Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, and my cousin, Layla is on the podcast, but this is not my brother and my cousin today. This is Ella worship y'all, and I'm so excited
because today, right here, right now,
as you're listening, prime time,
we are announcing the title of our new EP
that's coming out September 1st,
so you're not far from hearing it,
but the title, should I let y'all say it?
I feel like y'all wrote it, y'all should say it.
You go, you do.
You'll be the same.
You'll be the same.
Okay, the title is Holy in my heart.
It's so good.
September 1st, so excited.
Look at my heart.
And it's amazing, y'all.
I cannot wait for you out of here.
We're gonna go through some of the songs
and talk about the heart behind it.
But first, I want people to get to know y'all
because y'all are special to me.
And it actually is crazy.
If you don't know the backster and Ella worship,
I wanted to start Ella worship for years and years.
And it was really hard for me to find the right worship leaders
and the right time to start.
And we went through several different people and seasons.
And we thought this was it and it wasn't.
We thought that was it and it wasn't.
Then all of a sudden, I realized is right in front of me, which is so funny and so good. You know, I'm searching in all
these places, lived in Nashville forever, thought, surely we'll find it there. And then all
of a sudden I look up and I'm like, my brother is extremely talented and loves the Lord.
My cousin who I saw just crushing it at Camp Shoga, I was like, what in the world? She is like so gifted and talented and anointed and then
Reeves who's like, literally my god brother, I grew up with him. We have like pictures and diapers together.
It's insanely talented and gifted and Kaylee who we played softball together. You know, it's just like crazy how God just worked it all together.
And y'all are all so amazing. But let's let the people get to know y'all a little bit in a fun way.
So we're gonna do a little disser that.
Okay.
First things first, pancakes or waffles.
Waffles?
Pancakes.
Wow, already we have a little right answer.
That, no, it's definitely pancakes.
No offense, Lila, we respect you.
Coffee or tea?
Coffee.
See, I'm a tea girl.
Okay.
That's good.
Okay, Justin Bieber or One Direction throwback.
I feel like when I was a kid, it was One Direction.
But now, looking back, I'm like, Justin Bieber is the clear,
like, I go with Bebes.
I go with Bebes.
I was definitely a believer, my whole life.
And then One Direction, when I went to their concert, they almost won me over, but I was like a believer, my whole life. And then one direction, when I went to their concert,
they almost won me over, but I was like, no, I'm dedicated.
Okay, this is also a throwback.
Okay.
Edward or Jacob, were y'all even in that era?
I was kind of in it.
She, yeah, she may have been too young,
but I was sort of in it.
I always like Jacob.
Yeah, the wear was like Jacob.
I respect that.
It's a kind of like different approach,
you know, to like Jacob.
I feel like Edward's like the clear cut.
I'm an Edward girl.
He's like the serious Jacob.
It's like, it's like, you know,
Jacob is like so cute.
It's a clear shot.
It is.
For me, I was very practical.
I've always been very practical my whole life.
And I remember whenever I was like 15, 16, everyone's like,
Jacob, we're gonna be right back.
And I was like, here's the thing.
I get really cold at night.
And if I had a vampire beside me,
like Edward, that would do me no help
because he would be too cold.
So I would have to choose Jacob
for the reasoning of being cold.
That's a well-thought out answer.
I'm way too practical for life sometimes.
Okay, America's Got Talent or American Idol?
American Idol.
Oh, I like both.
I watched America's Got Talent way more
than I watched American Idol.
Whenever we are little for sure.
Okay, respect that.
New Yorker LA.
New York.
Wow, I love this. Okay, this one's gonna really,
this one's gonna really get will fired up. Marvel or Justice League? Marvel or DC? Justice League,
if you- No, okay. This pie has been in it for many years. Both are really great. I have just, I've
Marvel has always tried. Marvel's nostalgic. If you don't know anything about Will,
he is obsessed with Marvel.
Like he knows the whole universe.
Like he is.
All right, now a little bit more specific
to what you'll do.
Harmony or lead?
Harmony.
Lead.
Love that, and you'll do very well at both.
You could definitely rock either, but that's cool.
And you'll sing a couple of two of the songs together. Yeah, maybe could definitely rock either but that's cool and y'all sing a couple of two of the songs together
Yeah, I think you do one
I
Mean presence he presence I am singing harmony on that yes, and then and then
Holy enough holy enough. Yeah, holy enough icing harmony. Yeah, but still I mean I love both
Yeah, we our voices actually like kind of are in like a same range.
Also, I love singing harmony.
And then of course we did when open at a more serious conference.
That was really cool.
But yeah.
Okay, piano or guitar or either.
piano.
100% drums.
I'm gonna get a 100%. Drums. I'm sure you're gonna have to find that or I can't even.
You never.
Drums.
Yeah, it's always been a drummer
since he was very little.
He banged on everything.
Now let's put to good use.
Okay, would you ever their acoustic,
strip back, or full band?
I love a good acoustic set.
I just, I think growing up like in kind of like a heavy harmony environment and like,
you know, a lot of my family sayings, I sing with my brother, my aunts and uncles, it's like,
like when you strip it down and like you can be acoustic, you can allow room for like the
harmony to come. Yeah. So I just love I love acoustic. I appreciate that so much more. I mean, of course, like a full band, like makes it something amazing.
But to make it like really raw and just have voices and just one instrument is just, it's
so special.
Yeah.
To me, it's like, so whenever you're all right a song and then we're all kind of singing
it around a piano or guitar or just hear youall singing it. I love it so much and
then it's hard for me when we get our first cut because I'm like I liked it
better when I was straight back and then by the time it gets to the full band
you hear how amazing it's like oh that's amazing too you know so I agree there's
something really special about just that straight back yeah leaving room like
you said for the harmonies and if you follow Lil' on Instagram if you don't you
should learn her brother post videos of them singing together and it's just beautiful the harmonies and everything and your cousin
It's just cool. Oh, yeah
So before we get into the EP and everything I just want to hear about like each of y'all will start with you Lila
like your heart for worship
Yeah, because both of y'all didn't just get here because you're related to me. Y'all love worship and
Both of y'all didn't just get here because you're related to me, you all love worship.
And it's a beautiful thing that both of you have
in your heart and in your life,
and you'll also have a gift for it.
But I know you just spent whole summer
even just investing in that gift for yourself
and learning more.
So tell me a little bit about your heart for worship.
I think growing up, I didn't really understand
that there was a space for even even me like as a woman like
to lead worship, you know, I didn't think.
I grew up in a church that was only, only voices, no instruments.
So to like be able to step into a space where like I'm leading worship with instruments
around me, that was like so new.
And I remember like the very first time I even, I was in all sons and daughters concert.
I went to an all sons and daughters concert
and I was like, there is something like beautiful about this.
I grew up going to Nacke-Dish Louisiana
like every other weekend doing bluegrass festivals.
Like playing the fiddle.
And like my brother would play the mandolin
and we'd like sing a little bluegrass song.
But that was the only extent as far as instruments go that I like really had it a grassbuck.
And then I also just thought that I don't I don't think I even understood that there was a theology
behind worship. Like it was just you know you just go to church and you sing to God and that's it.
But like so much of the scriptures is centered around worship and so that's like just the journey
of understanding what true worship is is something that I haven't even arrived. Like I'm still figuring
out. So remember going to that all-sense of Daughter's concert, I remember being like wow this is
really cool and it was like a summer later that I was a camper at Camp Geoka and Reeves so funny
like how God orchestrated that Reeves like, like pipped up a guitar one summer.
It was like, I'm gonna leave worship, it learned it.
And he was like really good.
Like talking to the reverb all.
I was like a kid at the time, I think I'm like 13 or 14,
like a kid.
And he's like, no, you know, I sang a talent show
like a Carrie Underwood song.
He's like, Layla, sing with me tomorrow night.
And we sang a worship song. And I remember like, it was, well, I'll actually say this.
And this is something that I've had to put to death, like over and over and over again.
This is a big part of my testimony. But I remember leading worship. And what I can remember
about that is how good it felt to like be in front of people and like lead and like
have people like look at you. And you know. And that's something that I think was something that like was an immediate struggle.
Like I recognize now like that's where it started.
I mean it started way before that.
The people pleasing aspect in me.
But I remember that.
But then I also remember you know on a more positive note, the beauty of like oh my gosh,
like I get to lead people into the throne room of God. And that just from then on like
I remember like pulling Max into it my brother with me. I'm like let's start leading worship
You know, let's just start like learning worship songs. So I'm learning them on the piano more and more
Then we started posting some worship songs and then I remember like getting ready to go into college
And I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do.
And I also remember auditioning for a worship team
at a school that I was gonna be a part of.
And I didn't get that.
And I was like, okay, maybe this is it.
I was right around whenever I called a team.
Yeah, a week later, I got a call from you
and you're like, hey, would you wanna be a part of this?
And I was just like, wow, that's actually pretty cool.
But even then, I would say like,
I still didn't have an understanding of what worship was.
Yeah.
And I think that that's like the cool thing about worship is that like, you're not,
no one leading on stage is necessarily in a perfect position with God, you're perfect
with God.
So now you therefore can go lead a group of people. Like David committed adultery and murder
and was a messed up guy,
yet he is considered one of the most influential worship leaders
in all of scripture.
And I think that's,
and this was the biggest piece of advice I've ever received.
It was when my mom told me creativity follows repentance.
Like you cannot truly, I remember being in a writer's block
and I was like, I can't write.
And she was like, have you repented
before the Lord lately?
Like repentance isn't just something that you need to do
whenever you commit some big sin.
Like I daily need to be living in a heart posture
of repentance.
And so if you read Psalm 51,
like I think Psalm 51 is my motto for worship.
Like 100%, I think Psalm 51 is the essential worship.
Like, doesn't happen when you're on stage.
It doesn't just happen.
I mean, that's a glimpse of it.
It doesn't just happen when you get all miked up and you got your in-ears in and you're
ready to lead, you know, ready to lead the people.
It actually happens in the Monday.
It happens in your bedroom, happens on your knees, and like and that's something long time coming I've had to realize,
and when you realize that, you start to realize
how much you disappear.
And it's like, I'm not worthy enough to carry this.
And so if I understand my true state,
then in turn, God can shine through you.
It's not me.
And so, that's like,
worship is so much bigger than just like getting on stage.
It's so good.
It's not just this experience that we get
to have to conjure up on a Sunday morning.
Like it's a lifetime.
I like to say that when I get on stage
on Sunday morning, that's the cherry on top
of what's going on through my entire week.
Like it's an overflow.
That's so good.
So yeah.
Okay, y'all, we all get sucked in

This is a pretty huge one. Guys, come on girl. That's so good. And I love it because everything you
just laid out is going to just be a breath of life for people because I do think a lot of people
think like they have to muster up like
Just some say to perfection to stand on a stage and to lead people to God and you deal with all this guilt and like Oh, I feel like a hypocrite and all this stuff
But it's like no no one's going up there trying to be perfect and if you are then that is something to look at for
But I love how like what you said is so true that if you are living every
pendant life before God, if you're truly living a worship throughout your whole
week, then when you get on stage, it's not like you're having to tell yourself, don't
think about myself, don't think about myself, don't think about yourself. You just
won't think about yourself because you already position yourself to see God
for God and you for you. And I think that so many times we struggle with something
and we try to talk ourselves like just stop doing that, stop thinking that, do this, that, whatever.
And like we still try to be God in that scenario and like heal our own hearts and
like heal our own minds and all this stuff. But when you come before the Lord and
you repent and you get your heart right before him and you catch a glimpse of
his all and his majesty, then all of a sudden like everything starts to flow.
Your mind is in the right place, your heart's in the right place. So I just love how all in his majesty, then all of a sudden, like everything starts to flow.
Your mind is in the right place,
your heart's in the right place.
So I just love how you explain that so beautifully.
You start it out with the vulnerability
of sharing what you struggle with,
and then you let us to how you get to the place
where you get to worship freely.
And just the heart that you share for worship
is a really beautiful thing to understand
that you don't just have to be a worship leader
on stage, should be a worship leader, you know? And I think that's what's cool about even bringing up David
that he's one of the most influential worship leaders of all time, but we never heard him sing,
you know, we read about him, but it's not like we're hearing him. So you can lead worship with the
words of your life in other ways. So that's really cool. Well, tell me a little bit about your
journey to just being where you're at now with worship. I think my journey is it's a lot about just like my
thankfulness of just like where I'm at. Yeah. Because I did not expect myself to be where I'm at
like today. Like my whole plan was to like this would have been my first semester of senior year at Liberty. So I went there for music recording, engineering,
and producing, and all that stuff. And I didn't really have a mindset of, okay, I'm going to use
all this for worship. But, and then also like going all the way back, like whenever I was younger,
I used to sing all the time, but I never like took it seriously. I was like, oh, I could really use these gifts
to like actually lead people.
And so once going into senior year and going to Liberty,
I just kind of got a little taste of like what it was like
to actually lead, and I was like super uncomfortable
about it.
And I was like not confident at all,
and I didn't really have the confidence in my voice
to sing, and I was like, I don't know if this is like really for me. And so just going through college and then
leaving after only like a year and a half and then kind of struggling to find a job but then coming
in clutch. And so now I'm in North Carolina and I'm not doing what I've dreamt of doing at all. Share what you're doing.
And so I was a salesman at an RV dealership.
And it was actually really awesome.
I really enjoyed doing this job because it was my,
our mine and Abby's best friend, her dad,
offered me this job, and I've never experienced anything like it,
like in a sales position. And I loved like getting to learn that. best friend, her dad offered me this job and I've never experienced anything like it, like
in a sales position and I loved like getting to learn that and it was really cool.
And you're really, I, I whenever heard you were doing that, I was like, you're the personality
that can do that.
Right.
But at the same time, it isn't, you're right, it's not what your heart desires.
So I think that's a good thing to say because a lot of people are doing something right
now that's not necessarily where they hope to be. So I think that's a good thing to say because a lot of people are doing something right now That's not necessarily where they hope to be so I think that's relatable right and I just got in a really
Depressive spot because I was just like you know
I I want to be able to do music and to do all this for people and for the Lord most importantly and then
Like out of the blue
and then like out of the blue are our lead pastor at Anchor Church in McKinney, Texas, Jeff Jenkins. They've been long time family friends with us grew up with him. He reached
out and he was like, Hey, I want you to come to Texas and I want you to lead worship for
us and I want you to do music and I want you to work with high schoolers and college kids and all
this stuff and I was like, deal. And I just thought I kept thinking to myself like, why did he want,
I mean, I knew like he, like knew I wanted to do music stuff and everything but I came to the
realization like he saw my like my heart for worship and I thought it was, I was really thankful just to God
for providing me with this opportunity
to be able to lead people.
And I never thought in a million years
that I was gonna do this.
And so cool.
And then like two, three weeks later,
you reached out to me and you're like,
hey, do you wanna lead at a Losista conference? And you're like, hey, do you want to lead at L.O.S.S.T.R. conference?
And I was like, sure.
Because in that, leading at L.O.S.S.T.R. conference last year
was probably the biggest thing
that I've ever done as far as leading for worship.
So up until that point, I've only led two,
three services of Anchor Church.
So it was so new, but fast forward to today, I just could not be any more grateful than I
am for you and for Pastor Jeff and just, and just for God blessing me with this whole thing.
It's so cool. And it's just, and I've just love being able to worship and and I mean
seconding all that Laila said it just I just love it all that it's really
cool. It makes me teary because I know your story and like that's just so cool
the timing of all that and I always want to be a part of a worship for those
that are listening but I was always waiting to like, I saw your life align with that call in the
sense of like, to put it into easier terms, understand, I knew you had a heart to worship,
but I knew you weren't comfortable, competent to do that yet or to say that yet. But whenever
I saw you take that job at the church and be like, you know what, like, I actually am
going to do this and put myself in those uncomfortable places
because this is what God has gifted me to do.
And this is like something that I'm capable of doing
and then seeing you, even just so few times,
like stepping into that, I was like, okay,
like I think you're kind of on the track to do it.
But still, you weren't fully a part of your worship.
You were just leading with like harmony
and kind of background at conference last year.
And what's really cool is seeing you lead up there.
I mean, I just saw like you're stepping into,
you're stepping into what you're gonna do, you know?
But then what was really cool is, you know,
after the conference, we had recorded everything
so we could take from what we recorded for the live EP.
And we're sitting there listening to each individual person
on the recording and all the sudden,
we're listening to what a beautiful name and we hear will and we're all like
What is that will because like you always had a great voice, but it was like it was different like it was you were leading with authority
You're leading like with passion and not even worrying about what your voice and like, which made it just so much bigger and so and we're sitting there and
I'm like, oh my gosh, we have to do a song with Will. And now you're on three of
the songs, including the first one that we just put out our single. So seeing
you the past year, not only step into that as a job position, if you will, but
stepping into that with your whole heart and like truly just living a life for the Lord, you and Abby,
you all's hearts are just so sweet and I'm just really proud of you and you too, like, I've got to watch y'all grow up and I've gotten to see glimpses of like putting this on your heart, this might be what you're due, but step into that uncomfortability, step into that feeling and maybe feeling a little unqualified, step into that all the awkwardness of being a teenager, and then just like keep
showing up to the point where now you are extremely talented worship leaders.
Because I think it's one thing to have a gift and have a good voice.
It's another thing to steward that good voice and that gift of leading.
And both of y'all have begun to steward that in just an incredible way.
And you're about to be 20
and you are 20, about to be 21. I am 20. You're about to be 20. And November. And so 20
and 21 and just the seriousness that y'all take, the relationship with the Lord, the amount
of seriousness you take that with, like, that's why it's so easy to trust y'all with these
things. And it's not like I expect y'all with these things. And it's not like
I expect y'all to be perfect, but y'all's heart before the Lord is so pure. So I'm really
proud of y'all. On that note, presence just came out. If you haven't listened to our first
single presence, will lead's presence, you should go do it. It's so good. So tell me a little
bit about riding that song and just the heart behind it.
What's something about that song that sticks out
to y'all as your favorite part?
I'm trying to get back because I like to stay hydrated.
Especially as a nursing mom, it is very important.
And one of the things that I have found
has helped me so much is element.
It's amazing.
Element, if you haven't heard of it, LMNT is here to help with all the electrolyte needs.
It's a drink mix with everything your body needs and nothing it doesn't.
And it has no sugar, which is awesome compared to a lot of other ones that I used to use.
They have lots of sugar.
So this one doesn't.
No artificial ingredients or coloring, no gluten or fillers,
and none of the junk, all the good stuff.
Like a science-backed electrolyte ratio
of 1,000 milligrams of sodium,
200 milligrams of potassium,
and 60 milligrams of magnesium.
Like I said, as a nursing mom,
the electrolyte's really helped,
but also the potassium.
Any day that I didn't take some kind of electrolytes
like this, I would get leg cramps really bad.
And my doctor would say, you know,
make sure you take more potassium,
but I found drinking this that really helped.
So look, you know, we all sweat, whether you're a mom
or not, you know, we all need to get those electrolytes
back that we lose.
Electrolites help with hundreds of things in your body.
Like hormone regulation, nutrients, absorption,
and fluid balance.
And if they're not replaced, you can get muscle cramps, like I mentioned, and fatigue.
Element can help prevent and even eliminate both of those things, plus headaches and other
symptoms of a ledger-like deficiency.
So sign me up for that.
I already got myself signed up because I literally drink one every single day.
My favorite flavors are the raspberry and the watermelon one.
Honestly, it's been so hot in Louisiana,
and after a walk, there is just nothing that tastes better
than a watermelon or raspberry element.
It keeps me so hydrated.
And again, my milk supply stays up with these things.
So if you're a mom out there,
actually another mom had told me about it,
and it's helped so much.
Element even works with a keto low carb or paleo diet and it's used by everyone from Pike S host
and mom's to be the pro athlete to people who just want to feel better because it truly does
make you feel better. Element has got you covered in all the things fam. So right now, Element is
offering a free sample pack with any purchase that's eight single serving packets
free with any element order.
And this is a great way to try all eight flavors.
Kishnaya actually did that, which is how we discovered
we like the raspberry, because that's not typically
the flavor I go for.
So you can try all of them and pick out
which one you like the best.
Even have a chocolate one.
So you know what, they're all good, whatever you like,
whatever is more your flavor profile. So get yours at drink element dot com slash woe. This deal is only available
through my links. So you have to go to drink element, dr i and k l m n t dot com slash woe.
Element offers no questions as refunds as well. So that's a blessing if you don't like it. So try
it totally risk free. If you don't like it it share it with a salty friend and they will give you your money back
No questions asked you don't have to lose anything, but you have a lot to gain
I've been going into the right and we kind of talked about this like a little bit on the live the other day
Anytime you go into a writing room, you can identify immediately
what kind of write it's going to be for me at least. And the two things that are markers of that,
number one, is like the encouragement in the room. Like, are you walking in, is there immediately
an atmosphere of encouragement? Or are you walking in, and do you feel that like weird, competitive
nature, you know, and you can like truly feel those things. I think especially if you're being led by the Holy Spirit.
Yeah. Like I tell like, I mean I'm a new writer but like I would tell this to any new writers all the time
But like if you walk into a writing room and you feel a spirit of competitiveness like immediately like hey guys
Let's pray. Yeah. Like let's pray. But this, I truly like walked in the room and was like overwhelmed with a spirit of unity.
We were in LA, we were doing riding camp there
with Matt Redmond and Mitch Wong,
who were both just like incredible riders.
Like obviously you guys know, like, it's so good.
And I think sometimes like you think,
you know, you see these people be, and you listen to their music,
and you're like, you ask yourself,
are these guys living it out in their life?
But when I say walk into that room,
immediate encouragement, and such confirmation
that these guys believe what they're singing about,
that's special.
So, first of all, the foundation was set before.
And I would also say just like getting to write
with people that I've grown up with,
never have written before,
I think we wrote ones that like, can't Chioca.
Like, dude, it was like, it was like,
yeah, it was during, it was like 2019.
It was like, kids, we were campers.
Yeah, it wrote a song called Marvel,
but it was about time.
No, but it was so cool because it was like like the whole theme was Marvel and so it was all Avengers and everything and so like the main
Literally the main melody was the Avengers theme like
The chorus was out of the pit you
The chorus was out of the pit you called me and then Yeah, I'm talking about God's sake.
And to the point where you draw.
I was on the get home, not at all.
We didn't like, you didn't bring that back.
No, we needed to find the fitting room.
So it was funny, because I go to this right where we're writing
present, I'm still using the book that I had used written that song.
I needed to tell you this.
I even told you this.
I remember opening the book and seeing Marvel written by
and then like all of these names in that room.
I was thinking like, okay, this is like a full circle moment.
Like really cool.
And I had led worship with Reeves,
but like when me and Reeves led worship together,
he was like wanting to sing like Chris Stapleton.
Like that was the type of stuff he was writing.
Yeah, and so like wanting to sing like Chris Stapleton like that was the type of stuff he was riding Yeah, and so like getting to like and then Kaylee like
Honestly, I had admired from just a sheer like I didn't know Kaylee very well
But it's from like example sample like I just looked up to her soap for so long
And now it's like we're all family. We're sitting in this room with Matt rum in bitch long and our incredible
We're all family, we're sitting in this room with Matt Rebman and Mitch Wong and our incredible producer Mark and from the fruit of years and years and years of just like
like friendship comes a song that is so simple.
Yeah.
It's so like just like raw and like beautiful.
Yeah.
We wrote it around a piano.
Um, I remember like that just like the exact, I don't remember what song it was like
what number we wrote.
It was one of the first two that was the first day.
And like when you, when you have a song that like,
someone like brings an idea and it just like takes off,
like the feeling you get is like, none other,
especially when it's for the church.
Cause it's like, this is like not just-
Get a help people.
This isn't just something that people are gonna like,
like it's not like a country song or like a pop song.
It's like, we're leading people like I said into the phone room. So yeah, Mitch sat down at the piano. He's like, I kinda not like a country song or like a pop song. It's like, we're leading people, like I said,
into the phone room.
So yeah, Mitch sat down at the piano.
He's like, I kinda had, you know,
there's Ostra and I said,
I'm gonna get a guy.
I kinda have this idea.
He's like, ta-da-da.
We're all like, and I still have the voice memo,
that voice memo.
Was it the voice memo,
the one with the ambulance to the background?
Yes.
It's actually kinda cool because we were talking about, like, you're still small voice, and then you hear the ambulance to the background. Yes. It's actually kind of cool because we were talking about like,
you're still small voice and then you hear the same as the background at the right.
And it's like, that's kind of a good representation of what this song is.
That even in the midst of life's chaos and that's kind of what the bridge talks about.
Even in whether it's the best time of life or the worst time of the life,
like your presence is the thing that my heart desires to most.
Like that's all I need, you know?
And so that was, I remember that was cool
when y'all sent me that voice memo
and Reese was like, listen to the ambulance, right?
When we say, yeah, I'm still small voice.
So I'm like, but I'm like, I'm like amazed over here,
by the way, for everyone listening
because I don't even know half these stories
that I'm hearing right now.
And I'm just like, what did God do?
Cause like, I didn't know that y'all did that at camp.
I didn't know y'all were like writing together.
I didn't know that you and Reese actually led that camp. I didn't know y'all were like writing together. I didn't know that you and Rhee
has actually led that at camp,
and that was like y'all's first,
is like one of his first times,
and you look at De Kaylee,
and I have to say I'm actually pretty blown away
at God at the moment,
because like you,
so there's a verse,
and it says unless the Lord builds
the house of labor is labor and vain,
and that's like one of our main verses of the Elo.
We always say like the Lord has to build the house.
But it would be crazy for me to even think
I built the house because I didn't build the house.
Like I don't even know this.
Like this is something that like only the Lord can do.
And the only way I got to be a part of this is that
all of a sudden I was like, oh you're super gifted
and you're super gifted and God gave me this
and maybe this could work.
But I didn't know what God had been doing for years.
And like what God is planning on doing for the years to come.
And I'm just like honestly so humbled and grateful that God even let me be a part of the
story because I just feel like I just have to say publicly I can't take any credit for
what happened.
Because it's not just like I said it's not just that y'all are my family.
It's not just a year and a brother and a year because it's not like we set around our
whole life and saying together.
Like we didn't.
It's not like I was there when y'all did that at camp.
I wasn't.
I was living in Nashville.
I didn't even know that, you know.
And so like all the while, while I'm there praying,
we're like in believing and dreaming,
trying to grind for what all our worship's gonna be,
and it's not working.
Y'all are here, sitting at Camp Sioco,
playing like a home, singing about Marvel.
You know?
Like that blows my mind.
That God was like working on y'all's hearts
and in y'all's lives and growing y'all up.
While I was sitting there trying to make something happen
and it just reminds me in this moment to trust God
that he's working when you can't see it.
And that if it's something that he put in your heart
as a desire to do, whether it's like a job or a dream
or some kind of ministry or song or this or that
or leadership, it has to be in his timing.
And it doesn't mean that you can't work towards it.
For me, I'm still working towards him so believe in for it, y''all are writing y'all are singing y'all are doing all stuff.
So keep working in the waiting, but when he puts the pieces together, you'll realize like, oh well, like that's why it needs to be at this timing.
Because it could have been cool to do a lot of worship with other people, but it's amazing to do it with family, you know?
So I don't know. I'm just blown away by that personally. Will something cool in this album? One of my favorite
songs is Jesus You Forever. And it's really cool because you get to lead it with Chidama
and which is really exciting for you. I know. So tell me a little bit about just leading
with Chidama and finding that out later and that whole process. Well, it was awesome to just lead that song too,
because I remember hearing it first with Chidama
because she, y'all were just planning on having
just her on the song.
So I was like, oh, this is really cool.
And then Mark told me, hey Will, can you try this out?
Because it was just the day that we were just gonna
just do demo tracks.
So we were just like, hey, we're just gonna do all these songs, get the raw, so we can start.
And then once it comes to the actual recording day, refer back to these.
And so he was like, hey, can you jump on this song?
I was like, sure.
And it sounded sick.
And so we were like, okay, all right, we're just gonna take Jesus to you forever.
And then later, whenever he said that we're like putting Chidama back on it, I
just freaked out.
I freaked out. He called me crazy.
Chidama. I was like, come on.
Yeah, she's amazing.
She is really cool. And then I mean, I've just always seen her on passion. And literally
every time I go to the passion conference, it's always beautiful.
Yes.
And it's so, oh Yeah. Beautiful. Yes.
And it's so, oh, that song is amazing.
Yeah.
I'm just saying a little church on Sunday too.
It was really good.
It was really good.
But yeah, it's just, it's so mind blowing
that we're getting to start just colliding with such these,
where it, it's just really cool.
It's cool.
It's really exciting.
Well, went through a GZ Forever.
So when I first heard it, it's very beautiful.
You all will hear it, I guess, in a couple of weeks.
But it's very sweet, and it's very,
it's like a love song to use this, you know?
And when Chidomo was singing, I was like,
this is beautiful, but I was like,
I almost want a guy to sing it,
like someone like you, and I suggested.
I was like, I almost want Will to sing it
because I want people people especially men and guys to see
That you can feel that sweetness and that love for Jesus
Just like a like just like the woman can you know like it's for everybody and it's like I think that's a little bit more natural
Sometimes for girls to be like Jesus you forever like one thing that I want like there's all these things
It's like so beautiful, but for you to sing it, for a guy to sing it,
who's big and cool and all this stuff,
and then sing like this love,
no seriously, you have this swag and this cool aspect
and vibe to you, but then to sing this love song to Jesus,
there's something about, that was just really pure and beautiful.
So I love how you carried that song, it was so good.
Y'all together was amazing.
Okay, so let's keep going on some of these songs. So, Holy in my heart is obviously what the whole album EP is, the heart of it is.
And even our artwork is the letter. And that's really just a symbol of sealing God's holiness in
our heart. Well, I want you to kind of explain just the heart behind that song and the CP because
Well, I want you to kind of explain just the heart behind that song and the CP because
that's a big song. I mean, everybody that's heard it has been like this song is just like life-changing and Mitch even said it's like a ginger shot. It's like it's hard to swallow
but it's good for the body and it is. It's when I was singing it the other day, I stopped and I
just began to pray it because I was like I want want to like, I got to really want this to be
what my heart reflects, you know, and when you can't just sing it and not feel like stirred by it.
So tell us a little bit about the heart pattern.
So if you know me at all or you've heard any part of my story, you know that I've struggled with
anxiety in the past and one thing that I'm really big on is actually being proactive about your anxiety, not just
sitting in it and continuing to do the same things that make you anxious, but changing
something, doing something different.
And one thing that I've found is when I scroll social media a lot, I get a little bit more
anxious.
And so that's why I have to be careful with how much I look at it, when I look at it,
and that is where I love mentioning and talking about the abide app because, you know, we're
going to be on our phones anyway, some of us, but it's nice to not just be on social
media, but to go to something that's actually fruitful and beneficial to your brain.
So what if instead of just jumping on Instagram first thing in the morning, you started with
an app that actually draws you closer to Christ.
And that's where a buy can come in a buy does the number one Christian meditation app has all sorts of features like
Meditations that start at just two minutes long so it's easy to fit into a busy schedule
They have topics like managing stress overcoming anxiety finding forgiveness and so much more and for a limited time
Well, that's good listeners get 25% off premium subscriptions. When you text, whoa, WHOA, the 22433,
I love the idea of starting my day meditating on scripture
to keep me centered on Christ all day long.
If you ever heard the verse,
Psalm's one, two, and three, it talks about meditating
on the word day and night,
and you will be like a tree that is planted.
That's always bearing fruit.
And so when we meditate on scripture,
like the
abide app, we can be like a tree producing fruit in all of the seasons of life.
They also have great things for kids like story time. They also have that for adults too,
which is kind of nice. Some of the time when I can't fall asleep, I just turn on the abide app,
listen to a story and before I know it, I'm asleep. And so I love the abide app. It's helped me go
to sleep an anxious night and just helped me focus on scripture whenever my mind's having a hard time being still so
Millions of people are with me on this are using the abide app and they also report getting better sleep and feeling less stress and anxious
So friends, that's a good combo less stress less anxiousness and more sleep

Um, it's a poetic song. Yes.
This song is a straight poem.
I even think the song in itself has probably the most lyrics of any of the other songs.
I'm not positive, but I could make that assumption.
It's very declarative about who God is.
The entire first half of the verse is almost like, I mean, it's not almost,
it is heavenly. Like, it's literally just like elevating God in the heavens. Um, and for me,
when I listen to this song, I can't help but think about God's holiness throughout the ages,
even in the days of like old and the Old Testament where you, you know, he, he ascended on this mountain
and Moses like was the only one who could come to the mountain and and scripture says if even an
animal touched that mountain, it would be like it would die. And I think people read that and they
develop this like unhealthy fear of God. It's like, well, why would a God that's loving like,
be so holy that you can't even like approach it and that you're going to burn up and die
If you get to I'm like that's the gospel. Yeah, that's the whole point of the gospel like God is so holy
Like it's almost illogical for me to face him face to face because of how holy he is like I mean even
Saw when he was converted to Paul on the road into Damascus was literally blind from gazing upon the beauty of God.
And so I think about like the journey that God,
like had in place since the beginning of time,
he had this law that was like perfect.
The scripture says that the law was perfect.
And I think people can dismiss the Old Testament a lot
because they're like, you know,
like those laws don't matter anymore.
But when you read the Old Testament
and you read the New Testament,
you realize God's always been holy.
He's always been holy, like,
holy enough, holy in the heavens,
like two, like, two holy for us to even come before Him.
That's how holy He is.
But in sending His Son to earth,
and in, you know, like becoming man
and in walking the earth and dying the death of a criminal,
he becomes holy in our hearts because like it's no longer about like, you know, back in the day,
you had to, only certain amount of people could go into the temple, you had to be clean,
you had to walk into the temple and that's because he was holy, but now we can approach the throne room
with complete freedom.
And that's the holy in our hearts that this song is trying to capture.
It's like almost like a dichotomy of the perfection of God and how holy is yet the access that
we have to that God through the blood of Jesus.
And I just think there's a line that says angels in the heavens all around your throne,
ever seeing you holy
Nothing else they know. Yeah stunned by your perfection. Everything you are your holy in the heavens be holy in my heart
So it's like be holy in my heart. It's like a declaration like come be holy in my heart
And I even think like to sum this all up in the end
The only thing that we will be doing when we we return to dust and we die, I'm sorry to be morbid, we're all gonna die.
In the end, when he comes,
that's what we're going to be doing forever and ever,
ever singing holy.
There's nothing else we're gonna do.
And people, some people may go,
that sounds scary for the rest of my life,
but I'm like, no, it's like,
you're before the most beautiful,
like breathtaking God of the universe,
and you get to sing holy for the rest of your eternity.
Because it's all you can sing.
It's all you can sing.
It's the only response that you can.
I mean, if you read the Bible,
every time someone is face to face with God,
they're like, when John talks about like seeing like Jesus
with the sword coming out of his mouth and the fire in his eyes,
like he just fell on his face.
Like there was nothing else he could do.
And I think like God's holiness is something that's kind of hard
to grasp, but with the blood of Jesus, it's beautiful.
And it's like, we're not distant from that.
Yeah.
We're broken.
We're broken.
And we have no room to even stand,
but through the blood of Jesus, we have constant access.
So good.
Gosh, that's so good.
That song is going to truly change people's perspective,
I think, of God and the access to his holiness.
And even just his holiness, I think sometimes,
sometimes people get afraid of that
because it's so amazing. But then sometimes people just undermine that. It's like, you know,
we do have so much access that sometimes you forget he's a holy god. You know, like,
you, we get to talk to him, we get to do life with him, we get to just pray, we get to show up on some days and worship and like sometimes you forget like who you're talking to. Like and
like even this morning I was talking to God and I just had to refocus for a second and
go like God. I just want to acknowledge like my reverence for you. Like that I understand
I'm talking to the God of the universe. Like I understand as I'm sitting here and I'm mad about whatever I'm talking to you
about that. I'm like listening to the birds that you created and I'm like
looking at the sky and the grass and the pond and my family's inside that you
created and you are so holy and I can't even believe I get to say these things, you know,
to you.
And I thought about David because I was coming before and was something I was frustrated
at, you know, and I'm so thankful that he can handle that and he welcomes that and we
get to see that example and scripture.
But at the end of the day, also acknowledging, but before I leave here, I just want to say,
you are holy and you are good.
And even though I don't understand sometimes, I want, I want to experience that holiness and
that goodness right here in this moment in my heart. And so that song has helped even shape
the way I pray, the way I think, the way that I want to think and how I want to believe based
off of what I see in scripture and know to be true. And so I'm excited for how it's going to hit people because it's challenged me in a lot of ways.
And I know it's going to challenge and just be put words to things in your heart that maybe you've
never even thought of. Okay, we have a couple more songs. So Almighty God is so strong. I'm excited
about that one live. I think that's going to really strong. Yeah, so that leads me to ask go
What is the most excited or what song are you most excited to lead live?
Or here lead if you're not on it right I mean all mighty God is gonna be like oh
It's gonna be like so fun. It's good. It's so
No, no you go you go you Well, I was just gonna say,
it's sometimes hard to pinpoint that
because I absolutely love like songs like,
holy my heart where I get to like lead
and like, or someone gets to lead
and we, you know, get to recognize kind of just like,
sit in all of who God is.
And I feel like that's more of like a reverent,
serious moment, you know?
But then there's like another side to like,
the rejoicing, like just like, simply like, I'm jumping up and down,
I'm just declaring who you are.
I think giving out for the cross is gonna be really cool.
Oh, I did.
That's what I was gonna say.
I was like, every time I listened to that one,
it's just like, it's so cool.
I get so close.
It's so cool.
It's so cool.
The second part of the chorus,
just oh, who could comprehend what it calls?
Like who can comprehend any of this?
Like you can't just comprehend,
like it's unfathomable.
Like you just can't fathom the idea of,
again going back to holding my heart, just the God,
like how big he is and everything that we're doing,
it's for him and it's for the cross, it's for everything that Jesus put down for us.
And it's just so...
I love singing.
A ton of wave of applause.
Yeah, a lot of us.
It's so fun to see, and it's like,
it was the first hour, whatever it is,
that I like it so high of singing that song.
That was probably my favorite song, like in the writing process.
Yeah.
Like, that was my favorite one by far.
It's so good.
It flew together like super, I don't wanna say quickly, but it's like, it's like, it's like
you sing the next line so effortlessly because it seems like that's what it should go to.
I love the music, like just a simple melody of it.
Yeah. I think it's easy to sing, but while also being really creative.
Yeah.
And that's something that a lot of people try. Like hard to like grasp both of those.
Um, I love that song.
And we were listening to all the songs.
I was like, you know, obviously,
Holy in my heart, everyone loves and presents.
I mean, we all talk about all of them.
And one thing that's actually really unique about the CP
is even throughout our group,
everyone had a different favorite,
which was like, that's strong.
Because normally, you know, you hear an album and you're like, that's the one or that's the one, but we were
like, they're all good. But I remember saying like, if not for the cross, it's going to
be a sneak attack because I think we're all focusing on like, these couple ones, and then
like, if not for the cross, it's the one every morning. I'm like, I want to turn that
on, I'm going to drop box since I have all this long.
You know, like, Juan, I don't think we, like, even with steady light. Yeah. I think we were, I don't know if open was like the one
that everyone was like, that's gonna be, you know?
I think that, and even talking to people about steady light,
like the different songs impacted people
in like different ways.
And you never truly like know what that's gonna be.
And you can't, you can't even like,
I've tried to like sit down and be like,
I'm gonna write a banger right now.
Yeah, you can't do that.
You have to like just go with it
and like, oh, the Holy Spirit through it all.
And there's so many that don't make it.
Yeah, that's the hard part.
You know, because there's so many ones
that y'all wrote that were really impactful.
So we're gonna talk about move too,
because move is gonna be a really unique moment
at conference, if you're coming to conference
If you're not coming to conference, you gotta get chicken and come to conference. Yeah, if you're not doing that
Maybe one day it'll be on YouTube
But there's this song move that they wrote and it was basically because I was telling that the conference same as move and it was this idea
Like what would happen if we actually moved what would happen if we actually moved like Jesus calls us to move.
Would the world look different?
And y'all wrote a really beautiful song and Laila you sing it and we're going to have a
cool moment that with conference.
And I don't actually even want to give that away because we'll get to that later.
So there's so many fun things to come.
September the first is when this EP comes out and you're not going to want to miss it. Anything else you just want them to when this EP comes out, and you are not gonna wanna miss it,
anything else you just want them to know
before this comes out, just your heart for it,
or whatever I just wanna leave space
for you all to share anything on your heart.
I'm super excited.
I am too.
Yeah, I think, like I said,
there is a song for like truly everyone here
in every position.
I just went through a summer of studying truly everyone here, every position.
I just went there a summer of studying the Psalms. And one thing I can say about the Psalms is like
there are Psalms of lament,
there are Psalms of, like you simply were joy-sing,
there are Psalms of calling on God to like,
you know, justice even on people.
And I think that like, just to know,
if you're a worship leader, like if you are a worship leader
and wanting to accurately like understand
kind of where your body is at,
or actually accurately understanding you kind of,
what kind of song should I pick today?
What should be my set list?
You have to know like the things
that your church body is going through.
And you have to know like your people and you have to disciple and you have to like the things that your church body is going through. And you have to know your people and you have to disciple and you have to step into that.
And that's something I would feel super convicted of.
I'm leading worship every Sunday, but am I getting coffee with younger girls throughout
the week?
Do I understand where people are at in my church?
Do I understand who's hurting?
Because some days, you had a Sunday a few Sunday, a few Sundays ago, that was like,
three families had just experienced
some like really heavy loss.
And it's like, what are you doing that?
You know, I think as a worship leader,
like you lead songs that are focused on just the goodness
of God in times of like, great hardship.
And so, like, know your people, you know?
That's good.
I'm excited. Like, I can't know every single person your people, you know? It's good. I'm excited.
Like, I can't know every single person at conference,
you know, that's coming.
But I know like a few that are gonna be there.
And I'm just like excited to just,
yeah, I'm just excited.
I'm just excited.
I love it.
Yeah, I think this whole EP is just so special.
It was so special to be able to record it and to hear what it's
gonna sound like. And I'm so I just yeah I'm so excited for all of you all to hear just
that goodness of God. It's gonna be so cool. I'm so excited. So Timber first is coming
out y'all can all listen to it in the meantime go listen to presence and just sit with the Lord and I just have to say I know y'all've
heard this do their hearts but these two are and reuse and Kaylee and
Elo worship we're not just doing this start a worship team we're doing this
because we want to help put words in your heart that lead you to Jesus that
lead you to the Father's heart that welcome the spirit into your life.
Like we're doing this and writing these songs
with you in mind, with prayer in mind,
with God's heart in mind.
And so just know like these are personal,
they're personal for us.
And I hope they can be personal for you.
And I hope that they truly are something
that can lead you to the heart of the Father.
I've shared this before, but after Christian, I went through a hard season.
I did not have the words to pray.
I didn't have the words to sing.
Hard or right?
And I just would listen to brand and late gratitude, like over and over again.
And when it was like, come on my soul, don't you get shy on me?
I mean, that was like, those are my words.
Like during that time, that was what I prayed.
And I pray that this can be that for you,
that some of these words can work,
can just work in your life for some of the hard times,
and you don't know what to pray.
We don't know how to pray when you don't know how to sit
before the Lord.
When your heart is in a hard place,
like everyone is welcome to sing these songs.
Everyone is welcome into this life with God.
So we love you guys.
We're excited for you all to listen to Holy My Heart September 1st.
We'll only let thank y'all for being great leaders.
Great friends.
It is an absolute honor to work beside y'all.
Thank you so much.
So cool. you
