Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, and welcome to another episode of Warwulf ambulance. I'm Katie and I'm here with my friend Alan. Hi, Alan. Hello, Katie. How are you? I'm doing really well on yourself? Doing pretty good. Excellent. We slipped right back into that. It worked out well. I think it's the only thing we know. Oh, God. It's the only thing I can trust it anymore. It's all there is. It's all there is.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Is that intro? It's like a warm glove for our, uh... Warm glove sounds gross. Oh, that's right. Yeah. wet latex glove. It's the cool side of the pillow for our listeners. That's nice. That's nice. Yeah. That's just reassuring for them. Hey guys, how are you? This we could do this whole episode in NPR voices. Oh. Do you want to try that? I think I'll just get real creepy soon? Yeah, you've already kind of crossed that line. Oh, sweet Jesus. Speaking of real creepy soon. Yeah, you've already kind of crossed that line. Oh sweet Jesus.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Speaking of real creepy, this week we watched the craft, 1996, which thriller, fantasy, horror mashup, I would say. Yeah. Which? It did not have that good of a soundtrack. It had some good jams on the soundtrack. It was so 1996 and I loved every minute of it. All right, let me just get the, the, really c-tree--t. This the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th.ams on the soundtrack. It was so 1996 and I loved every minute of it. All right, let me just get the shitty asshole out of the way. Go for it. So I was totally checked out of pop culture in 1996 because I was just punk and I just would have been super punk. So subversive. Yeah, yeah, just whatever. I just wanted to listen a squirt gun. And so like this movie just totally. I. I. I. I. I. I the the the the the the the th. I I I the th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, whatever, whatever, whatever, I was, I was, whatever, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just wanted the the the the th. I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, I was just, whatever. I was just, whatever. I was just, whatever. I wanted the the the the the the the the the the the the s. Just, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, like this movie just totally, I missed it. I missed the boat. And like, most of the bands, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:01:48 who the fuck are these bands? Like, meanwhile, I was 12 and believed strongly that I could probably be a witch if just like I found the right group of girls. You need your, your directions. Yeah. Yeah. Someone has to call the guardians the guardians the guardians the guardians to the guardians to call the guardians to call to call to call the guardians to call to call to call to to the guardians to to to to to to the guardians to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes. directions. Yeah. Someone has to call the guardians of the other watchtowers. You know what I mean? Like, I can't do them all.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Oh man, Witchcraft is so corny, I love it. There was like, I loved this movie. And I think a lot of women my age love this movie because it was just really, it was really formative, I think. But there were moments in watching it where I was embarrassed like of the chanting and the things they said. I was like, oh, this seemed better to me. But I can totally imagine girls in high school just like eating that shit up with a fucking fork. It was like you maybe went to the library and looked at a book on Wicca and then realized
Starting point is 00:02:40 this wasn't really what you were doing with your life, you know. I also thought that this movie was, I was like, oh man, this is probably Katie's Lost Boys. This is probably like, because I remember watching the Lost Boys and just be like, well, I just want to be a vampire in California now, like, that's what I want to do. Yeah, probably. Yeah, probably. I had really sweet, permed mullet and ride around on a motorcycle. I just wanted Big Bangs. Pressed ahead of a headband. I remember like trying that look and being like, this is not working.
Starting point is 00:03:12 I don't have this. So how do we get into this? Like, my notes are fucking ridiculous. Yeah, the first three notes I have are basically about Breck and Meyer, who appears the beginning of this movie. This movie th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, thi, thi, threrea. And, threa. And, threaugh, threa, threa, threa, threa, thi. I thi. I thi, I th beginning of this movie. He's also, this movie was, came out the same year as Clueless, and he was also in Clueless. Okay. The skater guy. Oh, that's where I knew that to it from.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like, he has this line. He does not suck in Clueless. He's actually, he's a line. No, no was like, oh, I really thought that wasn't clueless. But it's not. Something, uh...
Starting point is 00:03:50 It's the same movie. Former President George Bush also said. Oh, really? You're kidding me. No, he referred to people speaking Mexican. Yeah. Yeah, that's the same terrible thing. So this guy this's the same. That's the same terrible thing. So this guy with a shitty surfer haircut could have been president. Weird. So this is a movie about high school.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And how bad it sucks, which seems to be a running theme in these movies. That's really getting me down. Yeah. Well, it makes me feel good because I'm 31. 31, coincidentally the same age as Rochelle, the actress who played Rochelle in this movie, she is my age. In the movie, she was your age. I mean, at the time that she played, that she played Rochelle High School Junior, presumably.
Starting point is 00:04:32 She was my age currently. That's one thing about this movie is that usually when there's a, like Dylan from Nany Lane. No, no, no, no, different type period. The guy who busted his head open in Mandy Lane, like, looked like he was 35. Yeah. But like none of the people in this movie looked excessively elderly from this. No, I think that, I think that Nev Campbell and Robin Tunney and Feruzabalk were all like 21 maybe.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Okay. Rochelle was literally like 10 years older. Look fantastic. Oh, yeah. Still looks fantastic now. Also, she has no lines for the first like 25% of this movie. She literally just stands there. So that's good. So basically this movie is about three teenage outcasts who meet up with their fourth to make a coven. The fourth being like a new girl who has a dark past,
Starting point is 00:05:25 I guess, shown to us through weird flashbacks. And they get into some witchcraft and it spirals out of their control. Right. Would you say that's fair? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. That is an excellent summation. So basically they each try to like cast a spell for something that they want. Nev Campbell, Bonnie, has these burn scars all over her back. Was that ever explained? Yeah, she was in a fire. Oh, somehow. No, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I mean, no, the ginger burrs. I assumed she was in a fire. Yeah, I didn't know where the burn scars were from the farm. I thought maybe that's that that that that that that that that, these burn scars that I got from that farm. Just a blaze, just a blaze. So she cast a spell to make herself beautiful to get rid of these scars. And then she goes through a gene therapy, which was totally disturbing.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Yeah. It seemed like something you could get a local anesthetic for. You know? Like, why was, why did she have to feel that? Yeah, it looked like a, yeah, like she was having like a combination spinal tap tattoo go over. Yeah, I was, yeah, I was thinking like a sewing machine and a tattoo. I remember watching this movie and being like, gene therapy, that's not real. It's totally real. Yeah, she goes through the therapy for the Burns and what did everybody, everyone else wish, the new girl.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Uh, Sarah. Sarah, wish that a Skeet Ulrich would not be a dick? Well, here's what's weird, because he'd already been a dick to her and then she casts a love spell on him because she's like, I know it's pathetic but I just can't get over him, which he's like, no, you should get some self-esteem se se Told the whole school that he fucked her and she was terrible. Yeah, on her like her third day of school and a new school. Um, also Skeet O'Rick's real name is Brian Ray Trout. Brian with a Y. This is, this is your internet movie database.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I was watching this movie on, um, the internet's, and I wasn't sure if like, like, So the the film the film the film the film the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. he. he he's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. th. th I wasn't sure if like shit was missing because like yeah so the film starts off where she's the new girl in school Sarah and so Skeet and and Skied and her went on a date and I was like when did this get set up? They're just out on a date and like and they're all snuggly bugly and like, there is a setup of them talking at lunch I think. There is a setup of them tha talk talk th talking th talking th talking th talking th talking th talking th talking th talking tha thin tham thin tham thin thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi. thi. thi. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi. So thi. So thi. So thi. So thi. So thi. So theeateat theat theat. So. So. So. So theat theateate. So. So the film the film the film this get set up? They're just out on a date and they're all snuggly bugly and like... There is a setup of them talking at lunch I think. Right when she goes and watches him at the football game afterwards. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all that happens. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Okay, so, okay, everything was legit on my, yeah. I think so. I mean, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. that the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th is th is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th way of explaining things to you. Yeah. Okay. And then Rochelle is the third witch? Yes. I forget which direction she was. It matters not. She is on the diving team and is being totally bullied by Melody from Hey Dude. And it's bullshit. You mean Marcia Brady from the Brady Bunch movie. Sure, sure. Who said some amazing racist shit?
Starting point is 00:08:30 Like, you say it. You've been waiting to say it. Well, she says that she doesn't like Negroids. Negroids. Why are you all time racist? Negroids. This is so weird. In Los Angeles. Yeah, it was, it was like the movie just took a turn there and was like,
Starting point is 00:08:46 whoa, what the fuck? What's happening? Yeah, because I don't like negroids. Super waspie. What? Yeah. So Rochelle wishes to not hate her, which comes back in a way that doesn't seem right. Her spell is to give her the strength to not hate those who hate her, which istotally reasonable, totally legit. And it just spirals from there in like a very disturbing scene. It gets very monkeys paw. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:10 And then the fourth is Nancy played by Feruzza Balk who... On 11 the entire movie? Yeah, she's fantastic. Out of control. Just so good. If she wasn't doing rails right before every take, it'd be furised. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to th. to th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. thi. to to to to to to to to to to to thi. It's thi. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi thi to to to thi thi to thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th surprised. So many teeth, too. She was so jazzed. She's, yeah. How did she have that many teeth in her head? I don't mean that in a mean way.
Starting point is 00:09:32 No. She says a lot of them. So she, her spell is to have all the powers of Mano, who is, is that real? Is that real? I don't know. I that that that that th, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is the the the the the, is, is, is, is, is the, is, is, is, is the, is, is, is, is, is, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. to. to. th. to. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. th. th. that real? I don't know. I've never heard of it before. I didn't look it up or anything. It was absurd. Who's everything? He's the air. He's the sand.
Starting point is 00:09:51 I don't know. I don't remember. He was the god before there was a god. Oh, thing like. Well, and all you have to do is a wish for the powers and you get them. You go at them. So it was a really great scene though where they snuck off into the woods or down to the beach and all that stuff and it was really, it was really fun. I was like oh man I want to, I would do that. Yeah, totally. It seemed like a fun thing to do. Yeah. I mean everything they do seem fun. There's like a sleep over where they're playing light as a feather stiff as a board, which I've never seen work, but like everybody has a cousin who's seen it happen.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Yeah, I remember trying it at high school and yeah, much like the Ouija board, never came to fruition. We never did get in toucest with Cliff Burton. What do you want him to tell you? Just about stick-based. Just like, can you just like mouth base? Yeah, I do today, Cliff Burton. Yes, I would. Yeah, it was after they put all their wishes out into the ether that they played light as a feather, right?
Starting point is 00:10:56 Yeah, so they like get together in the woods and they prick their fingers and they probably all get hepatitis because they rubbed their blood. And that's when they cast their spells and all these butterflies show up and that's how you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you their you their you their you their you their you their you know you know you know you know you know th. their you know th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. their their th. their their. their. their. th. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. to wrote the blood, drink each other's blood. And that's when they cast their spells and all these butterflies show up and that's how you know that the spells have worked. Mono makes a really, really beautiful entrance. Yeah, very nature, very nature oriented. Oh, here's a good line that describes what Nancy's spell was. It was Rochelle saying, I think she just doesn't want to be white told her, you're white, honey, just deal with it. Which is probably the best line in the movie. So basically, the middle of the movie, all of Act 2 is showing you how being a witch is truly every teen girl's dream come true.
Starting point is 00:11:37 The best of the best. The best of the best. The best of the best. Like everything awesome. Shitty, fucking punchy stepdad dies. Yeah, leaving leaving th. L leaving th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. thi. thi. tho. thoom. thoom. thoom. thoom. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. to. to. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa.. Yeah, leaving them $175,000. Not a lot of money. Not a lot of money. Was it a lot of money in 96?
Starting point is 00:11:49 I mean, I guess it is a lot of money to them. It's a lot of money to get it one time. Yeah. Yeah, you've not. It's gone. In Los Angeles, no. the apartment and a couch. Yeah, and the two bucks that played only Connie Francis records. Yeah, it was a... I kind of wanted to party with Nancy's mom to be honest with you. Connie Francis. Oh man, she was, she was something special. Shitty stepdad dies. Skeet O'Rick is all about about it with Sarah. Yeah. A fantastically annoying level.
Starting point is 00:12:24 No one can help me. I love him. Nev gambles, burn scars start to go away. Yeah. Also a really reasonable thing to wish for it to not have burn scars all over your back. I think that's totally legit. I was bummed too because she was like, I just want to be beautiful. I'm like girl you're totally beautiful, even with those bones covered. Well, they like made her ugly by having her have greasy, center parted hair. Yeah, exactly. She just clenched over like, ah, I have to wear big sweaters and have greasy hair. And I said, oh, that's, I did that in high school too.
Starting point is 00:12:53 It's fine. Are you saying you are beautiful in high school? Yeah. All of. Marsha Brady. OK. A melody from Hey Dude, which I feel like my generation knows her better us. All of her hair starts falling out. And it's super gross. I remember the scene where she's sitting in the shower in the locker room, just pulling it out with her hands and going, it just keeps falling out. I remember being like, that's the worst thing that can happen to a person. Her scalp was all scatty. Yeah and that was all like sticking between her
Starting point is 00:13:27 fingers and like a white hair. That's pretty good. And it was it was very very monkeys fault you now feel compassion for her. But that's not what she asked for. She didn't ask for anything bad to happen to her. No but she asked to not to not hate her to to tho to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to the to to to to to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be. to be to be. to be to be. to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to tho. too. the the tooooooooooooooooo. tooo. too. too. toe. to to to to to to to to to to to to hate her so now she felt compassion for her life was. It seems, it seems, uh, fuck you, Minnow. Well, as we see, Mino is a big dick. Yeah, totally a dick. Because when they go to ramp up their powers, kills a bunch of fucking sharks. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Really bunked me out. Yeah, that was really sad. Majestic man-eating animals had to die for this. And also, yeah, I don't know. I also feel like my high school friends could have never put that much time or effort into anything. No follow-through. No, like, they were working so hard at it. So they have this like crazy beach ceremony thing.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. And, maybe a mass? Yeah. Do you know that just from, Mass, maybe a mass? Yeah. Do you know that just from, um, from heavy metal. From heavy metal. And in the morning, I guess they all wake up. Yeah. Well, three of them wake up and Farozovok is walking on the water out of the ocean, which was awesome.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Nobody freaked out by it. No, they were just, they like looked scared but weren't like, hey, you're walking on water. Hey, what's going on? There was a lot of shit in this movie that no one said hey that I would have definitely said hey to. They just really, they were in so deep, you know? They really accepted that guy being run over by the truck who's running down the street with a snake as just nothing. Oh yeah, he died. He died, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's just, he's just, he's just, he's just, he's just, he's th. thi, he's just, he's just, he's th. they they they they they they they were, they were, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they th. they th. they they they they they they they's, he, he, he, he, he's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they're they're they're they're they're just, he's just, he's just, he's just, thi. they're thean. they're thean. they're they're thean. they're they're just they're just thean. they're mean that's the point, isn't it, that they're like...
Starting point is 00:15:07 They're terrible teenagers. The terrible teenagers. At the beach scene is kind of where you see that Nancy is off the deep end. Yeah, totally crazy. Believe I have the note, Verruca salt lost her mind. Verruc a Ball. Oh, Frucuzon. That's good. I like that. Also in that scene I have the note, lip liner. Oh yeah. There's a lot of lip liner in this movie.
Starting point is 00:15:29 It's really prominent. Is this a, this is around the time that I figured out that Nev Campbell was Canadian? Sorry. Sorry! She was ttoo. I don't understand why. She was stealing Neff Campbell's story. You think so? Yeah, she's a story thief. Yeah. Yeah, Neff Campbell's so good.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Throughout the whole movie, Skidolk is sort of chasing down Sarah and won't leave her. And it culminates with him basically trying to rape her. Uh, I forgot about that scene. It's a no good. She just kick him in the balls and run away. And Feruzabal finds him at a party at Trey's house, which is like a place you can only go in the 90s is Tray's house. And kills him. Well yeah, because we've set up earlier that they can do this like transforming themselves to look different.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Like Sarah is, she has the best magical power. She's a natural witch. Yeah, well we see her earlier earlier earlier earlier film, she's got a pencil standing on at the point and spinning, which led me to say she's Creskin, because it's a pretty amazing trick. So she at one point is, like, changing her hair color to blonde, where someone yells, you look like Lonnie Anderson? Yeah, is that a thing that a girl in high school in 1996 would thiiii 96 96 96 96, then 96, then, thiiii 96, thi 96, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, because, because, because thi, because thi, because thi, because th. That's a th. It's a th. Yeah, thi, because thi, thin, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th, th, because th, because th, because th, because th, because th, because th, because th, because th, because th, because th. th. th. th. th. It is a th. It is a th. It's, th. It's, th. It's, thi, thi, the, the, the, the? thea, thr-a, thr-auui? thr-auiiiiiiiiiiii. theaui. theaui, thr. Yeah, I'm not sure who this movie was written by, but I'll look into it. A 45-year-old man. So they all have practiced this. And Fruzabulk changes her appearance to look like Sarah
Starting point is 00:16:56 so that she can bone down Skeet Ulrich in a real weird scene. Yeah, flipping the script. Yeah, it doesn't make it okay No, it does not Yeah, this guy has written just about nothing else worthwhile except a single episode of MacGyver back in 88 The director is not directed anything like oh man. He directed the movie dick. Oh, he wrote flatliners. I guess that was a movie people. Oh, yeah, that's a pretty dope movie. Yeah, well, whatever. I mean, how many movies have I written? Oh, th. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, that? Oh, that? Oh, that? Oh, that. that. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he that that that that that th. Oh, he th. th. Um, Star Wars. Yeah. Yeah. Critically panned. So yeah, Ferruz a book, whatever her character's name. Nancy.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Changed her appearance. In the room with the dude. He's so drunk, he's drinking beer out of like a takeout container that you get from a Chinese, from like a Thai restaurant. He's also dressed like a juggle. Yeah, well it's 96, the lines are blurry. There was a lot of clowns in his outfit. I did notice, it was, and there was a scene where he's laying on the bed, I was trying to figure out if it was actually an ICP t-Tee shirt, but they never cut far enough enough back, or not to see it. His hat had some like gesturey thing on too. I'm assuming it was like some skateboarder thing or something. Down with a clown. Were they around in 96? I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:18:10 The great Malinco came out in 97. Oh shit. A riddle box was 95, ringmaster 94. Yeah. Yeah. Carnival of carnage was 92. That's a seminal. I see P. work. So gross. Dark carnival. Whoop-woo! This is also the rainiest Los Angeles has ever been. You're throwing up some sort of hands like they'll sort of. Just the wicked clown. Do you live a secret hatchet man tattoo? No, I just was a juggler for Halloween two years ago, so I learned all of the things. You learned all of their culture.
Starting point is 00:18:46 I also grew up with a juggler, so these things happen. Wow. Do they? Should they? Well, I would come home from school and like my brother and his friends would be in the front yard wearing clown face paint, you know? Wow. Just do enough. Just do enough. I guess no different. I guess. thi I. thi. th. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi tho tho tho thi thi tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the the the thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the thi thi did. I don't know. I don't mind jugglers. They're right. Everybody's got to be something. Everybody's got to be something. What were we talking about? A movie or something? First bulk being gross and sexually assaulting this dude. Yeah. Oh after he's because he's drinking so much beer out of take-out containers. So they go to the bone zone and Sarah busted in on them. Fully clothed. They're just dry-humping. Yeah. Well, it was high school. I know. They could have the dry bones.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Yeah. And Sarah busts in on them and breaks it up. And then Farooka, Faruza, Faruka. What's her nancy? Nanchue. Push is, push the ski and this girl makes this like blood curdling scream, which I really liked. So he's dead and Sarah feels responsible for it and she lays around crying for a while
Starting point is 00:19:51 wearing overalls. The ultimate in sadness wear. I, yeah, a real question that I asked during this movie is, am I too old for overalls? Nope. The answer was resoundingly yes. If you're sad though you can keep you can keep all the tissues in the pocket right in front. Just put her in. Oh. And maybe you're fro. We have been told that Sarah tried to commit suicide.
Starting point is 00:20:10 And that's why they moved away from San Francisco. Right, with a butter knife. Was it a butter knife? That's what she said. some problem with like snakes and bugs. Yeah. She's really not into them. No, who is? Gross. So after Skeet O'Rick's death, she starts to feel like they're taking it too far. People have died. And Nancy disagrees with her and they like basically turns their backs on her. Because teen girls always fucking bullying, you know? There's always going to be like every group of girls thinks the case. Yeah, it's bullshit.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Anyway. The seepies have really conjured up a lot of feels. Well, yeah. So the last act basically is a showdown, magic, magic. I shouldn't say magic, powers, witches, which powers, which magic? Yeah, yeah, they were having like a wizard fight in the house. Yeah, yeah, in Sarah's house where they, the other girls have convinced Sarah that her parents, her father and stepmother were killed in a plane cash.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Yeah, because they can, they can conjure up whole television programs. Yeah, that's cool. The th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. tho th. th. th. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes. thoes. thoes. thoes. thoes. thoes. thoes. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. theee theeeeeeeea. theea. theaa. thea. thea. they were they were they were they were thea. they were they were thea cool. I'm pretty into that. God, the television programs I would conjure if I could. Just new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries. Yeah. Yeah, come back, Robert Stack. Come back to us. So bad. They basically are trying to get her to kill herself. And they've written a suicide note for her.
Starting point is 00:21:41 And it just says in like it's handwritten but in like size 48 font. I killed Chris I'm sorry Sarah. A plus suicide note. So good. It's to the point. Yeah, like this is this is it. They did not even think about it. Didn't blame anybody else. No. Parents will feel fine. Yeah. I'm sorry. This is basically Nancy's show going after Sarah because the other two of which is kind of take off after they feel like it's gone too far. They also feel it's gone too far now Nancy has just gone off the rails. Well they're participating in this, remember they're all levitating in her living around? Right, but then like it hits a certain point and it's just Nancy and Sarah. Because they have that
Starting point is 00:22:17 scene where they've like also consulted with this woman who owns a witch book book book book book book book book book that everything they cast will come back three times on them. And Rochelle and Bonnie look in the mirror and see like all of Rochelle's hair has fallen out and Bonnie's face is covered in scars, which was great. Yeah, that move scene really. That movedrew me out as a teen. Oh really? Yeah, there's earlier in the movie. thua. thua. thua. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to.... to.... the. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. R............................................................................ she after she sees Marsha Brady losing her hair, the hey dude lady. And that's on. She's like standing next to the mirror and she moves and then
Starting point is 00:22:53 like a second later to the shadow moves with her. Oh really? Or the share of the reflection. Yeah I miss that. So they run out of the house and then it's just Nancy and Sarah. Right. But before that before they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they have. that. that. that. the their. their. their. their. their. their. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. Are. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the. the. the. the. the. the house and then it's just Nancy and Sarah. But before that, they have created this like an illusion of like everything being covered in snakes and bugs. It's really good. And rats. And rats. Yeah, like there's like a snake coming out of the faucet or in the bathroom, which is haunting.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Yeah, there were so many snakes. Or at least they were moving around a lot of the hats. Yeah, there there there there there there there there there the the the the the their their their their their they they they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah they were like pressed against the windows and I loved it. Yeah super good. Yeah that was really nice set dressing on that and really gross and there was like scorpions and the sink and stuff like the fuck yeah I ran out of regular bugs you just had to get wicked on the stuff not not regular bugs. No worms. Oh yeah when the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. the they. the the the the the the they. the the the the the the the the the the the the when the the toilet is overflowing with worms. Yeah. And then I said about peeing in that toilet and I felt really uncomfortable. I don't know because this is you look at a toilet don't you think about? No, what do you think about? Nothing that's a toilet. No, that's where you pee out of those worms. Yeah I got a pee out all those worms. Yeah it was like to to to to to to to the to to the to to the to the to the to the to the to the the the to the the the the th. I the the th. I was the the the the the the the the th. Oh I was the th. I was th. Oh I was th. Oh I was th. Oh I was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, I was t. Oh, I was tea. I was tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. I tea. I tea. I tea. I tea. I t. I too like it was kind of right. Yeah it was going up and down
Starting point is 00:24:05 They were moving as one. Yeah Into your pee hole. You just scoop out the way. Oh God. That's why it's upsetting. That's why it's upsetting because they can get into your pee tell. You just get running with it. I don't know I'm sorry. Yeah I was like turlet full of worms, all right, I'm done. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:25 What if you had to poop? It was a big house, I guess it's probably another bathroom. It was a gorgeous house, yeah. Also, she's acting this entire scene in a rib turtleneck, which I felt was probably extremely uncomfortable. It was weird. It was not. It was a weird fashion choice. Yeah. I mean, I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. It was a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. It was thi. It was thi. It was a thi. It was a thii. It was a thiiiiiiiiii. It was a th. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It're a Catholic high school but yeah. So they're sort of having like a showdown of their powers and Sarah makes Nancy's hand turn into a snake which was way less cool than I remember actually.
Starting point is 00:24:58 And then there's snakes coming out of both hands and then like her hair has snakes in them and like that was okay. The whole time Nancy is the one who is on the offensive. She's just going after Sarah and going after her and she finally yells, why aren't you using magic on me? And Sarah tried to bind her earlier, which just several times, the binding spell is clearly garbage, it's not working. Yeah. When Sarah finally unleashes her powers, like they're far beyond what Nancy can do.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Yeah. Yeah, the CGI in your hands and snakes was really silly. I remember that being scary and then when it happened I was like, oh. It was fun. It was fine. It was fine. So this then she binds Nancy and seemingly drives her insane. Yeah. With this binding. And then it turns out that neither of the other two
Starting point is 00:25:47 have any more powers, but Sarah still has powers. And I guess they're moving back to San Francisco? Like, I guess so? Very, like just her dad not work? I don't know. Must be loaded though. That was a hell of a house. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:58 And he could just be like,, she doesn't have any powers either. And then she like conjures up a storm real quick. They're just like, what? Yeah, has like a lightning bolt strike a tree branch and nearly murder them. Yeah, which is good. They had it come in. I wondered if Nev Campbell's scars came back. After the scars came off, everything was slee Hugh Heavner's pajamas. Yeah like a silk high neck kimono long sleeve kind of thing I don't know. So I wonder if her her... maybe her gene therapy just worked
Starting point is 00:26:33 though it's true although the doctor was like mmm I can't be that worked well when they were peeling off the scars it just looked like when they were they were peeling the scars it just look like they they they they they they the they the they the the the they the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th them off with a squeegee, which I really liked. It was really fun. This is a fun moving. Yeah, so that's our loose wrap of LeCraft. I mean, like you've probably seen it at this point right. Although it was extremely difficult to find on the internet. I bought it on Amazon, so I now own it, which is a thing I needed to own. Let's say that that that that that that that that th say th say th say th say th say th say th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th that that that that that that is a that is a that is a th. Yeah, that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a th. That's a th. th. That's a th. Yeah th. Yeah th. Yeah th. Yeah th. Yeah th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's a th. Yeah. That's a th. That's a th. Yeah. That's a th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. that's a thi. that's a th. that's a that's a th. th. th. th. th. th. th.to own. Let's say that I bought it too. Wink! You can find it.
Starting point is 00:27:07 So yeah, I'm interested to the, like I said, I kind of compared this to the Lost Boys for me. Because that movie had a profound effect on me. It had a great soundtrack and it was like, it was so rock and roll 1986, like, teenage angst movie, like, and I felt like, oh got to be a similar thing for Katie like this movie is so 1996 high school outsider girls who you always knew you had it in you you know yeah so yeah so yeah Did you watch this movie a bunch anywhere I must have yeah because I there were like parts where I remember the exact lines of like it was just a feeling feeling that this could be you if only you found like the right people, and also if your boobs would just bounce a little bit more like Sarah's do. Holy smokes.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yeah, a lot of bouncing boobs, like slow-mo bouncing boobs. There was the slow-mo bouncing boobs and I was like, this is making me uncomfortable because he's supposed to be high school kids and it's just I'm 41 years old should I be watching this is weird. Rochelle was only 10 years younger than you. You know it really is witchcraft was for a while there every girl's dream come true. It was your ticket to popularity and power and like people not fucking with you so. Well it also has sort of a nice like you've got it inside you all along yeah you're a natural witch maybe. It. I I I I I I the like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like. I I I I the the the the to. I to. I the the the the the to. I the. I'm. I'm. I'm. th. th. th. th. to. th. th. th. I'm. I'm. this. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm th. I'm th. th. I'm th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm th. Maybe you're, maybe I'm a natural witch and I don't know it. Right. Like my mom's not dead so I pretty am sure she's not a witch. I mean Sarah didn't know that her mom was a witch. Right, there's the reveal that Sarah's dead mother was a witch
Starting point is 00:28:34 when the photograph she's looking at turns it looks good point because I bet J.K. Rowling totally saw this movie. Yeah, she stole all of her ideas from other places. Oh really? I don't know much about Harry Potter to be honest with you. Oh, okay. What else did she steal from? Oh, like, oh. Oh, that. So Katie, should we move on to the ratings phase? Sure. Do you know what you want to give this movie? I think I do, but I would like you to go first for this one. I am, this was important to me and I was pleased that it held up so well like the snake scene was still terrifying. I thought it was still really engaging even the parts of like the part where they they they they they they they were they were they were they were the the their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. I. S. S. S. I. S. S. S. S. S. S. I. S. S. I. I. I. th. th. t. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the parts of like the part where they're all sitting around chanting like one is channing earth and one is channing air air air water water water I was like this is so embarrassing
Starting point is 00:29:31 I can barely look at the TV maybe think of a on the 36 chambers woo tang record when they're just all going woo woo woo woo woo and I always wanted to see footage from the studio of them doing that. Yeah. Just like a gang vocal into a microphone. But yeah. Air, air, air, water, water, water, fire, earth, earth. I like felt like I had to look away. But other than that, I think it really does hold up. I'm giving it an eight.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Oh, nice. Loved it. I love it. I love it. Continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue continue to to continue. to continue continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to continue to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi. thi. the. the. the. the the. the the the the the the the the the theat. the the the the the their fire, not even sorry I spent that money on it. I'm going to give it an 8 for every dollar I spent to purchase it on the Amazon Prime. Yeah, it was $8 everywhere. Yeah, nobody had a discounting on this. There's no rental, that was a thing. Yeah, so whatever belongs to me now. I would give this movie a seven. Okay. I'm surprised. I really thought you were really to be like, ah, about it. No, I think it had a lot of really positive things going for it.
Starting point is 00:30:25 The acting was great. Yeah, everyone was competent. Skeeter hooks seems like a real dufous, but I don't know him from anything either. No. Well, he's a scream. He's in the scream, he's in the painting by Edward Moon. Alan just mimicked it. But yeah, he seems like a real duller to help. I thought Breckenmeyer was actually really great. When you did that scene of like, no, she's gonna cry, and I'm gonna cry,
Starting point is 00:30:48 we're all gonna cry. I really liked that. I really think he was good. Such a shithead. You just want to punch him in his little five foot four face. But I felt like, it was cool to see a cast of women doing that stuff and like it was it was really interesting like it was fun. I had really good time watching it.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Good I'm glad. I was worried. No, no, no, no. No, no, no. No, no. I would be like a 12-year-old girl in my life, like a niece or something. Okay, a child, not like a girlfriend. Sweet Jesus, I can't say anything. I should be doing my girlfriend, then we went roller skating.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Had everyone by eight. Oh, I do want to mention, everybody fucking smokes so much. Yeah, I had a lot, you know, when attractive people smoke in movies, I get really like, I wish I still smoked. And I had a really hard time during this movie. I just kept thinking, oh, they're all so stinky. It's just a stinky movie. No, they're all so beautiful and cool, detached. Nev Campbell looked really awkward when she was doing a like straight fingered
Starting point is 00:31:58 smoking. I don't think Neff Campbell really smokes, yeah. Oh, smoking. I like the scene where Nancy and her mom are talking to the insurance guy, I guess, who's telling them about the benefit, the death benefit, and they're both just sitting on the couch smoking. Like, I really like that. But like two feet from the dude's face. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Just smoking. . In a trailer, it was great. Oh, God, I love smoking. You wanna go get some cigarettes? Yeah. Yeah. Smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, the earth, water. Woo, woo, woo. So Katie, next week.
Starting point is 00:32:35 We're doing Candyman. We're doing Candyman. We're finally graduating from high school. Into the real world of research into poverty. God, I haven't seen it in th th th tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha the the tha tha tha the tha tha thate the to to to to to to to to toe toe toe. toe. God, I'm so stoked to do this movie. Yeah, I haven't seen it in a couple years, but I know that I saw it a couple years ago. I don't know what I was gonna say there. I have a lot of thoughts in this movie.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Oh, do you? Oh, do you? Oh, yeah. So yeah, watch Candyman. Is it on Netflix? Oh, I love when things are on Netflix. I need to pay for that. All the leprecon movie. Or maybe it's on, it might be on, it's on one of the streaming services. It might be Hulu or Amazon. I don't have a Hulu. Oh, can I have your password?
Starting point is 00:33:11 I got you, girl. Also, all the lepr whatever. I kind of want to watch the in the hood one. I love iced tea. I know you and I differ on that that matter. Starting point is 00:33:48 I own it on DVD. It just recommended me, Candace Cameron, Candace and John Candy. Oh my God, I love that. We should edit this out so that nobody steals that. That is so good. Candyman. John Candyman. Just Uncle Buck matched with the That's so good.
