Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 30- Office Killer (1997)

Episode Date: May 18, 2015

This week we are joined by our friend Kelly to discuss her pick, the 1997 horror-comedy film "Office Killer." Things to consider: the pleasures of email and murder, being either Molly Ringwald or Jean...ne Tripplehorn as a personality test, Windexing the inside of a body and uncomfortably using the word "sidepiece." Have you seen this movie? Did you like it? As always, we love to hear what you think. Starting point is 00:00:00 Just do your best Carol Cain impression. Hi. And welcome to another episode of WhereWolf Ambulance. I'm Carol Cain. I'm here with Alan. My friend, hi Alan. Hi, Katie. How are you? Hey, I'm good. We're also here with our friend, Kelly. Hi, Kelly. Hey Katie. How are you? Hey, I'm good. We're also here with our friend Kelly. Hi, Kelly. Hey, guys. How are you? I'm good, thanks.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Good. Excellent. So Kelly brought us the movie Office Killer, the 1996 Cinematic Classic. Oh, man. Do I need to start with an apology? Ah, you might want to. Oh. I don't do... Okay. No apologies.
Starting point is 00:00:46 No apologies. Come on. Okay. So I picked this movie. One I hadn't seen it before. Oh, okay. So I didn't know what we were going to get into. This wasn't a childhood favorite.
Starting point is 00:00:56 No. What a weird childhood you had. When I was 13, I fell in love with the movie. No, it was on a list of 50 horror movies directed by women that you need to see according to the internet. And, um... Fuck an internet. So, just blame the internet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:13 So, I picked it one, it's directed by a woman, but not just any woman, it's directed by Cindy Sherman, who is an artist that I came to like in college. Oh yeah? You know, college art history classes? I don't know Cindy Sherman at all. Okay, so she, I do, I just useless degree. And also the cast was appealing? Yeah, it was a killer cast. Yeah. So I think it had a like a lot of things going for it that sounded like it could be amazing. Right. And the concept of office killer is a great, it's a great concept. Yeah. It's a great concept. Yeah. It's a the. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's a the. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's good. It's good. It's a good. It's good. It's. It's. It's. It. It. It. It's a good. It's good. It's good. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. It's a good. K. K. K. K. And the concept of Office Killer is a great, it's a great concept, I think. Yeah, who doesn't want to go to a rampage in their office every once in a while? But. Thank you NSA for listening to this podcast. That was enough to attract you to this film. Yes. And then to suffer it onto others. Yes. So I think the hard thing to understand, or maybe that's hard to prepare for
Starting point is 00:02:09 is that it's not really a horror and it's not really a comedy, but I don't know what it is. I mean, there's some horrific moments in it. Like, it's really, really horrific, but I don't think it tries to scare you. Maybe it does. I think, I think it was, I th it was, I th it was, I th it was, I th it was, I th it was, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th i was more, I th i thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, it was thi, it's thi, thi, it's that's that's that's hard's hard's hard's hard's hard's hard's hard's hard's that's hard's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th, th, th is th is thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, thi, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi don't think it tries to scare you. Maybe it does. I think it was more of an artistic statement. I was reading some reviews in the movie. Oh, there will be spoilers of this film.
Starting point is 00:02:36 If you can spoil this movie, I'm not sure if you can or not. You know, Office Killer really sums it up. So I was reading some reviews. One of the positive reviews. It's, I, thiiiiii, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, thi, I, I, I, thi, I, I, I, thi, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I was, I was, I'm, thi, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. I think, I think, I think, I think reading some reviews and one of the positive reviews, it's got a 12% on rotten tomatoes. I think there were two positive reviews for this movie. That's I think our new lowest. Is it? Is it our new lowest than lowest is. Is it the lowest than is. Is it? I think so. This is our new that. I think the happening. I think the happening had 17 and I think th. This is this this this is this is the g g g g g g g g g g g g g g gosh. the gosh. th. th. the gosh. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the goshe. th. the th. th. thi. their the thi. tho. the tho. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. their. their. their. their. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. This is worse than Gosh. Sorry guys. Well I assumed that God Monts are Indian flat. It didn't even have a rating. I think I went through to see what our lowest rating was and I don't even think anyone ever reviewed it. It's not a real movie. They compared it to I can never pronounce this word because it's French and I'm terrible. Gialo. It's close. The grand guineaol, the like that like the, the, the, the, I, the, I, the, the, I, the, the, I, I, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, I the, I the, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, th, th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. thi, the, like, the the the the the the the the French and I'm terrible. It's a Jialo. It's close. The Grand Gugnog, Grand Gignial, the like that like French horror theater that
Starting point is 00:03:30 happened where like it was just like they kind of stopped having stories and you just walked in and watched like live on stage torture porn. Oh and uh that's so French. Yeah it was like it was totally over the top. the tho. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the thr- the the the the the the the the the French, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the I just got next door to like the real porn Like one door down. Yeah. But this was in like I think the turn of the last century so like but it was just like super over the top and super insane and Every every performance was trying to out do the last one sort of a yeah. Yeah, I was gonna compare it to something from interview with a vampire but I don't need to out myself as an interview with a vampire fan right now. I think it's okay. I think that's fine. Sort of like that thing in interview with a vampire, are you guys familiar with that movie? Bigly. Okay, there's the Antonio Banderas as part of that theater
Starting point is 00:04:12 company that like actually kills a woman on stage when they all come out in their black clothes, about black cloaks and it's like like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thition of theater of like just totally over the top ridiculous and this movie I think kind of fits into that because it doesn't have really a storyline. There's not so much of a story and it's just like a series of kills after a while and like after the depressing part stop. I wonder if there had been maybe a half an hour or so that was cut out of the middle because it seemed like someone just thrown in and was like we the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I's just, th. It's just, th. It's just like, th. And it's just like, th. And it's just like, th. And it's just like, th. And it's just like, th. And it's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to, like, thrown, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thrown, like, like, like, thrown, like, thrown, like, thr-s. I's, like, we don't need any of this. And then there were things that I was like, how this doesn't make any sense at all. Should we, do you want to do like an overview? Well, do you have- I found a great overview in the San Francisco Examiner review of this movie, which was glowing.
Starting point is 00:04:54 You're kidding. You're kidding. The ape shit for this with a reading right now. It's the movie plot is simple Doreem Douglas Carol Kane is a low-level drudge in the office of a downscale magazine Constant consumer because of declining revenues the staff is downsized and Douglas is forced to work at home where she discovers the pleasures the pleasures of email and murder of email and murder. And I was like, fuck I do want to see that movie. Oh wait, I already saw the movie. No, God damn it. That's such a good review of it though, like a good summation of what happens in it. And everyone in this movie is someone
Starting point is 00:05:34 you know from something else. Right. And the trailer looked amazing. Yeah, it was cut really well. I actually didn't watch it till after I saw the movie and I'm like, oh yeah, I want to see that movie. So maybe there was something to like the pacing and the editing that was. I think the opening was good, like the acting was pretty terrible, but like it's set up like, it was pretty depressing, like just watching people giving their like, like, like, pink slips and stuff and watching a Carol Kane just like, I don't know, be like, I don't the the the the the the they like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the such a great actress. See, that's the thing is, everybody in this movie is like a fairly competent actor. Say what you want about Molly Ringwald, I love her. Gene Triple Horn has been in plenty of things
Starting point is 00:06:14 where she's competently acted. I feel like it must have been the directing, where they must have been like, just in mode. Like just it moats so hard. I don't know. Did you notice that Dorian's mom is played by the library? From Ghostbusters, yeah. Very exciting. I was like, oh shit, where the fuck? Oh my god. Do we want to try a summation of the plot?
Starting point is 00:06:37 Someone's going to walk me through a little bit of this. I might know it's really all over the place. But let's try try thoe thoe thoe thoe thoe tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho tho tho th. tho tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. thoom. thoom? Oh, to to bea. to bea. to bea. to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. Oh, to bea. to bea. to bea. to bea. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to too. too. too. too. tooo. too. to to to the place. But let's try it. Kelly, I nominate you. You brought this masterpiece. OK, so it takes place at Constant Consumer Magazine, where we are introduced to Doreen Douglas, the Mousy copy editor played by Carol Kane. She, okay, so she is notified that they are downsizing. She's going to have to start working from home. The person who's in charge of this downsizing is Gene Triple Horn and her boss is actually an actress I wasn't familiar with some German lady.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Yeah, I don't know. May or may not have been like a bit of a poke against Ariana Huffington, but I'm not sure if that's real. That makes her hair make a lot of a like poke against Ariana Huffington, but I'm not sure if that's real. That makes her hair make a lot of sense. Yeah, yeah. She had very Huffington hair. And this huge nails. Her nails were disgusting. Yeah. Anyway. So, okay, so she's, she's obviously a dedicated, intelligent, but awkward, mousy person that no one really likes and and so she's working late one night and I don't know what his role was someone that was he Oh greasy rat man copywriter guy boss guy I did not know what his job was so the two of them Molly Ringwold side piece I think was his role and he is from law and the thi to the they. It's from law and the the the the guy. I didn't know what his job was. Molly Ringwald's sidepiece, I think, was his role.
Starting point is 00:08:06 And he is from law and order. He's been in like every hour or whatever. Yeah, he was a ratty looking dude. His voice is so familiar. Oh, really? Yeah, I don't know. Anyway, go on. That was our law and order aggression.
Starting point is 00:08:22 So they're both working late. She toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. they. toe. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's. He's. That. That. That. That. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was. That was a and order aggression. So, so they're both working late. She's having computer trouble and she goes to ask him for help. He comes to help her and he makes, he makes sort of an advance on her. Like he was gonna kind of like shoulder grab her, touch her. It's like when you hate pet your cats, like when you won't leave you alone, I felt like that's what he was doing. It also felt like, well if I'm I'm I I'm I I'm th I'm th I'm th I'm th I'm th I'm th I'm th I'm th I'm th th th th thi th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi that tho tho tho that that he was doing. It also felt like, well, if I'm going to help you with your computer. You're going to touch my ding-dong. So...
Starting point is 00:08:49 He's being a creep. He's being a creep. Yeah. She runs away to the bathroom. Yeah. He's turned turn the machine off? They spent a lot of time kind of being like, well these are the first computers that any of you have ever dealt with. This is the new computers, these are the first computers, these are the computers. This is a computer. Like, the whole thing Carol Kane has no
Starting point is 00:09:14 idea what to do with a computer. Yeah. So. But then later she somehow does, which is the thiiii. And th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, the their their their thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their their, their, their, their their, th, th, th, th, th, th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, to. to. to. to. the. the. the. th. their their their their, their, their, their, the beginning says, just because you know a lot about computers, dot, dot, dot. It's like a very like precious moment of time where like knowing how to use email was a big deal. I definitely didn't know how to use email in 1996 to be fair. No, I didn't get my first email address until 98. Yeah, all you had to do was hit F1 to receive your message. That's right. But somehow they were also seemingly pressing another button, and then F1. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. to to to to to to to to to make the to make to make the to make the they. they. thii. they. thi. they. they. they. they. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their precious. their. their precious. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. P. I. I. I'm. P. I. P. I. I. P. I. P. I. I'm. P. I'm. I'm. P. I'm. I'm. Very. P. And, they were also seemingly pressing another button control or shift. I don't know, they pressed another button and then F1, which I noticed, it didn't make sense. Yes, it did feel very precious and that like, oh, like it's every time we watch a movie that doesn't have a cell phone in it or every time like, oh this is a time before now. So the power is turned off and he's just fucking around he's got like he's got
Starting point is 00:10:06 like a screwdriver in his or that maybe a flashlight in his mouth and a screwdriver in a socket it's all very precarious and then she comes back from the bathroom and it's like oh oh no back up it's the power back on he is electrocuted and dies by accident yeah pretty gory. Like it's a pretty good death. Yeah. And that flips some sort of switch inside of her and she and so she calls 911 and then hangs up without saying anything decides they didn't have tracking back then. They didn't know if you were calling them. It's just a landline. Carry on. So then she decides to just tracking back then. They didn't know. They didn't know if you were calling them. It's just a landline. Carry on.
Starting point is 00:10:47 So then she decides to just take him home with her. Take him to the basement and prop him up on the couch and start a new life with him. Yeah. But on the way there, there's like to come back to haunt her. It does not. It does not. Because she kills him. She kills the homeless man? Yeah, he's on her couch. He later.
Starting point is 00:11:07 I'm sorry. Almost everyone you see ends up in the basement. Yeah. The Girl Scouts. That upset me. Yeah. That was, that was a moment where I was like, the to, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that was. Two little girls. And it was like, they looked fucked up. This movie made me wonder, like, do we all have that point where like something fucked up happens?
Starting point is 00:11:34 And we're just like, well, this is my new life now. This is what I do. It is concerning. Yeah. Oh, I guess I'm just a body collector. You said it earlier, but who doesn't want to go on like a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a ramp a to go on, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, who doesn't want to go on like a rampage of your co-workers? Yeah. This is kind of like you know how office space was funny to you before you started working in an office and then you saw it later you go oh god it's so true you know. And then it's just depressing. Yeah like I
Starting point is 00:11:55 definitely worked with people at my last job where I was like you might shoot me. Like I'm not going to give you any more work to do because the to to to to to to the to the to to the to the the to the the to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I'm their. I'm their. I'm their. I'm the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. I their. I their. I their. I. I their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm t. I'm. I'm t. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I you might shoot me. So there's all this sort of inner office stuff happening too where like Molly Ringwald is sleeping with Christopher from the Sopranos. She's super shitty in this. No, triple horn's triple horns with sopranos. Molly Ringwald is like making eyes at him. That's right. She's greasy Gary a side piece. Yeah. And I'm just going to keep saying it feels comfortable comfortable my mouth. No. to to to to to the to to to to to the to to to to the to tho to tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thus stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff tho tho thus stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff thos. thos. thos. their-s. their-s. the the the the the the the the tholus. Oh tholus. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. the the the the the the the the the the th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the the the the thi-s. the thi.'s right. She's greasy Gary's side piece. Yeah. And I'm just going to keep safe side piece until it feels comfortable my mouth. It's never going to feel comfortable my mouth. It's so gross. The greasy side tea? It's not a nice thing. But once he's, once he's like, once he like disappears, she does not waste time and no. Ringwald's got things, she's got things th, like, even her interactions with, uh, with Triple Horn, I'm just gonna call her like, this is Jim Class, Ringwald and
Starting point is 00:12:48 Triplehorn, or interact with each other. Um, it's very like, you know, she's all like, what's up, bitch? Like, it's just very like. Her character is inexplicable in this movie Molly Ringwald. Like, triple horn is so mean to her. I felt thol l tho- Like ably unkind to her. That's funny I thought it was the reverse I thought it was I thought it was Ringwald was being really mean to triple horn. Really? Yeah I read it I read it completely yeah. Wow what if this is like a personality test. I don't want to be Molly Ringwald starts to suspect that Doreen is like a crazy person for no fucking reason. She has no reason to suspect that.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Like, that's where I thought something got cut because. Although those eyebrows do, her eyebrows were like a net finicello drawn on or like Kim Novak, but they were like, they were in the clowniest arch. They were just up and over the moon. They were different in every chain. Yeah, I really liked that actually. Which was, yeah, that was hilarious. Like, they were, her drawn on eyebrows were emoting with her and that was pretty great. But there was like no reason for her to believe that this woman was a crazy person. All that that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was thed thed th. thed th. thed th. their their their was their was their was their was their was their was liked. their was liked. their was their was liked. their was liked. their was liked. their was liked. their was like, their was like, their was like, their was like, their was like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. their th. their their their their their their their their their their, their, their, their, their their their their their th. th. they were both supposed to stay late to work on a story. Molly Ringwald went to get food, came back to the office, well Dorine was gone. Well Arianna Huffington was also working late the same night they were working late and so Kim Molly Ringwald went to go get food and came back and they were
Starting point is 00:14:20 both gone and then the next day Ariana Huffington was missing. I don't think Molly Ringald put that th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi thi thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. Came to go to go to to to to to to to to th. Came th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. And then the next day, Ariana Huffington was missing. Dun, tun, da. I don't think Molly Rivald put that together. I don't think she did either. I think you just love her too much. I can't trust her. And also for like, the first third of this movie, I thought, to kind of like wrap things up. So the first third of this maybe I thought was kind of like is this nine to five? God I wish this was
Starting point is 00:14:48 like making a cup of tea and then there was a dead rat and I'm like oh she's gonna use rat poison to poison someone and this is to be like nine to five but like spiola's yeah it wasn't. No there is zero Dolly Barton in this movie. So every person that she kills, she sets up in the basement as like her new fan talks to them and moves their hands around computers, which is strange. She is Ariana Huffington typing on it. Well, she took more, thankfully she took off the nails after she died so she could type better. You can't type with those nails. It felt very like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th..... th. th. th. they. they. they. they. their. their. their. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It, the, the, the, the, the, she. It, she. It, she, she. It, she. It, she, she, she. It, she. It, she, she. It, she. It, she. It, she. It, she. It, she. It, she. It's, th. It's, th. It's, thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. She was. She was, she was, she was, she was, or, you guys ever seen Maniac, the film, or there was an Elijah Wood remake with him?
Starting point is 00:15:26 Oh, no. And he kind of does similar stuff to that. But yeah, it felt like, yeah, it definitely took a weird, like, serial killer turn at that, like, I mean, I guess that's the whole premise of the film, is that she's a serial killer, but I, but, but, but, but, but, but, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, and, I, and, I, I, and, I, I, I, and, and, I, I, and, I, and, I, I, I, I, and, and, I, I, I, and, I, and, I, I, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th.. Just like. So I think that's why there are flashbacks. Yes. So in her spurs, there are scenes with her and her parents. And it becomes clear that one, her father was a creep.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Yeah, Eric Bogosium's a real fucking great movie. And the reason why he died is because he was trying to kind of fondle her while driving, like reaching his hands into the backseat. And so she grabbed his hand, probably, you know, like, symbolically her first like instance of like sticking up for herself, her first kind of like violence and causes the car to crash and he dies and the mom becomes paralyzed. And so now as an adult she lives at home with her invalid mother and takes care of her who's like just a wretch. Yeah and kind of a nod to psycho keeping in that whole like Ed Game thing as well so yeah yeah just might even notice that make
Starting point is 00:16:38 do you have trackball laptop exclamation point written down because I do they had a track ball laptop yeah chit of trackball laptop and I was like fuck I haven't seen a track ball laptop and forever. Wow. It was interesting because they were like you have to work from home now but she still seemed to work solely from the office. Yeah. I don't know. Well homes where you keep your dead bodies. Right, right. You want to make business in pleasure. So this to me to me to to to to to to to to the the to their to their their their their their their business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business business somehow Gene Triple Horn becomes like BFs with Doreen. She's like giving her clothes, which felt very condescending. So this to me felt kind of like Carrie where the nice girl and her nice boyfriend, you know, the nice girl decides that like, oh
Starting point is 00:17:16 this poor thing, I'm gonna take her under my wing, I'm gonna get her a date to the prom, and but it always backfires. You should never help people who are less fortunate than you. God damn I knew that's true and say. Look I've seen a lot of movies. A lot of De Palma films. Yeah. Yeah so Gene Triple Horn and Christopher from the Sopranos whose name in real life and both his movie escapemnate me. He is useless in this movie. He's kind of like the one voice of reason. He's the one who can kind of stay level-headed. Like Molly Ringwald becomes like shrill accusing her and no one believes her and she eventually gets
Starting point is 00:17:57 fired for going crazy because she's the only one that realizes something bad is going on. Michael and Parioli is the only one that is able to kind of talk to, he's the only one that can kind of talk to her without being a creep and without feeling bad for her. To Doreen. Yeah, and so he manages to survive. He's got the- He doesn't survive. He gets murdered. He does? He like, he like, she has, Oh, the tape! The tape! So it turns out this is a movie you can't actually pay attention to.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I feel like I did a lot of zoning. Yeah, oh yeah. Doreen has triple horn. That's right. Triple horn. It sounds like a play we're going to run. What's one the triple horn? Well, he was hovering behind her with a weapon for like four minutes. Just going, you can't see what I'm doing right now, but I'm moving side to side. And then she turns around and kills him with a knife.
Starting point is 00:18:49 That was a bummer. So I mean, I would like to suggest that all of her kills were somehow logical within her crazy brain. But she felt justified in them? Yes. Like, they all sort of made sense and sort of completing tha. to to to a family life at home. Sure. So and and friends and everything. Yeah. Yeah. It was pretty fucked up. There was a really gross scene where she's like windexing and mopping Gary's insides. That was great with just the flaps of skin. It was very. Yeah. It was like, why is it so flappy? Did you get real flapping when you get electrocuted? Was he decomposing? I guess? I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I the the the the the the th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And and friends. And and friends. And and friends. And and friends. And and friends. And and friends. And and friends. And and friends. And and th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And, and. And, and. And, and. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, so, so, so, the. And, so, so, so, so, the. And, so, the. And, so, the. And, the. And, the. And, and. And, and. And, and. And, very weird. It was like, why is it so flappy? Did you get real flappy when you get electrocuted? Was he decomposing? I guess? I had no idea how long he was in there. And
Starting point is 00:19:29 yeah, it was real juicy. Triple Horn's hand goes into it later too, which was gross. So I read on the internet that Gene Triple Horn didn't like, like, I guess she was supposed to kind of tumble into the body and it was supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed to be supposed to be supposed to be supposed to be supposed, to be supposed, to be supposed, to be supposed, to be, to be, to be, to be, the, to be, to be, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, like, like of tumble into the body and it was supposed to be much more gross, but she didn't want to do it. Ah, damn a triple horn. Why would you? Why would you agree to do this movie unless you're going to get in there? Yeah. I don't know, office killer sounds pretty classy. I don't sound like I'm going to get K-Row syrup all over my body. Okay, so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so. So so. So so. So so, so so, so so, so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th so th th, so th, so th, so th, so th thi, so, the they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would they, why would their, why would their, why would their, why their, why their, why their, why their, why their, their, their, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi. Why, thi. Why, thi. Why, why would you thi. thi. thi. thi. Why, why would thi. Why, why would thi. Why, why would thi. Why, why would thi. Why,s I like about the movie. All right. OK, so I think maybe appreciating it
Starting point is 00:20:06 as someone that likes Cindy Sherman's art. What sort of art does Cindy Sherman do? She has a very particular thing that she does. And it started in like the mid to late 70s or something, and still works today. And she's a portrait photographer, where her only subject is herself. So she takes the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi.... thiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... thiii's is is thi... Soeeeeea, is th So she takes these self-portraits where she's always dressing up as someone else and it could be a maid, it could be a clown, it could be like some high society lady, so and the series of her photographs were called untitled still from a film or something like an
Starting point is 00:20:38 untitled film still. So she's always kind of cinematic like you would see a picture of a woman and it looks like it's from a movie. And so I think it made sense that she would kind of transition into film. It seems like she's interested in sort of like identity and female roles and how we're like watched and perceived. So the interesting thing I think about Doreen is how her appearance changes over the course of the movie. Like she starts off like bundled up like two buns on the back of her. Yeah, like no makeup. And then by the end of the movie, she starts like,
Starting point is 00:21:09 she starts wearing the jewelry of the people that she kills and kind of starts to start becoming like more confident and wearing makeup and she really, she really comes into her own. It's nice. All it takes is a lot of a the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th th th th the th th th th is a lot of murder this is really just a coming of age story like a middle-aged woman and rumors and then she becomes gollum at the very end she's just like yeah precious very strange but then at the very very end she looks great very attractive right like a wig and some cat eye liner she's like she goes from like mouseousy Secretary to Fem Fatal.
Starting point is 00:21:48 And I think like she kind of, you witness her transformation. And then I think all the other women in the film kind of represent sort of like stereotypes. And so I think what this film is maybe trying to do is like explore sort of female relationships and power within the workplace and like I think it makes a lot of sense that she would kind of lash out against these other women that are being like very mean to her and so so I think her character is interesting like the film perhaps wasn't exciting or scary or funny to watch but I think it was interesting as like an art piece okay and this this to me this to me to thus to me. But I think it was interesting as like an art piece. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:26 And this to me excited me. And this, I haven't thought about it too much, but I can't think of another film except for maybe like the women or something like that. But this kind of passes like a super becctal test where not only do, it passes vectal test was flying colors but also none of the men ever have a scene where they talk to other men not about women you know it passes like the opposite okay so so I really just enjoyed that it was like a fully like female cast and directed film okay the men were really accessories yeah basically served to die like the male guy at one one point he even like, what's his name, Michael even said in the bar like, hello I'm here like, like, they would, they almost completely ignored him.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Yeah, that's interesting. I wish I liked it more. Yeah, I can, I can see all that stuff but I just don't think that it was, wasn't realized properly like maybe it was because this was I think this was like her first movie directing and only and only oh this is all she ever did yeah I don't feel bad for her she's a very successful artist or she's fine yeah I'm not worried about her financial situation yeah but yeah it just didn't it wasn't it wasn't realized well it wasn't just like like I wish it was funnier I think it was supposed to be fun. Yeah, I mean like Carol Keane is very funny. Yeah, Molly Ringwall can be funny. I don't know about triple horn. She was a Mickey blue eyes which is very funny. What is that? It is a mob comedy where Hugh Grant plays like a sort of a oh Jesus. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, that. That's that. That's that, oh, oh, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, that's. that's. that's like, that's like, th. th. th. I's. thi. I's like, it's like, it's like, it's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's like, it's like, it's like, it's like. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm. th. I's like. I's like. I's like. I's like, obviously he plays like a very proper British gentleman who's
Starting point is 00:24:06 trying to marry this woman, Triple Horn, who is the daughter of a mob boss played by I think James Kahn. And I actually took Nanna to see this one. I was in high school when it was out. Hi Nanna. Hi, Nanna. And she like laughed so hard. It was actually embarrassing. It's a really funny movie. When are we going to have Nana on here? I haven't told Nona about this podcast yet. I don't think she'll understand. Oh man, we should get her to do Edward's his hands with us. I think, I'll take it up with her.
Starting point is 00:24:37 I'll ask her. So, but a thing that this movie does that I actually really like is having the bad guy win, like having the bad guy win, but not like in that sort of last shot of like, ha ha, they weren't really dead. Like she's flat off, fucking kills everybody, gets in a car and drives away and like takes on a new life and a new persona. Like, she straight up wins. And I like that. I like didn't want to see thha that tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha the the the the the the the, the, thathea, thathea, the thathea, the thatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheathea, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, thi, the, the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the, the that, that, that, that, that, that th I don't want to see the I don't I like didn't want to see triple horn live. I didn't care if she lived she was shitty like she was like laundering money from the company and she was I thought she was mean to ringwalled I don't know you guys you guys can disagree with me if you want it was a very
Starting point is 00:25:18 very short with her loved ones I think we can all agree on that. And that makes you a bad person. Her job was very stressful. But she was she was embezzling money too. That's also stressful. Which I didn't know until she got busted for it. I was like what what? What are you talking about? There was no indication. Oh really? Oh, okay. Did you? So if what? At one point she needed computer help and Carol Carol Kane looks over her shoulder and we see like the chart. I think, so, okay, I actually, I actually, I have overwhelmed it and looked at the chart again, it looked like they were just reviewing computers. I think that was like, I think she made, I think we're supposed to believe that she made an Excel spreadsheet of all the money that she was laundering. Oh, that's smart. You've got, you, you, you, you, I, I, I, th, I, I, th, th, th, I, th, I, th, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm th, I'm th, I'm th, I'm th. th. th. thi, I'm thi, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, I'm, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. I, I, I, I, I, I. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm th. And, I'm th. And, I'm th. And, I'm th. And, I'm th. Yeah, I'm th. And, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm just, I think, I think, I think, I'm just, I'm th. Yeah, I'm th. Yeah, I'm th. You gotta keep that shit in order. Yeah. I want to know how much he's in your pocket.
Starting point is 00:26:05 No, but Doreen, to me, is like both a victim and the killer. And I did kind of like the ending, and I feel like in a weird way, she's kind of like the last girl, but also the murderer. Kind of. Yeah, like you talking about this movie, and when I was reading about this movie is way, the th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and thi, you thi, you thi, you to be thi, you're to be to be to be thi, you're thi, you're thi, you're to be to be to be to be thi, you to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th and th and thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, to to me thi, thi, to talking about this movie and when I was reading about this movie is way better than the actual movie Yeah, this movie sound great, Kelly. You're really doing a good job. Thanks guys. And I really want to stress that it is not good good. It is not a good movie. Like I was pissed while I was watching it. Like, oh, come on. This movie could be so much better because it's such a good concept. So do you thi this this this if Carol Kane is still in it. She still looks. She could be the mom. I mean... She could be the mom. Someone get Carol Kane on
Starting point is 00:26:51 the film because like I wish she'll do it. Were you gonna say what she doing? Yes. She's no she's on Tina Faye's new show the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Oh no shit. So she's so she's doing, she's doing stuff. She's okay. Yeah. Sorry I said a bad thing about Carolegan, I meant not, I meant none of it. She's perfect. Yeah, that's a, that's a lot cause wife from Taxi, man, come on.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And, um, Miracle Max's wife, rightthe Silence of the Lambs when, you know, Hannibal Lecter's gotten out and now he's hunting the doctor. But like she was just kind of like, it was that same sort of thing, I'm like, well, I did this shit, and I'm gone. What are you going to do? Yeah. Yeah, it was a, I think that was like a trope of 90s films of like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like and you're sort of like, okay, that's cool. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Yeah, I do, I wish it had been funnier and made more sense. I feel like, I even feel like if I saw this as a play, I would enjoy it more than I did as the film. It was acted so the theatric, like the acting was so big. Yeah. You know what I mean like yeah so like at the end of every scene someone would go Oh Or Christ yeah, just like super size and like I don't know aren't you like that at work I am like a stone pillar I don't show any emotion whatsoever. I am shut down for eight hours a day Then you leave work and what just like a moat? Yeah, just cry in your car. Yeah, you've met me right And then you leave work and what? Just like, moat?
Starting point is 00:28:26 Just cry in your car. Yeah, you've met me, right? Yeah. On that, I've been having this problem of like, I've been wanting to listen to summer jams, because it's summertime or getting close to. It's fucking 100 degrees, thrown. So it's like, I'm putting all these like sweet heavy metal jams and I'm like oh shit look at those Nick Drake CDs and I just like this
Starting point is 00:28:46 doesn't make any sense what am I doing? I got I put together a party mix and I was listening to it over the week I was some friends and like Leonard Cohen came up there like what the fuck is wrong with you I don't know how to party I don't know how to like, I don't like happy music, I like sad miserable music. They may my miserable people. I do like that great adventure ad if that's what you're referencing. So are you guys ready to move on to the ratings portion? The ratings portion? I'm trying something new.
Starting point is 00:29:25 No, I liked that. Do it again, I liked it. The ratings portion. So you guys ready to move on to the ratings portion? Ratings. Do you want to go first? Yeah, I'll go first. I feel, I shouldn't feel bad. It's fine. I'm going to give this movie a two. I really did not like this movie. I was really bummed about it. Like, it could have been so much better. And I realize it was like, it was at a low point for horror. It was like at a low point in a lot of these actors' careers seemingly like. She still looks exactly the same though. Can we agree that she looked the same as she did in 16 candles? Yeah. It was a today. But like so they were either like coming up or coming down and like everyone nailed it, everyone did what they needed to do except for maybe huff po she was a little rough. the. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they were. they were like. She was a little rough but I kind of liked her honestly. She was just a badass office lady but she also had asthma which I thought you would relate to. She was hitting that inhaler too. Too many puffs too many puffs. Yeah I wanted I really like after watching the.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Yeah I wanted to mention to the trailer and the opening credits I wanted to mention were fantastic like they were they were the the the the the the the opening they were the opening they were the opening they were the opening they were the the the they were the the the the the their their their their tot only totting were tot. I was tot. I was tot. I was totting. I was their to be to be told. I was they were they were they were they were they were they were they were their. I was their. I was was was was was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. their. I was their their their their their their total. I was tot. I was tot. I was tota. I was tota. I was tota. I was tota. I was just just just just just. I was totea. I was tota. I was just. I was just. I was tota. I was tota. I was like oh this movie's gonna be fucking great because the opening was depressing and like the music was good. I love it I love it to be so sad. I just was swallow in that sorrow and and uh and the title credits were great and it was just like and like right after the title credits it was just like oh no this is garbage this is not something like I wanted to be watching but I watched it and like I tried to find some good stuff and there was good I mean Carol Kane like I just have a note that Carol Kane is fantastic like no matter what she's doing she was great like she was chew in the scenery when she needed to and she was sad when she needed to be and I really like that Eric Bogosian showed up because he's in one of my favorite movies and like he was the dad who what what was your favorite movie? What what? the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the what was what was what was what was what was what was what was the the the what was what was was like was like was like was like was like was like was like was like I was to to to to to the the the the the the the what was the what was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was I I I I I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was the to the the the the the the the the the the the the toda? I was today. I was today. I was the today. I was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the this really depressing movie. But yeah, I just I really didn't like this movie. I hope that I gave it a two and that's is that better than
Starting point is 00:31:29 what I gave the happening a two? I could not even tell you. But yeah I could check Jim's scattergraph. I put it on par with the happening like really yeah yeah yeah not as low as I know what she did last summer but but you can't see it right now but I'm making a really mad face I'm holding my head my hands it's a sad scene I would rather watch this movie again I would rather watch this movie again than watch I know what she did last summer again that helps that helps It's my Aluqada, Katie.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I don't think I felt as strongly about it as you did. I think I would give it a five. No, four and a half, sorry, four and a half taking that one. Because there were a lot of, I mean, like, there were moments in this movie where I was like, oh, holy shit. Like, when the camera panned over and the two Girl Scowls were dead on that armchair, I like lost my shit. That was like a really good visual image.
Starting point is 00:32:31 And just like her windexing and mopping someone's insides. I really like that. I liked Carolekine a lot. I just feel like so much ended up on the cutting room floor that I couldn't make thin make thage thage think think thin make thin thin make thin thin thin thin thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' make sense of things. Yeah, I'm going four and a half. And Kelly? I'm going to give it a six. Yeah, made it over the hump. I still don't know if I'm going to apologize to you. Please don't. I don't think I need to. You know, not having seen it before suggesting that we watch it, it certainly had more promise. Yeah, for sure. I think that's why I rated it so poorly. It had such promise.
Starting point is 00:33:07 It was actually disappointing. Yeah. Instead of just bad. Yeah. But I liked a lot about it visually. And I agree, Carol Kane is great. I think maybe I wish it was either scarier or funnier and it ended up in this weird middle zone.
Starting point is 00:33:23 But I think visually there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi that's a that's a that's middle zone but I think visually there's a lot that I liked about it and I kind of liked the weird tone I did want more but I think yeah I liked it probably better than both of you that's okay it is okay it's okay it's okay I like I know you did last summer I'm good shit I love garbage I love garbage movies just like last week's I'm you did last summer. I'm good shit. I love garbage. I love trashy garbage movies. Yeah. Just like last week's... I'm just kidding. I wish I had brought something that was actually scary to a horror movie. I feel weird about that. Interestingly, most of our guest episodes have not brought terribly scary movies. No. I bet anything. Oh, Blair Witch. Yeah. Freight, no. Fright, Mary. It was. It was scary, but for different reasons,
Starting point is 00:34:12 it was. It was scary in a way that I literally went home and scrub my body. Silkwood shower movie. And Godfans or Indian flats was like a commercial? I don't know what that was. So you're really at the top tier of scary in terms of of of of of of of the thea thea thea to thea thea thea thea. S thea. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.... I..... Yeah................. Yeah..... Yeah.. Yeah.... Yeah. Yeah... the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thethat was. So you're really at the top tier of scary in terms of guest episodes. Yeah, I agree that the two little girls being dead was like that was a creepy moment. The basement was scary. Yeah. I think if it had like 75% of the movie in the basement with windexing bodies. And like the flickering TV which is just like a sound garden TV which is just like a sound. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the flicker. the flicker. the flicker. the flicker. the the flicker. the flicker. the flicker. the flicker. the flicker. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. two little little little little little little little little two little two little two two that's so totally 90s is like the flipping tea the broken TV is like the image of the 90s. They were like flies buzzing on the TV which is weird because they're dead bodies of the room so why are they out the TV? Yeah they should be on the but it was a great image yeah yeah that's also a very much a sound garden yeah yeah this is just black whole saw it all over again. Everyone loves that video.
