What was the first one? Blair Witch.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Oh yeah. This movie is basically Blair Witch. It's very Blair witch. OK, I just want to make sure you're on the same page. Is that the only other found footage film we've done? I feel like so much is found footage now that it's hard to avoid. Yeah, I'm gonna say yes indubitably but probably be wrong. We've done so many. A garbage memory. Yeah. This is what our 64th movie? No, 63rd. 63rd movie. That's pretty good. You guys have stuck with us for 63 movies. I almost feel like I should
Starting point is 00:01:40 apologize. Negative they're enjoying it. I should apologize. I feel like I've just been apologizing since Darkness Falls last week and I'm just going to keep doing it. I think you're waiting for someone to say it's okay Katie. I think I am. It's okay that you re-watched Darkness Falls. You went back into that pool. I don't think it's okay though. I need to feel okay myself and I don't to feel okay myself and I don't th I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. I th. I th. I th. I th th. Wikipedia had a really good summation, a quick summation of this. So I will go ahead and read that and I think it's two lines. Set in Virginia, it tells the story of a documentary crew making a film about Alzheimer's patients who encover something sinister while documenting a woman who suffers from the disease.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Okay, yeah. Pretty well sums it up. What it doesn't say is that this movie requires such a suspension of disbelief. And you know I have a hard time with that. First of all, I have a lot of issues with this. You want to get those out of the way? Yeah, real quick. One, can you do a video as your dissertation for your PhD? Because I would think it requires a paper you lazy?
Starting point is 00:02:43 Right the paper. I like calling someone a lazy. Yeah, it's definitely an out now. I think you could include this as part of it and possibly use it as a launch pad to doing something more with it. Second. Okay, so I worked at the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh for four years while I went to college. So I do have some knowledge of Alzheimer's and how it works and how people should be treated. This is literally the worst thing
Starting point is 00:03:08 you can do to a person who has dementia. Their lives need to be like consistent and steady and not having strangers filming them in the middle of the night. Alzheimer's patients regularly develop like serious paranoia. So having a camera peeping in their bedroom while they're like trying to just be alone. Like no and and you have this grant money that you're paying for this with, no institutional review board in the world would approve this. No. Okay like especially not with that. I just want to get that out of the way. I felt very offended by it. There was no doctor on staff. And the doctor just keeps breaking HIPPA at every th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the th. the th. the the th. th. th. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to just, thi. thi. to just, to just, to just, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, thi. I, thi. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. th. th. th. I. I. I. I. I. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, t. And, t. And, te. And, toge. And, te. And, te. And, te. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, there was no like nurse supervision. And the doctor just keeps breaking HIPAA at every opportunity. She's like, well, look, here's her scans.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I mean, maybe the woman gave permission, but it didn't seem like she wanted to give her permission. No. And they were doing this for money. Mm-hmm. Why not just, like, get a power of attorney over your mom and sell the house, or get a line, or a line, or the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, th.......... She, their, their, their, their, the, together, together, tooe, tooe.e.e.e.e.e. too. too. too. too. te. te. te. the, the, the, the t get a line of credit or like there's I just the daughter was just fucking it up like you're forcing an elderly person with dementia into this like horror scenario I wish you would have died I wish the daughter would have died she she deserved it everybody in this movie deserve to
Starting point is 00:04:18 die and unfortunately they don't you're a really low body count in this film. Yeah, you know I feel about that. I do. So this is the directorial debut of Adam Robotol. Robotol. I'm Robotripping. It's the second time I've heard Robotripping.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Why? Why were you talking about Robotripping? So I would reference it on a podcast. You have a robo trip? No? No? No? Uh? I? Uh? I? I? Uh? Uh? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I, I, I, I thi? I thi? I thi? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? I do? th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. too. the. tho. too. the. I do tho? I do. I do? I do. robo-tripping today. Why? Why were you talking about robo-tripping? So I would reference it on a podcast. You have a robo-trip? Nah, no. Uh-huh. Wait, let me think. I did drink an entire bottle of Nyquil, but there's no coding. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:04:53 Oh, I was like, the hair stuff that's in layer ears of corn because someone told us you can get high off of it. She got high? No, I was like 11. This is the last that I'll say I once did a whip it on accident that knocks me onto the floor because I did the middle of the night I grabbed her ready whip with cream and I wanted to get a big chuzzle. So I deserved it. That is this broadcast. Because what were you doing with it? What were you doing? I just wanted to mouthful, but I didn't hold the can up right. It has to be refrigerated. It was refrigerated. They pulled it out of the fridge.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Oh, I thought you were sleeping with it next to my bed. Oh, I thought it might have something to do with that. Okay, so you grabbed out of the fridge. And I just held the can with a nozzle upright and took a big old suck on that thing and just knocked me on the outside. It's pretty fun though. Whippets are like, oh, I love that part. That's your brain dying. Yeah, I mean, like, I'm still. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the throged. And I just. And I just just. And I just. And I just. And I just. And I just. And I just. Androgea. And Irogea. And I just. And I just. And I just just just. And I just just justippets in college, you're like going to class, doing whip it, going to class, doing a whip it. It's like a balancing act.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I feel balanced. So that was our episode on the taking of Deborah's whipets. I'm sorry we just did this to you. They've all been there before. Yeah, who hasn't just tried to get so high to get so high to get so high to get so high to get so high to get so high to get so high to get so high the to get so high to get so high the to get so high to get so high on over-the-counter medication or corn silk? It is very Blair Witchy with the three filmmakers. Well, two of the three filmmakers being wholly unlikable. Mia and Gavin. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Louise is fine. He's fine. Yeah. And it's sort of like the woman pushing and pushing and pushing while the dudes are like, I don't know, I don't know if we should be doing this. Also, I wish Gavin had died. He's such a dick. He just peels. He just hurts out.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Yeah. Deborah, Deb, Debbie, is totally likable. She's totally great. I've had some, you know, family members who have gone through it, I think. I think that was part of what made me feel very uncomfortable in this movie. This movie made me feel uncomfortable from the jump, and not in like a, I'm scared what's going to happen way, but in an, I'm watching the exploitation of a vulnerable person way, which I really just didn't like. I get that that's sort of the point, but it just made me feel very bad.
Starting point is 00:07:26 And I did not find it enjoyable. I sort of equated it in my head with the dissent where the dissent is like part claustrophobic caving film and then there's that relief when the monsters show up, spoiler alert. And you guys should have seen this dissent by now, it's fucking amazing. There's monsters, that's not a spoiler. So. Yeah. So. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So thi movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie. And the movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the movie. And the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi the the thi. And thi. It's fucking amazing. There's monsters. That's not a spoiler. So this movie was kind of like this upsetting, exploitative look into someone dying of Alzheimer's. And then when the switch happens, it's like, oh, all right.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yeah, yeah, you're definitely right that it's almost two movies in that way where it the switch flips, but I just felt like the beginning the beginning the beginning the beginning they are might be bad and you don't want to get old and I felt that that was kind of a shitty tone to take I don't know I just didn't didn't like it also because no one is taking really good care of this woman like her daughter's terrible thing would go off if somebody tried to open the door Because they wander she just leaves her in the backyard There's no bell on her door. She walks out the you know what I mean like Take care of her this is a house full of stairs like Yeah, don't let her wander and you said she sleep walks like no one is taken care of her and thinne thi, no one. thi th. No one. No one's no one's no one's no one is no one's no one is no one is no one is thin's no one is thin thin thin thin they's no one is their their no one is their no one's no one is their no one's their no one's no one's their no one's their no one's no one's their no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's no one's their no one's no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their no one's their their their their taken is taken is taken taken taken taken taken taken taken taken their their their their their their their their their their their this is the second time I have watched the film and I definitely felt all of that that much more this time
Starting point is 00:08:46 Yeah, really hit home. It's like oh I thought this was kind of fun before and now like yeah, it was interesting You know it starts off very documentary like because they're like flashing to produced footage of like like diagrams of the inside of a brain and interviewing doctors and all this stuff and then that sort of falls off after like 10 minutes of the movie. Yeah, they just dropped that pretense almost entirely. And I kind of like that because I thought maybe it's like oh well that's probably how much of the movie they had had edited until this point. Okay sure. So we're following Deborah and her daughter Sarah around and this camera crew and their neighbor Harris. There's just the crotchety the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm the, the, the, the, the, the, maybe the' the' the' the' the maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe th. th. th. I maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe th. I th. I th. I mn, maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe th. I's th. I's th. I' th. I' th. I'm th. I'm thattytyty thatty that. I'm thrushe. I'm thrushes. I's thro. I's throooo. I'm just just. I'm just, thateateat. I'm just just, I'm just, I'm just just just Yeah. Through the course of this, Deborah is just getting spookier and spookier.
Starting point is 00:09:27 And I really liked a lot of the jump scares in this movie. There's a scene where she has gone around, and I guess she's done it before, but she once again is nailing all the windows shut, because somebody is outside, which is a scary concept. Like just from someone being that bugged out. Someone with Alzheimer, their their their, their, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thus, thus, thus, thus, thoom. thus, thus, thoom. thoom. th. th. th. th. tho, th. thus, thus, and, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom, someone with Alzheimer's like losing. And she has like, um, their faculties like that. Motion activated lights and things like that.
Starting point is 00:09:48 And they're going off, I mean something is setting them off, yeah. And, uh, there's one scene where Gavin hangs his aunt's, um, cross. I hate Gavin so much. Yeah, he's a tool. In this scene, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah, thi. thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. her paintings on the floor. Why? You're in her home. Don't be a dick. Like, you're in her home. I get you don't want to be there. I get you're just for the money. I get you don't like her, but you're human filth. Yeah, the fact that the film did not give us
Starting point is 00:10:13 the satisfaction of American asshole. I'm just an entitled American asshole. And what I'm entitled to is the death of other assholes. Don't you agree? So we're following them around. Deborah just keeps sort of escalating in the weird shit that she's doing, like digging holes in the backyard in the middle of the night. As people with cognitive impairment do.
Starting point is 00:10:42 And what like the scene where, I think the special effects in this movie are outstanding. There's a scene where she's like digging in the dirt and they come back and wash her hands and they're just bloody and narled and... I have a question. Shoot. Is be a doctor. But she's going to be a PhD, not like a medical doctor. Yeah, they treat her like she's a medical doctor throughout this movie which is offensive, quite frankly. At one point the doctor gives her a syringe with sedative and it's like you know what to do with it. Like what you're, you could be getting a PhD? I don't know. I mean maybe I'm wrong. the the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the th. the the th. the the the the th. their, their, their, their, their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they. th. they. thery or something. You have to be a doctor. Yeah, but that girl did not seem like a doctor to me. She was not very doctorial.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I didn't see her in scrubs once. No. I didn't see her do anything of any note that I would like to commend her for. No rubber clogs, no scrubs. No, no scrubs. I don't like it. So, there's the scene where they find Deborah in the kitchen. The chronology of me talking right now is completely bonkers, but... It matters not. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:11:53 It sort of hits a plateau of craziness that just keeps getting crazier, or keeps at that crazy level for a while. And there's a scene where she rips her on throw down. Why would she do that? Well it sort of comes up later that she has the ability to do this without it bothering her where she can just remove hunks of skin. Why? I guess we can get to that later but I don't feel that I got a satisfactory explanation so maybe you can help me with that? Do you want me to tell you now? Yeah, go ahead. She's a snake. She's the snake. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's a th. She's a snake. She's a snake th. She's a snake thi. She's the. She's a snake th. She's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. tea. tea. tea. tea. tell. tell. tea. tell. tell. thea. thea. the. the snake people. She's shedding her skin. That's how she's able to pull out of the handcuffs later on. That's why she's able to just like peel layers of skin off. She's a snake people. Yeah, which will come up in the the danable. Why is she a snake people? Well, so as we learn as they're going through these different
Starting point is 00:12:47 things, we learned that Deborah was once a phone Jimmy Jam. What are those things called that I can't think of right now? A switchboard operator? That's the one phone Jimmy Jam. She just jim that phone that phone. Jim jam. Jim 5 go to Jimmy Jam 6. It didn't seem like she was so much a switchboard operator though, even though they said she was as an answering service. Yeah, that's what it seemed to be. Yeah. And she kept all the town secrets. I want to say that in sultry voice.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I like that you did. I think it was appropriate and I think it worked. So, yeah, we learned that she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she that she she she she she she that she she was she was she was that she was that she was that she was that she was that she was that she was a that she was a s she was a s she yeah, we learned that she's a switchboard operator and she kept a meticulous notes and then for some reason there's one line that keeps ringing and it's for a customer that she did not, that she had torn out the page of notes for. And that's how we learn about this Desardin character, which sounds like a knockoff perfume. Yeah, it sounds like it smells very strong and not good. It's like white diamonds.
Starting point is 00:13:51 We don't spend the money. White diamonds? White diamonds. Stephen Kang's white diamonds. So what I took from this is that guy is a child murderer. He's doing one of the Monacon Indian ritual to extend his life. I don't know what that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels that's feels feels feels feels feels that's feels feels feels feels feels feels that's feels that's feels feels that's feels is very that's feels is very that's feels is very that's is very that's is that's is that's is that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that means. It's that that that that that that tho tho that tho-s tho-s tho-s. that that that that that that that that that that from this is that guy's a child murderer. Right, he's doing one of the Monacon Indian ritual to extend his life. I don't know what that means. I don't know. They're snake worshippers, it turns out. He's putting snakes eating their own tails on girls' foreheads, which if you all recall, is the tattoo that Scully gets in the X-files that's the tax files that's.. the ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex ex. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that caxed is is that that that causes is that ca-II is that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's is is that's is is that's is that that that that that that is is that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that thii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the theeeee. they. theee. They oral boorph. The what? Oroborus?
Starting point is 00:14:25 Is that what that's called? When the snake's eating in tomato. I'm sure I'm mispronouncing it. No cares. That's how we roll. Horror. Yeah, we see this documentary within this documentary about this doctor.
Starting point is 00:14:38 He was a pediatrician. French Canadian. I just find Canadians to be so pleasant. Like I just have a hard time buying it that any of them are murderers. Look at Justin Trudeau, you know? Oh, he's so so hunky. So hunky and kind. What a guy. What do you guys get Justin Trudeau and we're going to get Donald Trump? In what world is that fair? The one where I'm going to be Canadian after Donald Trump is elected? I don't think they want us. Can you just become Canadian? Yeah, yeah. I look anyway. It looks like a lumber jacket's fine. It's true.
Starting point is 00:15:10 So yeah, through this documentary we learned that this guy was a pediatrician that everyone really liked and then he turned out to be him from ever having to die. You need to kill five children, only got to kill four. When they first menstruate, in the documentary, they say, bleeding flowers, as they're called. Are they? Who calls them that, you fucking crazy? Wasn't that ginger snaps? Oh, may have been. I'm a werewolf. We're a wearwolf.
Starting point is 00:15:44 And he either died or ran away. No one knows really what happened to... He's missing. Which will come back. It's checkoff's de jardin. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. I can't wait to someone corrects me that I'm using the checkoff's blank completely wrong. You're right. If you show it in the first act it's got to come to fruition in the third. That's all thor th that's all th. I I I th. I th. Yeah th. Yeah th. No, you're right. If you show it in the first act, it's got to come to fruition in the third. That's all I was doing. If you take issue with that, you come to me. You come talk to me. Do you hear this? You hear this? That's fists? So scary. Why do people have so much furniture covered in sheets? It is scary. I do have a question about them wandering around the house.
Starting point is 00:16:27 So they've seen the documentary. They know that this guy's bad news and they now think that Dejardine was the thi thinne thin thoo's bad news and they now thin. they now think that Dejahdane was the that. the missing page that she was trying to erase. Yeah. So I wanted to ask a question real quick. Was it set up at some point in the movie, and I didn't notice that when they're walking around the house at night, they can't turn the lights on? The power is inexplicably out for all of it. I don't know. Yeah. It's very strange. I think maybe, the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tootheathea the toooooooooooes. Tootheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheat. There was a lot of scenes filmed in darkness for no reason. Yeah. Just so they could have that Blair Witch effect of the camera light.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Yeah, only lights. Which is good? It's spooky because then stuff can come out in the corner. It has to make sense. It has to be reasonable. Because when they show the house from the outside, it's always lit up. Like a Christmas tree. Yes, I don't know. thk. thk. they. th. th. they. th. th. they. th. th. th. they. th. th. th. th. they. they. their. their. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. their. th. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the her doing crazy things levitating onto the counter, they find her sitting naked at her switchboard speaking in French. That part was really upsetting. Yeah. Because that is something an Alzheimer's patient does is like strip their clothes and I don't know. It just felt, I just felt, I don't know. Yeah, but I understand you like that upsetting you like but I do feel like like it was it was an interesting like take on it. Like it added that level of like uncomfortability when they weren't getting it with scares,
Starting point is 00:17:51 they were getting it with that. So yeah, kind of kept you edgy. Oh sure. It absolutely does. It's just not to my to my preference. Sure. Yeah. Um, so she goes into the hospital. Gavin is calling the police and he's like screaming what's the address? What's the address? You've been living there for like seven plus weeks. If you don't know where you are you deserve to be shot. I don't know. And so. And so, th. And th. And th. Or before he goes to visit, she has gotten up and abducted that little girl, right? Right, right. Which is also very interesting. And taken her to the abandoned wing in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Have you ever been in a hospital? Have you ever been in a hospital? Have you ever been in a corner. I have a quick question for you. Yeah. Did you think the little girl looked a lot like Corey Feldman and Friday the 13th? Oh, fuck, yes I did. I guess she was a cancer patient, which was sad.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Also her immune system was probably compromised, which makes what happens to her later very upsetting. So they find her trying to abduct this little girl, find Deborah Logan trying to abduct the little girl, and take them back to their respective rooms, and they've chained down Deborah Logan so she can't escape, which is, you know, probably for the best for everybody. And Harris comes to visit and she wants Harris to kill her. So he, you know, dutiful a a a f a f f f f f f f f the thuuuui thui thu- thui thi thi thi thi thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I will, I will, I will, I will thi, I will thi, I will thi, thi, I'll thu- thus, thi, thi, thi. thoom-------------------s thoom-s, th. th. So, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. So, th. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi-s thi-s thi-s thi-s thi-s thi-s, thi-s, thi. thi. It's thioleeuioleui. It's thiiiiiioli. So, thioli. Someaughe, thi. Somea-s and she wants Harris to kill her. So he, you know, dutiful friend says yes, I will, I will do this and grabs a pillow and starts meanly. Meanly. You got to give it some gusto if it's going to happen quick. I guess she should quit fighting if it's what she wants. And then. This tube TV, tube TV's are heavy. But the effect is, as good as the makeup special effects are, this effect is dukey.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Like the TV just starts shaking, but robdabab-dom-dom-bidom. And then the fash is right into the back of Harris. And I was just like, damn, fucked you off Harris. Yeah, so Sarah talks to him the fifth child. Why we don't know how... Well, she takes like a fucking champ. She takes that shit in stride. Yeah, it never, and she never mentions it again.
Starting point is 00:20:09 And he says, we buried him alive. Why? Why did you bury him alive? Why did you bury him alive? what? On the murders. Who was? Harris and Deborah Logan I think. Why? And Deborah Logan stopped him from killing her daughter. Well I missed that. I think. I didn't know if maybe she just like took a message for him where he was like, I'm gonna kill that daughter. I didn't know. I don't know. a supernatural episode too, here where they're like, salt and burn, salt and burn those bones.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Yeah, man, everything I've learned, I've learned from Supernatural. I know. I know. And then, like, so they go to the backyard to dig up, to try to dig him up. And Mia, the director of director of of of of of of the director of the director of the director of the director of the director of the director of the director of the director of the director of the director of thii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the director, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. to, to, toeea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. to. toea. the years. Like, are you telling me medical student that you don't know how bones work? Are you telling me that? You are not getting this PhD. I don't know. So they find his bones.
Starting point is 00:21:17 So they find his bones. They found a spade that she had used to kill him. Not kill him. Well, Deborah Logan used to stab him to stop him from killing Sarah. Before they buried him alive. So then they run through the house and they find the bones in, in the attic. They're like buried in the attic.
Starting point is 00:21:39 One of the three addicts, which is a very upsetting to Louise. So you, this is you, this is your situation. You're in a house in the woods. You have this bag of bones that needs to be burned. Where do you take them out of fucking side? No, you take them out of fucking side. Fireplace. Out fucking side. You fucking dummies.
Starting point is 00:21:58 They open the bag in the middle of the living room. You morons! I don't touch any of the slimy stuff that's on the walls. Oh yeah, just run your finger over that. I mean a medical student. I should mention that they're throughout those movies snakes keep popping up. Yeah, no I don't like snakes. It's like a snake. It's like a creepy shit. No snakes. Anybody? Don't walk around with a snake. Anybody. Don't don't walk around with the snake th th the snake the snake th the snake th th th th th th the snake th the snake th th th th th the snake th th th the snake th thin thin thin tho thirty thirty. Don't thirty. Don't thirty. Don't. Don't thi thi. Don't. Don't thin thin thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' that. I that. I that. I that. I thian. I th. I th. I th. I th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't thin'n't thin. Yeah. Yeah. Don't thin. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Yeah. Yeah. I thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I th. I th. I most interesting person in the world. You can do that with like maybe a parrot. You're still an asshole with a parrot. But you're like a less creepy asshole. A piratey asshole. Yeah. So they try to burn his body, the bones.
Starting point is 00:22:36 It doesn't work for some reason. It explodes and knocks them back. Why does that happen? Magic. So what they do what anybody tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho they do what they do what they do what they do what they do what tho they do what they do what tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho that tho tho tho tho tho. tho. tho. tho. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho. tho. th. their th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi is thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. tho. tho. tho. th happen? Magic. Cool, got it. And then- So what they do what anybody would do, would just put the body in the car and drive around. Well, they, first they run outside and there was a good scare where they turn around and there's somebody staring at the window.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Yeah, that was good. I was like, oh, that was't take the body and they run around with it, like Benny Hill style, just fucking, bar, bar, bar, bar, bar, ridiculous. I don't understand it, but I guess that's fine, whatever. They're going back to the hospital because Deborah has escaped. No fucking security on her. No. Just nobody is doing their job.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Nobody's doing any sort of job in this movie. I mean, that's just, you know, the state of health care in America right now, you know what I mean? I guess so. She's put a security guard into anaphylactic shock by biting him because she has snake venom. Okay. Because she a snake person? Yeah. Okay. Because she a snake person because she's a snake person? She got possessed by a snakeman. I'm no snakemanologist, but I'm going to say she got possessed by a snakeman. He's a snakeman.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Well, he, I don't know. He got four fifths to that ritual, if you don't get the fifth, fifth you just end up snakeman. Snakeman seems like a terrible thing to be. Yeah. Scary. So, Deborah, Deborah, uh, Deborah, uh, Debrin. Deborah, like, once again sluffs off her skin and just like pulls her hands out of her bombs. I show you on the footage. And when you see your hands later, they're super gross looking. And, uh, there's a lot of super gross stuff in the. Oh we didn't even mention it. It all go rub. Yeah, it was awesome. She once again steals Corey Feldman and Friday the 13th favorite girl child. There's a really
Starting point is 00:24:28 good scene where there's like a standoff between her. You're watching on video footage of her and a cop. And she just like fucking attacks him and it's the one you referenced your earlier. And a philactic shock and all that. And the child is just going with her. The child is not the the the child is just. the child is just. the child is just. the child is not. the child is not. the child is not. the child is not. the child. the child. their. their. their. their. their. their. there. there. there. there. there. there's like there. there. there's like a stand. there's like a stand. There's like a stand. There's like a stand. There. There. There. there like a stand. there like a stand. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the a fight at all. Seems to be stunned somehow like under some sort of sway. Yeah later she keeps saying over and over don't hurt him he's a good man. Don't hurt him he's a good man. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. All right. This is she's saying this while they're in the woods. Yeah. Ah lost me here a little bit. So she has to get back to the mine where the the murders have happened before to complete the ritual I guess because she's gonna kill this child to be the fifth child right she is danger bad though he becomes back to life I guess he becomes immortal why would anybody want that I know it sounds miserable it's just like
Starting point is 00:25:18 just die already like Gavin just die already just die already just I don't know. This is like your existential moment. Death is the only thing that is real. It's true. And taxes, I guess, right? What are you my dad?
Starting point is 00:25:40 I hope not. This would be terrible. It would be a really weird twist on this podcast where I've been a Holland's dad all along. Calendar year three, the reveal was on. So she gets back into the mine and now we have a cop with us named Lori? Linda. Linda. I wondered if that was like a nod to the exorcist.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Oh, maybe. I don't know. I mean, it didn't seem like like this like gave a lot of nods to anything or cares about things, but... So they're now, she chases them into the mine first and we're watching outside on the camera, which again, with these found footage movies, like put the fucking camera down. I get very nauseated watching. It's hard I'm tired. So the cop gets shot, she gets killed I'd like to say. Who shoots her? Deborah? Sure. Somebody does. Fine. She gets shot. And well it turns out that there was a, we encountered Deborah earlier with two cops and she spits venom into one of the
Starting point is 00:26:39 cops face and that's pretty dope. It's a good move as a snake person to be able to do that's pretty dope. It's a good move. Yeah as a snake person to be able to do that She just like hacked up a fucking poison luggy on the dude was awesome. Yeah And it seemed to like blind him. Yeah and so at that point Louise takes the little girl and just leaves and they escape. It's just like goodbye. Because the cop can't then drive because he's blucke. Because the cop then drive because he's blind. the cop the cop the cop the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the toooogozygozygozygozygozygozygozygozyg.ozyg.ozyg. toyoyoyuuizuzozyg. toyuiz. toy. the the the the the the the the the takes him and the little girl. The little girl is with Deborah Logan as we see later. Where's Louise going? He just takes the cop down the hill to get help. That's cool. They're up on a mountain and they need to get down. Yeah I guess you're right. Oh right because the little girl oh yeah okay I don't know what I'm talking about. I didn't even see this movie. Yeah, you know, that thing happened and the guy was like, ah! You're right! So they're chasing Deborah through the mine and that's, I guess another reason to sort of spark the dissent for me because it's very claustrophobic. Oh, there's a note. Suddenly it's the dissent.
Starting point is 00:27:37 If you're going to reference a good movie. No, it's a great movie. And it's very Blair Witchy at this point. It's very like, Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. We just put back-to-back screaming names movie. Yeah. And just like dark, shaky cam, one light, people with their backs to the camera, yeah. Why does it go to night vision? Because they want to turn the light off so that Deva Logan doesn't seethem coming. So then there's the Silence of the Lambs thing where she's like trying to find her and got her hands out. Yeah. So she you know tries to
Starting point is 00:28:13 stick her and then Debra Logan attacks everybody and then we come around the corner after Deverelogan escapes and she has unhinged her jaw and is trying to eat this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child this child th. th. th. and is trying to eat this child. That was, she's swallowing her head. Yeah, it was, I thought that was a dope effect. Yeah, it was great. Because even when the kid's head comes out of her mouth and she still has this huge unhinged jaw, and it's cool. And she looks just horrifying.
Starting point is 00:28:35 She looks terrible. And if you look at a still of it, One moment, please. But it's really cool. I guess it's probably CGI, I would assume, but like, the way they have the Devere Logan's head on the top and then the unhinged jaw, it looks really awesome. It's great. It's good CGI, but it's a gi. I don't know how much of it's practical. And there's a scene where she opened jaw screams at at the end of the thriller video, which I really liked. God, I wish I could do that right now. They burn the body. They burn the body.
Starting point is 00:29:23 They burn the body, which this time it burns. It burns. Why? And it frees Deborah. Yeah, she's burned now too. Yeah, she's all fucked up. I mean, she was all fucked up before. Like, there's this like progression of makeup as she gets like less and less hair and
Starting point is 00:29:38 just more and more terrifying. And like dark circles in her eyes and then just bloodied and she gets this weird this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this thisrifying. In like dark circles under her eyes and then just bloodied and she gets this weird infection on her back which I guess is snake. Yeah, it's just this snake affection. That's the worst kind. I'll take it and there's no antibiotics for snakefection. Oh it's like Halloween 3 when the kid's face turns in the snakes. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh God. Oh God. So then it cuts to news reports. Yeah. So nobody dies except Linda, the cop, right? Right. Let's assume the guy they got to a car accident. I hope he did. I hope that like when the guy was shooting out, he like shot out his tail lights or something and someone rearended him and he fell out
Starting point is 00:30:19 the window and died. That's how people died in car accidents, right? It's terrible. Geez, Louise. So they cut to this this this this this this this this thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the thi the the news the news the news the news the news the news the news the news the news thi to to to to to to to die to die to die to to to die to die to die to die to die to die to die to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thie. thie. thie. thie. thie. thie. thie. thie. thie. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the. the the. the the the the. the tie. thi. to to to to to to to to to to to thi., right? It's terrible. Geez, Louise. So they cut to this like news footage of Deborah is arrested for the murder of the cop. Yeah, and they're like, she is unfit to stand trial. Yeah, she was a terrible wig at this point. You don't say. Yeah, she really does. And then we cut to a birthday party for the young girl who is saved and it's our leukemia has gone completely into remission. Yeah but now she's a snake
Starting point is 00:30:50 person. Now she might be a snake person. It's a weird scene of the TV newsperson interviewing her and he's like well what he doesn't ask her like, what do you want to be when you grow up? He's like what are you going to do with all these years ahead of you since you didn't die? Like who asks a 10 year old that? And she's like, I don't know. And he's like, well, you have to make a life plan. Like who says that to a 10 year old? And she's like, I have one, but it's a secret. And then turns to the camera.
Starting point is 00:31:15 And mean mugs it. I don't know. Deborah Logan, and then the song Deborah Logan rips in and Deborah Logan. You didn't have that version? I don't think so. I don't think so. T-T-T-T-Tabra Logan. No. But that's the end of the movie. So Snake People.
Starting point is 00:31:38 I would like a rap at the end of the movie. Like a le le-aerterr. th. the movie like a Deborah Logan rap about snake people like a lepercon I'm thinking more like the first teenage mutant Ninja Turtles like the T-U-R-T-L-E power never seen it never see it it's my Star Wars I've never seen I've seen Star Wars I've seen Star Wars I saw that one of them I think I saw two of them it doesn't matter it doesn't matter nothing nothing matters nothing natural nightmare movie yeah I think I saw two of them. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. Nothing matters. A existential nightmare movie. Yeah, that's pretty fair.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Nothing matters in this existential nightmare movie. Well, before we give up completely, do you want to move on to the ratings face? I don't like that at all, because you're a snake person. That's me unhinging my jaw. I thought it was you copying up a hair ball, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because're a snake person. That's me unhinging my jaw. I thought it was you coughing up a hairball because that's what my cat sounds like before he does it. The worst noise is that?
Starting point is 00:32:32 You're like in bed like, ah, fuck, I'm going to step on that in the morning. Or I have to kick you out of bed because you're trying to do that in bed. You push some on the floor and th like, come on. I hooked you down three feet. Yeah, three feet is like the entirety of your body too, like, it makes you a monster. The cats make you a monster. Sorry, Glenn, I'm sorry I do this to you. Oh, I didn't mention that I had the note eat that kid. He wanted the kid to get eaten. It was hilarious. There was also also the the the the the the the the the the the tha. tha. thiiiiiia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thiol-I tho. thi. thi. thia' theathea' theathea' thi. thi. thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the is the. the is the is the. thi. the is the is the is like the is like the. tea tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. teatea. tea. tea. tea. tea. to get eaten. It was hilarious. Yeah, she had it coming. And there was also the point where Sarah was going through the caves and she encountered some snakes and she just goes, fuck off snake! Yeah, she tells it to go fuck itself.
Starting point is 00:33:12 The character- But I guess it could just wrap up and go fucks. Yeah, yeah, like that tato. I just, it's like, this movie, this, this, this, this, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this heels of Darkness Falls, which was a movie in which nobody gave any fucks. Nobody cared, nobody tried, nobody did anything, and it was awful. I really didn't enjoy this movie, but I can see that it was made with a lot of care and a lot of, it was, you know.
Starting point is 00:33:37 There were some tries. There were some tries. There are some good scares in it, there's some gross stuff in it. But it just made me the wrong kind of uncomfortable. Would I recommend other people watch it? I guess. Okay. Yeah, if you like found footage movies, which I'm going to give it a five. It's going to be middle of the road for me. I would not watch it again, but if you wanted to watch it, I wouldn't stop you.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Thank you. I mean, I think you're free to do what you want. I really do. Although all these movies are really messing up my Netflix algorithm. I do not want to watch the last shift. I know you try to I'm not going to watch it. It looks terrible. Stop suggesting it to me. Yeah. It's bad news. I like this movie the first time I watch and I like it th. I th. I th. I think the end gets fun because there's a woman who unhitches her job to eat a fucking child. Totally 100% agree with that. That is a great scene and that will stick with me and I really the special effects are really well done. I thi the the special the special the special the special the special th th th th th th th th th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. No, it's thi. I don't think so. I liked that one a lot too.
Starting point is 00:34:52 It would just a good time and found footage, like, in that way that, like, found footage just doesn't make any sense, because it's not found, like you obviously, it's like, oh, a found Coke can. It's like you kicked it walking by it. Well, that was what bothered me was. I thought that Mia was going to die, because they found this footage. And that's sort of says at the beginning, like, this is what happened before the crime or whatever. Right. But she could have just edited all that.
Starting point is 00:35:16 So Louise could have edited all that. No, so it's not really a strong footage. So do you think she got her PhD? I hope so. Go, Mia! Yeah, she was a butthole. She was that weird line at the end where she was like, I'm sorry, I light about my grandfather. So dumb. Whatever. I'm sorry, I'm totally stomping all over your reading. Like, are you trying to say something? it's a six. Okay. It's like it's better than middle of the road but it's like yeah yeah yeah I mean it's not like movies that came out in 2014 it's probably not the worst thing you can do. I mean zombievers came out in 2014. Oh god
Starting point is 00:35:51 damn it. Unfriended came out in 2014. That was a found footage movie that we oh shit. Ah nailed it. So we did do another found footage movie. Yeah. You know what you guys shouldn't erase from your mind? The URL for Cryptocurium, CRY, PTO, C-U-R-I-U-M. C-O-M. So good. Crypto-C-U-R-I-M. So good. Crypto-R-I-U-M dot C-O-M. So good. Cryptocurium is our sponsor.
Starting point is 00:36:28 They make a monthly subscription box that you can get called the Parcel of Terror. Everything in it is a handmade item of decorations and cool shit and magnets and plaques, sometimes candy fingers. Candy fingers, that candy finger was deese, too. I mean, I've eaten a lot of candy in the last couple of weeks, and that was, that was, thiiii, that was, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, thi, thi, and tho, tho, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, is is.
