Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode of when reality hits is brought to you by booking.com book whoever you want to be on booking.com booking.yeah. All right well welcome back to when reality hits with Jacks and Brittany. Brittany is currently in New York right now filming Watch What Happens Live. So I got my good buddy, fellow cast member Daniel Bucu here and just a little bit about... How do you say my last name? Is it Bucu? Bucu. Bucu. Bucu. Come on bro. I don't know. Let's go. It's spelled B-O-O-K-O. You're right. Say book. Book-O. There it is. Okay, sorry. Who was born in a small town in Michigan where, well first of all, we're both from You're right. Say book. Book O. There it is. Okay, sorry. Who was born in a small town in Michigan where, first of all, we're both from Michigan. Let's go. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:00:51 All right. He attended college in Chicago with a music and football scholarship. During his sophomore year, he dropped out and moved to LA, like many of us. Few months in, Danny booked his first job as a guest spot on Disney's The Sweet Life of Zack and Cody, and has been blessed to be working ever since. He's done over 20 guest spots and reoccurring roles on TV shows, and has been roles in over 30 movies. He's also done over 1,000 voiceover jobs, including video games, animation, live action,
Starting point is 00:01:20 working on some of the biggest movies in the industry. Daniel is now married to his amazing wife, Nia. Yes, I can vouch for that. She is extremely beautiful. And they've been married for eight years and have three beautiful children, all under the age of three. That is kind of the drinking game.
Starting point is 00:01:34 If you hear Daniel say that, anytime this season, you are to drink alcohol. Exactly. He's got one boy and two identical twin girls, which we're gonna get into that. He continues to work in the industry and he also co-hosts a podcast with his beautiful wife called Hold My Crown.
Starting point is 00:01:48 You can now see him also on Bravo's hit new show with myself, The Valley. Let's go! There we go. Let's go! Well, welcome, welcome, welcome. We got a lot to get into today. Thank you for having me, thank you for having me.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Let me get into my notes here. Okay, okay, where are we? All right, well first of all, Daniel, welcome to the show. Thank you for having me. It's a little weird here not having Brittany, so I'm on my own. She's probably like, don't screw this up. I'm here, bro, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:02:14 First of all, how did you afford me? That's my first question. I gotta do some things extra on the side that I can't tell you about. My guy. Well, we're both from Michigan. Yes, we are. from Michigan. Yes, common Where are you getting where you part of where what are you part of? Where are you from? Exactly?
Starting point is 00:02:29 I'm bro throw up the mitten. I know right here those of you know I can't see right now us Michigan people throw up our hands to show you where we're from is the mitten state I'm a little bit more near the thumb portion Detroit suburb area and you are near I'm the other side by Chicago Southwest. Yes, Southwest, Michigan Okie dokie small town called three rivers and how was your Easter? Easter Most of all, wait a minute timeout. I'm gonna back up a minute. You were supposed to spend Easter with me at Moon shadows or I decided to cancel an hour before actually not even that we were Brittany and I are on our way and I'm like
Starting point is 00:03:04 Okay, so, you know just let you know I were on our way, and I'm like, okay, so, you know, just let you know I got the reservations for eight, and she's like, well, I didn't tell you this, but Daniel and Nia decided to say they were sick. Well, this is not the full truth here. First of all, I didn't even know what was going on. Did you ever actually invite me to Malibu? No, it was Brittany and Nia.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Well, yeah, but I'm the husband. I just say, hey, invite them, make it happen. And I'm the husband who half the time doesn't even get the information. Yeah, okay, you know I wake up and it's like, you know what's happening today. Oh, I forgot this this this this and this well that would that would have been nice to know We have been a sick house for the last like three weeks So you were really sick you didn't just care really sick because you missed a really beautiful brunch Not only do we have a great brunch, but Jeremy, Ariana's brother, proposed to his beautiful
Starting point is 00:03:52 now fiance, Rachel. And I got to be part of that. It was wonderful. But yeah, we missed having you. I know. We wish you were there. It was a beautiful day. Listen, I wish it was a beautiful day.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Like somehow we made it to Easter. Like we woke up and we were like, are we even going to make it to Easter Sunday church? Right. Right. Cause that's, you know, staples like the Superbowl, you know, for you gotta go to church on Easter. So, uh, those are the only days I don't like going to church on holidays because it's a zoo. Right. Right. It's true. Um, so it was like waking up right now. One of our daughters likes to wake up at like 4 35 in the morning and it just drives us crazy and we're all sick and we're trying to get as much sleep. So I'm like, I get her, I put her on the boob, not my boob,
Starting point is 00:04:35 Nia's boob and we try to get like another hour until Zariah wakes up. So we're like literally zombies throughout the morning. And then we were like, okay, are we pulling this together? Are we going are we gonna go to church and she's like we got to let's do it And I said look I got a massive job on Monday. Yeah You can't talk about feeling right now, right? I can't talk about it right now But it's is this the biggest job you can say that you've ever done. No, no, no, no, it's not No, I've worked on one of the job. You told me and in my eyes that seems like the biggest jobs that I would ever do
Starting point is 00:05:09 It's massive, but I've also worked on the Avenger movies a lot of Marvel movies Deadpool 1 Deadpool 2 Avengers infinity war Okay, Iron Man 3. Okay work on all those doing voiceover stuff for that. Wait, hold on a second So wait, you're talking about the Avengers, the Marvel universe? Oh yeah. I'm talking billions and billions of dollars. And that's probably one of the biggest things on TV, or I'm sorry, in the movies right now is Marvel. Right. So you are involved in that.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Yes. Tell us about that. I do a lot of voiceover. You know, it really runs the gauntlet. You know, I get hired to come in. So for example, Iron Man is flying in the sky. You hear a military guy give him the coordinates to where he needs to go attack.
Starting point is 00:05:54 That's my voice. Right? So it's those stuff like that that aren't being recorded or shot when they're filming, but it's stuff that needs to be put in after, in post-production. And do you have to audition for this kind of thing, or are you just so well-known in the industry
Starting point is 00:06:12 that they just give you a call? Sometimes I have to audition for certain things, but the majority of the time I've been doing it for so long, I just kind of get the call. Right, and so do you have a resume, when people say, hey, what have you done in the past, do you have, I don't want to say a VHS, but do you have like a resume, like when people say, Hey, what have you done in the past? Do you have like a, like, like, I don't want to say like a VHS, but do you have like a, what do you send them?
Starting point is 00:06:29 It's IMDB. I show you internet movie database. Right. And you look me up and you know, it's, it's not all there because it's like voiceover stuff. Um, I purposely took a lot of stuff off because I wanted to show people that I do a lot of on camera too. Because again, I've done 20 TV shows, 30 films, but thousands of voiceover jobs. And those are the ones that are the biggest in the industry. When you talk about Avengers and you talk about, I worked on Captain America and Deadpool 1, Deadpool 2.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Can you give me my favorite? I've made you do this before. Can you give me a little Walking Dead? Oh boy. Dude, I 2, and you know. Can you give me my favorite? I've made you do this before. Can you give me a little Walking Dead? No, boy. Dude, I had no voice this morning. Give me a tad bit. For those of you who don't know, Daniel does the zombies for The Walking Dead. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I Love it
Starting point is 00:07:28 Guy who does the zombies from the walking dead? I mean he's done so many other things but to me I just think that's cool because I'm a huge walking dead fan It's a lot of dumb is that what's your favorite? Let me ask you this your last question What's your favorite voiceover that you've done that you just really enjoy doing or you have an attachment to like a character that you really? Like that you just kind of you feel like he's part of you or man man I wouldn't say voiceover I would say probably like my favorite acting like as an artist is in one year I got to do a lead role in a movie called Jersey Shore Shock Attack on the sci-fi channel. And that same year I got to do a Western with Val Kilmer and I was the lead outlaw in that. And it was called Wyatt Earp's Revenge. So in, in with Val Kilmer, who's on my favorite movie, Tombstone. I mean, are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:08:20 When I found that out, I was like, let's go. So in one year I went from playing my character's name was Polly B and, uh, we don't blow out the hair and then to riding horses. But that's the industry. Exactly. One day you're doing this. Next thing you know, Hey, I was on shark NATO. Okay. I get it. Stossel and I were on sharknado next thing you know Never know what you're gonna get in this time exactly you never know but for this these were leads Yeah, oh, yeah, there's a little different. Yeah, these were leads and you know like caring you know that these movies But to go from playing that to playing that in the same you know your span you know
Starting point is 00:09:01 Filming you know for months on both Was really really cool. No, that's it felt like a really you know big filming, you know, for months on both, was really, really cool. Yeah, that's really cool. It felt like a really, you know, big achievement to be able to go from one, you know, spectrum to the next. Yeah, that's amazing, man. That's awesome. Awesome. Really, really cool. Yeah, no, I had to just, I had it a little under five on Charter. That was my claim to fame and, yeah, it was a lot of fun. But hey, man, like, again, that's just so, so cool. And thank you for sharing a lot with that with us. Yeah. Yeah for sure But this was very very I mean, I know I know what this is the viewers don't but I'm pretty excited
Starting point is 00:09:33 I can't wait to see this. So I had to make a sacrifice. I gotcha. It was like work first, right? I had so much, you know dialogue and preparation to get ready for and research and and I and We didn't even have help that day. And I can't even imagine being sick. I mean, what you do, most of your everything is voice. So being sick and doing what you do would be absolutely, it would be grueling. And not just for like this morning, I had no voice. This morning, I felt like I got hit by a bus with what I went through yesterday.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Well, thank you for making it to my podcast. Of course, of course. I'm a professional. I know how to get the you know the ginger lemon honey you know tea going get the vocal warm-ups going and uh and and we're here baby let's go i'm glad you're here you like working on this project you having fun with it i'm having a lot of fun with it yeah that's very cool yeah this is one where you they give you a lot of free rate you we're making up languages. Yeah. It's a lot of crazy fight efforts and... Can we say exactly what you're doing on this or no? I am saying what I'm doing on it.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Okay, voice. Yeah, it's all voiceover. This one actually is all animation. I've, like I said, Avengers. I work on a lot of video games. Yeah, for those of you that don't understand, that don't live in Hollywood, voiceover acting, obviously thought like a lot of cartoons or... Yes. which I love, The Walking Dead, Daniel gets to do
Starting point is 00:10:48 a lot of the zombies. Yes, I get to do a lot of The Walking Dead stuff and the spin-offs of that. But yeah, there's a lot of different areas and categories of the voiceover world. So I don't do a lot of animation. Everybody says, oh, are you on a cartoon? Are you on this and this and that? And I have done some animation, but the majority of stuff I do is live action
Starting point is 00:11:09 and some video games as well. Do you like that better than acting? Or do you like the other way? Which one do you like better? Because you also were on iCarly, you were the heartthrob, which I'm gonna get into that because I just, there's this new documentary about that Creepo. Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:22 We'll get into that in a second. But did you like working on that show? I loved working on that show. Were you the teen heartthrob? Were you like a like Tiger Beat magazine and all that? I was I was in a lot of magazines. That's right ladies You make sure you tune into the valley so you can see your old friend from iCarly. Yes, I think I was allergic to cotton on that Episode because my shirt was constantly off. They're like, yeah take your shirt off again in this scene and all this you know because they wanted. I was very dumb. I was a dumb intern. They kept me around because you
Starting point is 00:11:52 know they they thought I was hot. Now if you don't let me ask just because I'm new into this this documentary with this guy who did you were you ever around this person because I'm only asking this because it's a popular show. I know exactly what you're talking about. What's the guy's name. It's called quiet on set quiet on set Dan Schneider Dan Schneider. There's also I think I have not watched it, right? I know a lot of the actors. Yeah, I have come out and and have said horrific things. Yeah So I can't talk too much on it because I haven't actually you know seen it But it's sick. It's really sad.
Starting point is 00:12:27 I started watching some of it and I actually fell asleep. It was really I felt because I was really tired, but it looked really like, holy hell, how did this? Yeah. How did this happen? Yeah. I think Discovery is the one who who discovered it. Yeah. And so did you ever see him around set? Oh, yeah. Every day. Oh, really? Every day. Now, is he like I haven't finished watching the documentary. Is he still employed
Starting point is 00:12:45 I am not sure I haven't worked on a Disney Nickelodeon show and Well over I'm surprised like like you know how you would work with a company that somebody gets in trouble you get like a letter In the mail do you want to be part of this lawsuit whether you have you know worked with him directly or indirectly? I'm just curious that they just like did a lawyer send you something. I have not received interesting. I have not received have you seen the documentary. No, no, you haven't even watched it I haven't I haven't But you know, I think it's a good thing that things are being brought to light, you know, it's it's sick You know, it's the whole you know, the me too movement that came out. Yeah, and you know
Starting point is 00:13:19 Look man, these are In the dark are gonna come to the light at some point, so you better be ready to face the consequences. I just can't believe it didn't come out sooner, to be honest. It's Hollywood, man. It's Hollywood. It's hush hush and you know. When Reality Hits is sponsored by Quince. All right, well, let's get into, you know, the main reason why people love listening to this podcast
Starting point is 00:15:56 is The Valley. You know, this is your first season doing reality TV, yeah? Yes, it is. What are your thoughts so far? How are you liking it? Are you disliking it? Are you in the middle? Are you torn? You bamboozled me. Okay. First of all, again, we're going to go ahead and throw another apology of me pantsing Daniel. No, I'm not talking about the fancy. I'm talking free. I'm talking free. What do
Starting point is 00:16:22 you mean? You know, I just, you know, I went into this with how you explained it. It was, this is gonna be a great time. I may have been a car salesman. You were a car salesman. A little bit. You were, you were. You sold it very, very well.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I could sell Snowdon Eskimo. 100%. And Hook, Line, and Sinker, you got me on the hook. And I was like, this sounds was like this sounds like it sounds like a blast so I came in with very rose colored glasses of Hey, this is gonna be fun. We're gonna be hanging out. You know cameras around you know I'm not shy in front of a camera We're gonna be doing fun things fun parties. You know get out of the house get around You know do some what's it's reality you got to make it interesting. There's got to be conflict. There's got to be, you know, scenarios. It can't be all just, you know, rainbows and butterflies.
Starting point is 00:17:12 100%, 100%. I just don't watch a lot of reality TV. So, and I didn't know much of, you know, I understand now why you say, I don't watch my old stuff. I don't, I never watched myself on TV. And now you can maybe see why. And now I can see. Because it's embarrassing and sometimes. Now I can see why. I always forget that there's cameras there and I just like to act like how I like to act.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Right. And I have to apologize for it later. Yeah, yeah. So, you know, there was a lot of, it was back and forth, you know, where we're gonna do it, where we're not gonna do it. And then I was like, hey, you know, I've been in the business for 20 years. I done you know on camera off-camera behind the scenes doing
Starting point is 00:17:49 voiceover stuff you know all that type so I was like you know you sold it very well and and you know for Nia who doesn't act and and but host and things like that but does a lot of stuff on social media right you're like hey this could be you know a great thing for for as well. And, you know, getting her introduced. I mean, this is a career starter. It is. It can bring a lot of opportunity. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:18:13 You know, Bravo, NBC, it's a privilege to be part of that network. It's an honor to be asked. And, you know, when I created this show two years ago, you know, I was really excited to be back on TV again. And I remember meeting with Alex Baskin in a hotel and yada yada and I'm like, he's like, do you have people in mind? I'm like, yeah, I have exactly the people that I want, the people that are my friends.
Starting point is 00:18:36 And that's why Vanderpump Rules in the Valley works so well is because we are not casted people, we are already friends. So it's not like you have to be like, okay, Steve, we need you to hate Bobby and Bobby, can you make out with Susie? Like we don't do that. Yeah. And which some other shows do do that. Right. And I felt like I had such an organic group and that's why I feel like this show is going to be really, really well because it's just, we all kind of fit together. And I felt like, and I'm, I'm, I can't get
Starting point is 00:19:00 over how well you guys are just adjusted to it all because there's obviously between between other than me, Brittany and Kristen, none of you guys have really done reality before. Right. So you guys just fell right into it like that. A whole different animal. And you guys are just awesome. And I was shocked just how well you guys were like, didn't you know, the cameras weren't making anybody nervous. I didn't think so much you, but you know, there's other people like Jason and Janet who are not around cameras all the time. I don't know how this all works all works right they've all been on Vanderpump rules here and there a little bit Yeah, nothing like their exactly you know or they're on the title card, so yeah Yeah, I'm you know it's it's an exciting time
Starting point is 00:19:34 How's Nia adjusting to all of this like with the comments and are you diving into the comments at all a little bit? Don't go in those comment I know I know because those are people from like majority are from like middle America who are angry with their lives and they like to just outburst on social people warriors you know what I mean yeah they just sit back there are also the same people that will come up and ask you for a picture exactly oh that guy's an asshole right oh my god please I'm your biggest fan oh yeah same people so you can't take it no I know I know I knew that going in and we were like hey hey, let's look. We had just had, she just
Starting point is 00:20:09 gave birth to our identical twin girls, Isabelle and Zariah, five weeks prior. Yeah. Yeah. When we started filming. So we were in, we were in the thick of it. I think of it. I always say, and I've been told this, I've told this this a long guy It's when they stop talking about you in Hollywood That's when you should worry if they're talking about you more power to it. Yeah, power. Yeah talking away. Yeah, and they stop Yeah, that's when you have a problem. There you go. I got a question So, you know guys night do you remember when we had guys night the video at the video arcade? Did I did I handle that wrong? Because like I'm going back and forth with it and I'm trying to be like we're guys we get over things Did I handle that wrong?
Starting point is 00:20:47 Because I'm going back and forth with it and I'm trying to be like, we're guys, we get over things and it's like, whatever. And my situation was with Kristin bringing in Alex. I was like, listen, Alex has been my friend for almost 10 years. And Kristin has dated a lot of guys that I know. And I go, listen, if you want, and she wants me to include Luke in all of our functions,
Starting point is 00:21:07 I have no problem doing that. But, okay, you have to understand that Alex is my friend. So if you want Luke to be involved, I'm more than happy to have him involved, but you don't have to be buddy-buddy and do tummy tugs. You just gotta shake each other's hand and be like, what's up, how you doing? And that's it.
Starting point is 00:21:22 And I feel like we're all at the same age, or we're all at the age now where it's like, we're not 20-year-old girls where we're gonna cry and be like what's up how you doing and that's it yeah and I feel like we're all at the same age or all the age now where it's like we're not 20 year old girls where we're gonna cry like I don't like you and you don't like that we're not you know we can just get over it I thought I thought yeah exactly exactly I think you you live your life as a certain type of way where you do your friends with a lot of your exes my exes were in my wedding party. Exactly. Um, that is not normal. That is not normal. Can I, can you say that? That is not normal. But have you ever dated somebody and was like, you know what? We're just really better off as friends.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Here's the thing. Here's my thing with this and being married, right? Is why play with fire? If, if I've been with this person if I've been you bet Intimately with this person Obviously there was an attraction there at one point. Okay, whether you feel like no longer that's there whatever See, I don't with right my ex's but who says that that other person doesn't I okay. So You know when you get married you say your vows, I am going to honor you, I'm going to protect you. And I feel like that's one way for me and I, we protect our marriage in that way. Anybody that we've ever had either exes or had, you know, physical contact, sexual contact,
Starting point is 00:22:41 intimacy, blocked. Blocked. Oh, just blocked? Just severed. Oh, okay. We just sever all ties. Because look, nothing could come out of it. No.
Starting point is 00:22:52 But why mess with it? Why play with fire at all? I agree, I agree. And that's just where I say, well, your thing is it works for you. I just figured we were guys. I know, but I know you say, I understand where you're coming from.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Right? And I feel like you're coming from, right? Um, I feel like we're all in different situations like Alex has moved on. He's got a girlfriend now that lives with him He's very much in love Luke's very much in love with Kristen I just don't know why like I like, you know before things happen with me and Stacey Bo and I are best friends We hang out all the time like right, you know, like I said Stacey was in my wedding I had Rachel another girl that I dated who I said, Stacey was in my wedding. I had Rachel, another girl that I dated, who's now married, she was in my wedding. I guess I look at it a little differently,
Starting point is 00:23:32 and I feel like after a certain amount of time, after like, it's been over a decade, I feel like I don't even remember it anymore. I can see what you're saying, though, I understand it. I just have a hard time processing. I honestly thought they could just break bread and be like, high five, bro. No, don't worry about it, I know you dated her cool and just move on from it
Starting point is 00:23:47 It's not like we sit around and we talk about each other's relationship. We don't right you don't do that So I was coming from a bigger place stupid. No, it's not I was coming from a place where like I thought we've all grown I know but you got to think about the other side of it too because here's the deal all he's heard is What's Kristen has said about Alex? Yes. So is I well exactly not fair think about the other side of it too, because here's the deal. All he's heard is what Kristen has said about Alex. Yeah, he's heard of one side. Well, exactly.
Starting point is 00:24:08 And that's not fair. Listen, that's how it is in every relationship, right? All you're going to hear is the one side, because that's the person that you're falling in love with or in love with or committing your life to. And if that person has said, hey, this person did this to me and this person they're not gonna say he was the best ex-boyfriend I could ever had and and you know it I wish it would have worked but you know there's just a couple things that you know okay so with that I don't want to be around this guy so now I got he's hurt he's hurt my wife or he's hurt my girlfriend or he's hurt my fiance takes two of course I'm firm believer that it takes two.
Starting point is 00:24:46 And we can agree on that. We can agree on that. But you're hearing, obviously. And now I look at it like, okay. He's not sleeping with Alex, he's sleeping with Kristen. He's waking up with Kristen. So it's like, you know. Well, now here's the now what I have to go back
Starting point is 00:24:58 and I have to be like this. Well, Luke, now you can't get invited to a lot of guys and it's because I'm sorry, I do have allegiance to Alex because he's been my friend for so long. I'm not gonna just cut him out of guys, because I'm sorry, I do have allegiance to Alex because he's been my friend for so long. I'm not gonna just cut him out of my life because then first of all, Kristen's dated half of Hollywood. I'm gonna run out of friends soon.
Starting point is 00:25:13 This is no jab to Kristen. You know, Hollywood's very small. We've dated a lot of people. But how am I supposed to invite Luke and make him feel a part of the group if Alex is always around? And it's not like it's just me, Alex, and Luke. There a part of the group if Alex is always around in all my, and it's not like it's just me, Alex, and Luke.
Starting point is 00:25:26 There's 20 of us guys always around. So how do I, like, and then Kristen's gonna yell at me, how come you didn't invite Luke? Well, because Alex was there. That's why you addressed the situation before it happened. I did, about 10 minutes prior. Exactly. 10 minutes before he walked in. Exactly. You know that needs to happen
Starting point is 00:25:46 before and your relationship with Kristen you've known each other forever. It would have been a nice heads up even though you know she would have been like absolutely hell no. I do not do this. I mean I guess. But you can see that's respectful. I guess agree to disagree. I guess yeah I mean you were coming. I was coming from a good place. I think you just did it completely wrong I guess so I said with my situation with Stassi, you know I remember when I met Bo and everyone was like that weird like no, it's not weird I was like, yeah, I'm gonna go buy him a beer Then we started hanging out a lot and right the same thing with with Rachel. I met her ex-boyfriend
Starting point is 00:26:21 I was like, hey, let's go grab me. I guess I just look at it differently. That's all. Addie. Starting point is 00:28:52 And I'm so glad Brittany brought this up a couple of weeks ago because I saw it immediately when it happened. And I'm so surprised more people didn't bring this up. How does my butt crack taste? Because when you pants me, I have a still shot, I have a still shot of your nose missing. It's missing.
Starting point is 00:29:17 It is this. It is in there. It's called karma. It is. Did you see this thing though, how Brock was telling me to do it? I did. So I have that. After I had a couple sodas, you know what?
Starting point is 00:29:31 I was trying to liven up this party a little bit. It was a thousand degrees that day. People were irritated. It was. I'm like, how can I get this party going? Exactly. And again, one more time, I am very sorry about that. But now to get into- Oh my God, come on, dude. You know, it wasn't
Starting point is 00:29:45 I didn't care now I watched tonight's episode again people are not going to see this till Thursday but I watched tonight's episode it was a rough episode uh for many people um I I think I only had like one scene and I think I said the only thing I know about Capri is Capri Suns. That was one of my favorite lines, dude. That was one of my favorite lines. It was about your hair's all disheveled and you're coming out and you're like, all I know about Capri is Capri Suns. Well, not only that, I was pissed off because I don't have linen in my closet. Exactly. Like linen. Dude, it was... I'm like, do they even make... The last thing about linen, I'm thinking linen tablecloth.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Oh my God. can we can we figure this out? Can we just break this why Jesse's got to call it Capri every time? I know hey, you know, it's Capri. It's Capri. We are we live in America, right? Okay, as we don't say we're going to the you fail tower and no we went and visited the Eiffel Tower Okay, I know I have I have I agree with you but dinner was the probably one of the most Uncomfortable dinners that I've ever been a part of in my life 100% Do you how did I mean I kept my mouth shut? I think you and I were in the corner for most of it Yeah
Starting point is 00:31:01 I don't know if they caught a lot of that on the film But you and I were kind of just like sitting in the corner like, I'm just gonna sit here and eat. Like I didn't know what to do with my, never tallied against Ricky Bobby. Like I didn't know what to do. Usually I'm involved. I don't know if you know this from Vanderpump Rules, but I'm usually a hundred percent involved
Starting point is 00:31:16 in all these arguments. This is my question I have for you is, and you can ask me the same question. What did you know going into the dinner? Nothing. Stop. Nothing, because it's all hearsay. I know, going into the dinner? Nothing. Stop. Nothing. Because it's all hearsay. I know but you're married to Brittany. Right. And Brittany had the conversation with she was there at girls night. Now do you know my wife? She does. She and first of all do you know
Starting point is 00:31:35 me? My mouth is gigantic. Okay. I have a big mouth. So Brittany tells me what I need to know. Right. Usually about five minutes before we have to know something. It's just not worth it. And I agree with her. Do not tell me anything because I will tell somebody something. So noted and not only that, I am petrified of the girls on Vanderpump and Valley because they're so witty and they're so quick and they're very good at arguing. And I'm the most stock human ever. I'm always like, well, you know, you suck and And this and that when these girls are kind of come for your
Starting point is 00:32:06 firstborn. Yeah. And they come at you. So yeah, I wasn't we were in a room and I was just, you know, Janet's going after Kristen. And Kristen's going, you know, Jasmine. And then, you know, Zach is pretty witty, too. And they're just going at each other. And I'm just you can see me just like this. I was like, there's all this good food here. And my head's down and I'm sulking and I don't know how to feel. And I I'm like they're yelling and I don't know what's going on I really don't because again Brittany only tells me right what I need
Starting point is 00:32:31 to know right so nothing more so all this is coming out a lot of he said she said and this is what I'm gonna get to real quick a problem with reality TV which it's been happening on Vanderpump rules for years is is that the group, the people talk in circles, okay? A lot of he said, she said. And the problem is, is they have to go to the source. So if somebody like, if you said, hey, Jack said this, well, let's get Jacks in the room. Instead, what they do is they go around and play telephone.
Starting point is 00:32:58 And then like by the time it gets around, like if you said ducks swim in the pond, by the time it gets on there, ducks are in the the ocean flying like yeah and that's what happens in reality TV instead of going to the source right they go to everybody else first then they go to the source yeah so then the everything that is yeah everybody's the bloods already boiling and I think all around and there's a couple people on Vanderpump and there's maybe one or two individuals on the valley who tend to get back in corners,
Starting point is 00:33:25 and when they do that, they just spew, whether it's true or it's not. I've done that before. I haven't done it on the valley. I haven't done it on the valley, but when I get back into a corner, and you feel like you don't know what to do, you just say something, and hopefully it sticks.
Starting point is 00:33:44 In this case, this was a topic that I don't know why it got brought up. I don't know why it made such a thing. And I think it's an awful thing that we had to go back there again, considering the situation. Yeah. But you know, how did you feel about it all? Uh, horrified. Yeah. horrified. When you went home, like, did you guys sit and talk about it? I mean, yeah. Oh, yeah. Big time. And the next day. And the next day. And I mean, it was like, and for me, I knew nothing. Right. Same thing. Yeah. Like, I, the next day, I was telling Nia,
Starting point is 00:34:17 why didn't you tell me? What was, and she goes, at that point, I was inside crying with Zach. And I wasn't hearing what you know, was being said and whatever. And then, you know, Zach yelled something that he didn't say anything or he didn't say that or whatever. She goes, I didn't even know literally what they were talking about. You know, I was like crying in a corner. Yeah. So she didn't tell me anything. So I'm having a great time having some cocktails. This is some great food. That's what I was sitting with you at the table. Which I don't think they showed it that you and I were like
Starting point is 00:34:47 literally the only one just sitting in the table. Exactly. In fact, I think Jesse was even involved and like everybody was involved in that. And I was like the first time in my reality career, I was not involved in an argument. And I can count one time and that's the one time that I was not involved.
Starting point is 00:35:04 I'm always involved in every. I know you are. Whether I did it or not, I involve myself. I was just like, I'm not going near this one. I'm out of my element here. And also people had such strong, you know, we have some strong willed individuals on this. Yeah, opinionated, heart headed. Yes, yes. And they were very adamant about getting their point across. I was Homer Simpson, the meme, where he's got the beer and he's just like, you know, slowly tucks away into the bushes. That's exactly me.
Starting point is 00:35:38 That was me. I'm like, I don't want any part of this. I mean, the ending was amazing. Just the facial expressions that were happening. Oh my god, I was like. Oh exactly. I was so Uncomfortable it was just such a beautiful night exactly together with that's why and you know I know how much Jesse and Michelle spent on that party and they wanted to be beautiful and I know But you know it typical reality TV fashion man
Starting point is 00:36:01 it goes around shots for fire some ugly words were said, and yeah, that was rough. That was rough. I mean, how do you think your mental health, through all this has been so far? I talk about mental health just because I feel like men don't talk about it enough, and I feel like the last five years
Starting point is 00:36:19 mental health has became a thing. Big time. I'm 44 years old. I grew up in a time where men really did not talk about their feelings. It was not, I don't wanna say it became a thing. I'm 44 years old. I grew up in a time where men really did not talk about their feelings. It was not, I don't wanna say it was shameful, but it almost was. Like if you were upset about something
Starting point is 00:36:33 or sad about something, I know growing up, you just didn't talk about it. You didn't cry, you didn't show emotions, you don't ask for help. You just didn't do that. Like I said, I'm a mid to late 80s, 90s kid, and men just didn't, you just sucked it up. And I just remember my dad, don't shake it off. We don't talk about that. I never saw my dad cry or get emotional once. Never, not ever
Starting point is 00:36:56 once. And I just feel like within the last five years that now it's been okay to talk about it, especially being on reality TV. your mental health have you checked in with it has it has it affected you at all mentally um I mean I only know that we're only in episode two and I but we did film the whole season Not at this point. Yeah, I mean during look dude. Are you kidding me? Well just cuz I know you're an actor I mean you're during during film right this was like my life. Yeah, and my life It was it was the perfect storm, okay? I had just had I had three kids under two well That's what I'm trying to say you have a three kids under two yeah, you're filming a reality show There's you already have enough shit in your life, right? It's up here. It was the perfect Anymore room for, right? It's up here. It was the perfect storm anymore room for poop We don't You know, so now you're adding in other people's drama other people's problems and I know like with my wife
Starting point is 00:37:55 My she doesn't check out she doesn't when she punches in she puts him punch out. She brings that shit home Yeah And if she's going through a hard time with her friends or whatever She'll come home and talk about it. And now she's in a bad mood and I'm kind of like, damn it, like, you know, there's people putting my wife in a bad mood when I need her to be in a good mood for me because I need to talk to her, right? You know? Yeah. And I feel like it's hard
Starting point is 00:38:17 for us guys to express stuff like that. And it's hard to talk about. And I feel like I finally I'm finally starting to realize because I didn't know in the beginning, it's okay to not be okay. And I never really knew what that meant. I really knew it, but I'm like, it's okay because we're just overwhelmed. Yeah. You know, and I feel like you got to talk it out, especially being on reality TV with all the different egos and emotions and personalities. And you know, like I said, the fact that you have,
Starting point is 00:38:43 you have three children and I have one and I'm just trying to keep my marriage together right now. I have to see people know that I'm going through a separation and just dealing with all that outside, are you handling it okay? Yeah, I had a different upbringing. My dad was not the masculinity in the macho. It was okay. We like come to me and tell me about how you're feeling. Like these are feelings, these are
Starting point is 00:39:13 valid. And you need to get them out and it's okay to get them out. You know, I love, you know, the, the, the saying that iron sharpens iron iron So when a guys can actually get vulnerable with one another which is the opposite. That's the scariest thing Yeah, right. You don't want to talk about that. No, it's like hey, hey you watched the game last night Yeah, I just beers, you know, it's like it was like how you doing. Well, how you really doing? I don't ask me how I'm really doing we talk about dude. I got my talk my wife about you know I'm not dealing with this stuff. But the more you bury and bury and bury, it's not healthy. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:39:49 It's literally like a cancer that can, you know, eat you from the inside out. I call it, I call it for breezing the situation because for breeze doesn't clean shit. It masks it for about 20 minutes and then it goes back to smelling again. 100%. So, you know, I think it's great that we're in this culture right now that's bringing awareness to that, to show that it's okay to be okay, especially for men in this society, men in marriages, men in relationships, and, you know, with one another. I'm really glad that there's been a shift in that.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Yeah, I think it's really healthy. In my opinion, too, I think a lot of people don't care about your mental health, you know, and then until it turns to like anger and then people just think you're a bad person. Yeah. You know, because it started somewhere and then all of a sudden you're angry, but then people just think, oh, he's an angry individual, but no one ever checked in on that guy. Right. No one ever saw, you know. Yeah. Where did that come from? You know, what's the root of it? I'm personally, I'm going through so much stuff right now with my marriage and trying to figure
Starting point is 00:40:48 out if we want to keep this going. The main reason, our main focus is our child and making sure that he grows up in a good household. But man, I think more now than ever, I always feel like I'm trying to always prove myself to nobody really. I always feel like I need more. I feel like I'm trying to always prove myself to nobody really. I always feel like I need more. I feel like I'm missing out. I feel like there's always a missing piece in my life.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I feel like I have a hard time enjoying my life. I have a hard time living in the present. I feel like I'm constantly looking for more. I never enjoy my accomplishments. I'm always looking for the next best thing. I have extremely hard time being happy and and if I am happy it lasts five minutes So I actually clearly have a lot of shit that I need to work out And I'm trying right now to find somebody that I can talk to you about this because I've gone through a couple
Starting point is 00:41:38 Therapists before that done me wrong. Yeah, I won't get into that I've had look I've had similar situations with a therapist and and not exactly as yours but you got to you got to find the right one. You do. You got to get through some of these that that just aren't a good fit or really shouldn't be therapists to find one that actually connects and actually you know can get the results that you're looking for. Yeah, it's tough because like I'm raising a son raising a son now. I want him to be able to look at me. I want him to ask me questions. I want him to know that it's okay
Starting point is 00:42:10 to go through certain things. And I want to be able to explain to him because I could never explain to my dad. I could never talk to him about it. But we're growing up a different world now and I want him to be able to come to me and be like, talk to me, how do I do that? I feel like I need to take classes on all this
Starting point is 00:42:26 because I'm learning to at 44 years old yeah I'm learning how to deal with my emotions and it's okay to be emotional and talk to people about it and the world that we live in in reality TV people don't understand it's super stressful it is extremely because I'm not only filming the show but then I got to rewatch it and then I got to hear all the comments and then I got to hear all the critiquing, and people just don't get it. Like, it's really tough, but I know from the outside
Starting point is 00:42:49 it looks pretty glamorous and a lot of fun, but it is really, really tough. You know? Yeah, it takes its toll. And everybody's got an opinion, everybody's got something to say, and you gotta learn to like, you know, compartmentalize a lot of that,
Starting point is 00:43:02 and that's always just been really, really tough for me. You got to be able to do that and I would also say, you know, you got to prioritize. That's a big thing, Jax. Yeah. Is prioritize and write it down. A huge thing is writing stuff down. Oh, yeah. I've been starting to do that. What are the top things in my life? You know, is it my marriage? Is it me being a father? Is it trying to save my marriage? Okay, let's start there. What tools then do I need to start doing to better myself?
Starting point is 00:43:34 Do I want to be a better father? Okay, what do I need to give more time to? What do I need to sacrifice? You know, these types of questions, you got to, hard questions. You gotta ask yourself. I agree But once you put it on paper, it does something it does something there's a shift that happens, you know mental in your heart and You know if you're not doing that I really advise you you start doing that I'm trying I'm trying all right When reality hits is brought to you by progressiveive Insurance. Tell me a little bit about Nia. How did you meet her? So for those of you that don't know, she is miss, formerly Miss Amer- No! Sorry, sorry. I was-
Starting point is 00:45:35 Careful. All right. Miss- Careful. Miss USA. Miss USA. What is the difference between Miss USA and Miss America? Okay. Sorry, is there a Miss America pageant? Yes. Two completely different organizations. Okay. Okay. So Miss America. Okay. Sorry, is there a Miss America pageant? Yes, two completely different organizations. Okay. Okay. Okay. So Miss America is that like, is that like,
Starting point is 00:45:48 sketchers versus the Nike or Reebok versus Nike? The Miss America, they, those are the ones that have a, they do a talent, they sing or they play the violin or they do backflips or you know, whatever it is Miss USA is a part of the Miss Universe organization, which is the biggest so miss and once miss your once your miss America That's it. You miss America for a year miss USA You then go on to miss universe, which is the biggest pageant in the universe Which literally like it's the in the top five of most watched things on television, like a billion people tune in for this stuff. It's like FIFA. Yeah. So it's, it's, it's insane. It's gotta be so like nerve wrecking getting up there. You're against the most beautiful people in the world. In the world. In the world. Dude, like 92 countries, Nia competed against and got first runner up.
Starting point is 00:46:45 I mean, that's... And was robbed. She should have won. She should have won. I mean, you're married to the second or the runner up of the world. Exactly. I mean... Which we had to take it...
Starting point is 00:46:56 We actually did... We took a few months off there because at that point she'd only won and I only date winners. So we took a few months off and I really had to grapple with that. That, you know, first runner up is, that's the, you know, second place is the first loser back to Talladega Nights. So, no, I'm joking. Wait, how did you guys meet? So, different stories from different people. So originally
Starting point is 00:47:34 My good friend Chris was had just got engaged to Kristen Dalton who was miss you with it miss USA 2009 okay, so we're invited to this engagement party and it was at this it was at the Americana in Glendale and It was some of the most obviously beautiful women you'd ever seen in your entire life. They're all pageant, you know, girls and they have this sisterhood. And I remember getting there and I remember seeing Nia from like across the way and turned to my buddy and I said, oh my gosh, that's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life. And she was there with a guy and so at some point in the night, you know, all the girls are just all over
Starting point is 00:48:06 Kristen, Kristen, Kristen. At some point in the night, there was like some conversations happening and there was a group of maybe like six or seven people. And we were in that group, Nia and I, and we had to introduce each other as well as everybody else did and just kind of like said, you know, just what we did and, you know, blah, blah, blah. And then went our separate separate ways, uh, she doesn't remember me at all from that night. Of course,
Starting point is 00:48:31 she was, you know, with all her friends and, and Kristen and all that, you know, whatever, but we do have the picture. And then I stalked her on Facebook for about three months. Um, but, uh, sliding those DMS. No, I mean, this was, oh, this is Facebook. Right. Yeah. Yeah. This is 10.
Starting point is 00:48:49 So we've been married eight years together, 10 years. So yeah, it wasn't even, I don't think, what do you call it in Facebook? Sliding into Facebook's? Flying into messages. Messages. I don't know how that works. I think that is where. So three months later, um, I'm volunteering at a church that we both go to called mosaic in Hollywood and she comes in and I'm like
Starting point is 00:49:11 oh my gosh, that's me, Nea Sanchez and I know her full name because I had been stalking her for three months on Facebook But she was sitting in the lobby and she wasn't coming in and I was like Oh, she's probably waiting for that guy that she was's probably her boyfriend or whatever girl comes in and they hug and uh they come to my door and I'm like hey welcome I'm like you're Nia right Nia Sanchez and she's like yeah and I was like oh we just we met real briefly at uh Kristen Kristen's um engagement party she's like oh yeah yeah yeah totally yeah I remember you blah blah blah lies. But she goes in at the end of the service, she'll tell you, she goes, hey, I want to go talk to that cute guy at the door.
Starting point is 00:49:50 She's cute. I would have used ridiculously good looking guy at the door. And they came over and, you know, we started to talk more. And there was a book club happening, you know, and and and one of the pastor had written a book and she was like, Hey, we're hosting a book club. And I was like, Oh, is it coed? And she was like, yeah, the more the merrier. And I was like, I had already signed up for someone else's. I was like, okay, I'll be there. So I left, called the guy. I was like, Hey, I'm not gonna be coming to your book club anymore, bro. I got stuff I was going to but um, I think the next day or two days later
Starting point is 00:50:29 I hit her up on Facebook saying hey, you know I'd love to take you out and and get to know you better, you know before even you know we start this book club and We had her first date. I gave her some options I do this story is hilarious. Like this story story could go I'm trying to get make it short. I know it's going really long. She had never been to Runyon. And I was like, how have you been lived in LA and not been Runyon? So we went to Runyon. And she pulls up in my
Starting point is 00:50:58 it's my house with a camel pack backpack with water with like this, the straw straw and I was like What we do in Mount Everest? This is most girls are wearing fake eyelashes and nothing. Yeah Yeah, and just tell the story that we're doing you know, we start doing running in five minutes And I take my shirt off because it was a hundred degrees. Got it, dude You're with the second most beautiful girl in the world. You know, at that point freaking shredded it all get out. Yeah. So I want to know, I wanted her to know right away what she was dealing with. The days of looking good before we got lowered have mercy. I'm getting back there, bro. I'm getting back there. So, uh,
Starting point is 00:51:36 so she was talks about that, but yeah, I took my shirt off and, and she got, she got down on one knee 10 minutes later and proposed. And it was like, wow, I'm joking that didn't happen. Yeah, the rest is history. We were inseparable and it moved very fast. You got something? What do you got, Steve? I'm just looking at both of your resumes, gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:51:57 And both of you have been on Desperate Housewives. Oh yeah. That's right. Danny, you played Mahoney and Jax played hot guy number two in Dance Party. I was hot guy number two that Edie hooked up with. Oh my gosh. That's right. Are we talking about this now?
Starting point is 00:52:14 Well, I'm sorry. I guess we'll jump over here just because Brittany is watching Housewives right now. I know. And she's like, I just saw- She just saw it. She texted me. Daniel on TV. I didn't know he was on Desperate Housewives. I was, I was.
Starting point is 00:52:27 Little fun fact, we shot our intro to the valley right behind the Desperate Housewives lot. Wisteria Lane. Wisteria Lane, we shot literally, we were about 50 yards away from Wisteria Lane. We shot right in front of the Jaws, right in front of the Jaws function. Yeah, display.
Starting point is 00:52:43 On the Nightmare on Elm Street, in between Night nightmare on Elm Street in between nightmare on street and wisteria lane But anyway, yeah, she saw you on desperate housewives. Yeah. Yeah, that was if that was a fun Fun guest spot I had on there. Very nice. Yeah, very nice Would you have anything funny to tell us about desperate house? Well, look, I don't have actually So one of the scenes is Basically the one of the dads one of the husbands is going back to school. Yeah, and He is We're giving him answers to the exam so that like we can do like laundry
Starting point is 00:53:23 I want some behind the scenes gossip as I don't have anybody behind the hot you know I was talking to Felicity Huffman like that was amazing like you know what she was like nominated that year something like that for some Golden Globe at the time oh my gosh I'm gonna tell this quick story just for like it's a funny like just moved to LA story. I'm very competitive. Right. And it's it's go big or go home commit or go home. Okay. And so when I came out here, I got in you know, acting classes and see studying improv and all that stuff. And, and he always took that with me, you know what I mean? When I was
Starting point is 00:54:04 working on scenes and whatever, you know, make, make strong choices. They can always pull it back, you know, whatever. And I got this audition for, it was just a commercial. It was like an AT&T commercial, but it was opposite Michael Phelps. It was around the Olympics. And, uh, and it was with him and you needed to be in speedo and have like goggles. And I said, okay, like it was the day before I called my buddy who I knew played water polo, who's actually a friend of JM's. JM
Starting point is 00:54:30 had played water polo with him. I could have, you know, asked for his speedo. So got the goggles, got the speedo. The next day I put on the stuff and I'm like, I have hairy legs. This is an audition. In my mind, I'm thinking, hey, go big or go home, dude. Swimmers don't have hairy legs. I'm a swimmer. Now, in this audition, I'm going to become this swimmer. So I take my electrical thing, just a trimmer. So I start trimming my thing. Trimming, not my thing, my legs. my legs halfway through the thing dies Okay, and I'm like oh my gosh, and I'm I'm like now late So I grab a big razor and I start shaving my legs big to the skin
Starting point is 00:55:17 I've done this and I'm gonna explain the story to you bro. Keep going. I think I am getting cuts all over my leg It's the but it was like I gotta do this. I got to do this I got to commit but now I got cuts all over my leg. I still put it was like I got I have to do this I got to commit but now I got cuts all over my leg. So now I'm grabbing toilet paper and and and clogging the cuts, right? I Get in there. I'm running. I got my speedo on I pull, you know my sweatpants over it I'm gonna tank top go to the audition and Constantly it's in my just head like, you know, I got to the audition and constantly it's in my just head like you know I got fire exactly so I go and you know what they do is that they'll bring like four
Starting point is 00:55:51 people at a time and they'll tell you what you know you're doing in the in the audition and I had had run to the bathroom and I took off the you know the the toilet paper and I'm sitting here listening and I can feel the blood. Oh my God. Tricking down my leg. Oh my God. And they're probably just like. No I'm not in my Speedo yet.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Oh. So I literally, I'm still wearing sweatpants. So I'm like, please don't say my name first. So I was number two. So I go out, I go to the bathroom and I literally just took it and tried to just, you know, clog them up as much as possible. When and did the audition, I just feel the blood like coming out and like never looked down, just played it off. Yeah. And of course, never
Starting point is 00:56:34 heard back. This is hilarious. I went through the same exact story. Stop. I did a Britney Spears music video in Miami was for the toxic hotel tour. Oh my god situation I take my pants off and they were like you were supposed to shave your leg I got the part I already put the part I showed up and they had to paint me in silver and I was a statue and I come to life again I don't know you're gonna put this in the in the thing it's it's the toxic hotel
Starting point is 00:57:01 the toxic hotel tour I'm a statue she looks at me and gives me a kiss on the cheek and I come to life. That's the whole thing Yeah, anyway, I take my pants off because I had to be in a speedo as well because they're gonna paint me I don't like silver right they're like you were supposed to shave your legs didn't your agent tell me I'm like no No, no, they're like we're gonna have to get somebody else. I'm like, no, no, no, this is exactly 2003 this is one of my first jobs is with David LaChapelle. Oh my God. Big deal. And I'm in Miami. I'm like, no, no, no, I'm fine. I keep my toiletry in my bag all the time. I always carry stuff. I go to, I had a big razor in my bag and I was in this, we were in this warehouse. I had the shitty bar of soap and I'm scrapped. Oh my God. Using a big razor. I'll be fine. I'll be fine. Like
Starting point is 00:57:44 we got to get you in paint now Are you ready or not Mike and I had the same thing happen to me I had cuts all over my legs and then I had to go into Makeup and put this silver paint all over my body So it's mixing in with the blood. Oh my good. And the makeup artists are like, are you okay? I'm like, yeah, because it's like it's hurting. It's toxic. Yeah It was the most painful thing I go go all for $800 It was 800 bucks man, but I tell you what it was my one of my first big jobs
Starting point is 00:58:18 I'm like man. I'm just gonna be in a Britney Spears video Yeah, David Lashley Pell's it. And I'm 22 at the time. Yeah, three. And I'm like, I don't give a yeah, same dude, same making it off. Yeah. And I'm hairy. I'm Italian. Yeah. Yeah. So that's me right there. Yeah. So I'm like, I'm shaving like with a big and it's like, I'm like I said, Italian thick course hair, right? Right. Just raw. Yeah, raw. And I and yeah this cut my fingers trying to get the hair off raw Dude, and well, and then they had to cover me in silver paint what so it works You know their story for 800 bucks and the box that was a two-day process for 800. Oh like how what a story
Starting point is 00:58:58 But no that yeah, that's amazing, but I have a good Julian Oh, yeah, I bet I bet bet there's so many in this you know when you try to get out into this and all the and you know all the movies and TV shows that I've worked on they she holy cow. It's been a blessing I tell you one of these days I'm gonna have to sit down and really write a book when I'm done with this industry because I don't think they would like it if I did it now. But one of these days I'm gonna have to sit down and write it because there's I have so many stories
Starting point is 00:59:25 that are very similar that people would just shake their head. But you know, you wanna be out here, you wanna be involved, and in those days it was a little different. You just wanna be part of something. That's why I was hot guy number two. I didn't care, I was just like, I just wanna be on set.

Yeah, but yeah, people love the lake life, which is weird because people spend all this money on their boats, and the winter, the boating, it's like three months. So I, like I know my brother-in-law, like he says to us, we're on the lake every, in the summer, every weekend, because they spend so much money storing it. Every day. Every day.
