Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 81- Saw (2004)

Episode Date: May 9, 2016

Well, we had to do it sometime. In this week's episode we're discussing the 2004 granddaddy of grisly 'what would you do?' movies, "Saw." Special topics for you to consider include: several people who... are wonderful but specifically Danny Glover and reggae fusion artist Shaggy, terrible parenting, possible career paths that Jigsaw could have explored, bad accents, whether or not "Saw" is actually just kind of a bunko "Se7en," things that could have gone wrong that would have foiled this entire film's plot and the return of "Mailbag!" What are your thoughts on "Saw"? Did you like it? Did you like any of the sequels? Are you secretly (or not-so-secretly) a huge fan of yuck-out torture horror? Let us know at facebook.com/werewolfambulance, on Twitter @werebulance or on Instagram @werewolfambulance. Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, what? What? Where? Where am I? Oh. What's going on? You're in your attic. Yeah, I am. We're doing a podcast. Oh, this is all my stuff. That's your stuff. Katie, do you have a cold? I'm not feeling well. Let's play a game. It's a pandemic. Is it the new expansion? I'll play that.
Starting point is 00:00:39 I've heard it's really fun. At the end of it, are you going to slam a door and say game over? Yes. And I don't want to do this. I'll be late on the floor the floor the end of it, are you gonna slam a door and say game over? Yes. And I don't want to do this. I'll be laying on the floor the entire time. Oh, this is a were-wilf ambulance. No. I'm Alan.
Starting point is 00:00:55 I'm Katie. We watched saw saw. We saw saw saw. We saw saw saw. We did saw saw. We saw saw saw. We did see saw. Did you guys see saw? You've probably seen saw even if you didn't see saw for us specifically for this saw purpose. Right? I feel like it's a movie everybody's seen. So you don't think they saw saw saw simultaneously with us seeing saw? I would think most people don't want to see saw again. So they probably just are counting on the last time they saw saw to six sequels to this movie or five sequel to this movie would
Starting point is 00:01:25 say differently. Oh yeah it's probably true. I've seen several of them. Holy smokes. Yeah once they were on cable on demand I think it was when I got my wisdom to that at the same time I was watching like a lot of ghost hunters and I just watched like four saw movies in a row because I just hated everything you know like I couldn't thrown a the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I was th. I was th. I was tho. I was the. I was th. I was th. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just I was just I was just I was just I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was. I was I was I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was liked. I was liked. I was liked. I was liked. I was liked. I was like. I was liked. I was like th. I was like th. I was like th. I was like th. I was like th. I was like th. I was like th. I was like th. I was just threw a hole in my mouth the size of like a pee because I was all small and I was just barbing like, There's a hole in my mouth that can only be filled by puke. Yeah, I mean, it made the horror industry lose its mind. Because then suddenly everyone was making these movies. mind. Yeah, I mean, it made the horror industry lose its mind because then suddenly everyone was
Starting point is 00:02:08 making these movies. It was like, you're in a room, would you cut your hand off, you mother fucker? You know? Why do they call it torture porn? Is someone masturbating this? I mean, I guess if you're enjoying it, you're probably stroking a little bit. I don't know. It's, uh, the experience I had watching it now is totally different than the experience
Starting point is 00:02:31 I feel like I had watching it in like 2005. Did you see it in the theater? No, I did not. Okay. But, well, we'll get into it. But, you rented this on Amazon, right? Yes. Why were we forced to rent the unrated version? I don't know. I guess rated version, the R version, and it was like six minutes shorter than the unrated version, so I don't even know what was made up in it, but you're saying it was only you were saying earlier? I was reading something they were like 24 seconds of extra stuff or
Starting point is 00:02:57 eight seconds of extra stuff. There's just like little shots of like a little linger on some gore and stuff. That's dumb. I don't remember being any different than when I saw it the first time in 2004. I did see this in the theater. Oh, did you? I was real big into reading Roomorg magazine back then. And they were hymn the, and they were hymn thiole. And they're like, it's got a, Zialo? Zalo. There you go. You know, and it's hearkening back to Argento and all the stuff and I was like, is it?
Starting point is 00:03:30 It is a little bit, it's got a little bit of that like, there's the scene where Carrie Elwis is accused of the crime and then I'm like, oh by there were a lot of things in this movie that I feel like are just mistakes. Well, apparently they had a really short shooting time for this. Okay. Well, they were all busy doing other things. Oh man. No, they weren't. So everything had like two takes and it kind of shows. It does. One of the first notes I have is, hi-carry always, your US accent is better than it was in days. And then the next one I said is, maybe not. His accent is terrible.
Starting point is 00:04:09 I don't know why they don't just let him be. It wouldn't be fine if he was British. This is, yeah, this is like the Arnold Schwarzenegger effect of last week. I have no problem with them if they have an accent. Come on. Isn't that what they assume about the viewing? I mean, is that really it? I guess we'll think that he's like upper crust or something if he's British?
Starting point is 00:04:35 Yeah, they won't want to identify it. Why would we want this doctor who is clearly very wealthy and well to do to be perceived as being upper crust. Yeah, and a piece of shit to his family. So I definitely want to identify with this guy, so that'll be a good time. Although, like, he's really not, like, okay, here's the problem I was having with this movie and this may be because I've seen the sequels and I thought that going into it, the premise was on its face that loud, it sounds so ridiculous. It was stupid. I like want to put it back in my mouth. He like... Zip was up, I zippos. Was punishing people who were bad, who had done
Starting point is 00:05:10 done bad things and you made them think about the bad things they had done. Which I think is more the premise in later movies. Or the premise of seven. Or the premise of seven. Well, this movie got accused of kind of ripping off. But 7 is a great movie. Yeah, fantastic. David Fincher, amazing. This is- What's in the box? Oh. Fuck one of the paltrow, though, am I right?
Starting point is 00:05:32 Fuck your outfits and your food. You know what I'm saying? Doop. What a dumb, dumb. Seriously, what a dumb dumb. Oh my god, anyway. In watching this, going into it, I kept thinking like, these guys do something bad. But like, Carrie always doesn't actually cheat on his wife. And what's the other guy, the photographer, Adam? He's not really even a bad guy. I mean, Carrie Owest, he took a phone call
Starting point is 00:05:54 while he was supposed to be helping Jigsaw, right? And so therefore, he has to die. Yeah, like that's just so dumb Mm-hmm I concur But America did not because this movie did really well And like the girl that gets the trap put on her face She's just a drug addict the guy who gets put in the wire the barbed wire. He's just suicidal like depressed people are not bad people Drugs are not bad people like
Starting point is 00:06:23 I got really angry watching this movie about how they were not bad people. Dramedics are not bad people. Like I got really angry watching this movie about how they were not bad people and shouldn't be punished but then I guess that's not even really the premise of the film so I don't know where I was like assigning it. I think that's loosely the premise of the film. Is it thou? Yeah. But then why would you menace a child? You know what I mean? why thinne? that daughter. Because you've got to learn a... I don't know. She's just a child. It's not a well-executed premise of the film, but I think it is... When she's a terrible actress? The child?
Starting point is 00:06:52 She's just a child. I mean, the mom's also awful, but... Yeah, and so it's the movie. Yeah, him and James Juan wrote the movie. I mean I should say for the record that like I kind of hate but like All right, I'm gonna say I hate it but it's not for me like their sub-genre of horror that they've made on to themselves. They have made an empire out of like the conjuring and insidious and saw and Annabelle and those are different aren't they sort of a different genre than this sure but you're talking about just like they're building of the but they all have a similar thing to me of where they feel too clean okay they're all very clean and very like there's no like crusta the theyreau's theyreau's theyreau they're like uncrustables mom can't have a to be a toa notree so much I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I the thable thable thable the same san-I I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thable. th th th they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're to to to to try to to tttttry to tttry to to tttry tttry they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're a frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwich. What are you telling? When, what world do we need that?
Starting point is 00:07:46 Don't, don't Google it. I don't even want to see it. I don't even want to see it. I'm not trying to be Gwinnith Paltzor about this shit, but just make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You see that I would eat. So, but it's like, it's, to me, it's like, you could get a nice hearty peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or you could get an uncrustible. I understand. I understand.
Starting point is 00:08:12 They're like, there's not a lot going into them. Well, this movie has a very complicated plot. And I kept thinking, there are so many ways this could go wrong. Like, what if Adam just drowned the first scene and then nothing I'm like, at what point would Jigsaw get up off the floor and be like, Oh, fuck did he die? He's like, also like this cancer patient just laid there unmoving for hours and hours? It's actually the thing that ruins any possibility of this movie
Starting point is 00:08:40 being good for me. That last scene, the last s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I is is thi. I is thi. I's thi. I's thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm me. That last scene, the last twist? Yeah. Oh, by the way, it's spoilers. Oh, yeah, we're going to do the spoiler for this movie that everybody's seen. Can we just talk about all Danny Glover is the only competent actor in this movie? Why is he in this movie? I love him. He's so good. And he does that crazy laugh, he's like, I saw D-Purple. I saw color purple when I was really young. Very different things. I wish you'd seen D-Purple though. That's pretty good, man. Spoke on the water, it's good channel.
Starting point is 00:09:12 And he's a shitty, shitty human being in that movie. And like Danny Glover kind of got like locked in as being a shitty person. But then like, I'm like, no, it's a guy from lethal weapon. And I love the guy from lethal weapon, but it's still like, he's still like, uh, I think he's a good guy, IRL, though. Roll into unions and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, big, big lefty. Yeah. Um, so there's no way tobacks. There's when he's at the police station listening to he's flashing back carry a ways is flashing back to
Starting point is 00:09:47 himself in the police station listening to this woman testimony or statement about what happened to her even though he's a suspect in this which is not how this works. Yalo. She's flashing back within that flash I cannot. I love that reverse a trap thing I think that's totall. It's tholy. It's the the tho. the most the most the most. the most. the most. the most. the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the. th. the. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah..................................................................................................... the.. the. the. the. the. thing. I think that's totally terrifying. It's gross. Probably the most, the scariest thing in this movie. Sure. Also, she has it on for wait more than 60 seconds, but.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Oh yeah, she's gone for like 25 minutes. Yeah. And also they do that thinne, a thr nails video just to show you how scary this is like that's scary enough on its face you don't need to be Trent Reznor about it I mean it's cool in a nine-inch nails video and it was at the time but it's not in this movie. It's some dude from a air conditioning empire and is yelling that he wants to fuck me like an animal I'd rather see that the rin' true there. You got a little Resner... Little Resner. Did you guys know that? Trent Reznor's grandfather is like the king of HVAC in the western Pennsylvania or was,
Starting point is 00:10:53 and he can find his stuff in a lot of old buildings. Okay, so Carrie Always and other guy, what is, we'll call him the doctor? Because in every movie where someone's a doctor, all you get is reminders that they're a fucking doctor. Yeah, you want Dr. Lawrence Gordon or whatever. Oh right. Dr. Lawrence Gordon and this guy, Adam, are locked in a room in like a grosso bathroom, chained by their ankles to a pipe with a guide, presumably dead on the floor between them, and there's poison in his blood and there's a gun.
Starting point is 00:11:23 You know what? A tape recorder and like I'm already saying this and I'm like I wish I wasn't. I immediately thought like oh this is one of those fucking like puzzle rooms that you have to figure way out of. Yeah. And it is but there's just so many thing guy's hand or what if Jigsock coughed? What if he had a little fart? What if you get? What if he doesn't go to the bathroom? Nobody goes to the bathroom the whole time. I don't know. How long can you stay still for? You don't have to do it now? Not even a minute, probably. No. I think I just try it. I just keep crossing and I'm crossing my legs. I. th. th. the th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. the th. the the th. tip. tip. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. tode. tode. tode. tode. tode. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. together. the the together. toge. toge. the toguu. togu. togu. the togu. the togu. t togu. togu. togu. today. today. togu. that says poop is so gross for something that's also so funny. Because he puts his hand in that toilet. Yeah, for the weird sight gag of him digging around and like it's got that a that
Starting point is 00:12:14 harketing back to train spotting. Yeah, oh that scene destroyed me. But it's like one of those things of like when a shitty band covers a good song and you're like, oh you shouldn't remind me that there's good songs. You should stick shitty dog. I also have the note, there's that little heart on the turlet. Yeah. And I was like, oh, is candy man men here? Because everybody wrote in shit. They wrote in shit. They wrote in the sweet sweet written and poopies. What a dildo. And then like I don't know there's
Starting point is 00:12:49 just so many things wrong with this like Carrie always is talking. He first of all the other guy has never heard of this crazy murderer that's like taking over the city never heard anything about even though they're showing us all these newspaper clippings which by the way are all about like kids playing with clay and there's something about like um I forget what the other it's something about the ACLU and there's something about like the newspapers they didn't even write the actual story things, oh really? That's hilarious and it's so dumb but anyway they... He's like, oh God I just can't. He's like talking about how this guy isn't a murder,
Starting point is 00:13:26 these people end up killing themselves, but like, no, fuck you. That's what murdering is. I mean, he's like, he finds himself locked in this room and he doesn't think about this until 20 minutes in. He's like, oh, I was a suspect in murders that happened just like this. That's weird, right? What if that has anything to do with it? You're a doctor, Carrie, always. How about the razor wire killing?
Starting point is 00:13:53 I hate that. Yeah. Yeah. I liked it as a kill, though. I think that's pretty cool. What was it? He was basically in a cage of razor wire and he had to get out. he thrown. they. th. th. to to to get out. It was a guy who like had tried to kill himself and if you really want to live you got to crawl through this razor wire to get out how much do you want to live? What? Obviously if you wanted to die I'll just
Starting point is 00:14:10 wait. Yeah it's really sad. Also like you know who deserves us bullying them the suicidal? That's like who we should definitely take our rage out on. Yeah it's this weird like this this this weird like being grateful for your life. It's some pro-life bullshit. I don't know. How about that jigsaw puppet? That has made so much money for Halloween stores across the country. And it's just this, um, you've never seen the Dario Rdento film Deep Red? Profonderosa? Did you say ponderosa? With the salad bar?
Starting point is 00:14:48 So, did you have this where you're from? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't know if they were nationwide. Or if they were regional. You've got to said that, like, I may have been from space. Do you have ponderosas where you're from? No, just sizzlers. So.
Starting point is 00:15:04 So. says where you're from? No, just sizzlers. In Deep Bread there is a puppet on a tricycle that comes out and like precipitate someone dying. Okay. And like the first time I saw this like, you're just ripping off Deep Red. Yeah, but obviously that puppet has far surpassed the puppet from Deep Red. Yeah, I mean, for a long time, that was the ubiquitous, if you went into a spirit Halloween store, those were everywhere. There's a really good video online of a little kid dressed up in that outfit riding a tricycle at a horror convention that's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Yeah, I'm like, your parents are fucked up. Yeah, yeah. Your life is basically over. You're never going to go to college, Jimmy. Or maybe you'll be sick. Maybe he'll be like, he'll be like 15, and be like, I'm going to be a fucking accountant. I'm done with that shit. Yeah, that is probably, it's like buck and rebel at some point, hopefully. So in the Turlet, he first goes into the shit end of the toilet without checking the top of it first.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Why would you not check the clean water part first, you dumb, dumb, dummy? Maybe that's why he deserves this because he's a dumb, dumb, demy. You're up to die because you're not willing to investigate the smart option first. Literally about as not lazy. Is this moving? I mean, it's just so lazy. Yeah, go on, sorry. Some justice crusader, menacing a child. He's basically Batman. There's a, he pulls out a trash bag that's got two saws in it.
Starting point is 00:16:37 And something else that he throws into a bathtub that isn't revealed until later for some dumb reason. I forget what it even is. It's a bunched hethat he had taken up to Caryelis. Right, right, right, right. Because he's been stalking Carrileus, he was paid by Danny Glover to stock Carriolus, because Danny Glover's convinced that Carriolus is the killer. See, that's the killer. All because of a pen light or something. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:05 I mean... Where he was set up by the Jigsaw. Jigsaw. Is, um... But I think the assumption is that Danny Glover has lost his mind when his... His partner died. Do you notice that they're named Tap and Sing? I didn't.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Yeah, Danny Glover is Tap and His Partner is Sing. to like a Tap Dancing Singing Duo. Oh my God. Why would you do that? That's just stupid. I was like, what? Why would you name them tap and sing? That's ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:17:36 It is ridiculous. It didn't even occur to you. No, I mean someone has to do it. I'm that dense that it's just going on. Oh, come on. I don't know. Yeah, so he lost it, he kind of like lost it when his partner passed away. Was killed by... He passed from this. He's just passed from this plane.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Rest in power. I hate rest in power. Me too, I think it's just a thing in Dildo say. Sorry if you say it. Just be nice. Just be nice and say rest and peace. Just be nice. This is a very mean movie. This is a very mean movie. Is it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:14 All right. Do you disagree? I think I don't think it's mean because I don't have any connection to anybody in the film. I feel really sorry for the drug addict girl. Yeah. Because that's like a really, I mean like... She's a reoccurring character in all the films, right? She, spoiler alert, ends up being like his protégé. Oh. She's also in the blob. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, the original. Or no, the one that we did with on Mike Bukowski. Does she have a cool name? Is she like, thi? the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. to to th. S, to to to to to to to the the to to to to to to to to to to the the the the th. She's the th. She's, th. She's, the th. She's, th. She's, th. She's, th. She's, the the the the th. She's, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi. I, thi. I thi. I the. I the. I theeeeeeeeeee. I theeeeee. I the. I the. Sree. S. S. I mean it's Amanda. Pretty sure it's Amanda. Also like why have I seen the other, why don't I? Maybe I deserve to die because I've seen these other movies.
Starting point is 00:18:52 I want to wake up tomorrow chain to like, I don't even care. Have you seen all 43 of them? I've seen, I think, the first four. Wow. I know, but I don't remember remember remember remember remember remember remember remember remember remember, I don't remember, I don't remember, I don't remember, I they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they are all blending together. I know one has the girl from Seventh Heaven, and I remember being like, this is strange. That like religious TV shows on for a while. Where that guy turned out to be a pedophile, the dad. I don't forget it. Whoops.
Starting point is 00:19:14 So they're tripped in this room, and they're just far enough that they can't hand anything to thin............ the. the. the. the. the the. they're. they're. the the. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they. they're. they're. they're. they. they're. they're. their. their. their. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. toe. toe. to be. to be. they. they. they. they............................................................................................................................ the.. the. the. the. the. if any of those had gone wrong the whole thing would have been fucked. Right. I'm not gonna throw the tape recorder and then at some point you just smashes a mirror with the tape recorder. How does the fucking jigsaw not flinch with all the stuff breaking around him? Also like one of the clues is that a picture is that a picture You know what I mean? Like, yeah, I'm not very attention or like detail oriented so I would fail at this. I don't know and just start chewing at the chain. Remember when people carried photos in their wallets? Is there ever backstory for Jigsaw? Like that he went through ninja training and he's super human. I recall I think he actually dies and then Amanda takes over.
Starting point is 00:20:05 You know, but now I might be misremembering. And she's now Sodoku. Yeah. Soto. Why is he jigsaw? They call him the, the police call him the jigsaw pieces. He takes little jigsaw pieces out of people. Why?
Starting point is 00:20:20 Because he takes a little jigsaw pieces, cuts them out of their flesh. There's one point where Adam is yelling at Dr. Lawrence Gordon. I like calling him by all his names. Dr. Lawrence Gordon MD. There's one point where Adam is yelling at Dr. Lawrence Gordon M.D. The most fun that I've had without lubricant. Who doesn't say lube? Who goes for the full... Rubricant? Canadians, I think probably Canadians.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I think he's actually Australian, so he's like one upsies. Yeah, really. Maybe he's not. Let's look at this dude. Hey, Internet, where's this guy from? He's Australian and his shit, dog. I haven't he he he he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to th. th. th. tooom. tooom. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's th. He's th. He's to. He's to. He's too. too. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. He's. He's th. He's. and a shit dog. I haven't known yours as talks like Donald Trump and I don't remember what it was referring to. At some point we're going to make the best puzzle room for you to get out. It's going to be an amazing puzzle room. You're not going to understand what's going on in this puzzle. It's going to blow your fucking minds.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Your accents are so funny that he was like a Brooklyn gangster. I'm Donald fucking Trump over here. We're gonna get some pizza, we're gonna get some meatballs, we're gonna go out to Staten Island. See what I do is I channel the person's essence. No, yeah, it's really good. I think it's great. Yeah, I like my Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah, you want to do that again? No, I don't. Nor my Nick Cage. Oh, man. Oh, boy. Howe. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. the the th. th. the th. the th. the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Apparently all like the black and white photography like shots of like still shots of things were just in here because they didn't have enough film to make a full length movie. What? So they had to like, or they didn't, they had like gaps in the movie that they had to fill in with stuff. And they didn't have time to go back and reshoot things. So they were like, we'll take existing footage and make it black and weight and grainy.
Starting point is 00:22:06 That's absurd. There's so many absurd things in this. Like, it seems to be well thought out, but then it just isn't. Like, at one point, they turn off the lights to off, like that's not, you can still, the sound is the same, whether the lights are on or off. You're not a three-year-old. Or like an infant, you know, when you cover your eyes and they, object permanence, I don't know, it's just, I couldn't.
Starting point is 00:22:36 How long do you think this movie is? Oh, three days? thii. . Right. It's like six hours long. Yeah. How long is it? It's a hundred and three minutes. That's long. Yeah. It's way too long. They could have cut it down, right? Yeah. that's a today. thee thau. that's a pretty low budge. Um, six million. One point thii. too. the movie. the movie. thi. thi. to they. thr. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to. the. the. to. the. the. the. the. th. always commanded, and Danny Glover commanded larger salaries, yeah. What do you think of Brian from the box office? Oh, 100 million.
Starting point is 00:23:08 103. Wow. You can see why there's been six of these. Yeah, I mean, and I guess it was kind of revolutionary, right? Sure. But much like, oh, Mao's China, revolutions aren't always the best thing. It's th th th th th th th th th th th thu. It's thu. It's thu. It's thu. It's thu. It's thu. That's true. Ah shit, I just got mad political, yo. Dog? Dog.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Swol. Get to the choppah. I don't know. Like, I'm looking at my notes and it's just, oh man. So, okay, so let's try to explain. All right. So, Adam has been taking pictures of Dr. Lawrence Gordon M.D. Because Danny Glover has hired him to do so
Starting point is 00:23:51 because he thinks he's this killer or he thinks he's being set up by the killer. Right. Or which is it? Does it matter? He thinks he's the killer. But he isn't the killer. He's not actually cheating on his wife. He's just thinking about it. We see a scene in the hospital where there's a resident who's obviously DTF with Carrie
Starting point is 00:24:13 Oas. As you know, post-Princeceau, I think a lot of us were. Oh yeah, I still am. Cario is if you're listening. I just winked. But I can't really wink, so I just actually just blanked. We'll face squeeze. And it's beautifully subtle the way they interact with each other. You can't really notice that.
Starting point is 00:24:34 It's fucking ridiculous. No, I mean, I think, yeah. He like walks by and he goes, huh? And he goes, hey? So they meet up later in a hotel at a flashback. And I can't, like had they done this before or was this supposed to be their first encounter? I don't think so because it was like, he was telling her about like you called wrong, you know what I mean? So it seemed like she didn't, like they didn't, like rules weren't established.
Starting point is 00:24:56 And she's also calling him Dr. Lawrence Gordon or whatever, like Larry. Oh you think if they had a... I think once you fuck someone you stop calling them by their uh by their honorifics you know. Dr. Lawrence Lover. Mr. Lover Shaba. Shaba. I just like to yell Shaba out ten different times. Does he yell his own name? Shaggy. Yes he yell his own name? Shaggy. Yes, he does. It wasn't me? Um, there was an internet rumor a couple years ago that Shaggy'd been stabbed to death in a
Starting point is 00:25:34 bar fight and I was heartbroken until I found out it wasn't true. I love that he doesn't have the accent. He doesn't? No, he's not. Yeah, he has an American accent. Oh, Shaggy. Oh, my god, the illusion is just destroyed for me. It's really fun. I like that in the song it wasn't me. All the words you know are not shaggy. There's some other guy. It doesn't matter. Does anything matter? Does anything matter? Does anything matter? I'm pretty sure if she caught you banging on the bathroom the the the the Yeah, yeah. Or does she have object permanence and once you walked out of the room, she's like, oh who was that? It wasn't me? Yeah. And that's her shagggy guest. He just told her it wasn't him. He said it wasn't me. And she was like, oh, he'd be like, who the fuck was in my home? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Can we talk about Dr. Laura's Lawrence Gordon MD's? He's a doctor.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Oh, is he? I hadn't noticed. Lee makes a good living. Seems to be rich. His wife sleeps on a velvet pillow case. Why was their house so shitty? Well did you think it was shitty? I think it was 2004 nice. I think it was 2004 nice. I think it was like a particular time of nice. It was just like a. It's a. like a particular time of nice. It was just like a particular trapes. Yeah I think that was supposed to be nice. I don't know. I don't know. It doesn't it doesn't th th th th th doesn't th doesn't th doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't th doesn't that doesn't th doesn't th doesn't th doesn't th doesn't th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. It doesn't th th th. It doesn't th. It doesn't th. It doesn't th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. It was like it was like it was like it was like it was like it was like it was like it was like it was like it was like it was like thi thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I'll read you your favorite story. No one even wrote that line down. You know what I mean? Kerry always was like, I don't know, what do you say to a child? Uh, I mean, are there legal rights for three little bears?
Starting point is 00:27:13 We don't really have time to look that up. Is three little bears even a story? I'm not, I got three little, three little. Yeah, that sounds right. Goldilocks, I'm out here. I was like, three little pigs, I'm not sure. I'm not, I don't know what I understand. Tomorrow I'll read you your favorite story. Will ya?
Starting point is 00:27:32 If I talk too fast, I lose my American accent. When he gets upset, too. Do you ever watch Sons of Anarchy? No. Oh, Charlie Hunham, the star Like that's the deterrent. Charlie Hunham, the star of that show, is British. Okay. And if he gets excited, he loses an American accent.
Starting point is 00:27:52 It's fantastic. That's funny. I love it. So Danny Glover's hired this guy to spy on him. He's been taking photos of him. But that's it for Adam, right? That's pretty much it. He's like kind of a loser, I guess.
Starting point is 00:28:07 Yeah. But he's like super handsome and real fit, so whatever. I'm sure you're fine. We're hugely baggy pants. Yeah, it's a very large shirt, too. So is Carrie? Yeah, well, I think he was bought a lot punchy in this movie. Well I think he's crawling around on the floor at the end I was like Carrie. I think the baggy pants are actually for when the big thing happens to him to cover up that he did didn't actually happen. When he saws off his foot
Starting point is 00:28:34 spoiler spoiler. I didn't realize his pants are big I didn't know where he was so it like he has giant slacks that are covering where his stump should be I see well I see well. But as if not he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he has he has he has he has like he has like he has like he has like he has like he has like he has like. He's like he has like. He's like. He's like. He's. He's like. He's like. He's like. He's like. He's like. He's has has has has has has has has has has like. He's is is is. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He has to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. He has th. He has th. He has Well, but if not he needs to get his he needs to get his pants hemmed. That thing is hanging way too low. Super rich. You should be able to do that. Yeah, it's got those brick walls with drapes on. Yeah, and the blue shirt with the white collar, which is such a bad look. You know what I mean? Who's like if you own those, don't wear them? Yeah, ifigsaw via these mini cassettes. I love mini cassettes, by the way, they're adorable. Why are they so cute? There's a tiny cassette.
Starting point is 00:29:11 They're for your answering machine. Yeah. Or if you're like a reporter. He tells Dr. Lawrence Gordon M.D. that he has to kill Adam by 5 o'clock or whatever. Why? Why? Why? Why? I don't know. By 6 o'clock. Oh, I'm sorry, by 6. Please give him that extra hour. So they wake up at noon? Do we mention they're both chained to pipes too?
Starting point is 00:29:35 I think probably. I mean, whatever. And they get a box, or no, he checks his pockets and he's got a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a bullet, a key... And the tape. Yeah, yeah. This movie's real dumb guys. Yeah, like I'm trying to think about... Wait a second. Can you clear something up for me? Probably not, but shoot. So the guy, Jigsaah, the guy that we are supposed to believe is Jigsaugh is actually an orderly from the hospital. Who's in Lost? I knew him from Lost. Oh yeah. Zepp Hindle is his name.
Starting point is 00:30:06 The character? Yeah. Okay. Michael Emerson is the actress. That's a better name. Yeah. It's a fine name. Zepp Handel?
Starting point is 00:30:15 Hindle? Whatever. So he, we're supposed to think that he's jigsaw. But here's my question. He's watching the the the closed circuit television, right? In the doctor's house. When the fuck did he set that up? After he tied up the mom and daughter.
Starting point is 00:30:33 But he was watched, wasn't it being filmed before that? I just don't, it doesn't make any sense. I mean, I think, is that confusing because of the flashbacks and flash forward. It might be. But also, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, the, the, they, they, they, they, the, they, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, is that confusing because of the flashbacks and flash- It might be. It might be. But also, like, why are they, why is he being, okay, but he ends up not being jigsaw at all but being set up by jigsaw, who has injected him with a poison or something, even though he was nice to him? Even though he was nice to him?
Starting point is 00:30:56 Yeah. Why? And then he has been told by Jigsaw that he has to kill the wife and daughter to get the antidote to the poison. Why? What the fuck did they do to anybody? Well he has to kill them if he if Dr. Lawrence Gordon doesn't kill Adam. Why? So if he doesn't hit that six o'clock timeline, that deadline I mean? Yeah. He has to kill the kid and wife. Why? What are what are what are the the the the the the th are tha tha tha tha? What are tha? tha? tha? tha? thiii? thi? thia? thi? thi? thia? tha? tha? tha? tha? thi? thia? thia? thi? thoomomomomomorrow. thoomomorrow. thoomom? Why? Why? W W W W W W W. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Whythe kid and wife. Why? What are the things that do with one another? It's the stakes that are making Dr. Lawrence Gordon have to kill Adam. I mean there's no other stakes for him. I see.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Oh right, that makes sense then. Yeah, that's that is, he does cry into the cell phone. Yeah. That only makes incoming calls. Yep. Zip-Hindle. So, but why should Adam have to die? What has he done wrong? I guess I'm just really hung up on the social crusader of all of this when it really doesn't matter? I mean, it doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Like he just, he didn't do shit to shit you know what I mean he didn't do anything to anybody. It's a really stakesless film yeah on some level. But I when I saw it the first time I remember thinking that the stakes were high but I don't feel that way now. Yeah I mean I was like 20 one. Yeah you were buying a Caryl list. You were like, oh, what's up, Carrella? I want you to cut your foot off here. You put some handsome. Ugh. Oh, uh, uh, sorry, that's gross. Um, also, Jigsaw wears like a Darth Mall costume in the sense.
Starting point is 00:32:34 And he wears a pig's head andthe street wearing a polyester cloak? Shiny red and black Halloween costume? By the way, nice Star Wars reference. I got that. You know why I knew it is from Insidious because a guy looks like Darth Mal and then I had to look up who Darth Mall was. I've never actually seen a movie with Darth Mall in it. Don't, it's terrible. It doesn't matter. Yeah, it's real racist. It's weird. Yeah. I mean I don't know. You're looking at me expectantly. Yeah I don't have a lot to say about this movie. Like I like the Bear Trap, the reverse bear trap. Yeah, it's cool. I like the razor wire thing. You like thrown because the their their their. You like because because they they they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like their. You like their. You're like they're like their. You're like they're like their. You're like their th. You're like th. You're like th. You're like th. You're th. You're th. I think it's called Vault of Horror where the guy has to run down a hallway that's cut like narrowing with razor blades along the side of it.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Yeah, he's being chased by like a starving German shepherd. So, it's either he's gonna be eaten by the dog or run through the. See that is not something I want to me. We don't see anything. It's from like it's very like... I know but still I just that's that's way too stressful for me. I'm serious. Like they're stakes. Right, yeah, yeah. But like the two dudes in the room like I have the no who fucking cares about this guy's family like I have no relationship to this family whatsoever. And he like I wonder how much he cares right. and he like I wonder like how he he he he the the he the he he the he the he he the he he he he the he he he he he the he the the he he their their their their like I their like I their like I their like I their like I their like I their like I'm like I'm like I'm like I their their their their their their their their their their their their their they's like their they's like they's like they's like they's like they's like they's like their they's like their their they's like their their their their their their their their their is like their is like their is like their their their. their their their their. their their. their s. their s. their s. I's their. I's their. I's their is. I's their is. real affection because he's just like acting this like he does not care. Yeah, it's terrible. And I only wanted Adam to live because he's like sort of cute. You know what I mean? That's the only reason. Yeah. So what I mean, what happens in these other movies?
Starting point is 00:34:18 The same thing over and over? I'm gonna look like I wonder if they're expounding on the storyline? They are, they do, but not like the Car Car Car Car Car Car Car the Car the Car Car the Car the Car Car the Car the Car Car the Car Car Car Car Car the Car Car Car the Car Car Car Car Car Car Car Car? the Car Car? the Car? What? What? What? What? What? What happens? What happens? What happens? What happens? What happens happens? What happens in the Car? They are they do but not like the Carreau always storyline just the jigsaw story line Right, but Carrie Elwice apparently shows up in the last saw a movie he does? He does he live? I guess so weird I Yeah, he like shuffles out of the door. Yeah, but I assume he's gonna bleed to death down there there. He was looking terrible. Apparently? He was looking terr- He tera ter ter he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's th. He was looking th. He was looking th. He was looking th. Apparently a friend of the podcast Dennis Carey when he saw this movie in the theater and the last line in his game over, he stood up and laughed. I'm so glad he did that. Maybe he didn't stand up, but he did laugh heartily because it's so dumb. Yeah. Okay, I forgot about this, but I'm being reminded by Wikipedia. Saw to the cop is actually Donnie Wahlberg, the better Walburg. Oh nice, that's nice. Yeah. But see that's just taking the place of
Starting point is 00:35:07 Danny Glover, so it's kind of like a, you know. Yeah, it's a step down. Okay, Um, he jigsaw gets caught by the police, but traps the arresting officer in one of his own games while showing another game of eight including the officer's son in progress on TV monitors at another location. It also provides some of the backstory for his reasons to becoming jigsaw. After the financial success of saw, a sequel was immediately greenlit. The... Oh, somebody else wrote it too, by the ide. The idea of being jigsaw seems exhausting. Why would you ever want to plan all this? I can't even like plan like, do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:35:45 When faced with the prospect of planning something complex, I'm like, ugh. Well, it's like, I don't know how much comic book, but you're not a big comic book fan, but like comic book super villains are always like, he's a brilliant. And you're like, yeah, why don't you use your butt hole, Adam splitting butthole for good and just like make a billion dollars, but no I can't. Like Jake Saw, you should be a fucking wedding planner, dog. You would make this shit. I know, he's coordinating so well.
Starting point is 00:36:15 He's so well. If anyone wants to do fan art of Jake's a wedding planner. That would be great. Oh, oh God, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I th. Yeah, I think the next several movies are just groups of people being stuck in places. And it's like, what would you do to get out? What would you do to get out? It's like the... Man, they put out one a year for a long time. Yeah, that was a fucking cash cow. Seven total. I wonder what the franchise as a whole has made. I could add it up but I'm not going to. I mean if this movie made, you know, even if it's diminishing returns, which I'm sure it was, this made a hundred and three million on a one point two investment. Okay, let me just read you the plot summary for
Starting point is 00:36:58 Saw 3 and you can see why I'm angry, okay. The story follows Jeff Denlin, a man who after his son is killed and a hit and run, is put through a series of tests by Jigsaw in order to try to get him to let go of his vengeance for the man who killed his son. Meanwhile a bedridden John Kramer who is jigsaw has his apprentice, has his apprentice Amanda kidnapped Jeff's wife, he was tasked thi to keep him alive for one final test before he dies. Had these people not suffered enough? When if this becomes a really weird school of therapy? Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:37:32 That's what it seems like, that's, it's just, I guess I had a misconception about it going in and now I feel very strangely about it, where I thought it was like bad people being punished. But I guess maybe that was seven. That was seven. It's just teaching life lessons. So your therapist is, are they youngian or are they taking more of like a Freudian approach to this? It's cognitive behavioral therapy. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Because I'm going to, you might want to check my guy out. Oh, jigsalian. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. a jigsawian. Oh, jigsawing. Yeah, um. Currently I have a bomb rammed up my ass. And if I don't murder you, he's going to kill me. Well, then I won't need to see him because I'm dead. But you have to, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It is so dumb. It is so dumb. I just am more disappointed in it than I than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than than I expected to be. You want to move on to the writing space. I guess. Ratings phase. So good. Thank you. Do you want to go first? Not really. So I saw this movie in theater. Yes. How did you feel when you saw it? I hated it. I was really mad that I saw that movie because it was terrible and it just falls apart. Like any, as we just did, any reflection upon this film just like
Starting point is 00:38:50 breaks it. Yeah. It just snaps it. And like, and I love a lot of garbage movies that can be broken very easily. You don't say. As we discussed, Predator last week. But it's still enjoyable to me. Yada, yada, yada, yada, bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb. And I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, th. B, th. B, th. B, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm, I th. And I'm, I th. And I'm th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm the th. tha, tha, tha, tha, tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha, tha, the the the the the the the. Yada, yada, yada, yada, bada, boom. This is like, there's nothing, like, I'm not finding anything in this that I can like latch onto and think is fun or think, like, it's not harkening back to anything that I like about, like Italian, like, cop's thriller, horror movies. It's not. Yeah, but even like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th... th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, Yeah, but even like it's not funny. Like in those movies it's funny, like the cops were like,
Starting point is 00:39:26 I wouldn't take your passport, do you solve this? Yeah. And you're like, what? Or like when they find the guy with the drill bits going into his neck or whatever, and they're just like, we'll put the sheet back over him. What? That's not how a. They're right next to his fucking hand he's just shooting them. Which is great because later in the film he cannot shoot a man lying on the floor. Like what?
Starting point is 00:39:51 Yeah, it's just, there's nothing about this that appeals to me. It spawned a franchise and a sub-johnner of horror that does not a veal to me. Two. Wow. I want nothing to do with these movies. That's fine. Um, I think I can be slightly more generous than that. Only because they were trying to do something. And I can see that they were trying to do something.
Starting point is 00:40:13 And I always feel like they made a fuckload of money. So like, I don't know, on my table of movies would I reach for it? Not this one, no. But I might like watch Saw Six on a sick day just to ruin myself. I wonder if we should have done later in the franchise. Yeah, maybe we'll do it later. Oh, okay. I mean, we're gonna run out of movies at some point. Yeah, let us know if you want us to do that. So what's your, what you're n your number on it. Of which one we should do? No, oh, my numerical rating. Oh, uh. You didn't get that from me saying number? Wow, he just made the jewa noise for a really long time.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Three and a half. Three and a half stars. Are we doing stars? Are we doing stars? Are they just three and a halfs? The gore stuff. And you know what, it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not it's not their their their thi thi thi their thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to to to to to thi. to to thi. to thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. a half. The gore stuff. And you know what? It's not even particularly gory. I remembered it being gory and it's not. I mean, cutting off your own foot is gross. Yeah, but it's not, he doesn't see it. It's not even that tense.
Starting point is 00:41:14 No? No. Because of the guy's just going, oh God. Oh God. Oh God. Though there is something really awful about the idea of being locked in a room with a corpse where no one will ever find you and you're going to starve to death at the end. And a shitty toilet. And a shitty toilet. And you're changed so you can't even poop on the toilet, you're going to have to poop your pants. So like, I guess, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:47 It's a concept that you could really do a lot with if you weren't a dildo, you know? Yeah, I think these are just, and on some level I go back to it again. I don't like it, but it's for somebody. Sure, and a lot of somebodies, because they liked it a lot. Yeah, and they went back. I think it's like those paranormal activity movies. The first one is pretty D's though. Yeah, we should do one of those. Yeah, let's do paranormal activity soon. Or, you know, there's a lot of film genres that are just not for me and that's fine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:13 That fucking hardcore Henry movie that I want to punch in the face. Like all these things are out there that are just not for all. I've started to feel like there's less and less for me. Oh no, buddy. Yeah. Is this podcast ruining things for you? No. I just don't like many things. Oh.
Starting point is 00:42:30 But you found some things via this podcast that you would have never known that you liked? True. Theon maniacs. That's the one. That's bummer. We know it's not a bummer, Katie. Oh, man, we got to do better. We owe it to Jason to do better. My segues are fantastic.

Our friend and former podcast guest on the alien episode, Jason McKitrich runs Cryptocurium and he does this thing called Parcel of Terror which is a monthly subscription box you pay $35 and Jason sends you this awesome box fill with amazing stuff of like

Yeah, so we're gonna try and appeal to the entire family. Also if it fails entirely, we'll be doing paranormal activity. My favorite thing about this is that this is just restrictions that we put in ourselves for no fucking reason. The more we're talking about it, the more I'm like, why are we doing this? Kids are great. I have the greatest baby niece.
Starting point is 00:46:46 I'm excited to watch Corlain. I read, I actually read it last year. Oh, did you? I just picked it up at like the half-priced bookstore. I've never read it. Oh, nice.
