th. they're. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. I'm th. I'm to. the. I'm the. I'm the. I'm the. I'm th. I'm th boat. It's Brian and and Peter and they're heading back to civilization on a boat that just put along because the drive shafts broken. Right, right, right, right. And then Brian becomes a zombie. Right. Because he's been bit by Susan. Right, like,
Starting point is 00:44:16 so the reporter is like... Oh, we get the news report from New York City while they're in the Antilles. Yeah, that's interesting. That's a really long way. He's like, what's on the radio and it's on that station? Yeah. Wow, radios, huh? Yeah. He's like, we need to throw him overboard.
Starting point is 00:44:35 He's like, no, we need proof. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then he disappears and comes back. Did he throw him overboard? No, he hid them downstairs because when you see the, like, when they're listening to a news report, and they're like the zombies are coming and they're eating everybody, and then the handles jiggling on the room maybe? Some bridge. Yeah. It's not the Clementi. We don't know it. They're on this like top walking path tier. And like the news reporter's like, oh my god,
Starting point is 00:45:12 they're everywhere. They killed everybody. Yeah. And you just see traffic going back and forth underneath them. It's so just because. Was that in the cut that I saw? I must have missed that. Yeah, it's like the last shot of the movie. Oh man, I'll go back and look at it. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Katie, can I read you my last three notes? I would love you to. Brilliant, masterpiece. Bravo and bravo. Oh, my God, Alan. You know that isn, that sounds like you are moving into the ratings face, so let's rate this bitch. Yeah, let's rate it. Okay, you go.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Oh, you want me to go? Yeah. This movie, I love it so much. I know. It's an 8.5. I wish you all could have just seen my physical reaction. I didn't even mean for it to happen, but I just placed my face lately in my hands. I mean, I do need to go and do some recant and find out if the N-words is actually used in the movie because it's probably going to drop it down. It's fine. But this,
Starting point is 00:46:14 there's just something about faulty movies and this movie particular that bring me so much joy. I want to take that back. I don't mean it's fine. I want th. I want th. I want th. I want th. I want th. I want th. I want th. I want th. I want thi thi thi to thi thi to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi the the the the the the the the the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end. I the end. I the end. I the end. I the the the th. I to to to to to to to to to to th. I to to to to to the to the the to the the the the the end word. I the end w. I the end w. I the end. I back. I don't mean it's fine to use that word. I mean it's fine for you to love something that has that word in it. For sure. It's fine You're you're not lesser than because you like something that's shitty You know and I understand that. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, I love this movie. I think the acting is so crappy and The story is almost nonexistent and I really love Richard Johnson as Dr. Menard. He's in the haunting. That's a great movie. I know there's something about Fulcett that's really special. That's fine. That's great I'm glad you liked it. Katie give me a number on this one. Oh boy oh boy so here's a thing it's a real standard zombie movie. It's like them shambling in and out of rooms and people fighting them and biting people but th. But but they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they look they look th. But th. th. th. th. tho tho tho tho tho tho that thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi theeeei thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I to them shambling in and out of rooms and people fighting them and then biting people but they look fucking great. A lot of them do. Some of them do. Like that scene, there's a shot of a zombie like walking
Starting point is 00:47:12 down the beach in broad daylight and he looks fucking great. Yeah. And then there's like his eyes all jacked up. And then there's other ones that just literally look like oatmeal people and they look like garbage. So that makes it stand out that they're it's very bloody and that the effects are largely more than adequate. Sure. But yeah, there's no plot. The acting is terrible. The dubbing is terrible and there are a lot of visible mistakes, which, but it's fun, yeah, it's a six.
Starting point is 00:47:46 It's bad and it's fine. You know, it's exactly what I thought it was going to be. It's exactly what I expected. Rob was like, how was that movie? And I was like, what do you think it was like? Because that's what it was, you know? I think this is, again, one of those perfect, like, perfect like me and my friends Mike and Josh we used to like do team Fulchie where we would watch horror movies all night long we started like six o'clock
Starting point is 00:48:09 and watch them until 6 a.m. Oh my god how did you live? Because we were 20? So or in our 20s. This movie is so good to put on at like 4 o'clock in the morning. You should just go to bed instead though listeners, kind listeners. If it's 4 a.m. and you think I should start this movie, you should probably rethink that I am-o. If you could sleep or you could watch a zombie and a shark fight each other. Yeah, I mean it is a beautiful dance. That's true. That actually what did I give this movie? You give it a six and a quarter for the zombie dance? It shark dance. It is like shuffle it is very romantic. Can I take you to a little place that I'd like to call? Mailback! Let's go.
Starting point is 00:48:51 We have a listener question from listener Peter. Hi Peter. Peter says, I currently listen to no fewer than five podcasts originating in Pittsburgh. Oh my God. And I have never even been to Pittsburgh. All but one of them are horror-themed. What is it about Pittsburgh that gives the ghost life the most life? Fascinating question. Mm-hmm. George Romero? Question mark?
Starting point is 00:49:13 I think that's part of it, for sure. Yeah, an obsession with the past is Pittsburgh to have? We get like 11 days of sunshine. Yeah, we're depressed. It's very gloomy. Very gloomy. Very vitamin D deficient. Oh, so vitamin D deficient. I think I have Rickets. I got scurvy. That's vitamin C.
Starting point is 00:49:34 That's vitamin C. That's your own fault. Just eat the limes, sir. So I was the, it's like, for years it was a hard life in Pittsburgh. Oh people here are hard people here are weathered except for the tech bros Who just got here? But like? Yeah to this day the air quality is still shit, but it used to go Stop saying that I'm fine. I feel fine My kids's gonna be fine. Your kids gonna be fine. She's gonna be fine. She's gonna actually has the air. She's already has asthma. I mean the air air. The air air air the air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air quality air air air quality air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air air. the air. the air. the air. the air. the air. the air. the air. the air. the air quality. the air quality. the air quality. the air quality. the air quality. the air quality. the air quality. the air air air air air air air air air air.'s fine. But like the the street lights used to be on at what 2 p.m. here because of all the soot in the air? Yeah in certain neighborhoods of Pittsburgh you can see they still have lights on top of the stop signs that they would turn on so the people could even just see stop signs when they
Starting point is 00:50:15 were driving. So it was it was fucking hard. And everyone was an immigrant who worked a manual labor job pretty much yeah. And neighborhoods neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods the neighborhoods their their their their their their their their their their their their their. It was their. It was their. It was their. It was their. It's their. It's their. It's their. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's the. It's the. It's the. It's the. It's the. the. the. the. It's the. It's the. It's. It's. Yeah. And neighborhoods were isolated basically because you were just in these weird pockets of living. Yeah, like a weird river valley of being settled outside of it. Yeah. So I think there's a lot of just like spooky elements to this area that really feed off and into the, and then Romero and everybody came along, made night of living dead and the thing. Change the game. Change the game game the game the game the game the game the game the game the game the game the game the game the game the game. the game. the game. the game. the game. the game. the game the game.
