Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello! It's very Mr. Ed. It's that warble, that low warble, you know? And welcome to another episode of Werewolf Amulance. It's very Mr. Ed. Like, it's that warble, that low warble, you know? And welcome to another episode of Werewolf Amulance. That was good. I like that. I actually really like that. Home of the Terrible Intro. It's not terrible.
Starting point is 00:00:30 It's just, ugh. It's just the same intro. What are we going to say? What else is there to say? Don't know. It's dumb. We just need like a catchphrase, I think. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:42 We need need need need need need need need need need need something something th need something th need something th need need something good. I've been thinking about Wolfman Jack, the DJ from the 60s and 70s, who was like... Why would I know what that is? I've been thinking about Wolfman Jack. And he would howl a lot on the radio and stuff. And I was like, oh, do I need to work howling into the podcast? It's at the end though, isn't it? Oh, no, me howling. Oh, thi. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. Why, th. Why th. Why th. Why th. I's th. W. W. I's thi. W. I thi. W. I thi. W. W. I thi. W. I thi. W. thi. W. I th. once in a while. I don't, I don't think I can do it right now. Try it. It's hot in here. Yeah, too much effort. Oh, no, it's not gonna, it's terrible. Maybe we could just do like a crow noise, like, ah! Ah!
Starting point is 00:01:15 Ah! Ring Raith scream. Yeah! Oh, good good! How was that? Oh my God, that destroyed me. So this week we're here to talk about the 1988 film, Waxwork. Wax work. Katie's first suggestion for the podcast are finally getting around to it. When Alan was like, do you want to do a horror movie podcast? I was like, wax work. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:01:45 I don't know why it was the first thing that popped into my head, but here we are. And 36 episodes later, here it is. We sometimes you get to delay the gratification, you know? I had only seen this movie actually once before, and I watched it back to back with wax work to. Yes, which picks up, it was filmed like four years later, but it picks up right where the first movie leaves off, but has a different lead actress. Oh really? Yeah, just not even the same girl.
Starting point is 00:02:12 So Deborah Foreman is not in the re-element, or the second one? No. But Zach Elphinacus is definitely in there? You mean Billy from Gremlin? Yes. This will be a good place to just get this out of the way. Can I give you my favorite Deborah Foreman line from a film? Yes. Deborah Foreman, you guys might know from Valley Girl,
Starting point is 00:02:31 from Real Genius, from Waxwork. She was in a lot of 80s movies, and she's very adorable. Got that cute nose. This was a movie of people with button noses, which I don't really care for. And so that makes this line even more amazing for me. In real genius, someone is proposing that they have sex, her and Deborah Foreman and this fellow. And her question is, can you hammer a six-inch spike through a board with your penis?
Starting point is 00:02:59 And girls got to have standards. But imagine it delivered by little button-nosed Deborah Foreman. It's just that uncomfortable. Yeah. But for th for th for that, that, that, but for that, but for that it, but it, but it, but it, but it, but it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's that it's thi, thi's thi, thiomom- thiom- thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi's thi. thi's thi's thi's thi's thi. thi's thi's thi's thi means thi-a thi-ma thi-ma thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. thi. thi. thi.-nosed, Deborah Foreman. It's just that uncomfortable. Yeah. But for some reason. But it wasn't in this, I thought you were, sorry, I thought you were talking about a line in this movie. No, no, no, it's in real genius.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Yeah. Val Kilmer is the thrown. No. Jesus. He is. Have you seen them? He looks terrible. I hate to, you know. He was a, Batman. Not a particularly good Batman, but a Batman nonetheless. Wasn't he the last Batman before the most recent Batman. I think George Clooney was in the, wasn't it George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell and those weird nipples. It did have nipples.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Well anyway. . It did have nipples. Yeah. Well anyway. So yeah, waxwork. It's got a cavalcade of stars in it. Yeah, a lot of people you know from other things. Billy from Gremlins and that guy from that other thing who was in Titanic. Gimli? Gimli? Gimli? Gimli? Yeah, he's a little were a were. Oh, I'm just a warwish. Yeah. Oh, I'm just. John R. John Ries. Yeah. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. th. th. th. th. th. th when you said gimly. Oh yeah, that would be so refreshing right now. And David fucking Warner, I got so stuck to the David Warner. That's the guy from Titanic. It's David Warner in Titanic. Yeah. He's also in the Omen. He's in everything. He has like 250 credits. He's in Time Bandits. Yeah, he's fucking amazing. I love that dude. This is a pretty, I love thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi yeah, he's fucking amazing. I love that dude. This is a pretty, I love this movie. I really liked it. It's um.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I didn't know it was a comedy going into it. It's funny. It's funny. It better be or else they fucked up real bad. You know. Yeah, there's definitely some comedic scenes like where they're watching the football game and they're like making gorilla sounds and like that weird punching sound. So weird what's going on? And then later the zombies are making the same sound in the zombie scene. Yeah. So so strange. Watching that with subtitles was great.
Starting point is 00:04:55 When he's walking he's like shaking the hand off in the zombies and it just squishing and squealing noise because that's great. So this is sort of a mildly comedic, loving, sort of film that just celebrates horror films. Yeah. That's what it felt like to me. Once I got a handle on it, because at first I was like, you know, this is garbage. Why did you think that? Because I didn't know that it was supposed to be funny. I didn't know like... That scene at the beginning where he's like, but mom, I need the caffeine badly.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It didn't tip you off. No, no, not at first. It took me a couple minutes to get into it. And I was like, oh, okay. I get what they're doing here. Yeah. So basically, I guess they're in college. their college, they.
Starting point is 00:05:36 they, to assume now that college has lockers after it follows in this movie. It's not right. Maybe I'm wrong. There's a group of sort of waspy college students. Two women stumble upon wax work that they had just never noticed before. In the middle of the suburbs. Just in the middle of the suburbs. And they meet David Warner who invites them in. Yeah, is a real creep. Yeah, like at midnight that night. One of the women's name is China, which bolsters my theory that you should never trust a woman named after our country. She's not cool. She's really
Starting point is 00:06:16 playing Billy from Gremlins a lot. Are there other examples of women named after countries? I knew a girl named America who was not bar. There's no way that's true. Yes it is. Nut bar. America. Wow. She was not American to be fair. She was from somewhere in Latin America. Okay. China. Not good. She was just getting her. She had my favorite line in the movie. Which was which was, uh, hold on I wrote it. I do what I want when I want, dig it or fuck off? Fucking amazing. That should be on T-shirts. It's actually a backpiece tattoo that I'm working on.
Starting point is 00:06:50 And just a life goal. Yeah, it's great. But she really is not being very cool throughout this movie. Yeah. But the digget? The movie opens. The chip. Hoy song is playing? Do you remember the chips a Hoy song? There's like jaunty jazz and a man getting his fucking face shoved into a fireplace. Yeah. It's a good opener. So I feel like her
Starting point is 00:07:10 dig it was just like man I'm just keeping the jazz tones in this movie. Daddy-O. So she's like playing Billy from Gremlins. What is his name? Mark? Mark? What is his name? Mark? Mark? Yeah, Billy from Gremlins. Shark. he. Yeah. he. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the th. the th. th. the the th. the th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi, th. Yeah, the th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, the the the the the the the th. Yeah, the the the the th. Yeah, the th. Yeah, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the think? Mark? Yeah, the football player guy. No, Billy from Gremlins. Oh, yeah, Mark, I'm sorry. She's playing Mark against a football player guy. Yeah, Todd or Ron. He, in one point is wearing like a cutoff sleeve t-shirt that just says karate, which I was like, can I buy this shirt?
Starting point is 00:07:38 I couldn't tell if it said karate or carrot as in diamonds. Oh I feel like in that era would have been karate. It was like it was a hoodie that was sleeveless but like over the shoulder. Yeah. It was like very very late 80s. Sheik. I feel like the late 80s were a time that karate was cool. Karate kid and you know all that. Every kid I knew had a throwing star. Not that kind like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the the th. Yeah, no, no, and it was all under the it would all be karate You could be doing Kung Fu jiu jitsu that was all karate. Oh, just call it karate. Yeah, yeah, well yeah, no everybody had nuncheukes everybody had I that was a ninja turtle's I guess that was too early? I turtle. th? I that? I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. Yeah, I that. Yeah, I that that that that that. Yeah, I that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that. I that. I that. I would the that that the that thu. I that that th was too early, huh? Well, Ninja Turtles were around that time. Well, I don't know how old you. I don't know what it was like when you were growing up. Well, Katie, the dinosaurs. We had that hoop with a stick.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I would take my books to school with a belt around them. Why did people do that? Because there was the get to the waxwork really fast, like 15 minutes in, they're in that waxwork. Right, we meet Mark and he's a dickhead. You see, I liked him. He was a total comic. I like had such a thing for Billy from Gremlins, though, you know, as a kid. Yeah, but comparing and contrasting Billy from Gremlins and this waspy piece of shit. No, he's in this, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I's thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. piece of shit. No, this is Billy from Gremlins.
Starting point is 00:09:05 He's in this, no, he's in this movie now. This movie now? Billy lives here now. The thing that I really didn't like was when they opened the door of the Wax Works and the little person is there, the guy from Big Tup Hue. They like act like they don't want to to to to to to to to to to to Yeah, this movie could have used some 80s movie punks to want to hang out with a little guy. Yeah, he was pretty great though.
Starting point is 00:09:28 He was. So yeah, 15 minutes in, they're in the wax work and it is just basically a creepy wax museum of scenes of murders. Yeah, yeah. Like a matum two soes of murderers. Yeah, there is a place in Ontario, Canada right across it like in Niagara Falls right across the if you've been there the Hall of Fame of Criminals or whatever the Lacks is yeah pretty radd it's near the Ripley's
Starting point is 00:09:51 Museum and all that. Yeah yeah they have like Jeffrey Dahmer and yeah I was gonna say Ted Danson that is not his name. Sharing his cell. Ted Danson, get out of there! It's gonna eat you! Ted Bundy. I'm sorry, Ted Danson, I love you. So they get into the Wax Museum and Hans is the little person who comes and shows them in and beats the shit out of the giant dude that hangs out with them. Yeah, giant dude's awesome also, yeah. And then they're taken into the Waxworks, which as you said, is just real rogues gallery, the worst people.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Some fictional and some real, like Marquis de Sade is in there, and also Frankenstein's Monster. Yeah. And the first thing that really tips us off, that something is strange here is that Tony, I think his name is, who cares? Bobby from Twin Peaks. Yes, goes into one of the scenes and it's like, shak, shak, chak, electricity. The velvet rope drops and then you can just walk in. Yeah. He's in a werewolf-awelossie, weirded out by it he's like oh who put
Starting point is 00:11:07 acid in my drink again like wait I don't drink anymore yeah and then he's like oh there's a house I guess I'll just go in there he's like narrating the whole thing he's convinced himself he's been hypnotized oh right yeah I've been hypnotized so I'll just I'll just go through this yeah like what what do you think has this hap-hipped this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this th I thi I this this. Yeah. Like what do you think has this happened to you before? Like in what world are you like, well just I feel like I would just sit down on the ground and wait for something to happen, you know? Not going in the house. You're not proactive like Bobby from two weeks. No, just sit on the ground and it'll probably pass. So he finds a cabin and giml he says no go away. to the to'n't the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin. thin. thin. thin. thin. thin. thin. thin thin thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi thi thin thin thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi well just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. I I I I th. I th. I th. I th. I's thi. I's thi. I's thi. I's thi. I'll just just just. I'll just. I'll just thi. I'll just thi. I'll just thi. I'll just thi. I'll thi. I'll thi. No, don't come in here. It's bad news. So it goes in.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Of course. And Gimley turns into a werewolf. Yeah, or a weir bunny. I couldn't quite tell. It was a little bit like a bunny. He was adorable. Yeah. I didn't understand that at all. But he did do one really great thing, so they. they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. to to thi. to thi. thi. to thi. to to to to to to to tunn. tunn. tunn. tunn. tunn. tunn. tunn't tunne. tun. tun. tun. tun. tun. tun. tun. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tunn. tunn. tunn. tunn. tunn. tee. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. tue. tu. tunne. I forget what happened. Tony punches him or hits him or something,
Starting point is 00:12:06 and the werewolf just brushes his shoulder off, which is really funny. But like, yeah, like Jay-Z Dustin his shoulder on. Yeah, it was great. The werewolf had big, floppy hands. And he does a head crush. Yes. But it's a flop. Yeah, it was really a heavy palm, a very heavy palm.
Starting point is 00:12:25 But I do love a head crush. So we see Tony basically get bitten and then turn into a werewolf and then freeze in the wax museum. And then you see he becomes part of the wax museum display. It was kind of sad. Yeah, who care? I mean, like, do you care about that to happen? Well, you the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. So. So, toe. So, to. So, to. So, to. So, to. So, to. So, to. So, to. So. So. So, t. So. So. So. So, t. So, t. So, t. So, t. So, t. So, t. So, t. So, t. So, to. to. to. to. t to. te.a.a.a.a.a. te.a.a.a.a.a.a. So, to. So, to. So, to to happen to me. Well, you care about you. Therein lies the difference. Then basically this happens, this scene repeats itself several times with different characters like China. He's a very hunky vampire on the stairs. Yeah, with his back turn and she's like, oh what are you doing up there? Like, what is wrong with your hormones that you're like trying to seduce a fucking wax figure. China. Never trust a woman named after a country.
Starting point is 00:13:05 People fuck real weird shit, man. Those real dolls? Come on, people get weird stuff. So she then walks into the Dracula scene. the Dracula's, come on. People get weird stuff. So there's a family of Dracula's or something. And they have no fucking table manners. They are just... This was introduced my favorite naming segment. When Dracula is introducing everyone and he says, this is Caringa, this is Vega, Gabriella, and Emily. Emily. That's my niece, Emily.
Starting point is 00:13:41 She's visiting from Toledo. Fucking Emily, what are you doing there? Like, I don't even know. But then his son is Stephan, Stephen's such a dildo. Also, this scene has the best fake mustache on that waiter. Go back and look at it. It is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:13:57 It's the the wigs and fake mustaches on the army of old men at the end of the movie when it's like 50%% th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiol' thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, thi, thi, th end of the movie when it's like 50% not old men? The budget was just very low for these types of things. So she has a steak tartar dinner with these dracolas. Yes, which I felt like it must have been hard to eat like all that raw meat, saturated in blood while wearing that big white gown. Yeah, she did it thi to. She looked perfect. Yeah, I would have tucked the napkin right in the top. It's very into your decal tosh. I don't know how to say that word because I don't know French. I'm fancy. And she's also not like, what am I doing here?
Starting point is 00:14:31 She's like, oh, okay, I'm doing this now. Well, there seems to be, as we learned later, you sort of get glam, in the beginning, that everyone's very questioning, like Bobby from Twin Peaks was very like, oh, a little sis and do-doo, and China as she's being led around. She goes into this really weird looking white tiled room. Yeah, she's told that she has a fiance,
Starting point is 00:14:57 right. Charles, who can't be there. She finds Charles in this white-tiled room, strapped down to a table, and he's like very calm for having no leg meat. Very loose. No leg meat. Turns out the steak tartar was Charles's calf. Yeah. Just, but he's just like, darling, you've got to get out of here.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Like, dude, you have no leg meat. It's gone. It's too be so calm. I don't know. And then Stefan walks in and he's so gross. Before the main course, he wants to just have a little snack. Which like you already ate dinner, you're gonna get fat. You can't have two dinners. It's paleo, it's all protein. Yeah, then he did all these pull-ups, box jumps.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Through some stones around on the yard. So he he he he he. So he he, he he, he th, he th, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th.. So he takes a little nibble of Charles's leg. It was gross. It was I actually went like awk. And then apparently the scene was cut some but then you enter just a fucking blood fest. Yeah of her stabbing all these vampires. She makes a cross out of knives. Charles just keeps yelling touch his head. And then his fucking head explodes. Yeah. Airs are not that touough when you tou toucest their heads, as it turns out. I didn't know you could just touch their heads. I believe I made the note, Count Ducula is scarier than these vampires. Yeah. I mean, one of them falls backwards into a rack of champagne bottles and gets impaled.
Starting point is 00:16:13 How hard do you have to dinner for that one. I think that might have been when I was just like, oh this movie's bonkers. Let's do this. Let's go fucking bonkers deep in this shit. Yeah and it was just a blood bath in there. It was just yeah. So the her white gown is now completely soaked in blood. Yeah so she runs out of this room and sees the Dracula. Miles O'Kiles. He's been in a lot. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thin's thin. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. right? He's been in a lot of shit. I like, he's a person that I recognize but don't know where from. If you're a mystery science theater fan, he is Ator in, I can't remember the name of the movie right now, but he's in like fantasy film. He has a character name a tree. Yeah, I was thate. Yeah, I was thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. He's a th. He's a thi. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a thea. He's a thea. He's a thea. He's a the. He's a th. He's a th. He's he's beautiful. He's like Fabio Gorgeous. Wow. That is, that's a, that's a benchmark. Fabio gorgeous. What is, what is better looking than Fabio? Well, for that kind of dude.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Sure, the flowing locks. He's the benchmark of, no, you're totally right. So she like comes running out and after killing these vampires covered in blood and sees him and is like, I love you. Like, that's, that's come on, China, you know? Well, she knows that it's a, you know, it's on. This is happening now. Miles O'Keefe is involved. Yeah. So he bites her.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Right. And then, Mark and Sarah, Deber Foreman and a Billy, in a Billy from Grimland. Billy bounce. Yeah. It's like, oh, they must split you. Yeah. Well, see, here's the thing. China's a big enough asshole that she would leave without telling you. Right. I mean, she's not unreasonable to think that. Does what you want. Dig it. Or fuck off.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Oh, man, I might really get that. Abby the back to the wearerf ambulance t-shirts. Wearable ambulance. Yeah. Dig it or fuck off. Oh, it's so family-friendly. We're such a family-friendly show. So after a day or two, seemingly, Mark gets nervous that they haven't shown back up, but he seems to be the only one that's nervous. Which I felt was like a change of tone for this character, because at the beginning, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, th, th, th, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to to thi. to to thee to thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to hurt by your- Why was he a dick to his mom then? His mom was crazy she wouldn't let him have coffee. He's in college. That woman was nut bar, just like America. So he goes to see this detective who's like, you know how many people have gone missing in the last two weeks,
Starting point is 00:18:38 13? And Mark's like, oh yeah there's something weird going on to this waxwork. And the detective's like, impossible. Like, what other leads do you have? Because you're clearly doing a shit job of protecting this town? What are you investigating? Well, he files him. So obviously, he's just trying to keep this little. But he doesn't believe it. But he doesn't believe it. detective and the detective was like, this kid says you're a murderer like I guess that's how they did it in the 80s. No subtlety. Yeah. The 80s are free of subtlety. All that cocaine you couldn't be subtle. No. So the detective and
Starting point is 00:19:11 Billy from Gremlins go to the waxworks and David Warner opens the door because Billy's like oh you perfect in this movie. He's just spectacular. Fantastic dude. So good. He should show open every movie. He pretty much does, he pretty much to open. He's pretty much.
Starting point is 00:19:32 He's just like, John Reese Davies. Like, John Reese Davies, like, John Rease D'the, or the food company. He could love the movie. I could see him being into that movie. I could see him also being into like shells and cheese or the powder cheese. Oh liquid. So they go in and David Warner is showing them around. The cops like, you know stay out here your little shit want to come in. He's like, no, you stay out here, you little piece of shit, you fucking asshole. I hate you all of all my fibers and my being. It's such a dick. And so David Warner and the detective go in to look at stuff. And so, and so, and the detective's, and the detective's the detective's like, and the detective's like, and the detective's, and the detective's, and the detective's like, and the detective's, and the detective's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and he's like, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, he. to, he. to, he. to, he. to, he. to, he. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. to. the. to. the. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. it out and then like something happens in his attention. Well he tries to shove him and the detective is like, no thank you.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Like, that didn't tip you off that this man just shoved you from behind like. It's David Warner though, he's got a botile. You are the worst detective. What, that is such a horror movie that I never really noticed until we started doing this podcast. It is just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just th th that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. thi that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's that's that's that's thi that's that's thi thi thi thi that's that thi that that that that that that that that thatept yeah just did you go to the academy you had to have gone to the academy I know that that's where they send you I don't know yeah yeah the horror movies are not kind to the men in blue well I guess they could just so easily solve your problem you know if what if he was like there is something fishy going on here and then arrested them boarded up the wax work like the credits were all like like what what what what what what what what what the the their their their their their their. w. w. their. they they they they they they they they they they their. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. they're they're they're they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they'd they're they're they're they're they're. they're. they're. they're. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. I I I I I I I I I I I I I they. they. I. I. I. I. I. I. I they're. I. I they. they. they. I they. they. they. the they. the the they. the the they. the the the they. they. the. the. the. boarded up the waxwork, like the credits were all, like, what do we do then?
Starting point is 00:21:07 Whatever that happens in a movie is when the killer just like, hiya and stabs the detective. Right, which is basically what happens in this movie is the detective ends up getting into the Egypt exhibit and then goes back to his desk and he sits her and he's like, hmm, flash of a missing poster. And it's a picture of somebody and he puts it on the face that's on one of the wax displays. And I found an interesting fact that if you go back and look at all of the wanted posters with the different faces, they all have the same text on them. So they just cut and pasted the different wanted posters in his flashbacks. Oh, okay. And apparently it was taken from the set of the Lost Boys. Really? So that's one of the wanted posters from the Lost Boys. Nice. Tying everything thear.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Or just blatantly stealing. Just taking on a low budget. But it also makes me like, who the fuck is watching this movie that many times? That's something they picked up on. Oh, somebody loves this movie. Might have been me. Um. So he pieces it back together and then goes back to the waxwork. And that's when he goes into the Egyptian scene. And that's when we have our next v a throwback to the it's almost a throw back to the hammer mummy. Yeah. More so than the universal one. But it's great because there's like a mummy in a sarcophagus and then
Starting point is 00:22:32 there's a mummy in and out of the sarcophagus sarcophagus that walks out and starts hunting people and the other mummy just hugs the. thi. tho. the the th. th. Just hug them, just hugs them so gently. And I thought that was so adorable. This scene was the silliest, I think, of the murder scenes, where, I, I don't even know. I can't even tell you. They're like shooting this mummy, and they're, I, the mummy, yeah, they, the spear And then the mummy hugs the guy onto the spear. That was dope. That was pretty funny. Yeah. Hugging someone onto a spear is always funny, I think. So the cop is dead. But his partner's outside.
Starting point is 00:23:13 And then his partner gets killed by the giant. Just runs in and the giant kills him. And the little guy's like, why would you do that? We needed two more. And that's th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the th. th. th. the cop th. th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. So the cop. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So, the cop. So, the cop. So, the cop. So, the cop. So, the cop. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. th. the cop. th. th. the cop. the cop. the cop. the cop. the cop. the the the cop. the the the the the the the cop. the cop. the cop. the cop is thi. thi. thi. thi. So, a plot is at foot, a plot is a foot. Yeah. Not much of one. At this point I wonder why no one ever tries to go back through the portal. They never, no one ever like looks over their shoulder and is like, can I just go over it there?
Starting point is 00:23:36 Up until Billy going into the portal. Yeah. That seems like the first thing I would try to do is go back the way I came. Yeah. Other than sitting on the ground and waiting. Right, you already said the first thing you would do is sit on the ground. No, I think the first thing I would do is try to go back through the portal. If that and went, I got them. And the co-writer was like, I don't know, and they were like, no, no, no, no, it's good. Shut the fuck up, Rick, I brought you in on this project.
Starting point is 00:24:11 You laugh at Raul. What I want, when I want, dig it or fuck off. You got it. So, at some point during this movie, Sarah, Deborah Foreman becomes fascinated by the marquee you just saw. It seems like maybe she'd always been. She like had done some prior research. Yeah. Her character arc was being sort of like a girl that nobody wants to have sex with, even though she's absolutely beautiful.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Yeah, so that's unbelievable. But she's also like sort of fascinated by like, a little bit of a S&M world. Yeah, little 50 shades of whatever's? I don't know. So before that comes to fruition, they go to Billy's parents' house because Billy has an idea. He's just Billy now. And Billy is, Billy from Gremlin, is, he remembers something about the guy. He's like, oh, that guy, Warner, looks familiar to me. So he goes
Starting point is 00:25:05 through his grandfather's trunk and his grandfather was evidently the best dude ever. Yeah, super cool. Oh fuck, that's who I want to be. I wouldn't have an attic filled with horror nonsense. Yeah, you actually do. I'm in it right now. Yeah, it's pretty cool. So they go through the grunt of the grandpa's trunks and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's and grandpa's. So. So. So, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, th. their, th. th. the, th. their, th. th. So, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. He, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their, their, the something like that. Lord of Horror is murdered as the headline. They look through the newspaper and the person who murdered him is David Warner. Well, they don't know that that's he like went missing. Yeah, he went missing. He was sort of his, um, man-servant, man-servant, man-friend. Manfriend. Man, companion and employee. So they're like, aha.
Starting point is 00:25:45 And that's when I was like, oh, so that murder at the beginning was David Warner murdering Grandma Horror, which is also what I'd like to be called from now on Grandpa Horror. You should change your Instagram name to that. So they go see Billy from Gremland's godfather, who is a sweet dude. So sweet. Yeah, I recognized him as well. And he basically like does the entire exposition of the wax works. I don't know how he knows this, but he knows. Well, later it's sort of wrapped up, but loosely and unrealistically.
Starting point is 00:26:16 But he explains that, first of all he says, what is 18 divided by three, and Billy goes, six, 6 6 6 that's not how math works no well I mean it is 18 divided by 3 is just 6 right but I mean it's three sets it's 6 and then a 6 and then but if we're doing it a long hand I don't know I don't remember what 18 even had oh those a number of displays right the number of bad guys so Billy's the godfathers so thi's thi thi thi tho's that that that that that that that that thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that's that's that's that's not that's not that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the the the thi the the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi displays, right? The number of bad guys. So Billy's godfather figures out or tells them, maybe he's known all along, that Warner, David Warner, is using artifacts that were stolen from Billy's grandfather to basically bring these bad guys back to life by feeding them believing souls. And that's when we are told that you just have to believe in it. Which, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the their, their, Billy, Billy's their, Billy's their, Billy's, Billy's, Billy's, Billy's, Billy's, Billy's, Billy's, Billy's, bi, bi, bi, bi, bi, bi, b, bi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, and, their, their, their, their, and, their, have to believe in it which like I love and I hate like it's the thing at the end of Nightmare on Elm Street where she's like I don't believe in you and he disappears and I got so angry about that right it's kind of the same thing
Starting point is 00:27:14 in this movie but what are you gonna do you know it's also that a never-earning story thi tho? It th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thin, thin, you thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thin, you thi thi th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to thi to thi to thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi in it it goes away. Yeah. Not to bring up the never-enic story yet again. It is a pivotal film in my my upbringing. So then Billy from Gremlins and Deborah Foreman Valley Girl decided they need to go back to the Wax Works. Yeah to see what's going on. Oh they're going to set it on fire right. The only way to do it is to set them on fire. Right. Because they the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only way. the only way. the only way. they. they. they. the only way. they's. the only way. the only way. the only way. they's. the only way. the only way. the only way. to to to to to set. to set. to set. to set to set to set the the their. their. their. their their their. the the only the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. I. I. the only way. I. I. the only way. I. the only way. I. I. I. But. the only way. But. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way. the only way.... fire. Right. Because they're racked. Burn the wax works. So they take two cans of Zippo fluid. Yep. That's it. Because they're not going to burn the building down. Just the victimless displays is the way we're told. Exactly. The victimless displays. The victimless displays that don't have any. Yeah that are basically reserved for them. So they go back dumping the Zippo fluid all over everything and she just goes up to the Marquis de Sade and like what's a gazing gazing deeply into it and then she's Gonzo yeah and then the next scene is very uncomfortable yes do you want to describe this um sure so she gets
Starting point is 00:28:20 chained up by like two manacles hanging from the ceiling and the Marquis Desaud and the prince of something? It's an English prince. Yeah, are like just basically talking about bone zoning and beating her to death. Beating and fucking her to death. Yeah and she's like yeah that's awesome. Yeah totally into it, totally stoked. Because she's a virgin that's been set up earlier in the film. Because when Billy from Gremlin starts to Maceteer, she's like, I think you're really cute and I like you, but this isn't what I'm looking for. Yeah. What she's looking for is a long dead, bad guy to beat her to death.
Starting point is 00:28:59 It was, I was just like, oh, oh, things got real weird. Yeah. This is some, the script kind of just working out some shit right now. Yeah, so it cuts away from that and it cuts to Billy who was in the zombie scene, which was great. I love the zombie scene, which was in black and white. Like, just the whole display was black and white and so it was the filming. Which was sort of weird, because earlier in the film the film the film the film the film the film the film the film the film the film the film the film, the film, the film, the film, the film, the film, the film, the film, the film, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, theeat theat theat theat theat thi. theat theat thi. thi. the. the. the film, someone's like, oh, Phantom of the Opera. That's just like the movie. And David Warner says, oh, they made a movie out of that.
Starting point is 00:29:31 So when they went to basically Night of the Living Dead, it was like, well, how did you not? And then it was like, oh, maybe it's dependent on the person who's having the fantasy or whatever. So Billy would be the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. to, to, to, to, to, the to, the the the the the thi. the the thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th fantasy or whatever. So Billy would be aware of Night of the Living Dead. So therefore it would, yeah. I don't know why I had to work the logic out of this nonsense movie, but... Now you know how I feel all of the time. So yeah, he's in the Night of the Living Dead. Zombies are coming after him, and he's like, I don't believe. I just have to not believe. down, L-O-L, disbelieving. And he figures out that he can walk back out of this.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Yeah, if he doesn't believe, he can get back through the portal. So then he goes into the Marquita Sade display and unchained Sarah? Sera. Unchained Sarah. And she's like, no, I don't want to go and want to stay here. Hang in on to the Marquid to the Marquid the marquequequequequequequequequeque the too too the too the too too too the to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the marquil. So. So. So. So. Soo the marquil. Soo the marqu-S. Soo the marqu-S. Soo the marqu-S. the marqu-s. the marqu-s. the marqu-s. the marqu-a. the marqu-a. too-s. So-Se. So-a. So, so-a. So, towns. Yeah. Ew, and he, yeah. So then he proves to her that she doesn't need to believe by giving the Marquisea a gun and telling him to shoot him and he can't shoot him?
Starting point is 00:30:32 Yeah. What eves? Like, what am I going to say about this? My disbelief destroys your aim. Yeah. So she decides not to believe either pretty much and then becomes cured of her need for S&M I guess. So he's trying to battle his way back out of the house and that's when the doors get kicked open and Sir Wilfred. No. No. No. I always miss something. Go. So they come back out of the portal and they're grabbed by David Warner and he's tall friend
Starting point is 00:31:05 and the little guy helps out I guess to keep them quiet while they're two friends who had originally left come back in and they are killed in the scenes that were meant for Billy and Sarah. Oh that's right, that's right. So the transformation is complete and all the dead start rising all these bad guys which I loved I loved the scene so much it was like a precursor to cabin in the woods yeah I guess I guess maybe that's why but I just thought it was really I it was just a nice like vignette of yeah all these horror bad guys it looks like a really fun Halloween party yeah yeah except they were gonna take over the world if one of these guys they'll contaminate it and I was like what does that mean will it's a if if they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they were they were they were th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th the the th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they'll take over the world. He actually says, they'll contaminate it. And I was like, what does that?
Starting point is 00:31:45 What does that mean? I mean, if it's a thought-based virus almost, like, hmm, like it follows? Like it follows, or Pontypool, if you've seen that movie. Nope. Should, it's great. So, that's when Wilford busts in. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. thi. thi. that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. toe. to. th. to. th. to. th. th. to. to. to. thi. to. to. that's. thi. th. th. th that is. But during that scene, there's one of the displays that we haven't really seen before has graffiti on the wall that says demons rule. And I was like, why are we not hanging out in the demons rule display? I need to know more. I was bummed that. I think the demons rule display was also the same one that had the pod person. What is the movie? The pod people? No. No, not pod people. No. the. I. the. the. the. the. the. I. the the the the the the the the the the demon people. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I was. the demon. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. the demon. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I. I. the demon. the demon. the demon. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the demons. the demons. the demons. the demons. the demons. the demons. the movie with the pod people? The pod people? Nope, not pod people. Great movie, but the one we're, um,
Starting point is 00:32:26 envisioning the body snatchers. Oh, sure, sure. Oh, with hunky, uh, hunky Donald. Yeah, hunky and hunky, uh, Lennonie. Yeah, I don't find him that hunky. Yeah, he does this thing. when Wilford and the army of grandpas break into save the day. I loved Army of Grandpaws. And I don't know if we mentioned earlier, but Billy from Gremlin's godfather, Sir Wilford, was wheelchair bound.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Or he would have taken care of this, I think. So when he busted the door open, he's in a wheelchair with cardboard on it, so it looks like a tank. Yeah, it's great. It's just like. It's just. It's just. It's just. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like. I like, I like, I like, I like, I like. I like. I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. th. the. th. th. th build the tank. Today's the day. Apparently this movie was written in three days. That does not show at all. And I was like, I wanted to be there at the last day of filming when they were burning everything for this and they're just like, fuck it, go, go, go, go, go. One take, one and done. But during Grandpa's. I was so- That's where the money went in this movie was on that, I think. Don't you think? I had this theory that two things will always make a movie better, a beheading, which
Starting point is 00:33:32 happens. Somebody gets their head lopped off. And they at least crushed. Oh, sure, sure, sure. At the end of this, there's like 12 people walking around on fire. Yeah. I love that. Men dressed as grandpa's fighting monsters. I love that. I love it. So eventually chaos ensues and like, the fight kind of, frains.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Fucking fox. And the monsters like kind of take the upper hand and then they lose it to the, army and the grandpa army is kind of at the out of her hand and then he keeps going back and forth and firewalks. It's a seesaw of grandpas versus a monster. You're like, oh, who's gonna win? Who's gonna win? Probably, probably the grandpaws. Probably the grandpas. Probably the grandpas. So Sarah, the gra. Yeah, although wheelchair grandpa does pass away, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:34:26 Sacrifices himself for the cause. Yeah. It seemed like he may have been waiting for this moment. Oh, there's the terrible scene where David Warner's character gets thrown into the melting wax. Yeah. Why is that terrible? Because it was just so cordy. It was great. I loved it. It was great. I loved. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. that. that. thea. tho. tho. tho. tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thea. to to to to to to toea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the. That is not incongruous for me, I think that makes total sense.
Starting point is 00:34:46 Yeah, it's got to like Chuckie when he comes up out of the boiling stuff. That's still my favorite scene in a movie we've done to date. So Billy from Gremlin's and Debra Foreman managed to make it out after Grandpa. the grandpa's himself, everything's fine. But everything the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thoom's thoom's thoom's thoom's thuzy, thuzy, thuzy, thuzy, thuzy, thuzy, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's thi's thi's toyi's togy's togy's togy's togy's togu. Yeah, togu. Yeah, thauicicicki's thauicki, tipa, tipa' Yeah, the movie ends fine, everything's fine. But the hand. Oh God! Oh, it's the hand. So earlier in the movie in the night of the living dead scene, Billy gets a zombie hand stuck on him, which I thought might have been a little bit of a nod to evil dead, because the hand's just like jumping around on him and it's pretty funny. And that was making the rubble. And it's a terrible effect and it was fantastic. And that's where the second movie picks up.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Oh, nice. The hand is sort of the catalyst for the second movie. OK. So something got out to a contaminant world. Yeah, exactly. I have no recollection of how the rest of the movie goes. Except that the actress changes in. Yeah. Loved it. Ratings portion. Oh man, this Mr. Ed thing you're doing is very good.
Starting point is 00:35:48 I have to tell you, it is very good. How do you know Mr. Ed, but not Wolfman Jack? Don't you think one is more culturally invasive than the other? Anyway, I am going to give this movie an eight and a half because I adored it. Whoa, that's awesome. Yes, I loved it. I love it. It's, it's the same, it strikes the same chords for me that Childs Play 2 does, which is that it's like funny and there's funny lines, but it's not like an over-the-top horror comedy. It's just a horror movie with some comedy elements.
Starting point is 00:36:20 I like the gathering the movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie the gathering the gathering the the the the gathering the the the the the the the the the the the the gathering together of all of your like, it's all of your favorite bad guys, all in one place, which I love, and again, love again in Cabin in the Woods. Apparently they couldn't get the rights to, but they wanted to have Jason from Friday the 13th. This is the same year as Part 7. Yeah. Then weren't they poor at that point? Tell that shit. they were fighting with Freddy and writes and stuff too. And they wanted to have the thing in here, which would have made me very happy.
Starting point is 00:36:45 I know. We even talked about the thing in a while. No, hi Nanna. Hi, Nanna. Hi, Mike Bollum. I finally told Nona about this podcast. Did I mention that on here yet? No. Okay, so Nuna and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, I went, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. tha, tha, tha, tha... tha.. ta. ta. ta. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha, tha. tha. tha was like, nope. And then I told her, I was like, I have this radio show on the internet about horror movies.
Starting point is 00:37:09 And I talk about you all the time because you love Johnny Depp and she was like, I'm a celebrity and I don't even know it. And I was like, damn right, Nona. Can we have this 91st. Nona, Nona, so awesome. We need to is there is Johnny Depp in any other horror movies anything that qualifies in the 9th gate? Yeah, can we save that for none of his 91st birthday? Yeah, August. Definitely. Cool. I would give this movie a seven. Yeah, that's a good rating. I really liked it. Yeah. Had you seen it before this? No, okay. I do nothing about it. Once I figured out that it was just nuts though and it was just just just just just. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the th. th. the the the th. the the th. th. th. the the the the the th. the the the the the the the kind of bonkers than a lot of the other bonkers movies we've watched. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Yeah, I don't know why you think that either. Yeah. I think this is a return to the Living Dead are sort of on the same plane of ridiculous. Yeah, I really regret On retrospect? Yeah. Yeah. I did one at some point maybe do an episode that's just recaps of our ratings and whether or not we'd stand by those. So yeah, I'd give this a seven.
Starting point is 00:38:13 I thought it was a really fun time. It's like, it's ridiculous. It is ridiculous. And everyone's treating it as such. I don't think no one's like this is going to be my defining performance. I was really surprised looking at a Zach Gallion. Is that the name? Zach Galligan. I was really surprised. Did you just say Gallion again? No, Galligan. Looking at his his IMDB, I've thought like this dude's hunky. Yeah, he's got charisma. He's got charisma. He's got his cheekbones. He's got his cheekbones. He's like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like. He's like. He's like. He's like. He's like. He's like. He's like other better movies. Yeah, he's a completely competent actor. It's a bummer.
Starting point is 00:38:46 I don't know, it is a bummer. So yeah, I really like this movie. It was really fun. It was three bucks on Amazon. It was well worth it. Yeah. So what are we doing next week? to the movie that I can gather, it's about...
Starting point is 00:39:06 Hopefully it's a comedy. As far as I can gather, it's about a group of co-eds getting attacked by zombie beavers, which sounds like something I'm going to fucking love. So spoiler alert, I already love it. It does not sound like something I am going to love, but... You'll suffer thrownthe fun of doing this. You'll suffer through it. Thank you so much to everyone who's been interacting with us on the internet. Yeah, it's great.
Starting point is 00:39:29 I love hearing from you guys. Yeah, also you guys are nuts. Seriously. You guys are crazy. You're a nut bar. Like America. Starting point is 00:39:54 This movie was actually not only Katie's pick, but it was also my friend Dennis's pick for us to do. So it's a double suggestion. Dennis is the one who loves Hall Notes. We have a list. I did see that somebody asked us to do Leprecon in the Hood. Yes, bless your heart.
Starting point is 00:40:14 I'm doing it. It'll be coming up soon. Emma Dev too, because I was just hoping gonna be doing that in the near future. Yes, I cannot wait. I've never seen it, but I think I'm gonna love it. Because it's got ice tea, probably some weed smoking. And Warwick Davis. Yeah, all right, well. Yeah, get ready for zombievers. And thanks again for listening to another episode of Wherewolf Ambulance. Bye. Bye.
