Who Are These Podcasts? - Ep27 - The Bright Sessions

Episode Date: August 27, 2016

This week on WATP, the boys review another "theater of the mind" style podcast called The Bright Sessions.  The premise of the show is that we are listening in on private conversations between a ther...apist and her patients as they deal with "paranormal" type events in their lives.  Kevin thinks the paranormal stuff should also include sasquatches and chupacabras but to each his own.  Karl can't get enough of the sound effects and puts together a few music medleys to help the show when it suffers from lack of substance.  Cobra Commander drops by for a brief and unwelcomed hello because apparently that is all that Kevin can focus on now.  We are both amused by the onslaught of cheap sound effects used during the Bright Sessions and adopt a few of our own for the show as well.  So get your notepad, close the door behind you and walk heavy footed over to the couch and listen to another gem of a podcast. Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and welcome to another episode of Who Are These Podcasts, I'm Kevin. And I'm Carl, and we listen to podcasts so you don't have to. We want to remind our listeners that you could check us out on WhoAreThese.com and on Facebook. We're always looking for podcast suggestions, so send us an email, leave us a comment, or post a death writ. On today's show, we'll be analyzing and reviewing a podcast called The Bright Sessions. As always, we both listen to the show separately. We've not discussed it with each other beforehand, so without further ado, let's find out
Starting point is 00:00:33 once and for all who are these pop-up-up-up-podcasts. It's show time. W-A-T-P! W-A-T-P! Everyone out there in America, W-A-T-P! W-A-T-P! Everyone out there in America, W-A-T-P! A-T-P! W-A-T-P in the morning. Yes. Hey, Kevin. Hey, chat with you again.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Yes, good to chat with you as well. So, you know how you're always apologizing for other people's things that they're into because you collect lagos and you know, you're other interests. And so when we goof on people, adults for liking my little pony or whatever, you kind of feel bad. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:01:53 And I'm always the one saying, fuck these people, you know, they're into dumb shit. Well, I have a confession to make. I do have to move along today because I have my fantasy football draft in a little while. So really those those in class houses should not be throwing stones. Yes. Well, I mean, I guess you could say that there's a lot of people who are into fantasy football, probably more so than adult Lego collecting, but yeah, but we're all assholes for it. It really is.
Starting point is 00:02:24 It really is ridiculous. I it ruins football and I play in two different leagues and yet I hate everyone who plays fantasy football. We should do a podcast on one of those podcasts. You'd be a little lost, but I kind of know what I'm talking. Well, not really fantasy stuff, but I'm alright. I guess. All right. All right. Well, then maybe we can spend a whole 40 minutes goofing on me sometime in the near future. Okay. So we listened to the bright sessions. And this was a podcast. I kind of stumbled upon it's a drama, it's fictional, it's scripted. It's very different than a lot of the podcasts that are out there and a lot of the podcasts that we review. And it's different because it's actually quote unquote actors who are reading through a script. The tagline is an audio drama about therapy for the strange and unusual. Yeah, and I guess I was going into this kind of thinking it was going to be like, I've seen UFOs or, you know, Sasquatch, fuck me.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I know what? Well, yeah, but I mean, I guess the clips that we listened to were, so there was three major characters, right? So there was three major characters, right? So there was Sam, Chloe, and Caleb, Caleb, that's it. And it was a C word. A C word. He was a C word. No Sam was the C word. So just to kind of briefly go over it with the audience, Sam, her thing is that she time travels.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Chloe is that she speaks to angels or angels speak to her. And Caleb basically can read the emotions of other people. No, Caleb actually feels other people's emotions. Okay, feels okay. Which that sucks. I don't even wanna feel my emotions. That's why I use heroin so much. That sounds like a really shitty superpower to have. Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't like it too much, but you know. So basically what we're talking about is these shows
Starting point is 00:04:40 are just conversations in a therapy session between the therapist and this person who has some type of superpower. So it's the most boring form of science fiction fucking possible. Well the first clip I listened to was the Sam one. So like, you know, I'm listening to Long and I'm like she says, oh I can you know I travel through time. Now it took her a long time to fucking get there but she finally says that she can travel through time. Now, it took her a long time to fucking get there, but she finally says that She can travel through time or she time travels and blah blah. I I perked right up. I was like, oh, that's cool I'm into, you know, that kind of bullshit, you know, and
Starting point is 00:05:16 Then it just didn't really seem to go anywhere and the other two were the other two were just kind of let downs to me the whole You know feeling feelings and the angels thing. I was like All right, what's what's play the clip? What's uh, let's get into it. Okay. Yeah, I have a track one here It's kind of how the whole so you're supposed to listen to this in order This is how the whole series starts and I call this bad writing plus bad acting equals I'm yes, hi. I'm here for a session. For a therapy session, that is. Two o'clock.
Starting point is 00:05:48 I have a two o'clock appointment. It's my first time. In therapy, I mean, that's probably obvious. I'm Sam, Samantha. My name is Samantha Barnes, but you can call me Sam. Or Samantha. Everyone is fine. Whatever you're comfortable with.
Starting point is 00:06:02 It's your office. So that's the time traveler, Sam. Right. And Kevin, I'll go ahead. She's also actually the writer of most of these episodes. That's how he's just going to say, so this is Lauren Chippen. And Lauren Chippen is writing, directing, whatever, it's her brainchild. And she's the worst actress. That is terrible. Nobody talks like that. Yeah, I... There's times where she's okay, where I'm kind of like you get sort of sucked into it, but then there's times where it's painfully obvious that you're listening to like a radio play. I think where they're falling down is they're trying to put in all these little sides. Actually, I was listening to this last night with my body
Starting point is 00:06:49 and he kind of observed by trying to make it sound realistic, it's actually more unrealistic. It'd be if you and I were just having an off the cuff conversation, I was like, Kevin, listen, I know that we need to do our podcast this week, but well, you know, I guess we still could. I'm not sure if maybe we can move it. It's Sunday not naked for you I don't know well no let's just do Saturday like that's how they're fucking talking right right yeah it's um I
Starting point is 00:07:12 mean I'm I'm certainly no actor but I mean it's they're trying to portray I it's gotta be hard I'm trying to portray acting no I mean it's I think it's probably is it more difficult I guess for any actors that are listening if they're fucking are any? I don't know is it harder to Emote and do those types of of acting essentially when you're when it's an audio only medium or is it easier to convey medium or is it easier to convey those some of those subtle things if there was video here if this was actually like a All I know is whenever I hear actors talk about doing the Pixar movies or cartoons It's a walk in the park. They fucking love doing those things They just have to go into a salad booth
Starting point is 00:08:04 Say some lines and and collect their paycheck. So I got to imagine it's easier with being just too dimensional. Right. Well, I know from my experience of doing voiceover for the GI Joe cartoon, that it is pretty easily to do that. Oh, is that, are you talking about your co-op or commander work that you did back in the 80s? Yeah, yeah, you know, I did okay with it for a while.
Starting point is 00:08:22 And his co-op cobra commander is gonna rock him Jack the squirrel is gonna shock ya And he's gonna make with the walk the walk His captain's funny voices It sounds like a gay porn out here Hello everyone, it's the... It's cobra commander again Hey cobra commander, what's going on buddy?
Starting point is 00:08:44 What's up? Oh, because you're like a snake right? It's Cobra Commander again! Hey Cobra Commander, what's going on buddy? What's S-S-O-P! Oh, cause you're like a snake right? Yeah, well yes, that's my thing! Is it- How annoying is it to the audience that I try to work in Cobra Commander in every fucking episode now? I have not seen- we've got a lot of hate now. No one's complained about Cooper Commander. That's so bad.
Starting point is 00:09:06 It can't be that bad. Look at that. This, they, they saying that this is therapy for the strange and unusual, but we'll see what these actors, it sounds more like, it's therapy for the strange and unemployable. I don't know what the guys do outside of this fucking podcast drama that no one listens to you, but Hampe edge and it's about this what was her name shipping
Starting point is 00:09:31 Lauren ship Lauren ship and yeah, she's got a website. I think it's Lauren ship and calm and you can see some of the other stuff She's they're all like you know actors in LA or whatever, you know, they're all just sort of Try to bake it like the girl who plays the therapist there is also an actress, stage actress and things like that. So I mean they're you know, they're trying, they're doing their thing, you know, and maybe they're, I don't know, I'm gonna not fucking take that stance this time. Since you say I apologize for everything. I just, I don't know. I'm gonna get in 3D.
Starting point is 00:10:10 I can't even repeat after me, fuck these people. Okay, fuck these people. I hope they get fired from their barista jobs. This has been a good session, Kevin. I feel good, you know? This is, yeah, this is like a therapy session. It. I feel good, you know? This is, yeah, this is like a therapy session. It's a break, the break sessions, the Carl sessions.
Starting point is 00:10:30 The, the asshole session. Tell the event. With Carl Hebert. Oh, hey Carl, I'm sorry. Oh, oh, oh, should I come in? Oh, okay. Yeah, I gotta have a door sound effect in there. What's, well, let's talk about the sound effects.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Okay. Because I have a thing on here that's called, this therapist has the world's loudest door, play track or D. You must be Chloe. Why don't you come in? Please, take a seat. It's so stupid. This theater of the mind thing. There's another random sound effect. I think it might be a pen like she's writing play track 3. Like at this sort of light headed dizzy feeling and then
Starting point is 00:11:29 the edges of my vision go hazy. And I get this. Like this weird intense tightness in my chest. Yeah, and it's a pen. Yeah, I noticed that one do. Did you imagine a pen being that fucking loud? What is she? What is she writing? is she writing out there? Having actually gone to therapy for like 15 years,
Starting point is 00:11:48 you do hear it, because it's silent as fuck. When you stop talking and all you hear is that, that writing of them like saying, this person is mentally disturbed. I need to get out of this situation. I need to leave the room. Whatever they are, whatever the hell they're writing down, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Exactly. And it's interesting you say that, whatever they are, whatever the hell they're writing down, I don't know. Exactly. Yeah. And it's interesting you say that because I noticed this show, one of the issues I had with it is that it's very flat because you're doing this drama, but it's all taking place just within this room. So yeah, the door opens and closes at the beginning and end of every episode, which is, you know, it's unnecessary, I guess, as the word right word to use. But other than that, like, what sound effects do you have? It's just two people having a conversation. And I thought it needed like some some
Starting point is 00:12:32 spicing up. It needed more. So there's actually a clip that I put together that I call this part needed something. It needed this. Essentially, unbelievably. I can time travel. Your unbelievable... I can time travel. I can tie a couple. I can tie a couple. I can tie a couple. I'm believeable.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Wouldn't the show been so much more entertaining? I like it. That's it there. I like number one. It's an upvote for for Huey Lewis in there. And also, I think it's kind of funny like her powers as she explains them are like, they're like, she has Bill and Ted's big adventure or whatever the name of that movie is. Yeah, excellent.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Yeah, excellent. She's got that type of time travel ability. So she only goes back to famous things in time. Like, I want to go back to some boring bullshit thing. I don't want to. You know, she's going back to talking with Sigmund Freud and like, oh, shit. Right. Right. An ancient greekian.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Yeah. I actually have an example of that. Play track seven. But sometimes it's really obvious, like Greece was, or Victoria and England, or the Civil War. God, that was very loud. So this fucking asshole says the Civil War was very loud. So this fucking asshole says the Civil War was very loud. It wasn't it wasn't terrifying or brutal. She gets there she's just like, hey shithead turn the cannon down.
Starting point is 00:14:33 What the fuck? The reason it was so trapped in over here. The reason it was so loud, it was ACDC was playing the Civil War. That's what. What was about to run? Five, we said two, we said two. What about to run? Yeah. That's funny. She traveled back in time to a Civil War reenactment. Yeah, I traveled to the Civil War, which was very loud.
Starting point is 00:15:04 I don't know if it had a Melvin's War, which was very loud. I don't get a Melvin's concert. That was pretty loud. I traveled back a time to Ditus or Junior. All right, so then this is, I have a lot of clips with Sam, but I want to fast forward. So each episode is about 12 minutes long and Kevin Isle listen to the first half dozen or so. So the one with this 16-year-old kid who can feel other people's emotions, there was a part that I didn't think seemed all that realistic play track 10. Remind me, what was the topic? Me Beth. That's right.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Did you enjoy reading it? It was okay, I guess. What 16-year-old would think reading the Beth was okay, I guess? Right. I think like, because I was forced to reach Shakespeare, and I don't understand a fucking line of it. Like, you put all those old-timey words together and I'm completely lost. There's references to things that don't understand a fucking line of it. Like you put all those old tiny words together and I'm completely lost.
Starting point is 00:16:06 There's references to things that don't exist anymore. I can't make kinds of tales of fucking Eddie Shakespeare. And this 16 year old's like, yeah, that's pretty good. I don't know. Yeah, and they also, they already, I think at this point, established that he's a jock. So like he's a football player. Right, he's a football player.
Starting point is 00:16:24 So he's like, you know, he's calling jock. So like he's a football player. Right. He's a football player. So he's like, you know, he's calling people names and it's just like they paint him as a typical jock and then they ask him about Mcbeth and he's like, yeah, I'm sorry. You know, it wasn't where the red firm grows, but you know, it's like, I think they she hoarded in because they started talking about plot lines with the Mcbeth. I feel like the writer was just kind of showing off that she knows a lot about Macbeth or something. But if you notice in the clip, the pacing of it, and I guess it's maybe that's realistic, I haven't been in therapy sessions,
Starting point is 00:16:55 but it's just very slow going, and there's just silence in between. So I thought I would play around with it and try to make it something that's a little bit more interesting to listen to. So I just put a little music in the background play track 11. How was school this week? It's all right. You had a big presentation in English class. Isn't that right? Yeah. How did it go? It was okay.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Remind me what was the topic? It was a bad thing. That's right. Did you enjoy reading it? It was okay, I guess. I didn't really like the witches. Don't you think that that kinda pulls it together a little bit better
Starting point is 00:17:52 because there's so much space in between this conversation. Anyway, it was a 16 year old kid he's supposed to be like not great at communicating. But after I put that together, I thought, well, it's better, but it could be even more upbeat. So I tried it with better music. Play Track 12. How was school this week? Sorry. You had a big presentation in English class, isn't that right? How did it go? It's okay.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Remind me of what was the topic? That's fine. So, you'll agree, that's a little bit better. If the podcast had been like that, you would have probably gotten out here and been like, this is pretty good, this's a little bit better. If the podcast had been like that, you would have probably gotten out here and been like, this is pretty good, this is a pretty good podcast. Big bad therapy voodoo bit daddy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:53 So, but then I couldn't help myself, Kevin. I was like, you know what, I can do better. I'm always thriving to do better. And I think I fucking nailed it. I call this one third times the charm. I definitely improved their podcast with this. How was school this week? Get lost, come to the side now The battle is over We'll be on the drain
Starting point is 00:19:27 I knew it The battle is over I knew it The race will be over The battle is over The battle is over Dude, I I looked at that guy in last week's fight guys I Dude I like that guy in last week's podcast I'm popping my fists to the air like this fucking podcast is the shit Yeah, that was that was messed it on probably right
Starting point is 00:19:57 Yeah, that was master Yeah, that was awesome. I can listen to that. Yeah, definitely. I could listen to that way more Yeah Yeah, definitely. I can't lose to that way, but yeah. All right, so I didn't put any music on anything last week. So I definitely tried to make up for it. This week, you had mentioned that Chloe, who's the third patient introduced in the third episode, that she has angels talked to her. Right. So, of course, this reminded me of something else. Play Track 15. Who started talking to you?
Starting point is 00:20:34 The angels. You believe that angels are speaking to you? I don't believe it. It's true. They're speaking to me right now. It's a little quieter than usual at the moment. Oh Sorry, I just fucked the black Rose and I like that very much So I love the end of that black Rose very much. I love the end of that playlist. I had to get some bass out of there. Oh, geez. I thought you were going to play that really shitty song from like the 90s. It was like, how can you talk to an angel? You know, I'm glad to do that. Yeah, so I do Was it one of those those assholes from edge 90s was a terrible thing for music
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yeah, and I don't listen to anything from the 90s anymore. I feel like Yeah, well, I could name a few that you probably do, but I mean, I yeah, there's a few button mostly you mostly my shits like you know 70s and like early 80s and then Metal those are like the things that I I like the hero So you're talking about actual specific time periods of music was coming out. What's what's battle? How does that fit into the equipment metal metal is fucking timeless? Dude speaking of which I am pretty stoked Labor day weekends coming up next weekend and Sunday night
Starting point is 00:22:43 Mac Sabbath is gonna be in town. Oh, that's the McDonald's themed Black Sabbath band, right? That's exactly what you're doing. It's like a grimaced played bass and Mayor McCheezes on guitar, it's gonna be, it's gonna be tits. I'm not actually getting paid for both the show, I'm so glad you told it.
Starting point is 00:23:01 I will be going to see Mac Sabbath and I'll be sitting there. Yeah, well, I think I just saw that they're playing down here too recently. And there's another, there's like another, there's a whole bunch of those kind of like parody sort of bands where it's like a gimmicky metal band or whatever.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Yeah, there's like a ragged version of Black Sabbath too. I wanna say, there's this one band I've heard of, it's they do like instrumental surf music and they're called The Isotopes. Oh, sweet, that sounds cool. Yeah, yeah, that's pretty interesting, I don't know. Not really nice. There's this up, not my cup of tea, but.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Black Sabbath tribute act. These guys actually pull their cocks out. It's called jack Sabbath Really it's pretty it's pretty sweet. That sounds awesome I was reminded last night that my mother-in-law lets us do our show. Oh Don't Jack Sabbath come on that come on at you literally everybody here comes the jerk of the jerk off Yes
Starting point is 00:24:02 I want to make a comment about some of the sound effects that they use because it's funny like when there's silence, it's almost like they don't want the dead air so they put in like a ticking clock. I don't even know what you're gonna do. No, but hear that. And then the door sound effect that you played before in that clip, it sounds like you know those cassettes
Starting point is 00:24:24 that you could get it like Halloween time I don't even know the CD style but yeah, yeah, yeah, you know like it was like a creaking door and like oh Yeah, like a bitch that's a door that fucking creaking right that's exactly what it sounded like though But it was like you know those stupid tapes were I just remember this as a kid because I could be like And then you hear it. Like, which, like laughing and some guy like, oh, oh, oh.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Yeah, the sound effects were definitely fucking shoehorned in. They didn't make a whole ton of sense to me. Speaking of sound effects, so Sam likes to, what she doesn't like to, but she time travels uncontrollably. So at the end of the first episode, she actually time travels and I have that, I clip of that, track eight. Sam, are you all right? You look very pale.
Starting point is 00:25:20 I don't believe that, of all the times. Oh God, I'm so sorry. Patient grew increasingly panicked and vanished. No sign of a vortex or any other manipulation of space. I love that she's writing out her notes afterwards and writes no sign of a vortex. Did you look everywhere? Did you move the couch? Are you sure there's no vortex? It would have been awesome if she's like patient disappeared, but did not pay copay. Very, very disappointing. I love that this therapist is all of a sudden figuring out exactly where a vortex would be showing up if someone were to vanish into there. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:26:06 And it's just part of the ridiculousness. Like I played this, I grabbed this one clip. I just call it ridiculous conversation. And it's almost the kind of sums up the show for me. It's a little bit of everything. Play track 16. I mean, modern medicine has come so far, right? And I was looking up some stuff online and there are plenty of drugs now that deal with pretty serious conditions.
Starting point is 00:26:28 While that's true, I don't think it applies here. You time travel, Sam. Your body bends both space and time on a regular basis. That's a little outside the realm of modern medicine. She's just fucking dumb. She knows a lot about time travel. This is the- Right, I know, this is that clip is from their second session.
Starting point is 00:26:51 She's already like, got it all figured out like, no, this is how it's gonna go happen. Once a month, your body sheds its uterine lining into the past. Okay. All right, so another example of just bad writing play track for you don't have family boyfriend girlfriend Friends my parents are dead And I'm an only child so
Starting point is 00:27:28 I just doubt it. If there's no emotion there, it's not well acted. And that's the first neurotic, too. There's another thing in this goes back to the writing again, play track five. Sometimes, it's significant historical events. Sometimes there isn't another living soul around. So, and I was listening to this last night with my buddy, he pointed out, nobody ever says another living soul. No one's ever said that it's only in song lyrics that for some reason it's like,
Starting point is 00:27:57 all of a sudden you have to fill up the syllables, I guess, to get the right pacing in the line. You'd say another living soul. But then we were kind of brainstorming on other things that nobody's ever said except for its song lyrics. Can you ever said down on Bended Knee? Pfft. No. Can't say anything.
Starting point is 00:28:18 It's only a song lyrics thing, but you know like down on Bended Knee. So because you were asking for it and I did not deliver last week, play track six. When somebody tell me how to get things back the way they used to be, oh God, you'll be no reason. I'm developing in me.
Starting point is 00:28:49 I'm down in the middle of the room. There's your voice about Assely happy. Yeah, I'm B-E-D-B-E. Yeah, thank you for that. I want a Motown Philly, but this will do for now. That Motown, I couldn't transition off of a clip easy enough. I had enough, I sheared that one in. Yeah, I definitely know right now to, wait, I gotta get a pen sound effect. I'm making a note that I gotta get that song worth it, what are these things.
Starting point is 00:29:22 Make sure you close the door behind you before you start taking notes. And run it, walk across the door, and then carefully nod to the smiling witch in the corner. The show can easily just start with the conversation. It doesn't, you don't need to open the door, the creaky door. You don't need to walk across the room. Right. It's so dumb. A lot of sound effects. I know you pointed it out last week too, like the footsteps are like, like really?
Starting point is 00:29:54 It's a 20 year old girl, and you hear her walking and she's like, Oh, I have seats. So fucking dumb. So this is what I can figure out, Kevin. I don't know what popular this is, but why would anyone listen to like this plotless fictional conversation show? I don't have time to watch Game of Thrones, but I'm guessing it's a little better than this. If you did have time to be entertained, wouldn't you turn to something that's actually,
Starting point is 00:30:25 um, I mean, in today's day and age, there's so much out there. Yeah, I mean, here I go. Here I go defending again. I gotta think game throws is at least twice as good as this, right? It's yeah. It's yeah. I think so. No, I mean, I just wish that they would have, because I don't mind the premise at all and I'm not even like someone who listens to these kind of radio play kind of podcasts, but yeah, you're you're called everybody. Well, yeah, I mean, but they're I they're very popular actually. There's a lot of that. Yeah, there's a lot that are that are very very popular that I've been you know People recommend them to me all the time to check out Not for this show, you know obviously, but you know to listen to and I just
Starting point is 00:31:15 There wasn't enough you're gonna make something about like paranormal things you got to step it up a little bit I mean talking to angels and feeling emotions is a little I don't, I want some art bell shit. You know what I mean? I want fucking Chupacabra and dumb shit like that. Like, you know, I want the girl to come in and be like, I was raped by a succubus last night. Like that kind of shit is like more.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Devon, not only should you write that episode, you should do the voice talent out of it too. You know, or like somebody comes in and is like, I saw, I saw a Sasquatch while I was at football practice and he was like in stance and he had a whole huge set of foam fingers and he was, you know, like that kind of shit would be, you know, better. Like, that would be better. Like Sasquatch fans, you know, or like, that's fucking retarded. Well, I mean, it's said he isn't better than listening to shit about like, uh, like an angel talking to you. I don't know. I was, now I was starting to fucking wonder.
Starting point is 00:32:22 When you were talking to a promise promised I thought it was terrible. There was the Chupacabra, and he was there selling hot dogs. Everybody in stands at the football game. And I bought one of the hot dogs, and it was delicious. It was delicious. A later I found it was made from pieces of his tail, which I was not too thrilled about. But let me close the door behind me as I leave. You got to put that in in post. But let me close the door behind me as I leave
Starting point is 00:32:47 You got to put that in in post Promise me put that in in post like we just just be getting up and moving in a different room The other thing about this show is you know, they're like-minute long episodes, but they have credits at the end of every episode. Yeah. So I have a clip of that to give you an idea of what's going on. Track 9. Special thanks to Elizabeth Laird for her advice as both a psychologist and fiction lover. To Elizabeth and Matthew Harrington for their enduring support. And to Annalori for a graphic design. They have a graphic designer for a podcast, Kevin.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Yeah, that's a little. I didn't understand that, but I didn't clip it, but the costume design was by Mary Weathers. Key grip was Michael Trudeau and cinematography by Stia. What are they talking about? And Dor... What do you mean it? Dorf Foley.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Dorf Foley. Dorf Sound Effect from How Are We Sounds 7? talking about and door you see it I'll be fully who's source out effect from how we sound seven I just find it fascinating to me that this podcast is so easy to put together what they what they've done here Isn't not difficult to do and they have to go through and give fucking the credits at the end of every episode I don't know I feel like it's embarrassing. Any other clips that I pulled from the Bright Sessions? Any other things that we missed here that we wanted to talk about? I don't think so. To sum it up, what I recommend this podcast to somebody, only if they're into really, really lame paranormal shit, and
Starting point is 00:34:27 also have ever gone to the therapist before. Has anyone ever said, well, I'm into paranormal stuff, but it's gotta be really lame. It's gotta be really tame, tame, tame stuff, yeah. I think your version of cool paranormal is when there's a sassclotch rooting for a football team. Well, that's just one example. You know, maybe, maybe the next week, like, you know, the sassclotch is like the ballboy or something, like he's the one carrying the equipment out to the field for other branches. You know, the obvious in the biz, this idea has legs. I think gold places with this. And then, and then maybe the next week, he's like pissed off of people for taking his Jack links beef jerky. Hey, that's our sponsor this week.
Starting point is 00:35:14 We just worth see how he worked that in everybody. We are seamless when we talk about our sponsors. And you know what, Kevin, I'm going to leave the room right now and go and get myself a Coke Zero. I've making so much work for Kevin. No, you don't get up again. Hold on a second. This isn't the right Coke Zero. I want to go get a sprites. Kevin, this has been fun. And you know what, next week, we're going to do it again. Yay! So, I'm going to hold different direction.
Starting point is 00:35:52 And actually, I picked a podcast that I did not pick. This was a suggestion from a listener. So, why don't you play the teaser so we can give people an idea of what will be suggesting ourselves to for next week. I know this feels like a continuation of our conversation. Yeah, we're drinking beer. I mean, setting the stage so people can get a visual. Controlling monster. I am.
Starting point is 00:36:16 And I lost my voice. I just want to say I lost my voice. Yeah, and I'm I'm hungover, which I wish I could say is the first time I've done this podcast hungover. Oh, it's totally better. It's not. Yeah, yeah. No, I think I could say is the first time I've done this podcast hungover. Oh, it totally better. It's not. Yeah, yeah, no, I think this is going to be the best podcast I've ever done. I'm really excited about it. No, it's really, it's gonna be good.
Starting point is 00:36:34 I did, I just did that thing. Sorry, I got this sound. I'm gonna sit on the ground. What if the Sasquatch was the ground. What if the Sasquatch was like not picked for the team even though he's like huge and like could easily be like a tough on the defensive line or something. Oh wait a minute. Oh yeah this is pockets. So what's this next week's podcast then? So are people just like racist against the Sasquatch and And that's why they don't pick him? Is he like, well, yeah, I mean, he is brown.
Starting point is 00:37:08 So I mean, you know, you take that as you will. I mean, yeah, what's she to brown? How dark are we talking? I don't know. He's dark enough, you know, he's not like a abominable snowman guy, like, you know, like the, like that type of like a white Sasquatch. He's a, he's a brown Sasquatch. So, so he could be like the Jackie Robinson of Sasquatches is what you're saying. Yeah. Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Right. Very. I think so. You know, it could be like, what's that movie with the best, the football player and, and what's her name? Sandra Bullock, you know, like that. But it's not like racist, because it's a Sasquatch. So it's a different thing, but he's a brown Sasquatch. So I mean, it's a whole other species of person or whatever thing.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Anyway, we're touching moment where he goes home and his mom has to comfort him because he didn't make the team and you know then he gets really pissed off and his dad goes to the school board and talks to the superintendent. I just have this picture in my head of like a giant Sasquatch. Like they tell him he's not on the team and he just looks down and like kicks the dirt. He's right. Like, boo. He's so upset. He's like this 12 year old fucking red hair again. I was like, oh, I'm excited because he's going to be playing D-Line.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Bucsum. It's got legs, my friend. So next week, we're going to listen to a show called This Feels Terrible. This is a show on a feral audio, which also has Harman Town. This episode 74 called Alexi Wasser, who is the guest on this show. And the reason why I was suggested for us to listen to, this woman, Erin McGathey, is the host of it. And the whole premise is that she's terrible at relationships and is always heartbroken and upset. And so this is like two girls getting together to talk about relationships and being heartbroken and it's going to be terrible.
Starting point is 00:39:23 I can already foresee this being another one where we get fucking nasty tweets and shit. Oh, God. What, were you the pic on our show? I'll just award my mother-in-law now that the C word might come out a couple times. Show her back to me. So that should be fun. And for the people who love to hate us, this will be one to hate for sure.
Starting point is 00:39:52 So please, join us again next week because it might be the show where we find out once and for all. Who are these podcasts? Sleep well every pony. I'm gonna rush this of Morning Radio And now to show these clothes right now I You know, who are these? Podcasts. I don't know. I don't get it. Makes no sense.
