Starting point is 00:00:00 I love Tammy one. I love Ron Swanson's first wife. The star of this film. Did you not realize that was Tammy one? Oh, yeah, that's Tammy one, the IRS agent? Is it Patricia Clarkson? Yeah, I fucking love her. She's so good. She's in so many things. She's in so many things. She's in so many things. She's in so many. Oh, that's nice.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Oh, that's nice. Yeah. I remember every fact I hear except then, you know, new things come and I lose. You lose my place of birth. I don't know, Pittsburgh? That would be a good guess. Speaking of Pittsburgh, pool's open. It is. You know what that means? You know what that means? Savini watch, 2019 is officially on. That means it's year five of us creeping on him at the pool. Because I think the first year we did it was 2K 15. It's that. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. With that, it's also the official beginning of summer, the pool opening. I have something for you. I have something for you.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Okay, what is it? Oh, for you? I have an icy mango. Alan, you're not going to believe this. Two icy light mango pounders. I'll have four more where those came from. I love that summer means one thing to us. I see the mangoes. Here drink this first because it's a bigger one. I love this beer because it has almost zero percent alcohol content. You can drink it for days. Nothing happens to you. You just have to drink it quick because if it gets warm by the bottom of the ca. Here listen everybody, this is how satisfying summer is the
Starting point is 00:01:46 satisfying summer is. It's a double open. Double mango. Cheers. To summer, to you, to summer, yeah, the president of summer. Because you guys know as a president of summer? You didn't vote for him but he is. Self-elected. I have no constituents. I have to really really really really really really really really really really to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the thi the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th's the beauty of my presidency. No one gives a shit what I have to say. You don't really have to make any big choices. No, there's no decrees, there's no nothing. We're not passing legislation. No. Just go fucking swim. Swim babies if you can't swim just eat some watermelon. Just drink kind of shitty mango-flavored beer and swim. That's live it. Or let's talk about a movie. Yeah, let's talk about witches, huh? Yeah, again, let's do Suspire again. Sys... Mm-hmm. You'll get it, hold on. Actually, I know this was his take on Suspheria,
Starting point is 00:02:39 sure, but I feel like it was really just a long, are you afraid of the dark for adults? Okay, okay. I think it this movie is being this was was was was was this was this was this was this was this was this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this was like this is this is this is like this is like this is like this is this is this is this is this is this is this this is this is this this is this is this is this is this is this is this this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is like this is like this is like this is like this is like this is this is this is th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. they. they. they. the think of this movie's being very teen. Okay I think like this was like I don't know yeah I have a lot of feels about this movie kids like to say I'm interested to hear them. So this is oh this is the woods by Lucky Mickey! Yes! Sorry Tua Irish listeners. Director of May and All Cheerleaders Must Die. I loved All Cheerleaders Must Die. Yeah. I saw a review of that today that says Lucky McKee strikes out again with All Cheerleaders Must Die.
Starting point is 00:03:17 In what world? Strong disagree. They had crystals and a Wican girl and a reanimated cat. Yeah. And like teenage girls eating adult men. It was like mean girl zombies. It was great. Katie, we've talked often in the past about getting a grudge going with another podcast. I would love to do that.
Starting point is 00:03:35 I think I found our grudge. Tell me. One of the hosts of Cinematically Correct. Yeah. Called Big Trouble Little China, a trash fire. Oh my god, oh my god. See, okay, I thought this was going to be a joke, but now I'm legitimately angry. Like I know I have a lot of bad takes on movies and I know I do know that.
Starting point is 00:03:56 That is a terrible take. Which one was it? Which host was it? It was Tyler from Cinematically Correct. Hey Tyler. No. So I think we're to feud now. Cool. I boasted an image in response to his trash fire image. What was it? There was the one of the storms that's blowing himself up. That's fair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Because that's how I felt at that point in time. I mean, theably, racially insensitive things go on in that movie. For sure. But God damn, it's a gem. Yeah, it's a gem. Please don't remake it, Rock. Oh, I forgot about that. Is that happening?
Starting point is 00:04:33 I don't know. I'd just like to put it out there in the universe. I'm asking you. Yeah, let's all say a little prayer that they don't say, the Rock. So that is the beginning and the end of our grudge segment? I mean, we don't have to go any further like, you're wrong, dog. I think each week we should come up with something we hate about them. Do you think that's fair? What's that with them shoes?
Starting point is 00:04:55 Shouldn't be too hard because they suck. And things like want the other side. Don't crudge at me. What do they do? If anyone gets confrontational with me, I will lay down and die. Oh, fuck. So, the Woods, Lucky McKee. Bruce Campbell looking like a hot dad in this movie.
Starting point is 00:05:21 He does not have a single line for that entire intro to the movie. I was like, something wrong with Bruce Campbell? Is he ill? He's just there to look stunningly handsome. So jawy. Yeah, so much jaw. So much jaw. What does it? His books like lead with a chin or something? Oh really? Yeah, he knows. Yeah. We should all know what our best feature is. For me, it's my non-conversational nature. Mine's my shapely legs. Oh yeah, great legs. Great gams, as they say. Great pins.
Starting point is 00:05:54 So this is a movie that is, it's not written by Lucky Mickey, but directed by him. And it was like their take on Suspereah and Phen phenomena and other Argento movies of girl goes to school, girl discovers she's witch sort of deals. Yeah, but not in like a Harry Potter way. No, in a much sadder than, oh, Harry Potter's pretty fucking sad actually. Yeah, it's pretty, pretty bleak. The star of our film Heather, Agnes Bruckner, gets dropped off at school because she's a pyro? Yeah, and her mom's a bitch, I think is the the th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, girl, girl, girl, girl's thi, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl she's girl she's girl she's girl she's girl she's girl she's girl she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, she's thi, girl, she's thi, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, girl, she's a bitch, I think, is the takeaway. You think that's what the turns say? I wasn't sure as when her daughter's walking away from the car, she's reading a book and not looking at her. She's a monster.
Starting point is 00:06:36 It's pretty much I'm planning to raise my daughter because I thinne. I think it'll make it that that that that th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thi thi thin' thin' thin' thi thi their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th School of Child Rearing. Exactly. Yeah. You can learn how to fight your way through life. When you say that, all I could think of was a boy named Guu, the Gou-Dolls album. So I don't really know what that means, but I said yes anyway. Did you guys hear me jump out that window? The Gougo dolls? Who knows any go-dulled-dales references? dolls references. I think a lot of people do. I know. You do. Also, a boy named Gu is a
Starting point is 00:07:07 funny name for a novel. It's true. It's not as good as I love you by boy street, but it'll do. Oh, it's that coming along, by the way. Auditions are slow and I don't think we got a lot of applicants. I'm not seen any emails come in for it. Thing is teenage boys not interested in being in Boys Street, barely on the internet. Certainly not listening to us. Are you a teenage boy? Just stay home. It's illegal for us to talk to you. So the school is weird from the jump. Yeah it's like a New England private school for only the finest young ladies. Yes. And only the tweediest of tweeds. Yeah, it's so tweedy. It's so tweedy. It's they. It's like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. the the the the you. the you. you. you. you. you. you. you. Are you're you. Are you're you. Are you're you. Are you're the the the the the you. Are you. Are you. Are you. Are you. Are you. Are you. Are you. Are the the th. Are the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the theene. Are you're theene. Are you're theene. Are you're te. Are you're te. Are you're tean. Are you're tean tean tean. tean. tean. tean. tean. te. te. te. And only the tweediest of tweeds. So tweedy. It's so tweedy.
Starting point is 00:07:48 I mean, what's New England? What's fucking tweed? Tweed stone and trees. We got to. Yeah, not wrong. I mean, it's an aesthetic I like, oh, very much. the fall for a wedding and every single person I encountered in the airport like at the rental car place every single person I talked to was like you here to see the leaves and I was like what the trees here to see the leaves I'm gonna see them I have to leave here don't I
Starting point is 00:08:13 people fucking love their trees so I'll give a pass on this yeah yeah yeah and immediately she is given a test to see if her family qualifies for student aid. Yeah. And they do because she aces the test. So she's just randomly circling things because she just doesn't give a shit. Right. On this very shaggy paper. I think it's supposed to be like either recycled paper so they're not hurting the trees. Oh, it's like super pulffy like fresh out the trade tree. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. the t. the. the. the t. the the. the the the tree. tha. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their th. their tree. te. te. te. te. tea.ea. tea.ea.ean.ean.ea.ea.ea.ea.s. And tea.s. And the. And the. And to be like either recycled paper, so that's not hurting the trees. Or it's like super pulpy, like fresh out the tree paper.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Like the tree was like, oh you need to shoot your paper, hold on. Yeah, it's like a tree the diet of natural causes. This is tree, this tree had a heart attack. Enjoy my paper. I'm not sure that I understand I understand I I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I understand I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I'm not sure that I understand the connection between the witches and the trees. Um, yes. Okay, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. The woods. I see. Oh, the titular, the titulers. I love that I was reading about this movie and people were like, oh, this is the second film that Patricia Clarkson and Angela Bettis did together and I was like, Angela Bettis, she's not in this fucking movie. She's the voice of the woods.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Oh. She's credited as the woods. I felt like they really used that voice too much. I felt like it was talking to me more than any of the characters and I feel like it really loses its effect after it's had so many lines. After a while it's a going, hey, hey, hey, hey, what do you do? Hey, bring me some veggie straws. Bring me some veggie straws. You up? Hey. Hey, what are you doing? What are you doing? Hey, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:09:58 Does this? Hey, watch this? Hey, watch this. Why, why is the Teresa ttrees a toddler? Mom, mom, mama, mama, upy, upy, upy, upie. Appie. Mommy. Mommy. Shut up trees.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Oh, that trees going to make me drink a glass of pino greaish. I have a shardening out of a pint glass. It's my specialty. So the school is seemingly infected with ivy and tree branches coming in almost every window. And again, very aesthetically pleasing though. I was reading a bunch of reviews that said that Miss Traverse who is like the headmistress of the school. Tell me one. They're like she's so cold she's so mean and I was like I didn't get that at all I thought she was being very caring from the jump. Yeah she was
Starting point is 00:10:57 more generous than I'd expect a headmistress witch of a private school in New England to be in the 60s yeah. Yeah I think th th th th th th th yeah I I I I I I I I I I I th th th yeah I I I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm thi thi to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to 60s, yeah. Yeah, I think that's wrong. Yeah, agreed. I mean, she turns out to be a real monster, but. Yeah. I guess, is she Clara Thompson? Is that what he was? OK, I get it now. It's all falling into place.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Well, it happened so strange. Well, I guess we'll get to the the end, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. that. that. that. that. that. tho. tho. to. to. to. to be. to be, to be, to be, tho. to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, the the the the the the the the the the the to. to. to. te.. te... te.. te.... te... te.. te........ to, to. the way it shakes out. It was almost like, and yeah, it was almost like they got to like three quarters of the way through and they're like, oh man. All right, this is going long, we got to wrap this fucker off. How are we going to wrap this up? What a dumb looking axe. And like how are we, yeah, how are we, we brought Bruce Campbell back? but just for a while. Like, I don't know. Because compared to all the people that he's acting with, he looks like he's seven feet tall and the most barrel-chested, do you mean that's ever existed? He is lumbering in this home.
Starting point is 00:11:52 I didn't think it's because everybody else was probably like five, four. Yeah, right. They're generally petite women. Yeah. So she takes the testeses and circles the chosen one she faked it she intrinsically knew what the answers were is the way I took I see that's that that makes a lot more sense and is much more generous than my reading of it which is that like this was all a big mistake what what I loved is like they're like okay to try to the te' te'n't to to the to to to to the to the to to the to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the too'n't the the the the the the the the the the too the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tryn tryn'n'n'n'ne'ne'ne'ne'ne'n'n'n'n'n'n'n' tryn' tryn't tryn tttryn te a tryn the ttryn't tryn't tryn't tryn't tble, puts the pencil down, folds the paper over, and Mr. Versh walks back in, she's like, okay, you're done. Yeah, that is interesting, because I wrote, I had the note like, well, what is the time limit?
Starting point is 00:12:30 Because they don't say, so maybe you're right. Yeah, okay. It was like, that better. I watched the movie today and I was taking notes and I went out of my note-taking app to look at something and came back in and it had erased all of my notes like halfway through the movie. So I was like I can re-watch it or I can just try to remember. Yeah, I know that's fine. So my notes are a little loose goose. But so we meet Miss McInall, Miss Traverse, apparently all of the teachers are named after counties
Starting point is 00:13:05 in the northern peninsula of Michigan. Oh man, people, I think you mean the upper peninsula as people call. Because people who are from there are so fucking proud of it. Literally I visited the lower peninsula once. Oh no. Which was like one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. And a person from the upper peninsula was like, oh please don't judge us all by that. And I was like, Barb, let it go.
Starting point is 00:13:30 It was weird. It was weird. Anyway, yeah. Yeah, so there are all. Oh, right. Peninsula though. Okay so it's just it's just Michigan specific then so it's like Maconau Traveill. Yeah yeah yeah. I don't know that much about Michigan but I'm certainly acting like I do. And Arbor, Miss Arbor. Oh all right. Yeah yeah yeah I just thought that was a nice little touch like yeah that's nothing to do with New England and or this movie? No unless they traveled from there to New England as a yi. to. their. their. their. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they they. they they they they they traveled from there to New England as the young, no, that's not their names when they showed up. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:06 So, I like that they named themselves after towns in Michigan though because they picked those names. All right. All right. Hi, it's me, Sandusky, Ohio. The cardboard capital of the world. What's that? It's got Cedar Point. Oh yeah, yeah. Can you tell I have very little to say about this movie? I'm sorry. One of the things I really like about this movie is like the subtle interactions that the main
Starting point is 00:14:36 character has with other characters. Yeah. I really like the friendship montage with her and Marcy. Listening to headphones? Yeah. And then like, like kind of walking around school together, it looks like they're almost holding hands, but they're not, and they're sitting on the well real close to each other. And it's just like real sweet and like, there might be like a little romantic spark, but you can't tell. And her mother has thrown in her face, thrown in thrown in thrown in thrown in thrown in thrown in thrown in their, thrown in their, thrown in thrown in their, thrown, thrown, their, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their, their.... th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thro. their, their, the So to see her like have a friend is like, well, fuck you mom. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:07 She calls home and she's like, mom, I just want to come home. I miss you and I want to see my friends. And her mom was you don't have any friends. Oh, what a bitch. And I'm just like, she's like, to be'd be better off if my mother died. Yeah. Just like, whoops a doozy. Yeah. But then when she does, she feels real sad about it, scene anyway. Yeah. Which is like, I hope she gets over that feeling, because she actually is better off.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Don't you think? I think so. Yeah. But like, there's, and that keeps, and that keeps, that's a recurring, that, that, that, that, that, that's a, that's a, that's, that's, that's, that's a, that's a, that's, the, that's, that's, that's, the, that's, the, that's, that's, that's, that's, the, the, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, the the the the, the, the, the, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the they., the the the the the the., the., the., the., the., the., the., the., the., the., that's the., the Like, she's such a teenage girl. That's such a teenage girl thing to do, yeah. There's the one scene where she's like in trouble for something later on in the movie. I can't remember which time she was in trouble this time. Oh, it was when she got into a fight with Samantha, like the fist fight. And Miss McEnol is telling, th, th, th, the, th, th, the, th, th, th, the, th, th, th, the, th, th, th, th, the, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, is like, th, the, the, the, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, is like, is like, the, is like, th. th. th. thi. thi. the, is, is, is, the, is, is, the, is the, is the the the, the, the, the, tick where her head twitches.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And Heather does the tick and then looks at Ms. McInall and she's just like, ew, you did that to me. That's gross. And she's immediately like, I'm so sorry. Yeah, she's certainly ashamed. And I really appreciated that because sometimes teens are just shown as being just shitty. Sure, especially a teen who is a wayward teen is Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're supposed to get in this film and she was she was she was really like I was like oh, she's you know, she's the wayward teen with a heart sort of thing. Yeah, I know lucky McKee didn't write this, but he did write all cheerleaders die. Yeah, which I also thought was a really great portrayal of tea. Yeah, which I also thou also th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. Yeah. It's like never, it has not been like real exploitative. Hmm. No, no, and this like handled by somebody else, like, you're basically in Catholic school girl uniforms. Yeah. And there's no like titillating aspect to this at all. No, no, you're right.
Starting point is 00:16:59 It's very like, yeah. Everyone keeps their shirt fully buttoned up. She gets yelled at for not having a shirt tucked in. Oh, I love that where she gets kind of low class so-and-so puts our hands. They're so upsetting. Yeah. Oh my god. I like still sometimes have nightmares about being in school, like the things that can go wrong in school. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:17:22 Like, having someone like a teacher just dress you down in front of all of your peers like Like I still literally not have nightmares about it Luckily I've never talked about that in therapy I'm too busy talking about how my parents have never and will never love me so it's like Yeah, there I'm sure I've talked about this before but when I was years old, my mother and I were having a talk and I was super bummed out about something. And she was like, you know what, these are the best years your life. FAAQ. And I went, oh.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Isn't that awful? Oh, I don't think I want to go on then. Oh, this is like the pretty dope. Yeah, I mean. Yeah. I think for a lot of people that is their zenith, though, and that sucks for them. Yeah. My zenith has already passed also, but that's fine. No, dude you're riding high. Do you know, like 19 to 24.
Starting point is 00:18:15 It was fucking great. Oh, God, I was straight-aged and emo. Yeah, those are mistakes. I literally chose social genres to be a part of that are literally no fun. Yeah. You guys want to cry and not drink about it? Oh my god. That's so sad. So this, speaking of how shit he is to be a teen, Samantha is her tormentor. Yeah, she's got a squad of mean girls, which I like a lot.
Starting point is 00:18:47 She keeps punching milk over into Marcy's lap. There's a weird like, drink the milk. You have to drink the milk, which is like, be more subtle, you know? Hey, hey, pst, are you drinking the milk? the woods, in the woods, yo. It's me, the woods? Get your calcium! You up? Drink that milk. It's me, the woods. Get your vitamin D! But Samantha keeps calling her firecrotch because she has like super vibrant red hair.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Yeah. Which I can only think of somebody calling Lindsay Lohan that? Who would call Lindsay Lohan that? I don't know why th this, but it was one of somebody who was in Paris Hilton's circle. Oh, it was like, Lindsay Lohan, she's a fire crotch. Why is that an insult? I don't know. Everybody wants a hot crotch. No one's like I want a busted ass crotch. that's boystree. I'm sorry, I'm really th I'm really really really really really really to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th I'm really really really really really really really really to to to to to to th. I'm really to to to to to to to to to to to thoes to th. I'm tho. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I was like I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. th. th. th. tho. tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I'm like thi. I was like's adult album. Hot Crotch.
Starting point is 00:19:45 I'm sorry, I'm really gonna let go of this idea. I just had to do like three auditions. I hate Hot Crotch so much that one title. Hot Crotch. It has a nice alliteration to it, I think. Hot crotch is back. All right. God, we're gonna get kicked off Spotify.
Starting point is 00:20:08 I'm saying hot crotch. Then back street boys don't want nothing to do with me. No, they don't. So there's just, it's kind of the same sort of thing that happens over and over. She gets in trouble, goes to the office. And the principal's like, ah dog it's cool. Yeah, and we've heard this story, this sort of urban legend about the beginning times of the school where there were these girls that were found in the woods basically. They were woods children.
Starting point is 00:20:33 And it was a girl named Clara and her two sisters who don't get names for like no fucking reason which I thought was extremely rude. And they had been like taken in by the school. the school. the school. the school. the school. the school. the school. the school. the school. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I was. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their their ti.. And, ti.. And, the. And, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their their taken in by the school and then they were tormented by the other girls. Right. And they like. Because they were weird. They would stare into the woods and listen to it. Yeah. I mean, that's weird.
Starting point is 00:20:53 For sure. Try to fit in. Just kidding. Yeah. Yeah. And we see that like, in these nightmares that Heather is having, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th, the, th, th, th, th, th, the, th, th, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, the, they, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, the, the., theat, theat, the., theat, the.eat, the., they were, they were, they were, they, they, they, they, they Heather is having, that they executed the former teachers at the school and became the school. Right. I'm your school now, dog.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Yeah, sort of situation. Now I'm in your school. So, but we've also seen like a creepy little girl with an axe in Heather's dreams and visions, which is creepy, I guess. Sure. And then a whole scene where she has the dream where Anne is in her bed and she walks over and she's bleeding. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:32 But like dream her is like, hey, what do you do it? And then she turns at her and grabs her and screams, and then she wakes up? And then she wakes up. I like that dreaming within a dream thing yeah she and she heard Anna screaming this is my bed which I liked I thought that was kind of a creepy too I don't know other than that though you weren't scared of the CGI vines attacking everybody through the fog I was so disappointed in that yeah like why two thousand and six man it was all about that I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just th you you th you th you th you th you th you th th you th th. thi th. th. th. th. th. I just like th. I just like th. I just like th. I thi thi th. I didn't th. I didn't th. I didn't th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi th. I th. I th. Ithe fog? I was so disappointed in that.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Yeah. Like, why? 2006, man, it was all about that. I just think you didn't need those vines to do anything. Sure. It could just be the girls. It could just be the girls. Like, why do we need nature to also attack?
Starting point is 00:22:18 Because it's the woods. It didn't call it the girls. It's not called the girls. You're right, it is not called the girls. Well I like there's a couple... Thompson and her sisters. The girls. That's my competing band going up again Boy Street, the girls. The girls. It's gonna be a lot creepier for you to do teenage girl auditions and it's gonna be for me to do teenage boy auditions because gender roles. Sure, sure. It's just going to sound like baby metal. It's going to be sick. That's so much cooler than Boy Street. I'm jealous. So, um, oh, there's two, there's two attacks with the trees that are really, really liked. Uh, one was the cop. Yes, I agree.
Starting point is 00:22:56 So the, the, uh, the headmistress has been like lying to the police about Anne, the Yes. Because she was in a mental hospital, the cop brings her back and then brings back her necklace. And the headmistress is like, oh yeah, I'll get that to her later. Yeah, and that's how. And she's gone, though. And then when Marcy goes up, and then when Marcy goes up, and then when Marcy goes up, the cop. And thanks, and they, a noose in the cafeteria. That's right. Yeah. Why didn't they send her out to the woods? Why they're going to kill her thin? I don't know. In front of all the other kids. Yeah. You think like if you're trying to stay,
Starting point is 00:23:34 like the problem with Tammy one is that she's doing a bad job as a headmistress all over. Like if they want to stay open, you can't have like two girls go missing and another one hang themselves this week. This week. So like time your shit a little better. Think it through. It seemed like it was one of those horror movie troops of like they've been at the school for a hundred years it said. Yeah. And but it was like, but this week. So what were they doing in the interim? Were they just educating and mat their their their their their their their their their their their. their their. their. their. their. their their their their their their their their their their their their th. thiolea. their thiol-s. thiol-s thiol-s their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. te. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. their. the. th week. Right. So what were they doing in the interim? Were they just educating and matriculating only the finest young ladies? Is that what it is? Just filling Harvard up? I mean, yeah. Is it really a good school? Are they really, it seems like they're successful.
Starting point is 00:24:15 It's a beautiful building and it's in a nice area? It's gonna. Only the finest young ladies. I don't th.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thoes. thoes. tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. It's. thi. toee. toe. toee. toe. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th'm so hung up on that. So the cop goes out to look for Anne and Marcy and he's driving around and he gets kind of lost. A tree, he stops, gets out of his car, gets back in and a tree falls on his car and he's like, ha ha ha. Oh, that was weird. And then the, like a mouth opens up. the tree and then slams into his windshield the tree. tree. A mouth. M m mm. Mines. Mines. Mines. M. M. M. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. t. A. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. That's pretty dope. It was pretty dope. And you don't see him die, you just see the branch going through the seat and blood-boring out of it. I like that.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Is the other death that you liked, Alice, the mother, being dragged into the sky? Yes. I loved that. When they, so later on in the film, Mom and dad, Samaan, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, Samantha had, Samantha had, come pick her out. Samantha has made this weird turn where apparently she was bullying Marcy all along to like protect her. First how does she know and second there are better ways? You don't think you're the only one who can hear the voices. But why are the which is coming after her then like they came after Anne and Marcy? Because she's the chosen one and she's the chosen one and she's the the the the the the the they's the they's they's the the the the the th is the th is the th is the th is th is the th is th is the th is th is the th is th is th is they's they's they's th. th. the the th. th. they's they's they's they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to the to to to to to to to the to to to to to to to to toooooooooooooooooo toe. toe. to toe. toe. the they. the the the the the they. the one that's gonna make it all work. I don't know, that's what she just said. Who's the chosen one? So Heather, or Samantha says to Heather, she's like, you're the chosen one, you're the one
Starting point is 00:25:27 who's going to make this all work. Like, you're the linchpin basically that's gonna make all of this come together. But they were only three. No, no, no, there's like a whole armada of them because she, they, they took over all those girls. Oh, the girl, that's right, that's right. That's right, that's right. That's right, that's all right.
Starting point is 00:25:52 That's all the tho. is going on. It's fine. I feel like that's also very Susperia to be like, we're going to get in your body. Don't worry about it. Yeah, for sure. Luckily, there were no floppy baby armed people and it didn't take two and a half hours to get there. True. Did you, um, did you like the craft reference of spinning a pencil on your finger on your desk while the teacher's talking? And it had that had to have been. And it had about witches. Can you think of a better movie about witches I can? Hmm. Well, one might say Susperea, the original, but. One might, and one might also say the craft, 1995.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Neff Campbell. Her is a ball. Name two more. The girl and the other girl. who from Melody from A-Dud is in that movie. It's either one who shaves her head in, oh god, what the fuck is that movie called, Live Tyler in the record store? Robin Tunney, yeah, Empire Records. Yeah, she's in that movie.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Eskeet Ulrich is in that movie. And the guy who plays Travis Birkenstock and Clueless, isn't that movie? Travis Birkenstock? That's a great movie. Clueless is a fucking fantastic movie for a 100% of a generation. Yeah. It's a retelling of what, Emma? I don't know. That's great. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:27:16 I didn't know that. Good job Amy. Oh, so the thing I love is, so mom and dad take Heather away, and they're driving away and dad gets lost. Yeah, her mom's being such a bitch to him. She's just such a bitch. She even has like bitchy eye makeup. It's, she's like so perfect for that role. I was, I was not to diverge again while I'm doing this, but like I was blown away by how dense everybody's hair was. Yes, how do they get so much volume? She's so much hairspray. So much. And just so much teasing I guess. But like Tammy one, her hair is just like, it's the size of her shoulders. Yes. And it doesn't look bad. You know, it looks fantastic. Yeah. God damn it. It's so much work though. They're driving away and as they're driving, Bruce Campbell's looking at a map and all of a the. t. the. the. the. the the the the the the the t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. tree in the middle of the road. Yeah. So a tree had walked out to the middle of the road, which I think is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Did you imagine it being like the Ence from the Hobbit's movies? Whomph! Yeah. Right now someone is just getting so mad that I called it the Hobbits Hobbits. Because it's not. Yeah, it's called hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, hobbits, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, their, their, their, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, which th, which th, which. Because. Because. Because. Because, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. I th. I thi, and the the the thi, and they. I their, they. I their, they. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th's the third one. Hobbits, Hobbits, Hobbits, Hobbits, Hobbits. Right. I mean, they could have done better, but what are you going to do? Ah, Tolkien. So they drive off the road and they're sitting on the side of the road, and then all of a sudden these guys launch out and flip the car over? And then snatch mom away.
Starting point is 00:28:40 I loved her getting dragged into the sky. That's so good. I wish that I wish that they hadn't dropped her though. I wish they had just taken her. Yeah. Yeah. Because like can they then just get into her body? Could she get a job at the school? I don't know. Do you want a job? Someone has to live in your body. Yeah. You're going to have to work. the stuff. the stuff the stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff the stuff the stuff th keeps th keeps th keeps th keeps th keeps th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the stuff th. th. the stuff the stuff the stuff stuff the stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff th. the stuff the stuff the stuff the stuff stuff the stuff stuff stuff stuff the stuff stuff. the stuff stuff stuff. the stuff stuff stuff the stuff stuff the stuff the stuff stuff stuff. the stuff stuff stuff. the stuff stuff stuff. the stuff stuff stuff stuff. the stuff stuff stuff. the stuff stuff. the stuff stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the stuff. the the th keeps. th keeps. th. th. th. they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they're they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're the. they their. the. the stack stuff. Oh she can balance the stones. I'd like to think of every time she was balancing something the camera would pan out and she'd been balancing her chair on two legs without like shaking. Yeah, yeah. I thought that was really cool. I thought there were a lot of nice touches to this movie for sure. For sure. With under like a shitty umbrella. It was nice touches just just like their th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like a their, like a their, like a shity, like a shity, like a shit, like a shit, like, like, like a shit, like, like, you know. Which is the third album by Boy Street. Nice touches on touristy a umbrella.
Starting point is 00:29:26 I think just nice touches is a great name for a Boy Street album. So wait, I love you? Hot crotch and nice touches. They just keep getting dirty or in. Why isn't anybody auditioning for this band. I love you. I love you. I hope that Justin Gray will draw up a cool logo for Boy Street. He did send me a drawing of no Santa for the too santa. He did send me a drawing of no Santa being a snitch.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Good. Good. It was on the same piece of paper that he was doing a drawing of no Santa for Santa being a snitch. Good. Good. It was on the same piece of paper that he was doing a logo for metaphysophilies. Oh, nice. I love his pop punk ska career. Yeah, I love the third wave scars keeping that guy in Fain and his mortgage. We eventually get to the point where there is the headmistress has to tabby one has to go snatch Heather out of the hospital because after the accident they're in this creepy as hospital. Yeah it seemed like the hospital people were in on it with
Starting point is 00:30:33 the school people which is weird right? Yeah yeah are they in Woods people too? I don't know. Okay I don't know. So like what if what's people are just working all over the town? Like they? the the their their their their their they? their their their their their they they they their they their their their their their they their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. they their. So. their. their. So. their. their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. their. I. I. their. I. I. their. I. I. their. I. their. I. their. their. their. their. the all over the town. Like they're just bagging your groceries at the IGA. Well then, yeah why isn't, I think there must be a better way to do it, just put the milk in the regular milk and have everybody in town drink. Yeah, right, why does it need to be like, I guess it's the school, something to do with the school? I don't being bones in the well too that never comes back up. And also like she keeps getting injured, she keeps injuring her ankle, but it doesn't really matter. Right. It doesn't really hobble her from anything. She just goes where she wants but a little bit slower. It's a little easier for the ivy to catch her what it needs to. Yeah. I guess they were like you cannot run ivy if you don't have a spined a spined the spined the spined. I the spined. I the spined. I the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, te, te, te, te, te. te. te. te. te. teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea. tea. tea. tea. ankle. Spray her ankle, and then sprain it again. I think the second time was supposed to show that she can balance on it, because it's like
Starting point is 00:31:28 broken to the side and she's just standing there balancing on it and not reacting to it? Yeah, I guess. I may be, uh... You're being too kind. It's generous of you. she has to infect Bruce Campbell with her blood, which I liked. I like that scene of her like forcing her blood down his throat. I didn't love that? No? No. Why? I just didn't. I just let the idea that like in like witchcraft or the occult, like it's inside of you and to get it out, you have to cut yourself and then to like make somebody, like sort of like vampirism or something like that. Her blood looked like oil, like water oil. And then later on he
Starting point is 00:32:06 pukes it up and a twig comes out of his mouth? Yeah, that I liked. There's some good barfing in this movie. His daughter barps a leaf. Yeah. The milk with the black substance in it. I was just like, mm-mm. I do not like. I have a tenuous relationship with milk at best. Yeah, I mean just drinking a glass of milk is gross if you're not a child, I think. If there's not cookies being dipped in it, I'm not fucking with that glass of milk. Eh, milk. What are you doing? Alito, what do you do? I don't think we're going to get to a fourth album, Alan. I just think I just, I like now have a very bad feeling about Boy Street. You're bringing th th th th th, I th, I th, I th, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. I th. I th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th am I going to get new ones? Maybe the success of Boy Street will, you know,
Starting point is 00:32:46 maybe I should start going to places like trampoline parks to recruit for Boy Street. Maybe I'm doing it wrong by trying to use our podcast as the platform. I think you have to be a YouTube or not. Yeah, I don't know how to do that. Uh, Fortnite? You fuck with Fortnite at all? Is that where you put your arms on one side and then you put your hips through them and then you put them on the other side? Flossing? Yeah. Am I doing it? Someone tried to teach me to do it?
Starting point is 00:33:12 A friend of the podcast, Christina. And I just couldn't pick it. I'm flossing everybody. She can do it, she's cool. Yes, as far as I know, that game is just dancing. Okay. Sure. And so there's this big ritual going on where Marcy, Heather and Anne are all suspended in this room by vines. Yeah. And Anne has the vines growing into her face, which I liked.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Okay. And Marcy and Heather don't for some reason, but who cares? It's, yep. And Marcy has to balance these stones to complete the ritual. Is that what it is? Yeah, I think so. Okay. And the whole time we're watching this ritual, dad is escaping from the hospital and driving back.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Yeah. And so he fucks up the by axing one of the teachers. He had to ax some of the question. I made deep eye contact with Katie. It was an axe of the question. Do that laugh sound uncomfortable? Because it was a little bit. I was like, I know what I'm doing. I know what I'm doing right now.
Starting point is 00:34:20 I don't want to miss a reaction to this. But it does lead to the great scene of Heather picking up the axe and hitting one of the stones like a field hockey or lacrosse into one of the witches' faces and knocking the top of her head off. Extremely New England. It was so funny. He was so willing to axe those witches too. He was just ready. It's down to protect his daughter, man. I guess, yeah. It puked a twig up earlier.
Starting point is 00:34:51 I mean, like, that's a weird trigger for you to axe a human being to death. But okay. Like, would you have stolen a car and drove in out there or would you have like gone to the cops? What's Katie do in that situation when you wake up? I'm not gonna face anything head on. Look, you know, gotta get on paper. I gotta play it straight. What about you? What are you gonna do? I don't know. I feel like I don't have a good answer for that because I don't have a kid. You like my kid, okay? I do like you get a lot, yeah. Do you go out there? I'm gonna go out there?
Starting point is 00:35:27 Really? It might be like a like- I'll let her know that I'll be on my way because you're gonna get there first and I'm gonna call their c- c-dum, thi's a tombs, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, and I' comme, and I' c' c' c' c'a'a'a'a'a'a'a' their'co, their' their' their' their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their, their, their, their, their, their, their, I got put on some X Body Spray, go fight some buddy. She's an Xbox. X Body Spring. You gotta put on some Xbox spray.
Starting point is 00:35:51 It probably exists. They're probably the same thing, honestly. You open an Xbox. Right into your armpit. Then do it 30 more times because it's the only way Axe body spray works by doing it 30 times. You start in one armpit and just keep spraying across your chest. That's what they do in the commercials.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Oh my God. And then we see those guys on the bus, you're like, get home. Hey, mango me. they're ming me. Okay. Okay, so they get out of these mangoes are brought to you by mixed vegetables that are keeping them cold. Thank you. Oh, you're poor frozen veggies. I gotta drink them fast because I gotta drive home later. Don't listen to that. Listen, parents of Boy Street, it's gonna be fine. It's not like you're punching a key into the beer. What if I did?
Starting point is 00:36:39 Should we shotgun beers? Never mind. There's no way not to make a mess during that. Well, to go stand in your bathroom. That's how I used to shotgun beers in college. Uh, fun fact, never shotgun a beer in my life. Really? Next week we're going to shotgun a beer bong. ne. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:56 It'll be fun. You're really going to open your throat. I'm sorry, there's so little to say about this movie and we're so excited about summertime. I have the note tense bathroom attacks. Tense bathroom attacks. She's in the bathroom and the vines are coming in and like punching out the windows and coming after her and stuff. I just like leave her alone. I don't understand why the I don't understand why the why the vines are coming after her. They need her. That's where the magic is in the
Starting point is 00:37:34 woods. Yeah. The whole time we forgot to mention that Marcy is a great singer. Oh yeah because they need her to sing the little ditty. to sing to sing to sing to sing to sing a to sing a to sing a to sing a the little ditty. to sing a the little ditty. to sing a the little ditty. the little ditty. to sing a the little ditty. the little ditty. the little ditty. the little ditty. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. I. I. I. thi. thi. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. thi. the the the the the the the the the th. ditty. That seemed like an egregious need to have the little ditty song perfectly. I love that the little ditty is just for going, oh, yeah, but it has to be fucking perfect. It's just like, you gotta sing like you're fucking in the background of some Phil Spector song, let's just go. Right. Why is that? And she's been, they, we see that they've been like training her for hours and hours in a day day day day day day day day day day day the day the day th day th day th day th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi. Oh, thi. Oh, thi. thi. Oh, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. ti. toge. toge. toda, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi. they've been training her for hours and hours in a day on it. I think it's fine. I think it's doing okay. Yeah, they're doing great. Yeah, I don't know. Of course, there's the whole reveal of like why they're doing this to get all the bodies.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Um, yeah. And then they have to fight their way back out of the school because tree, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, they, oh, oh, they, they, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they, they, they, they, they, they, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, their, their, their, their, their, their, their., their. their their their their their their their their their tho. their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. Yeah, yeah. So really all that ever had to happen to stop anything bad was just killing Tammy Wan. Right. Yeah. She's Clara Thompson, Doug. I guess. As we learn from the Godfather, you take out Clara Thompson, the whole family's gonna fall apart. That's probably true. I have no idea. You can't put a Frado in charge of anything, you know? They're not going to put Ms. Maconagh in charge. So it ends with them burning the school down, hearkening back to her trying to burn her house down. Yeah, I did like that.
Starting point is 00:38:54 And then the, like Bruce Campbell carrying and down the road and all the girls following him. Yeah, wrapped in like trauma blankets. And the text comes across the screen that's like, this actually happened, this school burnt down, but none of them trees got burnt. Hmm. That seems like a little bit of overkill. The only thing I like about it is that I saw somebody goes, this is one of the worst movies based on a true story I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:39:30 No. I'm paraphrasing but still it was like, dog. Guy. Guy. Google it. Are you the one who thought Fargo was real? Is that what's happening right now? Guy? Give it a gug. Here's a thing that I really didn't like was Mr. Verve's his last words were, So gifted. I actually thought that was kind of funny. Did you like that? Yeah, I thought it was funny. I think there's some pretty good humor in this movie. Did you? Yeah. I don't think any part of this movie was funny.
Starting point is 00:39:57 It's just kind of like taking a dig at that whole like prep school sort of of like that like thatthink so? I thought so. I thought somewhat. Yeah. I thought it was really like playing that up like, boarding school is pretty brutal guys, you know? Or I think I took a boarding school is unnecessarily brutal. Oh, yeah, definitely. This is the idea of boarding school. Frashe movie.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Oh, school ties. ties. Oh, fucking good. That's a horror movie. Yeah, Brendan Frisier's a fucking beast in that movie. He's gigantic. It was never that big again. No. It's crazy. Yeah. I've seen the mummy's movies. He ain't that big. He's a skinny little rail in Encinoman. Is he? I thought he was a big guy in that movie. He's skinny? Okay. I've thin. He's skinny. Yeah. I thinny. I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th-I th-I thin thin' thin' thin' thin' thi's thi. I was thi. He's th. He's th. He's thin' he's thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's thi's thi's thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's gigantic. He's thi. He's gigantic. He's gigantic. He's thi. He's thi. He's gigantic. He's thi. He's thi thi. He's thiino Man. I know, how are you talking about Encino Man? Like you've seen it in and I haven't. I've seen, look, I've read the Encino Man script, okay? I looked at the storyboards. I have the children's book. Incino Boy. So Katie.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Is Encino Boys a better name than Boy Street? Are they gonna dress like cavemen? Should they? No, no, not like that ill-fated Nick Crowl TV show, Cavemen. Oh, I didn't know about that. Yeah, it was based on the Geico commercials with Cavemen? Oh, no. Yeah. Yeah, pal. Yeah, especially to get a paycheck.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Yeah, God, I do mostly anything for a paycheck. Look at him now. He's on like 15 TV shows. He really is everywhere. So, Katie. Alan. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, you want to go to the raining space? I... Hey, hey, what do you do when you think about raining this movie?
Starting point is 00:41:37 Could you make a sandwich? Could you scrape some of it off? No, no, no, that's not enough. No, that's good. No, fine, fine, fine. If that's the best you can do, that's the best. Just give me the... Yeah, let's write this bitch. The woods are so demanding. I know. What's their mean? That's. I had no idea. I really like it.
Starting point is 00:42:05 I think it's like, I was reading reviews of it and someone said that it was like a Valutin movie. I don't know what that means. Like the cat people, he was a producer of films in the 40s. And they're these like, kind of like, it's almost the sign filled of horror movies. It's like, like, it's a movie. It's a the movie. It's a the movie. It's a movie. It's a movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I'm like, I'm like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. thi. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. th. th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, like, like, like, like movie about nothing like but like you might be a cat person we're never gonna show you anything but maybe later wait and they just kind of like build this nice tension and they're very film noir sure horror movies and this kind of gives me that vibe of just kind of being like it sort of harkens to the remake of Suspheria of like the mundaneness of everyday witchcraft yeah they just be teaching at the school the school the school the school the school the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. Yeah, they're just be teaching at the school for a hundred years. They're 401k's must be
Starting point is 00:42:50 beast though. Honestly. But it's it's like just a slow burn and like I'm gonna give it a seven. Wow. I am. I have a feeling you did not feel the same. No, I mean I have no strong feelings about this movie one way or the other. I felt like it ended and I was like like like like like like like like like like like like like. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th the th. I th. I th. I th. I'm just th. I th. I'm just the th. I'm just th. I th. I, I mean, I have no strong feelings about this movie one way or the other. I felt like it ended and I was like, well, that was a movie. There weren't many parts that I thought were very engaging or scary, and there weren't many characters that I really liked. But I also didn't hate them,
Starting point is 00:43:18 and I also wasn't that bored. So I'm gonna give it a six six, thoxxxxxxxxxx, thoes, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, th, th, thi, th, th, th, thi, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, and I'm, and I'm, and I th, and I that, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, that, that that that that that that that that that that that that th, th, th.. th. th. th. th. th. th. I, th. I, th. I, th. th. th. th. th. thi, that's, that's thi. thi. thi. th. thean, thean, tho. that's, that's that's that's that's that, which I know should be a five, but I feel like our rating system is so fucked. Yeah, I'm gonna give it a six. If someone asked me if they should watch it, I'd say, I don't know. You know? Yeah, I don't remember. Treat yourself. If you feel like the game is changed. If you feel like the game has changed? I have a very different relationship with movies now. Yeah, I do too Alan. I feel like it really ruined a lot of things for me. But it also brought a lot of things into a sharper perspective. Oh, okay. Where I was like, okay, things that we got from Robber Girl on Instagram. That said, still can't believe y'all hated the Suspiret remake so much, but we can get past this. I believe in us.
Starting point is 00:44:16 I believe in you too. But also I want to hear why you liked it. My response was sometimes we're going to disagree, but we'll be stronger for it. Yeah. Because I'm an idiot. Can you write those down because I think this could be good lyrics for Boy Street? Sash and Sino Boys, I haven't decided. But that was a little taste, but Katie I'd like to take you to a full-blown area of mail bag. I'm here. This is from Donald D. to send us an email. I don't know how I feel... what? Nothing? I have to say it. What? Is he
Starting point is 00:44:46 his duck? Mr. Duck? Is he that Donald D? Okay. Damn it. It's Donald Dammit. So this intro I found mildly off-putting. You'll see why. Okay. Dear Katie and Katie's friend. So funny to me, but it is. She's. She's legit crying right now, everyone. I have told her. I have told you, you can, D. You cad. Dear Katie and Katie's friend. I have two questions from Donald D. First, I went to see the Suspiritory remake after listening to your podcast even though you specifically
Starting point is 00:45:53 said not to. I said I loved you, Donald. And I really enjoyed the movie. Am I still allowed to listen to your podcast? I don't know, let me ask my friend, Alan still watch the podcast? Can you still watch it? Yeah the fuck out of my house stop watching the podcast? And then he says I want to thank you for the episode and all the spoilers though I'm in Bousan and saw the movie in a theater knowing everything that was coming kept me from getting lost during the extended sections in German that were coming kept me from getting lost during the extended sections in German that were the only subtitled in Korean. Oh, jeez, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:29 I'm glad we could ruin it for you. We're providing a service. So this next question is what's going to get you. Yeah. I've already been God. I'm sorry. Which leads me to my second question. Which non-U.S. country do you think produces the best horror movies? Allen's not allowed to say Japan.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Motherfucker knows my name! Yeah, he knows your name! Why do you think he addressed this to Katie and King's friend? I don't know, because it's funny. It's really funny. Okay, um, you're not allowed to say Japan. Okay. Absolutely, obviously. I have a different answer. Yeah, I'm going to say Japan. Okay. It's, it's, they're the most commercially successful
Starting point is 00:47:11 anyway, other than American horror films. Yeah. I'm going to go with Italy? I love Italian horributes. He should have said he couldn't say Italy. Yeah. Everyone knew what? they were going to say in the early 2000s. I fucking love. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I to. I th. I to. I to. I to. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I to, I'm, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm a to say, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm to say. I'm to say. I'm to say, I'm to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I to say, I'm to say, I'm to say, I'm their. I'm their, I'm their. I'm their. I'm their. I'm their. I'm their their their their their their, I'm their their their their, I'm Italy away, I might say Korea in the early 2000s. I fucking love Korean Harmories from that time. Was that like a one missed call? Was that Korean? Yes, and a tale of the sisters. Oh yeah, the American remake of that is really garbage, which is a shame. Yeah, and they called it by the name of another Korean movie, which is really confusing.
Starting point is 00:47:40 So yeah, Italian Katie's emailer.. the the the the the the the the the the the the the their, th. th. their, th. th. thian, thian, thian, thian, thian, thian, thian, thi, thi, their, their, their, thi, thi, that's, that's, that's, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is that's, is, is that's is, is that's is that's is that's is th. It's the world is full of Katie and Katie's friends and also Katie's enemies. Thanks for the show. You all are fabulous and your show has helped keep me from feeling too homesick since moving here. Best, Donald D. Oh. Well, I'm glad we can be a little touchstone of home for you. Me and my friend here. As you should know, Why is Katie's friend is one of the greatest honors of my life.
Starting point is 00:48:14 So I'm very excited to be called that. Thank you. It's Alan. Alan. Alan M. Beepepe The third. My parents were very imaginative. Just as imaginative as your grandparents were. Hey, EMTs, we give you a lot and we ask for very little in return.
Starting point is 00:48:36 So we have actually a favor to ask you. We were contacted by a PhD student who is doing a dissertation on sort of like queer studies in horror. Yeah, I think so. That's a good way to put it. So what they need you to do is take this survey and it's a link. So we'll put the link in our show notes for this episode. And we'll put it on all of our social media as well. So please go find it and really try to help this person out because they are a lover of horror and doing some really interesting research. Yeah we say a lot of dumb stuff on here so having somebody do the smart side of things. We can
Starting point is 00:49:13 encourage that. Someone should do the smart side of things. So yeah we'll put that link up in places where you can find it and please go and thi the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi's thi. thi. to thi. to to thi. to to to thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. They got no excuses. They got no excuses now. And be like our friend Donald and listen to the podcast.
