Starting point is 00:00:00 Just that Tanya Harding is so much more relatable than Nancy character, you know? She was poor and she wasn't a Connecticut wasp. Oh, well, waspiness does play into the movie that we're going to talk about today. These segues are getting thinner and thinner. It's some thin soup. We're talking about the movie, The Omen. Hi, this is WhereWilf Ambulance. I'm Alen. I'm Katie. I think we even, this is a horror movie podcast that does not talk about NASCAR racing films unless
Starting point is 00:00:46 you listen to the last episode when we did. And if you ever want to talk about NASCAR fantasy, like I'm happy to get to talk about that. Share tips. You want to open that plug it? Well, if they have tips, I'm not doing so well this week we're talking about a horror movie and we're talking about a classic horror movie. One of the high points of the 70s Satanism, Antichrist End of the World. Bad babies. Gregory Peck. Not so much. Oh come on! I'm not that into Gregory Peck. I find him smarmy. I did call him the poor man's Carrie Grant and got chastised by my my partner about it.
Starting point is 00:01:25 She like Gregory Peck? Yeah, she likes Gregory Peck along. Sorry, Missy. But I'm a huge Carrie Grant fan, so. Our sneak and old lace? God damn, he's so good. But Gregory Peck is in Roman holiday and that movie. But we're not here to talk about Roman Holiday.
Starting point is 00:01:38 We're here to to talk about aboutto the Omen with the cross graphic and the choir and the it's so good. Soundtrack in this movie, I think it's Jerry Goldsmith's only win of an Oscar for his soundtracks. It's so, he's done a ton of like, he did like Alien and a bunch of movies we did. We've definitely discussed Jerry Goldsmith and he was warlocked first episode. Oh boy, oh boy. Jerry Goldsmith, you're a woo. Yeah, and it has that feel of like, and I've heard this song somewhere before and it's like it really really taps into that. But yeah that opening graphic of the little kid who's shadow cast an upside-down cross. Yeah. The coolest. Most of my notes are about the first scene of
Starting point is 00:02:19 this movie where they get the baby. Okay because Gregory Peck, he's in the hospital and he's been told that his wife, th. the wife, th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. the th. thi. I's, thi. I've, thi. I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. And, I. And, I. And, I. And, I. th. th. th. th. th. the the the th. the the th. th. to. to. And, to. And, the to. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, the th. And, I've th. And, I've. And, I've. Okay. Because Gregory Peck, he's in the hospital and he's been told that his wife has had a baby but the baby died. Oh, we're going to spoil this movie, by the way. Yeah, well, yeah, the baby's dead. And he's basically just like other people's kids aren't good enough for us. We need our own kid. And I was like, done with with you, you're a dick. Yeah. And I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I was, and I was, th. And I was, th. And I was, th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, the, the, the, the, the the th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. th. th. thi. th. tho. th. tho. th. the. tho. tho. th. th. th. tho. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, told the wife. No, she doesn't need enough. She just put women, you know, women. What with women and all? Yeah, and then they're like, by the way, we have this extra baby so like whatever. You want this extra baby?
Starting point is 00:02:52 It should be pointed out that it is 6 a.m. on June 6. Yeah. Yeah. Six six six. was written by the guy who wrote David Seltzer who wrote Lucas the yeah yeah the locusts and then he who got does he catch the ball I think he catches the ball yeah I think he said how how very different
Starting point is 00:03:17 there is no way I could have predicted that reaction but it's just crazy that he wrote these two movies. Yeah, how very different? And apparently he wrote a percentage, he wrote like 30% of Willie Wonka in the chocolate factory. No shit. He wrote the pure imagination song. Really? That's it's yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Anyway, going back to Gregory Peck being a fucking shit. Robert Thornton. I do know this is what a dumb fucking assul. It's the own, it's one of the few like super absurd things that happens in this movie. Where it's just like you can't, so basically they're going to take this other baby whose mother died in childbirth and he's not going to, he's like, and the priest is like, oh, the resemblance is there, let's just do this, let's just give you this baby. And he's like, God has given you this child. And I'm like, God has given you those eyebrows, father, because they are wretched. I don't know. I don't remember his eyebrows. Oh, the huge.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Just massive brows. A little peek behind the curtain. I got to take clippers to mine or they'll just wizard right now. Yeah, that's the thing that happens. Yeah, grandpa, grandpa brows. Good head hair on that devil baby though, which comes into play later, I guess. I know Gregory Rupak is 60 years old in this movie. I really don't like him. It's a weird casting decision, but like, like, it makes sense for, so so Gregory Rupak's character is a dignitary of some sort who ends up being the U.S. ambassador
Starting point is 00:04:45 to England. Which has to be like the easiest job in the world, right? You guys want to do this? Yeah, Yeah, cool. Anyway. But for that, I feel like he's really good casting, but for like the loving father of a newborn is really weird. Yeah, it's just not right. And he's not a very even like good husband or I. But the love, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the easiest, the to the easiest, to to to to to be to be the to be the to be the to be to be to be the the th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to the the the te te tea tea, tea, the easiest to to the But then I don't really like the wife either Lee Remick is the most put upon woman that ever existed in this movie like she's just like I don't know Like if we're let's compare and can dress this quickly with Rosemary's baby. Okay, you love roosts so much and you just want her to succeed you were like can't believe this happening to her this terrible thing they're you? the the to?? the to? too too the too too tho the tho the tho the tho tho tho the the they. tho they. tho they. they. they. they. their their their. they. they. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the. the. the. try. tttry. ttttttttttttttry. tttttttry. tttttell. try. ttell. the the tell.'re this terrible thing. They're keeping the secret from her and her, it's, you know, her baby. And you just love her and you root for her and you can't believe this is happening. I don't give a shit about Kathy.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Is her name Kathy? Yes. Okay, good. Like, I just don is sort of sad or whatever. And her kid does push her off a railing on his tricycle. Yeah. But I just don't feel like... Did you feel worse for the goldfish? Well, they didn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:05:53 No, I just don't have the same feeling of like wanting to like protect her the way you feel about Rosemary, you know? Sure. I think it's because they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're because they're because they're because they're because they're because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just because they're just, they're like Nancy Carrigan. What was the line from the song you said right? Oh, for fans of the band Schlong, the San Francisco punk band, they had a song, the song's title was Nancy Carrigan and her big fucking teeth, can he eat a bowl of poop loops. It was on their poop loop loop seven inch. Okay, cool, cool. Cool. I. I. I. I, cool. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th. I th. th, I th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they're, they're, they're, they're, they're they're they're just, they're just, like, they're they're they're they're they're like, like, like, like, they're they're they're the. the. the. the. loop 7 inch. Okay, cool, cool. Cool, cool. I don't know. It just seems like, they're just very entitled to a child that is their own and they
Starting point is 00:06:30 should have a child of their own and they shouldn't suffer like other reg people have to suffer, you know what I mean? And I wonder if it was that because they were like that's getting kind of ticked off in that. I mean, their relationship with this child is born out of a lie. Yeah. And that's going to come back and bite him in the ass. Yeah. We get a montage of Damien, which is what they named the child, growing and aging and real cute kid. They are like just not watching him
Starting point is 00:07:05 next to bodies of water and then wondering where he is like maybe watch your toddler next to this lake or whatever did you get a little don't look now tingle yeah yeah everybody should just watch their children next to bodies of water like why is that's a fucking hard imagine imagine imagine if the don't look now the sex scene had happened in this movie with Gregory Beck and Lee Remar. That would not be sexy. That's not sexy at all. So yeah, we watch him grow and we get to the point of where we are at a birthday party. This is where we meet the photographer, Nigel Tuffinel.
Starting point is 00:07:36 David Warner. What movie to have we done that David Warner is in? Spinal tap. Man, no, no, no, waxwork. Oh, yeah, you're right. All right, cool. He does look like Christopher Guest in Spinal Tap though, doesn't it? It's that shaggy, shaggy hair.
Starting point is 00:07:54 It's so funny to me. I just kept being like, come on, Nig. He's in time bandits. I, he's great in this. He's really the highlight of this movie. I think. And rocking a cravat like nobody's business. Making it look natural. Yeah, that weird Beatles hair cut and that cravatte is working it. Yeah, for sure. So he's a photographer. A paparazzi of some sort of, I guess. Well, he seemed to be like invited to the party. He wasn't like... He wasn't like... I don't know. He just sort of shows up and it's like everywhere from now on he would be around Robert Thorne. Yeah. So we meet the nanny who to tie her into previous episodes she is the daughter of Jack Palance from Without Warning. And every other movie ever made. Kathy takes Damien away from the nanny. She's like I'll take him for a little while and the nanny's obviously enamored with Damien. Yeah. Kathy takes Damien away from the nanny. She's like, I'll take him for a little while. And the nanny's obviously enamored with Damian.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Yeah. And then it seems like nobody else is paying attention to Damian. This child is being raised by the nanny. Yeah. So she takes the child and walks away and the nanny mind melts with a dog for a second. Yeah. The music that's happening much. It's so weird. The the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. thananananny. Mine is that's that's that's that's the nanny mind. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. Yeah. Namm. th. Namm. Namm. Nami. Nami. N. N. N. N. N. N. N. N. N. Nanny. N. Nanny. Nanny. M. M. Nanny mind. Nanny mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind mind. Mine. Mine the dog there? This is what the first time the dog did that? Yeah. Like, the music that's happening? Yeah. It's so good. It's so weird. And just like, you earn that Oscar, my man. So she goes up and hangs herself.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Super good scene. It says, it's all for you, Damian. She basically has everyone look at her as she jumps off the high window from the house and hangs herself. And Greg Rupert's reaction to that is great. He just goes, Tom. Tom runs to go take care of it. Like, yeah, go take care of that. Yeah. Well, that's why he's the US ambassador to the UK.
Starting point is 00:09:37 And you're not. I don't know. Yeah, that's fine. So the new nanny shows up. Mrs. Baylock. Like, and she's like, oh, the agency sent me. They've read about it in the newspaper. Like, did you not report this to the agency? You should have called them. Yeah, I can't tell how long it's been since that has elapsed.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Regardless. It seems like you're called toto the nanny agency to be like, what are your employees just fucking killed themselves at this kid's birthday party? What, you're wrong. Maybe he told Tom to call, and Tom hasn't done it yet. I don't know, Tom seems to snap too. That's true. Quick Wikipedia fact, Billy Whitelaw, the woman who plays Mrs. Baylock. She was Samuel Beck someone's muse is pretty nuts. Like, hmm. Seems uncomfortable. I've never been anyone's muses. No, who has? Wait, I guess
Starting point is 00:10:30 if I'm your muse, let me know. Yeah. If you're listening to this and just going, you know, I'm really inspired right now. Are they writing plays for you? I hope not because I am not going I played Epimetheus, Prometheus's brother, in a sixth grade, fifth grade. It didn't end well. No? No. What happened? Uh-huh. You we we we we we have.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Did you? Really? Oh, that was just a shot in the dark? Why did you do that? I have had so much shame about that for years. It's weird. How old are you? I don't that? I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. thi? tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. to. to-a. to-a. to-a. to-a. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. to-a. to-a. thi. th chest. It's weird. Yeah. How old are you? I don't know. What are you when you're in fifth or sixth grade? Like 11? 11? Yeah, the teacher. I was like,
Starting point is 00:11:09 oh, can I run into the bathroom? I get a pee real bad? And she's like, no, not yeah. We have to go take! But I was also on stage when it happens. Yeah, that's really hard. Yeah. What the fuck is this podcast turning into? I don't know. This is why we'll never do a live show is because you'll probably weigh yourself. Guys, if you want us to do a live show and let us know. Yeah, we're 'll talk about it. I don't know. It's just like I don't want anyone to look at me.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Why do it at all? I don't know. Maybe we'll just have a live show where we just play a pre-recorded recording of ourselves and we're like just sitting with our arms crossed. I like that. We're going to do a live show to sell those t-shirthirt theats theats theats tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts tha shirts that we that we that we that we're that we're that we're that we're that we're that we're eventually going to get made. Yeah, we paid for the design. Thanks, Justin. Yeah, thanks, Justin. Hopefully, that'll be happening soon. So yeah, Mrs. Baylaw comes and she's like, I'm the new nanny and they're like, oh, cool, cool, cool.
Starting point is 00:12:09 And they're like, oh, cool, cool. So, cool. So, so you're like, theylap, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, and, the, and, and, the, and, and, and, and, the, and, and, and, and, and, and, they, and, and, they, and, the, they, the, they, and, and, they, they, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, and, the, the, and, the, and, the, the, and, the, and, the, the, the, the, fine wife I don't you have no standing yeah not a lot of a not a lot of love for the ladies in this movie she does wear a great turban though so I mean maybe maybe it evens out Gregory Peck is impeccably dressed in this movie like there's a overcoat that he's wearing in the first scene that's so nice yeah it's a great 70s fashion. Yeah. So at some point they also run into this new priest who is like trying to warn him about Damian but it's doing a fucking terrible job of it. Is it not making a compelling case
Starting point is 00:12:56 from like if you went up to Gregory Peck and you're a priest and you were like listen I know what happened I know about the switch at birth and I just want you to know like there's something not the the the the the the the the the the the the.. the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the. the. the the. the. the. the the. the the. the the. the the. the the. the the. th. th. th. the th. th. they. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the the the the the the the the the.... And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And th. And. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. te. And. And. And. And. And. And. And, th. And the. And the. And, I know about the switch at birth, and I just want you to know, like, there's something not right about the child and we need to talk about it. He would be like, oh, okay, well at least I'll listen, but instead he's like, and the hounds of hell. You know what I mean? Like, Catholics are just always making the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the say that he's hopped up on morphine all the time. Oh, I didn't catch that. Yeah, he's riddled with cancer and hopped up on morphine and he's trying to get right
Starting point is 00:13:27 with God before he dies. We should have like maybe written out some notes first. And eagle-eyed nerds out there will recognize him as the second doctor. He was Doctor Who in like the 60s. I don't know. I'm still on Star Trek. I don't think there's ever an instance where a Doctor Who's Dick will come up. Really? Not even Dave Attendant? Probably got a good dick. I mean I'm sure you can go on Tumblr. Yeah, look. I don't want to look. What's wrong with you internet? So yeah the Crazy Priest? So yeah, the Crazy Priest, I feel like he's really good at being the crazy priest comes and he's, I feel like he's really good at being the crazy priest though, like he's nailing crazy priest.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Very believable. And David Warner's there taking pictures, because it's right after the suicide. So he's taking pictures of Robert Thorne and he, Robert Thorne knocks the camera out of his hand and offers to pay for it and he's like, hey buddy. Hey, you owe me one. Yeah. To which I just feel like, no, I'll just pay for that. I'm not going to owe you shit, dog. But Gregory Peck's like, all right. Okay. I wish you had written at an I owe you. Yeah. So they're going to like a wedding or something? Yeah, I had a church. Mrs. Bailock has a standoff with Kathy because Kathy wants Damian to be ready for the wedding and Mrs. Baylock doesn't want him to go to church. So they're driving up to the church and Kathy's like, he's just terrified. Look at him, he's terrified.
Starting point is 00:14:51 He's terrible. He does not look scared at all. Apparently, that kid was awful to work with. Really? Yeah. Richard Donner had Well, he's five. But like, it was still like to get, like, when we get to the end, there's a good story. Okay. A little anecdote we'll get to. Cool.
Starting point is 00:15:10 So he freaks the fuck out and knocks her beautiful turban off. Why is she wearing a turban? Is that a 70s thing? Yeah, it is a 70s thing. What do you mean if you could? You've got a great head shape. You can rock and turban. I just think that I need hair in front of my face. I have two, I have this big Italian nose, you know what I mean? I've thought about getting down with fezzes for a while. I think that's a mistake. I think you could do a beret nicely.
Starting point is 00:15:38 No, I just look like that. I just look just like that like that like that like that that that that that that that that that that that th. I'd just look just like that th. I'd just look like th th th th th th th th th th th th. I'd just look like thus. I just look like tho. I'd just look like th. I just look like tho. I just tho. I just tho. I just tho. I just th. I just th. I just th. I'd th. I'd th, I'd th, I'd th, I'd th, I'd th, I'd th, I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd th. I'd thus. I'd thus. I'd thi. I'd thi. I have thi. I have thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I have th. I have th. I have th. I th walrus dude from from mythbusters. Oh God. I have a picture of myself with a parade. I look just like him. That's all right. Oh, that's probably not nice to call somebody a walrus stooed, I apologize. We say a lot of unkind things in this show.
Starting point is 00:16:00 So he's clawing at her and freaking out and they're just like, drive, drive away. What is it, Horton? Is that the guy's not? Droughton. Drive on, drive on, Horton. So they go home and Gregory Peck's like, don't you think we should get a doctor? The mom's like, oh, I'm fine. Like, you're so laissez-faire about this child's health. She's like, he's like he's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi- thi-a- thi-a'-a'-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. tha. tha. tha. tha'-s. tha'-s. tha'-s. tha'-s. tha'-s. tha. thi. thi. to be fine. Like, he just freaked out. Yeah. You. It's the 70s where no one took care of their children.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Is that how it worked in the 70s? I don't know. I don't know. As far as I remember, yeah. Okay. But I was only two when this movie came out. Because I was two in 1976. The bicentennial. That was 40 years ago, holy shit!
Starting point is 00:16:50 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, I hope you live to see the tri-centennial. Oh, dude, I don't know how to. Well, I won't. Why wouldn't you? Well, because I'd be pretty old.
Starting point is 00:17:05 I'd be like 92. That's all Nanna is now. Hi Nunna. Hi Nanna. I'm killing it. See, see, see, see, see, see. I was going to say, see, see, to see you at Easter, but this was going to come out after Easter, so never mind. She knows, she could feel that in the universe. I told her she was internet famous and she said, okay.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Can we talk about how quickly Mrs. Baylock would be fired? I don't understand. Like, he, she's like, oh, did the dog give you a fright? Yeah, because it's fucking terrifying. That's not a dog. That's a fucking bearer. It's a beast. It's a monster. Yeah. It's the fucking. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster, it's a monster, it's a monster, it's a monster, it's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's a monster. It's the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the fucking. It's the, the, the the fucking, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the monster. the the monster. the Zool dogs from Ghostbusters. They're playing real, real loose finders keepers with dogs in England too, I guess. It's like, oh, we found this dog. He belongs to us now. Like, I don't think that's how it works. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Dogg is seriously scary. Terrifying. And apparently, judging by a scene that happens later, Europe is just littered with Rottweilers. Yeah. Loose, loose Rottweilers. Well, I don't know about their moles. Well, there's also loose baboons. Wait. Because the next scene, she's like hitting a baboon with her car. Well, they go to the zoo.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And in the 70s, we were real into driving through animals by animal parks. I didn't realize that was a thingthingthingthingthingthingthingthingthingthing thing thing thing in New Jersey. We would drive our station wagon through like the safari land, right? That's terrible. And it was a woody station wagon, because it was the 70s. Right. And the baboons ripped the wood paneling off the side of the station wagon. Of course they did. I mean, they would take, like, like, you. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. they. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the would steal it. Because you're not supposed to drive through the room house. No, no, no, you don't live, you're in their house. You don't go there.
Starting point is 00:18:46 That's how I feel with the ocean. Yeah. But, um, so a quick thing about that baboon scene. So they're sending it up that all the animals are terrified of Dam. Yeah, I love the scene. It's the scene. It's the scene. It's really. It's really. It's really. It's really. the scene. their. their. their. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. thi. thi. thi. Yeah that people just drive around them all the time, so they're totally docile. So they're one of the alphas is wounded and needs to have surgery done on it. So they put the alpha in the backseat of the car. What? Yeah. So, thiiiiiiwiiiii. and gets them to attack the car. Jesus. The alpha wakes up.
Starting point is 00:19:26 So when Lee Remick is screaming in the car, it's because the baboon has her by the hair and is pulling her backwards. That's monstrous. That's terrifying. That is so 70s filmmaking at it's like William Friedkin, smacking the priest in the face and like, just like, what do you do, or don't look now when when, when, when, when, when, when, when, or, when, or, or, when, or, or, or, when, or, or, or, or, or, the, or, the, the, or, the, the, the, the, or, the, the, the, or, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thoooomoomorrow, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, smacking the priest in the face and like just like what do you do or don't look now when Donald Sutherling was on the scaffolding and fell off or like he does the falling stunt like yeah like
Starting point is 00:19:51 that like just like fucking gorilla filmmaking but like on an enormous scale like oh yeah just put the fucking baboon in the car it'll be fine yeah he's not gonna wake up oh no oh no but on the commentary they're fine. Yeah he's not gonna wake up. Oh no oh no. But on the commentary they're talking about it like it was pulling her hair. What do you think they did? I'm sure oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit was said. Yeah Jesus. But that seems great too because it's terrifying with baboons to tackles. Oh my god. Yeah baboons are scary animals this weird tales. Oh and they're weird weird weird weird weird weird weird weird that goes. That goes. T that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's th. that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th. Oh tho's tho's tho's tho's tho's was th. Oh th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, the. Oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, the tho. Oh, tho. Oh, the. Oh, tho. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh. They have this weird tales. Oh, and they're weird, weird red pink butts. Well, yeah, that goes to that thing. Put on some fucking pants, baboons, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:20:29 Seriously, be decent. Be decent. This is where she starts to feel like something might be wrong with Damian. And she says this isn't I thought we were doing it. The beautiful people, the beautiful people. Ah! I think the flinstones were still around so there could be a character named Marilyn Manstone. That's pretty good. That is pretty good. I really do like that. I guess I should say I wish they were still around in the early 2000s. Yeah. Because no one gives a shit about him anymore. I think he's still touring. I th, th, th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the be their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. I'm tipeo-a. tipeo-a. tip-a. tip-a. tip-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a. I th. I'm th. I ththey were still around in the early 2000s. Yeah. Because no one gives a shit about him anymore.
Starting point is 00:21:06 I think he's still touring. I think he's still doing it. Yeah. I think they go to a rugby match? There's like 40 people on each. How many people play rugby at once? Scrumm! Is that?
Starting point is 00:21:16 There's just so many of them. Every time he's around, the photographer's father and he turns around and the photographer takes his picture, like stop it. I like the photographs. Yeah, it's a cool. Yeah, where there's a poor tent in the photograph of someone's death. So he took a picture of the nanny and when he developed it, she had a line that looked like a noose coming off of her neck. And he took it, takes a the the picture a the the picture a the the the the takes a takes a takes a takes a take, tooke, tooke, their their tooke. thii, tooke. tooke. tooke. tooke. tooke. tooke. the tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow. And, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow, tooomorrow. tooomorrow. tooomorrow. tooe. tooe. tooe. tooe. tooe. tooe. tooe. tooe. tooe. the the thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. thae. tog And he takes a picture of the priest and he's got some sort of line going through him. Yeah, like at an angle from above? Yeah, and the later on he takes another picture and the line is darker. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. And then later, later he takes a picture of himself and there's a line across his own neck.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Hmm. Well I don't think anything is gonna come in that. So we're fine. So the priest manages to track down the, oh yeah, he takes the picture after the priest goes up to Gregory Peck and he's like, hey man, tomorrow me me in the park, we're gonna talk about some shit and Gregor Peck's like cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. I'm gonna go get drunk with this rugby th. this rugby this rugby this rugby th. I th. I th. I th. I the rugby th. I the rugby th. I the rugby th. I the rugby th. I's the ru. I's th. I's the the th. So tre' tre' tre' tre' tre' true true true true true true true true true true true true true true true trease tre's tre's tre's treorrow they meet up. Yeah. And the priest is like, this is what's happening. Antichrist, Antichrist. Yucca is the Antichrist. And he told, does he tell him about Dr. Bougain-hagen? Dr. Bougain-hagen. Sounds like a delicious ice cream. I would eat the shit out of some booggin.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Looked, thii. Look at that moose tracks. So, and then the priest has to run away because a windstorm started. Well, I have a note here that says Satan was always in it for the money, but I don't know what that refers to. Do you remember? No. I thought he did it all for the nookie. You're really hitting like, like, the late 90s alternative radio, TRL hard right now, and I'm finding it very surprising.
Starting point is 00:23:08 So you can take that cookie and stick it up your yeah, stick it up your yeah, it's on the radio. Is that a lyric from that song? Yeah, that's the next line. Oh, I only know it from the, I only know it from other people quoting the nooky, oh, that's the next line. So you can take that cookie and stick it up your, on the, I'm sure on the album it's ass, but I've only ever heard the song on the radio.
Starting point is 00:23:29 I wanted it to be poopy. Stick it up your poopie? Well, get Fred Durst on the line. Nope. I've seen a horror movie with Fred Durs. It is not bad. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to to to be. th. the the th. to be. to be. to be. I'm. It's like 532 or something. And it's about this... And Jeremy Sisto is in it?
Starting point is 00:23:50 Whom I really like? We the fuck is Jeremy Sisto! He's out in from Clueless. You'll know when you see him. It's basically a movie where this is born another person has to die basically and he's the cop and he's actually pretty good in it. He looks like such an asshole. Oh Jeremy Sisto got you. Yeah population 436. Okay 436. It's pretty decent. I don't know. I just really like Jeremy Sistow. Yeah he's a yeah he's a poor man's Paul Rudd but he's not he's a... he's a... He's a middle-class Paul Rudd. He's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a he's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a thi-I's a thi-I's a thi-I's a thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. He's a thi, he's a, yeah. I was going to say he's a poor man's Paul Rudd, but he's not. He's a... He's a middle class, Paul Rudd.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Also, nobody's Paul Rudd, but Paul Rudd. Oh. Oh, yeah, so he meets to the priest, and then the priest runs away and lightning is striking all around him. And he gets to the church. And he's beating on the door door thrires priest, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, tho, tho, tho, th, th, th. th. th. th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He's, tho, th. He's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He, he. He, he. He, he. He, he. He, he. He, he. He, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's a the the the the the the the th. He's a th. He's a th. He's a th. th. th. tho. He's a th. He's a the th. He's a the the church. And lightning strikes the church. He's beating on the doors trying to get in. I was going to make some sort of sonic screw driver joke there, but I backed off from it. And then lightning strikes the church and a metal rod falls and impales him. And it's awesome. One of the best deaths in movie. One of, just the framing of that shot, a framing of that shot, hot fuzz fan? Do you like the movie Hot Fuzz? You never see it.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Oh, it's Sharn of the Dead, like Simon Peg and Nick Frost, those two. I bet I would like it. It's their, it's their, like, it's their, but it's also got like elements of horror. And they like, they do a nodd. to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, the, the, the, to, the, the, to, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, to... to. to. to. to. the, the, to. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, like, like, like, like, like can't remember who plays the husband. They do that exact death again. Like it's the same, it's like basically shot for shot. Oh that's awesome. Yeah. Is the whole remake basically shot for shot? I think it's pretty similar. I haven't seen it since it came out. I think I think I saw in the theater. It was in that period a shot for shot, it's like, why bother?
Starting point is 00:25:47 Why bother? Yeah. Here's a question of speaking of why bothering? Why did Satan not nail the priest before he tells the dad the next steps and the vital information? Satan, your timing is poor. Um, because, well, do you want me to go deep on this? Sure, I mean I'm asking. Because he had to set up the chain of events that would get the baby where it needed to be by the end of the film.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Get the baby where it needed? Oh, the... Get Damien where he needed to be. Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. To set up the inside of their house where Damien's just like running around being a five-year-old. Yeah, yeah. And the mom is so mad about it.
Starting point is 00:26:31 I just, maybe you should play with him. Maybe you should try interacting with him. I don't know. Maybe he's... May I quote my own note? I think Lee Remick's dealings with Damien are a large reason why I got a vasectomy oh god because I was like oh yeah that would be really annoying if that kid was just clacking and pool balls when I have a
Starting point is 00:26:53 headache yeah but that's what they did it's a child she asks her husband to her husband to find her a therapist find her on fucking therapist do you need him involved in everything? I know it's the 70s. I know it's the 70s. 70s is well in women's lib. She should have been like... But I'm saying it's much more common that there'd be holdouts. Sure. Sure. And they seem to be that, they seem to be a holdout from that. They're very, like a 1950s family. For sure. And like very proper and very like, oh, that, oh, oh, oh, th, oh, oh, th, oh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. But, thto to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the ki. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I ki. I ki. I ki. I ki. I ki ki ki ki ki th. I the try assistant. Not so much a husband. Just a PA. Yeah. So she gets knocked up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Well, there's that scene in the beginning where they shut the shutters and go to bone zones. I tuned out. I don't, you know, I don't do that. It's lovely and then... Oh yeah, you're right. He lays down his jacket and he's like, mom, tick, bon, bicker, go, boom, bicker, go, boom. I found that. No.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Is it weird because I'm sitting on an exercise ball bouncing? It's making it weir thear. It's making it weir to have any more kids, she wants an abortion. And he says no, right at home in the US government with this anti-abortion shit. Yeah, yeah. Pretty nuts. Yeah, yeah, what Roe v. Wade was passing, what, 73? I don't know of what the abortion laws in England are, but yeah, I don't know at all. In 1976, pretty cray. Yeah, but I was like oh yeah I'm just taking that on pretty into that. Yeah. He just says no. Well he does take care of everything. Not this, he's not taking care of this. And the the priest has told him that she's pregnant before he gets impaled and he says that Damien's
Starting point is 00:29:04 going to kill the baby and then her. Yeah. And he does. Spoiler. Spoiler. Damien's riding around in the circle in this trick. Tch-chick-chick-chick-chick. Oh, yeah, I keep wanting to call Mrs. Bailock. the basketball star the basketball star. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And, and th. And, and th. And, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he does, and he does, and he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, he, he, he. And he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he. And he. And he. And he, and he. And he, and he, and he. And he, and he. And he, and he. And he, and he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. And he does. original name for Pearl Jam. And, uh...
Starting point is 00:29:25 Really? Yeah, they called them to Mookie Blaylock. Did he serve them by the season desist? I mean, I think it was probably like, oh, we probably shouldn't name ourselves after that dude. Yeah, because he's a dude. Although there was that emo of the door and Damien shoots out in his tricycle like he just been winding up and like,
Starting point is 00:29:48 And Lee Remick has pulled an end table over to try and reach a plant, I think? Where is the help? The help should be doing that? You seem to have so much fucking help. Maybe this is why she never went to do anything because it always went terribly te. to the tha' th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. the, thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the, thi, the, the, thi, thi, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thin, thin. And, thin. And, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, the. And, tha. And, thae. Yeah, thau. Yeah, thae. Yeah, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thribly wrong. Every time she does anything she basically dies. So he comes ripping out and knocks the end table and knocks her off the, she's on the balcony. Yeah. And she's hanging from the railing and Damien's kind of like, oh word, what's going on? Yeah. And the goldfish have fallen. And this goldfish have fallen. And I'm sure as they hit as a really beautiful scene dead. They're dead. They're dead. I think they're still, as far as I know, I looked on Wikipedia, those go fish are still. So they're still working, still working.
Starting point is 00:30:29 They were in Finding Nemo, it was great. I couldn't think of another fish movie. I mean, how many fish are they? I don't know. No, it's about a basketball team. Oh yeah. They were all Pisces. Why do I know that? Why do you know that? I don't know. A fish called Wanda? All right, all right, yeah, there's goldfish in. Mermaid's with share.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Don't flip the table. Don't have days of thunder. Don't tas of London? No. So and then she falls. She falls like, I don't know, like 30 feet. She's so high up. Yeah. And the scene is great and really atmospheric and weird because it looks really weird because when she's falling, she's not falling. Qua. The way they did it was they rebuilt the floor so that it stood up like a wall and she's on a dolly spinning and they're just rolling her across so if you watch it her hair is perfectly normal oh that's interesting yeah she's just spinning and then
Starting point is 00:31:35 hits the floor and so but it gives it this really odd quality for the whole thing it does it does feel strange but I didn't realize that that was why because I don't think you would spin that much when it fell. You would have to be very thrown at an angle, I guess. There's got to be some torque right at the beginning. You really get you going. You need some torque on that thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:54 So meanwhile, Nigel Tufn-I'm going to go to Gregory Pack and the the thin. Rome. Well, right after she falls, because in the hospital after she's fallen, he's like, oh, I've got to go and check this thing out. What a Dildo. I gotta go to Dr. Buchenhagen. And he, and Nigel Chuffinel's like, let me help you, and he's like, no, I can do, this is my problem. Like, you tho' the dead priest's house and his room that he had. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:25 And I have to tell you that I want to decorate a room with like this, because he's just plastered the entire room with Bible pages and crosses. And it looks so creepy and good. I don't think you should do that. I don't think that on HGTV. I don't think it'll help you a resale value. Property brothers are like nah, nah, nah. There has to be a by my haunted house show. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:51 That's got to exist. If not, I don't think so. Copyright, copyright, copyright. You never heard this. Be surprised when it happens. Look to the new host of By my haunted house. Was you Rick Gasly? Rick Gastley? Thanks Justin Gray for making the Rick Gasly picture for me. It's pretty amazing. It's so good. Anyway, so they go to
Starting point is 00:33:11 the hospital, they find out that the baby, the Begott's mother is buried in like a weird cemetery? Well they found out that the hospital had a fire, all the records were burnt and the nursery, and then that the guy who was...the. The. the the the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the th. th. th. the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. was burnt. Yeah. And then that the guy who was... The next day or later that day after the birth. The guy who was running the hospital. The guy with the eyebrows? Yes, got horribly burnt and sent to a monastery. And the elevators in the hospital are the best things ever and I wouldn't ride them. They're just constantly moving. Yeah, yeah. It looks scary. I would get in that thing, I wouldn't get that. I think it's smushed between the thing and the thing and then you die in an elevator and roam, I don't want that. It did look like it would fuck you up if you got caught. They were they were trucking it and they were not messed around.
Starting point is 00:33:53 But I love that sort of efficiency of just like just keep them going, just keep those elevators running and running. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just. Just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's, I. It's, I. It's, I. It's, I's like, it. It's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, th. It's just just, th. It's just just just just, it's just, it's like, it's like, it. I'm as Agil as a nun. So... Agilus and none. That's a, that's a common, common cliche. Look at that guy, it says, Agilis and none. So, yeah, they go to the monastery to visit the now deformed priest and you find out that he is wonderfully burnt and, like, there's some like Bible quote about like when you renounce God you lose the ability to use your right arm and your right eye goes blind. Something like that. Yeah and that's what's happened to him and he can't really speak but he can write a little with his left hand. Yeah. And he's like how do you know that he renounce God and it's like well he drew this picture of like a stick man with a crescent moon over top it? Oh I see I see I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the. thus thus the. the. the. And tho tho tho tho tho tho the. And the. Yeah, the like, tho the like, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th and th th and th th. And th is thu the liked is the liked is the like the like the an the an the an the an the an thean thean thean thean thean thean the an thean the an the an the an th66 next to it? That's right, that's right. So then he writes the word
Starting point is 00:34:48 Servette. Yeah. And the guy's like, oh, no, that's this old Etruscan cemetery. I was like, you're kind of awesome. You just have atruskin shit hanging out. Why were they buried in this cemetery of ruins again and why were they not just ditched? I feel like there has to be a reason. Satan? I don't know for this cool set piece that's gonna happen that reminds me of like universal horror movies. Yeah. So they go and they dig up and they find that the mother was a dog or a jackal. It's so dark on the the DVD version I felt like I couldn't tell what was in there. There's just some dog bones bones the their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. There's just some dog bones in there. Yeah, but I wanted to see them. And then they, he's like, well, maybe my child's not dead, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:35:27 and then they open it up in a child's head. There's a child's corpse and there's a hole in the child's head where they just like crushed its brain. Yeah. And then the dog show up and he's like don't run, run, run. Which I really liked. That dog attack is horrifying. Yeah, it's probably the scariest thing in the movie. Yeah, for sure. And then he does get, he's looking for, he's looking for Dr. Boughgan. Right, they get back to the hotel after the dog. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. to. the the tap. to. the the tap. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. th. th. their. their. their. their. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog. the. th. th. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. tog. tog. tog. tog. tog. t. tog. tog. tog. tog. th. tog. th. the the tog. the th. th. ougainhagen. Right, they get back to the hotel after the dog attack and they're like and he gets the phone called the Kathy's dead because Mrs. Baylock has gone to the hospital and pushed Kathy out the window. Yeah because he's called Kathy and like, they're like, oh girl we got a good room
Starting point is 00:36:12 let's do this. Yeah. And she's dead in the back of that scene. So then he's, the day Warner's like, oh your wife's dead, do you remember the guy's name? He's like, booggin, hugge. So sad. And admittedly, you should be sad, your wife's dead. And admittedly, you should be sad, your wife's dead. But then immediately rescinds that. Yeah, he. Yeah, he. Yeah, he. Yeah, he. Yeah, he. the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. the th. the th. the th. the th. th. the the thi. the the the thi? thi. the the thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I want Damian to die too. Yeah. But then immediately rescinds that because they go to visit Bougain Hugg and Bougain Huggins just happens to have all the knives you need to kill the Antichrist hanging out
Starting point is 00:36:53 on a table. And he's not into stabbing athe sand pile to do to do to do well he throws those knives like a fucking baby child like don't throw a temper tandermen if he hadn't thrown those knives David Warner would have been fine I'd still be alive to this day is he alive yeah cool and but so in probably my favorite death sequence in the movies so in a the. Oh really more so than. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I. De. De. So, th. th. th. De. De. De. De. I just think that's like the best death in movies. It's so beautiful. But this is just so like Rube Goldberg device. It really is. A guy sets a handbreak on a truck and the handbrake is in the worst place ever because when you get out of the truck, your butt hits the hand and a sheet of plate glass comes off and just fucking decapitates it and they they could only do the shot once. They had one shot at this. Oh really? Yeah. But I love because there's not like a spray of blood that comes out of him or anything. Yeah. But when the plate glass hits the table behind him in the building all the coffee and bugs are filled with red liquid. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. th. th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, the thi. Yeah, the the the th. Yeah, the the thi thi thi thi thi they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I, th. I I, th. Yeah. I, th. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. I, thi. I thi. I thi. I theeeeeeeeat. I theeeeat. I theeeat. I theee. I theee. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, the coffee and bugs are filled with red liquid. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:38:05 So it's like, that's how they kind of got away with like having a blood feel to it. And his head kind of like pops off and rolls. It's just like, it comes right off. His shocked looking face. I love it. It's so cool. Had to have throw captained that be like, would you go, oh my god?
Starting point is 00:38:31 Or would you just go, oh shit? Like I feel like I would have like shocked and they'd be like, oh my god, he's dead. He just doesn't seem to have that. There's not a lot of emoting from, uh, no, he looked like he kind of didn't want to be in this movie yeah well it was a horror movie and they they did not have the best no I guess what was he doing in this baby I don't know yeah I mean it's it's got a lot of like higher-end actors in it and stuff yeah it's just what I don't know so then he takes his knives and gets on a plane in a pre-911 world where you can just take a pack of knives on a plane like, I guess he's probably diplomatic passport or whatever, but where is he taking? It has to be done at a church, it has to be done on an altar.
Starting point is 00:39:11 He has to be killed on an altar of God. So he basically like picks up Damien and goes to the church with him? Well first he has to trick the dog and hiding, getting it, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, to, to, to, to to to to be, to be, to to to th. the, to to to to to to to to to the, to the, to the, the, the, the, the, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, the, where, the, where, the, the, the, where, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is.. ta, ta, ta, ta, ta, ta. took, ta, ta, ta. ta. ta. ta. ta, ta, ta, ta, tthe getting it into the basement. Oh yeah, good job of that. And then he has to fight the nanny. Yeah, he has to fight the nanny. Yeah, this is Baylock, yeah. Who's just like a whirling dervish at that point. Just Nanny assassin. Nanny assassin in like soap pajamas. So he does kill her by sticking for Satan to be a five-year-old boy. Yeah, thirty. Yeah, to to to the to the to th. to the to th. the tho-sock. tho-sock. tho-sock. tho' tho' thi-sock. thi-sock. tho' thi-o' tho' thirty, thi, the thi, thi-s, thirty, thia thia the the thi, the the the the the the nan, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi-s. Yeah, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s. Yeah, the. Yeah, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thi. thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, the. Yeah, good. And then, yeah, he, football, he, Heisman carries like, the thing about that is just like, it must suck for Satan to be a five-year-old boy because you're just so ineffectual. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? Like, you can't, you don't know the physicality to take on anybody.
Starting point is 00:39:54 So he drives away from the, his quarters, his quarters. And the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, and the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, the cops, their, their, the cops, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th thi, thi, th thi, thi, th th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th. th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi, to thi, to thi, thi, thi, thi, thi he's the ambassador to America. So, and they're like, oh shit, something's gone wrong, the ambassador is sped away. And so they follow him to the church where he's trying, he's just about to stab Damian in a really sad scene where Damian is like, no, daddy, no. But this is after he's cut his hair and seen that he has the 666 on his scalp. We did forget to mention that. Yes. So he knows he's a bat. He's the right. Right. Right. Right. And so he doesn't love that. He never loved that child. No one never loved that child. No one no one never loved that child. Maybe Mrs. Baylock. I don't. And the nanny who's a woman I believe loved him. Yeah. Okay. No one. No one has ever loved that child. No. No. No. No one. No. No. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No one. No one. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No one. No. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No one. No. No. No. No. so sad. So... Just a status symbol to these people. It's my devil baby. Yeah. Oh, you don't have the difference.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Maybe that's the difference is because Rosemary is so excited about this baby because she desperately wants to be a mother. Whereas, Kathy is just like, this is the next step. This is the next step. this is the thing I need to complete this set. Yeah. Yeah. So he's about to stab Damien. He's not having it. And as he's bringing the knife down, there's a slowmo bullet.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Yeah. We forgot to mention when they, you don't have to drag it out. And the movie ends with the funeral for Robert and Kathy, which is attended by, we forgot to mention that Robert's college roommate is the president of the United States. Who is the president? It would have been Carter. the real southern. the I guess I would have been Ford in 76. Yeah. Carter would have gotten elected that year. And inaugurated in 77? Yeah. Okay. So yeah. And then we have this great scene of like they're showing the funeral, the military funeral with honors. And then it pans down to Damien
Starting point is 00:41:57 and he turns to look at the camera and he's got these mean mugging the camera and then he's holding hands between the first lady and the president........... to... to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the. the. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. the. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah...... Yeah............................................................................... Yeah........... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah then he smiles. Yeah, that's when the... Holding, holding hands between the first lady and the president. Yeah, and they're like, Mr. President, we're ready to go so you know it's the president. Yeah, and that's the way the movie ends. It's great ending. Yeah, I love when a bad guy wins. Oh sure. Yeah, it doesn't happen often enough enough. No, no, no, but Satan seems to, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, to, to, to, to, the the the the the the the same, the sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa. the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, the the the the Satan, the Satan, the Satan, to, to, the the to, the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. thi. that. that. the. the the the. the the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. to thi. to th. to to win a lot. True. Has anyone ever defeated Satan in a movie? Yeah, the exorcist. Just, that's just like that branch of Satan, though. That's just that particular Satan. I think is Damian the big Satan? Or is he just a little Satan the way that Reagan is a little Satan?
Starting point is 00:42:39 Ronald? No, isn't that the name of the little girl? Isn't that one divorced character? I was just thinking about how people called Ronald Reagan the Devil. But anyway. So I wanted to talk real quick about that end scene because that's where Richard Donner sort of hits home, that how annoying to work with this kid was. So the whole thing was he did not shooting the scene going, don't smile, do not smile, I will never talk to you again if you smile. Oh, this is a kindergartner we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:43:09 So the kid smiles. Yeah. And I think it's way better than not smiling. It's like him going, it's perfect. Yeah. I'll never talk to you again if you don't. Probably never talk to to to to that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid that kid again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again againto that kid again anyway. But one of the thing that I learned from the commentary was that Richard Donner had them play this like there was nothing weird going on.
Starting point is 00:43:31 It was just like a psychological movie. It wasn't an occult, like supernatural movie. So like kind of play it like you're just having a breakdown. Okay. Play it like you're losing your mind. And Kathy certainly seems to be. Sure. I feel like like the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the, the the, the, the. thi the, the, the, the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the, the, the, the, the, the. I'm the. I'm thea. I'm theauuuuu. I'm toeauuu. I'm theauu. I'm theau. theau. thea. thea. thea to be. Sure. I feel like Robert is unflapped through most of it, unfazed. Yeah, yeah, but that like that almost that certainty that something so ridiculous is happening kind of like says to me that like, oh, you've lost your fucking mind if you think this is what's happening right now?
Starting point is 00:44:00 Yeah. Yeah, it's pretty, it's an interesting take. I don't know if that's in 2000 or whatever when he did the commentary, he was like, oh yeah, that's what we did. Yeah, hindsight on that one. And apparently there's a curse, supposedly, that goes along with this movie or a bunch of the people who worked on it died. Really? Like, cultured-aisty style. Yeah, but, you know. You know, or I'd be them. So there were sequels to this?
Starting point is 00:44:26 Yeah, there's a, there's, but none of them are worth. I've never seen any of them. Yeah. Although the second one I do remember having a really cool scene where someone gets their eyes pecked out by crows. Oh, that's cool. But, yeah, there's, they're not, they're nothing to ride home about. I just want to tell you that in the 2006 remake, Leave Shriver plays Robert. Oh, really? And Mia Farrow is the Nanny.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Ah. So that's kind of nice. Yeah. And I think the guy who plays Dam in the original has like a cameo in the original has like a cameo in that's why they did. Oh, nailed it at 6 a.m. Yes. So do you want to move on to a ratings face? Sure. You want to go first? Ratings?
Starting point is 00:45:10 FACE? All the ratings. Yes, I love this movie. I think this movie. I think this movie is fantastic. Yeah. I'm going to give this movie. thine 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9. and a half whatever we give movies. Whoa. I think it's great. I think it's like mandatory viewing for anybody who likes film,
Starting point is 00:45:25 and especially anybody who likes horror movies. Yeah. And anybody who loves Satan like I do. Love Satan. Like as a concept or as your Lord and Master? Whatever I got to do to give me through the day. No, it just says the concept. As the, you know, like the opposite, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, yeah, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, yeah, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the opposite, the, the, the, yeah, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, yeah, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, tha., tha., tha., th a product of the 80s, where like, the satanic panic and all that stuff, like, I loved heavy metal and D&D and all that stuff,
Starting point is 00:45:48 so it was like, I like Satan. I mean, I'm in league with him, he's my man. Um, cool, cool, cool. I also really like this movie. Okay. I was raised Catholic. Oh. And I can't have none. I think I'm in league with Satan. No, no. I mean, I've got him touching to my forum, so I just started. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:09 It's right. It's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah, watch this movie. What? You guys? to be? the, You probably own it on DVD. If not, I'm sure you can rent it. But do you know what else you should own?

Oh yeah, have we ever mentioned the cave doesn't have fingers? Ah, the t- What are you to, this is why I have the knife.

I really like that. That is amazing. Holy crap, look at this magnet. There's a giant jackalaner wearing a witch hat magnet. This is so festive. Yeah, this is great.
